I thought it might be fun to make a thread for the people on the Gold plan to post their food diary so we can compare and get ideas! I'd love to see how others structure their day! :)
What did you eat today?

I guess since I started it, I'll be the first. This morning I took my dog for a walk to the gas station and got some coffee with f/f creamer. I then came home and ate 1/8 c. eggbeaters and 1/4 bagel for breakfast. I should have eaten my applesauce with breakfast but I'm just not hungry this morning. That brisk walk seemed to curb my appetite!
Lunch is to be determined! ;)

I guess I'm mostly a creature of habit. Every morning I eat an apple and FF blueberry yogurt. I usually have a bar inbetween breakfast and lunch. For lunch lately I've been making crab salad with celery and light mayo and eating with lettuce and cucumbers. If not crab in my salad I'll have tuna or turkey...And always some kind of fruit like pineapple or grapes. If I need a bar inbetween lunch and dinner I'll have one. For dinner usually chicken on the grill or chicken with stirfry veges. I recently bought this hawaiin marinade that I later found out was a no-no because of the sodium. I didn't think it was that much sodium (250mg). Plus when you're eating so little I didn't think it would matter. I think it was the only reason my counselor could come up with as to why I haven't lost in 2 weeks. I just bought the Mrs Dash marinade so maybe I'll try that soon.

This morning I had a Luna bar and an apple for breakfast.
Usually my day goes like this
Breakfast-1oz string cheese, 1 apple
Snack-either 1oz of string cheese or some sort of a protein bar
Lunch-Turkey Sandwich (usually a sub sandwich) If at home I have 2 slices of diet bread. and 2 oz of turkey deli meat. I pretty much do the cc turkey sandwich meal, but I don't count it as a protein.
Snack-either 1oz of string cheese or some sort of a protein bar
Dinner-Taco salad. 4 oz beef, 2 cups of lettuce, 1 tomato, 1 oz cheese, salsa
Snack-some sort of fruit
I try to stop eating by 7pm if I can. Also If I could do without that sandwich that would be great. I could have a starch for breakfast and 1 for lunch. But I just love sandwiches. :) One more thing a counselor just told me that I should try to drink milk sometimes instead of eating cheese. So I might try that. I don't tell them that I substitue cheese or a luna bar for the la lite. I just write la lite on my diary. I don't feel like hearing sales pitches.

Marci-When do you eat starches? I didn't see any listed.

Mandy- I usually eat my starches with dinner (rice or I'll have 2 eggs with 2 slices of lite bread) or have a sandwich at lunch. I did Atkins before this, so sometimes I forget my starches. I forget that I can actually have them on this diet!!!

I'm so loving this thread! Thank you ladies for posting your day! I had a LA Lites bar between breakfast and lunch and for lunch I had half of a chicken caesar salad (dressing on the side).

Marci-I live for my starches that's the only reason I noticed they weren't on your sample day. :) Just try to remember to get them in. They are as important as everything else on the plan. I just try to get them in earlier in the day. I don't know if that helps me or not, but I feel like it does. :) How did you do on atkins? How much did you lose? I'm always so curious about it. I've never really read up on it. All I know about it is no carbs.
Marisa-Yum! I had a chicken ceaser salad w dressing on the side for dinner a few nights ago at a restaruant. I was so proud of myself for not cheating. I usually always do when I eat out at a sit down restaurant.

Mandy - I did pretty well with Atkins, but I did that diet before I had my son and I was also training for a small race (5k) so I was getting in a lot of exercise and I think that had a lot to do with me losing weight. I only had to lose about 10lbs so it wasn't to bad. But my feelings about Atkins has changed. I think that as soon as you start bringing carbs back into your diet you start gaining the weight back. The reason I think people do so well on LAWL is because you lose 1-2 lbs per week which is the way you're supposed to lose...slow...and you're most likely to keep it off. With Atkins you lose 3+ lbs per week and often gain it back if you aren't strict with the diet.
I definitely get my starches in. Most of the time it's with rice or sandwich on a pita or bread. But I see that ice cream is a starch (i think. Now that the warm weather is coming I may have to save my starches for ice cream!!!

Thanks for the info on Atkins. I have just been curious to see how people lose on it. I know that I wouldn't be able to make it a way of life, so that is why I never tried it.
ok so today I've had
1 oz string cheese
1 apple
I'm getting ready to go have protein bar or lunch. I haven't decided yet. :)

hi gold ladies!
im new here but have been with la weight loss since jan. and have lost 41 lbs!! they just started me on the gold and any help would be appreciated.at the point now with my weight loss of beening slow to get off was on the purple for so long it good to start another plan but different. this has been my 2nd week on the gold and so far so good. be looking forward of chating and getting ideas. good luck to all. mandy
