Hi guys...(gals).

Hope you are all doing better than me! I spent 1/2 day in the park with my daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren in 90+ degree weather...not a very pleasant experience!!! Then we went to Burger King to eat and the kids played there, too. Then home and gave Ross and Jenna both a bath and took a shower and crashed for the rest of the evening! It will take me the rest of the week to get over today!!! Don't you just hate that about the fibro? (I hate EVERYTHING about the fibro!)

I am hurting sooooo bad. Called the Rheumatologist today to set my app. up (not until last of Aug.) but they didn't call me back. Hope I can get it sooner. I need to see him (or...he needs to see me!) All I want to do is sit (or lay)...which ever one I can do comfortably...and sometimes that is neither! Been reading and watching a lot of movies the last couple of weeks.

Sorry I can't remember what everyone said on the last thread...I DID read it! Just can't remember!

I did remember Ally's boys fighting. Don't know what's worse...when the little ones fight or when they grow into teens and are STILL fighting!!!

I enjoyed all the flowers on the other thread but everything was getting to tedious to load...even with a cable modem! Candice you must have some green thumb on you! Better not get arthritis in it like I have in mine...might affect your flowers!

Have a good tomorrow everyone!

I can't go to water exercise because I have to let my muscles recover from my long walk yesterday. But we had a good time. I have a problem with my index finger 0n my right hand. Tried doing needlepoint with my left and it wasn't too bad. What a storm we had last night-hit the power lines across the street and startesd a fire in the ground. No electricity for a couple of hours but I found out one of the benefits of living in a condo. Not only are lights on in the hall from a generator but you can get together at someone's apt. to pass the time. One of the womwn said that you have to have something physically wrong with you to live here. I guess I can stay. The woman across the hall has aplastic anemia which is eventually fatal. She is in remission.I guess its true about trading fo someone else's burden. You wouldn't.
Waiting for my friend to call-she had her gallbladder out so I said I'd go over today. Stay cool.Mima

Mima...We are having storms in NY state too, but I won;t be going to any neighbors should the lights go out.
Thanks to my obnoxious kids, no on ein the neighborhood ever looks me in the eye!!
Meme....I'm achy too. And PMS. Someone sent me all the possible meanings of PMS today. My favorite was Pass My Sweatpants.
Ohhhh. I have my fat pants on today and my stomach feels like I am 9 months pregnant.
That couldn't be the Little Debbie Donuts already?????
My kids are being nice because they want something, and they aren't going to get it....but I will take the peace and quiet for as long as I can.

Ally...didn't know you were gay...pregnated by Little Debbie!!!

Where is everybody?

Does anybody else break out from too much sun? I'm about to itch to death from my "fun in the sun" yesterday!

Mima
06-22-2001, 08:19 AM
Hey Meme-When I was in my 20's-a very long time ago=I got that rash from the sun and I would get an anti-histamine shot when I went to the beach but when it wore off-I went nuts!!!!Now I cannot go into the sun in the middle of the day .I wear sunscreen but that doesn't help totally. Also-medications can be a factor.
Hey-I was down 2 lbs. yesterday.Hope it stays off. Still feeling achy-can't eat what I'm allergic too for a while. It's gloomy here today.I'm going to wrap some things up because I'm going to WORK on Monday, for 8 days, coming home for the weekend in between.I don't know if I'll take my laptop-I don't think I will have a local access number.Have a great day everyone!!! Ally, it is going to be a loooooong summer for you. I am sure glad that I am over raising those young ones. Would really not want the job again, at least full time. I have never heard of Little Debbie Donuts, but I am sure they are like Tim Hortons as far as calories go. I swear donuts bloat me. I eat very few of them for that reason. I feel like I actually swell up. Donuts, beer and pancakes do that to me as well. Just put on your sweats and do what you have to do.

