Hi everyone. Well, I have been so busy, haven't had time to get on the computer to you. My daughter and her family came on Friday, and then my granddaughter got sick. We did attempt to go to the mountains, drove 2 1/2 hours from here and she was to sick to get out of the car. She was running a fever and had a terrible cough - SO, we turned around and drove 2 1/2 hours back home. The scenery was fantastic and the mountain lakes are such a beautiful shade. This, plus the additional standing and visiting etc., really has done a number on my back. Even though my treatment is working, the muscles are still so weak. My son was also home, and then on Sunday, my Brother and his wife came for a visit as well. Everyone left on Sunday, as my daughter just wanted to take the baby home. Today, we had company for lunch, and they brought along some visitors from Denmark who will be staying with us until Wednesday, when, again, I will have more company for either lunch or supper or both. It is enough to make ones head spin:dizzy:

The weather has been fantastic here since Saturday. At last the rain is gone and the sun has come. We did have a real thunderstorm last night that lasted for about 1/2 hours. Just enough to put a little bit of a damper on the Canada Day festivites down at the beach. However, it cleared off, but my back was to stiff for me to go down to the beach. Watched the fireworks from my deck instead. It is not a humid climate I live in. It is hot and dry. The fellow from Denmark says he finds this a lot hotter than the same temperature in Denmark, where it is humid. To me, the humidity almost kills me. I find it hard to breath.

Anyway, I just want to wish my American friends a great 4thof July. Have fun.

I just got home and have no one to greet me but then I go to the message board and get a smile.I'ma hurtin from the long drive. When I get through,it will be 9 hours total driving but I listened to a great book on tape. I was good again but I haven't gotten on the scale yet. Now I kni=ow I can pass up rich desserts just because they are there. Not that I wouldn't have a bit if I really liked it. Tomorrow is another day with my daughter having a cookout but I am going to have a hamburger or hot dog-not both. And lots of salad. and maybe some chips. But then dinner will be very light. Oh well enough about food. I'm just glad to sleep in my bed for one day. Have a great night everyone. Mima gonna go put golf balls under my feet.

Happy 4th you all.
I couldn't even get to the last posting on this site last nite. Can't wait til my AOL expires. I don't have this problem at work with Road Runner.
I was very careful with food and hit the fiber big time for two days and feel some relief.
How come I feel so good, and then blow it with a few days of sugar and junk??????
Is anyone still doing 5-HTP? I tried to go off and got migraines. I think there is a connection. I am going to stick to this for a while.

Hi everyone...I'm not dead...just wish I was some days!!! Haven't been feeling too good lately. I have tomorrow, Friday, Sat, Sun. & Monday off from babysitting (although I have to go to Nashville to the Dr. Mon. and to the Neurologist here on Fri. plus, hubby will be home tomorrow through Sun.!!!) But I'm hoping to get some rest, anyway. Hubby went and rented Castaway and Unbreakable for me tonight...just got through watching Castaway, it was good! Gonna watch Unbreakable tomorrow night and then rent Oh, Brother Where Art Thou to watch Thur. night. Gonna try to just lay around for a few days. Hope you all have a great 4th!!! Check out my 2 new Friendship Pages. I hope to get a lot of the old ones back on in the next few months but haven't really felt like doing any of it lately! Sitting here typing hurts!

http://www.design-max.net/HappyJuly4th.html
http://www.design-max.net/SweetJuly4th.html

Oh...about making parts of your message a color AND something else...if you are typing it in the box it will only let you do one thing at a time but...if you want to type the commands in yourself you can make it ALL things at once...for example, THIS IS CRIMSON, CENTURY GOTHIC, HUGE, BOLD, ITALICIZED AND UNDERLINED ALL AT ONCE BECAUSE I TYPED THE COMMANDS FOR EACH BEFORE AND AFTER THIS SECTION!

