My goal for the year is to get under 200. For me that means a loss of 53 pounds.

Method? Consistency, exercise, not eating late at night, not allowing junk into the house. Planning meals in advance and having the proper foods on hand to cook and serve.

My goals are:

1. regular exercise 5 x a week
2. lose 4 lbs. (so I weigh less on the dr. scales) it bugs me to be 143 on mine and 147 on his.
3. stick to low carb plan and write my food down daily.
4. get outdoors for more yardwork and physical activity, IE. plant hedges.
5. keep healthy food options in the house at all times.
6. build up some endurance on my new elliptical.

I think I can get to my goal weight this year - but only if I commit to some INTENTIONAL exercise! So with that in mind:

1. Walk 10,000 steps 5 days per week

2. Walk 5,000 two days per week

3. Pilates - 5X

4. Weights - 5X

If I don't make goal weight with this plan - "oh well" - at least I'll be healthier and fitter - which is my ultimate goal!:)

Goals: To eat healthier and attempt to get exercise in. I'm trying to be realistic and make my goals do-able so I don't look back at the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" type excuses. I know my goals are do-able!!!

In 2007 I will:
1. Reach my new "mini" goal wt of 175 by sticking to my other goals
2. Staying OP (with preplanned exceptions) just like I've been doing - and it's worked so far!
3. Preplanning my workouts starting next week.
4. Start work on my BSN (Bachelor's degree in nursing)
5. Plan my time better - not just slop through my weeks - it's time to prioritize!

:carrot: Hi Everyone!

I'm new but have been reading and thank everyone for all the useful info!

I did Atkins a couple years ago and lost the 20 pounds I needed to lose but retreated to past behaviors. I now have decided this is going to be a life change....it's the only way to eat where u can eats lots of food and still lose weight or maintain!

Goals : 30 pounds and quit smoking! I have had the same goals most of my life, losing and regaining, and now with menopause approaching I want to do this and move onto something else!

I woke up on the morning of my 39th birthday (December 22) and realized I have been fat for over 1/2 my life and the only way I was going to change that was to quit "trying" to lose weight and to actually DO IT. I don't want to be fat forever and have been waiting for something to happen in my life to miraculously make me thin and fit. Hah!

My goal for 2007:

To lose 50 lbs
To exercise 3-4 x a week.

I just found this site and am on Day 1 of induction so I guess I better set some goals:

#1: lose 65 pounds preferably by July 1st.
#2: exercise at least 4 times a week
#3: regain my health for my kids
#4: fit back into my size 6 (prepregnancy pants)
#5: stay in control of my eating (COE tendencies)
I'm sure I'll think of more, thanks!

My short term goal, just made today after reading all of your inspiring posts, is to lose 40 lbs by my birthday/mother's day (May 12/13)! The fact that we're spending that weekend at the beach needs to stay in the back of my head!!
I'm new to the website, and love it so far, I look forward to getting to know many of you!

An update on my weight goal of 25.5 lbs by June. Its not going to happen as its the middle of May and I only lost 10 lbs [lost 2 lbs per month]instead of the 4 I planned. I now have 15.5 to loss.

My new idea is to reach my weight goal by the end of this Year. That more doable as I lost 10 in the first half of the year now hopefully I will be able to loss the last 10 by the end of the year.

Hugs :) BB

my goals for 2007 - which is over in 5 months - yikes!
1) stick to low carb and get down to my goal of 145 - its going to be tough thats almost 10 pounds a month but realistically as long as i reach a healthy bmi and am more active and have a low body fat% the number doesnt really matter to much so.... between 145-155 i guess :)
2) make sure i am active every day and go to the gym 4 times a wk
3) eat lots of fruits(after induction) and veg and less preservatives
4) tone up!

I think I'm going to join in on this!

I hesitate to post a weight goal, because my body is so stocky and muscular that I've no idea how I'll look or feel at lower weights, so:

By Christmas of this year, I expect and intend to be wearing a size 4-6 in most brands and styles of clothing.

I also intend to continue toning my muscles and lessening this remaining layer of fat, so that when warmer weather returns next year I'll be confident enough to wear my first two-piece swimsuit. (Turbo Jam, don't fail me now! ;))

I will also improve my bellydancing through both home-based practice and at least one more class. Right now I don't have the money, but I will FIND a way. Guaranteed.

I think I want to get in on this too, even though the year is more than 1/2 over. My goal for the remainder of the year is to get under 200lbs....that would be a loss of 50+ lbs. That's roughly 10lbs per month for the next 4-1/2 months. So, if I stay on plan, exercise and drink plenty of water I should be able to do it.

I think I'll join you late-comers in posting my goals :)

By the end of 2007:

-- I plan to be at my goal weight (135) and be maintaining by the time I ring in 2008. I've got 18 pounds to go, so I'm not far off.

-- I'm shooting for a size 7/8 or 9/10 in jeans. Right now I'm ALMOST in 11's...so I'm thinking losing 18 more pounds and getting some exercise to tone will allow me to drop one or two more jeans sizes.

How's every else doing on their 2007 Goals?

My pedometer went whacky :dizzy: - I estimate that I'm getting over 10,000 steps a day (if memory serves on distances :^:) . . . nowhere near the other goals BUT I am healthier and fitter!;) Losing inches too.:) I think I've found a Pilates class at the Y I can make it too - just couldn't commit to my dvd. I'm making weights my #1 priority the rest of the year - just gotta DO IT! Revising weight goal to the 180's by Dec. 31 - I always seem to be waaay too optimistic in my goals in January - something about that whole looong year of possibilities stretched ahead of me?:p

Miss ya arkiekel/ladyadnerb/jokemo & chickadee! Hope you'll come by & say Hi!:)

My goal for 2008, is to just stay on target with my low carb eating. If I do I would hope everything will fall into place. Um other than exercise... I am so lazy, I need motivation from somewhere, I know the couch isn't providing any,,,
In 2007 I was convinced I didn't have the will power to loose a single pound or put the stops on my gaining.