Meme - to bad you are having so much pain. So many people wish for money or more material things. People with chronic pain, wish to a painfree day. At least the money and material goods are attainable. It appears that the painfree day, isn't - for most of us. Just even a tolerable amount of pain would be acceptable.
I was just talking to a friend of mine who was diagnosed with FM a couple of years ago. Now the Dr., says it isn't FM, it is Lupus. She can't go out into the sun, or she breaks out in a rash. The type of Lupus she has, has to do with her skin. I don't understand it, but I guess it is painful as well, just like FM. The stiffness and soreness.

Mima -Congratulations on the weight loss. That is wonderful. My daughter told me last night, she has now lost 62.5 pounds. She is nearing the end of her weightloss journey and will be starting the harder journey or keeping it off. She has done so well, and she feels so good. Sorry to hear that you are having to much pain as well. Sure keeps you from enjoying what you want to do!

Tootie - Hello. If you see this, send me an e-mail. I will then know that you are able to read at least.

Well ladies, have a great day.

She started a new thread! Wow..that's a first!

I get a rash too from the sun..the itch drives me crazy..at one time they thought I had lupus but it wasLYME DISEASE..... tha's no fun either..it is what brought my Fibro on.

Anne..your daughter should be so happy and feel so much better..I do..and I am worried about keeping it off so I am still eating at the losing points!

Mima..Congrats on the loss! So what kind of buliding are you in?

Ally..are you having a boy or a a girl? All that sugar can bloat you did ya know that? Hard on the colon! So Little Debbie is your new bea......HUmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (your substitution for Sex maybe! :p Wish your kids would give you a break from fighting..you need to relax girl!

Hi Tootie and Joanne!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I had my massage and it felt pretty good but then I went shopping which I hate to do and it totally wore me out but I got a lot of stuff, fleas stuff for the animals , more flowers, which I don't need but they were cheap and I can't pass on flowers, they were the salmon geraniums. I put in clay pots for my proch ..and groceries and the Hallmark shop had a big sale going on so of course I went there!

My pansies hanging at the back door:)

Sorry you all aren't feeling so well..my elbow is acting up agian so I'm getting another shot but couldn't get in untill mid July!

MemeToo

They thought I had Lupus at one time...But I'm sure the sun allergy is from the gold shots, that is one of the many side effects. They also thought I had polymyalgia rheumatica at one time...I don't think they still know for sure what all I have wrong with me. They say Carpal Tunnel, tendinitis, Fibro, Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis along with spastic colon, migraine and PAT (changes in the peripheral arterial tone). How can somebody have so much wrong with them yet not be about to die???

I'm getting my massage tomorrow at one...I'll probably be so sore Sunday I won't want to move! I called the Rheumatologist and got my app. set up from last of Aug. to July 9. I doubt it does any good though...he probably won't do anything to help...hasn't in several years now! At least maybe he will give me some more pain pills...I'm about out. I had my wrist brace on in the car today and baby granddaughter was up front with me. She took my hand and layed it over on her car seat and said "Meme hand hurt"? I said yes, Meme's hand hurts. She leaned down and said, "Me kiss Meme hand". Wasn't that sweet?

Candicej
06-23-2001, 06:17 AM
Will she kiss my bum elbow!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't have any little ones around to be nice to me!

Glad you got into the doc Meme! Don't get addicted to those pain meds! Enjoy your massage and the pain will go away in a few days and you will feel better!

It was so great reading all the messages. Now I can't remember who wrote what to reply!!!!!!!!DUH!I went to my singles group last night and an old friend said he had been trying to get in touch with me.He disappeared last time I went out but everything is purely platonic. And that feels safe. And I disappear every once in a while because I keep traveling.
Last summer I sold my 8 room house because all my money was going into it and I couldn't keep up with it-I also had a pool. Now I live in a brick building that was converted into condos. I was able to pay cash and I am finally mortgage free. I have 4 rooms and I can clean the whole thing in an hour if I ever wanted to do that. Only when company comes.I do have a famly overhead with heavy footsteps but very nice.It was a good move. And my kids had to get their own place. And the dog left too.It is a real adjustment and I miss my flowers. Haven't had much luck with them on my balcony.Ally-someday you will look back on this and will not believe how you survived. I had good friends and a support group and now my son tuned out to be the best kid-this was after running away from home, getting arrested, dopping out of high school in hes senior year.He ended up getting his GEd and finally going to college. He now has a degree in engineering technology and has a great job.Don't give up but set boundaries.Boy,am I on a soapbox!!!hAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE. MIMA

