Does anyone here have REALLY wide feet? Mine were really wide even when not overweight and now they are a size 9 EEEE. I can't find EEEE shoes for women anywhere. I usually wear fabric slippers all year round. Its horrid.

I know it's not very glamorous, but have you tried men's shoes? My sister's feet aren't extremely wide, but they are a bit wide, and she was recently fitted for a men's sneaker at a running store. They said it would give her foot better support than any of the women's sneakers.

Thanks for the tip. I have tried men's shoes in the past, but I am still a size EEEE in men's shoes as well. I do get men's sport sandals, (those strap and velcro things) but its hard to wear them everywhere :)

I tried looking into Men's shoes when I was looking for hiking shoes and it did not work at all. It really sucked. They would be too big certain places and too small in other places. Sometimes it works though.

There is a line of shoes linked with New Balance (who also has a few sneakers in 4E) called Aravon. You can get them from www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com. I have a several pairs of the 2E and find them to be good quality and decent width. They are really reasonable from the outlet too - so many wide shoes are really expensive.

It really depends on your foot. Men's shoes tend to be wider and more square in the toe whereas women's shoes come more to a point (even the ones that sren't the pizza-slice style shoes get narrower at the toe than men's style do). Men's are also a bit wider in the instep and slightly in the heel. My fiance has wide feet and a wide heel, and he has to wear a New Balance EEE.

Additionally, a lot of shoe store/department employees are actually given misinformation on sizing--they will typically tell you there is a 2 size difference between men's and women's shoes (so if you wear a women's 10, it would be a men's 8), but that is untrue--it's actually a 1.5 size difference (so a women's 10 is a men's 8.5).

In any case, it all depends on the shape of your foot and partially on your gait. My feet are just a mess, so buying ANY shoes is a ridiculous challenge for me (size 10, wide in both insted and up by the toes, problems with ingrown toenails, arches are back farther than "normal," and so on :dizzy: ).

I buy my boots in the young men's department. They have a small enough size for me, and the width I need. Plus the sturdiness. When I want working boots - I cannot find anything for women that will hold up. What's up with that?

I have really wide feet, a really high instep makes it very difficult to fit shoes. I have a pair of starter brand sneakers right now that are nice and wide, Very comfortable. They are 8 EEEE, of course my feet are a bit swollen right now but even when they aren't they are wide! Always were even at my thinnest!

So my BBf has always been my shoe stretcher she wears my new shoes for a couple weeks until they stretch but this x-mas she bought me a shoe strecher I didn't even know they made these but it's awesome, I love it! It was $20 at overstock.com everyone needs one