If you want something both large and red you would type SIZE=3 inclosed in brackets [] and then type COLOR=red inclosed in brackets[] before the word and then type /SIZE and /COLOR between brackets to end each command. Type SIZE= and your number for size, COLOR= and the name of the color for your color, FONT=and the name of your font for lettering, B for bold I for italics and U for underlined...be sure to enclose each one in brackets[] and be sure to END each one with the same exact command with a forward slash in front of it /. Sounds like a lot of work but if you know the commands it just takes a few seconds. All I can tell you is try it out...if it doesn't work you can always delete you message and start all over until you get it right! ;)

HAPPY 4th everybody!!!!

Geee Meme....I thought you would be impressed with my one icon:dizzy: so far and now you are talking about new fonts!!!!!!

Getting ready for a inflatable pool party on Saturday. Here I am the one with Fibro and I am still the one to coordinate, cook and a clean for a get together.
Its just not fair.
And it is going to rain.

Mima...Did you stick to your diet today? I ate only salad for dinner and a veggie burger at the mall. I found great great bargains shopping today and it wasn't crowded. Not very patriotic, but I enjoy my bargain hunting.

Happy...A 5 hour drive with a sick little one. Oh that doesn't sound like fun. And you ARE the hostess with the mostess. How do you do it?

Well, at last all my company has departed. It is hard to get beds ready, and I could have gone broke that past week, feeding this horde of people. My goodness. I survived just fine. My back was really giving me trouble Sunday and Monday, and started to settle down yesterday. The last Chiro treatment I had 2 weeks ago is still holding. It feels really good today. I am sleeping like a baby (no Elavil - stopped taking it 2 weeks ago) and I am not taking stuff for my Hiatal hernia either. I am just functioning as me, and let me tell you it feels wonderful. I did have to take 222's yesterday (2 of them) for a headache, but that is it. I hope this continues to hold, as I am not due back at the chiro until 09 July. He is on holidays.

My little granddaughter is feeling a lot better now (of course, she has gone home). She will be back to stay with grandma and grandpa on the 19July for a couple of days.

It is really hot here (92) or so. It is a really dry heat, and I burn so easy. I am pretty fair skinned - never tan.

I hope that you are all feeling good and are having a great time today.

Mima it is nice to come on the computer and know that someone out there is waiting to hear from you as well.

Meme, I tried that font thing, but I don't know what I did wrong.

THIS IS CRIMSON, CENTURY GOTHIC

Maybe you will be able to tell me what I did wrong. I thought I was following instuctions, but apparently not.

hey, it worked. Can you use that on any site or in e-mail as well, or just here? Thanks Meme.

Hello Joanne and Candice.

Ally, good luck on your party this weekend. You get to do it, because you probably do a darn good job and they know the food will be great .

Hurting...can't sleep...

No...you can't just use it anywhere. I don't know about other threads. If the person you are e-mailing can receive html you can send your mail in different colors, fonts, etc. but not using the commands you use in here...you have to use html commands and they are different. For example, instead of using the []brackets, they use the greater and lesser symbols <>. The commands used in here are just word processor signs. The next time you pull up a page on the internet that has links on it, go up to the top and click "view" in your task bar then choose "source" from the drop down menu and it will show you all the symbols it took to make the page look like it does with the backgrounds, pictures, colors and links. That is HTML. That is what I use to make all my pages. What they use in here is what your computer uses when you type a letter in your word processor or word pad.

Ally...I AM impressed!!!

Never pass up an opportunity to learn something new!!!

There is an easier way to do this color size thing...........

Bold, Color, Font and Size all in one line.

This is how I do it, so I dont have to remember what to type in front of and behind each line.

Choose the Bold button and type what you want in the pop-up box. Click ok.

You should see your text in the reply box. (It will have a bracket, forward slash, the letter B and another bracket behind it.)

Next, to color the same line. Highlight the line of text, with the b's in front and behind it. (Do this by clicking at the end of the text and then dragging your mouse over it.) Right click on the text and choose cut. Your text will disappear.

