Well, I hope all of you had a great Christmas. Mine was OK, nothing special. I hate to be bah-humbug-y, but I'm just really not all that into the holiday "season." I love the music and the lights, but the gifts leave me cold.

Shelley, I love the new bike. I'm so jealous! I'm gonna be one of the New Year's gym "bunnies" next week. I don't plan on dropping it this time, though. I just really miss my OLD gym.

Class starts next week and I still haven't decided if I want to take one or two. I'd really LIKE to take them both, but I know I'll be SOOOO busy making loans in the next few months. I just THINK of all that work and I feel overwhelmed. But I feel like I'll be letting the professor down if I sit one of the classes out (same prof both classes). Debbi, what's your take on that?

Anyway, I'll try to check in more on this thread.

Great to see you, Sherry.

12-27-2006, 07:36 PM
Thank you, Cheryl for such a great name for this thread! If only the MIA ladies would checkin! I miss them all so much.

Happy Birthday Sherry!!!!!!

I hope it's a great one!

Happy Birthday, Sherry! You should stop by more often!

So where is everyone else? Kind of quiet in here the past few days. Must be the holidays.

I'm back on track. The house guests are gone. Most of the wine is gone (no more temptation!) I got up and exercised this morning. I need to lose that weight I've gained since Thanksgiving--my jeans are a bit tight this morning!

Everyone have a great day!

12-28-2006, 01:25 PM
Sherry I was just checking in to wish you a Happy Birthday and I see our friends beat me to it. I hope that you have a wonderful day and that you would find time to come and visit with us. All the best Sherry.

Allison that is good news to hear that you are back on track. I went back to the gym yesterday and I will be swimming this afternoon. I haven't been there since saturday. That is a long stretch for me.

Cheryl thanks for starting a new thread. I am sorry to hear that you didn't get an exciting gift from Santa. Christmas can be a let down for a lot of folks.

Time to get some lunch on the go. Larry is working on redoing Dez's bedroom. We are going to rewire it and drywall it. It still has plaster. It is one of the last rooms that we haven't renovated. Larry doesn't work til the 2nd so this will keep him out of trouble. I am hoping that in January he can finish the drywall and prime. If he doesn't paint til after we get back from Mexico that would be fine with me.

Have a good one everyone.

Hello

Thanks so much for the warm birthday wishes. I've had a great day so far! Debbie & her DD took me out for lunch at Logans.Debbie bought me a leather jacket and I bought a new purse and shirt with b/d money I got.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.Ours was sort of slim this year but we still had a good one I guess.

My Son Chris got married to Dayna on Nov.24th. It was a beautiful wedding. They got to spend 3 nights togther in Gatlinburg before he had to leave to go back to Washington (where he's stationed in the Navy). He flew in on Christmas Day! Him & Dayna hve gone back to WA now. They drove a UHaul back with all their things.Dayna will fly back here on the 8th.Chris will then leave for Hawaii for 6 weeks of diving school then he'll be put on a Sub (again!) Dayna won't be able to join him and make married life togther until May when she graduates. She'll be a licensed Nurse Practioner then.

I've got to go..Wayne will be home anytime now. He's taking me out for dinner.

Looking forward to being back AND GOING BACK ON WW!!!! I gained so much weight :(

Love all...

:hb: Happy birthday Sherry! :hb:

It sounds like you had a good birthday! I'm glad that you're back with have been missed!

Cheryl ~ Good for you for getting back to the gym! You're right...we all need to recommit and stick with it! No excuses!

Allison ~ Sounds like you are getting motivated again too...keep it up!

Dee ~ How have you been feeling lately? When do you go back to the doctor?

Here's a wedding picture............

Happy Birthday Sherry!

Cheryl, If there is any way you can take both classes, take them. Are they both heavy on reading or are they different? As a teacher, I think no education is wasted, but even with that said, I would not want a student to be in my classes and stressed out over the work. I would rather someone take one class at a time, learn the material and enjoy the journey of the education, rather than be stressed and worried about money, getting homework done, and well basically life. The actual journey of your education is as important to you as the degree at the end. Enjoy the journey, if you do, you will never stop learning even after leaving school.

Just got home from WW where I am up half a pound. With all the Christmas cookies I ate, I am thrilled! Back on track now. Going to change WW days, and go to meeting on Tuesday. We like that leader so much more, much more motivating to me, so going to switch. Also works better for this semester's schedule.

12-29-2006, 07:53 AM
Sherry-Thank you for the pictures. The wedding looked beautiful. Are you very close with Dayna? I know you will be a wonderful MIL (hopefully your DIL is wonderful also!) Is Wayne a proud FIL? How is his finger? How is Debbie? I am so glad that you both are still best friends. Is she still at the middle school? I wish she would make it back over here also. I guess I'd better quit asking questions.

