I have been on the 6WBMO in the past and lost 50 lbs. I am slowly putting it back on as I cannot eat this way anymore. I have horrible cravings and bingeing. I was looking over the Mediterranian diet and considering it, as I am not a big meat eater, but love nuts and seeds. ANyone have any suggestions? Or how are you doing on this diet?

It is by Michael Thurmond (Extreme Makeovers) NO SALT< and you need to eat certain things every 2 1/2 - 3 hours. I agree witht he eating often, but can't take the bland food anymore. Eggwhites only, no yolks. NO BREAD At ALL. I love bread, no nuts, no dairy, no oil. This medit. diet sounds like all the foods I love. Have you been on it and if so, what have you found good about it?

I've been using the Mediterranean diet as a general guideline; meaning I try to replace red meat with seafood, chicken, or tofu ... and I try to replace butter with olive oil whenever possible, and I eat a bunch of vegetables. I've only done it for a week or two, so I can't say yet how it's worked in terms of weight loss, but I've heard others have had good results. I also liked this one because it seemed very healthy over the long haul, and very do-able (compared to no-carb Atkins, no-fat diets, etc.).

I think it's worth a try! You've probably learned a lot about portion control, you just want your portions to taste better :) You could apply the principals of the Med diet and still do great. The foods on this type of plan are all healthy and natural, and as you pointed out, there's very little meat. You would eat mostly a plant based diet, with fish a few times a week. Chicken is eaten less often, and beef is consumed once or twice a month. Fruit is the preferred dessert, either plain or lightly sweetened. You can have bread :) Whole grains are preferred, but white is not completely off limits. Portion control is important.

Congratulations on losing 50 pounds!! :bravo:
