Hey everyone! I'm in! I just joined this site today, and I'm very excited. I've been going to WW for 3-4 mos., and just maintaining. I only keep going so that I won't gain. That gets EXPENSIVE and frustrating, to say the least. So, here I am, searching for the motivation. I think I may have found it. I'm 150lbs., and feel REALLY good at 135. If I could get down to 130lbs., and have a 5lb. cushion, life would rock. So I guess I'm looking at a 20lb. loss in 3 months...definately doable...right?:) My plan is to journal everything that hits my mouth, start a loose exercise plan (I don't tend to stick to rigid regimens), and up the intake of water to four bottles a day (approx. 16oz.). Sound okay for now? What are ya'll gonna do? LET'S DO IT!:carrot:

I LIVE IN TEXAS SO THE WEATHER IS GENERALLY GOOD FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITY THAT SHOULD HELP..... ANY WAY I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON GOOD LUCK, WE CAN ALL DO THIS WE'VE ALREADY TAKEN THE FIRST STEP!:ebike:

Hey all!! I'd like to get in on this! I just started WW last week (first WI is today, wish me luck) and I want to start doing some exercises at home. I had a YMCA membership but wasn't going and it was kind of a waste and expensive for me right now. So I will get out and walk when it's nice and do things in the house when it's not. That's my plan for now...:carrot:

Yay! People to help keep me motivated!! I'm sure you all saw my ticker, ok this months goal is gonna be just about impossible to meet! We went on vacation for a week and we ate crap and I gained 3.5 lbs! ACK!
So, as far as weigh in go, I guess I always weigh myself on Sunday, but I dunno what you guys like to do.
I'm not following a specific plan persay, I try to get to the gym everyday, and I eat for nutrition's sake, not for flavor. (meaning plain greens, boiled chicken, blah blah food!)
I have a 7 month old son and am really trying to get rid of the baby fat as well as what was there b4!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi everyone! this is my first day on this site. i would love to join the challange. I had a baby boy, diego, three months ago, and had a big wake up call when i had not lost any weight after giving birth, even though i am breast feeding. i started using fitday.com three weeks ago and have lost 11 lbs so far. i have been overweight my entire life. i put my eventual goal weight as 140, but the truth is that i haven't been that weight since i was 13 years old. makes me nervous! my goals: i want to be able to keep up with diego when he starts moving around, without loosing my breath, or passing him off to my husband, because "mommy is tired". so, i am here. willing and ready to give being fit and healthy a shot!

Welcome Mamabear and SSparkles! :welcome2: I've just finished dinner, one yummy soft taco. I came in at 24 WW points for the day. I'm in the 18-23 range with 35 flex points per week, so that's cool. I'm heading for the treadmill now, so should get another bottle of water or two in me before the night is through! I just LOVE seeing that dancing carrot!:carrot: Okay, so I feel really good about today. Let's see if we can make it two in a row! "Inch by inch, it's a cinch!" I weigh in at WW on Thursday nights.

I like the carrot too!:carrot: It's cute!
So we're going to WI on Sundays? tHat's my day b/c I don't own a scale and Allen and I always go to parent's house on Sun. (Allen is my baby in my sig) I've been rediculously hungry all week and it's driving me crazy! We went on vacation last week and now I'm having trouble getting back into the routine. I did pretty good today, went to the gym and ate happy skinny food. :D I went to the gym in the morning, and I don't going then b/c they have a class for people 65+ and then they all sit around drinking coffee :coffee2: and they really fill the place up and get in the way. Go to the gym to workout, then mingle someplace else!:nono:
I told my husband that he needs to turn into a drill sargent:coach: for me to help keep me motivated. Yell and tell me to keep moving and call me names. He said that he wouldn't do that. Maybe I should hire my ex, he was always good at calling me fat!:tantrum:
Ok, so we're all going to really great this week and have an awesome weigh in on Sunday! :cheer:

Wow! I'm excited that we have such successful losers on this challenge! Whatever y'all are doing, keep it up and SHARE!!!:carrot: I did 45 minutes on the treadmill at a brisk pace last night. When I do it, I only do 30 mins., so I was very proud of myself.:D I got in 4 bottles of water yesterday. I've got my 4 bottles on the counter right now, ready for today. :rain: Is it bad to have a Kashi bar for breakfast? It's a chocolate/peanut butter crunch thing. It's only 3 points. I did it yesterday and it seemed to hold me over until about 2pm, when I had a Smart One's lunch (5pts.). It's protein and fiber. The only problem is that is tears the heck out of the roof of your mouth. I think I might break out that pilates dvd today. I've had it forever, but never really tried it. Has anyone done pilates? Any tips?

Hey Bombshell,

Good Morning All

I Recently Bought The Windsor Pilates Set Hoping That It Would Be The Real Deal. For The Most Part I Like Them But I Do Have One Complaint, On Some Of The Floor Work You Are Instructed To Do Say 10 Leg Raises On The Left Then The Video Skips Right Over Doing The Other Side, Iguess You Could Pause And Do It That Way But For Me That Kinda Ruins The Rythm. Any One Have Any Other Dvds They Recommend?

I Havent Excercised This Morning, But I Did The Past Two Maybe I Can Walk Around My Teeny Tiny Little Office At Work Lol The Guys Will Think I Have Finally Lost It:dizzy:

I had a video that's called cardio salsa, it's really fun and kinda hard! The only problem is that you need a big room to di it in, so I havn't touched it in a while.
May 29th sounds good, I don't care!
35 lbs? Eh, 25,30,35 wqhatever!!
I went for a one hour walk today instead of going to the gym. It was nice to walk and look at something other than sweaty people!

Great job, Mel! That's the law of inertia at work, right?:carrot: Once you start moving, your body wants to keep moving. It was such a nice day here yesterday, I ended up spending my workout time picking up sticks with Jake (my 5yr. old). We've got 2-1/2 acres with trees, so there are ALOT of sticks to be gathered. Many, many squats. I have to think of creative ways to exercise, because I just don't like it!:barf: I guess Dr. Phil calls it "intentional exercise" because our grandparents exercised just by living, life just wasn't as convenient as it is today. Jake goes to Play 'n Share this morning, so if it's nice, I'm going to go walk around a local track for atleast 30 mins.. How did everyone else do yesterday? How's everyone's water intake? I think I got 4 bottles in, or really close to it. FLUSH THE FAT!!!:dancer:

I got 3 bottles of water in yesterday. That's what I shoot for. It's 60 oz. so I figure I'm doing good with that. I am hoping to go for a walk today. It is supposed to be 50 today so it will be plenty nice out for me to do it. I don't have any memberships anymore so I have to rely on nice weather to get me going. I am still not great about doing things inside.

This is so cool to have all of us doing this!! I love the support.

I'm out for now but you ladies have a great day and get moving!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

Hello All!!
I'm glad I found this challenge just in time for the 29th!! I would love to join! I would like to lose 30-35lbs total in time for my birthday on June 10th (my 25th) :hat: May 29th works out perfect!
I've been dieting and excercising since January 2nd and as of right now I have lost 9lbs...I still have 21-26lbs to go! It's definitely doable!! I'm in guys!! :carrot:

My plan is to keep up going to the gym in the mornings-walking for 45min, 4-5x a week. I'm still waiting to recieve my Turbo Jam DVD in the mail, as soon as that comes, I will add that and workout at home in the evenings. My diet right now is Michael Thurmond's 6wk body makeover, but I will probably customize it and add a little WW in there. As for the water... I think 4 bottles is a realistic goal!
I have cut my drinking WAAAAYY back!! (I'm only 24, I still like to hang out w/my friends and have drinks, but lets just say that having too much fun EVERY weekend since I turned 21 is what got me into this mess in the first place!) I haven't had a drink since New Year's eve and have decided to drink only for certain occasions. I do have plans for a "girls night out" on February 10th, but after that, I'm not planning on drinking again until I go to Switzerland in March.

