A Servant's Prayer
Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways...
Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an
honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered
by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have
called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect
heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors
I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the
roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything
that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of
your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.
To love as you love...
To serve as you serve...
To heal as you heal...
To forgive as you forgive...
always mindful of my nothingness while doing
great and marvelous things in you name and for
you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

wilma12 11-14-2005, 10:04 AM Sunny: I see you there! Glad to have you back! I'll catch up on your post after work today.
I had a really relaxing Sunday. DH got called to work so I had the afternoon to myself. I would rather have spent it with him but sometimes circumstances don't allow that! I spent the afternoon doing my crossword puzzle and working on my quilt. DIL saw it yesterday and was quite thrilled with the way it's turning out. It's actually humorous to watch how excited she is. I'll take a picture of it and show it to you.
One more week of work and then it's a week of holidays. We're going to visit friends for a few days and then just stay at home for a few. We want to get the Christmas lights up before it gets too cold. I'm looking forward to getting out the decorations and start making it look like Christmas around here.
I am struggling with getting exercising again. I know my weight loss would be faster if I did but i just can't seem to get myself in gear. I would appreciate your prayers in this regard.
I would also appreciate prayers for youngest DS who is still struggling with his health. I think it's also affecting his morale. Hopefully he finds out this week what the specialist had to say. It takes so long to find out anything!
Well, gotta go get to work. Have a great day!

Good Morning My Dear Friends... :coffee2:
I will try to catch up with reading the last thread, but would love it if everyone would just pop in and touch base with me again :) And if the new CER's would introduce themselves to me that would be marvelous :bubbles: !!
I had quite a mess to clean up with my E-mails... :p I have two: OUTLOOK EXPRESS and INCREDIMAIL... *Outlook* I hardly check... if at all (my mistake!)... well, I found out, over weeks of searching, that when I Upgraded my IncrediMail several weeks back many of you whom I usually hear from (including the 3fatchick's forum links!) were going the Incoming Folder and Sub-folders in OUTLOOK! I could not understand where they went off to :shrug: And because I have been so busy trying to get things straightened out on my own... I have not been around to post in 3fatchicks aside from getting my e-mails... I am so sorry :sorry: I'm thrilled to have figured it all out and correct the Outlook so that now ALL my mail will go into the IncrediMail as it should have! In fact, I just received mail from Wilma already :D Not to mention that I have tons of e-mails from Michele/Michypoo that I just received :lol: Thanks sweetie!!
I have also been very busy with the Delphi Forums @ Sig Party... I basically work there for them as a *Forum Greeter*... it's fun, but very time consuming! Not to mention that my G-father has not been well and because of his health my mother who is worried over him is not well. I would so appreciate your prayers! :^: I find that I am on the phone allot with her and on the puter with my family. And that's not mentioning all the family fun! :dizzy:
On the bright side... we have a new nephew...
*Joseph Michael*
Born: Oct 27th pictured below at just hours old :)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/Home%20Pictures/BabyPayne1.jpg
He is a big boy - a bit over 8 lbs at birth :)
I do hope that this post finds you all doing well and enjoying life! :flow2:
Joe & I are doing well... and I thank all of you who have asked about us :sunny: Especially Gary and Michele/Michypoo ;) I have just opened your PM's and am so thankful for your friendship and concerns! I love you all and hope to stay in touch from here on in - now that I am getting my e-mails :)
*May the Lord Bless and Keep you all safe in His care!*

Hi Wilma,
It's so nice to see you! :goodvibes
Sounds like you had a lovely, restful Sunday & weekend... as it should be :) And your quilt sounds like it's coming along nicely... I cannot wait to see!
Kewl!! One more week of work and you are off... how has work been for you lately? I hope all has been going well for you :goodvibes
So you will be taking out your Christmas decorations... Joe and I have ours all finished -outdoors- We wanted to get it all done while the temps outdoors were still nice in Ohio! It's Nov 14th and still 53* out... so nice!! If we got snow the week of Christmas and then it went away again till next winter I'd be a happy camper... even if it were a mild snowy winter - I wouldn't mind (so the skiers won't be disappointed :) ) I'm not askin' much :lol: I hear that Canada has gotten some snow already... lots?
We'll decorate inside the weekend after Thxgiving here... Joe gets the day off before and after Thxgiving, so he'll have a 5 day weekend :D It's so much fun decorating for Christmas together!!!
I sure will keep you in prayers about exercising :^: I ask for yours as well sweetie! I have not kept up as I usually do and look & feel it too!! ;) Special prayers for your youngest... what is wrong sweetie?
Have a Great Day at work today Wilma...
Big warm hugz (((Wilma)))

PooMom 11-14-2005, 11:55 AM Good Morning! :wave: Happy Monday!
We're supposed to be in the 90's today! :sunny: It hardly seems like Fall when I'm still able to wear sandals and shorts. Oh well, I'm sure the cold and rainy weather will be here soon enough. I just hope it gets a bit blustery for some Christmas shopping time. That makes it seem so much more like the Season.
I spent the weekend with a girlfriend. We went to a wine tasting at a friend of her's very beautiful home. Everyone brought their best hors d'oevres and we had a ball. Yesterday we spent the day trying to get good pics of our dogs for our Christmas cards. We set up lots of Christmas "props" and she took my pics, then I took hers. It would have been easy if it had just been one person and one dog, but add our puppies into the mix, and it was chaos! :yikes:
We stopped at Starbucks... oh my, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is to die for! :coffee: They have Eggnog Latte and Gingerbread Latte also. I'll have to try those next.
I bought the last Mitford book at Costco yesterday, so began reading it last night. Has anyone here read Jan Karon's Mitford series? It's easy and delightful reading... I highly recommend it!
Sunny, your nephew is precious! Do you live close by so you can hold him??? I'm glad that you got your computer problems straightened out. Thanks for starting off our thread with the beautiful prayer.
Wilma, I'm praying for your DS. How old is he? Oh, and I'd love to see the pic of your quilt.
Gotta run... work is calling. Have a great day, everyone! :)
Mitchypoo 11-14-2005, 01:50 PM Yeah!! Sunny's back!!! Can't post much now. Going over to my friends house to help her with her twins and going to help clean house. But i'm so happy that we have our Sunny back!!!
pixiefalls 11-14-2005, 01:56 PM Hi everyone!:) I'm kinda new to posting at the 3FC forum here, but I'm getting more regular! My name is Hilary and I'm 17. In my signature you can see my journey will be long, but with the Grace and Strength of God I know I can do it (also, with support of fellow Christians):).
I was going to head off to school late but I'm just not feeling well enough. I think I may be getting a cold and I already felt sick to my stomach to start with:(. I know I'm new, but any prayers would be well appreciated!!
Have a great day all!
lateralus98 11-14-2005, 03:55 PM pixiefalls - Welcome to 3FC! I'm Rachel, I'm also 17, although next month I'll be 18!!!! :D
I've been here on and off since April, sometimes taking long hiatuses to focus on work. But I've been steadily losing since April! I have about the same goal you do, (I lowered my goal to 125 instead of 135 because at my height, barely 5'2'', I don't know if that is low enough for me to be satisfied!) :)
Just take it one step at a time, I know you can do it!!!! :goodvibes:

Hey Rachel (pretty picture in your signature)! Awesome :hat: ;)!!
I came in August, but got off track when I wasn't losing anything. It's different now though :yes:! Ahh, well see I'm 5'6'' so I wasn't sure what my goal weight should be. I guess we'll both have to wait and see!
Thanks, I have faith in you too :^:!
EZMONEY 11-14-2005, 09:03 PM HI GALS :wave:
Hi everyone. Well we made it back from Las Vegas in pretty good shape. Angie and I lost only a few $$$...less than a hundred, Amanda didn't have much time to play but did win $50 with a twenty that I gave her...she is smart enough to not gamble with her own money...she played black jack with her boyfriend at Mandalay Bay. Angie and I did what we usually do...Nothing! but walk around a lot and of course eat! We spend way more on food and drink there than gambling. We ate lunch at the Toby Keith's "I LOVE THIS BAR" at the Harrahs...it was good....but.....$6 for a domestic beer??? "Aw! Come on Toby"! :cry:
I spent Saturday afternoon in the room watching the USC WINS!! game, I don't like to watch with a lot of people because I like to really see and appreciate what they are doing now...doesn't happen often to be #1 in the nation for so long...if it was a regular year and game I probably would have found a nice sports bar. Angie went to the outlook mall while I did the game, Amanda was at the conference and Zac was out spending his $$$.
WILMA~ Prayers for your son. Prayers for you on the exercise too...but really dear, it's up to you...as you know...Angie is in a rut right now too...just can't seem to get up and going at 5am like she used to, or the yoga after work and weights, if you lived here in :sunny: sunny :sunny: California you two could partner up...hummm.... ;)
PIXIEFALLS~ :welcome3:
POOMOM~ Nah! It's easy to get to Carlsbad...15 to 76 to 5 to C-Bad Blvd! Now, if you do get to the FORUM...keep going to STAPLES CENTER and watch the LAKERS! ;) Angie and I have been wine tasting~~OF COURSE!~~ in Rancho Calif., we even spent our honeymoon...with our 3 kids :lol: :yes: :lol: at Embassy Suites there almost 10 years ago.
RACHEL and MICHELE~ Good to see you lurking!
LORI~ Picked up a post card in the Calif. desert and one in Vegas for Abbi, sent them today, Angie just got home from work and a few from her class wrote on ones I picked up last week from our area, I will get those in the mail tomorrow.
:hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: GRAPHICGODDESS :hug: :hug: :hug:
Prayers for your mom and grandfather....what a CUTIE!! your nephew is! :yes:
Well, Need to take out the casserole....later gals!
wilma12 11-14-2005, 09:56 PM Gary: I'm more and more inclined each winter to move to a warmer climate. It's been pretty nice up til now. Today I am sitting here while a storm is raging outside. It's the first of the season and the snow will probably stay for the winter. I like the snow but have real problems feeling safe on the roads. I do drive responsibly but still there is a fear especially at the beginning of the season.
I do know that exercising is up to me. Somehow the motivation I need has eluded me. I will get going again. Maybe just a slump!
Sunny: It was so good to read your post and to see your new nephew. He's adorable. I bet Auntie Sunny is going to spoil him, right??
DS is still experiencing respiratory problems. He finds out this week whether he has asthma or not. His supervisor from work called him today and told him they are working on moving him to an area in the business where he can do his IT support via chat rooms in stead of talking for eight hours. We're praying for him to get into there soon. He needs to be working until he decides to go back to schoo.
Work has been going really well. I am feeling more at ease in my position and everyone around me seems to be adjusting as well. I am looking forward to my holidays though and being able to relax a bit.
pixiefalls: Welcome! You will find the support you need here. We have a great bunch of people here who really care about each other.
