Goodness...that last thread was getting long! You guys have been posting A LOT! :) It's hard to keep up...and now that I've started a new thread and can't see what was on the old one...I can't remember what everybody has said.
I haven't been sleeping too good lately and can't remember what my name is half the time anyway. Didn't go to sleep until after 3 this morning and then my mom called at 7 and said she was dizzy so I had to get up and take her to the Urgent Care Clinic in Cookeville. She has fluid built up in her inner ear. By the time I did that, got her meds. and got her something to eat I didn't get back home until 12:30. Then had to wash clothes and go back up there and sit while she took a bath, etc. It has been an exhausting day and I feel like I've been running around in circles and didn't get anything done. Saturday is my only day to clean, etc. and now it is gone for another whole week! I'm so depressed. Seems like I never have enough time to do everything that needs to get done! OK...I'm through whining!
What the heck is that stuff that starts with a Q or a G or whatever that you all were talking about? Never heard of it and could someone PLEASE spell it correctly so I can figure out exactly what it is???
Hubby was going to take me to dinner and a movie last night but I was hurting so bad and so exhausted when he got home I didn't feel like going so he went to Cookeville and got us a movie and a pizza. We watched "Family Man" with Nicholas Cage. If you haven't seen it you should! It was really good.
Gotta go hang up some clothes...hope you all have a great weekend.
(Candice...that pic. looked like me watching the clothes today...she looked like she was spaced out on drugs and that's about how I feel!) :dz:

Ally. Here is the site for Guaif.
http://www.guaidoc.com/index.html
Have fun reading.
Mima - I don't think you are supposed to be taking the cough syrup, like Robitussen. I read something, somewhere that it is dangerous to do this. You need to prescription from the Dr. There is other stuff in cough syrup.
Meme - confused ? Is that because you were watching Candices' washer go round and round:lol:
Candice - only 1 more pound to go - good work!
Hi Tootie and Joanne. Hope your all having a great weekend.

Thanks Anne for the tip about.guaf............I used to be a top speller til I taught 4th grade.I'd rather try the Spectra 12 but right now I have to take my osteoporosis med for 2 weeks.Don't know the side effects.Meme-I used to take care of my mom and I had small children at home . Lot of work.I did finally delegate to my brothers but she liked how I did things best.Only got 5 1/2 hours sleep but I danced a lot-mostly fast dances. We have such a nice group that goes. Good day everyone!!!!Mima

Yes Happy Anne...that is the book I just read.
And I don't know if I could ever get my Doc to buy into trying it. I just got changed to a new Doc and she doesn't even know me yet.
But the stuff about hypoglycemia hit home. I forget that things that are good for you may also have a high gycemic component. I was really eating a lot of fruit and even snuck some potatoes back in as they have a good fiber count.
Live and Learn.
Meme.......did you say you gave up the 5-HTP? I am tapering off and got my migraine headaches back...also lots of hip pain in the nite. That's why I want to try something new.
Lethargic weekend for me and I don't have your excuse Meme. Just too hot to do anything....
Hot and muggy here.I want to walk but don'tI am going to weigh in tonight-hope I'm not know if it's a good idea-my stomache hasn't been right. Like IBS stuff which I haven't had in a long time. Perhaps because I'm thinking of going to work part time.I am working on a beautiful cross stitch and I'll show a picture when I'm done-daughter has my digital camera-and my sewing machine-and my good tablecloth!!!!! I am going to weigh in tonight-home I'm not surprised-I don't want to pay.Don't have too much to say today-Have a good day everyone. Mima

Memetoo- I can relate to your taking care of your mother. At one time we had my husbands mother in a local nursing home, That should have been easy but they could not do anything with her so as I worked there it was up to me a lot. She was very difficult and always had been. Now my mother was also a difficult person who lived 2 miles away. My sister and I shared but it was still hard and on the other end of the scale was my sisterinlaw with terminal cancer to take care of. No wonder I had health problems... But I think God has a plan to work everything out in his own time..
Mima- Hope the weigh in was good for you.. I had to pay a lousy 9 dollers for half pound this week.
Ally don't you just hate changing doctors? They all have a different idea for what is best for you.
Happy Canuk- Thank You ,I did have a pretty quiet weekend. I got to talk to my brother when he called from Arizona to see how Barry treated us. One day of light rain is all we got. We need more.I seldon hear his voice since e-mail. I think I will call him back and say this is my doller ,lets talk. :)
Hello Tootie, Candicej ,How was your weekend? Great I hope.
Bye for now,you all take good care of yourselves...Joanne:wave:

I posted a big long message yesterday and my computer locked up so I just turned it off and took a nap!!! Then I just got through typing some stuff and accidentally hit the Escape button with a bag of chips and lost all that! It wasn't meant for me to communicate with you all I guess!
It's nice to know that other people have problems with their parents, too. My mom is driving me nuts. Yesterday she was over here about 8:30 and stayed until lunch. It would take several pages to tell you all the garbage she layed on me then. Then again this morning she came over and stayed until one of the kids threw water on her from their little wading pool on the deck....she went home after that (I swear I didn't put them up to it!)
Speaking of the kids, I have good news. Starting next Monday I was supposed to have to take Ross to Kindergarten every single day at 10:45 and go back and get him at least 3 days a week at 3....this is for a whole school year (he's going to a private school in Cookeville, about 8 miles away). Well...I talked to my daughter and told her it was going to be really hard for me to do that and take care of Jenna too (2 yr. old) with Mom the way she is! So she got him enrolled in "Stay-and-Play" at the same private school. Now they can take him at 8 on their way to work and I won't have him until 3. I feel like a huge weight has been rolled off me! Of course, if he starts misbehaving and getting into trouble like he did at the preschool (which I think was a made up crock!) He will still have to stay with me for 1/2 a day. I hope it all works out! I could use a little good luck!!!
Ally...no I didn't completely stop taking the 5 HTP. I stopped for about a month and gained 10 more pounds and started feeling a lot worse so I've started back taking it now. Are you still taking it?
Have any of you actually taken any of that other stuff???
It is nice here today, we stayed out on the deck for over 2 hrs. and it is usually so hot out there you can't stand it for that long. (Of course, I set up a fan on the patio table! Creature of comfort that I am!!!) Do any of you have "Dirt-Daubers"? They are in the wasp or hornet family and build nests out of mud in long rows on anything wood. Well...we have a log house and have those things around all the time. We try to keep the nests torn down as they build them but it has been so hot here (upper 90s) the last couple of weeks that we haven't been out much. They had built 5 HUGE nests and about 4 or 5 smaller ones out on my front porch. I went out Sunday to sweep and decided I was going to tear them all down. I took the broom handle and started chipping away at the dried mud and all these SPIDERS started falling out. They were everywhere and they WEREN'T DEAD!!!!!!! They were just laying all over my front porch barly moving their legs. A few tried to crawl off but couldn't. I swept them all off the porch (talk about smelling bad!) There must have been 50 or more of them. I told hubby about it and he said they couldn't have been spiders, must just be what they looked like when they first hatched out. I wasn't convinced. So I got on the net Sun. night and looked it up. Wish I hadn't asked. They paralyze spiders and carry them and stuff them up in their nests. Then they lay their eggs on the addled spider so when they hatch the young ones will have something to eat! And GET THIS! Their favorite kinds of spiders are BLACK WIDOWS AND BROWN RECLUSE!!!!!!! I figured I'd have nightmares Sun. night! To think of all those spiders wiggling all around my feet out there. They were flying everywhere as I was knocking them down! UGH!!!
Well...now that I've sufficiently grossed you out...I'll go put the kiddies to bed and take my nap! (Needless to say, I made hubby spray bug poison all over the front porch, under the porch, all around the porch and even all around the whole house and back deck!!!!!!! My scalp is crawling even now!

Meme - I would have run so far away, so fast! If there is one thing I can't stand, it is spiders, and that one crawling on your post is almost to much for me. Don't those things sting, like hornets or wasps - if so, what where you thinking:lol:
I found the 5HTP upset my stomach - just another thing to add to my list. Have not tried the Guaif? as you really have to be careful what you eat with it, as per the website I posted.
Joanne - Nice you could talk to your brother. I agree, that the e-mail has taken over voice mail and I really prefer the telephone. I LOVE to talk in case you hadn't noticed:lol:
Candice - What are you up to and do you have your arm back to normal yet? Did the last shot help you?
Mima - stressed out a bit with the thought of everything? That is probably what is causing all this. Try deep breathing or meditation and see if that helps.
Ally - Hi and Tootie - Hi.
Hope everyone is keeping well and doing well on their diets. I lost a couple more pounds but it is tough sledding. Anyway, I will keep trying.
Have a good day ladies.

Memetoo- Do you have any idea how sick you would have been if one of those spiders had bit you?? Both are equally poison. The one bad phobia I have is spiders. I can not even look at a picture of one . If something about them comes on the T.V I am out of the room. A VERY LARGE brown one jumped on me when I was a child. and I have never got over it. As children do in the summer back in the late 30's I was playing with out a shirt on. I tried to kill it on the wall with a broom. It jumped on my chest and clung . Of course you didn't tell your kids to wet your mom!!Did you think it?
Happy Canuk- I love to talk too.. I can't wait for my sister to get back down from N.Y. She is a talker too. I get really lonely sometimes.

Meme.need your help again! Do you know of a good easy program to do mailing labes. The one I had was on the old computer and never could figure it out (my son did it since it was his old computer). We tried copying the list to a disk and transfering it to the new computer but it shows up overlaping the names and addresses. I was just gonna print them out and it wouldn't work! Remember I need something easy! I hate spiders would you please delete that one!
Happy..my arm is not better and I am upset about it! :( I don't think my doc knows what he is doing. I go back Wed and he will decide what we do now, he suggested that surgery but I don't think so! I might just have to immobilize it for awhile. He also told me to use heat on it and the net says ice. Maybe I sould try physical Thearapy if he will order it. Just hate to drive all that way!
I did some cleaning yesterday, but everything hurts my arm!
HI Toots, Mima, Ally and Joanne:wave:
I hate it when the puter freezes up! If it does it twice I just shut down too! That is why I haven't been posting much lately!!!!!! Gotta go take a bath and wash my hair, was out watering today and Meme If I were there I would have thrown water on your mom too!

#1. I'm terrified of spiders, too but I don't think there were any black widows or brown recluse in the nests...didn't look like any, anyway...can't be sure though.
#2. I had no idea that was what was in there until AFTER I smashed them!!!!!!!
#3. Dirt Daubers will not sting you unless absolutely FORCED to by you smashing them with your hand or something.
#4. All I was THINKING was that I wanted those nasty things off my porch. That is where I sit in my swing and where the kids swings are, too. I just spent nearly $500 putting rails and a gate on my 50 foot front porch last spring and wanted to be able to go out there...the baby was afraid of them.
Candice...I use "My Advanced Label Designer" by "My Software". It is a no brainer. You can get one at:

for $29.76
I posted in the wrongplace yesterday-didn't mean to start a new thread-let's ignore it-Another suggestion-don't walk to the pool and swim and walk home. It defeats the purpose of going to the pool.Tis quite hot here-going to an airconditioned restaurant to meet my niece who lives near Syracuse NY.I take DEsyrel-Trazedone-50 mg. of antidepressant and it works well.Been on it for years. I sleep 7 hrs. straight. Not sleeping aggravates fibro. When I first got it I was awake every hour. Now I only wake up if I have to go to thebathroom. Did the Tai Chi video yesterday-very relaxing but not the right tape. But good on the breathing. In the fall-I'll find a good class-right now exercising is not at the top of my list-just staying cool.I'm sure everyone feels that way.Have a great day everyone.P.s I miss my best friend-she is on vacation and I haven't talked to her for three weeks. Well Meme, at least you got those things away! Yuk - that spider graphic you put up almost did me in:lol: Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Mom again. I also hope that the arrangement for Ross works out well for both him and for you.
Candice - sorry to hear your arm is not getting better. That is a real bummer. Do you have it in a sling?
Mima - Our weather here has been fantastic - fluctuating between 75 - 85 degrees. A couple of times it has crept to the 90's. The most perfect day is at 75 degrees. It is warm, but not stinking hot, and you can actually sit outside and enjoy it. Hope your friend comes back soon.
Joanne - That will be nice when your sister comes for a visit. I don't have any sisters, just two brothers, but my sisters-in-law are great. I am closer to three friends I grew up with. They are all like sisters to me. Have known them since I was 5 and we talk and see each other quite often. One of them I see less of, as she lives in Chicago, and I only get to see her when she comes back home. We do e-mail however.
Ally and Tootie - Hi. Hope you are doing ok.
I must go to the chiro. this morning. That will be 3 weeks without any treatment, but I think it might need one today. We will see. Then, I have to go shopping and to the bank, so will be a busy day.
Everyone have a great day.

Today is going t be the hottest yet!!!!!!!I am having company to play cards tonight so I have to CLEAN a bit-but then my place is so small!Hope 9 peple can play cards-I have to borrow a chair. Going to make a WW dessert.Oh Joanne-I feel bad about your arm-I had a problem with my shoulder and got shots for a year and got no relief. I went to the orthopedic dr. on my own recommenadation and he suspected a rotator cuff problem and did and MRI.I had surgery and I'm fine now. I think our muscles tear easier than other people's . That doesn't mean that this happened to you but the ortho. was the only one that helped. Like I always say-rheumos. give meds and orthos. do surgery.Happy-if I responded to everyone like you do, I would have to write it down. You are so thoughtful.Had a wonderful lunch with my niece yesterday and her grandfather picked up the check! Stay cool-I am on my way to canada!!Haha Mima

Candice - cute cat - I like her one white paw. One day I am going to have to post some pictures - if I can ever remember to take them and get the roll developed. Sure hope this shot helps you.
If nothing else, it might slow you down so you can rest it:lol:
Mima - Hope you have a good time playing cards - and dessert mmmm. Watcha makin? I should just start my meal with dessert and then eat the balance if I have room:lol:
Ally - where, or where are you? It is hotter than a firecracker there in New York I see. It is so beautiful here, about 78 above. Just nice to sit out in. Also, no humidity, so that makes it even nicer.
Joanne - I would love to sit down and have coffee with you and have a good chat. That would be so much fun. Maybe Meme, could join us, but no! I don't think she has time - batting around those horrid spiders and things. That was a terrible story about the spider on you. I remember when I was working reservations for an Airline, some co-worker came up and tapped me on the shoulder and said they wanted to talk to me when I was done. I said ok, and then I saw something on my shoulder and it was a big black spider. I almost died. I was hysterical - and talking to a passenger on the phone, nonetheless. At the time, of course, I didn't know it was a rubber one, but it scared me so bad. Everyone thought that was such great fun, but they sure didn't know I was that terrified of spiders. Apologies all over the place. She was lucky I didn't leap on her and beat on her -or just have a heart attack. Terrible.
Meme - I am glad you took off that horrible spider as well. It jst looked a little to real. Yuk! Hope you are feeling better.
Hi Tootie. Where ARE you? It must be really hot in Texas as well. In fact, I am guessing you are all hot. I am probably the coolest place going.

Candice...yes...any program that works with 95/98 will work with ME...I know because I have 98 on my big computer and ME on my lap top.
Yes...it is super easy. You click on "Format" then choose "labels" then it gives you a choice of label sizes...they all also have brands & numbers so you can just choose the brand and number from the front of your label package. Then, when you have chosen your label there are 4 tabs...label design, data entry, index and print preview. Label design lets you chose your "boxes" to put your address in. You can use a preset or you can customize. I just choose custom 1, custom 2 etc. (you click on custom 1 and then click in the label and it places the box there, then you can just move it around where ever you want it on your label and click in the corners and stretch it out to resize it). I just chose as many custom boxes as I need for name, street, city, state & zip and then click the second tab which is data entry and type in the name etc. and that is all there is to it. The index tab shows you everyone you have a label for. You can select the ones you want by clicking on the number by the name. If you want, you can choose them all or just part of them by holding down the control key on your keyboard. You can even have different pages for relatives, friends, business etc. just by saving it as what ever you want it to be and then starting a new one. It is really easy to use and even has a "print preview" so you can see what the labels will look like before you print them out. There is some clip art that comes with it (or use your own) and all you do is click "insert" and then choose "clipart" to decorate your labels for the holidays. The clipart can be resized right on the label by clicking on the sides or corners and stretching or shrinking. And if you have any trouble with it, I'll be here to help! :)
WE had fun playing cards but the dessert was blah-sugar free fat free banana cream and vanilla pudding -graham cracker base-Fat free cool whip-I guess fat has flavor!!!!!Won't make that again. No taste. It's supposed to get cooler tomorrow-I guess we can take one more day-I'm going to a cookout Sunday and supposed to bring an appetizer-I want something healthy and tasty-is that possible.I guess I'll check out WW. although my last recipe was from there.I'm tired today-gonna hit the couch for a while. Stay cool.Mima

Mima...how about taking a tray of different kinds of fruit. You could take strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapples, grapes, etc. Or...you could take a tray of low fat crackers with different kinds of cheeses. Or...how about stuffed celery? We like them with pimento cheese and peanutbutter. Another good appetizer is ham and cheese roll-ups but your host would need to have a microwave. You can prepare them ahead and then just stick them in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds...just enough for the cheese to melt a little. You place a slice of reduced fat cheese on a slice of lean ham and then spread a thin coat of mustard on top. Roll them up and stick 4 toothpicks at intervals and slice between the toothpicks. Each guest can pick up a bite with the toothpick and not have to touch the roll-ups. They are delicious, too.

YES, it was hotter than a firecracker in NY all week. Today it is down to 80 and humidity is tolerable. This was an awful week. I don't know how Florida people live like that. We were told to conserve energy and water, yet they tell us to stay inside with fans and air conditioners running.
Last nite I could not sleep at all.
Hopefully, that is the last heat wave. I have to know more about why the US will not sign a Global Warming treaty. You can't tell me we aren't getting warmer.
Meme...I did go off 5-htp. Just like with SSRI anti-depressants 5-HTP poops out and you should take breaks from it. I had some withdrawal so watch out if you go off it.
I don;t know about that Guaifenesin. I read on the Clouds site a few people that felt it had helped. You have to take it the rest of your life.
Happy Anne....how long did you take your Spectra before you felt anything and how did you come to learn about it?
I did not weigh myself....only one cheating episode with a nasty bag of Fritos....but I am PMS and bloated and would be disappointed if I didn't lose.
So.....hey everybody. Hope noone else has a heat wave.

Meme...sounds easy enough, but what about the printer, do you have to tell it what kind it is or is that included in the label kind? I have two printers now and the one hooked up is the canon, BJC bubble jet printer, that is from the old puter and the lables are for it. Your food ideas sound wonderful! Yummmmmmmmmmmm :) I do a ham roll up with thin slices of ham, FF cr. cheese and a dill pickle sliver. No heating required on that one. I love the fresh fruit idea too and I eat a lot of it!!!!!!!!
Happy....It is cool here too now!:) Love it and my arm has slowed me down and I don't like it:mad: Get those photos developed!
Ally....A whole bag of fritos....love those things:o The salt is a killer though and I haven't had them since I have been doing WW, I eat the WOW bran chips and stuff now and it doesn't bother my tummy like other people say. Tha is surprising for me!
Mima...Sorry your dessert was a flop...it sounded good but I can't have that sugar free stuff, the nutrasweet gives me a headache among other stuff!
Meme...how do I find this lable thing! When I click on that site on one it says error. Can I find it in a store?????? I know I'm annoying you with questions but I really need a label program!

It is really hot here,too...can't stand the heat! And it has rained or been cloudy and stormy every single day this week. Looks like it is going to rain now and it is 90 degrees out!!! I'm hurting sooooo bad and really swollen!
Candice...you don't have to tell your printer anything. You just put your labels in as if they were a sheet of printer paper and click on print. It has a button to click for "skipping labels" so if some of the labels are already used it will skip those and start printing where there are labels on the sheet. It does all this automatically...it is a "no brainer"! I don't know why that link won't work for you...I just clicked on it and it went right to the label software page. Try this one:
http://www.pricegrabber.com
When you get there...just do a search. Choose "software" from the first search box and type in "My Advanced Label Designer" in the other box. I just did that too and it worked! I bought mine from a software store in Nashville. If there is an Office Max or something like that near you you might want to call them and see if they have it. It will probably cost you more though so make sure you ask them the price! Also, check Wal Mart or K Mart the next time you go...they may have it. Priceline.com is a pretty reliable place and their prices are usually a little lower than the stores.
Well...I'd better get off here...I just got on for a minute to check my mail and see if I got my test results back. (I did and I got 100% on all questions and all problem solving...even on the tables and web pages I had to make up.) His tests are soooo hard and take a very long time to do! I had to make up 3 tables and a web page for him...plus answer 22 questions IN DETAIL! And that was just on 5 lessons. THERE ARE 52 LESSONS!!! So far I've done the first 15 lessons and only missed 2 questions and one of them was his fault...he had the wrong thing down in the lesson plan! Well..gotta go clean...have 25 people coming here for a BD party tomorrow!!! AND I HAVEN'T CLEANED GOOD IN 2 WEEKS!!!

It was supposed to be "cool" this weekend, but both days are over 80 and I have just had enough. Even my shrubs and bushes are dying. No rain here in weeks.
Candice....only the bottom of a bag of Fritos. I have to say that I have been very good about cheating. IF I do go for a snack I try to stay away from carbs so that means I eat too much cheese... And I am not eating as much fiber so I have to watch out.
There are these really cute journals of weight loss I read.....if you check out the man's, you can link to his wife's. He is onefatman.com. What was funny to me is that his big pig out food preweight loss was Little Debbie Cakes and I know some of you didn't know what they are.....
Check him out...

One of them is a gourmet cook and he poached a whole salmon-served with a sauce. And made a peach pie.I ended up bringing a simple dip made with whipped cream cheese-you could get fat free- mixed with sweet pepper relish. Very good. I brought baked tortilla chips and regular to go with it.But I did taste all desserts. That's ok-I have been doing ok going on and off WW-mostly on and I lost another lb. Hope it doesn't show up today.Bad news-my son in FL. was supposed to sign off on his house today and the people cancelled-which doesn't seem like they legally can. They had a deposit on a rental -half packed-and 500$ into supplies to make an office in the new place. It probably won't be resolved for a few days. Well-I'm going to call about subbing today.!!!Have a great day !Mima

Hi Everybody- I went away for a few days and it took me awhile to catch up. Went to my daughters and did a lot of fun things and ate tooooo much. Guess I gained back that lb. I lost last week . Got the worst sore throat! She is a teacher. I went to open house and I guess some of those snotty nosed kids must have had something.
Happy Canuk. You are so right !We could have a great time swapping stories. I had one of those spiders laid on my shoulder too years ago. The last thing I heard my husband say "don't do that ,Ray" That was all she wrote. I was out for the count.
I will never learn the things about the computer that meme and Candicej know. I am doing good to do as much as I do. You are so smart.
Hello Ally and Tootie and Memtoo. It was 93 here in Tarpon Springs yesterday.High humidity. I am looking forward to cool weather now.
Bye all....Joanne:wave:

Haven't heard from Anne since last Thursday and I don't even know how long it has been since Phyllis posted??? She must be having problems again!
Candice...I'm here but I don't have ICQ on much. I check my e-mail about 3 or 4 times a day so if you get the software and have problems with it just e-mail me and I'll get on ICQ and help you out. I don't think you will have any problems though. It is fairly easy to use. Once you install it just read the first few pages in the book and it should tell you all you need to know to get started. When you get ready to do your Christmas Labels let me know and if you can't figure out how to do it yourself, I'll walk you through putting some neat little Christmas graphics on your labels. I even print our names in my cards...can't write anymore...it hurts my hand too bad! I sometimes wonder what in the world I did before I got a computer!
Well girls...today is the first day of the rest of my life (to coin a phrase!) Ross started to Kindergarten today and it is just "me and Jenna Rae"! (Sounds like a country song, huh?) I have decided to "take charge" of myself and my surroundings! I know, I know...you all think that I'm doing too much already blah blah blah...but I know I can do so much better!!! I started a DRASTIC diet (weight loss plan, actually!) today and I'm going to start ORGANIZING my house. My house is never really what you'd call dirty or messy because I try to stay on top of everything as much as I'm able. If I let stuff slide I never feel like putting in the time to get it caught back up! But my closets all need cleaning out(weeding...I need to have a yard sale and get rid of some stuff.) All my dresser drawers need cleaning out and my basement never did get finished. I told myself this morning, "Self...just do it...just get started and...well...as long as it takes! JUST DO IT!" So I'm starting and doing a little each day...as much as I feel like doing, until I've lost 50 pounds and have my house completely organized! (This may take awhile!)

Hope you are all doing ok today, and that some of the hot weather has cooled down for you. It was around 90 degrees here yesterday and it is supposed to about the same today. The house gets so hot. The only good thing is, that during the night, it cools off considerably, as we are only a couple of hours from the mountains. So that helps a lot.
Had a family reunion yesterday, so have been busy. My daughter came down on Saturday, so didn't have a lot of time to get on this box. Our reunion was small yesterday. I guess people had a lot of other stuff to do, but those that attended had a great time. There were only about 40 of us. It is always potluck so there is always tons of food. My family just doesn't know how to do anything halfway. The thing that is getting better is that as we are all getting older, we sure eat less. At one time, all of the fellows used to go back for seconds, now they are content with just one helping. Unfortunatley, the dessert table still beckons to all the women:lol:
Mima - the thread goes to page 2 by itself. If you want to start a new thread, just click on NEW THREAD and then in the 'Post Subject' put in Fibromyalgia # whatever it is. Then just start typing as per usual. When you enter, it will show as a new thread.
To bad the medication for the osteoporosis is making you so sick. How long before the body is supposed to start to tolerate it? You are such a good dieter - I sure wish I could get some of this willpower that you ladies have. I used to have it as well, but lately I can't get with it.
Last week I was so tired. I was talking to a friend of mine and was telling her it was that 'loggy' kind of tired, like during the season changes, and she said that some of the trees are already starting to change, and the fall haze has started as well. During the evening, around 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., a haze forms. That is always a sure sign fall is on it's way. So, I guess that I was tired for a reason, anyway. It always lasts a few days and then I am fine again. I just want to sleep. It is like someone forgot to click on the switch when I woke up. Also, because I live at a resort area, there have been lots of campfires and the smoke really irritates my eyes and sinuses. So Friday and Saturday night were not pleasant, because I had to shut the windows to I could function. Had a headache going on as well. Anyway, by yesterday I was back to the land of the living. Feel great today.
Joanne - glad you had a good visit with your daughter. I always enjoy my daughter as well.
Meme - don't overdo it! Nice to just be down to one little girl, I would think. These kids have so much energy. Wish I could market some of that.
Ally - hope you have cooled off by now. I will have to go have a look at that site you put up. Will do that later today.
Hi Candice and Tootie. Hope you ladies are having a good day.

So Meme...what is a Drastic diet?
I think this low carb is good for not feeling hungry. I can't ever say that I cheat because I am really hungry.
I think I can give up sugar, pasta, potatoes, bread...but there is something about chips (fritos, potato chips, pringles) that just gets under my skin.
And I substitute nuts for the salt, then eat half a can.
Gotta weigh in on Friday.
Hope Ross does well in school, Meme. He's had a tough year.

Ally...thanks soooo much for the well wishes...he really HAS had a rough year. He is basically a good little boy...a bit hyper perhaps but not mean like the preschool made out. I gotta tell you all something really funny that happened last weekend. Paula (my daughter) was buying his school supplies at Wal Mart when they happened upon 4 people from the church we used to go to. For those of you that don't know what happened last spring...Ross was kicked out of the preschool at our church without warning and for basically behaving like a normal 4 yr. old. When the preschool board (of which my daughter was even a member) refused to do anything about it we quit going there. Anyway...back to Wal Mart...there was a woman, two men and a teenage boy standing there talking. Well...Ross was all excited because he had just come from open house at the new school where he is going to Kindergarten. They were all asking him about his new school and he just blurted out, "My Mama yanked me out of that other school. She said they were all a bunch of Goobers and didn't have any sense!" Paula said she was totally speechless. She said the teenage boy turned his back and was shaking with laughter! That happened Friday night and I've been laughing at least every other hour since!!! He turned 5 today. Doesn't seem like he should be that old!!!
Ally...drastic means whatever it takes! No more night eating, no more junk, way down on the fat and sugar, etc. Today I had a piece of toast for breakfast, some leftover chicken and rice for lunch and some chicken salad, made into a "ring" with crescent rolls and baked, for dinner. I had a few pretzels about 9 and that's it. About 1000 calories. I'm going to continue to eat about 1000 calories a day for the rest of the week and then up it to 1200 and then back to 1000 and so on until I've lost it all. I know it is going to be hard but I'm determined to do it! I need to lose 50 pounds!
Here's Ross...isn't he a doll??? :)

This is his little sister...Jenna Rae. She asked me over and over today, "Where Bubber?" Today was his first day at Kindergarten.
I almost did it again-I hit new thread but quickly got out of it.Meme-those kids are adorable!!!Weighed in last night-down 1.8 and .6 under goal. I don't know how I did it !!!!I went to acookout the day before but I did find out that tortilla chips are not as bad as I thought. And I love them.I want to be 3 lbs. under my goal which is set pretty high because of my age.And I got a job for 2 weeks. I called my former principal and she asked me if I would like my old job back for 2 weeks because the teacher had that much time left on her adoption leave. Then it's day to day. I just want to save enough for my Italy trip next year.Anyone been there?I can feel my allergies kicking up Meme.Things do come in ahead of time.Candice-how is your arm?I'm going for a walk today with my aunt after I fill out the sb forms. It's so much cooler-I hope there is no heat wave when school starts.Have a great day everyone!!!!Mima

The weather here in Florida is hot hot hot and humid. As always this time of year we are looking forward to cool weather. In the 90's. Happy Canuk you are lucky to live way up there in the north. But I guess you do get tired of the cold weather.
I hope your arm is much better Candice.
Memetoo those children are the cutist ever. We don't have any young grandchildren. They grew up too fast. My grandson is in the navy and my granddaughter is in her second year at Valdosta State. My son has no children. I keep hoping he will get married and have some. Be careful with your diet. Just eat healthy. With me it is always portion control. I like to eat more than I should.
Got company due next week. Not staying with me though:) They will be busy seeing some amusement parks and parts of the area. I will have to cook greek at least once though.
Hello Mema.
Bye for now....Joanne:wave:

REASONS TO EXERCISE!
It is well documented that for every minute that you exercise,
you add one minute to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional
5 months in a nursing home at $5000 per month
My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60.
Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where she is.
The only reason I would take up exercising
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up.
I have to exercise early in the morning
before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I like long walks, especially when
they are taken by people who annoy me.
I have flabby thighs, but fortunately
my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day
is that you die healthier.
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
And last but not least:
I don't exercise because it makes the ice
jump right out of my glass.
Good morning-I hope my attachment works!I finished my cross stitch project and have been showing it off on the computer. Two people thought it was for my daughter who is also named Suzanne. Now I'll have to find another one to do-probably simpler. My aunt and I walked yesterday and she treated me to lunch -Chinese-for my birthday next week.I don't want to have anymore of those.I went to sign up for subbing and they made me fill out an application-I taught for them for 36 years!!!That was funny, Meme. It's going to be very nice here today. I guess I'll have to walk again. That Chinese was great!!!!Have a great day-Mima File too big-how do I make it smaller-Meme. I took a picture with my digital camera.

Mima, that is beautiful. My daughter did a picture of the four seasons for me, in crosstitch and I love it. My girlfriend did a petitpoint picture of a english cottage with all the flowers and it is beautiful. I know, whoever it is who is getting this, will cherish it.
Meme - thank you for posting it for Mima. That was such a nice thing to do. By the way, those weren't enough reasons to exercise in this heat! Those grandchildren of yours are so cute.
Joanne - It isn't that cold up here. I suppose for you the mid 70's is a tad cool, but to me it is really warm. We will soon be starting into the Fall season up here - the air has already changed and the leaves of the trees are starting to turn. I just hope we have a nice long, warm fall. That is my favorite time of year. I love the crisp morning air and the cool evening air and the nice warm afternoons.
Ally - You said you had to weigh in. Did you join a group?
Candice - Hi. Hope your arm is feeling a whole lot better.
Hi Phyllis. Hope you can at least read. We miss you.
Anne
Hey Meme-thanks again. I gave it to the bride and she really liked it.It was sort of anti-climatic after working on it for so long.Talk in rthe morning. Mima