Bless YOur Heart Mima. That is the stuff I need to hear. I post on one other site and when I say something about my kids fighting usually one of the other women report back with a story equally challenging. But a MAN posted that I should call the police. Now he is miffed because I told him that I was just venting, not really asking for him to tell me what to do.
MEN. I tell you. He is the only man on this site, and a woman left after stating that the goal of the site seems to be to soothe his ego. I think this is true of most men. Unless the site is there for their comfort, why would they be on it?
Maybe I'm wrong. I dont know about men on other sites. Happy, I haven't read Clouds lately. Are there men there? Maybe fibro men actually have some compassion.
ANd Little Debbie.......well, Anne. They are a cheaper version of Hostess and just full of cr-ap.
I am achy both cause of NY rain, and cause of too much sugar. But it is soooooooo addictive.
Next week, I am cleaning things up a bit although I am still doing the fiber. I just started sneaking sugar in there and that has to stop.

Happy Canuk
06-23-2001, 02:27 PM
Ally, I KNOW about the sneaking in stuff syndrome. It is like FM, has no real reason to happen, it just does. Isn't that what everyone tells us about FM?

The great news is, that since I started these Upper Cervical treatments, I am sleeping so much better. I took only one Elavil on Tuesday and have had none the rest of the week. Just one all week. It feels good to wake up naturally, and I have been having good quality sleep. Nice and deep. Never even heard the storm last night. That alone, is worth it's weight in gold - not to have to rely on meds to help. Also, the fibro pain is a lot less, no pain in my shoulders, neck or arms (after 1st treatment that went away). I am not saying I am completely pain free, because the arthritis in my back is still bugging my, but a whole lot less. The best it has been in the past 6 yrs. anyway. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE ARE EVEN HAVING RAIN TODAY, AND I SHOULD FEEL TERRIBLE!!!!!! Sure hope this continues - the Chiro says it takes 4-6 weeks to stabalize the top 2 vertebra, and I have only been going for 11/2 weeks, so I still have a ways to go. Anyway, I am so pleased with the results.

Now on to something else that sounds ridiculous, but it really works. To bad you can only buy it in Canada yet, and only in
Western Canada - only 15 miles from where I live. It is called Sprouting Health(Triticum Aestivum) Ingredients are Organic Wheat, 22% USP Grain Alcohol. It is a spray. You just mist it onto your skin, and within a few minutes the pain just disappears. I have been using it on my lower back, an on my neck after the chiro treatment, and I have not even had a headache. Usually, when someone fools around with my neck it causes me to have a headache, but this treatment, because there is not twisting, leaves my neck tender but not uncomfortable. I spray this on, and it actually works. Both my husband and I have had great results with this. You can go read about it at www.sproutinghealth.com Maybe you can get it in the US - It is certainly worth a try. I used it on my arms before I started going to the chiro and it takes away the pain. I guess since the skin is the biggest organ we have, it absorbs the nutrients and feeds the area and that is why it helps. Makes sense if you think about it.

Mima and Meme and Candice - sorry you gals are hurting so bad. Meme, it is wonderful what a baby can say to help with some of the pain, even for a few minutes. They are so very special.

Have a good weekend ladies.

Hi Joanne and Phyllis.

I got my massage...was wonderful!!! Came home and layed down and went to sleep and slept three whole hours...now I can't sleep tonight!!! It is 2:30 and I haven't even been to bed. Tomorrow will be a loooooong day!