Now, click on the color button. When the pop-up appears, right click in the box and click on paste. Then click ok. You will now have colored, bold text.

You can follow this for all the features. Type, cut, choose feature, paste, click ok, cut, choose another feature, paste, click ok, etc.

Use the preview feature to check your success. Hope this helps.

That sounds to me like a lot of trouble!!! Of course, I guess I've typed in those commands for so long I could almost do it in my sleep :D

Speaking of sleelp...I didn't sleep over 3 hrs. all night last night and I feel like I've been run over by a Mac truck!!! Daughter told me this morning that they are going to the space exibition in Huntsville...they're picking up the kids at 1:30...then I only have to give one piano lesson at 6 and I'm done with kids until NEXT TUESDAY!!!!!!!

OK Meme. Point taken.:D
However, I still have to look at something ten times and think about it for a few days before my brain gets in gear.
Ya know, I used to be smart.
I think.

Happy....hope all this hostessing doesn't catch up with you. I am dying today after my shopping expedition yesterday. All day I ached and ached. And then after dinner, I was fine. This stuff is so hard to understand and predict.

I haven't cheated once:devil: today.

Hello Everyone- It is sure nice to read all your messages.
Hello Happy Canuk- You surely are the hostess with the mostess. I could not do it. I love company for short periods.
Candicej your garden is still going great guns. I really do injoy your images. I haven't got the hang of the colors yet!
I went to WW today and I'm only 6 lbs over goal. I'll have to work hard to get that off. I had a good day today. I still have 7 pts. left. I will only use 2..
Hope you all have a good night... Joanne:wave:

Hope you are all doing well today.
I am just plain tired. Need a few days to catch up. Not as young as I used to be - this entertaining stuff gets harder and harder, because, of course, I no longer cook for lots of people.

Meme - feel better. Maybe after that nice LONG weekend you will start to feel better again.

Ally, it is a strange thing that we all share. No rhyme or reason to it - it just is. No wonder Drs. have a hard time trying to prescribe meds for us (lol)

Candice - beautiful flowers. Keep up the good work.

Mima - missed you today. Hope you're doing ok.

Joanne - Nice to hear from you. 6 pounds is not so bad if you catch it now and not let it run away with you. Good for you. Day one is done.

It's so great to be home to stay-for 2 and a half weeks anyways. I'm going to Fort Myers for 8 days-on the 23rd. About that food program I'm on-well on july 4th I was not good and then on the 5th we all had our last get together til October-the people I work with and who could turn down a poppover etc. It's Friday and I was good today and I have to weigh in Monday but I will not get on the scale yet. It's too bad because last week I lost a lb.and I probably gained 2 this week. Well. I'm home now and in control of what I can eat.I also do not have food in the house. It was so nice to read all the posts.Time to retrieve the phone message about a tutoring job. I will post tomorrow am. Mima

WHEW! WHAT A DAY!!!

I thought I was going to have a weekend of rest but guess that can never happen here! Today I got up, cleaned up the house a little, got ready and went to town. Ran errands and got my groceries, came home and put them all away, cleaned on the basement for 2 1/2 hrs., came up and made potato salad, chicken salad and banana pudding for tomorrow, washed my hair and did my nails. Tomorrow I have to go to a family reunion, Sunday I have a decoration where my Dad is buried and Monday I have to go to Nashville to the Dr. Some long weekend, huh??? It never really ends for me. And let me tell you girls, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up without a break. I mean a real honest to goodness BREAK. Not just a few days off from babysitting so I can do other stuff kind of break. People who don't have this thing we do don't really understand you when you say I feel bad, or I can't do that. They just look at you like they think you are exagerating your condition or something.