Have a good night!
lateralus98 11-15-2005, 01:13 PM I haven't been around because I've been under a lot of pressure. My grandma is not doing too well please PLEASE pray for her. Her name is Carolyn.
doitforme 11-15-2005, 02:27 PM I been so busy at work, but should be slowing down abit now, all the audits are done. For at least 6 months yeah! Wilma- prayers for DS that they get him into the new position quickly and the Dr. is able to treat him and bring his breathing problems under control.
Sunny- wow! your back, it is you, what a cute nephew! prayers for Grandpa, and glad you got your computer problem fixed, mine has been really slow today, don't know why. don't be a stranger.
Pixiefalls- welcome, wow two mom to 5 prayers soon feeling better
Lori- keep your chin up it'll soon start dropping again! You have done awesome!
Lateralus- prayers for your grandma thatr she is soon feeling better
E.Z.- wow! sounds like you had a good time in las vegas, Mandalay Bay is where the PBR finals are held, I watch the PBR almost every weekend, and look forward to watching the finals Whats for dinner! (cassarole) Maybe I'll pop in for leftovers. (ha ha)
I am going down to see Carole tonight at Sunnyview a rehab center, her trach is out and she is doing well with just about everything but walking, and still isn't eating enough still has stomach tube. But pray she continues to recover well. Gotta go do my devotions wanted to pop in and say hi. Hi to all others i missed, catch ya later.
beth1167 11-15-2005, 04:05 PM :) I am pretty new to 3FC and my head is still spinning from all the great forums and helpful links, etc. I am a sister in Christ and would love to have encouragement and give encouragement. I am so tired of this "mental brickwall" that I have had such a problem with breaking through. I know what I should eat and exercises I should do; I just need the extra motivation to get going. So here I am.
Hi everyone. :^:
mom2fivesweeties 11-15-2005, 05:55 PM Hi Everyone! :wave:
Been awhile since I've been on here - things here are about the same - crazy as usual! :dizzy: Weighed in today and I'm happy to say I'm down 2.8 pounds! I sure was upset about not losing the last couple weigh-ins - Thanks for all the encouraging words!
SUE: I will be praying for Carole to continue her good recovery!
BETH: :welcome3: You will love it here!
RACHEL: I'll be happy to pray for your grandma.
WILMA: I will be praying for your DS. Although I love the snow, I know what you mean about driving in it! I have spun out on more than one occasion on icy roads - the problem is that now that our winters are warmer, we get the ice much more than the snow. That's just not safe for anyone!
GARY: Thanks so much for the postcards for Abbi! I ask her everyday if any arrived yet and she always says "no" - but she is my black haired Indian BLONDE! :rofl: That poor girl is confused most days! Vegas sounds awesome! Was there back in 1970 and I'm sure it's totally different now!
PIXIEFALLS: :welcome: This is a GREAT place!
MICHELE: Can you come over to my house and help me with MY twins and terrible BOYS!!?? :dizzy:
POOMOM: I would LOVE to see the finished pics of the pups!!!
SUNNYD: HELLO!!!!! :hug: So happy to see you!! I will be praying for your grandpa and mom and everyone else involved. Your nephew is a beautiful baby!!
HI to everyone else! Have a GREAT rest of the week!
:carrot: :strong: :jig: :dance: :ebike: :dancer:
wilma12 11-15-2005, 08:25 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/wilma12/Nov1544.jpg
See that pile of snow? That's my van under there. It took me 20 minutes to clear it off. DS cleaned the rest of the parking area and made sure I could get back into the house when I got home. I got to work safely but then got stuck in the parking lot. Luckily I have wonderful co workers who helped push me out. It was really slow at work so I got a lot accomplished.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v258/wilma12/Nov1543.jpg
mom2fivesweeties 11-15-2005, 09:33 PM Ooooooooooooooo Wilma!! It's GORGEOUS!!!! :snow4:
pixiefalls 11-15-2005, 10:21 PM Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome and prayers:).
Welcome Beth:)!
Wow Wilma that's a lot of snow! I live in Arkansas and I'm just not used to it that much;).
Hope everyone had a wonderful day!
EZMONEY 11-16-2005, 08:37 PM HI GALS :wave:
I hope you are all doing well today. I have a few minutes to spare so I thought I would check in. I put pork chops in the crock-pot this morning and Angie is going to her monthly BUNKO game, so i have time before dinner to chat.
My step-daughter is off to New York checking out colleges, daughter and son still at work and knucklehead nephew is out weeding the bank, working for some extra $$$ for an I-pod case.
My daughter's boyfriend's dad is stable....thank you for the prayers! :yes:
WILMA~ Love the pictures! A little different in "OUR" weather here yesterday and today... :yes: :sunny: :yes: It has been in the 80's here.
gotta go~ Angie came home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EZMONEY 11-16-2005, 10:13 PM I'M BACK GALS ~ OK coast is clear Angie is off to BUNKO~~ sorry I had to exit so quick, didn't want her to think I was taking it easy.. :yes: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :yes: RIIIIGHT! Like I could get away with anything with her :no: I wouldn't let her "OWN" me if I didn't love :love: :love: :yes: :love: :love: her soooo much! :hug:
WILMA~ Didn't have a chance to tell you that I just love the fact that your son was looking out for you on your arrival home!! I can't express how important it is to look out after your loved ones! It is so nice to see you asking for prayers for your boys and seeing the things they do for you! So cool his supervisor "looking out" for him too!
LORI~ GREAT :carrot: :balloons: :cheer: job on the loss. You are my favorite LOOOOOSER!!!!!! :D (for the moment)...! Sent Abbi post cards this morning (ran out of stamps yesterday) so she should receive about 10-12 total, a couple of days apart in the next few days. Let me know if she needs more than that and I will come through for you/her. Sent some out of the zoo, Sea World, Vegas, Calif. desert, San Diego, Oceanside, etc.
So you haven't been to VEGAS since 1970?!! WOW!! You may (?) be able to tell by the postcard I sent on how it has changed...but, oh my goodness! It is so cool there now...not sleazy (although IT is there)...but on the strip everything is pretty nice...I wouldn't say "FAMILY", but there are a lot of kids around. As I mentioned, Angie and I usually go on off days, walk around a lot, the shops in the casinos are amazing now, eat toooo much!!, drink tooo much! and gamble a little. They have a tram now that covers most of the strip...we get cheaper rooms at the Luxor usually, then just take the tram to the "NICE" casinos. We really enjoy it there, for a couple of days...then time to come home!
BETH~ :welcome:
AUNT SUE~ Glad carole is doing better. Oh, my casserole dinner the other night wasn't that good...good thing you didn't make it...however, come over for leftovers tomorrow! my pork chops and rice/gravy were awesome! tonight. I'm thinkin' we set up "our" neice with SunnyD's new nephew ;) Such a cute couple! Plus she will be older and WISER!! OK? What is the PBR?...Mandaly Bay is so cool....they have a giant tower of wine! Of course Angie and I can't afford to go into that restaurant...but we can look~ie~lou through the windows!!
RACHEL~ Sending up prayers for your grandma!
Well off to spend some time with my daughter....Gary
pixiefalls 11-16-2005, 11:57 PM Hi everyone! I've been having trouble with stress this past week.. not sleeping so well or eating much.. it's a big jumble before the holidays here, but I'm not going to be discouraged:).
Gary - it's good to here he is stable, I will pray for him.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day and made the most of it! :hug:
Mitchypoo 11-17-2005, 02:14 AM Hi all and welcome to newcomers. Sorry to be so abrupt, but i just wanted to say hi quick and ask for prayer. I was in an auto accident today, my aunt was driving and a car took a left hand turn right in front of her, i don't think either of us were really hurt, but i'm so sore and i'm a bit scared that it did more to my back. Please pray for healing if you can.
I'll post hopefully more tomorrow, but wanted to say hi, and yes Lori, i'd love to come help you! And Wilma, snow.....Ewwwww!!!! ;) It is pretty, but seeing it and remembering being in MN, i just had to say, EWWWWWW!!!
wilma12 11-17-2005, 09:58 AM Michele: My prayers are with you that your back wasn't affected by your accident. I also said EW to the snow. This is a record amount for our area and we think it's here to stay. DS has been getting a workout with all the clearing he's had to do. It is pretty but what a mess. The streets are still treacherous. It takes me 3 times as long to get to work as it usually does.
Pixie: Take care of yourself. HHHUUUGGGSSS to you.
Gary: Thanks! I think my guys are pretty special. Sometimes I feel they take what we do for them for granted and then they do something like this and you realize that they are growing up and those good qualities are coming through. Send me some of your 80 degrees. It's -25C here today. I don't know what that is in fahereheit but it's cold. We are known for our sunny, cold winters.
i would like to ask for prayer for today. My manager and I have to sit down to discuss some issues with a new employee. This is not my favorite thing to do and I know it won't be easy. She keeps overstepping the boundaries of her position and I don't know how she's going to handle being talked to. My devotions this morning talked about being gentle with those around us and that's how I'm going to try to handle it. I'm just glad that I'm not doing this alone. Thanks!
I'm off to brave the icy streets! Have a great day!
mom2fivesweeties 11-17-2005, 07:39 PM Hi Everyone! :wave:
I can't believe the scale but I'm ECSTATIC!! Weighed in today and lost THREE more pounds! That's 5.8 this week! I guess I'm making up for that stall! It's 25 total now!! I'm so excited! I wanted at least 25 off by Thanksgiving and by next Thursday I hope to have more off!
It's COLD here! It was 17 degrees this a.m. and I drove the kids to school. They usually stand up the street for the bus and it's up a hill and that wind really blows! It's really cold for this time of year - and last week it was 80!!
WILMA: I hope everything worked out ok with the employee. Are the streets getting cleared off? It sure was a pretty photo!
MICHELE: Are you feeling ok? I hope you aren't too sore from the accident. How's your aunt?
PIXIEFALLS: Hope things calm down for you - I keep telling my kids that Christmas is NOT about THEM! That it's about Jesus! That helps a little bit - otherwise they are bouncing off the walls from now until after New Year's and at 50 years old, I just can't do that much excitement! :rofl:
GARY: I'll let you know when the postcards start coming. So far, my ditzy Indian "hasn't seen any!" :rofl: I have lots of people that responded so I KNOW she has to have gotten some! Vegas sounds awesome!
HI TO EVERYONE ELSE!!! Have a GREAT Friday!!
:carrot: :strong: :cp: :dance: :ebike: :dancer: :turkey: :thanks2:
EZMONEY 11-17-2005, 08:17 PM HI GALS :wave:
Hi ladies, just got home from work so I thought I would check in while I have my :coffee: ... :lol: :lol: :lol: ...NOT! drinking :coffee: ...had two pots of that already today...and it is 80 degrees and :sunny: here WILMA!
LORI~ I can't see you!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! You have lost about half a 5 year old :D You need to take a couple off just so you can have all you want at Thanksgiving and maintain!!
REMEMBER GALS~~~THANKSGIVING IS JUST '' ONE DAY ''...DON'T GET ALL EXCITED AND BUMMED OUT OVER EATING THAT ONE DAY...ENJOY YOURSELVES WITH YOUR FAMILIES....GET OUT AND WALK IN THE MORNING! :happ3:
WILMA~ Prayers for your work situation! and for warm weather!
PIXIEFALLS~ Prayers for your holiday stress :stress:
MICHELE~ Prayers for you and your aunt in the accident!
Well I need to go get the bratwurst on the grill before Angie gets home and starts in her :drill: "Where is my dinner?" :drill: voice............ ;)

Today has been the best I've had in a while :carrot:
Mom2fivesweeties - Good job on your weight loss!! Thank you, you are so right! Once this Tuesday comes around I know things will be much better;).
Michele - I will be praying for you, how are you doing?
Wilma - Thank you, I will;). I'll also be praying for you:).
Gary - Thank you as well! That's right! Thanksgiving will be wonderful to spend with my family (I love the holidays) :carrot:. Wow, 80! It's below 30 here and I didn't have time to get used to the up-coming winter weather that usually comes in December not November! Oh well, it's another beautiful day and that's enough to be embraced :^:.
Have a great night everyone! :hug:
wilma12 11-18-2005, 12:49 AM Thank you all so much for your prayers. I really felt them. God really gave me the right words to say. The meeting with the employee went much better than I expected. I think deep down we all know where we need to improve but if we aren't pushed to do so we don't bother. She was willing to work on the areas she need to improve in so we'll give her a chance to improve.
Lori: You are doing so incredibly well! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Keep up the awesome work.
the weather here has been really strange. We went from 12C on Friday to -25C today and tomorrow is supposed to be back up to 0C. That's the freezing point there. There is such fluctuation in temperature that it's so hard to know how to plan. Maybe the snow will melt a bit this weekend.
We are going away this weekend to visit friends. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again. I am on holidays next week and plan to get going on my Christmas shopping, decorating, etc. AND just relaxing a bit too.
Good Night!
beth1167 11-18-2005, 12:03 PM Wilma, the snow looks kinda inviting. Then again I don't have to shovel it. I lived in Minnsota for 4 years and I really miss the change of seasons. Up until about 3 or 4 days ago, we were still having very warm weather.....well upper 80's - 90ish. It seems hot when you are really looking forward to cooler weather.
Thanks everyone for making me feel welcomed.
Mitchypoo - I'll keep you and your aunt in my prayers. Even fender benders can be troublesome. A little bit of pain, car repairs, insurance companies, etc....yuck.
Wilma - my prayers to you and your boss for patience and guidance in dealing with your co-worker.
Lori - you keep on "rockin" girl. What a loss. I hope to report to everyone soon of more loss. The holidays will be trying.
Pixiefalls - I can empathize with you. I sometimes feel "bogged down" right about now. I have 4 teens at home. 3 his, 1 mine and a new job and classes. I am getting better at juggling. However, I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas mainly to breath, enjoy family and reflect on the year.
Everyone - you all seem so sweet and awesome. I feel like a little kid. I have never been a member of any kind of forum and this is all new to me. I think I am hooked.
Take care!!! And keep up the good work.
Victory!!! 11-18-2005, 02:25 PM Victory Everyone!!
I am Victory, and I am a Christian who is in the process of losing weight and gaining my life back. I have been in my life style change for the past 2 weeks and I have lost 16 lbs. Please keep me in your prayers as I "Get what belongs to me".
God Bless you all, and keep up the good work!
pixiefalls 11-19-2005, 03:28 AM Thank you all so much for your prayers. I really felt them. God really gave me the right words to say. The meeting with the employee went much better than I expected.
That's wonderful! I had a strong feeling that you're meeting would go well:).
Victory - welcome:)!
Beth - Oh I bet, I couldn't even imagine at the moment! It's getting better for me because I have accomplished a lot of things. My last thing to get past is my term paper and I am free to relax:). I love the holidays and are looking forward to them just like you; God is the most important to me but family is really something I'm big on so I can't wait:^:!
Hope everyone has a good night and a peaceful weekend :hug:.
mama2benandrachel 11-19-2005, 09:39 AM Good morning everyone!
I am new to this site and to this forum. I Praise God that there is a Christian forum to post to!
I am 45, married and have two kids: Benjamin is 11, the happy, healthy, intelligent boy that I prayed for. He was a preemie, 9 weeks early, weighing 2 lbs. 6 oz. at birth. He is now SUPER tall and EXTREMELY handsome (mom's bias)! He has autism which is challenging for all of us! He is my hero! The struggles that this little boy deals with day to day even I can't truly comprehend! He has a huge vocubulary, but he struggles with conversational language and has a very high sensitivity to loud noise. He is mainstreamed in an elementary school where he attends an autism impaired classroom and attends regular education classes with an aide several times a day. My 4 year old Rachel, is my "surprise baby"! I prayed for her too. I had a lot of infertility problems for both of my kids, that is why the 7 year span between them. I was almost 42 when I had her! She is amazing! I can't get her to stop talking! :o) My husband Fred is much older than me. We have been together for 24 years! He had to retire because of his health. He takes care of the kids and I went back to work almost 3 years ago after a 7 year hiatus from the IT field. Divine Intervention was the ONLY reason I got back into this field after 7 years! I went back to the company I worked at for 12 years and my old boss created a position for me! With over 100,000 IT professionals looking for jobs in this country, I KNOW this was the work of our Blessed Father!!!!!!!!
I would like to find a way to reach my special needs child, to teach him about Jesus. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
Please pray for my husband. We are not on the same page spiritually. He is saved, but very worldly and very depressed that he can no longer work and provide for his family. I keep trying to explain to him that it is a blessing that he gets to spend time with the kids; he agrees, but he is very cooped up here with little adult contact. Pray for me too; I have been delivered from anger and a quick temper, but it is manifesting itself and I only want to show my love and the love of Jesus to my family!!!!!!!
On the diet front, I am on Medifast. I have lost 50 lbs. in 10 weeks!!!!! I am so geeked about that!!!!! I have fought obesity for my entire life!!!!
Enough rambling! I am so pleased to be here! I thank God for all of you!
Mitchypoo 11-19-2005, 03:20 PM Judy! :welcome3: Thanks for telling us about you and your dear family. Please come back and post often. And woo hoo :cb: on your weightloss!
EZMONEY 11-20-2005, 09:29 PM HI GALS :wave:
Taking a few minutes to check in while Angie makes ravioli for dinner. We just got back from Fry's with a new printer (mine and the boys broke last week- Angie is stingy ( :nono: ) with hers...actually she isn't but it's upstairs and too far (lazy) for us to walk~~~ Ryan took our digital camera to a Halloween party and someone dropped it, so we are getting $150 from him, we picked up a little better one for us and our cd player that Angie has had for 17 years isn't doing the shuffle for us so WE HAD TO HAVE ONE!! for the Christmas season....with all the music~~ MANHEIM STEAMROLLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We must have at least 4 Christmas CD's of them...soooooo GOOD!!!
:carrot: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!USC WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :carrot: I didn't get to see the game yesterday (they didn't televise it on our cable system and with Angie gone for the night at her mom's...there was no way I was going to a sports bar and driving home!!), but my son and some of his guy and girl friends went...he pretty much called me with the play by play!! Close and exciting game!!
LORI~ Hey! Stop picking on me through PM!! :nono: ;)
MAMATOBENANDRACHEL~ :welcome: I went to school with a gal that married someone older...he was 45 when they married, she was 22....they had issues of course, but they did get along OK...no children...unfortunately he passed away 10 years ago...we are 51 now....she had some great years with him...just not many. Good luck and prayers for him in his "retirement"!
PIXIEFALLS~ Good luck :goodluck: on that term paper!
VICTORY~ :wel3fc:
BETH~ Glad to see you sticking around.
HEY MIA'S~~~PLEASE COME BACK.....
beth1167 11-21-2005, 10:32 AM Welcome Judy - yes God is always there for us. My husband is also in the IT field and we have had touch and go times with his job. Luckily, just last monday he started a new job that he was brought into by a couple of good friends from church. It is a much better situation.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Well, it started on Friday. You know.......Thanksgiving potluck at work, big dinner out with my parents and brothers celebrating a couple of family birthdays, next week is "turkey day" We can do it folks. Actually it was difficult for me. My husband and I took the kids to see Harry Potter and we bought popcorn and drinks - then ate Subway afterwards. I need to bear down now and resist the temptations. My big killer is salty things. I take blood pressure medicine with diuretics and it seems like my water weight fluctuates so much. I can just look at a salt shaker and puff up with water. Sometimes as much as 5 - 7 pounds. It goes as quickly as it comes though. Let's do it together. I am getting my treadmill out of lay-a-way next week. The whole family is really psyched about that. We also have DDR. Some playstation dance game that really gets you moving. You probably have seen them in the mall arcades. Anyway, wish me luck.
We can do it. We can all do it. One day at a time.
doitforme 11-21-2005, 04:11 PM Sorry I been away for a few days again, busy, busy, busy. Welcome Beth,Victory,Judy anyone else I missed! Wow :ori- your doing awesome! Keep up the good work! Wilma- Glad all went well with your employee, and pray she does turn it around so things work out. Wow! we had snow too, but not that much soon though probably. Mitchy- Prayers for your back and that all is o.k. from the accident and your aunt is well also. E.Z. Leftovers sounds good! Love porkchops. The PBR stands for Professional Bull Riders. It is broadcast on OLN every weekend. They just had their finals at Mandalay Bay. Justin McBride won this year, for 1 million dollars and the gold buckle. What's not to like, Cute cowboys (most are too young though), and the excitment of staying on a bull for 8 seconds. Alot of them are Christian's and give God the praise when they get off the bull, by kneeling and a quick prayer and pointing up hich is always nice to see. Well gotta run just wanted to pop in and say HI and say HAPPY THANKSGIVING! GOD BLESS! Hi to everyone else! see ya
mom2fivesweeties 11-21-2005, 10:39 PM Hi Everyone,
Please pray for my friend, Deb, and her family and all of us. Our friend, Dan, died this morning. We were with them 24 hours before he died. We were at their house on Saturday night/Sunday morning and I told Bob I didn't think he looked good. By this a.m. he had died in his sleep. This is such a shock to all of us and please just pray that Deb finds peace and strength in the days ahead -
Thank-you, my friends -
Love, Lori

Just finished dinner, Angie home from school for the week so she will do most of the cooking~~ her usual tonight (Which my kids love!) chicken, rice, veggies and bread~~~ she can make "healthy" chicken a zillion ways with sauces...When I cook there is nothing :chicken: chicken :chicken: about it! it's all :ink: :moo :ink: :moo: :yes: : at least the kids will be happy this week ;)
Angie is in the living room listening to CD's on the new player...I am hearing John Mellancamp, Van Morrison , Bob Segar and Bozz Scaggs so far.
