300+ Club - Discovery Health National Body ChallengeView Full Version : Discovery Health National Body Challenge princesspuffypants 12-28-2006, 02:55 AM Who's signing up? http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/about.html LookingForHope16 12-28-2006, 06:12 AM Who knows.... jillybean720 12-28-2006, 09:29 AM Wow, is it really all FREE? 8 weeks of a Bally's membership for FREE? Count me in, baby! I plan on losing weight anyway, so why not make it part of a challenge? ;) Registration starts tomorrow!! TransformingToni 12-28-2006, 11:27 AM I've been looking for something like this that I can do with my son. Yay! Thanks for sharing and COUNT ME IN! Lilion 12-28-2006, 11:46 AM You know, I signed up for that but never followed thru last year. Seemed like a good program though. I'll have to check it out again this year. dcapulet 12-30-2006, 08:33 PM i signed up, but i'm not sure why. maybe for the meal plan. maybe for the workout log. maybe for the weight tracker. not sure. i don't need a gym membership, but i love fads and new things. also, i want to change my life! and i like the exercise suggestions. ellencrn 12-30-2006, 08:40 PM i signed us as it is one more way to make me track my weight. we don't have a bally's here, but i have my own gym that is not a "spandex workout". just regular people like me. HarpoChicoGroucho 12-30-2006, 09:07 PM I signed up last year (and of course this year as well) and I won a sports watch! I still wear it -- it's pretty cool. The prizes aren't ultra expensive or anything, but it's still awesome to get something free. AND I can actually use my Bally pass now that I work close to one :carrot: Tara D 12-30-2006, 09:26 PM Can you sign up even if you are no longer losing weight? I'm moving and interested in trying Bally's out for the 8 weeks. jillybean720 12-31-2006, 09:25 AM Alright, chickies, I just went and signed up. I saw a place where you can create a "group." I went ahead and made a group called "3FC," but I think since I created it, that I have to invite other people to join it by using the email address they used to sign up. So, if anyone would like to join the 3FC group in the Discovery Health Challenge, just PM me the email address you used to sign up, and I'll invite you :) Tara--yupyup, you can sign up no matter what. They give you lots of goals to chose from other than just weight loss. Your goal could be to inmprove your fitness, improve your eating, exercise more, maintain your weight...there's a bunch of things we can do to be healthy even if we aren't losing weight! Mami 12-31-2006, 10:56 AM Tara D, I was just looking at the body challenge page and when you sign up you choose a challenge goal which could be losing weight but you can also choose "exercise more" or "lead a healthier lifestyle" (there are others to choose from). Tara D 12-31-2006, 11:57 AM Do you get full membership privileges at Bally's (including aerobics classes) or is it a restricted membership? I know with other promotions they've restricted the days or times you can go. Zeitgeist 01-04-2007, 08:14 PM Is anyone else having trouble with their site? Sometimes when I log in, I get a Discovery "page no longer exists" message, while at other times it loads but takes forever to come up. I often have to stop the page from loading and refresh it, as it seems to freeze. Also, does anyone know the benefits of the group? Can we chat to each other, or is it just a group with no apparent function? ellencrn 01-04-2007, 08:16 PM yes, this has happened ever since i signed up. anyone have any ideas as to why? or what to do? jillybean720 01-05-2007, 08:02 AM I wasn't sure what to expect with a group, but it seems pretty pointless if you can't talk to each other or anything. The way it is now, it looks like you can just see each others progress. While it's nice to know where your friends stand, I guess, I don't find it particularly helpful. Maybe some things will change when the actual challenge starts later this month. As for things not working on the site, I've had trouble with nothing happening when I click on some links. I click on it, and nothing happens! I don't even get an error message--just absolutely nothing changes. I thought maybe it was because I use FireFox at home instead if Internet Explorer, but if others are having some issues as well, then maybe it is just the site. dcapulet 01-05-2007, 05:55 PM i have had nothing but trouble with the site. and i agree with jill. if you all are doing well, that's great. but without a way to communicate there, it's pointless to me. jillybean720 01-16-2007, 01:29 PM haha, I checked in today and updated my weight (up 1.5 pounds). Well, when I went to our group part, it showed my "weight ststaus" as "66." 66? I have neither gained nor lost 66 pounds...I have no idea what this number means or where it came from :dizzy: It lists very high, strange numbers for everyone else in the group, too. Someone's was like 170, while someone else's was like 58...strange stuff. Zeitgeist 01-17-2007, 06:29 PM I noticed that too, Jill. Very odd indeed. princesspuffypants 01-17-2007, 06:43 PM its supposed to show how we've done as a group and not everyone has put in thier starting weight jillybean720 01-17-2007, 07:47 PM its supposed to show how we've done as a group and not everyone has put in thier starting weight But I put in a starting weight, so I don't know why it says 66--it says that for just me, not for the whole group. It said 500-something for the whole group (which can't possibly be how much we've lost or gained, nor how much we all weight total, so I can't figure out what it is). vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