So how are all of you doing? As I said, I have to go to the Rheumatologist in Nashville Mon. and if he doesn't come up with something different to help me I'm going to do something radical for myself! I am going to do some experimenting with "cleansing", "food elimination", and yoga type exercises. Some very strict cleansing type dieting and R&R...not as much about weight loss (though I'd be lying if I said I didn't want that, too!) but more about healing. I know certain foods make me feel worse and I know facts like: too much NutriSweet, yogurt, milk products, MSG and choc. increases my chances of getting a migraine, I hurt worse when I eat spicy foods, junk and too much sugar or white flour, this stuff gets worse when I'm stressed out, I need frequent rest periods. There is a connection between everything we do and how our bodies feel. We are not NORMAL (whatever the heck that is!) I'm going to start keeping a journal and writing down every single thing I eat and every activity and how my body responds. Then I'm going to try as best I can to eliminate things from my life that cause me pain. (Hmmm...look out Mom!) Anybody else want to go on this QUEST with me??? Might be interesting if we all did this and compared notes on what makes us feel worse (or better as the case may be!) I'm going to start on Monday... My Dr. app. is at 12 so...if he gives me no hope this time, the minute I walk out of that office I'm going to start my "process of elimination!" Let me know!

MY SKIN EVEN HURTS!!!

Still cleaning the garage it was a mess and is almost done! I am also organizing all my garden stuff and the peg boards. Be glad when it is done..then you all can come eat off my garage floor! Now if I could just get my house done..the inside that is! At least the weather has been cool and nice to be outside.

I lost another .5 pound and only want to lose 3.5 more at the most I found and old pair of my sons jeans size 34 and they are too big for me! I also found a size 28 skirt I wore years ago and it looks hudge... I could fit several of me in there now!

Meme...What a fine looking bunch of Hunks!:D But I don't know some of their names?????? Does that mean Perice is # 4???????????? He is sitll # 1 in my book!

I learned years ago that caffine, MSG, Sugar, artifical sweetners, tomatoes(which I love and refuse to give up cause they are so good for you)LOL and other stuff makes me feel bad! We all know that Ally knows too!
Ally ..my mind does not work either..Meme's body may be in bad shape but her mind is in tact!

Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair
and wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, a smile.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 legs, the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
And then I knew, he couldn't hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears, the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

Good Morning- Mima- My hubby is a retired teacher of 30 yrs. My daughter is a second grade teacher of 18 yrs.She loves her job, even with all the stress of the Florida school system. She is currently dezigning a new reading program for her county. Fort Myers is south of Tarpon Springs. My sister likes to go there for vacations. I like the northern part of the state in the panhandle. It is more isolated and not as busy. St George Island is beautiful. Very quiet. Very restful.
Candice that's a nice poem and so true.

Mima - Isn't it funny how we always sleep better at home? That must be a nice break for you, to go do the marking of the papers. Meet old friends and make new ones - that is always nice. I wouldn't worry about gaining a pound or two. If you enjoyed yourself, and know that you will have it under control again, it is no big deal.

Joanne - You sound nice and cheerful. Hope you are feeling good and sticking to your diet(lol). I, myself, am trying to do just that. Hope something sticks besides the fat!

Candice - good for you. I am so proud of you for doing this. That is so great, and what great determination. Love your pics by the way.

Ally - If you have IBS watch out for bran. I find it the worst thing to get it activated. Other than that, I guess you are plugging away like I am. Have a good time at your get together today.

Now MEME - Meme,Meme,Meme! There is a simple word in the English language. Although, not big, it is mighty. It is simply NO.

Do you babysit because you want to, or because your kids can find nobody else? Do yourself a favor and let it go. They get on with the rest of your life. If your family knows that you are in such pain and keep asking you to do all these things for them, then they need a reality check. If you do it because you want to, then YOU need a reality check. Hey, aren't I good? I should have been a phyc., as I am just looney enough(lol) Seriously though, Meme, if you want to feel good, you need a long break, from the kids and all the other stresses in your life (mom). I don't for the life of me know how you do what you do, to begin with - and keep it up. It surely will have a terrible affect in the long run. Now, that is enough from Mother Anne. I just want you to feel better, Meme, that is all.

Go to The use of Uricosuric drugs in FM(Article for Physicians)

There is some interesting info regarding guaif. If you have time, and care to take a look, I think there is good info on the site. The lady that has the site is a member of Clouds.

Meme....I don't know why, but when I hit the second page of your Hunk site, my computer shut down. I am scared to go back and see what is there.
Maybe it got all hot and bothered from page 1.
I had people over today to my inflatable pool. We are all aging too fast. Everyone gone and still sober at 6pm.
I am going to take the dog for a walk.
Happy....I guess I don't have IBS. I made baked beans today and someone else brought a texas bean dip which was delicious. Hopefully, this means the evils in the light beer I drank will be gone in the morning.

Ahh...Ricky Martin...I just got an e-mail from the woman who cast her vote for him...she couldn't believe he only got one vote either! And about Pierce...no...I "think" (not sure...despite what Candice says...brain is not all there!!!) the first three got the same amount then it started going down. If they got the same amount of votes they are not in any certain order...it was so hard for me to do 60 of them...I tried to be "impartial" for the ones that got equal votes. Ally...I don't know what happened to your computer, sorry it crashed on you at my site...I just went there and it worked just fine for me. I hope it was just coincidental! And...if you don't know who one is just place your cursor arrow over the picture and the name will pop up. There were a couple that I didin't know either.

You all know why I keep the kids. You know what happened with Ross...I just can't have them put out there in the "system" of preschools. There is too much bad stuff going on. I'd worry myself sick about them...especially the 2 year old. Besides...she doesn't do too well with strangers. She is a clinger if you know what I mean.

Well...the reunion is over (thank goodness there is only ONE of those a year...don't think I could take more!) Why do the same people ask you the same dumb questions every single reunion year after year after year. I just want to shout at them...I TOLD YOU THAT THE LAST 5 YEARS...DON'T YOU REMEMBER! Just glad I don't have to go to any reunions with MY family! At least I can tell myself that none of these people are my "blood" relatives!!!

Mima...can't drink milk...gives me migraines.

Candice...loved the poem and the pretty flowers.

Got a decoration tomorrow and a trip to Nashville Mon...need to go to bed and get some rest. I crashed on the couch about 6:30 and didn't get up until 9 so I probably won't be able to go to sleep now!

I like Pierce...not rocked by Ricky though. If I had been doing them in the order I like them best Steven Segal would have been first then Don Johnson, Kevin Costner, Jon Claude Van Damme, Sean Connery, Mel Gibson, Tom Selleck and Pierce. Clint Eastwood...about 10 years ago, David Hasselhoff, Harrison Ford, Lee Horsely and Clint Black would be my next choices along with Arnold S. and Sly Stallone. I'm not as crazy about Tom Cruise as most women...give me the more mature men!!! And I like a lot of muscle...not just a pretty face! (I showed my hubby those two pages and he thinks I'm stark raving mad! Seems like a good idea.A little whining-when I first came down with fibro in my 40's ,I was getting a divorce, working full time, going to school and carrying heavy equipment-dr. said that precipitated it-I know I already had it -even had growing pains as a child and was taken to the drs.-anyhow I could hardly walk and it took 2 years to get it under control-my pain now is nothing like that.I did nothing but work and take care of my 3 children. When I was a child I was physically abused-that would be an interesting poll-it used to remind me of that.So I have learned that a balanced life is important.I am getting osteo but not too bad.My mother had severe rheumatid and that was BAD. I'm sure I have the predisposition for all of this. I wonder about my daughter!
On a lighter side-my wonderful Japanese friends invited me to dinner last night.Japanese dumplings and Japanese pizza.I always mess up my weigh in which is today. But yesterday-I was down another pound. Well-here goes my taking care of my body week. Have a great day everyone.Mima

Hope you all had a wonderful day. It is about 90 here and it is hot, but it feels soooo good. No humidity, however, it does look like a storm might be brewing. The is Tornado weather and I hope I never see one, but they certainly are around.

I am tired today. Went to the Chiro this morning and my back is feeling better. I can't believe that since I started these treatments at how much better I am sleeping. Haven't had an Elavil for 21/2 weeks or longer. Also, stopped taking the meds for the hiatal hernia. Dr. said I could try it and see how it goes, and it seems to be fine.

After I finished with the Chiro, had to run into the city on my way home and pay some bills and get a few groceries. You will all be pleased to know that I AM trying to be good. It is just that all this food gets in my way:lol:

Mima - I think physical or verbal abuse could cause enough stress when you are young to throw your body into this hellish place. I can't say I was ever abused however. I also never had FM as a child, and many do.

Joanne, I also have O/A in my back, hip and knees. My knees were the last to be hit. Wish they could replace my back!

Meme - The Hunks - I really like Mel Gibson as well as quite a few of the other fellows. Good work bringing them to us. I will, however, keep my hubby.

Well ladies, have a nice evening.

Whoever Meme is.....she's very gifted and I love the fact that she has religious links options on there as well. It's time for me to update my webpage. I'm definitely going to use some of her graphics and put a link to her page on my page. "

Good Morning All You Good People- Another day and I wonder what is in store for me today. Yesterday I recieved another sign of getting older. I have been bothered with my eyesight for sometime ,so in May I got new glasses. Still having a problem I went to another OD and had an really good exam. Result Cataracts in both eyes. The thing is they are in the inbetween stage and not bad enough for surgery yet. So one more thing to put up with. I guess I just joined the masses.
I have been keepng pretty much to my diet. I hid the nuts in my husbands office. He is yelling to lets go shop now so I have to cut this short.
Back Later....Joanne

Candice...thanks for the advertising...how much do I owe you??? Don't know about being gifted, though. I just put together a Hot Wheel race track for the kids and it took me over an hour :o Guess I'm just not mechanically minded!!! But...keep in mind that I had lots of help from a 2 yr. old and a 4 yr. old...the 2 yr. old especially liked "helping" with the stickers!!! :D Pretty yard and flowers...how in the world do you keep it all up at your age??? :dizzy:

Anne I'll check out the web site after I get the Rug Rats fed and in the bed...I NEED A BREAK!!!

Hey Joanne...what good does it do to hide something when you know where it is??? ;)

Mima...WTG on the weight loss....I wish I was that close! I lost 5 lbs. last week...only 45 more to go!

The Rheumatologist I went to see at Nashville yesterday opted to just "put a bandaid" on my pain! He said he thought getting off the Methotrexate back the first of the year is what has made me so much worse. He wants me to keep taking it (I started back 5 weeks ago) for another 2 months and see if I get to feeling better. He gave me a "high powered" (his words) steroid shot...said it should last about a month! So...onward to diet land for me! All I've had so far today is a Soy SlimFast shake. Gotta go eat some rice (my lunch!).

I,too, just found out I have cataracts in both eyes, early stage. Tha eye doctor said to take 500 units of vitamin c daily to keep them from growing but I already do that and I still got them-my mother and grandmother had them-at least they have easy surgery now.
I told the rheumatologist about the upper cervical procedure and he was concerned about that particular spot being manipulated and paralysis. He also didn't particularly like my neck being cracked. But he did give me a prescrition to only take for two weeks each season for the beginning osteoporosis-I told you he knew his medicines. And he gave me a shot in my han right below my crooked from osteo index finger. He has a son with spina bifida so we talked a bit about him and my grandaughter.
Well-my hair has too much red in it after I got it frosted but I will have to live with that. Toodles,Mima

Anybody ever hear of Embrel or Plaquenil? Those are 2 medicines the Rheumatolotist said he may try if I'm not better in 2 months.

Hello==Plaquenil is a Malarial medication( may bind and alter the propertiesof DNA) occordinding to my drug manuel. Embrel is a new one on me . You can find it in the net. I hid the nuts in my husbands office because he is supposed to put them away so I don't see them and be tempted to eat them. Or he may find some empty containers. You know a little bit here and there. :s:
Hello Mema -Candice - You have to be as busy as me and keeping your flowers so nice too. Happy Canuk. Hello Nice site. I feel the message can apply in most cases.

Hi Guys. Hot in NY today but will be closer to 60 tomorrow. Yea. My thighs are permanently stuck together.

I am a reality TV addict. Gotta go watch Big Brother. I even have my son watching it cause they women are younger, prettier and have nicer bods this time around.

Happy...do you still talk to Tootie? How is she?

Candice...I have brain fog today....couldn't read everything, so NOW I know what you are talking about when we post a lot.:o

I took plaquenel
for a while but it gave me stomache cramps so I had to stop taking it. Didn't have a chance to work. Everything seems to give me cramps-lipitor also.So I am on a low dose of prednisone-probably not the best choice.
Dentist today. I am blonde again but it is too brassy.I am supposed to walk with my aunt today and got to lunch but we're supposed to have more storms.I hope the timing will be ok because I need to walk. We have a nice ritual in this condo bldg. When we have storms, we congregate in the unit across the hall .That has helped me adjust more. I lived in my own home for 27 years so I have a lot to get used to here. I did send a note to the perdon over my head and ask her to not vacuum after 8 at night-that seems reasonable-and to turn down the stereo. It's been nice and quiet ever since.I have the only family in the building over my head. I have to say that I don't miss all the work I did to take care of an 8 room house with 2 decks and a pool.
My oldest son e-mailed me and said he was really looking forward to my visit. Thatmade me feel so good!!!
Have a great day everyone. Mima

Hope you are all having a great day (you to Meme even if you are in great pain). The weather here is so hot - up in the 90's. I know most of you are used to that, but it rarely happens here. We broke a hundred year record yesterday, so now you have an idea of how often this phenomena occurs:lol:

Now the good news is that I have lost 4 pounds so far this week. That must be a BIG plus for me. However, no cause to celebrate, as they are the same 4 pounds I have lost so often. Now if I can just not get that exhausted feeling and if I don't have to take meds for pain, I will be ok. That last time, I started taking tylenol 3 and the codeine does a number on my stomach. I just have to keep eating or else it just plain hurts. Kind of the same as when I take anti-inflammatories.

Was to the Chiro the other day, and am feeling lots better again. The treatment held for almost 2 1/2 weeks, so that is really good for me. The arthritis pain has kicked up it's heels a bit, but the FM pain is way down, and I am still sleeping so well (Candice, how long does Elavil stay in your system - I was only taking 10mg once a day and have had not one effect from stopping cold turkey). I feeeeeel gooood.

Mima, does your son live far from you. That is nice that you can go visit. I also lived in a condo, and want so bad to get back to one. We listed our house, and then the market slowed down, so I will have to be patient. I loved living in the condo, and hardly ever heard any noise at all.

Ally - Tootie changed her e-mail address and she sent me a message to let me know that, but I haven't heard from her since. I have tried to send her messages, but they keep coming back, saying something silly. So Phyllis, if you ARE reading this, please send me a message and let us know you are ok.

Joanne - What is the story on the nuts? I don't see anything, except you hid them. Do you eat to many once you get started or what? I love nuts and eat about 15 of them daily(unsalted and mixed).

To bad about the cateracts. They have to be 'ripe' before they can do anything about them, don't they. I don't know much about them at all, but I know several people that have them.

Candice - your flowers are beautiful. What a lovely garden. It is so nice to share actual photos, but I will never have any, because when I remember to TAKE my camera, I leave it in the car, and forget to take it with me. That is no way to get a picture let me tell you. So, I must rely on graphics.

Hello Everybody-
Happy Canuk - The story on the nuts is that I don't stop at 1or2 or even 15. I grab a handful and eat and then like a adict head for another handful. They were in the kitchen and every evening when I started dinner there they were waiting for me. So It is up to my husband to police the nuts. I put them in his office. They were his nuts anyhow. I got rid of everything else there was to snack on. I weigh in tomorrow and like you said I will not get excited till I get below goal and then some.
Mima- Those shots in the hand really do hurt. Hope it helps you though. Hello Candice- Meme Too- Ally
We are going with our son to Sarasota tomorrow after WW to see a couple Banks he designed. He is a Design Architect. He designs banks in the daytime and homes on the side at night and weekends. My daughter is a teacher . And get this she doesn't weigh a hundred lbs and never has a wt problem She watches her wt and works out every day. I wish I had her willpower.
Bye for now... Joanne:)

Joanne....In searching for a healthy eating plan rather than focusing on diet I have found that nuts are very very good for you. And I have a tendency to do what you do....so I changed to raw nuts with no salt. I don't eat as many that way.

Tonight I went to dinner with my sister-in-law. Ordered salmon and got mostly veggies at the salad bar. But after the salad I thought I was gonna die...gas pains and bloating. This has happened everytime I eat at this restaurant. Wonder if there are preservatives in the things in the salad bar. I hads to go to the bathroom mid dinner and prayed no one else was in there (or I would never be able to go back)

Tootie...if you're reading I miss your insights. Was it Mima with the neighbors? Just be glad I and my twins are not over your head. I LOVE peace and quiet so much.

Wow-is it beautiful out!!!!Storms moved through yesterday but they were gone in time to walk with my aunt-we walked for almost an hour and a half. But we had lunch in the middle-hope that walk cancelled the tapioca pudding. Luckily, I can't eat nuts because of diverticulosis but I love peanut butter-make a rice cake sandwich for lunch when I'm in a hurry.
Massage today! What a week for appointments. I spent $200 to get myself in shape. Yes, I'm the one with the people over my head but ever since I sent a note about the stereo and vacuuming after 8pm. it's been much quieter and they are going on vacation tomorrow. It's waonderful in Fl.-the condos are side by side. Happy-with me it was the same 2lbs. but congratulations are in store. :) Have a great day everyone!!!!Mima

Hello Everybody-- Well the nuts caught up with me . Although I did everything right this week I still gained 1/2 lb. With the nuts and a few cheezetts (I should have thrown out) I got really disappointed on the scale. The leader also said I should increase my pts. 1-2 pts as I walk 3-4 miles everyday. We ate out in Sarasota and that is not going to help unless I am real careful the rest of the week. I got a lecture from my daughter on going to a proper rest. instead of a greasey KFC. Tomorrow is a new day. I will be good this week.
We went to a house and two banks my son designed. What a house !! What nice people!1 What am I going to do with the 2 boxes of Belgium Chocolate she gave me?? They own a fractory in Belgium.
Hello Happy Canuk
Ally - Some rest. put MSG( I think it is) on veggie to keep them fresh. I ate some salad at KFC today and had cramps before I was out the door today and barely made it to the Bathroom. For a long time I only ate salads at home. I will have to be more carefull now that it is summertime.
Bye all..Joanne:wave:

I wanted to start a new thread but wasn't sure how to.So maybe the next person will.I went to get a massage yesterday-she showed me that my feet were not relaxed at all and that causes pain in other places-probably knees. And she showed me some simple movements to help them relax. She teaches feldenkraus-anyone hear of that? It's about incorrect posture being responsible for some pain. Anyhow-I'm going to Tai Chi at the senior center this morning-that should be relaxing.I'll stop now because my typing fingers hurt from too much needlework.Have a great day. Mima