LORI ~ Prayers for Deb, hers and your families...sad thing to go through. Was he sick or was it totally unexpected? I feel almost ashmed to bring it up now dear in your loss but when you get a chance go to The Biggest Looser (ANOTHER THREAD~~by oz) and look at about the third post from Suzanne...maybe this will settle our "FEUD" ;)
AUNT SUE~~is that really you? Great to see you babe! I have never watched the PBR but I just might check it out! I know I could never stay on a bull 8 seconds..heck, I can't even stop from buggin' Angie for 8 seconds :lol3: You stay glued to that TV...nothing the matter with you "looking" at cute young guys in hats, levis and boots! Have a great THANKSGIVING... :turkey: COWGIRL~UP! :turkey:

Mitchypoo 11-22-2005, 12:39 AM Oh, Lori, i'm so sorry. Prayers for Deb, Dan and family. :hug: :grouphug:
Hello to all..
beth1167 11-22-2005, 10:56 AM Good morning.
Lori - my prayers are with Deb and her family and friends.
EZMoney - Awesome website. I now have it bookmarked. And yes, Harry Potter was awesome as usual. We went to see it at a new neighborhood theatre...Rave Theatre. It is really nice. Stadium seating, surround sound, cushy rocking chairs with cup holders and the best part........about 1 - 1 1/2 miles from home which is amazing for a big city like Houston. We used to have to drive about 30 minutes away.

Hello Jill (PooMom),
So nice to meet you... I am glad you enjoyed that prayer... it is so beautiful! As for your temps... well... we are in the 30's today and expecting a WHITE Thanksgiving Day :) But I am not gonna complain, cuz we have actually had a very mild November this year for NE Ohio... nice!!
Your Christmas Cards sound like they are going to be adorable!! :lol: Usually pics like that make the best cards! I haven't even started on my Christmas things yet!! :dizzy: There's always much more to be done then there is time to do it in :lol: There is such a big push here for shopping... they were playing Christmas music NOV 1st in all the stores!! And I am still in Thanksgiving mode :D I try very hard not to allow the media to push me ahead ~ enjoying each day as they come! :bluebutterfly:
Thank-you for the compliment on my nephew... yes.. he does live close-by, BUT I had the flu the week he was born and have had a head cold since and so I have yet to go visit him... just didn't feel I should till I am clear of this... it's just about gone now. I'll probably get to see him this Thursday at the family Thanksgiving gathering :)
Hi Gary :hug:
You always bring a smile to my face!! My G-father is hangin' in there, but my mother is taking his illness (knowing he will soon be gone) very hard!! I have spent allot of my time lately on the phone with her and she & I have been reminiscing... it makes us feel better to remember the good days and to talk!!
I am relieved to hear that Amanda's boyfriend's father is doing better... keeping him in my prayers!
I have the kewlest Santa siggy for you to wear that I will post in the PM for you, okay... I hope that Angie will have a moment to put it in for you and that you like him! :D
So... you were in Vegas... sounds like you had a blast there! Did you both see the M & M store there? It's huge and so much fun! Joe & I spent $50.00 just in the M & M candy when we went! We brought it over to my G-parents home; and then mixed all the colors up in the huge bowl leaving it in the center of the table for all the visitors to enjoy! Anyway, I am glad to hear that you and Angie had a good time!
How are those pups of yours doing these days??? Have they calmed down some? Did you sell your house in WA.? And How are things with you and Dear Angie? Has Angie started up with her walking again? I have not walked in a month and boy do I feel it --- help coach Gary!! I need a kick in the hiney!! :lol:
Have you & Angie begun your Christmas shoppin' yet? Joe & I haven't even begun yet! I have cards to make and gifts to buy... I just love this season!!!
Hi Michele,
I am so sorry to hear about your accident the other day!! So relieved you were not hurt badly... but the shock to the body and mind stays with you days after... feel better sweetz!! :hug: How have you been since you moved to CA? Has it been hard for you to adjust?
I have something for you!! ;) She is a siggy for the Christmas season... I hope you like her :) I will post her in a PM after I post this thread, okay. I hope this post finds you doing well! Thank-you for the welcome back :)
Hi Wilma,
I am so sorry to hear about your DS's poor health... did you ever find out what was wrong with him!??
I am so happy for you that all went well with your meeting at work the other day... I know how you hate those kind of confrontations... but it soundslike you are getting better at having to do it. I would luv to have you as my boss!! :)
I luved your pictures... very pretty, but felt a shiver go down my spine when I saw them :lol I am not ready for winter yet, don't know that I ever will be :p We had about 3" of snow last week,but it only lasted a day cuz the temps went up again :)
Hi Sue,
Wonderful to see you again too!! I try very hard not to be a stranger... I love you people very much... just as I would family!! The days just seem to creep past me! How are you doing? How is that baby-niece of yours doing with her new family? I bet you cannot wait for Christmas this year!!! :)
I was at my neighbors last night... Alice and her mom live there... Alice had to go be with her daughter in MI while she had surgery, so I *mama* sat last night from 4 till 10pm... she is 92 yo and still is mentally very alert!! Amazing!! Joe & I bought her some chicken nuggets and a frosty at Wendy's and she luved it!!! (hehehe... I know... not very healthy, but that's what she wanted! And at 92... you deserve to eat what you want :) )
*WELCOME* Hilary (Pixiefalls),
Nice to meet you as well... I do hope that you are feeling much better by now. You have my prayers as far as your wt-loss goes... I am so there too... needing to lose a few pounds that I have gained back the last month. *Prayers* for you with relaxing... stress is something tat gets in the way in most of our lives, if we let it. It's an effort for me, but when I feel the stress taking over me - I sit where ever I am at and close my eyes, take a few slow very deep breaths and ask our Lord to help me and in a matter of moments feel so much better... give it a go sweetz, it may help :)
Hi Rachel,
How has life been treating you these days? Doing anything special for Thanksgiving? :) *Prayers* for G-mother sweetz :hug:
*WELCOME* Beth,
I saw your pic and you are adorable!! Welcome to CER's sweetie! Don't we all need motivation - especially this time of year... I hope that we can help one another movin' again. I was walking about 35 - 45 miles a month and have not walked at all this past month and boy do I feel a huge difference! I enjoyed going outdoors and when it got darker I found it harder to get up! :lol: I dragged my T-mill out in hopes to begin again! *Prayers* for you too sweetz!
Hi Lori,
Thanks for the nice welcome back sweetie... it's good to see you back as well!! :bravo: Congrats on losing 25lbs sweetie... you are doing a marvelous job! I am so green!!! :lol: Keep up the wonderful job sweetz!!! I can feel the JOY you feel jumping right off the monitor :D
*WELCOME* Victory,
I do hope that you are continuing to do well with your wt-loss... do pop in again sometime :)
:wave: HELLO's out there to all my other Dear CER Friends... Please stop in and just drop a line to let us know how you are and what you are up to for the Beautiful Holiday of Christmas!! :flow2:
Joe and I are spending Thanksgiving Day with his sister, Marie, and the family... there will be 21 of us there :dizzy: But it's fun... hope the weather behaves itself... it's suppose to snow the whole day making travels hard. My Joe has taken off Wednesday right thru the weekend... he already decorated the outdoors (last week) with our Christmas decorations while the temps outdoors were warmer, so that is all done and ready for Friday evening to be turned on :flower1: This Wednesday we are baking bread and cookies for Thanksgiving Day and then on Friday we are going to put on our favorite Christmas movies and egging to decorate our home for Christmas together... Joe puts up the lights and I decorate the tree... so much fun!!! I am so looking forward to *our* time together!!! It's been so long since my Joe & I have had time like this all to ourselves with no meetings to go to!
May the Lord Bless you as you prepare for His Holy Season of Christmas!!!

Margie B. 11-22-2005, 04:43 PM Hello again, sorry it's been so long since I've been able to post. Seems like when you're so-o-o busy you think it can't get any busier and then IT DOES! This next couple of weeks will be no exception I'm afraid, I work all week (including Thursday and Friday, at 9-1-1 there's no break!), then on Saturday is the pancake breakfast/fundraiser for the ballet company which I'm in charge of, followed by a day-long practice and my neice's bridal shower Saturday nite. Going into next week, working again all week, then the ballet performance of "The Nutcrakcer" on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the following Monday. Of course I'll be at each of these to see my DD perform! (not that I'm a stage mom - just a proud momma! she's my love & my life!) Have not started anything Christmasy as yet, no tree, no lights, I wait at least until after Thanksgiving before I start any of that stuff. Usually drag it out and DD puts it all up 'her way' which I could care less as long as she enjoys!
SunnyD - what a cute little boy! Hope you get to feeling better soon so you can love on him, needs all them hugs & kisses from Auntie Donna.
PooMom - I also LOVE the Mitford series! That's probably my favorite of all! I didn't realize the new book was out, guess I'll have to be stopping by the library, I understand it's her last one in this series too, too bad it's a great story line!
Wilma - SNOW! Those pics were beautiful, it was about 80 here when you posted them, now it's 40's and windy, snow is in the forecast though. Continued prayers for your DS.
WELCOME - Pixiefalls, Mom2ben&rachel, Victory!!! and beth1167, you guys have posted some amazing weight losses too, come back and tell us how!
Rachel - Hi girl, good to see you on here again, how's class? Prayers for your grandma.
Sue - sounds like you're as busy as usual. . . continued prayers for Carole.
Mom2Five - WOW, WTG on your continued weight loss you LOSER!!!!! You're doing GREAT, keep it up! Have you and hubby taken your 'reward' trip yet? Prayers for your friend, so sad. . .
Michelle - Sorry to hear about your wreck, are you still feeling okay. Sometimes the 'bumps' don't actually show for a few days. Hope your aunt is okay too.
EZ - well tennis season is over for another year and maybe totally. I got forms (& lots of 'em) to start sanctioning for the high school and get us a team but seeing as how no one, (excuse me) - NO ONE!!! came to the final party (except me and DD of course), I can't hardly justify that there's a real interest there, - I was really disappointed. . . anyway, I think I need to go shopping with you and Angie, seems like you all pick up the neatest stuff! and then perhaps stay for dinner too??? Everything sounds so yummy, - maybe I just need someone to cook for me once in a while? ANGIE - Potter is great! Not quite the same as before (different director again) but still VERY good, 2 1/2 hours of good! The cast is all growing up and they're so good looking!!! Planning on going again as soon as it hits the 2nd run theater (not cheap just 'cost efficient') as I believe there will be scenes that will make better sense once you've seen them the second time, probably get more meaning/depth the second time around.
Better go, sorry I just had a minute to stop in. Hi to all the MIA's and all the newbies, hope to see you all again soon!!! Hugs & prayers and safe Thanksgiving travels - Margie

Mitchypoo 11-22-2005, 05:40 PM Hello all :wave:
:welcome3: to any newcomers and people coming back. I'm having a hard time posting often, probably because i'm struggling with being on program, i'm still trying and all, but i'm not perfectly on program. And with the holiday this week i've decided to keep things in moderation. I can have a little of whatever, i'm going to just watch my quantities.
I'm dating a really nice guy named Junior. We'll see what happens there. I'm making cloverleaf rolls today to practice for my homemade rolls on Thanksgiving. The dough turned out really nice, so we'll see. We're having dinner at our house with mom and dad, my brother, my friends Bob and Sandy and i also invited Junior. Not sure he will be able to make it. I'm so happy to be home for the holidays and not be rushed and be able to help mom with the dinner. It's gonna be fun!
My Vikings won yesterday!! Yeah Vikings! (Sorry, if we have any cheeseheads!)
Hey Margie, what happened with Fred?
Oh, and thank you all for your concern, i'm fine after the wreck. I was really sore for about 3 days, i still have a bruise deep on my hip from the seatbelt but it's not too bad. And my Aunt was not hurt or sore at all. She's a tough old bird!
Hi and :hug: to all!
EZMONEY 11-22-2005, 11:18 PM HI GALS :wave:
Angie painted in the living room all day so for dinner we are having sub sandwiches and chips. She is in listening to Jim Brinkman and Harry Connick right now on the new CD player. She is playing the music LOUD ...for me...but she changed my Avatar and my siggy from SUNNYD...so how can I be mad at her, right? :hug:
My kids just had a great time baggin' on me for being "behind" in the times...I heard a song, Listen To Your Heart today on the radio by D.H.T....an old song by Roxette, but this time with less instrumental and mostly piano...LOVED IT!! :carrot: anyhow, it was overplayed on their stations evidently awhile back......doesn't matter to me...I ordered DHT, Carrie Underwood and THE WHO!! greatest hits on amazon tonight! Merry Christmas to me ;)
MICHELE~ Great to see you back...a guy named Junior?...humm...kiddin'!! Good luck. Loved homemade rolls. OK~ so you and my Pastor "finally" had a win! Daunte who?

BETH Angie was going to go see Harry Potter with her daughter on Thanksgiving, but Lara went with a friend soooo, we are going to go see the Johnny Cash movie, probably, on Thanksgiving.
MARGIE~ YEA!!! MARGIE is back!! Hey girl, Angie and I will cook for you anytime!! It is so nice to have someone doing the cooking for you once in awhile isn't it?! So sorry about the tennis...just keep on trying is all I can say! It is not uncommon for kids AND PARENTS to drop the ball! Do not take it personally!! You just keep on doing good things for you and your kiddo and it will all turn out OK!
SUNNYD~ humm, ....used to know a girl by that name...a looong time ago....... ;) ...not gonna tell you GALS...but she is my favorite!! :sssh:

Margie B. 11-23-2005, 09:19 AM Hey Michelle: Guess you didn't see the earlier updated, well long-story short - Fred wanted more than to just be my walking partner and I didn't (thanks to EZ I did tell him that up front, many times) and he couldn't accept that so now he's mad at me and unfortunately has even quit coming to church. He also has some other issues he's dealing with and last we spoke I did ask him to at least look for another church, it's not like we're the only one in town, the most important thing is just to be there!
Glad to see you got changed from "Minnesota" to "California" and happy you're home. I'm sure your Mom appreciates all the help on this busy weekend!
I too am glad the Vikings beat the 'cheeseheads' as I'm a BEARS fan!!! Yeah, leading the division!! So ANYONE who beats the cheeseheads and I'm happy!!!!! :carrot:
EZ: Love the new siggy on you!! How's the weather in CA? Do you all actually get any snow? It's cool here today, not quite as cold and windy as yesterday but snow (1") expected this afternoon, although I am so close to the river it usually keeps the most of it off. Heck I just picked a ripe tomato about two weeks ago, of course now the plants have frozen and when I get 2 minutes to put together I need to clean out my flower boxes and get some mulch over them bulbs!
Hope you enjoy 'Walk the Line', I would like to see it but DD doesn't like country and has no idea who Johnny Cash was.
As I stated last post, I am working on Thanksgiving Day but will be going to Mom & Dad's on Friday evening. My brothers, sisters-in-law, etc. all have in-laws and outlaws that they go to on T'giving Day so Mom & Dad do dinner 'after' (sort of like EZ) so it's not so rushed for everyone. All in all there will be about 22 for dinner, that's a lot of turkey!
And Michelle is right, enjoy the day, the family, remember to GIVE THANKS and eat in moderation that way you get to 'try' everything. Even if you overdo remember it's just one day and you can get back to it on Friday. Hugs and prayers to all for a lovely holiday weekend - Margie
EZMONEY 11-23-2005, 10:09 AM MARGIE~ Your kidding me right? ;) OF COURSE IT SNOWS HERE! Why I remember back in '69 we were able to scrape up enough out of the grass to make 2 snowballs :snowfight Seriously! People that were around here at that time still bring it up. Truthfully, fall has set in here, it has been in the "low" 80's all week~~ we need to get out the long pants though because it is supposed to "cool" down into the 70's for Thanksgiving :happ3: Where we are located, we can be in snow in less than 2 hours.
I can't believe your DD doesn't like country~~ I can understand Johnny Cash country...but not Rascal Flats~Keith Urban~Kenny Chesney country. Around here most young girls like it, the guys stay away from it until they get a little older it seems. Take her and let her go in one she wants to see and you go into Walking the Line.
Looks like I am going to owe my BEARS fan from church a 6 pack this year since my RAIDERS, although not playing too bad, have only 4 wins so far.
Hope work is slow for you and you have a great Thanksgiving on friday.
beth1167 11-23-2005, 10:34 AM EZMoney-My husband and I want to see the Johnny Cash movie too. On opening day, I wore all black in his honor. However, my mother, daughters, and I plan on seeing a good chick flick tomorrow after the big dinner - Pride and Prejudice.
:turkey: :turkey:
Everyone-have a happy turkey day and for those traveling - have a safe day. Till next time.........bye.
mom2fivesweeties 11-23-2005, 01:50 PM Dear Friends,
Just wanted to take a moment and thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt condolences on the loss of our dear friend. I'm thankful to have been his friend for the last 27 years. I'm thankful to all of you for being here for me during my down times, my triumphs and now through this.
May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families and friends. May the Lord continue to bless each and every one of us.
God Bless all of you and your families this Thanksgiving Day~~
Love in Christ,
Lori :hug:
wilma12 11-23-2005, 01:55 PM We're back from our mini-holiday. It was really nice to visit old friends and see the people in the church we used to attend. It's alway good to connect with them. But, the interesting thing was I was really ready to come home too. I was a little surprised about that but I guess this is now our home.
I still have the rest of the week off and I'm doing some cleaning that never gets done and I want to get out some of my Christmas things. I also plan to get started on my shopping. And of course do some relaxing too. This week is going to go by way too fast.
Talk to all again soon!
Mitchypoo 11-23-2005, 01:59 PM Hi all :wave:
Where are you getting the cute turkey graphics? :thanks2: :happ3: :thanks1: :turkey: Oh, i found them!
Yes, EZ, his name is Junior, or rather, that is not his given name but he doesn't like it and he was named after his dad, so he's always been Junior. I saw him again last night. He's a really good guy.
I had another accident last night, so call me grace. I was walking to Junior's apt. on the sidewalk and hit an uneven place in the sidewalk and had stuff in both my hands and i fell flat forward, scraped both elbows, bruised my hands, and my knees, but did not hit my head or face thankfully. A guy from across the street saw me and came to help me, i was so embarrassed. I'm more sore from that than the car wreck. Junior bandaged me up and took care of me.
I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving too. Let's be thankful for all of our dear Lord's blessings. I am also thankful for all of you, my 3fc CE'rs whose prayers and kind words have meant more to me than you'll ever know.
EZMONEY 11-23-2005, 08:34 PM HAPPY THANKSGIVING GALS :happ3:
I just want to thank all of you for the prayers and stories you all have shared with Angie and me this past year. We have kept friends, made new ones, and unfortunately lost a few to other places/activities....
It has been a pretty eventful year for Angie and I, this time last year we were returning home from Washington wondering "WHAT HAVE WE DONE?"~~ we had just purchased the lot to build our dream home on~~ as most of you know it was built and sold!! Typical "ME".....Angie and I will have new dreams, new adventures...and of course new heartaches...but we vow to get through it together....there has been a lot of laughter, hopes and dreams this year for us...and a few tears....but today Angie is painting in the house, I had a good day at work, Angie received the "2" flower arrangements I sent her for Thanksgiving...I am sooooo thankful for her!!!!!!!!!!!!! So all is good...PLUS~~ she wants to thank me tonight ;)
Tomorrow is just one day girls!!! Enjoy the food~~your friends~~your families!! :yes:
:happ3: :thanks2: :turkey: :thanks1: :happ3:
EZMONEY 11-25-2005, 01:13 PM HI GALS:wave:
Well, I didn't eat too much turkey yesterday:nono: I just couldn't eat after hearing that NICK & JESSICA broke up:?:
Angie and I just got home from the store picking up two turkeys for tomorrow, later we go to Costco for a ham and other things. having our Thanksgiving tomorrow, right now it looks like about 25+...but a few always find a way to sneak in at the last minute.
Angie and I painted all day yesterday, almost done, just a little touch-up. We had the CD's playing all day...didn't see ANY football! I had the games on, but on mute....really never sat down all day. We celebrated :barf: by going to Jack-In-The-Box for dinner! I think that is where we ate last year for Thanksgiving for some reason. we were just too tired to cook after painting all day.
I hope you all had a great day with your families!!
If you ate too much...NO BIG DEAL!!!...go for a walk today!!
Well, off to do more shopping for tomorrow....Prayers for all, Gary
lateralus98 11-25-2005, 02:42 PM :dizzy: Wow! It sounds like everyone had quite an eventful thanksgiving!
:thanks2:
I didn't overeat too much. Just on the mashed taters! I went for a workout today though, so I am back on track!
Sunny -- THANK you for the cute little signature! I love it!
