I need to set a goal to get off the weight I've let creep up lately. Since a Columbus Day goal thread just finished, I figured I'd start one for US Thanksgiving week since that's 6 weeks.

So...jump on board...set your goal for whatever day that week works for you.

MY GOALS....(may be adjusted later)

My scale last week before my walk said 138#...my official WW goal is 127# & what I would like to be back to by Thanksgiving...11# in 6 weeks IS possible for me.

However, my scale this morning said 148#...10# in one week AND I walked 60 miles! I THINK (hope) that the 10# is really water retention or something from the shock my body got from walking 60 miles in 3 days...at least I hope so....so I'm assuming that a lot of that will drop off in the next few days anyway & making my goal under that assumption.

If I'm wrong...I'll readjust my goal accordingly.

TD Goal: 127# by 11/21

Okay I usually stay away from setting specific time goals since it hasn't worked in the past but the last goal seemed to go well since I didn't set it too high (or low as the case may be) so I'm going to try again. I'm going to try to get below 160 for my next goal. Since as of this morning I was at 164.5, that's not too crazy at all. I'll be thrilled with that and any more would be even better. So here it is....

Current: 164.5
Thanksgiving Goal : anything less than 160
Ultimate Goal: who knows??? anything that makes me size 10 or less!!

Legal - thanks for getting us started!

I'm going to use my weight as of my weigh in on this Thursday (10/11) and as Thanksgiving falls on my weigh in day, I may try to make a meeting elsewhere. If I can't, I may adjust my goal. Anyway, I'd like to lose 3 pounds by Thanksgiving. More would be great, but I haven't been meeting my goals lately, so I'll make it .5 lb / week.

Hi all, Glad to have a new goal! I didn't quite make the last one, but I am pleased with my progress! I started to attend WW meetings, so I am going to use that weight from now on. I weighed in yesterday at WW and then had my final home WI yesterday for the CD goal, and they were only 1.4 lbs different. So...

My Goal is to lose 1.5 lbs/week making 9 lbs.

Current Weight (10/10/01) = 153.4
Week 1 (15-19)
Week 2 (22-26)
Week 3 (29-2)
Week 4 (5-9)
Week 5 (12-16)
Week 6 (19-23) Goal = 144.4

but I am just gonna stick with the program and post my starting and end weight at the end. I have not met one single goal :lol: that I have participated in this year and seem to be going in the wrong direction. So my goal is just to stick with the program totally and see what happens. I agree with Rabbit, my problem has been way too much gobble gobble:D

O.k....I'm modifying my goals some based on actual weight now that my body has recovered from the walk & reality hitting me in the form of trying on all my jeans!

GOALS

Current weight: 139#
Goal weight 11/21: 131#
Exercise goal: 30 min/4X/week

Progress: 0/8#


I think 8# in 5 weeks is realistic if I keep focused and also gives me a little leeway for the Halloween party! *L* The exercise goal is very important, because I find it easier to eat healthier when I'm exercising.

well as I said yesterday, the last couple of days have not been good to me - or I maybe it's that I haven't been good to me, I'm not sure. Anyway I'm still down 1.5 pounds which I can't complain over. I'm only upset because it could have been more but that's still a good week. So, I'm on my way toward my goal. Let's keep it going.....

Starting TD Goal: 164.5
Current: 163.0
TD Goal: less than 160

I don't think I could resist the halloween chocolate. I would definitely have to buy things I don't like. Thankfully we don't really need any in the building where I live.

Elisa- I wasn't going to bother with Halloween candy, because I figured we're in an apartment, on the second floor, who's gonna come? Well, the complex sends out a flyer and says that the kids from the complex are all invited to trick or treat!! I'll probably buy some smarty's or something else tangy that I don't like!

Just checking in at the Thanksgiving Day goal to keep it in my mind. My first weigh in is tomorrow night, I've had 4 days op so far, but don't know what to expect as sometimes it takes the scale awhile to catch up for me.

missed my regular weigh in this week, cos had to go and have that lovely "womens" inspection - promise to weigh in next week. Getting the water back in, and today will try out my mini trampoline, had some cheese cake yesterday, so I was over, but I am cut a couple of points for a few days to get it back on track

Hi All,

WI was good last night. Had to go to the 7:30 meeting because I worked late and couldn't make to 5:30.

Starting OCT 11th: 239.4
OCT 18th Weigh In: 237.6
T-Day Goal: 235

So now I have 2.6 to go for my goal! I can do this, I know I can!! I have 5 weeks, I should be able to do even more!!

HELLO ALL. FIRST WEIGH IN!

Well, I had a small loss last night at weigh in of .2 pounds. I had some good days and some bad days (ie cookie dough) so I'll take it.

WOW!!!

Every single person who signed up for this challenge is making progress toward their goal! And it's only been 11 days since the thread started and we have lost 6 lbs!!!

WE ROCK! WE ARE ALL GOING TO MAKE IT!

I am not sure what happened, but I set this goal, went to brussels, ate like a pig for a week, came back and went to WI...And was down a pound! I don't know what's up, but I'll take it.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALL.

I made ds peanut butter cookies today w/chocolate kisses and got into the leftover kisses, so will have to make up for it this evening so I don't go over on points. glad I checked in here. It should inspire me to stick with it.

I forgot to weigh this morning, so I'll do it tomorrow morning. Guess I'll make Tuesday mornings my "official" weigh-in since I used to go to WW on Tuesday, that's kind of habit.

Didn't do horribly this weekend, but didn't do as well as I did during the week, so not sure what the results will be tomorrow. We ended up going camping Saturday at the last minute, so all my good intentions for exercise sort of went out the window. Made some cookies for the Halloween party last night & managed not to inhale too many, *L*

We'll see. Congrats on everyone else's progress!

Well I weighed myself this morning and I was exactly the same as last week! I'm not happy about this because I thought I had a pretty good week and I thought maybe I could lose a pound! - is that so much to ask for. Anyway I'll give it another week just trying the same thing and see what happens and if it still stays the same I might have to try changing things a bit, I guess. I know I don't get enough water so I could try that. I'm not sure what else to do, I think I was well within my points for 5 days and maybe a bit over for 2. Well we'll have to see. So I'm still the same but with enough time to make my TD Goal!

Well, I'm down, but not as much as the scale showed last week. But my habits are improving and as soon as I can start getting home from work at a decent hour again maybe I can truly get into a regular exercise routine.

Well since I'm back on line and I promised myself to get back on track after my b-day, I decided to make a Thanksgiving Day Goal, starting with tonight's WI.

Start Weight (10/23) - 241.0
Week One (10/30) -
Week Two (11/6) -
Week Three (11/13) -
Week Four (11/20) -

Four WI, I'm going to go for 5 lbs which will bring me to 236.0 almost where I was in May :o . Oh well, it's been a stressful summer.

Elise - I'm with Rabbit - hang in there the loss will show up over time if you give it time.

OK, I am really bumming here! I have 16 points banked for the week - tonight is my weigh in - and according to my scales, I have not lost and may have gained!:mad:

I never thought I would say this, but I am disappointed by my 1 lb loss! Here's why: I "not following" WW on the 13th and have still lost 1 lb each week. This is not giving me motivation to be good! If I can't turn this around, it will surely lead to a stop to losing, if not to a gain!

So, I am going to take a second to review what I have accomplished so far and outline what I need to do to get back on track.

1. Water: I used to drink none. I got to the point where I was drinking close to 3 liters a day. Now that I am being "bad", I am STILL drinking about 1 L on most days. I need to step it back up, but I am doing better still!

2. Other beverages: Coke and alcohol are probably the primary reasons I gained a lot of the weight. I consider it a "good" day when I have none of either or 1. Over the past few weeks I have been having more than that, but NOT NEARLY up to prechange patterns!

3. Fruits/Veggies: Used to eat basically none. For a while, I was making my goal of 5-7 a day most days. Over the past few weeks, its been only 1-3 but this is STILL better than before.

4. Other food: Was doing well on this to make points every day, but haven't been counting points or doing that well. But, I am making healthier choices and appear to have shrunk my stomach, so can't "enjoy" as much of a lot of things as I used to.

5. Exercise: I was doing a little, then none while I was doing so well. This just needs work.

So, I think that I have made enough improvements that I am still losing even though I am being "bad". However, I know my general goals for my lifestyle change I want to make (reguardless of the weight) and I am not making them.

Here is where I would like to be: 2 L + of H2O per day, 2 cokes a week, 4 alcohol a week, 5 fruits/veggies + per day, exercise 4+ times per week. I think if I do all of this and make somewhat sensible choices for other foods, I wll be able to maintain at my desired goal weight. To loose, I think I need to do all of this and keep my other food choices within my daily points range. To do that? I NEED TO JOURNAL! What happened there? no one knows.

I CAN DO THIS. I AM ALREADY DOING BETTER. THIS LIFESTYLE CHANGE WILL NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT, BUT I AM MAKING PROGRESS AND IT IS REFLECTED IN HOW I LOOK AND FEEL.

Bailey - really enjoyed your post. Made me think about what I am doing right, what I am doing wrong, and where I want to be as well. Thanks!

So, in that spirit, here is where I want to be: Activity, most weeks 7 days/week; Water, 10 8 oz servings/day; Veggies, 5/day; Fruits, 2/day; diet coke 1/day.

Probably good to think that all out & write it down.

Bailey - I liked your post too, it's something that I should do to really look at how things have changed or what I do right or wrong. That's where the journals are so good. I find that if your progress slows down you can go back to the weeks where you lost weight and see what you were doing differently.

Thanks to everyone who told me that my good work would catch up with me, I guess it sort of did. This week I had a 1.5 pound loss. I'm really happy with that but considering I lost nothing last week it doesn't make for a great average. Still I can't complain, if I kept losing like that I will certainly make my goals!!! So things are moving along and I hope they keep on going.

My scale at home is getting flaky, so I'm not 100% sure how accurate these results are. I need to invest in a better scale, any suggestions?

Still, despite the Halloween party this weekend, it looks like I'm down another 1#. I've gotten too slack the past 2 weekends. If I can get myself to be vigilant on weekends again I can do 6# in 3 weeks & actually meet my goal.

HELLO

I listened to my DR. Phil tapes to & from the ortho today and it really helps! Today I was on the last tape of the series and he talked about setting goals and what successful people do. Just what I needed to hear.:)

Elisa - Hooray! Congrats on the loss! Now if you keep going, maybe you'll get another big one next week.:D

Legal - Congrats on your loss! I sure had a "weekend problem" this past weekend myself and know that I have to be more vigilant also.:dizzy:

VERY SAD that I can't go to WW this week. Last minute plans to go to cape cod for the weekend and the closest meeting is 40 minutes away! I am going to take this opportunity to get back to going mondays or tuesdays (rather than saturdays), so it will not actually be so long between weigh ins this week. "unoficial and low due to alcohol dehydration" weight = 149.5!!! Wish it would stay there..

Well I'm getting closer to the goal - almost there!! Weighed in this morning and I was down to 160.0 - down 1.5 lbs. Yay!! So all I'll have to do is have any loss and I'll make my goal. I just have to keep up the good work. I have the odd bad day but I mostly manage to stay within my points and if I have a bad day I try to be really good the next couple of days to even things out. So here's the stats:

Well sometimes I feel like I'm the only one tracking my TD Goal but that's okay since I made it as of this morning. I know my goal wasn't too big but that's okay, I feel better making my modest goal than not making a huge goal. Anyway, I still have some time to TD so I'm hoping to lose a little more except I've found my body seems to have one bad week a month and I think next week is that week. Maybe that means I have to try harder! Here's the stats:

Weigh in was last night and I lost 1.2 pounds. Since my next weigh in would be on Thanksgiving, this may be my last one for this goal - unless I have time next week to find another meeting. I did not do very good on my goal - I was up & down and only ended up losing .4 from my starting point as of last night. Atleast I didn't gain, I guess.

I am up for a New Year's goal if anyone else is interested. Although at this time of year, maybe I should just hope to maintain!:lol:

OK, well, I pretty much bombed out on my Thanksgiving Day goal. I will try again for Christmas. I have temporarily dropped out of WW to concentrate on exercise, because I feel that is what I need right now.

I will WI on my home scale tomorrow AM and post the results.