Ladies, I have been sweet-free for 3 days!! I am taking it 1 day at a time, and might make the weekends my sweet days. That will give me something to look forward to, and also that's when I do my long runs or bike rides so I have an excuse :) If anyone would like to join my sweet free (actually, it's sugar free, not splenda free) challenge, please do!

A very convaluted pro/con list:

For the class that I've decided to take, there are 10 required novels--all by D.H. Lawrence or Aldous Huxley. That in itself is a load. The other class is a Medieval Literature class, which focuses on Norse literature rather than British, like most Medieval classes do. I think the reading list for that class is only 4 or 5 works, but they're "heavy" reading.

The class I'm taking is 1 night/week (Tuesday) from 5:00 to 7:45 and the other is T/R from 9:30-10:45. I wouldn't be able to attend the morning class because I've used my vacation time to less than 80 hours and I don't want it to go any lower right now. I don't like the idea of taking a class that I never attend, even though he told me he'd do it like an independent study. I just don't know what to expect from that.

Then there's the money aspect of it--I'm paying out of pocket (on credit cards) and I really don't want to charge $1,400 right now. See, I have really good excuses for not taking the class--the guilt just outweighs the excuses!!! Guilt, guilt, guilt.......

If I take both classes, I'll only need one more class to graduate, which means I'd be able to take my comps and (I hope) graduate in December. If I only take the one I'll graduate in May of 2008.

12-29-2006, 10:15 AM

Great picture!

Please do tell Debbie we all miss her. I wish she'd drop in and say hi sometime!

Love ya girl,

12-29-2006, 10:26 AM
Cheryl, can you go to this prof and ask what he/she is teaching in the summer (if you take summer classes) or fall. Maybe that will help you decide. We know a couple years ahead what we are teaching, subject to change due to enrollment numbers, but we do have some idea.
The two you are talking about, seem like a heavy load, so that is one very good consideration. I do know, taking a class as a independent study is difficult but I find them more interesting, as I can go at my pace, not the classes. I am more of an independent learner, so if you are, that is another pro, if you aren't an independent learner, it is a con.

Have had a very productive day here, making a chicken soup! Also a sweet potato chicken dish for dinner in the crock pot. Both dishes are on WW core, so that is good to get back on track. Even got up and did an exercise DVD! Now off to shower and get ready to tackle the laundry mountain!

12-29-2006, 11:06 AM
Cheryl, that sure sounds like a lot of reading (for either class)! Good luck on your decision.

Shelley, WTG for not eating sweets! I got up and exercised again this morning despite getting only 5 hours of sleep (DD still hasn't gotten her license and she worked until after 11:00 last night and I had to pick her up).

Sherry, that's a beautiful photo. Love the dress! I didn't have a traditional wedding dress for my wedding. Photos like that make me wish I had....

It's rather busy here (outside). Helicopters flying overhead every 5 minutes or so. I assume they are in part watching the traffic. You see, the funeral is less than 2 miles from my house and a major highway into town has been closed and traffic diverted closer to my home. It may be interesting trying to get to work and home again! I almost want to stay home and take the dogs for a walk--but they may not allow that. (I could go to the funeral, but would have to drive 8 miles east to take a shuttle back to my neighborhood!!) My usual walking route takes me past the church and then one street along my route is completely turned into a parking lot for all the media. Its amazing how fast they all converged on the area! I remember when Senator Bono died and his funeral took place. I was at home for that (I don't remember why) and was glad due to all the road closures for that funeral.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

12-29-2006, 03:35 PM
so today I have a job interview. But working at mcdonalds. I used to work at mcdonalds and hated it and I dont know how much i am going to like it here either. But I gotta take what I can get right now keep applying and eventually I will get the job I want. This way I can have some money in my pocket. save for college. be :-). I want to take some italian classes when i go to college if i have some time and moneyt o spare. I may take summer courses over italian. I acually have this vision of living in italy and stuff. I know its a silly childish dream but I have always loved italy. I speak some italian. Salve. ma ha fatto a peachire do conoshirla. to anyone who speaks italain. I love europe. I have family in italy who make wine , they have a winery and i'd love to meet them. I know you can get a degree in launguage studdies but it wouldnt help me much in the future.

12-29-2006, 03:57 PM
Sherry thank you for sending me the wedding pictures. Wow is all I can say. What a beautiful couple. Mother too.
It sounds like you had a busy and wonderful birthday. You deserve it.

Shelley it is tough going sugar free. I would love to join you but not ready yet. Maybe on Jan 2nd. I still have some treats in the house that I want to enjoy.

Vouge if you don't have dreams you won't get anywhere. Keep dreaming.

Cheryl big choice to make. That would be a lot of reading.

Allison I hope that you don't have to go anywhere with all that traffic. Good for you that you are back on track and exercising.

Suzy I am waiting for a letter in the mail with my appointment for with the cardiologist. I have no clue how long I will have to wait for the appointment. I am feeling ok, my heart is having a few hiccups I hope that they can determine why.

Today Larry took Jay out to go car shopping for us. I told him when he has decided which one I will go and have a ride and help negotiate the deal. We will probably buy one today or tomorrow if things work out.

Hey Gayle where did you go? Are you being naughty again with Elfie?
How was Allisons christmas?
I am sure you ladies won't mind if I sign off and go for a walk. I will try to convince Larry to go to the gym with me tonight.

12-29-2006, 06:13 PM
Allison-Wow, that's very exciting, about the funeral. I hope you are able to dodge the traffic. Isn't DD's appointment on Tuesday for the license? Sounds like mom needs a break!

Dee-Have fun car shopping. Any special one you are looking for?

Where are you, Gayle? I hope everything is okay with you and yours. I hope Allison and Liz both had a wonderful Christmas. Anything exciting happening for New Years?

12-29-2006, 08:33 PM
I'm here girls, just feeling under the weather. I have been sick since the day after Christmas. Allison had her braces fitted a week ago and has been sick too with a full blown asthma episode, the doc is treating her asthma aggressively, using a peak meter, antibiotics, steriods and advair up to 3 times daily. Can we say fun? I am spending most of the day brushing teeth and doing the special care along with treating for asthma. I have an upper resp. thing going on too...hopefully I can get over it without a trip to the doc. Can you believe it? It is the end of December when we have snow 7 ice and we are having a thunderstorm? Ice and snow to come later tonight.

Sher, nice to see a posting from you!

Dee, is the car for you or Jay?

Vouge, everyone needs to start somewhere, take the job at MD's and continue to look elsewhere. At your age and employer isn't expecting you to have experience.

Friends, could you please add a person to your prayer list? She is a sister of a friend of the family.
Here is the email:

Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing to you to let you know about my sister. Last Weds, Dec. 20th she found out that she has breast cancer. It is a rare kind called Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Go to this website to learn more about it:

On Dec. 26th she went to the doctor in Stillwater to have port put in her chest so that she could begin chemotherapy immediately. Unfortunately, as they were putting in the port they punctured her lung. So they had to admit her to the Stillwater Medical Center. They did a procedure yesterday, Weds, to try to close up the puncture quicker, so they can start the chemo. She is in quite a bit of pain, and they have her on morphine. Also, yesterday we found out that the cancer is in her bones, spine, liver, and lymph nodes. As you can see this has become very serious in a hurry.

Today they hope to give her the chemo medication. They are hoping to get this started as soon as possible. They also think that once they have her lung healed up she will be able to go home. Dana is very strong, healthy woman and has a positive attitude at this time. We would like to encourage all of you to pray for her and her doctors.

Anyone have plans for New Years? we were to have a party, but now with everyone feeling yucky, we are going to act like old people and stay home. We will probably even be in bed by midnight.

12-29-2006, 09:00 PM
Shelley the car is for us. Larry took out a Hyundai Sonata twice this week. I don't think that he is happy with it though. We have an Intrepid that is fully loaded and he likes the luxury of it. It is old and starting to give us problems so it is time for a new one. Jay just bought a New Caliber in the spring.

Gayle I am sorry to hear that you are sick. Poor Allison, sore mouth and feeling crappy not being able to breath. You must be worried and worn out. No wonder you are sick. At least you were well for Christmas. Take care sweetie.

We don't have any New Year's Eve plans except to have a nice gourmet meal at home. I don't like big celebrations for New Years. On New Year's Day we will be going to my mom and dad's for dinner with everyone. They are leaving for BC on the 4th til April 1st. That will be the last time we see them til spring.

12-30-2006, 08:46 AM
Gayle-I am sending special prayers out for your friend and her family. How horrible about the puncture to compound things. I hope you and Allison feel better soon.

No New Years plans for us. Just the usual stay at home and go to sleep before the ball drops (for me at least.)

Dee-What's on the menu?

12-30-2006, 12:46 PM
Thanks everyone.

I popped in a new workout dvd and did that for 45 minutes today, I know they say you should do 60 mins of cardio eveyrday to lose weight but I dont think its necesarry when you do a workout like I did , besides I may go with my sister for a walk with baby today for a jog for me. I am going to get back on track today. I worked out so much and I am so motivated right now so I want to keep myself busy with things.

Hey does anyone know about Mycokerewards? I enter in points everyday from diet cokes and now I am getting a free mp3 player sent to me in the mail on wendsday I am so excited I have wanted a player forever but never wanted to dish out the dough. plus my brother in law works at the recycling center and he brings me home points everyday so I didnt pay one dime for it. I dont even pay for shipping.

dee- a new car soudns fun , I have a car but it needs some repairs , once I start work now I am going to get it fixed so when I get my lisence on the 20th I can drive it.

gayle- oh my I am so sorry!!! My grandfather has cancer in his prostate , bone and lymph , hes 86 , i dont know how much longer hes going to make it , but me so far mabey my sister and mom are all flying out to chicago in march for my spring break and to visit. your sister is in my prayers. My aunt also had breast cancer and over came it.

I have no new years plans. No parties or anything. Im not into that. Prob spend the time with my family. keeping them up . yay i guess. new years is kinda boring to me.

12-30-2006, 02:40 PM
Vogue-Wow, that's great about the MP3 player. Good going on the workouts. Start off slow, so as not to get burned out.

12-30-2006, 03:39 PM
Gayle ~ Special prayers are being said for sounds like she is going to have a rough road ahead of her.

I'm also sorry to hear that you and Ali have been so sick! Shawn had asthma growing up, so I know how long those nights (and days) can be when they can't breathe. It's no wonder that you are sick must be exhausted! I hope you are both feeling better very soon!

Dee ~ I'm glad to hear that you're feeling ok...hopefully that appointment will come through soon! They sure do things differently in Canada than they do here, don't they?

Allison ~ Your DD was the first person I thought of when they said that Tuesday would be a national day of mourning! Will your DMV be open?

Vouge ~ Congratulations on the free mp3 player! That will be the perfect thing to have when you are out walking or jogging! Woohoo!

Shelley ~ We have the same plans here for New Year's Eve. We'll probably rent a DVD or something, but I doubt that we will be up late enough to see the new year come in.

Cheryl ~ Have you decided what classes you are taking yet? Sounds like a LOT of reading to me...I don't think I could handle even one of them! I really give you a lot of credit for sticking with your education!

Sherry ~ Thanks for sharing the photo with looks like it was a beautiful wedding!

12-30-2006, 04:59 PM
Good afternoon all! The funeral is over--I didn't get to watch too much of it on TV, though. We decided against trying to go to pay our respects--there was a 2 hour line to get on the shuttle and another 2 hours to get inside the church. It went all night long. This morning, I had to take the dogs to the vet for vaccinations, and was there when the motorcade left the church. I was starting to fret a bit as the vet was quite slow (1 hour!) and I had to get back to take Dana to work. As I drove to the vet, there were police stationed all over--ready to close off our main artery for the motorcade and I had to start thinking of alternate routes home!

I also thought about the fact that the DMV may not be open on Tuesday. I'll have to check. I just can't think about another disappointment for DD!!!

I didn't get any exercise today--like to take Saturday's off. But I'm down 1/2 a pound and am eating very well!

Take care everyone and have a wonderful new year!

12-30-2006, 10:01 PM
Allison, how sad about President Ford. All of our Goverment offices will be closed here on Tuesday too. Good luck with the driving test!

Sher, I can't believe Chris is married! How is Drew?

vouge, congrats on the MP3 player! Great job saving and turning in the points! I bet BIL is excited for you too since he had a helping hand.

Dee, new car yet??

We are staying home New Years Eve, no party, nodda....I think we are all worn out. Not to say the 22 year old won't have a late night of partying!
I am emotionally/physcally drained, I love my job but the employer/co-workers (some) need to be medicated! I am to the point of turning in my two weeks. HOPEFULLY, I can find something that fits into Allison's school schedule. Every time I think about today at work, I end up in tears. I wish I was the type of person to just let things slide off my back and not bother me. The employer keeps saying "we are a team" so if one member screws up, none of us get holiday bonuses. Stinks for those of us who work our butts off. I now found out management each received a minium of $100.00 for the week of Christmas sales, while "us little people" didn't receive anything. I would of been happy with $20.00-$25.00, but nothing. We will see what the week of New years sales bring...honestly, I could care less about the money, it's the princible. Sorry to get grouchy with you guys but I needed to vent somewhere and my family here is getting pretty tired of me.
I feel completely worn out, what do you guys do to lift yourself out of a funk?

12-30-2006, 11:22 PM
I'm really BACK!! Bet you don't believe me!

I'm soooooooo tired!! I worked the Music City football game yesterday (KY & Clemson).Today I did cleaning & laundry. Tomorrow is the LAST Titans game that I'll work this season! I'll miss all that extra money. Maybe I'll rest up before I go back to work on Friday (5th). All the students come back on Monday (8th).

Gayle....Please get outta your funk. I hope you feel better soon.Look at everything you have to be thankful for.If you only knew what Wayne & I went through for 6 months.We really hit rock bottom.Maybe you'll think of this and it will make you smile. I love & miss you! {{{{HUGS!}}}
By the way...SANTA has got to go! (your avaitor)

Have a nice & safe New Years!!

12-31-2006, 07:10 AM
Gayle-You are so good at what you do. I will be very surprised if you don't get some kind of bonus on the check after the New Year. Do you know what you would want to do instead? I think anything retail will conflict with Allison's schedule unless you are able to get something at the school itself. Your crafts are so lovely. Maybe you want to think about continuing on with your teaching of painting? The main thing is that you need to be happy with whatever you do. Believe me, no job is a cup of tea, no matter what anyone says. A job is a job is a job, unfortunatly! (I'll get off my pedistal now!!)

Sherry-Is Debbie still working the games with you? Still the old Sherry working and cleaning!! I wish you could come and help me with this fiasco of a house I live in. I just organized my walkin closet, but it took me my whole vacation to do it (mainly because I am such a slug and watched tv in bed for most of each day.) I threw out about 20 pairs of shoes! I still have at least 100 left, but now I feel like I am shoeless! How is your health nowadays?

Question to all of you. I bought Patty a Coach purse yesterday (she wanted a brown one.) She thinks I was going to get her the Tiffany bracelet or necklace that she wanted, but I stood my ground and decided that should be for her 18th. Anyway, I went to Naples yesterday to get it. I am afraid she will want to exchange it. Should I wait until the 13th (her birthday) to give it to her, or go ahead and do it now, so that she can exchange if needed and have it for her birthday without waiting to exchange? Yesterday I told her that I bought her birthday present and she said it better not be a Coach purse because she hasn't seen one she wants. This is one that they just got and I know she hasn't seen it yet. Check it out--it's on this page.. It's the $348.00 Carly with the Coach letters with the brown trim. Mike would murder me if he knew the price!

12-31-2006, 12:07 PM
Great Job allison, I need to get out of my funk forever.

Gayle- Thats how I felt last time I worked at mcdonalds. they were anal about eveyrhting , I would go home crying at times. It was mostly one manager she was alaways on my butt and made me wanna kill her I acually sad to say but had a dream about killling her once. even after i quit I had a dream or two of her yelling me. and i know it was a racial reason cause I was white and she was black. she never yelled at the black girls but it was always my fault cause i was white. I would tell them im going on break my drawer needs to be locked out and she would say i know how to do my job then when my check came I would be short an even numebr of money like 5.00 . so someone was steeling from me.When I almost quit once I told her I was sick cause she irritated me so much I wanted to cry and she said its not my problem. ask frank ( the other manager ) so I told him I needed to go home and hes like you can go at 3:30 and it was like 12 and I was supossed to get of at 4 . Im like no I need to go now. and i left. if I wasnt already moving and had to quit I swear I would have thrown some racial slurs in her face and left forever. she would say things to me like I dont need this bullsh*t today amy, and when are you going to learn to do this , and just mean things . anywayss when I need to get out of a funk i either cry alot to myslf or I kickbox.

Shelly- your daughter would have to be pretty selfish to not accept that bag. For that price I wouldnt care so much. she sounds pretty picky . I dont know.

12-31-2006, 01:25 PM
Shelley ~ I have to agree with our resident teen about the birthday gift. I would wait until her actual birthday...Patty should be more than happy with the bag! Shoot, I'm sure there are more than a few of us here who would be more than happy with a bag like that!

Gayle ~ Sounds to me like you need some sleep and some quality "me time"! I hope you're feeling better soon!

Sherry ~ It's great to have you back!

Happy New Year Floozies! Here's to a happy, healthy, successful new year to us all! :hat:

12-31-2006, 03:02 PM
Shelley I think that it should be a birthday surprise, wait til the day. Her Mommy loves to spoil her. Awesome purse, you have great taste! What are you going to do when they are adults?

Gayle I am sending you a big hug. I wish that you were feeling better. I feel privilege that you share with us how you are honestly feeling. Like Sherry said it sucks but there is worst off. That is what I do is think about how lucky I am and if you think about it do the math our blessings out weigh the bad.
No new car yet, we just don’t know what to get. The onley thing that I wanted Larry to look for is one that is a little more energy efficient. He wants comfort and all the gadgets.
Have you heard any more about your friend? I hope that she is doing a bit better.
I was planning on a real big meal for today but we have just been none stop eatting so we decided to go a little lighter. I am going to make wonton sprimp, strawberry almond salad (it has spinach, romaine lettuce, mandarin oranages with a homemade raspberry vinaigrette), and a gourmet pizza (homemade crust with roast red and yellow peppers, red onions marinated in balsamic vinegar with italian sausage) wine and lemon cake with lattes.

Suzy yes things are done very differently here. It is soo slow. The good thing is most things are covered and we don’t pay insurance for doctors, operations etc. We do have to pay 20% for the dentist but Larry’s work covers the rest of the bill.

Vouge I am glad that you are motivated again. Keep it up it helps incourage the rest of us. I use my MP3 player all the time when I walk and work out. I hope that you will really put it to the test.
How is that new little baby doing?

Allison way to go on the 1/2 pound down. It all adds up. I hope that DD will be able to do her test on Tuesday.

Sherry I am so glad that you are back with us. Spend some me time today and some Wayne time too. I am glad that things are looking up.

I hope that this New Year will bring many happy times memories. May you all be blessed.

Have a Hppy New Year.

Happy New Year everyone!! Hope everyone has a a happy and "losing" 2007!!!

We are going out tonight, to a very nice place, reservations at nine. They time dinner so we get dessert after midnight. Should be a fun night, but tired tomorrow! Rob also has Tuesday off, due to it being a national day of mourning for Pres. Ford. He is happy for the extra day, but saddened why he has it off.

Vouge how is that little baby doing? Also, after things calm down from the holidays, we will "chat" about school, financial aid and all that. I haven't forgotten!

Shelley, if you daughter doesn't want the bag......seriously, it is beautiful!

Dee, hope you hear from the dr. soon and get your appointment. Things are really different there. Good luck finding the perfect new car!

Gayle, hope you are feeling better, take some me time and do what you want to do!

Allison, hope your DD can take the test Tuesday.

Sherry, any decisions on the classes?

Happy New Year Floozies!

I wrote this earlier on my desk top and am doing the copy & paste thing in case I lose internet quickly! Happened as I was writing this a few minutes ago. Sorry it is all a jumble, but wanted to let you guys know you may lose me for a few days.

Shelley, would you adopt me please? I would LOVE to have a bag like that! I have never owned a purse costing more then the double digits. I think she should like it, it is very young and hip looking. I agree with Suzy, wait until her birthday, it will make it more special.

I rested and I am still cranky!!! LOL! I know life is just catching up to me and I also know with any job there is the good & the bad, I also know it's not just me when there are about 5 other employees ready to leave too. In fact, we hired 4 new employees this past 1.5 months and all have quit after a few days. The longest made it 2 weeks.
We had an ice storm hit here! Most of our city is shut down with no electricity. You know it has to be bad when it shut down Walmart and the grocery stores! I will try going back to town later today to see if I can pick up a few groceries somewhere. We were without internet and television service up until a few minutes ago. If I disappear for a few days you know it's because of the storm and we lost electricity etc. Tree's are covered with ice and broken down everywhere. Luckly, I think we are going to get through it without any damage to the property.

Sher, I'm glad to see you back and I really do hope you realize you have some dear friends here who love & miss you while your gone. I'll change my Santa ASAP! LOL!

Dee & Janice, are you guys ok? I just read on the net Canada was getting hit bad with a storm.

Well, I'm going, best wishes to all of my friends for a great 2007, I will check in later if I can.

Gayle-Please stay safe.

I ended up giving her the purse, and of course we were back to the store today, where she traded it for a different one (actually cheaper!) Then we went to the Coach outlet so she could get a matching wallet. She thought the purse looked "old lady." The person at the counter thought she was crazy because it's been one of the top sellers since the day after Christmas, which was when they were allowed to put it out.

I am off Tuesday also, so I am happy about that.

Too All My Floozie Friends:

Baby is great. he was supossed to be born orginonally today but he has gotten so much bigger , and cuter. His hair always sticks up and it fuzzy so i call him FUZZ. Hes got some monster feet too and long legs . his premie clothes are too small for him now. Oh and you should see the way he lifts his head. he soemtiems holds his head on his own then rests it again and yesterday he was trying to turn over I swear. he was putting his foot under his other and trying to flip over. I tell ya he is trying to grow up way too fast.

dee- I workout eveyrday or try to woth my cdplayer but its so bulky I cant wait for the mp3. you gunna luagh but I acually stick the cd player in my bra while im working out cause i have no where else to put it.

lYnn- Thats greta. Im only a sophmore but I have enough credits to be a junior if I wanted , but I am going to take dual enrollment and get some free college.

Gayle- where do you work? that storm sounds nasty be safe....

shelly- I guess that she liked the newer one is important but thats pretty selfish in my own mind. but have a happy new year!

Gayle--I hope you don't lose electricity! Ice storms have got to be the worst. I hope your job stress lessens. Maybe the bums you work with that cause all the problems will get canned!

Shelley--wow that is a nice bag! Too bad she thought it was too old for her. I stopped into Coach to look at a present for my SIL and ended up leaving. I just didn't want to spend that much! Very pretty bags, though.

Dee--may we ALL lose in 2007!

Cheryl--any decisions on classes yet?

Debbi--sounds like you'll have a very nice New Year's Eve. We're staying in tonight.

vogue--I hope whatever job you get works out okay for you. I know it's hard to understand why managers have to be so buggy about things. My DD has the same problem at times. She's a hostess and when no one is coming in to be seated, she likes to help the servers (serve food, refill drinks, buss tables) and her old manager liked her to do it. Her new manager wants her to stand at attention at the hostess booth all the time and not help out at all. She gets so confused!

We'll I'm down another half a pound today, but have so strength at all. I was so wiped out yesterday that I tried to take a nap and got interrupted twice! I ended up going to bed at 8:00 and was dead asleep by 8:30 and we didn't get up until 8:00!!! Then we had a big breakfast (low fat, high protein). I did a little running around and then the inlaws brought lunch and as soon as I was done, I had to go take another nap. Very weird. I was planning on getting Christmas decorations put away. Perhaps tomorrow.

Tomorrow we're going to PF Chang's for lunch to celebrate FIL and DH's birthdays (FIL is 1/1 and DH is 1/4). I hope everyone has a nice fun and safe new years eve!

I am down 3 lbs today for my first week of being sugar free and Core. Of course, I was up 2 when I started. Wednesday I have to prep for my colonoscopy, so I have to just drink all clear liquids. That will probably bring me down a few for the 1 day. I always enjoy seeing the number on the scale, even though it is just for a minute.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Shelley--congrats on the loss, however fleeting it may be!

I think it was Vouge who was telling about talking to the pie in the refrigerator and telling it how awful it was because it was full of sugar and fat. This morning there was a segment on the news with a hypnotist (Wendi Friesen) and she was talking about doing something very similar to help lose weight. She was saying every night before you go to bed to picture yourself as you are now with bad eating and exercise habits and all and then "blow them up" in your mind. Then imagine how you want to look in the future (at goal and in shape), imagine yourself working out and enjoying it, eating healthy, all those things that you want to be. She said that it creates a "future memory" and that you will want to become that person. There was more to it, but that's the gist of it. I'm not so sure about the hypnotizing part, but I think there really might be something to the positive thinking...just like Vouge telling the pie that it was full of fat and calories and that she wasn't going to eat it and she didn't. Definitely something to think about...

thats so funny cause thats something I just did one day. I dont know I have a lot of time and I do some werid things like that sometimes, I have a very silly peronality like yesterday i spent 20 minutes trying to fit my body into a laundry basket and I said by june I want to fit in the laundry basket. It was just a werid thing. I do that everynight thought. i dream off of being 125 lbs and doing things im not coniftent enough of right now like going to the beach and havig fun rather than being worried about how I look . Its all psycological. to meight weight loss if 90 percent motivation 10 percent work.

allison- yeah managers suck . I havent started at this mcdonalds but they seem semi normal so well see.

Debi how was your big night. It sounds like you know how to have a good time.

Gayle we often get the same weather patterns because I am just north of you, it is just colder up here. We woke up to 14 inches of freshly fallen snow New Year’s Eve. It took us two hours to shovel it out and another two hours for Larry to remove it off of our roof. It was so heavy he didn’t want the extra weight on the roof. We only had one other good snow fall this winter and that was when Larry was in Florida so I had to do all the shoveling. Oh yeah that is right there was one more earlier on and it was when Larry was in New Jersey. I am sure glad that he was home for this one.

Shelley I hope that you enjoy your day off today. What are you going to do? I am glad that you and Patty were able to get a purse that she liked. Is she going to use it before her birthday.
How often do you go for a colonoscopy? I hope that everything shows good.
It is so hard to get off the sugar but once you do it really does show the difference on the scale. I am going to drop the sugar today and wean myself off of sweeteners soon.

Vouge you are right I had to laugh at where you put your cd player. Hey you might as well make the best use of your equipment…
Glad to hear that your nephew isn’t giving you any problems and that he is behaving himself.

Allison congratulations on another ½ pound down. I am going to get my butt in gear and drop a few pounds this month before we go away.

Our dinner turned out great on New Year’s Eve. We finished early enough that we decided to head to the park for the 8:00 fireworks. After that we went over to surprise Larry’s step parents, they were celebrating their 10th anniversary. They had a group of friends over that were jamming so we even had great entertainment. We stayed til 12:30 and then headed home to hop in the Hot Tub. It was so clear out and the almost full moon was shinning down on us, it was just a magical winter night.

Yesterday for New Years Day I took down the Christmas ornaments. In the afternoon we went over to my parents for a big dinner. Almost the whole family made it so it was a good gathering. We won’t be seeing mom and dad now til April as they leave Thursday.

Has anyone tried cayenne pepper capsules? It is suppose to be good for many things. I am trying it to see if it warms me up. I think that it has kicked in today because my hands are really warm. It is also suppose to speed up your metabolism. Hey every little thing counts. I am drinking my green tea yet and so should YOU be. It really works.

Well time to get my swim stuff ready. Have a wonderful day.

01-02-2007, 01:23 PM
dee- yeah haha whatever works right? Make use of my assets. Hes great. we went tot hte doctor today. he was born like 4 lbs 6 oz. I think and now hes like 6 lbs 9 oz.s hes six weeks old. Those pepper things sound quite odd.

My brother in law went crazy on new years and bought like a zilion firewors I dont even know how much he epent. when ehe was a kid he wasnt allowed to have fireworks or candy or anything so its always funny when he has new expereinces like one time I think it was 4th of july we made smores and he ate like 15 of them! Hes like omg these are so good I never had these before I was never allowed. and he will buy like 10 boxes of resses puffs cereal and eat like huge bowls at a time. I feel bad for him but its so funny soemtimes.

anyone sticking to their diet so far?

01-02-2007, 01:56 PM
Dee--I have not taken the cayenne pepper capsules and don't know if they would work or not. My MIL is big on homeopathic remedies and one year I had a terrible chest cold and she had me drinking warm water with cayenne in it. Really caused some heat in the chest/esophogus area! I think the idea is the warmth will break up the congestion. Truthfully, I can't remember that it did much more than give me a warm feeling. But I do know that capsacin (sp?)--the stuff in cayenne--is supposed to boost metabolism. I just don't know how much or how much cayenne you have to take to really do much work. I'd Google it a bit more before you buy.

I didn't get any exercise in this morning--had to take DD to school. I'm off at noon to take her to the DMV for her test......updates later.

01-02-2007, 02:09 PM
Day two for me and yes, I'm still OP! Zero sugar, only healthy food and I'm staying within my calorie limits! I feel good! :carrot:

Dee ~ I've never heard of the cayenne pepper capsules. I'll have to check them out! I am always cold...especially my feet and hands! I complained about it to my doctor the last time I was in and joked that it was because my insulation was gone. He did blood work and thyroid tests, but everything came back within normal limits, so no explanation.

Allison ~ Did your DD get to take her drivers test today?

Gayle ~ How are things going there? Are you feeling better? Are you snowed in?

Shelley ~ I'll be thinking of you tomorrow...that prep is NOT fun! :p

01-02-2007, 02:38 PM
Cheryl ~ Have you decided what classes you are taking yet? Sounds like a LOT of reading to me...I don't think I could handle even one of them! I really give you a lot of credit for sticking with your education!

Yup, I'm taking the Tuesday night class. I'll probably go to the college bookstore on Saturday and buy the books.

Sherry, I hope you're really Back!!! I've missed you!

Shelley, that bag would work for me. :)

Gayle, I hope you get to feeling better soon. This place just isn't the same without our little  checking in regularly!

Stewart and I didn't go out for the New Year. We celebrated at home. He bought a half-gallon of cranberry juice and some smirnoff vodka. ymmmmm.

01-02-2007, 03:30 PM
Dee-I've never heard of the cayenne pepper capsules. I wouldn't touch them myself, since these hot flashes have been really getting to me, I can't imagine adding to it with the pepper :)

01-02-2007, 08:07 PM
:D :D :D Dana passed her driving test!!!:D :D :D

01-02-2007, 09:33 PM
:woohoo: Hooray for Dana! I guess the third time really is the charm! ;)

01-03-2007, 05:51 AM
Yay, Dana!!

01-03-2007, 08:50 AM
Yeah Dana!!! Congrats!!

01-03-2007, 09:30 AM ( CONGRATS DANA!!!

I'm with Shelley on the cayenne pepper. Hot flashes and night sweats are not fun.
I am going to research it for my daughter though. She is always cold. Her hands are like ice. She's had blood work testing her thyroid and all was okay.
I am one day totally on program. I can't believe I have gained so much weight. Party's over!!
Dee - We don't have any snow. We had a green Christmas, and only had the odd flurry so far. Roads are very slippery this morning due to heavy frost. (http://*********************************************************=ZSzeb095_ZNxmk042YYCA&utm_id=7923)

I did that thing where I just read the 1st page of posts and quick replied. . . . I didn't even realize there was a 2nd page of posts! I hate that! :o :o :o

Gayle, I hope you're OK up there in all the cold. I hope your family's livestock is ok, as well.

Hello to everyone else! I swear I'm not ignoring y'all, just too brain-dead to type to everyone right now! :?:
