Hello everyone! I posted this on another thread, but I thought it was worth a shot here as well! Does anyone have a lower fat recipe or alternative that is similar to Puppy Chow? I LOVE Puppy Chow, but with all the chocolate and peanut butter it is pretty high in points.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, I hope this recipe for puppy chow helps you out. The bad thing about it is that it makes a lot of it.

Puppy Chow

9 cups of chex cereal (any variety)
1 package (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips(1 cup)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup light margarine(not spread kind)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Measure cereal into large bowl; set aside. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in 1 quart microwavable bowl uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated. Pour cereal mixture into a large plastic food-storage bag; add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Makes 9 cups
1/2 cup=210 calories; 9 grams of fat; 1 gram of fiber
5 points