Alright guys! Sounds like we all have a plan! Lets do it!!:ebike:

I would like to join this challenge! My first mini-goal is actually 10% of my body weight which is 10.4 KG or 23lbs BUT I could try to push myself a leeeetle bit harder and go for 13.6 which would be 30 lbs :) I'm going to go for it!!

Wow! We've really got something going here! How exciting! I was going to WW meetings, but stopped Thurs. night. I decided to try it on my own, give my hubby the 12.00 checks every week. When I lose 10lbs., he's to give them all back to me and I'll get the pocket pc I've been wanting.:) Should be great motivation, right?:) I've been doing great with the water intake for the past few days (since starting this challenge). I've been doing really good with the exercise too. I went trail walking yesterday for 40 mins.. That was really nice...and COLD! Now I need to concentrate on the journaling. I really let myself slip on that. I've just GOT to do it! When I do, it's awesome, it's like the fat just melts off me! Somebody out there keep me accountable please!!!:^: My hubby and I are going out to dinner tonight with some friends. I want to allow myself one drink. I'm going to have to be REALLY good all day in order to afford the points for dinner. Any ideas on how to stay on track with the journaling???

01-28-2006, 04:13 PM
I use www.fitday.com. It's wicked simple and all the info for calorie intake is on the site, and if it's not there you can usually find the info on Peapod or company sites. They also have a little journal area so you can track how you were feeling or whatever.

I went Roller Skating last night. Yeah, that was interesting... LOL I haven't been on skates in about 16 years. I didn't fall thought I came close. :) I did that for an hour and then this morning I did an hour of aerobics. (can you say tired?)

Bombshell2B
01-29-2006, 11:38 AM
Rollerskating?! Wow! I don't know if I could even do that anymore. Is it like riding a bike? We used to go every Sunday night.:) Those were the days. Great idea for a workout, though. I'm trying to change it up, to think of exercise differently. Yesterday I did my Pilates DVD (GAIAM) for 45 mins.. I'd never tried it. I really like it alot. I don't like doing the same thing day in, day out, though. Today I might walk outside if it's nice or go to my cousins to do the treadmill. I'm trying to get SOME kind of exercise in everyday. My water intake is excellent. I lost 2lbs.! I LOVE seeing that ticker go down.:) I'm really, really encouraged. Thanks, AllensMom, for starting this thread!!!:carrot: Oh, my journaling has been good the last few days, too. I should just stand in a pan or something, because this weight is just going to MELT off of me!!!:carrot:

My goals for this week are to keep the water intake up (4 bottles/day), keep the journaling up and exercise atleast 5 days. Let's go girls, WE CAN DO IT! Bombshell, I HAVE to journal right now. I just started WW a week and 1/2 ago and I still have trouble remembering how many pts I've used. I have a simple tracker form on my puter is you'd like me to fwd it to you. It tracks for a week. It's a very simple form but it's something. Let me know if you'd like to at least take a look at it. My current weight according to WW scale from last Wed is 215.2. I am down from the previous week by 1.4 lbs. Not much but I'll take it!! :carrot:

I found some pages I took out of a magazine for floor exercises to do at home so I will be doing those today. I need to do better on my water. I did good yesterday but the couple of days before that I didn't do so good. :(

Oh and thanks for the reminder about the summer clothes in the bottom drawer (which by the way do not currently fit well). :p The WILL fit by the time I need them to though!:carrot:

Hello everyone!
Well...the scale says that I'm still 151...works for me! As long as I don't gain, I'll be happy! I should lose at least a lb this week, so I'm not worried.
Excercising has been going really well! I'm still going to the gym in the mornings 4x a week. I even added in my Turbo Jam DVD that I just recieved. I did that Friday night and Saturday morning! Let me tell you, boy was I sore yesterday & today (my 2 days off)!! Back to the gym in the a.m. tomorrow...45 min of walking. My water intake this past weekend was horrible!!!! :nono: I hope to get back on track this week. I seem to always do better during the work week. I just bought a new water bottle that has measurements on it, so that will be helpful!
keep on trucking ladies!
P.S. Bombshell, you are encouragement enough for me!! I must say, you keep me excited about this challenge b/c you are so upbeat!! Thanks!!! :sunny:

Today was day 2 of "no gym" for me. I've been a lot of problems with my left hip and my neck. My hip seems to get worse when I workout, go figure! My neck will always bother me I think, I had an accident lst year where a bar stool fell on my head, and I've had trouble ever since. But, back to the grind tomorrow!
We're hopefully going to be moving soon, and I always loose weight when I move b/c of all the wrok it entails, and b/c I don't keep much around then either!
Oh, happy news! My sister had her baby today! I'm so excited! She had a little girl! Yay!
Sounds like everybody is doing really awesome! I was bad last night, we ordered pizza, but I had 2 small pieces and didn't want anymore. Today I wasn't hungry all day. I munched on a few of my son's cheerios, and then made baked chicken with mozzerella and marinara sauce, and hole wheat pasta. I had a little piece of chicken w/no cheese and some of the pasta. It was good. I think I've been stressing a lot the past few days about my sister and moving and money and we're talking about TTC again . . . it makes my appetite go whacko!

Hey all! I did Pilates this morning. I just started the "GAIAM" program. Went to Meijer yesterday and spent 30.00 on a good mat, so now I HAVE to do it.:) Water's going well. Journaling is going good, too. Thanks, Mamabear, for the computer journal offer. I'd love to check it out. How did the floor exercises from the mag. go? Hang in there. It sounds like you have alot going on right now, just put your water, exercise, eating on "good girl" autopilot and sail right through it.:) You'll feel better and look great for all your new neighbors.:D GrapeCoffee, great job on the 1/2lb. down! Think of a 1/2 tub of butter, flushed right out of your body!!! Yeah!!!:carrot: Christie, great job on the exercising! Are you loving the Turbo Jam? Let me know how the measured water bottle works for you. I've been getting my 4 bottles in, but I hate using all that plastic (even though we recycle). Thanks for the kudos, BTW, it actually helps ME to stay on track if I know I'm helping someone else;) Have a great day everyone! I'm off to see the grandparents today!!! Grandma's food...yummy, MUST HAVE PORTION CONTROL!!!

LOL Bombshell! I know that feeling. My mom's food is my downfall. She is 74 and cooks "old school." Very fatty but oh so good!! We go there for dinner every week and I have to keep myself in check there.

The floor exercises went well. Not too sore. I am going to the mall to walk today. It's cold and yucky outside so I can't do it here. I like to window shop so it works well for me.

OK I have to get in the shower or it'll never get done. I used to be able to leave the door open and let the man be in the living room but he gets on the couch now and that's just not good.

Welcome oh nervous one.:) We won't bite. We're all in the same boat. I was watching The Biggest Loser last night and Jillian said something to the effect of, "You're going to have days where you're right on track and days where you fall off the wagon. It's a cycle, just like life." Isn't that cool? I've been hanging off the wagon the last couple days. Not falling, really, just not trying extra hard. Going to Mamaw's was a bad day, food and exercise wise. The other days, I've just been kind of going through the motions. Today, I'll get my water in (I'm going to find me a water bottle like you Earthy-one). My exercise will most likely be cleaning my Mom's house. I do that once a month for extra cash. If I have energy tonight, I'll go do the treadmill. I just have to pick myself up and get motivated again. :carrot: Here we go...round 2! Everyone have a great day!!! Oh, another thing, on The Biggest Loser, the theme song says something like "What have you done to make yourself proud today?" Cool thought. When I'm REALLY good ALL day, I DO feel proud of myself. Here's to feeling proud of ourselves tonight!:coffee:

Hi everyone. I hope you all are doing well on your new healthy living. I am at a plateau right now, but Im kind of slacking on the exercise. Its so hard to get motivated. I tried a bellydancing exercise video the other day and was surprised how much it did. Plus it was kind of fun, even though I was very awkward feeling. We have on-demand on our tv and they have tons of different exercise videos for free so I can switch it up. I have 15 to go and it seems like these are going to take forever and be the hardest. Good luck today girls. Keep on keepin on.

Beaner, as far as what I've always heard, 1/2 to 1 lb per week is healthy and not more than 2. Anyone else know for sure?

Bombshell, I love the quotes from biggest loser. I would love to get into watching that show but I always forget. I should find it and set a reminder on my cable box.

I also think I am going to start recording the yoga show that is on public tv here in the mornings. It is on really early but I could record them and do them when the man takes his nap. At least it's something. I have WW wi tonight...wish me luck!

Beaner-They have excercising stuff on demand???? I have on demand at home as well, how do I find the excercises? Does it depend on your local area and cable provider?

Bombshell-I LOVE the biggest loser! I've watched every single episode since season 1! LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! I'm so glad they decided to do speciales right now for the beginning of the year! They really keep me motivated too!

Well, I did really good with the water bottle yesterday...today, not so much. I didn't make it to the gym this morning either b/c I just couldn't get my butt out of bed at 5:45 this morning...I have been putting in extra work outs though, so I can't feel too guilty. Last night I did Turbo Jam 20min workout and Turbo sculpt. (AND I went to the gym yesterday morning and did 45min on the treadmill) It's still early afternoon, I still have time to drink at least 1 water bottle full....hopefully.
I may be going Skiing on Saturday (first time ever! uh oh!) so that will be a good added workout for the weekend!

Christie- Go to on demand and look for sports & exercise. Then you look for the different choices. Yoga, Pilates, belly dancing, etc.... Its pretty cool becuase you can do different stuff throughout the week. Hope this helps.

Earth2Terra- Im on the Sonoma Diet and I cheat. I love sweets and chocolate. More than life. I cant go without it totally so I have been eating 2-4 south beach oatmeal/choc chip cookies a day. They are awesome. So are their peanut butter ones. This is totally against my diet because it doesnt like much in the way of processed foods, but the natural stuff. I also eat a couple of the sugar free jellos a day. Its better than cupcakes and brownies, which I used to eat daily.

What does everyone else cheat with?

Im not sure what you mean by the the tickers for days of not cheating. Havent seen those.
Hope everyone did well today.

I've been MIA for WAY too long! Welcome to all the newbees! Thanks for joining!
We're moving so I've been going crazy here! I went to the gym today and it felt great! I really worked off a lot of steam!
I don't remember who asked how much weight is safe to loose in a week . . . but I've heard 1-2 lbs per week is ok. That's pretty much how I've gotten to where I am now. I actually lost the 1st 10 from just eating better. Now I'm working my tail off! I hope my ticker moves when I WI this week!
I've been feeling skinny and have had a few of my friends comment on how I look thinner and look good . . . so that helps me feel motivated!

I had wi and I am down 7.4 for a total of 8.8! :carrot: :carrot:

As far as a chocolate fix I found out tonight about a fudge brownie mix that uses vanilla yogurt. It is called Pudgie Pig or something like that. It comes in a pink box and you can find it in the isle with the boxed baking things like cakes and brownies. You can make a pan of them or there are directions on how to make just one at a time and on WW they are 2 pts. Sounds yummy to me since that has been the thing that I miss the most is my chocolate but there are so many pts in anything chocolate. And now with AF visiting...

Going to have to see if we have the on demand exercising! That would be awesome!

Terra your ticker only shows up one time in each thread so it saves on the site having to load so much. I think that's part of why they're changing servers.

OK ladies gonna get going for tonight...have a good one!

WAY TO GO, MAMABEAR!!!:carrot: You're doing awesome! Thanks for the journals, by the way.:) That was sweet of you. Welcome to the new RaceRunner. We're running right along with you. I did pretty good on points yesterday, excellent on water and excellent on exercise (50 mins. on the treadmill, plus cleaning Mom's house). I was severely sweaty when I was done with the treadmill.:D You've got to love that feeling! I'm going to try to do Pilates later in the day. It seems that I'm just not coordinated enough to do it in the am. I'm not sure what that's about. Mom's taking me to lunch today, so that will be my challenge of the day. I'll try to be good and report in later tonight.:) What did you all do to make yourselves proud yesterday?;) Keep it up girls!!! We're doing great!:carrot:

Welcome to you MaryPat and to anyone else who has shown up. :) I have to say I would have killed someone for chocolate yesterday as Aunt Flo was coming for a visit. I was SO good though and I only had a No Pudge fudge bar and a half of a granola bar with chocolate chips. About 120 calories... AND I even had a Chocolate Caramel Heart in my car... that I knew about and consciously didn't eat.

LOL Grape. I was close. Pudgie Pig...No Pudge. I knew there was a pig involved somehow (the pic on the box). Thanks for giving the right name though. They will be much easier to find if you have the right one. :p

Great job on all the moving Bombshell!! That's great! No problem on the journals. I hope you can use at least one of them. :)

I am most proud that at dinner at Applebee's when they brought me my birthday sundae that I only ate half of it. It was a small sundae and the amount that I ate was only 4 pts. :)

Good Morning!

Grapecoffee, thanks for the welcome, and I'm really impressed! Eating half a granola bar, or half of anything for that matter, is REALLY hard for me. I must be a charter member of the clean-plate club. If I've measured it out and counted it, gosh darn it, I'm gonna eat it. I've just recently gotten it together enough to stop eating something if it's just mediocre instead of really good. If I'm going to put it in my body, I want to enjoy it in the process.

Stepped on the scale this morning, and I'm down 2 pounds! Woohoo!!! I'm now officially the same weight I was the day after my baby was born.:dizzy: Am I the only woman alive who gains weight "after" the baby's born? Now it's time to progress on to a slinkier me.

My daily goal is to eat between 1200-1400 calories and either walk or bike for at least 45 minutes. In-laws are coming this afternoon, so I'm going to have to really work to get my exercise in, but I'll get'r done one way or another.

Runningmyrace-:welcome2: We are glad to have you on our team!

Well, yesterday was a little rough...never went to the gym yesterday morning, wasn't doing well on my water intake, AND I went to dinner last night to celebrate a friend's 30th b-day and I had dessert!! Ugh!! :nono:
BUT!! I did drink 2 large glasses of water during dinner and once I got home, I felt motivated enough to work off that dessert, so I did 45min of Turbo Jam (cardio Party Mix1) :carrot: . Plus drank another half of a waterbottle of water during my workout..so everything turned out well!

Running, that's awesome!! And no you are not alone in gaining weight after a baby. lol

Christie, good job on the exercise!! I think sometimes we end up equaling out the bad things we do if we keep it in our head that we did not such a good thing. We work really hard to lose our weight!

I have a question for you all. When starting out did you ever feel that nothing changed? Right now I have lost almost 9 lbs but I don't feel any different. I talked for a long time with dh about it last night but of course he doesn't understand being soo overweight that getting to a healthy weight seems miles and miles away. He's just a tiny bit over right now (10 lbs) and couldn't possible relate to where I am.

Here is my mental state right now: I don't feel like I lost 9 lbs. I think I thought I would notice that much of a loss. I also feel like it's not true, like the next time I get on the scale it's going to say 216 again. I have panic attacks every week before WI, thinking that the scale is going to say I'm back where I started. I even thought that the scale was wrong since I was on a different one from the week before. I am working so hard to lose this weight. I write down EVERYTHING that goes into my body, no matter how small it may seem. I stress if I use any felx pts. And I have it stuck in my head that I am always going to be fat no matter what I do since I have been for really all of my adult life. I gained a LOT of weight with my first child and I had her when I was 19 and I have been fat ever since. I don't know how to NOT be fat. And I keep thinking that even though I am following the WW program to a "t" that it's not going to keep working.

I know I've rambled and I'm sorry for that. I just wonder if any of you have felt the same thing and how do you get around that feeling? When does it go away? Does it ever go away?

Hey Mamabear, hang in there girl! It's hard to be so disciplined when you don't see or feel immediate results. You're doing GREAT! Nine pounds is AWESOME! Think of it in terms of the percentage lost. I'm not sure what your goal is, but think of it as, "20% down, 80% to go". I don't know, just an idea. I'm sure your clothes are fitting better. Last time I lost weight, people didn't start noticing until I lost 20lbs. In a way, it's nice. It means that your friends and family aren't scrutinizing your weight, right. I thought for sure I'd be up in weight today. I had 3 challenging days that I only half-way met with discipline. I guess I did okay, though. I'm still down 1lb.! I'll take it! :carrot: Water intake is good, exercising is tough, but I'm starting to find a groove thing. Journaling will always be an issue with me. This week, I'm going to consciously think about journaling and continue with the water. I will have atleast 3 structured exercise sessions, hopefully filling in another 2 or 3 with unstructured activity (picking up sticks, etc.):) WE ARE GOING TO LOOK SOOOOOO GOOD GIRLS! Oh yeah!!!:carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb:

Thanks Bombshell. It's just different for me now. I usually go a few days and then go off the diet. I'll lose like 5 lbs and then gain it right back. I am really sticking with this. But I find myself on the scale all day long. I weigh myself almost every time I go to the bathroom thinking that the scale is going to mysteriously say 216 again. I don't know why I do that. My 10% point will be 21 lbs. Maybe that will be the point when I will finally be over this. I don't know...:dizzy:

Anyway great job on you pound! That's great. Any loss is a good loss. :cheer:

I bought one of the Crystal Light water bottle thingies, blue raspberry, and it is really good!! It doesn't even taste at all like light. It tastes like Kool-Aid!! Super yummy. Definately makes water drinking easier! May have to get some more. OK have a great day everyone!

To the two moms above trying to lose weight, we have something in common. I was 124 prepreggers and went to 166 on day of birth. I lost a lot of weight at first and thought it would just keep going, but I was wrong. I actually gained weight. I just stopped breastfeeding last week and my daughter is 18 months old. So, you are not alone with the whole gaining after birth thing.

My sunday weigh in is down a pound from last week. woohoo. Im on the sonoma diet, but have not done great the last two days. Mexican restaurant yesterday and hot wings today. Not great, but tomorrow Im going to take charge again.

I dont mind a little cheating here and there. You do only live once.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend. Have a happy monday. :drill: :goodscale :goodluck:

Running- WELCOME! I'm right there with you on the baby weight! My son, Allen is 7 mos, I'm so determined to take of the rest the weight!
Beaner- I was 160 pre-preggo, and 191 at the end. I lost 14 lbs right off the bat, then put it right back on again! So we've got a lot in common there!
WI: 171!! YAY! I've hit the 20lb marker! I'm so excited!
Mamabear- I felt the same way about not noticing the loss, until the other day a friend of mine made a comment about how much thinner I looked, then I started noticing.
Everybody's doing great! Losses everywhere! That's awesome! We're on our way!

OK!! I went WAY off my diet this weekend!! I think I've gained about 3lbs back! I am soooo disappointed in myself! :sorry: I've worked so hard and like an idiot, I threw myself off totally this weekend! I'm afraid I won't be able to get back into my stride again!

Mamabear-I understand how you are feeling. I lost 9lbs (well, DID lose 9lbs, but after this weekend...sniff, sniff...I think I'm screwed!) and don't feel like I've lost anything. I feel like 9lbs is a significant amount of weight too, but no one has said anything to me about looking any thinner... I really don't feel thinner.
Hang in there! Know that you are not alone!!

I'm on an emotional rollercoaster myself. Today, was a definite down day after getting on that stupid scale that haunts me... I understand how easy it is to gain weight back now...3lbs doesn't seem like much, but when u work soooo hard to get off 9 and you gain 3 of it back...it's so frustrating.
I went skiing for the first time ever on Saturday. I thought it was a really great workout that totally kicked my butt...WRONGO!!
It WAS a really great workout and it DID totally kick my butt...but kicked it so bad that I was physically drained the rest of the weekend to the point where I didn't have the energy to cook myself healthy meals or make myself a healthy lunch today. I really wanted to do 45min of Turbo Jam tonight to try to at least make myself feel better about those 3lbs, but all I want to do is get into my jammies and hang out on the couch! I'm in a slump...:kickcan: HELP!!!
I'm afraid I'm going to giveup! when something goes wrong, I always seem to fall off track! I feel like crying...

Christie- Hugs to you sweetie! Don't give up! After my vacation I gained 3.5 lbs and I was so disapointed in myself. But I got of my butt and worked. I'm sure that nobody has said anything either b/c they see you everyday and therefore don't notice changes as frequently, or they don't want to insult you. I think some people are afraid that if they say anything about your loss, they might make you self concious.
Hang in there, Girl! We're here for you! Just remember, you can't reach your goals laying down!

I like that, "You can't reach your goals lying down". Everyone of us is going to have ups and downs in this journey. It's just a part of it. It's just great that you caught yourself on the way down. Don't think of it as gaining 3lbs., think of it as a slip that you've caught. No problems. Down 9, up 3, down 6, up 2...no problems as long as you keep going down more than you go up, right? Don't be blue, just hang in there with us! We're all going to make this happen!!!:carrot: A friend of mine joined weight watchers about a month ago and has lost 11.5lbs.! You don't know how weak that makes me feel.:^: If she can do it, why can't I? Where is the discipline? Where is the willpower? Are some people born with it and others not? I WANT MY PANTS TO FIT AGAIN!!!!

Wow! Look at all these other moms who gained after having their babies! Why does everyone tell us we'll lose when we breastfeed? I've had four children, and I've never lost anything until after I finished breastfeeding. I was always famished, and didn't have much time to plan meals or get much exercise other than walking with the stroller.

Alright, now with the quick and dirty: I totally binged this weekend. Part of it was I overworked and overstressed myself because my in-laws were here, part of it was a sick toddler, part of it was eating out, but most of it was me. What a stupid thing to do! I ate Sunday (after company left) when I was alone with my sick daughter until I felt physically sick myself. How pleasureable can it be if you feel sick? I wish we knew WHY we do such things. And DH and I are planning for a trip to Italy this summer, I SO don't want to be the 'chubby' american. There's so much good going on in my life, why should I sabbotage myself like this? :dizzy: Alright, no more of that! Onward to the finishline!

I weighed myself this morning--better just to face the facts, and I'll work all this week to undo the damage. So...that's one week's wasted I can't get back, gotta remember that for next time.

I think I'm going to spread out my calories more and eat mini-meals, I'm getting too hungry between meals, plus I'm not eating enough dairy. I'll give it a try and see if it helps keep the evil cravings at bay.

I wish the best for all of you today, and that you find time for yourself to exercise. Have a great one!:D

Running- I didn't BF, but I thought the weight was just going to go away after having Allen. HA! 7 months later and 10lbs left of baby weight . . . and 15 of "just me" weight! They say that since it takes 9 months to put it on, it should take that long to take it off . . . then you look at all these celebrities like Heidi Klum walking the Victoria's Secret fashion show 4 weeks after having a baby! OMG! How do they do that? It can't be healthy!

That just means we have to work that much harder this week. Get moving :carrot: and eat your veggies! That's what I eat in between meals to keep me going. I have small baggies of baby carrots and when I need a fix I grab one. It's just enough to satisfy me and I drink a glass of water. By then I'm pretty filled up and can make it to the next meal. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement! I feel much better now than I did when I first saw the gain. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a bad week. I think I would feel 10x worse if everyone else was doing great and I was the only one falling off the horse!
My body is still a little sore from the skiing on Saturday-I can't believe it's taking me this long to get back to normal...I finally feel up to getting back into Turbo Jam again. I think that's my plan for this evening. I've still been going to the gym in the AM, so at least I've stayed on track with that. I am just going to have to kick it into high gear the rest of the week. :ebike:
I believe I'm back down 2lbs from my gain, but we'll see.....I need to prepare myself for this weekend so that I don't slip again.

