Since this is such a hectic time, not everyone has time to post so let's try a weekly thread. Try to pop in just to say "Hi", OK?
Big week ahead of me with decorating, some wrapping, cooking and way too much holiday partying. Some of this stuff should be moved to January. Actually one of the usual events was changed to January 18th this year! :)Great idea!
I don't even want to talk about food! :nono: I avoided eating anything at the birthday party yesterday but got invited to the "family" dinner afterwards. Can you imagine doing prime rib for over 30 people! It was absolutely delicious though. Today's menu will include lots of water, salad and low fat protein!
Have a super day and do something to take care of yourself even if it's just as simple as taking five minutes and massaging in hand cream!
12-18-2006, 07:42 AM
This will be quick because I have an early morning hair appt. Ruth, it's so hard to stay totally OP this time of year, but I think if we eat well in between the partying, we should at least be able to maintain. I didn't do too bad yesterday, but I did indulge in a little dessert.
Gotta run for now!
12-18-2006, 08:32 AM
You are so right about this time of year being stressful and hard to stay on plan. I did good until yesterday.... Saturday I weighed in at 191 :) but I got on the scale this morning and was 192.5!:( :chef: I had to start making and baking our Christmas gifts for this year. I made 2 64 oz cookie jars filled with chocolate chip cookie mix.:cookie: We had extra ingredients left over so I made a batch for Daniel and a batch for him to take to work... oooo I had to try one! :cookie: I'm a big sucker for the cookie dough on the mixer attachments. I grew up on that! Guess thats where I gained!:cookie:
Tomorrow or Thursday I have to make a Chocolate Truffle Cake :hb: and some Chocolate and Vanilla cookies. :cookie: Thankfully the cookies will be a Splenda recipe so it won't be tooo terribly bad. :o
This morning I'm already starting off bad.... my cats took a lot of time to get into their bedroom this morning so I didn't get my usual eggs and water before heading off to work. :eating2: So I stopped at hardees. (Don't worry.... the grease is already punishing my stomach enough to make me regret it! :frypan: :kickbutt: ) I'll have to get a salad and big jug of water to flush that out at lunch!
Tonight is my last Algebra quiz.... Its on Rational Expressions and Roots and Radicals :barf: I'll have to spend all day studying for this one cause I'm sure it's going to be tough. I got an email back from the writing and math resource center saying that my rough draft of my paper was perfect and needed no changes. :write: Thank God! That's due Wednesday along with my lovely final exam!
Thankfully I'll be off from school a full week after Christmas. My boss has yet to give me a Christmas bonus! :stress: I need it bad. I think we only get the Friday before Christmas off and New Years Day.... I feel like I'm being jipped out of some vacation!
I goto the Nutritionist this Saturday.... I'm still nervous. :p
Ok I've done enough blabbing to write a novel..... off to study for 8 hours! :dizzy:
12-18-2006, 10:17 AM
Good Monday morning, everybody!
Ruth:Great idea starting a weekly chat! I know that my posts may be few and far between for the next few weeks. It's been hard for me to stay OP as well. Especially with all of the goodies rolling into the office lately! Hope your week is productive and that you don't get Christmased out before it's even Christmas!
Cottage:Wow! You're a busy lady! I guess it means that its a lot of exercise, though! ;)
Chellez:I bet you're REALLY looking forward to that time off from school! Good luck on your quiz!
ME:Well, I have not been OP much in the last few days. I start off doing well in the morning and most the time I'm okay until after lunch. Then I just end up eating whatever everyone else is eating. We had our nephew all weekend, so I think that drained a little bit of my energy for cooking. We ended up eating pizza one night. Ugh. Oh well. I didn't even get on the scale this morning, but I'm on the right track with breakfast and my workout out of the way!