I start my new classes next week, hopefully I'll be able to keep up :dizzy:
Gary -- hope the Thanksgiving dinner goes well :^: Sounds like you had a VERY busy thanksgiving day.
Did anyone go out for Black Friday? I didn't -- I already did my Christmas shopping. :p
I have to straighten up the apartment, God Bless and Mary Keep.
In Him,
Rachel
wilma12 11-25-2005, 05:14 PM Thank you Sunny for the new siggy. I love it!
DH and I got some more shopping done today. It was really nice to have a day together like that. It's been a great week off work. I don't know if I'll be ready to go back on Monday or not.
Tomorrow I'll be doing some cleaning and baking. I still have to find a sweater for our staff Christmas party next weekend so I might get out and do that too.
Tonight DH and I are going to go see Walk the Line. It looks really good so I'm looking forward to it.
Have a great weekend!
beth1167 11-25-2005, 11:36 PM Greetings everyone. Hope everyone had a pleasant thanksgiving and EZ hope yours tomorrow is a happy one.
Well, I am proud of myself. I ate reasonably - enough to be happy about, but not too much to be miserable. You know that miserable feeling when you feel like you are going to pop and you have to just sit there for a while until it is safe to get up. Ha, Ha. That was the old me.
Oh....the girls and I went to see Pride and Prejudice. Definately a chick flick. There were only 3 guys in the whole theatre and I am sure that it was for their wives/girlfriends. Anyway, it is awesome and if you are into the Jane Austen books/movies then you can't miss it.
bye for now.
scarlett_in_CT 11-26-2005, 10:49 AM Hi everyone, this is my first time posting and would like to join a Christian based community. I am trying to walk in the spirit to lead me in my eating habits. Any tips from anyone who has conquered fleshly eating habits?
EZMONEY 11-26-2005, 01:14 PM HI GALS:wave:
Well today is our Thanksgiving. Angie made one turkey yesterday and has another one to go in later today along with a spiral ham from Costco (SO GOOD!)...I have scalloped potatoes going in the crock-pot (never made them that way before but we need the room and time so I tried this) I also have a billion potatoes peeled and under water ready for cooking and mashing later.
We took some pictures of the flowers :o aaawwww:o :hug:, that I sent Angie for Thanksgiving, with the new digital...I will see if they turned out and try to get them posted later.
I finished all the touch-up on the paint yesterday. Angie hung the valances and drapery stuff----looks pretty good...a lot of work but, hey, anytime I am doing things with my wife I am totally happy!!:smug: ...keeps her from :drill: yelling at me :nono: :love: :nono:
SCARLETT :welcome: Glad to have you here. I am not sure what you mean by fleshly eating habits though.
BETH Glad you did well on your Thanksgiving eating. My wife and I love chick flicks--- I would have been one of those guys there ;) We enjoy (most) movies with Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock~~ we also like some of the Jennifer Lopez and Meg Ryan movies. I "do" like the movies, but I found out a long time ago that if I watch them with her, well let's just say the pay-back is worth it ;) . We will probably wait for the P&P to come out on video~~ still trying to get time to see Walking The Line this week-end.
WILMA Did you see Walking The Line yet? As you probably saw, Angie and I are trying to get to it this week-end~~ just so busy. Glad to see "someone" is on top of their shopping!!
RACHEL Great to see you here! So you are done with your shopping too? My goodness girl!:) Plenty of mashed potatoes going around here today for you. My son's friends are coming over early to play bocce ball. Enjoy your clean apartment.
Well here is wishing all the M.I.A.'s a great week-end too! I am listening to the Christmas music being played on the cd's Angie put in before she went on an errand~~~ plenty of Mannheim Steamroller~~~ and of course Charlie Brown Christmas (the cd they are selling at Starbucks)
~~~~~~~~ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR WEEK-END GALS~~~~~~~~
lateralus98 11-26-2005, 01:31 PM :welcome3: scarlett_in_CT! You will find a great group of people who are always willing to pray for you and be there for you when you need it. Also, not sure what you mean by fleshly eating habits.
Wilma -- how was Walk the Line? I really wanted to go see that, just never got around to it (yet). It always feels great to have the holiday shopping all finished! :D
Gary -- hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving with Angie! I can't wait to see the flowers you sent Angie! :love:
Last night I was bad. I had a piece of pumpkin pie and an order of large fries from Mcdonald's :( I'll be okay as long as I stay OP from this point on! :dizzy:
Gotta get ready to go pick up my books from the school bookstore. see y'all later!
In Him,
Rachel
wilma12 11-26-2005, 01:49 PM DH and I tried to get to see Walk the Line last night. Unfortunately it was sold out so it must be good! We saw "Yours, Mine and Ours" instead. It was a great family show. We weren't disappointed. We will try to see Walk the Line soon. It got really great reviews.
Scarlett: Welcome! I hope you find the support here that you need. We listen to each other and pray for each other here. I wouldn't have lost all the weight I have if it wasn't for these wonderful people.
Lateralus: It's okay to indulge once in a while - just so you get OP again right away. You're doing great!!
Gary: Sounds like you'll be having a houseful. I love that! I'm already looking forward to Christmas. We have both sides of the family to meet with so we'll be busy. Let's see those pictures - you big romantic!!
Beth: I remember that feeling very well. Isn't it great that we can enjoy our food and not over indulge. We've come a long way! I haven't seen Pride and Prejudice yet. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.
I am making my famous Orange Buns as a beginning to my Christmas baking so I better get moving on those.
Have a great day!
Mitchypoo 11-26-2005, 02:08 PM :welcome3: Scarlett! Please come back soon and post often.
EZMONEY 11-26-2005, 04:33 PM It's Angie here-
Below are pics of the photo art we purchased at the Carlsbad Street Faire and the flowers Gary sent me for Thanksgiving.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/amzm7/pic.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/amzm7/flowers.jpg
Mitchypoo 11-26-2005, 05:20 PM Hi Angie! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Aw, that Gary is something else! Tough on the outside but a real softie huh?! ;) The flowers are gorgeous! And the pic is cool too!
EZMONEY 11-27-2005, 01:45 PM HI GALS:wave:
Well our Thanksgiving went well yesterday. We ended up with 23 people, most came for bocce ball, happy hour, and dinner...a few came later from work. We started at 3 and ended about 11 when the fire pit ran out of wood...Angie bought one of those little fire pits from Target yesterday...we try to keep my son and his friends outside :lol: if at all possible :yes: . It was chilly here last night.....brrrr.....in the 50's....brrrr..;) So she didn't want them to be too cold in their shorts and short sleeved shirts! My daughter's boyfriend "tried" to help by bringing a portable heater...he couldn't get it to work of course...what a :yes: :nono: :D LOOOSER:D :nono: :yes: so my brother had to get it going.
We ended up with quite a bit of leftovers since Angie cooked two turkeys and a ham and most people brought something since it was pot-luck...good for me since I didn't eat too much yesterday ;) oh, I was full all right...got most of my calories out of liquids ;) ...hey, can I help it if the friends of my son came through~~~FINALLY~~~ with what they were supposed to bring...beer and dessert:carrot:
Angie and my sister in law had to leave for a little while, and play bells at church for Saturday night service, but my ex-wife came through with flying colors as assistant host as usual:hug: :no: :nono: :no: ...Nah, seriously Angie is never jealous of her! She is just part of our family. In fact I even drew her dad's name for our Christmas Eve gift exchange...my ex, her sister and parents spend that evening at our house.
Well, we "skipped" out on church today....not good....
Off to get the mutts some new food...they really seem to be itching a lot..
Later, Gary
pixiefalls 11-27-2005, 03:48 PM Hello everyone! I know it's been a bit but since Thanksgiving was this week and I had the time off I've been around family and friends a bunch:). I did pretty well with eating.. though we still have leftovers so I better watch out;)!
Angie -- The picture is beautiful and so are the flowers:).
Scarlett -- Welcome here, it's a great place. Well, I've just slowed down on how much I was eating.. which was way too much! I just started eating better-for-you foods and started walking.. the eating less just came after that!
Hope everyone is doing well.. have a wonderful day :hug:
lessofme821 11-28-2005, 01:50 PM Hi all! I'm new here and new to being vegan. My husband and I both began a vegan lifestyle last week (today is the completion of week one). We felt God calling us to that way of eating; we know its not for everyone. In the first week, I lost 6.5 pounds. I know that is unusual and it will slow down.
I'd like to be a part of this forum for support and accountability and to share Christian encouragement.
Annie
Mitchypoo 11-28-2005, 01:59 PM :welcome: Annie! Please post often and let us know how your diet change is working for you. I use to go vegan during Lent, but it wasn't right for me. I do eat less meat now though because of it.
Lot's to do today. A new week, a new beginning. I've done well so far today being on program. Have to think about just today.
EZMONEY 11-28-2005, 10:24 PM HI GALS:wave:
Where is everyone :dunno:
I just finished hanging "my end" of the outdoor Christmas lights. Angie does the windows from inside the house and all the other decorating. She is going to do some on Wednesday then we were both going to finish on Saturday...except I realized the big USC~UCLA[B] game is on at 1:30 here and not a night game. No way I am missing [B]USC stomp all over UCLA:carrot: :cheer:
MICHELE~Thanks again for the PM and input. I am pretty sure now that the Wellness food was not the problem~~~ I found a couple of small fleas on the mutts yesterday....I have been looking but hadn't seen any until then....they were due for their Frontline...but...they haven't ever had a flea problem...there is rarely a problem when the weather cools here either...and we hate to give it to them because it really makes Rylee sick...but tonight we did...better than their constant itching! Simba will do well on Wellness I believe...we were totally happy with it, Angie said Rylee and Reba's coats seem to do better with the chicken one. They do like the fish and sweet potato one too.
ANNIE~:welcome2: Not gonna join you on the "vegan" diet though ;)
HILARY~ Stay away from the leftovers!!;)
Well~~ off to our "leftovers"....but I did make bean soup for tomorrow night when i got off work today...then wednesday Angie is making turkey soup and that should do it for the leftovers!!! Still eating ham sandwiches for a few more days at work though :eating2: :hungry: and of course the delicios Amaretto cheesecake my daughter made for Thanksgiving~~ I hid it from "the others" (LOST FANS!)
beth1167 11-29-2005, 10:46 AM Sunny - I love the siggy, but I can't get it to work.
beth1167 11-29-2005, 10:55 AM Nevermind, it's working now. Don't what I did differently. Thanks
Hope everyone's doing well.
I have a new incentive now. I just volunteered to serve on the planning committee for my 20 year HS reunion. I have about 9 months to get to where I want to be.
doitforme 11-29-2005, 06:25 PM Been away for awhile busy at work, 1st day off in a week, but things should ease up again as one staff returns from gallbladder surgery. Carole doing much better- released from hospital, home and recieving therapy 3 times aweek now. Still has along road ahead of her though.
Lori- prayers for your friend deb and her family.
Sunny- my baby niece is awesome, she talks on the phone now, and occassionally plays with the buttons and ends up hanging up, but she is too cute, Christmas will be fun, she probably has never seen a Christmas tree.
Welcome to scarlett and annie-
E.Z.- wow! awesome web site, I book marked it too. What pretty flowers! nice pic.
Hi to everyone else mitchy, wilma, margie and all others. I'm going to go help with dinner, then play cards I think, I had like 5 pages to read here, and did my reg. e-mail. Maybe tom I can post some more, gotta do my devotions too, not enough time in a day. The movie I can't wait to see is "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis from the Chronicles of Narnia. It is released on Dec. 9th, it looks awesome. My nieces drama club did it last year, they did a great job with it, Asland the Lion is a good depiction of Christ. Well gotta run, hi to all I missed Glad everyone had a happy turkey day, I worked a douple that day from 8am-12midnight, catch ya later.
mom2fivesweeties 11-29-2005, 11:28 PM Hi Everyone,
The funeral was yesterday and Deb held up as well as to be expected. Dear Dan had at least 30 cars in the procession - God love him - it was SO cold at the cemetery - he was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for Veterans and it was a beautiful military ceremony -
I am so sick with a bladder infection - I'm actually bleeding and it scares me because my lower back is killing me too along with a fever :( Called my MD and they called the pharmacy and we waited until 6:00 and they hadn't filled it yet - then they claimed they never got a call - so I called my cousin the ER doc, and he called the pharmacy immediately - All of a sudden the pharmacy had TWO scripts - imagine that - :o
Just wanted to check in - haven't been keeping up with reading, but I'm praying for all of you just the same - thanks for the prayers for Deb and family - Hope you are all well -
:hug:
doitforme 11-30-2005, 01:04 AM Sorry your so sick Lori! Prayers your soon on the mend, bladder infections are awful, good thing you knew another Dr. to call so you didn't end up waiting another day. Continued prayers for Deb and her family.
Sunny thanks for the new Christmas signature- you are so thoughtfull, I noticed I had a pm, my bear is cute. Well it is 60 degrees out and raining like its springtime they say another cold front is coming in, I hope this rain drys up before that happens! going nighty night its late, just decided to check in before bed. catch ya tom. probably. see ya!
pixiefalls 11-30-2005, 02:02 AM Lori -- hope you feel better soon, prayers for you:).
Gary -- oh, I did! I'm so proud too haha (and I lost!);) mmm cheesecake sounds good..
Annie -- welcome! it's wonderful here:^:. I'm been "acting" rather vegan lately, except a little chicken here and there.. but I can't stay that way forever;).
Everyone have a blessed night and stay warm;)
Mitchypoo 11-30-2005, 02:19 AM Lori, sorry about not feeling well, but i'm so glad you got some medicine b/c you scared me, sounds like you have a kidney infection. And glad your friend did ok during the funeral, i'm sure it was a touching service and he'll be missed. I hope that she will not relate this to the holidays, it's so hard for some people during this time of year. :hugs:
I went to my friends house today with the twins and i'm going tomorrow and thurs. a.m. too. I'm helping her sort and organize and get stuff out of the house for a yard sale at our house this weekend. It's overwhelming for her and i want to help her with it b/c i think she'll feel better when it's gone. It's a lot of hard work for me, but she's my best friend and i'm happy to help her.
Things with Junior are going well! We're going to church together tomorrow!
I got my resume done and sent to one place today. Tomorrow i'll get it out to more places. Things are starting to come together.
wilma12 11-30-2005, 10:06 AM It's back to work for me and I feel like I haven't even left. It is good to get back into a routine after eating and sleeping when I wanted. I was starting to gain a few lbs so it's back to my usual salads at lunch. I still have about 10 lbs to go and it doesn't want to leave.
Michele: Prayers for you on the job search. I think it's great that you're filling your time being there for your friends who need you. It shows what a generous person you are. I'm glad to hear that things with Junior are going well. Did you know him from before or is he a new friend?
mom2fivesweeties: I was so sorry to hear about your friends passing. My prayers are with you and his his wife especially. I can't imagine losing someone that young.
doitforme: Glad to see you posting when you can. Take care of yourself.
Gary: Glad to hear that your Thanksgiving celebration went well. I'd love to have some of your leftovers. I plan on cooking a turkey myself this christmas so I can have some of those leftovers too. My mom is doing Christmas dinner and I'll do a separate one for just our immediate family.
The flowers you gave Angie are really lovely. You are a big romantic aren't you?
Annie: It's so nice to meet you. I hope you post often.
Pixie: Way to go on eating well during the holiday. It's so hard to do that.
Sunny: I know you're out there because I see all the neat siggies. I miss your posts.
Hello to all I didn't get time to address personally. It's off to work for me.
Have a great day!
Margie B. 11-30-2005, 10:29 AM Hi guys, just went in and changed my avatar and want to see if it works :o . . .we'll get back with you later this afternoon. . . also made a new friend on 'The Biggest Loser' thread, :carrot: apparently she's only about 30-45 minutes away and perhaps we can get together for a coffee :coffee2: . . .ain't this site grand???? - Margie
beth1167 11-30-2005, 10:45 AM Lori - goodness girl! Hope you get to feeling much better soon. I agree with Michele, it sounds like it may be more than just an ordinary bladder infection. Take care of yourself.
Also, glad to here that Deb is doing OK and that the funeral went well.
Michele - Good luck with the job hunting. I always hated doing the resume/interview thing. I have gotten 3 jobs in the last 8 years (MN and TX) through agencies. My last 2 were supposed to be short term temp jobs to fill in while they were looking for someone permanant and ended up working full time.
Less of Me - Welcome to the site, like Margie says, it is grand. I have never been so enthused about forums to actually want to stick with it, but since I've discovered 3FC, I check everyday at least once or twice because I can't wait to see how everyone is doing.
Sue - Me too! I can't wait till The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe come out. It looks like another awesome family movie. My kids have read some of the Narnia books, but I haven't.
Margie - Did you watch the Biggest Loser last night? I love watching that show. It is so inspiring. I only wish that I had 24/7 to devote to eating right and exercising too. But, that is what support from family and friends are for. Thanks y'all.
Everyone - have an awesome day.
doitforme 11-30-2005, 02:35 PM Mitchy- Good luck job hunting, you are a talented lady so don't assume you'll have a problem. So nice of you to help out your friend conversation alone can make a day of working go easier. Its always more fun with friends.
Wilma- you've done an awesome job this year, I am sure the last 10 will melt away!
Margie- Hi there! never enough friends, it will be neat if you get a chance to meet her.
Beth-= The chronicles of Narnia are great kids books, I read them along time ago. The graphics look cool in this movie, similar to Lord of Rings, both were Christian authors. I watch NCIS when the biggest loser is on, but like that series too.
Hi there pixiefalls- I have to second that, cheesecake sounds yummy- Hi to everyone else. EZ,Sunny, Lori, ECt.....
I helped put tree up today at friends house (prelight) so just had to put it together and plug it in, decorate the rest later this week. Youth group tonight- Christmas play practice, gotta get busy on those outfits procrastinating, something I don't usually do!
EZMONEY 11-30-2005, 08:27 PM HI GALS:wave:
What did you all think of Biggest Loooooooooooser? I was so impressed by almost all of their losses! As far as the winner...kinda was pulling for Seth~~ but ya gotta give Matt credit~~ the biggest % of all of them!!
Angie is making turkey soup tonight for dinner so I have a few minutes to spare here. My ham and bean soup was a :bomb: big hit :bomb: last night~~ but Angie almost :faint: from the fall-out :lol:
AUNT SUE~ So glad to hear from you. Have you bought the little one tons of stuff yet? She should really like the "boxes' this year;) ..those little ones really love the paper, bows and boxes. I have a friend at church that is a huge C.S. Lewis fan~~ looking forward to the movie here too. Have fun with the rest of the decorating. Now :coach: :drill: get after those costumes! :coach: :drill:
MARGIE~ Super! With the new friend~~ I have been over there a little~~ that sneaky LORI has too;) How is the kiddo's Nutcracker going?
WILMA~Nah! I am not that romantic...however...I am not a total dufus either;) Salads can get boring can't they? I usually throw some deli lean meat in mine for some extra flavor when I am taking them to work. How is the big guy doing with his asthma?
MICHELE~ Good luck with the job hunting! Plenty of work here...but..oh my! the cost of living!! As you well know!!
BETH~:coach: :coach: :drill: NINE MONTHS!!~~HOLY MOLY~~SOME PEOPLE CAN HAVE BABIES IN THAT LENGTH OF TIME~~ YOU CAN EASILY ;) GET BACK TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL SHAPE!! :coach: :drill: Well, maybe not "easily"...but hey, with all of us here pulling and PUSHING you it can be done~~:drill: Now get away from the computer and start walking!! ;)
PIXIEFALLS~ OK Hilary~ How do you act "vegan"? Is that like acting a little nutty?:spin:
LORI~ SO SORRY TO HEAR YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL~~ PRAYERS~PRAYERS~PRAYERS!! FOR YOUR HEALING!! Glad to hear the funeral went well (as well as they can I suppose). continued prayers for all of the family and friends as the healing process continues. Did Abbi ever get any of the post cards we sent? She certainly should have by now. How did the "Thanksgiving" situation turn out?
The Biggest Loser finale was so awesome!! I've been so inspired by them and I was routing for all of them. They all looked amazing and they were so happy.. who could sustain a smile at that?! :carrot:
Gary -- haha well, I've been M.I.A. with meat lately.. even today.. ate no meat *shrugs* I really haven't been craving it. Is that weird;)?
Sue -- Doesn't it though? That's what has been stuck in my mind since I saw it:lol:.
Everyone -- never give up on what you most want! I'm 19 pounds down since the date in my sig.. it's amazing the transformations, let's keep it up.
I love the holidays! :gift2:
Mitchypoo 12-01-2005, 02:44 AM Junior and me went to church tonight! The Lord is working in our lives! Have a big date with him tomorrow.
Today i did grocery shopping for my friend and cooked. I made a potroast with mushrooms, onion, carrot and potato and some broccoli and cauliflower salad and chicken breasts with cream sauce. Her hubby was happy!
scarlett_in_CT 12-01-2005, 07:26 AM Thank you all so much for your responses and support. What I meant by eating in the flesh, is that I'm listening to "me" about what and when I should eat, instead of praying and listening to the Holy Spirit about what I should be doing. I think if I can listen more to God and have Him guide me, then I know the choices and the time of when I eat will be the right path. Make sense? Just easier said then done.
I am involved in a prison ministry and while I was there last night, I found a passage about fasting that was really interesting in Isaiah 58:6: Rather is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke?
Food/carbs are definitely my oppression!
Lori: my prayers are with you!
doitforme 12-01-2005, 10:17 AM E.Z.- Our little niece is already attacking the tree- they put it up weekend following Thanksgiving and she takes ornaments down and is unwrapping things, so should be interesting.. Her sister left her homework by her bookbag and Kaylee ripped it so she had to re-write it again, Can't wait till she is fully mobile then she'll keep them busy. I have got her several things debating on rocking horse as its $60. but it rocks automatically, which is cool... She already likes boxes, and pots and pans ect... She is doing so well. will have to post her Christmas pic when I get it. Thanks for the push on costumes gotta get busy there.
Hillary- love cheesecake, I have thought about it since you brought it up and I as well love the holidays- they go so fast though, I like baking, and doing special gifts for people and all the decorating and lights ect. the season goes to quickly and I must admit spend to much of it involved with something other than our blessed savior... Hi to all Mia's see ya
EZMONEY 12-01-2005, 07:20 PM HI GALS:wave:
Well, I had a short day at work today, then went to the grocery store and produce market. I have stuffed cabbage cooking in the oven for dinner. Gonna visit here for a few then off to the pantry in the garage~~ it sure needs some organization! Angie and I "slung" stuff around over Thanksgiving...well, probably "me" doing the slingin';) I found out that if I can't find something and just start "slingin'" stuff that I feel better;) Of course I just make more of a mess...so...off to the garage I go!!
What about LOSTladies? Getting stranger by the week!!! I'm staying away from computers...just in case:lol:
GRAPHICGODDESS~Is that really you?;) :hug: Oh, and pay some bills for me too:D
AUNT SUEActually~~I~~brought up the cheesecake first...my daughter made some for Thanksgiving for Angie and I...Amaretto...so you can blame all the extra calories on me!!;) Ya know, Kaylee...don'tcha just love the second part of her name?....LEE...just like MY middle name~ thank-you!!;) I tell you though girl~~that kid is trouble!! OH YEA!!~~getting into the Christmas tree and homework~~sounds exactly like REBA and RYLEE...bad~bad~NEWS!!!:love: :yes: :love:
SCARLETT~ Now I understand the fleshly thing...thanks for the info. My daughter's :barf: :barf: boyfriend :barf: :barf: and his family don't eat meat...well, he does, a little...every now and then some chicken or chicken nuggets and of course IN~N~OUT BURGERS...(need a California connection to understand that one).
MICHELE~ Potroast AND chicken breasts? That's it~ I'm coming for dinner...you KNOW that I can be there in less than 3 hours;)
HILARY~ Great job on the 19 pounds!! You are the BIGGEST LOOOOSER here today!! If you saw the post above to Scarlett...the reason my daughter's :barf: :barf: boyfriend's :barf: :barf: mom doesn't eat meat, it is because she can't stand the texture in her mouth....her parents are meat eaters...maybe one day you will fell the same way.I had a friend years ago that went vegetarian...several years later when he tried to eat meat again he got very ill...maybe there is something to it?...anyway, he worked his way back.
Well off to organizing the garage food pantry!!
wilma12 12-02-2005, 10:04 AM One more day of work and then it's the weekend!! We are going to spend all day Sunday with my mom. She had surgery on Monday on her foot and she's laid up for a couple of weeks. I plan to cook up some meals for her and do a bit of baking. She lives almost 2 hours away so I can't do a whole lot for her but spending the day with her will give others a break.
Gary: I also tried to keep up with "The Biggest Loser". I was really impressed with how great they looked. I didn't even recognize one of them on the final show. He was the one who had been sent home and then came back to win money. I can't remember his name. These people lost a lot of weight but then they worked out 8 hours a day!
As far as DS's asthma issue - we still haven't heard from the specialist. Up here in Canada we have free medicare but the waiting time is ridiculous. Hopefully we will hear soon. It's been 2 months now. DS's doc said it never takes this long. I think DR will end up sending him for allergy tests too just to rule out an possibilities there.
Sunny: Looking forward to your post. You must be incredibly busy these days. Is everything going okay?
doitforme: Little ones are so cute at Christmas. Their curiosity is so cute. Frustrating sometimes but cute. You are going to have so much fun with her.
Pixie: You have been doing awesome with your weightloss.:carrot: :carrot: Keep up the great work! Are people starting to notice?
Michele: Yum! You could come cook for me anytime. so glad to hear that you and Junior are hitting it off so well.
Hello to all I missed and to those MIA.
Have a great day!
sprout 12-02-2005, 05:43 PM Been trying to keep up with all the posts but am sure I have missed many.
Been awhile since I have posted - busy with homeschooling my 16 year old daughter (she has Down Syndrome) and with worrying about our new grandson and his heart surgery.
But grandson is doing fine now - home from children's hospital and gaining weight!!
Our son - that is another story - instead of getting better it seems to be getting worse for him - all I can do at this time is pray for him as he just shuts the door with respect to having any 'family help' - really sad to have to stand back and watch such a beauitful young person walk down the wrong path - only a couple of steps of the correct path - but still the wrong path. Making too many bad choices and not wanting to listen to anyone who could 'guide / help' him.
Weight wise: No change at all. Still really struggling. Have so very much to lose but seem to be stuck on the same 5 pounds. But Lord willing this being a new month with a new start - I will start to see some positive changes and feel better.
Walking: That had all gone by the wayside - got up to 990 miles and then fell ill and had not walked since. Yesterday being December 1 we ( hubby and me) decided it was time to start walking again - no excuses. Before having the relapse of cancer I was walking as much as 2 miles a day - this is 14 laps at our Rec Plex. Yesterday we went for our walk and I found I could only do 1 lap - so I am back to the beginning. Today we went - after another doc appointment - and I made myself do 2 laps - this give me 1/4 mile:carrot: As hubby is off for the month of December for holidays we are going to go every day - even Sunday's in order for me to get my strength back up. Then for Jan through March we will walk on his days off - and in April he will be on holidays again (April 11) and will be on them till end of May and June 1 he retires. So we will be walking every day as of April 11 - so am wanting to work myself back up to 2 - 3 miles each day.
Also I have some CD's that have Scripture on them - put to music - and if you walk through the whole CD you will have walked 50 minutes - so will be using those at home - putting them on in the computer room after sitting at the computer for 1/2 hour - making me get up and walk in place for even just 10 minutes. Every little bit helps.
Have most of my shopping done for Christmas - all the grandchildren bought for as well as our son and daugther (our two older daughters we just buy for the grandchildren as family is getting rather big). Figure Skating 'Celebration on Ice' is coming her in March 2006 so hubby bought very good seats yesterday ($50 a ticket) so that the three of us can go - I had mentioned to him that could be a Christmas give. Also am going to be purchasing a very good stationary bike and a gazelle (Tony Little one) from a friend. She has not been able to use it do to medical problems so we are going to get both of these barely used machines for $300.00 and she is then going to throw in a double bed (they are moving and down sizing). So that is going to be my Christmas (the bed we are going to put up in Priscilla's room - she has a twin - and put the twin downstairs in hubbies computer room in for when he comes home late from work or when I disturb him due to 'snoring' he will have a place to go to. Not that I snore :o
Anyway that is about all for now - am working on 10 pounds to be off as soon as possible - and believe with the walking and watching the protions this hopefully will be off very soon.
Mitchypoo 12-02-2005, 08:30 PM Gary~you and Angie are welcome anytime! Tonight I'm making Shrimp Fettucine with a white wine garlic and shallot cream sauce...and tomorrow i'm cooking for Junior. We're going to cook together but i made him hungry for pot roast w/mushrooms and he's making the taters, and i'm making him homemade tortillas and i'm going to make him eat a vegetable or salad. Sorry about all the food talk... Seems the holidays are food related for us at my house.
Can you believe Christmas is 23 days away? Ya, it's giving me anxiety too.
Marilyn, sorry for the continued problems with DS. Pray. I'll keep you all in prayer, but sometimes, that's all you can do.
Wilma, thanks for the well wishes. I'm surprised still how well Junior and I get along. Not that we haven't had our ups and downs....already. I forgot how hard it is sometimes to have a relationship. But i'm thankful.
Hello to all and :hug: Prayers for you all too.
Thank you, Gary! I'm down 20 as of today;). Wow, I never thought of it until now since you said that. I have been noticing the texture of meat lately but I still like the taste of it except I have never really liked steak because of it's texture and taste.. really doesn't appeal to me *shrugs* we're all different in our own special ways;)
Wilma -- (I'm still craving that cheesecake. I saw some at the store today and almost grabbed some:p..hehe) Thank you:D, yes! They have started to notice.. it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. I'm down from a size 22 to an 18 and *those* are starting to get loose, it's all coming at me so fast:dizzy:!
SunnyD -- they are goregous, I love'em! You're a sweetie :hug:
Mitchypoo 12-03-2005, 02:53 AM Wow Hilary, kudos to you!! That is really something! Keep it up! I bet you feel great that people are starting to notice!
scarlett_in_CT 12-03-2005, 10:04 AM Hilary, that is incredible news congratulations on that weight loss! The hard part is always getting started and having the motivation. I'm sure that 20 lbs is definitely noticable. We went to Mexican last night, but we skipped the fried icecream! That's progress in my book :)
wilma12 12-03-2005, 10:51 AM Pixie: It does feel great doesn't it? We went to visit friends where we used to live and I hadn't seen some of the people there for 3 years. I have lost 30 lbs since moving and the comments I got made me feel really great. Better yet it the shopping and the energy. Feels so GOOD!
mom2fivesweeties 12-03-2005, 10:18 PM LOL, GARY~ I'm happy for you! :)
Sorry I've been MIA for so long - I just don't feel like doing much - my kidney infection is better, but my cousin put me on Cipro and it has me dizzy, tired and MEANER than ever! The kids have been giving me a wide berth!
Deb just left after visiting today - she's hanging in there - one good thing is that the minister that spoke at the funeral on Monday invited her to his church and I think she is going tomorrow - Deb and Dan didn't go to church as she is Catholic and he was Methodist - the church she is going to tomorrow is Methodist - so please pray she gets a lot out of it and finds some supportive Christian people to help her through -
MICHELE - That's great about Junior - I know you are having a great time!
:welcome3: to all you new ladies! You will LOVE it here!
Thanks so much to all of you for praying for Deb and myself during my kidney infection - I'm on the mend!!
Have a great Lord's Day tomorrow!
:hug: to all of you!!!
pixiefalls 12-04-2005, 02:25 PM Wow Hilary, kudos to you!! That is really something! Keep it up! I bet you feel great that people are starting to notice!