Christie, great attitude! I'm glad you got yourself back on track! Just keep taking it one day, even one meal at a time. Tell yourself this meal is going to be healthy. Don't think about the next one and don't think about last weekend. It over now and you can't change it. You can only change the choices you make in the future. Make the choice to eat the next healthy meal, make the choice to do your turbo jam and move forward!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Mamabear, thanks for that virtual kick in the butt! I'm back on track with my eating and feeling better about myself. It's a gorgeous day out, so I'm going to go bike riding as soon as I get the baby asleep (I homeschool, so I have some baby-sitting help). I popped supper in the crockpot, a light chicken florentine lasagna recipe, and we'll have some cantaloupe with it.

I think for me the problem was the time of year, February hit and the 'newness' of the healthy lifestyle wore thin. I'm glad to see everyone back on track. It's not the fall that matters, it's the getting up. Congrats for all of us for getting back up!!!

Hi all! I havn't been to the gym since last Thursday . . . I'm having some ovary problems and it sometimes hurts just to get up and down! But . . . I'm really hoping that I will be all better soon, if not I might just need to deal with he pain and get workin anyway!
I put on a pair of jeans I havn't worn in maybe 2 months. They are WAY too BIG! I'm super excited, so I kept them on all day to enjoy what it feels like to have my jeans not fit anymore!
Of course, then I took Allen to playgroup and everytime I bent over my bum was sticking out! OOOPS!
Ok, I hear him crying upstairs . . .

Will do Terra! I'm glad to see us all back on track too! I love that when one (or a few lol) of us falls there is another to help pick us back up and get back on track! :grouphug: Woo Hoo!!

WI is tonight, I'm not as nervous as I usually am but I still am a little. :( We'll see how it goes...

I am proud of myself for making the decision today to continue with my program. I will work on my water and getting myself to work-out.

Have a great day all!!

Well, I figured out the reason why I've had such a lack in energy..it wasn't from the skiing after all. I've got a fricken COLD!!! :sp: Ugh!!! Woke up with it this morning in full blast! Needless to say, I didn't go to work today. I want this cleared up quick so that I can get back to excercising. If it's not one thing it's another, right?!
REST, REST, REST-that's what I'm doing today. I made some low carb veggie soup this past weekend, so that'll work fantastically (is that even a word? lol) today too. I think a whole day in my Pj's on the couch is exactly what I needed.
Last night I tried to do Turbo Jam and I only got about 15-20 min into it..i thought it was strange....The mystery is solved!
grapecoffee-where abouts in MA are u from?? I live in MA too, Springfield area.
Allensmom-good for you w/the drooping pants!! I can't wait until I can put a pair of my old ones on and those suckers fall off! What a great feeling!
How old is everyone doing this challenge? I'm curious....
We make a great team guys! :grouphug: Keep up the good work!

Hi girls. I hope everyone is doing well today. Ive started pilates this week and its great. Its not as hard as it looks and you feel it the day after, but you can still move. I have not lost any this week so I have to step up the exercising.

There is a great walking program in self magazine that I read and thougt I would post it here since there are a lot of walkers. I hope it helps and Im going to start it today. They have 3 programs, but Im not going to post the beginners one. You can just modify the ones that I post.

Week 1: 30 minutes for 5 days
Pace: warm up 5 min; normal walking 5 min; speed walking 5 min; normal walking 5 min; speed walking 5 min; cooldown 5 min

Week 2: 35 minutes for 5 days
Pace: warm up 5 min; normal walk 5 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 10 min; speed walk 5 min; cooldown 5 min

Week 3: 45 minutes for 5 days
Pace: warm up 5 min; normal walk 5 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 8 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 7 min; speed walk 5 min; cooldown 5 min

Week 4: 45 minutes for 5 days
Pace: warm up 5 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 5 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 5 min; speed walk 5 min; normal walk 5 min; speed walk 5 min; cooldown 5 min.

This is a challenge in the magazine and guarantees to help you lose weight. I dont do well without structure so I posted this incase someone else is the same way. Sorry its so long.

They also have a harder one where you alternate speed walking with normal every 20-30 seconds for 40-60 minutes. So if you need more challenge try that. Good luck ladies.

Christie- Hope you are feeling better soon! Lots of fluids and rest.
I am 24. Just turned in fact.
I'm wearing the droopy pants again today! I know it's silly, but I love having to keep puilling them up! It makes me feel good. Ok, I won't wear them tomorrow!
I'm so stressed out right now! Mark e-filed our taxes 9 days ago and we were suppoed to get our rufund tomorrow. He went online to check the status and it had been rejected! Long story short- the IRD said my last name was still my maiden name, and the social security dept said it was my married name. So he had to totally re-file it and now we aren't getting our refund until the 24th! We can't move until we get our refund. So we will get 1 weekend to move out and clean this place up. Of course, the place we live in now was a total dump when we moved into it, so I guess even if I don't clean it, it'll look 100 times better than it did when we moved in!
Sorry for the long post . . . I'm just crazed about thsi right now. I'm going to the gym tonight, no matter how much pain I'm in, and I'm gonna blow off some major steam!

Hi Christie, sorry about your cold... though I can't say I am surprised with the weather we have been having! I live near Clinton/Hudson/Marlboro... right off 495.

Are you going to do the Walk for Hunger in Boston in May? My friend and I are going to do it so we have a "physical" goal for our weight loss. http://www.projectbread.org/site/PageServer?pagename=walk_main
there is the url if you wanted to take a look.

Hey All! I'm baaaaack. :D I was feeling like a loser, so I didn't want to bring my negativity to the table. I haven't been meeting my challenges very well, so the scale has been inching up. Anyway, I LOVE the attitudes here! Everyone's so positive!:carrot: That's how we're going to do it! I love the "one meal at a time" thought. Was that you, Mamabear? That's exactly how I have to do it. I really needed this kick in the cyberpants, thank you! I'm off to Meijer now to get some food in this house, only healthy stuff...no crap!:nono: I've done the treadmill twice this week for one hour each time. I'll do Pilates today and tomorrow, and then treadmill again on Saturday. Here we go, hitching ourselves up by the cyber-boots. One more 'gin!!!:carrot:

Sabrina I love pilates. I just started and you're exactly right...it's easier than it looks but it doesn't kill you!! I didn't do it today cause I was running most of the day but I will definately do it tomorrow.

Off to ww meeting now...have a good night everyone!

Hello everyone!
Mel, love those baggy jeans! That's a reason to celebrate for sure, and a great motivator to keep going. I don't have any yet, but I can't wait.

Christie, I sure hope you're feeling better today. Take good care of yourself!

Alright, who asked about age? I dunno if I want to list mine--so far it looks like I'm the oldest in the group. Here's a hint, my oldest child is 15, my youngest is 19 months. I'm 37 years old, and feel a little younger every day.:D

I'm doing well, eating well, went for a walk yesterday (NEED to get my weight equipment set up in the garage). I know when I eat within my calorie limits and move that's a successful day. The 'trick' is to stay the course over the long term. That's when I get good results. I've done this before (60 lbs.), I can do this again. Gotta ace that weekend!!!! Can't lose focus.

I bought two summer shirts yesterday for Italy. My teen daughter tried them on for me--she's my height + 1 inch and wears my goal size. Ah, youth! :D

Have a great day and ace that weekend!

Thanks for everyone's "get well's"!! Can't say I feel any better today though. I'm still home from work...at least now I have all weekend to rest too...no excercising for me until monday! As long as I keep eating well I should be able to slide through this weekend w/no additional gains. Now, I just need to battle the fact that I have no energy to cook anything, nevermind healthy stuff!!
I hope everyone is feeling and doing better than me!!! Have a good day guys! ;)
PS. I am 24, but will be 25 in June-my main goal is to be 30lbs lighter by then!

lol Mary Pat! I'm not far behind you...I'm 34. My kids are 14, 12 and 16 mos. I know...just a small age gap in the 2 youngest. I had the first 2 really young (19 and 21 when I had them). Then I finally met Mr. Wonderful and he has adopted my oldest 2 and we have one of our own. He also had an 8 yo from his first marriage. We won't talk about him...

I had wi last night and I'm up 1 lb. I was really upset about it at first but I have come to accept it now. I did drop 7.4 the week before and it was also my birthday and I splurged a little. And my jeans are a lot looser ( and I just got the darn things!). I just need to get back on track now and be better this week. I will make sure I'm good about my water and I will work out at least every other day. DH spilled the beans that I am getting an elliptical for my bday. So I can do that one day and pilates the next day. :ebike: I REFUSE to quit!! They have a dry erase board at my ww meetings where they put what they are going to talk about for that meeting and it said on there "quitting is not an option." It's not! I can't do that. I need to get healthy. And that's what I'm going to do. I will not give up on myself.

OK now that I've ranted...I will move on. Terra, I have not done Wondsor Pilates yet. I ordered the dvd. I have been doing the ones from the library that I borrowed. I have done pilates for dummies and today I am giong to do perfect pilates. I hope to have my windsor pilates this weekend. Can't wait!!

OK I'm off to work out while the man is napping! Have a great one everyone!!

Hey to Molly and Mary Pat! You're not old! Silly! Besides, you're only the age that you feel inside, and lately I feel like I'm about 50 . . . so you're younger than me on some days!

I think I've gotten Christie's cold. Ick. There was a sneezing, snotty kid at a friend's house the other night. I'm pretty sure that's what it's from. Then last night, we were outside in the cold alot. :?: Who knows, I guess I'll break out the Airborne. I'm 32, BTW. I've got a 5 year old son, Jake, my world, and my husband, Scott, my other world.;)
I've been doing good since we kicked our bootays the other day. Journaling is ABSOLUTELY the key for me. If I don't do it, I don't lose...period. I don't know what it is. Even if I don't write the points down, I still do good. Just the accountability of it, I guess. We went to an art gallery opening down in Bloomington last night. I bought a cool outfit with it in mind. I felt really sexy. Sometimes you have to disregard the weight, focus on the positives, and just shine.:D Go shopping, girls. Buy something that you wouldn't normally wear. Break out of the box!:carrot: Be good today!:p

Sorry to hear that you're sick now too Bombshell. That stinks. Good for you though buying yourself something. I am going to do that once I get down a couple of sizes. That will be my incentive. I love new clothes! Right now I'm in a 16 or 18 depending on the maker. I just want out of the plus sizes! That will be my first milestone, I guess.

Anyway, I hope the rest of us are doing well. After my gain last week I'm really watching what I eat. I made some foolish choices. I was within points but didn't eat good things.

Make good choices and have a great evening!

Christie, I'm so sorry you've still feeling cruddy. Since you're not up to cooking, some canned chicken soup? I hope you feel better real soon.

Bombshell, I'm sorry you're sick too. Hope you're back in the swing of things soon.

Molly, don'tcha love that older/younger gap with your children? The up-side with my tribe is that I have a built in baby sitter, the down-side is that the baby is sooooo spoiled by her older siblings. :p Ah, there are worse things. I love reading your posts. You're always so positive--you really keep me going. Hey, and congratulations on the new eliptical machine. That's fabulous! :hat:

Allensmom, did I say I felt old? Heck, I feel like I'm a 20 year old most days. DH is 6 years older than me, and I'm the youngest of 7 children, so I'm surrounded by people who have a few years on me. Shoot, I'm just now really starting to bloom. The Bible says we're limited to 120 years, and I'm banking on that, so I figure 60 is the new middle-age (reading the news on modern longevity, it's doable!):chin:

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning, and I'll let ya'll know how I'm doing. Hey, thanks so much for just being there and reading this stuff. I really appreciate your help.

Hi all!
Well, I'm feeling a little better. Not totally back to normal, but better. I'm back at work today..Ick! Hopefully back to the gym tomorrow too.
How was everyone's weekend? I didn't do great this weekend, but I didn't gain either. I'm back down to my tracker weight (151lbs) after my gain last weekend. Hopefully once I get back into the swing of things and get my energy back, I can get that scale to start moving down again. One step at a time (or one meal at a time!).
I'm sorry about your cold too bomshell! I feel your pain!
Hope everyone else is staying healthy!! Keep trucking forward all! ;)

Mary Pat, I know what you mean about the age gap. Built in baby sitter is great but the man has s.b.s (spoiled baby syndrome). :p He's as bad as the day is long! lol Lovin the elliptical!!

Christie, gald you're feeling better! Sorry you have to be back at work though (yuck!)

Someone was asking me about the winsor pilates (don't remember who, think it was Libby). I got it today and I really like it. I didn't do it today. I watched it though. I don't like just jumping into those things. I get confused to easily if I din't have some idea what's coming next. :dizzy: Anyway I think it's going to be a good work out! Lots of cardio! Can't wait to do it tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm off for now. Gotta put the man in bed. Have a great night all!!

Hey, Chiarij, 2 pounds! That's fabulous!!! :bravo:

I'm back down to 175, feeling really good about that. I'm going to work hard to make that loss 'stick'. DH and I are going to dinner tonight, and I've already planned where we're going, and what I'm eating. DH knows not to buy me candy.:nono:

How's this for funny? I bought a belly-dancing work-out tape. I don't figure it for a real hard work-out, but thought it'd be fun to learn. Wish me luck!

Mary Pat, good luck on the belly dancing. :belly: Sounds fun!

dh and I went to dinner for V day on Friday and I planned on where to go and how many points I was going to eat for dinner. I kept within except for the cheese biscuit (we went to Red Lobster). Those things are the devil! Soo good. But I only ate one and then put them at the end of the table for the waitress to take. 4 pts and yes it was sooo worth it.

Thanks for the well wishes, the cold's coming to an end, I think. I took Nyquil last night and am having a hard time getting going this morning...kinda groggyish. Won't be long now. An old friend came over with her kids last night for dinner. She's lost 30lbs. because she's getting a divorce (not from depression ...getting back in the game.:)) I'm so happy for her. Another friend is doing WW in a diligent way and has lost 15lbs. in about 1-1/2 months. ME TOO! ME TOO! OOOOH! OOOOH! ME TOO! I think I might be feeling a tinge of competitiveness coming on. That's what I need, really. I can be very competitive if I let myself. My cousin, the one with the treadmill that I use, has just built a workout room for a humongous piece of equipment. It's a weight station type thing that two people can use at one time. They just live 2 miles away, and I can theoretically use it whenever I want to...hmmm. Congrats on the two pounds, ChiariJ! Great job :carrot: ! Belly dancing SOUNDS easy, but I bet it busts the buns!:) Oh, and Mamabear, Red Lobster cheese biscuits are DEFINATELY worth 4 points! Have a good one all! Hello Everyone:wave: I got on the scales this morning and I'm down another two pounds:cb: I have been trying to lose weight for 7 months now, with no budge on the scales and have been sitting on 194 pounds the whole time until this month. I have lost a total of 4 pounds and I know it doesn't seem like much, but after all of my hard work these past months and not seeing anything, this is major for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of the changes I have seen in my size over the last months but there is something about actually seeing a change in the scales that is so encouraging for me. I do have a lot more muscle than before, so that is a good thing also. I'll just keep on working:dust: and sooner or later I'm bound to end up where I want to be. Hopefully, joining this challenge will also give me the boost I need.

Oh...I also heard somewhere (can't remember if I read it or if someone at the gym told me) that if you aren't seeing the results you want to change up the cardio....I usually stay on the elliptical to burn 300-400 calories after my hour workout with weights but I'm going to start using a treadmill and maybe a bicycle to see if that changes things up a bit. I hope it works, it seems like I've tried everything else.:?:

Hello All! Welcome Healthy2b & Meg! Glad you are joining our challenge!

I finally feel better....but I'm still really tired all the time. I haven't mustered up enough energy to make it back to the gym yet. I'll start again next week. I think I needed a full week recovery from this stinkin cold! :sp:
How was everyone's Valentine's day?? I celebrated on Sunday...made dinner at home w/my bf. We had shrimp cocktail, steak & lobster....mmmm, it was good! I tried to make it as healthy as I could. We had baked potato (which I can have) and broccolli as sides. I only cheated with using a little bit of sour cream for my potato and of course I had cocktail sauce with my shrimp! I even cut back and used unsalted butter (b/c I'm trying to keep my salt intake low) for our lobster. My bf said he actually liked the unsalted better...so that's great! I'm going to buy that from now on!
I'm a little disappointed in how long it's taking me to get myself back on track after the bad weekend I had a few weeks back and then the cold I got directly after...sigh...I'll start fresh next week. I am going skiing again this weekend-that will be a great workout again, I'm sure!
Have a good evening guys! off to watch American Idol! ;)

I am disappointed in myself today... Some of my friends called and we had lunch together and I ate entirely too much:barf: and of course the wrong things. At least I didn't eat the rolls or potatoes. I stuck with greenbeans and squash but had fried:yikes: catfish, should have gone with the grilled. This was all after my skinny friend (she had lap band surgery this summer and has dwindled down to nothing) ordered cheese sticks and fried mushrooms for everyone as an appetizer. I ate so much I just want to go take a nap and skip my workout today. I'm going to have to do some fast talking to myself to get to the gym today. I just need to think about all those calories and I need to go try to work some of them off. At least I said no the the dessert!!!:D

There hasn't been any new posts for days...where is everybody??:chin:
Since I've been feeling better from the cold I had, I haven't been following the diet at all! I've been eating bad stuff, not eating 5x a day like I'm supposed to, haven't been drinking the water that I should be, haven't been able to get back into excercising, and.....i've been drinking...:nono:
I've decided enough is enough...I'm leaving for Switzerland in about 3 weeks. I am going to AT LEAST lose another 5lbs before then (I would like it to be 10, but I will be happy with 5) I haven't had any gain, I'm still at 151lbs-Thank goodness for that!:cp:
It's time to step up my excercise. I did my Turbo Jam yesterday to get myself back into the groove. I love my Turbo Jam, it does the trick every time! I don't know how I let myself fall out of it...it's so fun! :carrot:
Anyway, I need to make myself get out of bed this week to get to the gym. I feel alot more energetic though, so that will be key. I've already started making some meals for this week, so I can't blame it on laziness either. Just needed to give myself a swift kick in the butt to get myself going again! Hope everyone else is keeping themselves on track! :goodluck:

I have a question.....does this challenge end the beginning of May or the end of May? I had such a bad weekend, I probably gained the four pounds I lost back so I'm not getting on a scale for a week so I don't get depressed.:( I think it's the weather here....we have been spoiled by beautiful sunny days in the high sixty- low seventy range and all of a sudden winter finally got here and its been cold and rainy/icy and it makes me just sit in the house and want to eat. I need the sun to come back!!!!:flow2: I even missed two workouts last week and that is not like me.

I would like to join your challenge and see if I can make it happen. I just had a baby six months ago and need to get in shape in order to keep up with her. She is starting to move around alot now.

What are the general guidelines for the challenge. Is there a specific day of the week to post how much you've lost?

We have a great group and I believe that we are aiming for the end of May (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I have been ggod about working out and my water but have fallen off on my fruits and veggies. I can't seem to keep it all together at the same time. I'd be golden if I could do that! Welcome Ushcim! Our WI day is Sunday and the ending date of the challenge is May 29th. (you were right Mamabear!) Glad to have you!
I've started this week off very good. I haven't eaten anything bad, I made a bunch of meals last night so that I don't have to worry about cooking during the week, and I even got myself up this morning at 5:30am to go to the gym! I did the 20min workout of TJ last night, tonight I'm doing the 20min plus Ab Jam. AND I'm getting up again tomorrow to do 45min at the gym.
I want to see that ticker move this week! I'll only have 2 wks left until Switzerland after this week...I need to kick it into HIGH gear!:ebike:

Hi all! I just joined last week and then had computer problems so this is only like my 3rd post. I would love to join as well. My goal overall is 45 lbs by 24 June. We leave for Holiday World, Fort Hood Tx, and possibly Fort Smith, Ar/Poteau, Ok on the 26th and I want to be in a body that I am happy in and my beloved can be proud of. I too have a 6 month old, and I had gotten down to 160 about a month after she was born. But I am one of those who self medicates from stress and boredom, and my drugs are food and caffiene :(

For the 29 May challenge, I would like to lose b/t 25-30 lbs.

I look forward to getting to know all of you....

Good Morning!
Well, I'm officially frustrated!!! I haven't lost anything in the past week. And I've been GOOD!!! AGGGHHH!!! It's frustrating, because when I *first* lost serious weight (60 lbs.) I lost 2-3 lbs. a week every week without exercise like clockwork. Now, five years later, it's like pulling teeth, and I'm much more physically active now. I walk or bike five days a week. I probably really need to get my weight equipment out, but it's so hard to make time to lift weights. I'd have to get up early and everything!:dz:

Ok, I'm done whining. How about my avatar? My daughters helped me with that one and I have to admit, I'm cuter as a cartoon! :p

Ooh, Christie! Switzerland! Tell us all about your plans! We're going to Italy in June, and watching all the olympic coverage has me so excited.

Have a great day everyone!

Healthy2b,
It ends May 29, just in time for summer.:carrot:

Weeeellllllll, my boyfriend's father actually just moved over there for his job. He makes the big $$$ and travels alot to places like Japan, Switzerland, France, etc. etc. Sooooooo, he has acrued LOTS of Delta sky miles because of it! His Dad booked our tickets, we're staying w/his him & his wife in their 3 bedroom condo in Baden, Switzerland (which is about 10-20min outside of Zurich I guess), AND he's booked 2 nights at a ski resort so that we can ski the Alps....pretty excited about it even though I've only ski'd once in my life!! LOL! I don't really know too much about Switzerland really, but my BF's step-mom is getting a bunch of info for us so that we can take day trips.
I've never been to Europe, so I can't wait! The whole trip was kind of a spur of the moment thing, b/c we just found out his dad was moving right around Thanksgiving. They've only been living there for about 2 months or so. His dad works alot, so we're having my bf's step-mom hang out w/us so that she can explore too. 18 days to go.......

RunningMyRace-Italy is right next door to Switzerland, I wish we had enough time while we are over there to visit Italy too!! I'm sure you're gonna have a great time!! Have you ever been to Europe before?

MamaBear-I'm Irish too! I always say I'm mostly Irish, b/c I drink like a fish! Really, I'm probably only 25% or something! LOL! I would LOVE to go to Ireland!!! I'm hooked on traveling, so maybe someday!

Hi Everyone. Can I join you all?
I need some support. I have been gaining 1 or 2 pounds a month for the last year. I joined the health club and have not been there since January. I don't like it much - no one to work out with. I have a $700 tread mill and some"Slim In Six" videos that I could do. So I am starting now. Here are my goals to start:
1. 64 oz of water
2. No pop for awhile
3. Exercise for 30 min 6 days a week.
4. Smaller portions

I use to go to WW but not sure if I will go back. I like it and it worked for me though.

If you have any ideas let me know. I am trying to lose about 28 pounds.:dizzy:

If I had you all to check in with, maybe I could stay motivated. I am getting older (47) and my metabolism is not what it use to be. :?:

Good luck -- you have gotten me inspired!

Hello to everyone!

Christie22ra, your trip sounds like alot of fun! How fabulous to be able to go to Switzerland and not deal with airfare or hotel bills. I'm sure it'll be a trip to remember, and the some of the best skiing in the world. DH and my trip to Italy are my first trip abroad except a brief drive into Canada. I'm so totally excited!!! For me, it's one of those things you dream about, but don't think you'll be able to do. Living a dream....:beach:

Caterra240, welcome! I'm glad to see you here! I hear you about your metabolism slowing down. I'm living that too, right now. I can lose, it just takes longer. Hang out here with us, we can do this thing!