I'm going to have my Rheumatolotist refer me to a Physical Therapist here that is a provider for my Insurance...that way they will pay all but $20 for me to go once a week and have some of the kinks worked out of my neck and shoulders. I used to go to this same Therapist years ago...3 times a week...and it helped. I finally stopped going because it only felt good as long as I was going...if I missed even one time I started back hurting again and I said then I couldn't continue going 3 times a week for the rest of my life. I think if I could just go once a week now that it would help a lot! I'm also going to try to get back in and get a massage at the place I went to today at least once or twice a month. She said my muscles were so tight and hard they were "breakable"!

Well...I'm going to at least lay down and see if I can doze a little before time to get up and start again! Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

I MISS PHYLLIS!!!

Hi everyone!Happy-I'm so glad that treatment is working. If I don't get relief soon,I'm going to explore finding a chiro near herethat does that.I think swimming helps me and I get a chance to do that for the next 2 weeks at the hotel where I work . What a job!!!I have the pain back in my ribs that goes from the front to the back on the left side. It doesn' feel like muscle. I'm going to ask about acupuncture tomorrow. I started that pain last year when I was moving and doing way too much physical work.
Gotta get ready for church. Have a great day everyone. Mima

Happy....That spray sounds interesting. Does it work on muscles, or just arthritic kinds of joint pain?
One more day of sugar....this is the last.
I went to the Freihoffer bread outlet and they had these brownies with big chunks of chocolate on them. I have eaten 2. Only six in a box.
I think I will end the whole sugar binge with a pint of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food.......(anybody know what that is???)
and I am so sorry for talking sugar.
'It really does get right down into your soul.
ANd I have to take some aspirin.

Well-I just had an icecream sundae with fat free yogurt-used up a bunch of points plus on that one.Has any heard of the fibro tratment with guaifesenin-an expectorant in cough syrup. I bought a fibromyalgia book today and it is an experimental treatment. The funny thing is that I used to take a decongestant prescription that they took off the market because of that other ingredient that causes strokes. I may try this-its supposed to take the poisons out of your muscles.Good evening to all!!1

Just a cute little fellow I found on the net.http://www.castlemountains.com/postcards/eunifun/marchfriendbug.shtml Hope you enjoy him.

Went to the Chiro. this morning and the great news was that the last treatment is holding, so he didn't have to do anything. Will only do a treatment if it has to be done. Gives it a much better change to heal if he just is able to leave it. I feel pretty good, even though we have having such a rainy June. Didn't have any moisture last fall, during the winter or in the spring, so this is needed, but gee, a WHOLE month of it!!. Supposed to be cloudy and showery all week. I hope the weekend is nice, as July 1st is Canada Day and it is a long weekend, so some nice sunshine would really help. I think we are going to go to the mountains this weekend if it does stop a bit.

Joanne - glad to have you back. This eating is such a pain. If you enjoy yourself you are going to pay (lol) As Meme says, all we get to eat are leaves. Anyway it is nice to know that you really enjoyed yourself after all, that is the main thing.

Ally - have TWO brownies for me. I love them. That spray works really well for any pain. I have been using it on my knee and the pain is going away. If I press on my knee if hurts, but just generally it feels better.

Mima - Acupuncture might help. Have you had it before? I haven't tried it for fm but did do it for 12 sessions on my lower back.

Meme and Canadice - are you BOTH to tired to talk to us? Gosh I hope not, and I hope you are both OUT of pain, or at least a tolerable amount is in place. Meme, are you doing ok?

Phyllis, if you see us, Hello. Hope you are doing good.

Now, I was watching TV, kind of flipping around to see what I could find, when I came upon the PBS station in Spokane. A Dr. Edward Taub was speaking about his program called Balance your body, Balance your health. I was really impressed with this. You can go to his website at www.drtaub.com and read about his program. He has a food energy ladder that really might interest you, Ally. Also, he has a wonderful meditation that he did for the audience and I also tired it. It was great. If anyone is interested in learning it, I will put it up here for you. It really works, and you feel really calm after you do it. It is really simple. Also, he had a one day prescription for wellness. That is something I plan to try soon.