There's a lot of stress going on around the house right now. My BIL took off for a black & white ball with his girlfriend this weekend and left nephew with us. We were happy to do it. He didn't leave us any food for him and also didn't let us know when he would be picking him up. He showed up Sunday and when we confronted him about it, he acted like he was doing us a favor by letting us watch nephew all weekend. Well, I do believe he's lost a babysitter for a few months at least. The only thing I'm really worried about is that he will take it out on us by not letting us see our nephew for Christmas. I think we're just going to have to be strong and deal with it. BIL has to learn that nephew is HIS responsibility and that nephew comes BEFORE girlfriend. It just breaks my heart, but if we give in, he'll just continue to walk all over us. That's not fair to us and I know that. I just hope all of this blows over soon!
12-18-2006, 11:31 AM
Hi all  Weekly thread sounds good to me Ruth!!!
Chellez: Boy I'm glad I'm not there! Everything sounds so Yummalish!!! Good Luck on your test! I think I aced my course! But I really gotta hunker down and really learn all these formulas!
Cottage: I cancelled my hair appt-- I came down with a doozy of a headache but rescheduled for tomorrow!
Kim: Sorry to hear about BILs attitude and hope he straightens up! I hope he doesn't withhold Xmas with his aunt and uncle-- he'd only be hurting his son.
Ruthie dahlink..a Pollyanna is when you buy a Xmas gift - bring it to a party, and exchange it with someone else. The twist is that each participants picks a number -based on your number is when you pick from the pile of gifts.. However, when your turn comes to pick, you can "steal" a gift from someone who has already picked forcing them to pick from the pile... and so it goes, the last person can steal anyones gift or take the last one... slightly devilish! Tis why you shouldn't get particularly attached to your gift
Ok have much to do !!! zip zip off I go!
12-18-2006, 01:07 PM
Wow.... it's one o'clock and I'm still feeling heavy from this morning's greasy breakfast. I got Daniel to get me a salad and water for lunch and I didn't even touch it! I'm saving it for dinner when hopefully I dont feel some icky.
Studying for the quiz is going well. I feel like I'm going to do a lot better on the roots and radicals portion than the rational expressions (I thought it would be the other way around)
Schatzi: you're not toooo far away.... you can come cheat with me! it's brain food I promise :crossed:
12-18-2006, 04:26 PM
Hi everyone -
I just wanted to re-introduce myself. My name is Anna I had been on SBD at the beginning of this year for about 4 months. Then my life got busy and stressful and I've gained all the weight back I'd worked so hard to lose. So I'm giving it another go (But just so I don't mess up right from the start, I think I'll start after the holidays. At least this time around, I know exactly what will need to be done (I think I can recite the P1 list from memory...ha ha). I've also joined Curves, which I think will help a lot.
Have a good day everyone!!
12-18-2006, 05:07 PM
Welcome back Anna
As for everyone else staying OP I am in the same boat. Candy...candy...candy...it won't go away and those holiday cookies...what can I say. I am good at keeping up with eating good for my three meals. I don't eat all that FAT FOOD but...well I work in the kitchen and that is where everyone drops off the goodies. For awhile I was putting them in the lunch room but they seem to have legs. The goodies always seem to find thier way back into the kitchen.
At least all the birthday parties for my kids are done. I am still working on finishing my school work. I have until Jan. 12 to get two chapters and 2 term papers done. I think I can manage. Maybe I'll be able to put up my tree.
Hope all is well with everyone.
12-19-2006, 07:27 AM
Well, I may have to break down and go to a shopping centre today! :( I have not been to one this season but need to replace a library book that has mysteriously disappeared. It's "The Jade Peony" and I've not finished it either. I'm to lead the discussion at my book club on January. Of course, I may just find it today as I'm on a lucky streak!
There's a bit more wrapping to do, a bit more decorating which is optional, silver polishing, my goodie baskets to make and some cooking ahead for my after Church party on Christmas Eve. I have been doing this for 22 years. When I'm 96 and in a wheel chair, I think it will still be expected!
Have a good and productive day, Beauties, and stay strong on Temptation Tuesday!
12-19-2006, 08:47 AM
:sunny: Rise and shine ladies!
So I bombed my quiz last night. :( Thankfully I had some extra credit built up that I could get a 75.8 but that's still terrible in my opinion. I'm going to retake the quiz today at home and hopefully I do much much better. I'm printing out my project today as well and it looks sweet! :) I went above and beyond what was asked of me but the professor doesn't seem to give 2 hoots. I wish I could strangle him :kickbutt: I have my final tomorrow so hopefully everything works out ok.... its open note so I should do fine I'd think.
I started the morning out right. The cats were nice enough to go in their room and I was able to cook the last of my eggs  and throw them in a container to rush off to work. I guess I'll have to stop by the store and pick up some things to make the splenda cookies :cookie: and chocolate truffle cake :hb:tonight.
I have a mountain of laundry to do. Honestly I wish I could go home and do all of these things instead of wasting my time here at work doing nothing. I have a OBGYN appointment at 12 so I'll get out for a little while. Maybe I'll play hookie and go home for an hour or so after I get out.
I found myself making up words to Christmas songs this morning about South Beach Diet driving to work. :lol:I was bored so I was singing about how Santa is getting skinny and giving up milk and cookies for veggies and lean meat. Whatever keeps me entertained right? :dizzy:
Well I'm off to print out my project and get this crazy TBL challenge together.... later chickies!
12-19-2006, 09:04 AM
:welcome3: back AnnaRenee! There's always room on the beach for returnees and newbies!
Chellez - ah, I feel fer ya doll ..I hope that that scroogy professor takes your extra work into consideration... What a hoot making up SB Xmas songs!
2peas-- January 12th will be here before you know it!
Ruth- Well with the luck you've been having before you run out to the store think hmmmm, were would it be??? Maybe you moved it when you were getting that antique desk moved in? Is it in the button jar  !
Most exxxciting day! I get to shampoo the carpets.. take the doggage for their walk and wrap the final gifts...then to the hairstylist---
12-19-2006, 09:32 AM
Holy smokes! I just called my friend Claire to see if she was going to town and could get me that book AND SHE HAS A BRAND NEW COPY THAT"S NEVER BEEN READ! There isn't even a dedication on the fly-leaf so I can give it back to the Library. I am definitely buying a lottery ticket today!
Lucy went upstairs and got into last year's tree decorations. She munched the old candy canes and chomped a couple of crocheted snowflakes. I guess the season has begun!
12-19-2006, 12:38 PM
WELCOME BACK, ANNA!
Ruth: Let us know how much your lottery winnings are! ;) That really is a lucky streak you've got going!
Schatzi: Busy as always, I see! Good luck at the stylist's!
Chellez: Too bad about your quiz...good thing you had the extra credit to bring it up, though!
ME: Well, good news and bad news here! Bad news first: TOM came, so I guess we're not pregnant yet. Jason was a little upset, but I'm not really. I know it could take a while and the more time it takes me to get preggers, the more time I have to lose a little more weight!
Good news: the paperwork for my promotion was signed this morning! I'm not too sure how long it will take to process, but at least it's on its way. I don't think there's anything that can keep it from going through, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!
SB news: Well, I haven't been OP, but Jason and I had a long, hard talk last night and we're just going to eat better in general. Everything in moderation from here on out. I'll follow the basic principles of SB, but I'm worried that it may not be the healthiest thing for me if I do get preggers and don't know it for a while. We're also going to start walking the dogs at least 5 times a week for a half hour or so. As long as the weather holds out.
Well, have a great day!
12-19-2006, 01:31 PM
Well, I won $200 on a scratch and win ticket! I gave it to the Toy Drive and am very happy about it.
By the way, it's SNOWING!
12-19-2006, 02:01 PM
How great, Ruth! That's a lot of toys for the kids! I think it's awesome that you're using your luck to benefit others!
12-19-2006, 03:31 PM
Hi folks. I haven't dropped in for a while, mainly because I've been off plan and ashamed of myself. Gained back what I lost on Phase 1 and simply can't face going back on Phase 1. I just gag when I think of eggs, eggs and MORE eggs. What should I do? Would it be okay to have chicken for breakfast instead of eggs? I have bought some ground chicken breast and thought I'd make my own "sausages". I don't mind an egg once in a while but even with all the variations of egg recipes, I just can't face them so often.
Darn cookies have been calling my name and, of course, I've been answering. I don't think I'll even be maintaining over the holidays. Where is my will power when I really need it?
12-19-2006, 04:14 PM
I think many of us have had problems with willpower this month. I know I have! And I know I will end up with a gain.
As far as eggs, there is nothing that says you have to eat eggs. Chicken is fine. Some people eat leftovers for breakfast. eat whatever you can eat that is on plan but try to get some vegetables in since I think that is the key to being successful.
12-19-2006, 04:47 PM
Ugh, I knew the good news would have to end some time! I just didn't think it would be so soon! Jason just got out of the doc's office because he's been having a pain for a while. Well, it turns out that it's a hernia. It's not so bad that they'll have to operate right away, but it's still not great news. At least the Lord's blessed us with good insurance policies!
12-19-2006, 05:42 PM
Wow! Pretty Good News all around!!
Kim  I know you were hoping for that promo! What a way to start the new year... and DH will be fine
I think I need to run up to Canada and rub Ruth's belly.. You are on such a lucky streak!!! And it's just like you to share your good fortune!
Linda: Barb is right of course! You can have what ever you want (on the SB list a course!) whenever you want... Think outside the box -you can have last nights dinner for breakfast.. or mock oatmeal or cottage cheese... Sometimes I make a frittatta so full of veggies you cant taste the egg.
Barb: You must be so busy I miss your daily check ins! Hang in there dear.. You are a role model to so many of us beachers
12-20-2006, 08:00 AM
Happy Hump Day! And Schatzi, you may NOT rub my belly although I still really like you!
LindaBC, when we chatted on the phone, I hope I reassured you about eating other stuff for breakfast. I've even had leftover taco bake with raw veggies. Please come in and post even if you're off plan and share some of your life with us.
Barb, you are one of the Wonder Women of The Beach so please hang in there. I hope you get some quiet times over the holiday.
Kim, congratulations on the promotion! I am sure your man will come through the hernia operation just fine. My DH who is 85 had a really fast recovery from his double one in September. Let us know when he has a date for the procedure.
I plan to be over the Hump - and it's a big one! - by noon today. Hershey and I are off to the clinic Christmas Party then. Unfortunately the menu is lasagna, prepared by the clients, :yikes: so I will have to eat a small serving. They are making salad too so I may be OK. After that, I'll come home to recoup and do a few things, eat a light supper and go off to the school Christmas concert.
This morning I plan to get started on my goodie baskets - they are actually neat wooden trays this year - and finish a comprehensive grocery list for my holiday entertaining. Christmas Eve is the Big Deal with 30-40 people. Last year I planned perfectly - no leftovers! If it weren't considered food porn, I'd show you the menu. The good thing is that friend Claire always brings loads of Christmas baking so I just put out tangerines and apples.
What's happening chez toi sur la plage?
12-20-2006, 08:14 AM
Hi chicks, thought that I would pop in and say Hello. Its been awhile and I have been thinking about all of you chicks. Life for me has been crazy as ever. I have kids again in the house and still working at the store as well as running with my own girls. But I love working from home again and things will quiet down after the holiday season. DH finally has his date for surgery which is Jan 2nd he is getting a little freaked out so I have been trying to keep him calm. That is all that is new with me. I hope you all have a great holiday season. Take care and :clause: MERRY CHRISTMAS
12-20-2006, 08:30 AM
Umm.... morning sunshines? Is everyone else still in bed? I wish I could still be in bed.
Just thought I'd pop in to say hello. I have a day off tomorrow after getting audited today (joy) so I'm just exhausted. Hope everyone is ready for the holiday. I need to finish wrapping tomorrow but I'm definitely sleeping in first!
I have a friend who went into the Air Force many years ago and I haven't seen him for probably 6 years. We made contact and he's home now, so I may see him tomorrow too. I'm so very excited! Happy dancing! :carrot:
Well, off to the shower. Hopefully it wakes me up. Everyone have a great day!
12-20-2006, 10:03 AM
welcome back, little chick! And good to hear from you, Weezle.
I have been swamped lately. Monday night was a den meeting and last night a pack meeting plus Brian and I had to make cookies for his Christmas party at school today. Then he is off until January 8th. Unfortunately, I'll be working most of the time. We do get two days off for Christmas and two for New Years but I'm on call so I have to stay available. And I'm putting in maintenance on a bunch of servers this weekend. It's a pain so close to Christmas but if it reduces the outages, it is well worth it.
I'm trying to get in the last of my required training hours during every free minute at work. I just need to finish this 8 hour Oracle web-based class (takes about 3 times that long though if you want to do well on the tests). The last couple of days I've been to busy to even work on it. So I'm back to the class now and I'll check in whenever I get some time.
12-20-2006, 11:18 AM
Thanks for all the well wishes for Jason! He's going to have his operation in the middle of January.
I just got back from the doctor and guess what, I've got inflamed lungs! Doesn't that sound funny? Anyways, I got a steroid shot (just what I need -- steroids on the day of our office Christmas lunch) and a prescription for antibiotics. If it doesn't clear up by Friday morning, there will be xrays and more. Ugh. I'm actually kind of scared about it all because I went into the hospital with my lung problems last year on December 27th. I'm afraid it will happen again! Actually, I'm terrified. That was a HORRID hospital stay and I ended up gaining 20 lbs as a result of it.
12-20-2006, 04:11 PM
 everybody! Late check in today...
Little Chick! So good to see you on the boards! Wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season...
Weezie: I know what joy seeing old friends brings
enjoy your time with him! Hmmm maybe squeeze in a candle lit bubble bath to destress!!!
Kim: :yikes: oh dear, I do hope you will be alright... Take good care of yourself!
Barb: HoooBoy, sounds like you are going to be busy with work and training.. I hope you get in some holiday cheer to .
Ruth: your party sounds like it's going to be a smash!
I finished all my wrapping.. and I better not say this too loud or I'll jinx myself but I'm ahead of schedule:) Makin' a list and checkin it 2x just to be sure!
Have a great afternoon gals!
12-20-2006, 04:51 PM
That's great! What a wonderful way to use your winnings!
12-20-2006, 07:22 PM
Life has been crazy the past two days, and I haven't had any time to check in with you all. I have a feeling it's going to be like this until the girls are back in school! Yesterday was a flurry of recitals, and today it was school holiday parties and an afternoon playdate/party. I'm exhausted by the time I get home, but it's been fun, too.
little chick, Hi!!! We've missed you, when are you coming back? Have a wonderful Christmas, and I hope everything goes well with your DH's operation.
Ruth, that's some luck you're having! Are you sure you won't let us rub your belly? At least blow a little luck our way? You're an angel for donating your winnings to the children.
Schatzi, I'm all finished the buying, baking and wrapping, too! Just hoping for a little time for relaxing now!
Kim, I'm praying your lungs will clear by Friday. Try not to worry about it; remember, you're a lot healthier this time than you were last year when it happened. That has to be on your side this time! I hope Jason has an easy time with his operation, too.
Barb, I hope you're not bothered with calls on the holidays, and get to enjoy the day with your family. Try to carve out some time for yourself, okay?
weezle, Hi! How many more days til Key West? I'm getting really envious of you, I could sure use some vacation right now.
12-21-2006, 06:39 AM
:tree: :clause: :candy: :wreath: :rudolph:
Good Morning to you all on this first day of winter! :coolsnow: I thought I'd get in here now while I have the opportunity. This week has been chaotic with last minute errands and running the girls around with their activities. My eating has been less than stellar, but I've been cramming in my Curves workout every morning at least. :carrot:
Audrey is on her holiday break right now, but Maggie has school today and tomorrow yet. So after we drop off Maggie, Audrey and I are going to bake gingerbread men, and we'll decorate them in the afternoon when Maggie gets home. Jake has his company Christmas party this evening, so I'll be on my own for supper. I have a little leftover Indian Chicken, so I'll heat that up for myself.
So what are you all doing on this Countdown to Christmas day?
12-21-2006, 06:52 AM
Well, I'm trying to ignore the countdown but it's difficult! I think I'm a bit overbooked. Yesterday Hershey and I were at the clinic Christmas party for three hours. She got to lick the lasagna pan so was very happy. I sorted and wrapped toys for the Toy Drive and then went to the school concert which was delightful! I did not get my goodies made for my gifts - maybe today or tonight?
This morning will be spent doing party cooking and finishing some decorating and wrapping. This afternoon I have to take a dog and go to the party at Maple View. (I may take Lucy as Hershey seemed pretty tired last night. Getting petted and licking a lasagna pan is hard work!) I need to get cooking finished up today as I work a Bingo tomorrow and have a dinner party tomorrow night. The only other free time I have will be Saturday afternoon. This is just ridiculous - I'm overbooked!
I think I'll turn on the BLING Tree and sit and gaze at it for a while sipping my coffee.
12-21-2006, 08:08 AM
Yesterday was hectic at work. Why can't it slow down at this time of the year - maybe because some of my customers are airlines and car rental companies :) Oh, well, I was determined not to leave work until I finished one more section of the training class I am taking and took the quiz. So now I have finished two sections and have 5 more to go before I get credit for the class. I have to finish it before the end of the year to have enough training hours. Why can't an 8 credit hour class take 8 hours? And why did I wait until the last months to really do this. :(
Oh, well, I am working from home today. Brian is out of school for the holidays and dinner is in the crockpot. I just need to spend an hour of so working customer tickets and then I can get back to training.
12-21-2006, 09:17 AM
Good morning chicks, Ruth and Barb I see you to are as busy as ever. Somethings never change.
Thanks for the welcome Cottage, I am going to start back after the new year. As soon as my life becomes a little normal again. If that is ever possible. Well I must dash need to head out to the store. You chicks take care.
12-21-2006, 10:03 AM
For those who have lost count, only 23 days left until Key West. :carrot:
Still holding steady at 127.... maybe if I exercised or something I could get over the hump, but that takes too much time and effort during the holiday season.
Today is my day off, and I need to run movies back to the store, wrap presents, bake cookies, meet with my friend who is home from the Air Force, and teach piano.
What do you all have in store for today?
12-21-2006, 08:58 PM
OK, well the cookies are baked (I only ate one because it was a new recipe and I didn't want to feed my friends and family crap) and in their tins, my presents are wrapped, and my friend Mark is picking me up shortly! I'm so excited!
You girls sure must have very productive days. I'm the loser, checking in all day long and nobody's said anything. Hope everyone's well and getting things accomplished!
12-22-2006, 07:17 AM
It's Finally Friday! :carrot:  :carrot:
While I was in the shower this morning I realized that I forgot to send little Carley a birthday card, and she turns 2 tomorrow! So I dashed over to the store with wet hair to pick out a card for her and dropped it off at the post office. We celebrated her birthday last Sunday, but I still wanted to send her a card for her actual birthday. :hb: Anyway, while I was out I grabbed a coffee at Wawa, so now I'm set. :coffee:
I want to drop off a basket of cookies for my Mom & Dad before I take Maggie to school this morning. She's having a pajama party at school today, so she gets to go in her PJ's, and they're going to have pancakes for their snack. Sounds like fun! I don't know what the rest of the day will be like, but Cindy promised to be home by 2 or 3 so I can leave early, and then Jake and I are going to a Midnight Madness sale at a big Pennsylvania Dutch grocery store. We go every year, and it's a lot of fun; plus they have grocery specials that can't be missed, such as boneless chicken breasts for $1.29 lb and other great deals. I want to pick up my ham and turkey for Christmas dinner while we're there, too.
Weezle, don't worry, I think Jake got me a laptop for Christmas, and then I'll be able to check in more often during the day, too. I hope you had a wonderful time with your friend last night!
12-22-2006, 07:41 AM
Weezle, you sound right on top of all this Christmas stuff and should have a great one.
Cottage, I sure wish I could dash out for that sort of thing but nothing opens until 8 around here. I'm for 24 hour shopping but need the city for that.
Yesterday sure went fast! I did not make it to the Christmas party. My back was just killing me so I lay down with the heating pad and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
I did get my goodie basket stuff made later and was starting the Velveeta fudge (you don't need to know!), when the kitchen power went off! It seems something shorted out. I couldn't figure it out so wonderful neighbour Moel came to my rescue. It took him and hour but I was back in business. After Grey's Anatomy, I managed to fall asleep on the couch and didn't go to bed until one. The Girls just love sleeping "en famille".
Today I'm outta here around ten to work a charity BINGO in Brockville. When I'm in town, I'll have to go to a big grocery store for a few upscale party essentials but should be home by five. Then I'm off to a dinner party!
After my sad and lonely 2005 Christmas when Harry moved to long term care, I determined that I was going to accept every party invitation I got. Great idea but it sure makes for a busy holiday season. The last one's Jan. 18th!
I must have been insane.
Have a productive day, Chickies.
12-22-2006, 09:02 AM
Morning chicks. sounds like everyone is busy with last minutes things. Me too. I am finishing the cleaning and the laundry. DH is out picking up few last minute things, we are going do to the grocery things tonight after I get home from work at 11. Thank goodness for 24 hr shopping. Ruth hope you have lots of fun at all your parties. Hope your D Harry is doing well. Well I must dash and finish things off before I have to pick up the kids at the bus stop at 11:30 and wait for DMIL to show up. Take care chicks and have a wonderful day.
12-22-2006, 10:17 AM

Just time for a quick Hello. I've finished upgrading one set of servers and I can't start the next set for another 24 minutes. I'm waiting on two other changes to complete too so I'll probably be here until 2 AM.
They told us we could leave early today at 1 but I'm still trying to finish up that Oracle class so I stayed until 4:30. I'm down to the last two units now so I hope I can finish before the end of the year. I'm going to start working on it again in a bit but I'm not as productive at this hour of the night.
It looks like we'll be going over to friends' on Christmas day so I won't be cooking a meal. Maybe I can make some healthy sides to bring. I'd love to make a dessert but they don't use Splenda which makes it hard to make desserts OP.

:tree: :tree: Rushing through as I have a huge list today. I'm off to town for a hair trim this morning and have a huge list to cover before then. I'll be back later!

Goodness, Barb, I don't know how you manage to do so much, and stay awake most of the night! You are definitely a Super-Woman! I have the same problem using Splenda for desserts, too, and it's hard to come up with something yummy that everyone can enjoy. Good luck!
We got our big grocery shopping done last night, so I feel good that that's out of the way. I'll still have to run out at the last minute for bread, milk, and lettuce, but that's no big deal. I'm waiting for Jake to get finished in the shower, and then we're going to the mall, of all things. We love to just get a cup of coffee and sit on a bench watching all the last minute frenzy, knowing that we're all finished. I do want to look for a new tablecloth while we're out, though, and we'll treat ourselves to lunch. Tomorrow we'll be busy again, so today is a day for just relaxing and enjoying the day.
Just a quick check in as I haven't been around much lately. Eating has been off and going through some other "stuff" right now as well. I !
I hope that everyone has an absolutely wonderful holiday!! DH is off for three straight days, which will be so great. We kept Christmas pretty simple this year, but I hit great sales for the girls and came in slightly under budget. Gotta love it!
Hi, Kiko! Hope your family has a great Christmas. Brian is getting a little bored already with being off school but he does have his pinewood derby car to work on.
I'm a bit tired. I got to bed around 2:30 and then the pager was going off between 4-4:30. I got called at 5 to do an unexpected verification (we THOUGHT we were done for the night) and got back to bed by 5:30. It was hard convincing my body to go back to sleep when I'm used to getting up at 6. Anyway, Brian didn't come in until 8 but that was still nowhere near enough sleep.
I wonder if I have the energy to go to the gym?

Good Morning, Good Morning!
Well, it's a beautiful December 23rd! I hope everybody's ready to celebrate whatever you're celebrating! We are! There's excitement in the air, my MIL and nephew are here, complete with a little Christmas puppy! (Not for us, for MIL, she's still cute anyways!) AND, it's snowing! It hasn't started sticking yet, but it might!
I've actually been doing surprisingly well staying OP the last few days. I feel like I'm shrinking again, but the scale hasn't come out yet. Maybe I'll wait until Monday morning and we'll have a Christmas miracle! (I guess I should just take the snow as a miracle here in Texas, huh?) Anyways, I'm still not sure what we're going to eat for Christmas dinner as our first plan was out of stock here in town (brisket), so we'll have to play it by ear. Maybe a rotisserie chicken. We'll have to wait and see.
I see everyone is busy, busy, busy. Barb, you sure are Super-Woman. At least you don't have to cook the whole meal on Monday, hopefully you'll be able to rest then!
Wow sounds like everyone is busy as can be. I just finished wrapping kids presents. I am glad to have that done before Christmas Eve so that I can enjoy a peaceful night. The one thing I forgot to do was take the ham out of the oven so that I could bring it to my Mom's for Christmas dinner. Opps:dizzy: Hope it thaws in time.
I am done with all my papers on chapters 1-12 of the book of Daniel. Now I just have to write two term papers. Should be a breeze.
I have not been very good lately staying on OP. The good news is that I did not do any damage. I weighed myself at the gym today in a wet bathing suit and wieghed 1 lb less then I did two weeks ago. I am shocked! This is a Christmas miracle. I pray you all get a Chirstmas miracle too.
Just dashing through and checking in. I may not be online much for the next few days but will be checking.
This morning I have my kitchen to put into company order, the downstairs to vacuum and food to organize. The cooking is done except for sausage rolls which may or may not get done. I'll be outta here at noon to go to spend the afternoon with Jim, Wendy and sweet Tayler plus Wendy's family. I would really like to be back here by four for finishing touches but I doubt that will happen. Church is at 7:30 and I would love a bit of down time before then. Somehow I doubt it will happen.
I hope everyone has a peaceful and happy Christmas. Cherish your families and friends.

Good morning gals!
Barb You are a BIT tired? You are a trooper, I would be throwing myself a big 'ole pity party! :hat:
Two Peas What type of classes are you taking? I did a Beth Moore Bible study on the book of Daniel recently. It was the first one I had ever done, and I really enjoyed it.
Ruth Be safe my friend!!
Kim Nothing like a house full to make the holidays fun! Today and tomorrow will be busy, but fun for us. We have church this morning and then will be back there again this evening for the Christmas Eve service. Our church actually has a children's service at 5:00 which is very child friendly, loud, lots of singing. That is the one we will be attending followed by dinner at my in laws.
It was so cute because the other day I was talking to my older daughter about Christmas and I asked her what it was all about. Her two answers were "giving" and "Jesus' birthday." So, although she is a typical 5 year old and can't wait to open presents, she gets the meaning. :candy:
Okay, more coffee is needed- I have been battling a cold for the last few days and don't feel so great this morning. More caffiene is certainly in order.
:wreath: :candy: :hohoho: :stardav: :rudolph: :dreidel: :present: :han: :xcheer: :ginger: :hohoho: :candy: :wreath: HAPPY HOLIDAYS and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my dear friends here on The Beach!

I heard that Beth Moore was good. I am getting my B.A. at an online Bible College. I have been attending for around 2 years. I have about another year to go. :carrot:
I love to teach and learn then teach what I learn. I have done some on-line Bible studies that can be viewed on line by our church or anyone else who wishes to see them.

Good evening everyone!
As you can see from my new avatar, you girls aren't the only ones who know how much I love potatoes. My friend David sent gifts for me, my family, and Abdul, and he got me a cook book that sums up my favorite food: POTATO. I thought it was funny but also it will be quite useful!
The last few days, the scale has said 124, but I'm not going to mess with the ticker until Tuesday. Lots of snacky things around. I behaved during the day but had several cheese slices and crackers before dinner, and then dinner wasn't necessarily "small" either. Another big dinner tomorrow and then I should be good to go. Only 20 more days until Key West!!! Have to behave myself!
Merry Christmas to you all, and to those who don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Whatever-it-is-that-you-do-or-do-not-celebrate to you too! A Festivus for the rest of us!