Well, I'm still waiting on another change on the scale, but I am fitting into some jeans I haven't worn in a long time, so I know I've made some progress.
My mom noticed a change, so I MUST look a little different.

Hey, I was just thinking of a saying my pastor uses, "average is the best of the worst and the worst of the best". I hate the idea of average on principle, and I don't buy into the prevailing media stories that tell us that most people can't lose weight and those who do can't keep it off long-term.
Who are *they* to say what *we* can do, and how is it helpful to repeat the same statistics from who-knows-where for the bajillionth time to discourage us? I say it's a bunch of bunk! That's right! :soap:

GO US! Ya'll have a good tomorrow, I'm going to bed.

I had WI this am and I am down another 1.4 for a total of 10.2!! Woo Hooo. :carrot: I am noticing that things are fitting differently now and that's a great thing!

Well I'm off for now, got a ton of running to do! Make it a great day everyone.

We've moved, and there's no bathtub in the master bath. It has a nice big shower, but I sure miss my evening soaks. We're hoping to build our own design soon (DH is a carpenter) and I can't wait to get my tub back.

Hope everyone's doing well, tell us how you're doing.

Great job beaner on the loss!!

My goal for March is -6lb loss for the month. Continue to exercise at least 20 miles per week using various WATP Videos and continue fighting to complete Billy Blank's "Basic Training with Billy Bands".

I would also like to add to the growing collection of workout videos, Turbo Jam & WATP -- 5 miles.:p

Chiarij, Feb is a short month. 7 in a month is good! I did 10 in 5 weeks. :cheer: Great job!

My goal for March is to lose 10 lbs. I am going to work out in some fashion at least 5 days a week. I am just starting so I do 3 days a week on the elliptical and 2 days doing floor exercises. I will try to work up to 5 days a week on the elliptical after a couple of weeks.

Lent starts today and I am giving up popcorn. That has been one of my big weaknesses lately. I can't really give up too much else since I have been on WW so I figure that is a compromise for me. My kids suggested that I give up my coffee. Do they realize what that would do to them?? LOL I NEED my coffee in the morning. :coffee: That's not optional.

Haven't heard much from anyone else. Are we all still here??

Have a great day everyone!

Looks like everyone's doing really great this week, losses all around. I'm happy to see everyone doing so well. I lost 2 pounds this week. I was just updating my ticker and realized I'm exactly 1/3rd of the way to goal! Woohoo!!! :cloud9:

Chiarij, I think you did really well with 7 pounds in February. Any loss is a good loss in my book. Heck, you may have built a pound of muscle in February and that counter-acted the other pound of fat loss you were looking for (hey, it could happen).

Mamabear, you couldn't give up coffee for Lent, it's good for you, in moderation. Staves off Parkinson's I think? Now you have me thinking about giving up something, chocolate maybe? :chin: Ooh, now that's a sacrifice.

I've gotta get moving, I have a bunch of laundry to conquer today :pyeah:p . I will go on a bike ride today, it's too beautiful to stay inside. I might even ride up to the grocery store. DH got in a fender-bender this weekend so he has my car.

Have a good one!

Great Job everyone with your losses!! We all did great in the month of February!! Cheers!
Chiarij- 7lbs is great! Good for you! I'm not even sure what I've lost this month, but I know that I lost 11lbs since January 2nd! I'll have to keep track this month!
Mamabear- You're right, I think we might have lost a couple people...:?: Haven't heard from Allensmom or Bombshell in quite awhile. And nothing from some of the newbies either! What's going on??
RunningMyRace- Good Job on your losses too! Being able to change the ticker is the BEST!

My March Goals

Drink more water! AT LEAST 1 waterbottle-34oz (try to make it to 2!!)
Stick with excercising every day during the work week! (or 5x a week)
Lose 9lbs this month! Make it to 140lbs by March 31st!
Stop being lazy! Stay motivated!

I've been doing well on my water intake this week, but my excercise has been slacking....I didn't make it to the gym at all this week, I just couldn't get my butt out of bed, but I did do my Turbo Jam every night except for Wednesday. Still pretty good, but not as good as it could be.
My eating has been Ok..not too much cheating, but I haven't really been eating 5x a day like I should be. I'm just not excited about what I'm going to be eating. Next week will be better, I'm going grocery shopping this weekend, so I'll have healthy snacks in the house again.

First Molly, congratulations on your great loss!!!! You've done fabulous! I'm very happy for you.:cp:

Now for the ugly bit. Yesterday I had a so-so day. Wasn't totally on-program food-wise, but I wasn't awful. Well, this morning I woke up with a raging urinary tract infection! :( I ran straight to the grocery store for the cranberry juice, then off to a friend's wedding. Well, long story short, I've been feeling sorry for myself and binge-eating most of the afternoon. :o Why? I dunno. I'm really aggravated with myself. I'm posting this because I don't want to fall off the wagon. I need a kick in the butt, and someone tomorrow to ask me if I'm back on track.

Sorry to be such a downer when all is going so well. I've just gotta turn myself around. Thanks for listening.

Mary Pat!! :nono: :rollpin: Here I am for your kick in the pants! Put down the  food and go get some veggies and fruit!! I'm putting a ladder out for you to climb back up on the wagon.

Now, that being said, one day of being bad is not the end of the world. I was really bad today too. :o I ate for crap and burned a LOT of flex points. I am still working on the water and won't be treating myself to a snack tonight. :( We will get back on track tomorrow!! I'll check back with you tomorrow, k?

Molly,
I'm doing much better, thanks for the kick and all the encouraging words! :thanks: I know one bad day isn't the end of the world, but I tend to use a stumble as an excuse to give up. And you know I CAN'T give up. I truly believe that's the principle key to successful weight loss, stickability.

Luv long hair and Jenny, welcome here! :welcome3: I'm glad to have more people working towards similar goals. Please make yourself at home. We can do this!

Well, as of yesterday all four of my children are running temperatures and losing their voices--looks like the flu that's been going around. So, I've been busy taking care of them, which has been good to keep me busy. I'm making a big pot of chicken soup for lunch today, great for getting healthy and calorie friendly for me!

:welcome: Jenny and chicky! It's great to have you with us!

Mary Pat, I know what you mean about stumbling and giving up. I did that a hundred times! I would do good for a few days and then I would have one bad day and that would be it. I would start telling myself that I would start again "tomorrow." But amazingly enough tomorrow never came. I refuse to give up this time. I have seen a significant loss this time and I know I can do this. And you can too. You only have 28 measly pounds to go! Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? Just keep swimming!! I love that movie!

I hope the kids are feeling better soon. There's nothing worse than a sick kid...except for 4 of them that is. ;) I don't know where you are but here in OH the weather has been so weird. It is cold and snowy one day and 50 the next day. Ricky has been sick 3 times in the last couple of months. And he's not a sickly kid. But hopefully you can get them over it quickly!

Hope everyone else is having a great day and making good choices!

Hello All! Welcome Luv, Jenny, & Chicky!!
Just checking in!! How'd everyone do yesterday on WI day? No loss here, but I lost 2lbs last week, so....
I hear ya on the days that you stumble...I was the same way, I'd always give up so quickly. And then tell myself that I'd start again tomorrow. I think this time, I've learned that since I've come this far, even if I stumble a day here n there, I need to just keep trucking along. It helps alot that I feel guilty when I eat something bad, so I usually go excercise right away and make up for it!
This week I'm feeling more energetic than last week, so hopefully I can kick my excercise routine into high gear again! Only 7 days til Switzerland!! We'll be gone for 10 days and I don't know if I'll be able to do much excercising while we are there (besides the skiing of course!) I wanna make this week count!!
Keep up the good work guys! Don't give up even if you stumble!! Finding Nemo is a great reference!! I love that movie too!! I'll check back in again before my trip! Have a great day everyone!! ;)