I have not tried Guaifesenin. I had a really bad reaction to a bronchial presciption cough suryp with a lot of this stuff in it. Some of the people with fm take it - I can try find some info. for you if you like.

Anyway ladies, hope you all have a great day.

Had some acupuncture today along with lots of other things. One hour but I feel pretty good. Lost a lb. at WW-now 5. Slow but steady. I think it was really 2 but fluid-haha. Always a reason. Well...I have an app. with a Chiropractor tomorrow at 4:30...I've printed out the info. from the Uppercervical Procedure website and I'm going to ask him if he knows anything about it. I told them over the phone that I only wanted to come once a week and have the "knots" worked out of my shoulders and back and they seemed ok with that. I don't want my joints popped and I don't want them jerking me around either! I always feel worse when they do that. I just want the Neuromuscular Massage done...I just hope the Dr. is ok with that!!! They said they had a lot of fibro. patients so maybe they can help me! There is a Dr. here that has a lot of fibro patients as well and everybody says he is great. My D-I-L has been to him and she said he worked on her neck and upper back and she is feeling better (she also has fibro but it doesn't bother her all the time). I talked to them today and they are going apply to get in my Ins. group. If they can do that I'm going to change Drs. The one I have now isn't on my Ins. plan anyway and he doesn't have a clue about fibro or arthritis...about all he is good for is flu and to prescribe my meds. (and send me to specialists!!!) I'm tired of fooling around with this mess...it is time I took matters into my own hands because the Drs. are not going to do anythingl unless I PUSH!!! I also have an app. with the Rheumatologist in Nashville the 9th and I'm going to talk to him about Remicade. I'm already on Methotrexate (8 a week) so I know I'm a candidate for it as that is a prerequisite. I already have 4 days in July that I toldl my daughter I wasn't going to be able to keep the kids. I'm really tired and I need to start looking out for ME!!! I set up an app. at the Chiros for tomorrow at 4:30 and then AFTER I made the app. I called my hubby at work and told him he HAD to be home by 4 to watch the kids. I have put other people and their needs before my own all my life but I'm about to the point where I can't go anymore...can't do my housework like I used to...can't teach or play piano like I once did...and I'm tired of always being in pain. I need a pain free, stress free day once in a while anyway!

OK...I'm through now! :^:

This article on FM is kind of interesting. It starts on page 2, because it is where I found the info., regarding Upper Cervical Procedure. Scroll down until you come to Chiropractors and you can read about it, as well, there are links to various other sites re: same. The article itself was quite interesting and there are other pages. Even talks about diet.

Sorry, I tell you how good it is, then forget to put it in:lol: Anyway, this lady sells vitamins, but forget about that, and just read the article. It has lots of good pointers. Look on page two under Chiros. It talks about the Upper Cervical Procedure http://www.fms-help.com/tips1.htm

Also, here is a site, that show you how the treatment is actually done. Just scroll to the bottomhttp://www.nucca.org/articles/nucca_technique.htm

So hope you are feeling better today. How did your Chiro treatment go?

Mima - good for you. I may have to break down and go try that diet. It never worked before but it could have been the meds I was on at the time. Will have to look into it. Candice does so well. She is almost a Phantom now, as we don't seem to get any posts from her anymore:lol:

Hi and Good Morning- Today will more than likely keep me out of trouble!! I have to clean the fans.(I can plant flowers on them),vacumn, and mop the kitchen and bathroom floors. Then dust ..etc.. I have lost 2lbs I picked up for my big weekend. I have to lose the rest or go back to WW by next thrusday. I probably will be back to WW. I have tried for a long time to lose more and not done much more than maintain. That is not good enough! I will have to get in the right frame of mind to beat this. And quit complaining... I am just venting!!..Enought...
Candicej You are doing good.. Go beyond your goal..I made the mistake of taking the high number too quick.. I should have kept the blinders on longer. It might have been easier to stay below goal.

The weather still is rainy - even for the long weekend. July 1 is Canada Day and I think, if the weather is just showery, we shall go to the mountains. They are not far, just a couple of hours away.

Meme - how did the chiro treatment go, or are you now in such pain that you can't tell us. My last treatment (last Wednesday) is still holding, and I feel so much better. I sure hope that this is something that is going to last.

Ally - put on the fat pants and chew on ice cubes! No calories in them, is there?:)

I don't know if he helped or not!!! He used an "instrument" on my back and made some adjustments then popped my neck about 5 or 6 times...hurt like the dickens! They used the TENS machine and ultrasound deep heat. I don't think my neck is quite as stiff as it was but on the other hand now I have a migraine and my lower back aches!!! Guess I'll have to go back a time or two and see if it gets any better. He knew what the Upper Cervical Procedure was but didn't offer to do it so I don't know if he isn't trained in it or doesn't believe it works!?! :?:

It is raining here today so I am in much pain!

Anne...this is for you!!!

I just went in and read the post from Meme, and when I came back it was gone. Meme I went and got a phone number for you for NACUCC (upper cervical chiro) 1-888-622-8221 . It is a toll free number and you can find out where the nearest one is to you. Regular chiros don't really know or understand fully what the upper cervical chiros. do. I know the one I was going to here told my husband that I needed to still come in for lower back treatments, but the upper cervical chiro says NO.

Thanks for the sun. I put it up in the sky and it is shining brightly at the moment.

I am posting the Canadian Flag in honor of Canada Day, July 1.

Oh Happy Anne....you can have this 90 degree stuff. Especially after the 4th or 5th day of it. House is sticky, kids are prickly. Almost don't want go come home after work and get out of the air conditioning.
Oh, I have been sneaking in that bad bad food. I couldn;t make it thru the nite last nite without an ice cream bar.
In the heat, I don't eat a lot at a meal, but then start poking around in the fridge later in the day.
And it has only taken a couple of weeks to know that I have gained a few pounds.
Put on a short sleeved summer dress today and almost ripped the sleeves out....too tight across the chest.
It is weird to be gaining weight in spots I never did in the past. I have a ton of size medium tops that are just too tight or too short anymore. I am bagging things up for goodwill, but wonder if that is just telling myself that I will never be medium again.
And I used to think Medium was midway to chubby. Now, I've gone all the way.:dizzy:
I have to go back to eating the high fiber with no sweets and no chips thrown in there on weekends.
I feel so much better when I eat that way.....but once i get that bad stuff back in my blood stream...I go crazy.
My son can now put weight on his bad leg. The other son is working a lot so I get some peace and quiet once in a while......heaven.

Was good but again had too much for dinner-going home tomorrow so I can be real good. The no sugar added popsicles with 0 pts. help me sometimes.Worked alsmost 9 hours today and have to be to work at 8 in the morning but it has been a good week-I guess my new goal is to maintain when I go away. I tried to lose weight on my own but it would always stay the same. I was just in the pool and it was super. Sitting 9 hours is tough on the body. I'm going to get some tennis balls and put the under my trigger pts. tomorrow night. That was in my new book. Went to the web sight you posted Anne and it was great. Thanks-you are so good to look up all these things for everyone. Gonna put my computer away now . Be good everyone. Mima

I just can't seem to lose this awful awful weight that I've put on and it is making me crazy!!! I wish someone would come up with a pill we could take at meal times and not even have to have any food in the house!!!!!!! Just think of the money we would save if we didn't have to eat or wear clothes!!!!!!!

When I was in my younger days,
I weighed a few pounds less,
I needn't hold my tummy in
To wear a belted dress.

But now that I am older,
I've set my body free;
There's comfort of elastic
Where once my waist would be.

Inventor of those high-heeled shoes
My feet have not forgiven;
I have to wear a nine now,
But used to wear a seven.

And how about those pantyhose-
They're sized by weight, you see,
So how come when I put them on,
The crotch is at my knees?

I need to wear these glasses
As the prints were getting smaller;
And it wasn't very long ago
I know that I was taller.

Though my hair has turned to silver
and my skin no longer fits,
On the inside, I'm the same old me,
Just the outside's changed a bit.

Well at least half of us are behaving, but Meme, Ally and I are not. I cannot seem to get the willpower to be good. I started off so well, and then emergency surgery my daughter had, and I had to be running back and forth for a month, I just can't get back to it. It's not like any of us are obese, but losing a few pounds would be good. I just NEED to do it. I hear you Meme. Ally, perhaps once your boys are both doing ok, it will become easier. It is never easy to diet when you have a lot of strife in your life. I probably won't be around much (much like our elusive Candice) as I am having company from this afternoon until MOnday and then from Monday until Wednesday. I shall be busy, but might be able to sneak a peek now and then.

Sent an e-mail to Tootie and she is doing ok. She can't get on the site, because of her internet connection somehow. I told her she could write to me, and I will copy it and paste it onto this site for her. She is such a sweetie and I really miss her. Her sense of humor was priceless.

Mima and Joanne, Ally and Meme and Candice - Have a great weekend. Next weekend is your weekend to celebrate. Canada is only 134 years old this year(as one country).

If you want me to stop talking about this topic, please just say so. You won't hurt my feelings and I don't want anyone cringing when they come on they board.

Anne...Happy Canada Day!

Ally..Lock up your kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mima and Joanne and Toots if you are there:)

I spent 6 hours Thursday cleaning the garage and it is not done yet! Dh ususally does it, but he does not take everything out and scrub it like I do! Lost another pound..that would be 46 Anne! Think I sweated that one off..it was hot in the garage:eek:

When I'm working hard I don't stop to eat..I don't even think about food..that is the key don't think about it! When I work and don't get enought to eat I get very weak..You would think I learn something from that!

I got to sleep in my own bed last night and eat my own food today!!!!I'm home til Sun. and then it's back to work.8 weeks a year is enough for a retired person. My rib thing is really acting up!I listened to a book on tape driving home and it made the time fly by.Anne-you give us so much info-I also like to tell people what works for me and I feel bad that some fibro people do nothing to help themselves. I know one that I think is addicted to the pain med. and just sleeps and someone else who won't try different meds and just suffers.Everything in moderation I guess. Now I'm going to that website!!Good day everyone!!Mima

Mima - that rib thing is called something spelled Chondroitis, or some such name. I guess it is a common fibro thing. I had this last year. At first I thought it was indigestion because it hurt from my ribcage to my shoulder and felt like a gas build-up. Next I went to the Dr., because all the ENO, Pepto-bismo or anything I took wasn't helping. He sent me for an x-ray, thinking a rib was out of place, because when he put pressure on the area around the rib cage from back to front, it really hurt, and he thought it might be inflamed. The x-ray was clear but it still hurt to take a deep breath. He told me to buy a rib-band and I did. It really helped, and then all of a sudden it went away. Aren't we lucky to have this crazy condition.

You are right. Lots of people just keep their heads in the ground like an Ostrich and won't look for anything to help them. Others, like me, are just crazy and will try almost anything to get rid of the pain. That is why I am so happy, because this treatment seems to be working for me - SO FAR.

I found that article interesting and just wanted to pass it on as info. I by no means, think everyone should do this. Each to their own, but I feel I should let you know. Who knows!

Candice - I think you are your own worst enemy. 46 pounds - that is so great. If I lost 46 pounds I would be unhealthy. I don't have that many to lose - about 25-30 would be just fine for me, but I can't seem to get with the program.

Well ladies, hi to all, and have a wonderful weekend.

I am off to the mountains this morning.

Hello Everyone- Well here I am on Sat. Morning and all I have done is the dishes washed and the bed made. It is just the beginning. I need a day to just sit on the beach. One thing for sure no matter how busy I am I don't forget to eat. I wish that was my problem.
Happy Canuk- Hope you had a good time in the mountains. I never see anything like that. Florida is real flat.
Candicej- I can relate to the cleaning. It is never finished!!. There is always something that has to be done.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend... Joanne:wave:

Yikes-I did not gain last week -might have evn lost a tad.I was really good yesterday and I walked and swam Had a WW frozen thing for dinner and I noticed it had 830 mg 0f sodium.Yikes again. I will try another brand.I tried the tennis ball under the trigger points last night. Ouch! But I think it helped a bit . It's supposed to take the toxins out. I found out what I had in the ribs myself and I told the doctor. Only mine never goes away. I'll have to get a rib band. Oh yeah-the tennis balls are like acupressure. You can put 2 in a sock and put them down your back-you lean up against something. Like the floor-which is down-or lie on the couch which is softer. I don't know if I explained this very well. Well-Gonna get ready for church soon. I'll check Tues. night for posts. See ya!!!!!!Mima

Hello Everybody- Mima Where did you find out about the tennis balls(therepy)?? I have severe arthritis and it sounds interesting.
Salt,That's the trouble with most of these fast meals. But since the dr. told me to cut salt ,I have found that hardly anything in the stores are without salt. Now what is a person supposed to do?Go back to the days of cooking everything from scratch? Not hardly!! I am one of those people that likes to cook dinner in 20-30 min. or less unless it is special. :D . I think there is more things to do than waste my time at the stove. But on the other hand I love food, that's why I have a weight problem.
Everybody have a great 4th...Joanne:wave:

Hi Guys.....read your posts really quick as it is still hot, hot hot but thunderstorms coming and relief is on the way.
Does anyone else get migraines in the heat? Yesterday I couldn;t even cheat as I felt so lousy and nauseous. Also achy. With the weather changing, I feel so much better today.
But...yesterday I was just so DOWN about being fat. Today with the exact same clothes on, I feel 20 lbs less and I don;t feel so fat and nasty. Isn't it amazing the difference one day can make???
Love that poem Meme.

Don't we all!

Ally..was the heat making you feel sick..it does that to me! This cooler weather is so nice, I had to wear sweats and a jacket to walk. My tummy is my problem area and I will never lose it, I'm getting thin everywhere else but I know I am healthier eating this way. I started out only wanting to lose 25 and it felt so good I just kept going. I just hope it stays off..but then there are those dumb meds again. I'm supposed to try nerurontin, I have had it for awhile but just have not tired it..so many side effects to all this stuff.

Anne..so gald you are getting some relief and are willing to try anything,I heard that lots of sex would cure your Fibro!:dizzy: Well we all know Meme will never be cured!

Joanne..I love to cook but it hurts my body to spend alot of time in the kitchen cutting up a bunch of stuff. I love trying new recipes and remeber we are what we eat! I love the WW dinners but try to limit them to when I have over worked and need something real quick cause I'm about to pass out!

Mima...I like the tennis ball thing..my massage therapist told me about that and you can use golf balls on your feet. Pressing the trigger points helps in the long run but hurts like ..well it hurts, you know the feeling!

Meme..come out and play!

Hi Toots!

Hello Everybody-- What a day-- In in the 90's here. I walked my usual 3.5 miles and ate too much.
Candicej You are so right. That is one of the reasons I am getting back into WW this Thrusday. I need to get this back into control. I found the WW meals have a lot of salt. I am trying to watch it but it is in everything on the gro. shelves these days.
Ally- The heat and humidity down here can make anyone have a headache. I should be used to it. Been here all my life. The humidity makes you swell up. That is one thing that makes us feel so lousy.
You guys have a safe -fun 4th. :) Bye for now...Joanne:wave:
