Ellen 03-14-2005, 08:52 AM Good Morning! Its time for challenges!
1. Get your three days of exercise, and post it.
2. Try a new recipe and post the results.
3. Identify one trigger that causes you to overeat. Plan a way to deal with it next time it happens. Share if you feel like it what you have planned.
Let's make this a great week! We CAN do it!
Toni48 03-14-2005, 09:28 AM Morning Monet.... Thanks for starting the board. May have to take you up on that challange.
Already had breakfast of 2 eggs, peanut butter toast. I'm trying to get ahead of everything this morning but am feeling sleepy again. Its so cold in this room I'm going to have to go for the fire. Gee wonder if I should go back to sleep or do a load of laundry. Hmmmm wonder which one will win. Hope you all had a good week end. Will pop back in later....
GatorGal 03-14-2005, 10:03 AM Well, GatorGal is still grinning about the Gators' wonderful win over the Ky. Wildcats to take home the SEC basketball tournament trophy. Great day! Great win! Hope we can do as well at the big dance.
I started the week right, with a 2 mile walk. I have laid off last week because I was hanging around with my DH. He is feeling a lot better now. He actually is going in to his office this afternoon.
For breakfast: shredded wheat n' bran with 1/2 nectarine, sk. milk.
Solly 03-14-2005, 10:28 AM Good Monday Morning Ladies.
I'm glad the weekend is over, but I sure did not want to get up this morning. I had nightmares all night. I seem to dream much more vividly lately and remember it so well. Don't know what's up with that.
Eating was pretty good all weekend, except one meal of fried chicken, but everything else was legal.
Marie, it is so great to hear from you. Monet did a good job getting your back here. Sounds like you are doing great with your wt. Hope you can get back here more often.
Gator, Enough is enough. You can quit rubbing it in now. Congrats to your gators on their huge win yesterday. They deserved it, we didn't. I think you all will do great in the big dance. Unlike UK, I only think they will win 1 game. Glad your DH is feeling better.
Cindy, we got about an inch last night but it was only on the grass. That's the kind I like.
Susan, We watch All My Children. I have watched it for 33 years. Glad your funk is lifting. I thought about you yesterday, b/c I sure was in one. Spring is Sunday I think.
Monet, did you survive the weekend? I I thought about you alot this weekend while we were watching the SEC championships in the GA dome.
Toni, send that warm weather my way. I thought we ususally got your weather a day later, it is not warm here.
Bob, congrats on the new addition to the family. I know you are loving it. Glad you had a nice visit.
Tech, I love black jelly beans. I would kill for one, but afraid if I buy them I would eat the whole bag.
Julia, glad to see your post and so glad you are feeling better. Hopeyou can get on here more now.
Got to get busy here. Have a great OP day.
Fillise 03-14-2005, 11:10 AM It's rainy here this morning. I was going to begin the day with a walk, but sat under my lamp and read for a half hour instead. Maybe I can get out later this afternoon when it clears off a little.
Jackie--Another AMC fan! I had nightmares last night too--was there something up with the universe????? Spring is Sunday--think we can make it?
Gator--Congrats on the Gators win (sorry Jackie)! I will be filling out my brackets tonight. . . will probably spend a couple of hours tonight researching RPI's and whatnot. . .
Monet--thanks for starting the board! Did y'all get the storms last night? We had thunder so loud that I almost fell out of bed!
BOB--Congrats on the new baby!!!! Auntie BOB will be back in full baby prep swing!
Breakfast this morning was 1 green bananna, 2 soft boiled eggs and slices of WW bread.
I bought some Lean Cuisine low carb meals this weekend to have for lunch or dinner when I don't have anything else. I normally don't care for these, but decided to have them on hand so I don't have an excuse to hit a fast food joint!
Have a great OP day everyone!
Susan
techwife 03-14-2005, 11:24 AM MONET: Thanks for the insight on Vitamin C! I bought a bottle this weekend, each pill is 500...mg's?...and I'm taking one with a Centrum in the morning with breakfast and then one more with dinner...to start with...and will add one more with lunch once my body gets used to it. I read in the link you provided that they don't reccomend upping the vitamins all at once and I think that's smart to gradually get to a larger level with anything you take. Anyhow..what sparked me to try it (we really are frighteningly alike, Monet!!) is I also have restless leg syndrome. My dh does, too. It drives me through the roof that after I get the dishes washed, the kids to bed and I can sit on the couch and enjoy some quiet time watching unanimated things with dh, we both sit there moving and squiggling with our legs going berserk and the only thing that helps it is going to bed. So, I thought that the vitamin C would help me with the leg thing, too...not to mention the weight loss...check out my ticker! Down a pound after having a double cheeseburger with DH saturday! No to mention, also, the fact that the kids always seem to get sick this time of year and the added v-C can't hurt there, either. I'll let you know how the results are for me!!
And I forgot who was asking about the cure for the winter blues...another thing I used to do, once upon a time when I was younger, is going tanning. I know, the jury will be out for the next hundred years of the safety of tanning beds, but the UV rays are known to help because one of the reasons people get depressed this time of year is lack of UV rays...on over abundance is bad for us, but so is a deficiency. So, if you're up to it, get a package at your local tanning salon for six or so sessions...if you want to...just a suggestion. I do believe that UV therapy is a bonafide treatment for depression with some therapists. Can't hurt to try.
JACK: I have a lot of nightmares lately, too. Don't know why, either. The kind that I wake up making a lot of noise...one night involved ghosts..in fact I've had two ghost dreams lately that have woken me up. Really annoying and then I can't get back to sleep. I think it's the after-9-pm commercials on FX or Spike or Comedy Channel that is the staple of my dh's evening viewing. They have all the scary movies advertised then, which is why I read a lot while dh is watching TV...It takes my eyes away from the scary commercials. I really, really can't watch them...they can be so disturbing to me. I'm just a sensitive creature is all, I guess...
Gator...glad your dh is feeling better and you're back out walking again...
Toni...put the wash in the washer on soak cycle adn then take a nap while its washing...do both at once...I say...
Anyhow...I had for BF a half a grapefruit, two sausage links, and a slice of sourdough toast with PB and I'm on about my fifth cup of coffee with Splenda and Half and half.
Well, have to run...talk to you guys later on!!
techwife 03-14-2005, 11:26 AM Hi Fillese.... We were posting at the same time. I hope we can figure out what's giving us all nightmares. I hate them...
Kris
Ellen 03-14-2005, 12:41 PM Just a fly by. I am cooking dinner for leadership meeting at church tonight...40 folks. I am fixing beef roasts in the crockpot...I borrowed two so I had three! We will also have gravy and mashed potatoes, and green beans. I will NOT be eating the mashed potatoes. At least that is my intention. :)
I have brownies in the oven and I am planning on making a carrot cake as well.
Laura's car died last night...and Tom would like for me to run over with her and check it and see if we can get it started. I just don't have time! I am going to have to drive her to work early so I can make it up to the church with enough time to do the cooking. James went back to work today, totally recovered after the steroid shot in the bum on Friday! ;)
BOB: Wonderful news, Auntie Bob! Don't spoil this baby TOO much, ok?
TECH: It is frightening how much alike we are! I would be really suspicious if I did not know you were so much younger than me. :)
 to everyone else! I will do more replies later..I just have so much to do I need to get off here!
Solly 03-14-2005, 03:49 PM Just sneaking a peak to see what's going on.
My bf today was Special K LC with strawberries and skim milk.
Lunch was a small salad with ham and cheese and mushrooms. Oil/vinegar dressing.
Snack was 6 cashews and after lunch 1 pc of SF candy.
Dinner will be pork chops, saurkraut, and some other veggies.
Susan are there many Lean Cuisine dinners that are legal? I can wait until Sunday as long as it brings some warm weather with it.
Tech, I have RLS too. I don't think vit C helps it. I know BOB takes some Parkinson drug for it too.
Monet, you amaze me, dinner for 40. I would be out of my mind. You better stay out of the mashed potatoes and the cakes and brownies.
Have a great day. DH has to work late so I am going to run home and get my exercise in before dinner. :D

Cindylcing 03-14-2005, 07:57 PM Bob- I love it. It has a wonderful taste.
Ellen 03-14-2005, 10:51 PM Just flying by to say hello. Dinner tonight went great! I had a ton of beef and potatoes left, and will use them for small group tomorrow night. Now I just have to clean up the kitchen...and all three crockpots! Its bad enough to clean one!
I did eat some mashed potatoes. I tried to resist, but I just caved! :(
I feel rather full, but I am so tired I feel like I could drop. I am going to peel these clothes off and climb in bed. I slept poorly last night so I hope I can make up for it tonight.
I will do replies in the morning! :grouphug:
GatorGal 03-14-2005, 11:29 PM Well, I'm home from my Monday night class. My DH went in to work today. Actually, we had a meeting with a professional person at 1 pm. so we went together to that, and then he stayed for work. He had a dinner to attend tonight and caught a ride home and was here by 8. He was in pain, and actually took one of the pain pills he said he would not take any more of. He has to learn the hard way! He is going to try to drive in to work tomorrow and will be able to leave any time he wants. It should be interesting!
I got in over 13000 steps today. That's about 5+ miles. I did walk this morning my regular 2 mile loop and then went to lift weights this afternoon. My new pedometer really racks up the steps easier than the old one. I guess the old one was starting to gum up and not count everything. It was probably 7 or 8 years old. It was a dependable brand and I got my money's worth out of it.
Eating today was OK-- my other 2 meals:
Lunch--chicken gumbo soup and a side salad with balsamic dressing (on the side) water.
Dinner, split pea soup.
Snack--3 oz filet of beef, 1 tangerine.
Bad snack--a couple of bites of coffee ice cream. :yikes:
Jackie--I can't imagine the Cats being out after just one game. They will go further than you think.
Monet--Sounds like you have the week's food all taken care of with the pot roast leftovers.
Gotta go. It's bedtime.
Solly 03-15-2005, 09:23 AM Good Morning Ladies
Did get my exercise in last night, about 40 minutes. Seems like I kept getting interrupted.
Has anyone ever made those Lace Oatmeal cookies on the board? Monet? I tried them, with one cup of ats ground, the mixture was so runny. I ketp adding oats (not ground). I know they were supposed to be thing, but they turned out like oatmeal cookies, chewy. Not too bad.
Bf: 3 oatmeal cookies (legal)
Lunch: pork chop, asparagus, saurkraut, strawberries (all leftover dinner)
Dinner: burgers, slaw, northern beans
I may hold my lunch for another day as a friend just called to do lunch.
Bob, I heard that was coming. I hear Travis Ford is up for the job. Sure hope he gets it. He is a cutie.
Cindy, I hope those dreams pass quickly too, I can almost remember them perfectly. Strange.
Monet, I'm closingup shop here and heading your way to kick your arse. You weren't going to eat those potaotes. You need to tell Tom to not let you do do things. If I know someone is watching, I won't do it, or hide and do it, You should have know I was watching you.
Gator, better not let DH do too much, but then again they have a mind of their own (not a sensible one many times). I did my brackets last night and I actually have the Cats going 2 games.
Have a great day everyone.
Ellen 03-15-2005, 09:59 AM Good Morning! I slept a little better last night, but I still woke up too much for my way of thinking. I did get in bed before ten, so I got enough sleep, I just feel kind of achy and run down today.
I am tentatively supposed to meet a young woman from church for lunch, though we never finalized plans. I have not heard from her, so I need to call and see if we are still going to meet. She suggested Dim Sum, which is almost impossible to eat legally. I guess I can eat bean curd rolls if we go!
We are still dealing with car issues as Laura's car stalled out on her on the way to work. James had to go pick her up when she got off at 1am and they were able to get her car home. It stalls when it gets warm. As long as it is cold, it runs great. Weird...
Not much else going on here. Small group is tonight, so I need to clean up a bit- especially in the kitchen where I made a mess yesterday. I will serve leftovers from last night, so I don't have to cook.
I said I would do replies, but I hope everyone will forgive me for waiting until a bit later to do them. I am starting to fall asleep at the keyboard, so I am going to go lay down for a bit. :)
CountryMom4Him 03-15-2005, 12:31 PM The prodigial is back. I've spent the last few months as far away from the board as possible as I wollowed in my grief and shame. Winter is always bad but this year I went stupid. I think Britt losing the baby may have triggered things or I just had a lapse in self control. God has blessed me and I've been back on track a little over a week. In that week I've lost 8 pounds. Next month is my 4 year anniversary of being on SB and I'm hoping to be back to my normal weight if not a little lower.
I sure did miss you guys and am totally blank as to what has been going on with ya'll. Looking forward to catching up.
Love and hugs,
Crystle
Fillise 03-15-2005, 01:03 PM I couldn't sleep so got up at 2 am!!!! I got lots of work done, but of course it's now 11:00 am and I am serisoule drsgging! I think I will be having a nap for lunch:lol:
Crystal--It's great to have you back and you know we will always welcome you wher you are. You don't have to be perfect for us. A lot of us have been struggling through this winter. We can help.
Monet--Sorry to hear that Laura is having car problems. Really, I think you houshold is cursed when it comes to cars. The custodian at my church has his car stolen a few weeks ago. I told him he could have the Tarus, so he came and got it, fixed it up and it seems to be running just fine. I think it was just the bad vibes from your house! ;)
Gator--How is your DH? I hope he doesn't overdo it too soon! You are going great gus on your steps!
Jackie--I just noticed that Lean Cuisine is making a carb conscious line--usually a meat and veggie--perfect for lunch or a light dinner. I haven't tried one yet, am hoping to today for lunch! Really, really working hard to make it to Sunday:(
BOB-Hmmm, I'm thinking it's going to take more than Paxil to get you straightened out! :dizzy: There is a rumor floating around here that UT may be looking at AU's new coach.
Tech--I hope you didn't get blasted too badly with the last snowstorm. Even with the 10 minutes of sleep I got last night I had a really bizarre dream. Do you suppose it has something to do with the impending vernal equinox?
Cindy--I noticed all the carb options is a sale cart at Krogers. . .
ok--I really have to lay down for a minute.
Have a goo day everyone!
Susan
heartmom 03-15-2005, 04:12 PM Hey, guys. I stayed up last night doing some self-analyzing. I've been in a slump/funk for a few weeks now and it's only gotten worse. My eating has been the worse ever. I haven't been exercising half of what I normally do. And generally, I just feel crappy. I've had the hardest time with my weight and being obsessed with it and doing the opposite...gaining. I think it started in the fall and it's just went downhill from there. I haven't totally abandoned this WOE, just haven't been committed, non-caring. I'm back up in the 160's which is what I've been doing for months now. It's taking a toll on my stomach fat. Basically, I've been feeling so out of control. Summer is just right around the corner and I'm wanting to shed some pounds and feel better. Can't do that by spending more time off plan than on. It's time for me to get back the control instead of letting food control me. It's affecting my mood, energy, and how I feel about myself. I'm 100% ready to get back in the swing of things. CTS- Did anyone read Boogie's article. I thought it was pretty good.
CRYSTLE- 8 pounds in a week is awesome. We can do this. How much are you above your low? I "think" I'm about 5-7 above mine, will find out tomorrow.
Here's my menu for the day:
BF- Healthy omelette. Made with 4 egg whites and 1 egg yolk. Spinach, onion, and tomatoes(no cheese)
Lunch- will be sauteed veggies in garlic and olive oil. Brussel sprouts, brocolli, cauliflower, onion, tomato, cabbage
Supper- Hubby is cooking, but probably spaghetti(no noodles) and large salad with Ranch dressing
I've decided that I eat too much fat and too many LC products. So I'm going to cut down on them. I think I'm going to switch back to SF Blue Bunny yogurt instead of the LC Dannon I've been eating. Also, I plan on switching back to plain skim milk instead of the Carb Countdown 2%. Going to cut my cheese consumption down just a bit. When I started SB, I used the SF products, not LC, and I did pretty good with losing. This WOE is not about counting carbs. Also, most LC products are so full of fat. I wonder if that's part of the reason my stomach is now bigger. I recently read an article about Atkin users having more stomach flab than others. I also plan to get back on track with my exercising. I haven't exercised since last Thursday. Tonight, I teach exercise at my church. Well, I've gone on long enough, my stomach is growling and I need to cook my lunch.
P.S.- I'll post pics this weekend when I get them all developed/done.
Solly 03-15-2005, 04:16 PM Just peaking in...........
Monet, nothing worse than car problems, especially with kids, theys eem to think they can take ours. Stay out of those potatoes tonight or I will be coming down there.
Country, So so glad to see your post. I am so sorry that Britt lost her baby. I don't know if I missed that post. That is so hard for everyone. Prayers for all of you. Winter is so hard but much easier when you have support. 8 lbs in a week is great. That's what I did on my first week on SB and it got me really motivated. Looking forward to seeing you back on here.
Susan, at least your lucnh will be legal if you do that for lunch. It's gonna be hard making it to Sunday for me. I have bunco tomorrow and St Patty's Day Thursday, and I'm sure people will get together for the games. I'm gonna try real hard though.
No plans for tonight except for dinner and working out. So no excuses for me. Have a great evening.
Ellen 03-15-2005, 05:08 PM Checking in. We did go for Dim Sum for lunch. We ate a lot less than my family has done in the past at that place...which was good. A couple of the items were ok, but a few were not. Nothing was made with sugar, but there was some white flour, or starch in a few of them. I came home and tried to take a nap, but kept getting interrupted by the phone, or Laura wanting to chat with me. I need to go clean in the kitchen, as it is a disaster area still.
COUNTRY: Its great to see you back. I am very sorry about Britt's baby. I lost three, so I know how hard it can be. I hope she is doing ok. I am glad you are back since you don't want to stay at that stage of grief, you have to move on. Sounds like you are doing pretty good with getting back on track. 8 pounds is great!
HEART: You have probably learned a lot about yourself through the months you have been struggling. Its also given your body a chance to get used to where you are now. Its great you are re-commited and determined. Watch out, world! Here comes Laurie! I bet you do great now!
FILLISE: I can tell you were tired when you typed that! I apologize profusely for infecting your car with the bad vibes. We just have bad Car-ma here, what can I say? It seems like it never ends.
JACK: No taters tonight...no taters tonight....I may go fix some brown rice, so Tom and I have something ok to eat our meat and gravy on. I need to get out and walk too, but gosh, I have to clean the kitchen, and I am SO tired, its ridiculous! I don't even have Fillise's excuse of waking up at 2 and getting up and working.
off to clean the kitchen....
techwife 03-15-2005, 05:19 PM HEARTMOM & COUNTRY!! So nice to see you guys again. Sorry to hear you've both been in a slump, but it seems as though either of you have to loose a whole lot to get back on track. Just dust off and jump right back in there!!
Spring is doing it's darndest to pounce upon us up here in the North Country. My favorite early spring thing happened yesterday and the ICE BREAKER CAME THROUGH!! You guys just don't know what it's like to see that thing come crunching through the 2-foot-thick ice cover. The environmentalists get all up in arms over it because it supposedly does some sort of damage to things...but man, oh, man..is it ever nice to see it every spring. Soon, the ships will start chuggin up and down the river again and then spring/summer's right around the corner!! Last spring we got a 2003 open bow Searay...we can't afford it, but we got it anyway because as my husband says, he and we as a family deserve it!! I agree!! So, soon we'll be taking it down to the boat launch and breakin out the Coppertone and USING it instead of just sniffing it! I can hardly wait!! I think dh is going to buy us some water skis and a tow rope this summer and I'm going to give it a whirl. I haven't been water skiing since I was about 14 and I had water up my nose for a week!! But how is that for creative exercise? Anyhow...I'm just all pumped up because the sun is shining and, even though 41 might be cold to some people, it's like a summer day here!! I had the stroller out and walked ds to get dd and took a drive out to the lighthouse to seethe piles of broken ice coming in from the lake. Its so cool...the ice is always light blue and sparkles as far as the eye can see...I just love this time of year...
AND...don't know if you've noticed my ticker..but I"m down a pound!! I'm thinking I like this Vitamin C thing!! Thanks, Monet!!
Susan...I have no idea what's up with these dreams. I did have a rather nice, non-nightmare the other night involving Matthew McConaughey...I could stand more of those!! But the scary ones I could definitely do without...that's for sure.
Gator: Good luck keeping DH pinned down long enough to heal! Trying to get them to do what's best for them is like trying to get them to ask for directions!!
Monet: hope you are feeling better soon and your car woes are over soon...
Cindylcing 03-15-2005, 08:44 PM Evening all! Well we had sun and in the 40's which actually felt very warm after the teens and 20s. I hope this means theres much better weather coming soon.
Tomorrow at work we are having a off site luncheon for my dept ( which there are 60 of us) and they ( the bosses) have decided on going to Unos Chicago bar and grill. I used to love there chicago classic pizza but of course I wont get that :( . Ill probably opt for a chicken ceaser salad.
Gatorgal- you did 13000 steps in one day ?? Way to go. Ive been wearing one the past two weeks and decided on increasing by 1000 each week (thats 1000 more each day) and Im only up to 8000+ a day this week so far. And thats with exercising ! Maybe when it gets warmer I can add in some evening walks and shoot for 13000. Im impressed.. keep it up gf!
Monet- I have a cookbook called Dim Sum , I never knew there was a resturant with that name. I dont know anything about that kind of cooking but thought Id love to try some recipes and got the cookbook but then I went on lc so never got to try anything.
Tuesday menu
b- 2 eggs, 1/2 ww bagel
s- Lc yogurt
l- 4 oz leftover steak, 5 radishes
s- apple
s- 1/2 oz almonds
d- 1 porkchop, romaine/spinach salad with diced brocilli, redpepper and carb options bl cheese dressing
des- 1/2 cup Lc icecream
Fillise 03-15-2005, 09:08 PM A quickie--
Monet--what gave the tiredness away--the fact I couldn't type?????
Tech--I bet it was a great sight to see the ice breaker come through! I remember when I loved in Iowa, the first sign of spring was when the Dairy Queen re-opened! I almost never went there, but seeing the lights on the last week in Feb. did my heart a lot of good! Do you think we might do any brain damage sniffing suntan lotion?????
Jackie--I just remembered that I have a St. Patty's day party tomorrow night. Uh-oh.
Heart--hang in there--it seems like a lot of us are stuggling with the end of winter blahs.
I hope everyone has a good evening!
Susan
heartmom 03-15-2005, 10:53 PM Me again. TECH- Had to laugh at your post about wanting warmer weather. Don't see how you Northerners can tolerate the cold for so long. Guess you get used to it. Taught a good workout this evening. Felt good to sweat, lol. I did really good with my eating today, so I'm pleased with that. One day 100% OP is now under my belt, along with a day of exercise. Oh yea, Boogie had his cardiology checkup yesterday. Guess everything is about the same. His aortic valve is still leaking, just hoping it doesn't get worse, cause I don't want to go back down the surgery road. He just seems so typically normal now, thinking about his heart needing more surgery would just mess me up. So for now, I concentrate on how well he's doing and he obviously is well enough that the doc doens't want to see him again for another six months. His heart is generally good, but he's been fighting this nasty cold virus thingy off since last week. Ended up in the ER last week at 2 am. He's doing better, just coughing at times so bad that he literally pukes. Now Robby has it. He's been running fever and feeling bad the past 2 days. I felt like I was coming down with it the other day, but shook it off. Hope it doesn't come back for a rebound. Well, I'm going to check my email and get ready for bed. Nite!
Ellen 03-15-2005, 11:53 PM Flying by... Dinner with the small group was leftovers, and I was conservatively naughty...but the good news is that the potatoes are all gone! yay!
CINDY: The restaurant is not named Dim Sum, Dim Sum refers to the cuisine...it translates something like "hearts delight". They are small bite sized snacks, served from carts on plates, usually for brunch. There are some that can be made low carb, or SugarBusters legal. I have made the steamed buns with whole wheat flour and they were actually good! I use agave when it calls for sugar, and it usually works fairly well. I do that kind of cooking a lot. If its Asian, especially Chinese, I want to try it, and try cooking it!
HEART: I hope Boogie is getting over that cold...sounds like a nasty one! Is that leak something that will heal on its own ever? We can pray about that....I need to go read that story. Will you post the link again? I can go look for it in the back posts if you don't...
FILLISE: It was the typos, Watson! The typos! :) I used to think of daffodils and crocuses as signs of spring, but not any more!
TECH: I wish you had taken a picture of that ice breaker and posted it! I would love to see what that looks like!
Time for bed! Sweet dreams everyone!
Solly 03-16-2005, 09:52 AM Good morning Ladies
Hope the scale is good to you today. I think I am up 1 or 2 lbs. I forgot to write it down last week.
I did get about 40 minutes of exercise in last night. I also got up this morning and fixed DH breakfast at 5:30 and then hit the treadmill for 20 minutes. I have bunco tonight so I wanted to make sure I had time to get it all in. I will do wts before I leave tonight. The girl is having soup and salad so I will be fine. Will skip dessert.
When I got on the TM this morning, my foot slipped and hit the front and I started to fall. I tried to compensate and catch myself and pulled the heck out of my butt. I can hardly sit on one side or walk. What a clutz.
Laurie, glad to see you posting again. Winter is such a hard time to diet. Not only is it too cold to get out and exercise it is just plain gloomy and depressing. But spring is close and we all have new resolve. Sometimes we just have to sit down and take a hard look at what we are doing and make changes. How was the trip? You have gone to DW haven't you? Glad Boogie is doing so well.
Monet, now the brown rice is being prepared. Good for you.
Tech, I bet that was such a neat sight to see. Congrats on being down 1 more.
Cindy, good luck eating at Uno's today. I'm sure there is something legal for you.
Susan, I will probably be ok tomorrow night, I don't drink beer and that will be the drink of the evening wherever we go I'm sure. Hang in there.
Off to my weekly Wed meeting. Hope to be back later.
have a great OP day.
Ellen 03-16-2005, 10:50 AM Morning! Just a quick fly by. I am feeling lazy. Laura got up and took my car early this morning, and James is supposed to drive hers to work. I sure hope it gets him there! He is going to be late. I tried waking him up an hour ago, and he just got up! grrr.
Its raining again. Yuck! I did some work this morning on forms and emails for the arts festival, so I feel productive. I also feel like a good book and laying in bed all morning sounds good....
Breakfast was three eggs, and an English muffin, and hot tea. I did not weigh. I still feel full from dinner, so I will wait until tomorrow morning! :s:
Have a great day! I will be back in a while ...
techwife 03-16-2005, 10:51 AM Hi guys!! WIW...167!! It's on the way down!! You know how when you go to bed the scale reads something like 5 lbs more than when you wake up? Well, last night, it read 169 before bed!! THAT is something for me!! So, when I woke up, it was still 167...I was hoping for 166 or 165. Oh, well...hopefully next week!!
Below is a news clipping with a picture of the ice breaker! As you can see, the Save the River people make it a headline story with their protesting...needless to say, I'm not one of them...BUT, the Save the River campaign is somewhat historical around here because it was first headed up by Abbey Hoffman!! He moved here in the 70's to hide away from the law and assumed a new identity and then started his protesting days all over again protesting over the shipping industry. Some people just need to get a real job. But if we have to have protesters, at least they're professionals at it!! lol Anyhow...that's the best I can do for pictures. I was waiting for my daughter to get out of school when I saw it go by. I'm pretty sure I was actually jumping up and down as if I saw Santa Claus!! The best is that there is an island across from the town of Clayton that is only accessible by boat, but people like to go there a lot in the winter and they drive their cars over the ice to get there. Some people live there all year. So, sometimes the ice breaker takes them by suprise and then they're stuck there on the island until someone can come get them by boat, but then they have to leave their cars and snowmobiles behind until the next winter. I remember as a teenager going to Grindstone Island and thought it was really cool that the kids could drive the cars left behind without a drivers license because its just a remote island that there are no cops on...no town, just a road with cottages and the cars left behind in the winter. They ahve a one room school house for the kids that would be there all winter that, as of 1980 when I was there, was still in use for the times the kids couldn't get to school...but I'm pretty sure they don't use it anymore. I didn't go to school here, but a lot of my friends did and I remember the kids that lived there were like the mysterious "island kids".
The best was a couple of winters ago, a man drove his truck out to his ice fishing shack to get his stuff and the ice was too thin and his truck sunk to the bottom the river. He was fined $200 a day for every day his truck was underwater until he got it out. I have no idea what his fine ended up being, but he was in the paper with his truck hanging from a crane like a big fish he'd caught!! LOL At least he wasn't in the truck when it sunk!!
here's a link to the news site... news clip of ice breaker (http://www.wwnytv.net/72k/full-story.asp?uid=7126&area=home+page)
HEART: Hugs and prayers that your little guy maintains status quo. You make me realize how much I take for granted having two healthy kids whose biggest worries are not understanding fractions and not getting the happy meal toy they wanted. :grouphug:
Jack: Ya gotta watch it on those treadmills!! I always feel like a clod on them and opt for the stairmaster instead. More intense, besides, and my workout is done quicker. Which is a very, very GOOD thing!!
MONET: Hope you had a better night's sleep last night! And a house without potatoes is a GOOD THING!!
Fillise 03-16-2005, 11:03 AM Apparently we are going to have to wait until Sunday. . . it's miserable rainy here today. I sat under my light for a half hour this morning while I are breakfast and read the paper. Hope it helps.
I turned in my passport application yesterday I had try twice to get a set of pictures that didn't make me look like I wanted to hurt someone-- We leave 7 weeks from yesterday!
Tech--Thanks for the picture of the icebreaker! I've got the open bottle of suntan lotion sitting next to the computer now. . . WTG on the loss!
Monet--Is it as dismal there as it is here today?
Jackie--A sprained butt--OUCH! You are *** bad as BOB! ;)
Heart--Glad to hear that boogie got a good report, though I hope he get over the ick and you DON'T get it!
Time to get to work--Have a great OP day veryone!
Susan
THE BIG ORANGE BABE 03-16-2005, 12:59 PM GLOOMY WEDNESDAY....EXPECTING OVER 5 INCHES OF RAIN THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT!!!
I'm going to the Doc this afternoon for the results on my knee. Can't forget to ask him for an order for MRI of my left shoulder, arm and hand...mental note....mental note....mental note!!!
I'm on the fly by...no ST PADDY day plans for BOB...
I'll be back with the report a little later...
BOB
Ellen 03-16-2005, 01:23 PM I just made mayo with peanut oil, and no sugar. Oh, my! It is delicious! I will never buy mayo again.
TECH: Thanks for the picture, and story. Is it for real that big boats navigating through the ice hurt the shoreline and upset breeding? Or is it iffy, just a possibility, and something to complain about? The remote island sounds very interesting and cool. I suppose they have power, and phones and such though, right?
FILLISE: Its drizzly and yucky here too. :( I slept a good bit this morning...no energy to do anything much.
BOB: Don't forget to get that MRI done!
JACK: Ouch! I am sorry you sprained your glutious maximus....
I wonder where Drumflower, and Pancho have gotten to. Kengjw too. And Fruit....where is she?
techwife 03-16-2005, 01:33 PM Just a quickie fly-by to post my menu for today:
BF: Two scrambled eggs, 1 slice 7-grain toast, 1/2 grapefruit, coffee, coffee and more coffee
Snack: Smoothie made with plain yogurt, splenda, vanilla and 1/2 orange. I omitted the egg, milk and banana because I've been reading that raw eggs can be unhealthy and I add the milk to thin out the shake, then add the banana to thicken it back up again but I didn't have a green banana, so I omitted them both. The smoothie was actually better simplified!!
Lunch: Turkey patty, plain with no bun, grapes...may add 1/2 orange if ds keeps stealing all my grapes!!
Snack: ?
Dinner: ? I'm taking the kids to see Robots, so I'll be eating mall food...will probably get a low carb wrap at Subway...or two if I can afford it...those things are, like, bite-size!! I'll also have to have some illegal theater popcorn. I'm hoping to sneak in some Capri Suns for drinks...It's absolutely criminal what they charge for sodas in theaters, so I don't mind one bit cheating!!
BOB: Good luck at the doc's!! :crossed:
Fillise: You guys are really having a crappy weather spurt!! Not a cloud in the sky here...but the temp is 35...and climbing!! We should be officially into the 'mud season' anyday now!! ...which is the down side of warmer weather up here. I have to keep a wet rag on my swiffer at all times to follow the kids and hubby around the kitchen the minute they come in the door with sloppy boots and shoes. Sometimes I feel like I live in a barn!!
techwife 03-16-2005, 01:51 PM Hi Monet!! We were posting at the same time...and I'll bet you're posting a reply right now, as well!! LOL
Well, I used to work for the St. Lawrence Seaway Pilot's Association and they say that what happens is so minimal...if you could see the zillions and zillions of fish that are caught here every summer...plus the ice breaker also breaks up ice jams in the river that can cause flooding when things start to melt, as well and the ships going through only helps to keep things broken up and flowing well. The thing with the protestors that always gets me is that they would be happy with the Seaway if they prolonged operations until April 1, which is only 5-6 days difference...I just don't see all the hubbub. Plus the St. Lawrence has a really strong, fast current and add that to any wind that happens this time of year off Lake Ontario, which condenses and flows into the St. Lawrence, and you'll get loads more damage to docks and fish breeding than any ship can do. And the ships only go about 6 mph and make barely any wake when there's a lot of ice. I think protestors just like to complain about anything the govt does and the SLSPA is closely associated with the govt, so that answers a lot. The ships run a tiny bit faster where I live as the river is a bit wider here, and I've always loved the waves as they rolled in on my rubber raft tied to a sand screw while sunbathing... :D
Solly 03-16-2005, 05:45 PM Just heading home in a minute.
I have to rush and get DH some dinner and fix his lunch and do my wts before I leave for bunco. Oh and I have to run in the nurshing home to see my aunt for a minute too. We will probably have green wine at bunco.
Tech, I wish the pic had been bigger it was hard to see it breaking up the ice. It soundslike a neat little story though. WTG on geting to 167. Now keep it going down. I agree that they charge waay too much for concessions at the movies. I would take my candy and stuff in my purse too. Have a legal dinner, think about the great number on the scale.
Susan, those passport pics are never good. Always look like you are one of the Most Wanted. I hope you get it in time. Seems like it took at least a month or so to ge mine back.
Bob, hope you get a good report from the doc. Keep us posted.
Monet, glad you are still herding in the lost flock.
Have a great evening.
Cindylcing 03-16-2005, 06:06 PM Hi All !
We had a wonderful time at our lucheon today. 2 hours away from work and getting paid can never be a bad thing :D
I am down 1.5 of the 2 I gained on Mondays weigh in.
Monet - LOL told you I dont know anything about Asian cooking ! Thanks for informing me. I just assumed it was a resturant cause you said you were having Dim sum kinda like having subway LOL.
Techwife - yeah on the loss.
Todays menu
b- blueberry smoothie, 1/2 ww bagel
s- 1/2 cup cantaloupe
l- chicken gorgonzala, cole slaw( took one bite and Blah, couldnt eat it) and a few onion petals !!( Not on plan )
d- Lunch was late so just having some yogurt
GatorGal 03-16-2005, 09:40 PM Fillise--where are you going where you need a passport?
Tech--I know that spring is just around the corner for you. Here in Florida it is not such a big deal, but I know that up in Yankee land it is a time of year that is greatly loved by everyone.
It has been gloomy and rainy here the last couple of days so I only got in 9640 steps yesterday and about 8000 in today. We had a gully washer this afternoon and evening. Good for the budding trees, though.
My DH is still going to work part of the day. He can't stand just sitting at his desk so he gets up and paces around. And that makes him start getting pains. I don't know why he can't just stay in his seat! He is lying down now. I picked him up at work at 1 pm. so he got in about 4 hours today. He has his doctor visit tomorrow for follow-up. The big Arnold Palmer golf tournament is this weekend, and my DH is dying to go. With walking and standing bothering him, it should be interesting.
This is my week for doing my French class final project. I have memorized 4 stanzas of a 6 stanza poem--in French--and have 2 to go. I then have to transcribe the poem into phonetic symbols and break it up into syllables. In French they run the last consonant of a word into the first part of the next word, expecially if it starts with a vowel. So it is challenging to do this. I can do most of the symbols on my computer, but I don't have all the symbols, so will have to write some in with black pen. A sentence might look like this:
[ œ ?a ple dø ly mje re dœ fra ter ni te ].
This particular sentence has a couple of vowel sounds left out because I don't have those on my computer.
Eating was so-so today. Breakfast was shredded wheat n bran with 1/2 nectarine and berries and sk. milk.
Lunch was left over spicy chicken and veggies and brown rice from last night.
Dinner was salad, steak and ratatouille over at my daughter's house.
I also cheated and had some cheetoes. Bad. Bad.
It's nice to see Country back. We've missed you.
GatorGal 03-16-2005, 09:41 PM Oops, one of the phonetic symbols in my above sentence turned out like a ?. I guess this board program doesn't recognize the symbol I used.
Ellen 03-16-2005, 10:16 PM A quick fly by....the rain is beginning to wear on me. Laura left this afternoon to fly standby to Tampa. She is only staying one day, then driving back with a few friends. We told her it was a crazy idea, but she wanted to do it. I talked to her about 6, and they were about to call boarding on the flight she was hoping to get on. She told me if she did not get on it, she might go to Chicago instead and visit her aunts and cousins. I encouraged that..I felt better about her hanging with relatives than with a group of kids. I still don't know which way she went..north or south! Her cellphone is turned off, so I am assuming she is on a plane.
Dinner was sauteed tilapia, and broccoli. We nibbled on cheese and crackers and olives after dinner too. I really need to fast for a few days, my stomach is not liking anything I eat lately. I feel really yucky. :(
GATOR: Men! Tell that crazy husband of yours he will heal faster if he just takes it easy, uses his pain meds, bulks up on Vitamin C, and RESTS. I hope that final project goes well. Sounds difficult...
Gotta go make smoothies and finish cleaning the kitchen.
heartmom 03-16-2005, 11:43 PM Anyone ever have problems with their scanner? Mine says scanner can't be enabled. I wanted to scan a photo of Boogie and I in Philly last month. Anyway, Jackie- the trip was pretty good. It had its up and downs, but well worth it because Boogie got to talk and have his photo taken with Spiderman(his fave). That made up for the bad points like everyone getting sick, the rain, and cold, my sweater being stolen, etc...But in between the bad, it was really good, lol. MONET- The valve, it won't get better with time, but it may not get worse, or there is the possibility that it might, I'm hoping that it will stay the same and it will be nothing to worrry about. As for the link, I'll have to go in lasts week posts and find it.
My eating has been good again today. I had a spinach, onion, and tomato omelette for BF. Lunch was 2 bowls of veggies(cooked in olive oil and seasoned with garlic and herbs)followed by peach yogurt. Supper was 2 bowls of pork stew that was a tad too salty, so I'm hoping I don't swell. It's bad enough that T.O.M. showed up today, don't need any added bloat. The pork stew had cabbage, onion, tomatoes, green beans, okra, pork stew meat, and a little Dreamfield's pasta in it. I used a ham bouillon AND cajun seasoning which made it a little salty. I'm trying to up my veggies as you see. Oh yea, my weight is "around" 164, the scale wouldn't settle on it. My pants were really tight on me tonight, but I'm hoping some of that is from T.O.M.(fingers crossed). I got my workout in today, remind me to NEVER exercise in a sweatshirt again! I was drenched, hence the name, lol. Boogie is on the mend, hubby is not. Hope I don't get it.
TECH- Way to go on 167! If I don't get a move on it, you'll be passing me up soon, lol.
Ellen 03-17-2005, 01:04 PM Slow day here in cyberland.... :) Happy St. Paddy's Day!
I made the mistake of getting on the metal monster. Not a good idea. I was up some, and I know why. Now I just need to get seriously on the straight and narrow, and quit messing around with stuff I am not supposed to have...like potatoes! I know that is why I was up. I think baked ones are not as bad as mashed ones.
I ordered some more of the natural progesterone cream. I am going to use it for three or four months more and see what I think. I do think I feel better using it, but its a very mild improvement. I am anxious to see if it improves. They say it can take three months to really tell a difference.
Breakfast was three eggs, scrambled, and some low sugar granola, with coffee.
The weather seems to be improving a tad. Its lighter, and not raining now. I am SO sick of rain!
I am wondering where Toni and Pancho are....haven't heard from them in a few days.
I think my neighbor and I are going to go to the mall and walk (and shop). Its too cold and rainy out to walk outside. We will see how we feel after she runs an errand over lunch. :p
I will check in later!
Fillise 03-17-2005, 01:18 PM More of the same--cold rain and wind. Ick!:(
Happy St. Paddy's day!:)
I went to a party last night--I'd love to stay home tonight, but have a meeting in the next county.
Monet--Did you ever hear which way Laura went?????? White potatoes are white potatoes. It doesn't do any good to figure out wether baked or mashed is better because they are still white potatoes!!!!!:o
Gator--I'm going to Italy for the first two weeks in May. We are doing three days in Rome, a week in Tuscany (I have rented a small villa for the week), two days and Venice and two days in Milan. I can't wait!
Heart--I bet several of those pounds are TOM weight! I hope you figure the scanner out because I'd love to see the picture!
Cindy--That luncheon sounds great! Also the two hours off!
Jackie--We leave seven weeks from last Tuesday. The State Dept. website said it would take 4-6 weeks to get the passport--so I should have plenty of time. I know the pictures aren't supposed to be great, but the first set was really scary!
Tech--How well I remember the mud season! I also remember that everything would be so brown and gray for so long, but then there would be a coupld of warm sunny days and all of a sudden the world would turn green--it was the most beautiful sight! Hope you see that soon! Heck--I hope WE see that soon!
Have a great OP day everyone!
Susan
techwife 03-17-2005, 01:41 PM :p Erin go Bragh, Everyone!! :p
Well, I, for one, have been grocery shopping today. It was half price week at Price Chopper today and I had a blast!! Grapes were only 98 cents a pound!! But I got the 1.99 ones anyway because they were sweeter and I'd rather spend more money on good ones than get cheap ones that make my face suck in they're so sour. But I'm all stocked up on oranges, apples, peppers, kiwis, strawberries and even got blueberries for my smoothies!! Cindy always has blueberry smoothies and I thought they sounded good...
The weather is warm-ish today...36...anything above zero is warm to me this year :( , but the sky is cloudy. But I'm happy to say there are puddles in my driveway instead of all frozen ice!! That's a start!!
Today I'm takign my ds to a special story hour at the library and bought some extreeeeemly illegal cupcakes at the store with really pretty green frosting. Will load up on something legal before I go so I don't do bad things. :^: The kids like it and I always like sending kids home with their parents all hopped up on sugar... It's the same as buying someone else's kids toys that make loud obnoxious noises. Which I NEVER do!! ;) But my ds loves story hour and will do really, really well at preschool this fall, I'm sure. He was in the Playplace at McDonald's last week and there were about a dozen 4-year-old boys there and they were all playing duck, duck, goose in one of the interior rooms and my son was just dying laughing and had such a great time.
Anyhow..I have to whip up something for lunch...I'm sure I'll find plenty...I love grocery shopping day. As you guys know, few things will stand in my way between me and price chopper on shopping Thursday!!
BF today was just a slice of 7 grain toast and peanut butter. I was clean out of good things. I think I'm having a baked chicken breast for dinner with a salad and I'm goign to go eat fruit out the wazoo for lunch.
Talk you guys later!!
Kris
heartmom 03-17-2005, 02:56 PM Where is everybody at?!! I feel icky today with T.O.M. arriving and I'm sore and achy from my workout yesterday. I need to feel better by this evening to teach exercise. It's also cold and been rainy and cloudy here. I can't wait for warmer, sunnier, weather. I don't know what's wrong with my scanner, I hate the stupid thing, it's given me trouble from day one. I'll probably have to uninstall and reinstall it, ugh. Oh yea, today I am at 162. Getting better. Here's my menu.
BF- scrambled eggs(1 yolk, 4 whites)cooked with spinach and onion in olive oil.
Lunch- will be a full bowl of leftover pork stew
Snack- probably yogurt
Supper- Cooking baked chicken, green beans, and squash
Check back when I figure this scanner out!
heartmom 03-17-2005, 03:24 PM Scanner is now working. The first pic is of Boogie and me at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia last month. This was taken just as we were leaving after a whole day of testing. The second pic is Boogie and Mickey. It has a blue tint because Robby had turned down my megapixels on my dig cam and all the Disney pics have this ugly blue tint! I'll get the others developed and will post them this weekend. Hopefully, they'll be alot better. Oh yea, and the 3rd blue pic is Robby, Boog, and Ashley at the Nemo statues. In person, the colors were really vibrant.
heartmom 03-17-2005, 03:31 PM Here's the link again to the story that ran the day we left for Disney(made front page).

Solly 03-17-2005, 03:56 PM Happy St. Patrick's Day :)
Hope no one got pinched today for not wearing any green. I only have one green sweater so I'm safe.
Bunco was fun last night. Won 4th prize. Really ot sure what it is yet. Some type of glass wind chime hanging thing. Nothing really to chime against so not quite sure what to do with it.
Her menu was potato soup :( and salad. I had a small amount of the soup. I didn't want to hurt her feelings but also I can hardly eat it since I ate it during chemo and now I can't hardly stand those foods. I did pass on dessert though. Chocolate mint ice cream pie.
Since I had the soup, I skipped the bun on my burger today. Gotta make it up somewhere. The scale was the same today so that is good.
Been tied up in a meeting all morning and then lunch and had to watch the end of the big game. UK pulled it out, but should have blown them out. Alabama is looking like they are going to lose big time.
Cindy, anytime you can get a 2 hour lunch, its good.
Gator, I think the golf tournament might be a bit much for your DH. But I understand how stubborn they can be. Good luck to your Gators tomorrow, Ky just beat EKU, but not by what they should have.
Monet, those kids can drive you batty. They never want to do the sensible thing. My DD wanted me to give her the money to go to Fla last week. After I had paid off 2 credit card bills for her. I don't think they will ever grow up.
Heart, I'm glad the trip had some fun for the kids. I can't imagine someone stealing your sweater. The scale is coming down, Keep up the good work. Cute pics. Boogie has gotten so big. I can't beleive it was so cold You are looking great, BTW. Don't be so hard on yourself. I tried to open that article and couldn't.
Susan your trip sounds so neat.
Kris, I love it when the fridge and cupboards are full of good food. It is a god feeling. You crack me up about the toys and the sugar. I HATE noisy toys. Never would let my kids hafe them. I know mean mom.
Got to go to cut pies and dish up slaw tonight and then we will go somewhere for :p . Gotta get some corn beef somewhere.
Have a great :) and OP evening. Watch out for the green beer.

heartmom 03-17-2005, 04:05 PM Well, crap, it still ended up showing the same link. Dunno??
heartmom 03-17-2005, 04:07 PM Trying one last time!
http://www.meridianstar.com/articles/2005/03/02/local_news/news_stories/a1-disneykid.txt
heartmom 03-17-2005, 04:09 PM I tried the link, and it works for me. ??
Ellen 03-17-2005, 06:07 PM Lunch was an open face ham sandwich, and water. Snack was a plum. Walking at the mall sure felt good. I hope the weather clears off so I can walk outside tomorrow and over the weekend.
HEART: The first link was a dud, the second one took me to the registration page, where I registered. Then it allowed me to read the story. So it did work! Great story! I am glad Boogie got to meet Mickey! :) I am glad you got your scanner working. I wanted to help, but my son installed mine for me, and if it messed up, I would make him fix it. When he moved in, Tom told him he would have to take the job of network administrator and maintenance. :)
FILLISE: Laura made it to Tampa! Crazy girl...and she is not going to be able to lay out on a beach today...its raining down there too! I sure hope the weather improves soon. Tom told me it was supposed to clear off some after 1, and its 5 and its still gray and nasty out! I would go find the weather man and smack him if it would help!
JACK: Good job on passing up the dessert. Today, when I went and walked at the mall, my neighbor got an Orange Julius. She told me she was sure there was no sugar in it. I have never had one, so she gave me a sip. It was awful sweet...I did not think it was worth cheating for, so I passed on getting one.
TECH: My mother used to love to buy noisy presents for her grandkids. My sister asked her why she did that one Christmas when there were four two year olds in the family. My mother just smiled and said, "In less than a week, you will all be going home, and taking the toys with you. Perhaps its a bit of a payback." Can you believe it? At least my two year old's cookie monster piano was not as obnoxious as the battery operated loud mouth singers she gave my sister's two year old! Or the Fisher Price Marching band set she gave other sister's two year old!
Does anyone on here have a juicer? If so, what kind and do you like it? Do you use it?
THE BIG ORANGE BABE 03-17-2005, 07:56 PM HAPPY GREEN BEER DAY EVERY BUDDY!!!
Didn't get pinched today (dangit) and I tried so hard too!..It's still raining down here..we got 3.60 inches of the wet stuff over night. Expecting some more tonight...supposed to be sunny tomorrow though!
SUSAN.... OH.....MY....GAWD!!!! Y'all are going to be gone the first part of May? WHAT IN THE WORLD WILL THE GOOD PEOPLE OF AUBURN ALABAMA DO WITHOUT SUSAN'S DERBY PARTY??????????
LAURIE...Pictures are great....if you get tired of Robby....send him this way...he's a CUTIE!!! I had to register with the paper, and I haven't read the article yet, but will do that when I'm done here. My Cousin's Son was born with MD..he had a stroke in the womb, and God love him, he lived two weeks shy of his 21st birthday which was about 17 yrs longer than they said he
would. The Wish Network sent him on his dream trip....to see his beloved CUBBYS play baseball...He got to meet all the team, go down on the field and into their locker room....he was in HOG HEAVEN and talked about it all the time. This group does so many good things, and I'm so glad that Boogie got to go on his dream trip! He is so cute!!!!!
BOB has a permanant NONUNION of the PATELLA....which mean, it's gone together as far as it's going to...I can live with the pain, it's not to bad unless I'm on it for a long time and then it swells. We're just going to play it by ear and see. BUT....NOW...I HAVE ANOTHER PINCHED NERVE ON THE RIGHT SIDE....travels all the way to the tips of my fingers which didn't happen on the right side. I went to Employee Health today to report it as a work related incident, but they think once the W/C people review my chart and see that the other Doc says the left side wasn't work related that they will deny this claim too. I got an order yesterday from my Medical Doc for an MRI, but now, I need to wait to see what the W/C people say before doing anything further.
JACKIE....COULDN"T BELIEVE MY EYES WHEN I SAW THE SCORE!!!!! The Colonels has a really good team to hold THE CATS to a low score like that....NOW...if only SOUTH FLORIDA can do THE GATORS in tonight... I know...I know...I should be pulling for the SEC teams, but DANGIT.........well, you know how I feel!!!!
GATOR...Good luck tonight.....but we're pulling for SOUTH FLA her in the PAGE HOUSE tonight...Kate's about worn out...She's been coaching all day...The KENTUCKY GAME just about did her in!
Tell HUBBY to be careful and not do to much too soon...there will be other golf tourneys!
MONET>..I just have the kind of juicer that extracts orange or grapefruit...it's an OSTER and we love it...are you talking about the kind that does veggies and such? Heard from LAURA yet?
TECH...AH HA....I see I'm not the only person who samples in the produce section!!!
I'm off to see what I can get in to....
BOB
Cindylcing 03-17-2005, 08:10 PM Just a quick passing . Rough day today at work . Hope everyones day was good !
Todays menu
b- oatmeal, 3 bacon
s- 3 celery stalks with 2 tbl pbutter
l- romaine/spinach salad with diced brocilli and carb options blue cheese, 1/2 cup cantaloupe
s- was supposed to be a tangerine but some stuff came up at work and I never got around to eating it .
d- chicken breast, 1 cup califlower steamed with shredded cheese and 1 tsp sourcream
s- best have the tangerine
Ellen 03-17-2005, 10:21 PM Dinner was good tonight...beef and asparagus stir fried with fermented black beans, with buckwheat soba noodles. YuM! I feel SO much better for having gotten out and walked some today. I need to do that more often. Driving to the mall is a pain, but it was worth it. If it would quit raining, I could walk around here!
BOB: I want a juicer that will do veggies. The more I read, the more confused I become! :) I think I may buy a cheap one, and see how I like juicing before I commit to an expensive one. Laura called last night...she was in Tampa. I know she is bummed about the rain. She was hoping to spend the day laying on the beach in a bikini...even though her mother tried to teach her to wear a one piece modest suit in public! :( They are coming back tomorrow so it was an awfully short trip! I am sorry you are having trouble with the pinched nerve on the other side now. <<hugs>>
CINDY: I am sorry you had a rough day. I hope tomorrow is better! Enjoy the tangerine. The vitamin C will help with the stress!
GatorGal 03-17-2005, 11:13 PM BOB--The Gators play Ohio, not s. FLa.
Jackie--I'm glad that UK pulled it out. I'm sorry that Bama lost. I was hoping that all the SEC teams would go through at least 2 rounds. Hope y'all go far.
Monet--We have a juicer--a Champion. It sits on the counter and looks just like a white motor. My husband goes through spurts where he juices quite a bit and then not at all for several weeks. The juice does taste good and is probably healthy. His holistic doc encouraged him to drink veggie juices. He has a basic recipe where he uses apples, carrots and lemons. Then he adds other things, like ginger, spinach, etc. as the spirit moves him.
Jackie--My DH saw his dr. today and he said that everything looked great and that my DH could do anything he wanted after 3 more days. Even lifting. He probably won't feel like doing that. He still plans on meeting a friend and going out to the tournament for a short time. He has a parking place at a freind's house right across from the course, and probably will just sit in the stands. He has been behaving himself pretty well lately. He is beginning to understand that if he overdoes it he will pay for it.
It has been raining cats and dogs all day today. So no walking for me. I did go to lift weights though. Food was OK except for some cookies that I ate after dinner. I do really well with my regular food, but I nibble on bad stuff. :(
Breakfast--oatmeal with sk. milk
Lunch--1 sl. SGWW bread with p-nut butter and SF jelly, 1 cup split pea soup
Dinner--large green salad with tomatoes, onion, ham, avocado, cheese and 2 baby carrots.
Cookies.
Hope everyone had a nice St. Patty's day.
Ellen 03-18-2005, 10:00 AM Good Morning! Its sunny and blue skies here! Yay!
I just finished breakfast: a 2 egg scrambled egg sandwich with RF cheddar cheese and homemade mayo on 2 slices of ww bread. I woke up with a taste for one...and it was yummy!
I am on my second cup of coffee, and I have to leave in a few minutes to go do worship guides at church. I am hoping James will stay awake. I have tried to get him up two or three times, and I am hoping this time he stays up! He went to an Irish pub with a friend last night and I think he must have drunk too many Guinnesses. :)
GATOR: Thanks for the info on the juicer. Champions are one of the more expensive types. I think I will probably buy a cheap one to see if I like it, then if I use it, go for the more expensive model. Mercola recommends an Omega 8003, which does just about everything but clean up the kitchen for you. It does all kinds of neat things, but its so pricey...
I need to get out of here! I hope everyone has a great day! I will check in later!
Ellen 03-18-2005, 10:01 AM And since today is Friday Funnies...here is one:
Management Training
An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other and says to the waiter, "Want coffee."
The waiter says, "Sure chief, coming right up." He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee. After drinking the coffee down in one gulp, the Indian turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, then just walks out.
The next morning the man returns. He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other. He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter, "Want coffee." The waiter says, "Whoa, Tonto! We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday. What the heck was all that about, anyway?"
The Indian smiles and proudly says, "Training for upper management position. Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day."
Ellen 03-18-2005, 10:06 AM And another one....
A woman's parable...
One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?"
The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family.
The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set with pearls. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, "No."
The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a silver thimble ringed with sapphires. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. Again, the seamstress replied, "No." The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble.
"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, "Yes." The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.
Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, "Why are you crying?"
"Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!" The Lord went down into the water and came up with Mel Gibson. "Is this your husband?" the Lord asked. "Yes," cried the seamstress.
The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!" The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to Mel Gibson, you would have come up with Tom Cruise. Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT'S why I said 'yes' to Mel Gibson." And so the Lord let her keep him.
The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it's for a good and honorable reason, and in the best interest of others.
That's our story, and we're sticking to it.
GatorGal 03-18-2005, 10:30 AM Monet--We got our Champion juicer several years ago through the internet. We got it from some store in Maine that shipped it free of charge. I don't remember the cost, but I think it might have been $199. It was a real deal. So check around and see what you can find.
Now I see here online (I Googled it) that you can buy a Champion for $179 with free shipping, so I guess I was wrong about our paying $199. Maybe it was $99. Free shipping is a good deal because these things are heavy.
Solly 03-18-2005, 10:40 AM Happy Friday  So glad it is here.
Went to this Irish bar last night. I am too old. There was an $8.00 cover which floored me (it was $10 when we left). Beers were $3 and mixed drinks were $4.25 and about 4 oz. I could have peed more in the cup than they gave you to drink. Needless to say, I had 1 drink. We were with friends and our DD or I wouldn't have paid that price to get in. Ridiculous. Dinner ended up being taco salad from taco bell. Insides only.
We have a wedding reception tomorrow night. I can't stand the bride and the groom is not one of my favorite people. But we feel we have to go and DH doesn't like to pass up a party with free beer. :D Plus I'm gonna miss the UK game. Which might be a good thing.
Monet, you were smart to pass the orange julius. There are loaded with sugar. You can watch them put it in. We haven't had any of those around for years. I used to love them. Of course. Bummer that it has rained on Laura's vacation. I got a kick out of the one piece line.
Bob, I can't believe you have another pinched nerve. Do they have any idea what causes this? Tell kate to be coaching realy hard tomorrow night. I think Cinn may be a handful.
Cindy, hope today is a better day for you.
Gator, boy it seems like DH has been released pretty quickly. No sense in overdoing though. You know how men have to be macho around other men. Pulling for the Gators today. Cute jokes.
Gonna go pay bills on line and maybe do some work today ;) Have a great OP day.
techwife 03-18-2005, 11:18 AM Just a quick fly-by. The sun is shining like blazes this morning!! I'd open the windows, but it's only 29 degrees!! But it looks good, that's for sure, and the sun is warm if you get out of the breeze...the higher it gets in the sky, the more it warms you in spite of the cold temps!! AND I had my oil changed the other day and got one of those little pine trees for the scent (they're made here in Watertown, by the way...they have a giant air freshener tree outside the factory!!), I got strawberry, and with the sun so warm and my van facing south, when I get it, it smells divine!!
Anyhow...I have a quick question...is vanilla extract okay? I know when I had a short stint trying South Beach, a desert they recommended was ricotta cheese mixed with vanilla extract, or other extracts for other flavors, but I assumed that since the ingredients are, WAter, caramel color, vanillin, ethyl vanillin and 0.1% potassium sorbate, (okay, so it's imitation vanilla and not pure vanilla extract...that's expensive and I go through a LOT with my smoothies!!) it doesn't seem like there is any sugar in it and it seems legal....so, therefore, my two capfuls in my smoothies is okay?
That being said...you Orange Julius lovers, assuming that vanilla is okay, should try my smoothies...with a cup of yogurt, a spoonful of splenda, two capfuls of vanilla, a half cup of skim milk if needed, blended into previously crushed ice, then add a whole orange (peeled, of course  ) cut up into pieces...it tastes JUST LIKE an orange julius...well...okay..maybe not JUST like one, but if ou close your eyes and use your imagination, its pretty dern close!!
Well, this quickie it turning into a longie...I have to go get cleaned up for Girl Scouts!!
Bye, guys!!
Kris
CountryMom4Him 03-18-2005, 12:13 PM Thanks for the warm welcome back. Heart, you are a tiny little thing. You don't look at all like winter has been cruel to you. Boogie is a little cutie!
Jackie...I had to laugh about your drink size last night. Sorry to hear about your hurt hinney. One day a few weeks ago I was walking on mama's treadmill and she thought or should I say didn't think...LOL and was gonna jump on the back. She feel and hit her arm and head before it even registered to me to turn off the machine. Of course she had to tease my slow reflexes. :)
Monet..thanks for this mornings funnies.
Tech...wtg on your new low.
Love and hugs,
Crystle
Ellen 03-18-2005, 03:38 PM Hey everyone! I just got in from my stint at the church office, and lunch. The ad min bought a used saddle stitcher for me to use...and it works wonderfully! It staples the worship guides beautifully, and with no repetitive pounding by me! It has a foot pedal! Very cool! Its not a lot faster, but perhaps I will get faster as I get used to using it.
I called my neighbor as I was driving home, and stopped to get her and we went to my favorite Japanese place for lunch. I got the teriyaki chicken and a California roll. THEN, the owner came to talk with me...she always does that...and told me they have brown rice! I did not know that, but from now on, I will order that when I go there! I told her to try and figure out how to make sushi with the brown rice, and she would have tons of Sugarbusters, and South Beachers in there!
Its beautiful out! The sky is blue and sun is shining....its a bit cool, but the sunshine has me happy!
I will check in a bit later!
THE BIG ORANGE BABE 03-18-2005, 06:04 PM T. G. I. F EVERY BUDDY!!!!
MAN....Am I glad this week is over! With this pinched nerve, it makes my day so long and so painful.
MONET...It's BEAUTIFUL down here today...Hope LAURA GOT SOME SUN!!!
GATOR...I feel like a DITZ....I got in on the tail end of a report and got my info screwed up! Sorry!
COUNTRY....{{{{{WELCOME BACK GIRLFRIEND!!!!}}}}}}}}}}
TECH...I absolutly love ORANGE JULIUS....I'll have to try your recipe...thanks~!
JACKIE...KATE will have her chair right up on the TV SCREEN!!! Are you kidding...she's worse than TUBBY!!!
 CINDY!!!!
I'm off to BLOCKBUSTER....
BOB
GatorGal 03-18-2005, 06:16 PM BOB--You are only a semi-ditz LOL :) Actually the LADY Gators played USF yesterday in the NIT for women and they lost. So you can be happy over that loss. The Gators beat Ohio University today by, I think, 5 points, and they played like doodoo. Jackie can probably identify after the Cats' game against the other Ky. team in the first round. The Gators played like KY. Not so great. But they won and are in the second round. Probably against Villanova. They will have to play better to get to the sweet 16.
The weather here is getting nice. A little coolish today but tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's. Hope Laura gets some nice sun.
My DH is going to take me out to dinner tonight. He is feeling great. Someone gave him a huge Easter lily and he was smart enough to get someone to carry that heavy plant down to his car. He figured he'd be stupid to carry it himself. But the dr. said he could do anything he wanted. He IS going to the golf tournament tomorrow.
This is a big weekend in this area. There is a huge juried art show in a town about 5 miles from my house. A big event in these parts. I just got home from that and have to say that despite the high prices, the art was pretty good. It is composed of artists from all over the country, and there are no knitted doilies or decorated brooms in this art show. I saw a silversmith there who had an exhibit of silverware that she had hammered out of a bar of solid silver. It was beautiful, but at $17000 for 8 place settings, it should be.
Ellen 03-18-2005, 07:39 PM BOB and GATOR: I guess Laura got to enjoy the sunshine as they were driving...she was supposed to leave Tampa this morning, and drive straight through to be back in time to get enough rest to go to work tomorrow morning!
Its awfully late, and I have no idea where my husband is. Either he decided to work late, and forgot to call, which is VERY unusual, or he was working out and forgot to call...also VERY unusual...or he is shopping for something. :s: I hope its the latter...
GATOR: Enjoy your dinner out. Where will you go? I am hoping I can talk Tom into dinner out tonight...but probably not. :(
Cindylcing 03-18-2005, 10:08 PM Im sorry another quick reply. Just got home from the hospital . My dad was taken in through emergency and admitted ( hes had quite a few trips the past 4 months) long story on that. Hope everyones week went well!
todays menu
b- mock danish, 1 slice ww lc toast
s- lc yogurt
l- leftover chicken, 3 oz
s- 2 triscuits
d- Steak griller ( from Outback) asked for no rice but replaced it with steamed brocilli, salad with Ranch
Ellen 03-19-2005, 12:52 AM Just watched a movie with Tom. It was Girl With A Pearl Earring, based on the painting of that name by Vermeer. It was a great movie...I would recommend it. Especially for the insight into the way a painter sees....
I skipped dinner tonight. I was not hungry and thought why bother? Everyone else scrounged. That means they ate leftovers or whatever they could find. :)
CINDY: I hope your dad is ok! Keep us posted...I will keep him and your fam in my prayers....
Ellen 03-19-2005, 12:54 AM I forgot to mention one of the best parts of that movie..it stars Colin Firth as Vermeer...
hubba hubba!
techwife 03-19-2005, 09:14 AM Eh-hem....check out my ticker!! :dancer:
Will do replies on Monday...have a great weekend, everyone!!
Ellen 03-19-2005, 10:01 AM  :cb:  :cb:
Woo Hoo! Yeah, Kris! Way to go! Are you still taking the vitamin C?
Ellen 03-19-2005, 10:08 AM Good Morning! I have a busy day ahead of me! I am out of eggs, and milk, so I will make a grocery run to Harry's/Whole Foods for those. Tom and James are supposed to try and get his car running today...its been sitting in the parking lot at his work for over six months! I hope they can, as it would help everyone a LOT if he had a car to go to work in. Laura's car is still dicey. She got in last night, and went out with a friend who works at a camp for troubled teens up in north Georgia. He only gets the weekends off now and then, so she wanted to see him. James went along, and they got in really late. I hope she doesn't fall asleep at work, since she had to open this morning! Kids!
The sun is shining, and it is supposed to go up to the high sixties. I am going to prune my roses today. :( I hate doing it, but it is time. Then I need to fertilize them, and spray them for blackspot.
I hope to get in a good walk today as well. I am hoping to see some improvement on the scale soon. I need to get the cheats behind me. :( I keep expecting the doorbell to ring, and it be Jack with a stick to beat me with. Or maybe Jack AND Fillise, Fillise to kick me, Jack to whack me with a stick and Bob, waiting outside with the wagon. I sure need it.
Happy Saturday,everyone!
Ellen 03-19-2005, 01:26 PM Reporting on my menu for the day so far. Breakfast was granola with almond milk. Lunch was three scrambled eggs, NSA apple juice, and two brown rice cakes. I will probably snack on a plum if they are ripe enough. If not, I may eat a green tipped banana.
I am going to try and eliminate wheat, and dairy for a few weeks and see how I feel. I have tried to do this before, and never carried through. I really want to get through a week and see whether it helps. I am planning on trying a juice fast as well, to detox. Amazon ships my order next Thursday...so I hope it gets here soon after that.
I need to go prune roses...my lunch break is over. I went to Harry's/Whole Foods, on to the next chore!
THE BIG ORANGE BABE 03-19-2005, 07:47 PM MONET
With Jackie at a wedding reception that she doesn't want to go to, Susan had somethig to do today, so that leaves me....if you had beckoned earlier, I would have hitched up the horses and the ole wagon would have been almost there!
Lazy day here. After I took my drugs, I passed out and Kate woke me up at 5:30 p.m.
the whole afternoon was gone!
One of my favorite movies is on tonight THE TEN COMMANDMENTS....can't decide to watch that or the movies I got.
Later
BOB[/b]
Ellen 03-19-2005, 08:31 PM I am cooking chicken parmesan sausage from the farmer's market, brown rice pasta and spinach for dinner. The pasta is not cooking up very well. I got it at the HFS in the bulk bins, with no directions for cooking...so I had to experiment. Looks like I failed! :)
I got three roses pruned before Tom pressed me into going for a walk. The walk was nice, but I still have about 50 roses to prune. :( He said he would do it under my supervision, so I may just do that tomorrow. I get to be the bday tyrant anyway, I may as well take advantage of it.
I better go check on the stupid pasta.
Cindylcing 03-19-2005, 08:34 PM Todays just been hectic. My dh started laying our tile today (in the kitchen) and so my kitchen was just in a upheavel. I couldnt get to the sink , couldnt get to the dishwasher. And only got half done and the other half has to wait until next weekend. Tomorrow we grout what is finished.
Monet - thank you for the prayers. My dad has pulmonary fibrosis and has been not doing too well since last Nov. It is a condition that will just continue to get worse. This is the 3 ( or 4th, starting to lose count) Time he has been hospitalized since Nov.
Saturdays menu
b- blueberrie smoothie, 3 bacon
s- 3 strawberries
l- 1 lc tortilla with 1/4 cup shredded cheese,1 tsp sour cream, 6 soy teins and 1/2 avacado
s - probably not
d- Chicken ceaser salad, chili pablano, lc tortilla chips & salsa ( had to eat out a second night and not at a resturant of my choice but I did the best I could)
GatorGal 03-19-2005, 11:50 PM Jackie--Well, the Cats had to work hard to get the W. But on to the sweet sixteen. Congrats.
Ellen 03-19-2005, 11:55 PM Laura and I ran out to the outlet mall, thinking it stayed open later than the mall. Wrong...wasted trip! I need to get a birthday present for a friends daughter, and she loves the Sanrio stuff, like Hello Kitty. Tomorrow, I am going to have to go to the mall and get something. Or to the Sanrio store down in China Town.
I am exhausted. The mall we went to was the one that is 3/4 of a mile around. We walked more than half way around, so I got in another 1/2 mile at least.
I am going to go crawl in bed. Good night everyone!
Cindylcing 03-20-2005, 07:06 AM Happy Birthday , MONET !! :gift:
Ellen 03-20-2005, 10:39 AM Good Morning! Happy First Day of Spring! Its a glorious day here in Hotlanta! The sun is shining, the skies are blue, and Monet is heading out to boss Tom around in the garden! See? Men ARE good for something! They make marvelous servants if you train them right!
Breakfast was three eggs, scrambled, a small serving of grits (I know..not legal, but it was not wheat!) and two cups of espresso. Yum! I am now drinking hot tea. AND, the headache I woke up with seems to be going away. Also, I am thinking I see an improvement in my digestive system and gut with only one day off wheat. Interesting...
I slept pretty well last night. I only woke up at 4 for a potty run. I am sure it was the glass of port I had just before I turned in. It may not be the best choice, but if it helps me sleep, I am going to drink it. It may have been a combination of no glucophage before bed, AND the port. Low blood sugar can cause insomnia, and the glucophage is supposed to lower blood sugar levels to lower insulin levels.
CINDY: Thank you ! :) As a first day of spring baby, I am loving today's weather...sunny, blue skies, and mild temps! How is the tiling project coming? I have to refinish the wood floor in my kitchen and I am NOT looking forward to it! We will have to leave home for three days while it dries!
Cindylcing 03-20-2005, 11:52 AM Monet- I am tiled out already and we still have 1/2 more to go next weekend. The grouting has been the worst part of it. Spreading it, cleaning it then polishing off the haze. Im wore out this morning. Then dh let the dogs run across it to go out back and their nails were flinging grout everywhere...I am not a happy camper right now.
We are having another rainy day. I think Im heading to take a nap, seems to be a good day for it.
Sundays menu:
b- 1 slice wwlc toast, 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
l- 3 oz sliced turkey breast, 10 soy teins and 1/2 avacado
s- 3 celery stalks with LF creamcheese
d- lamp chops marinated and seasoned, califlower casserole, romaine/spinach salad with LF ranch.
s- plain yogurt with 1/4 cup blueberries.
Ellen 03-20-2005, 12:20 PM NEWS FLASH!!! We got 12 roses pruned this morning...and only 24 more to go! (actually, more like 30 more to go, but don't tell Tom...) It sure is easy when you can just stand there, and tell someone, "cut there, cut there, remove that cane there..." tee hee! We shovel pruned two so far...that means we decided they were not worth keeping and pulled them out. :) By Mother's Day, I ought to have roses blooming....
Time for a shower, then off to the mall to go to the Sanrio store....
THE BIG ORANGE BABE 03-20-2005, 01:51 PM HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE HOTLANTA BABE!!!!!
Hope you have a great day and do everything that you want to!
I've got 462 days worth of laundry to do, so not much to say here....
CINDY...I'm sorry about your Dad have problems...I must have missed the original post on that...He has my thoughts
Later GIRLS

Toni48 03-20-2005, 04:05 PM Happy Birthday Monet.... Hope you're having a great day.....
catchinup 03-20-2005, 04:49 PM Hi everyone. I'm new here and just getting started (for the 2nd time) with the Sugar Busters Diet. I had success with it a few years ago when I only needed to use about 10 lbs. Well, I'm back now with a need to loose about 30.
I just had my 2nd child on 2/4 and while pregnant managed to pack on 45 lbs. It wouldn't be so bad if I had lost more after delivery but I came home only 10lbs lighter than when I arrived at the hospital and my son was 7.4lbs. Since then I have only managed to loose another 14lbs. I am 42 years old and I know alot of it has to do with my age and inactivity. My mother was constantly battling the bulge and I'm assuming my obsession has alot to do with what I saw her going thur most of her life.
So I started the SB diet this week and have managed to loose a few lbs. already. It was coming off nicely the first few days (yes, I'm a daily weigher) getting me from 166 to 162 but I've stalled the last few days. I know I need to excersize at some point during my day but right now it is so difficult with a 6 week old and a 3 year old. By the time dh arrives home from work, its get dinner going, clean up the dishes, bath the kids, and then of course put them to bed. I'm hoping someone has been thru this and can give me some ideas on how to manage some time and energy for excersize. I'm a little depressed since I have never looked as bad as I do now. My dh is so sweet, reminding me that 'you just had baby'.
I don't mean to ramble just looking for some support and information regarding the program. I recall when I was on SB before there was a website that had alot of info regarding legal foods but for the life of me I cannot find it. Does anyone know the site I am referring to?
Well I know I'm hopping on at the tail end of a weekly support thread so I hope some of you do see this post. Thank you for listening and if you have any pointers I am more than interested in hearing them.
Looking forward to particapating.
Charlie
Ellen 03-20-2005, 04:58 PM CATCH: Welcome! I am so glad you joined our group! I hope you find all the support you need here to reach your goals! Its a great group! Just get on frequently and post...jump right in! I find the more I post, the better I do! My pointer would be, start out staying legal, but not worrying about the size of your portions. Once you get the white stuff out and over the sugar cravings, then work on the amounts.
 Gotta go get ready for church tonight...and afterwards, we go for my birthday dinner with a big group of friends to my fav restaurant...I share a birthday with their daughter, so I went and got her some Hello Kitty stuff....gotta get it wrapped!

Ellen 03-21-2005, 01:22 AM Evening everyone! The party tonight was a blast! There were over 40 people there, and we filled the place up! The food was fabulous as usual, and I am SO stuffed! I had an asparagus roll, a crunchy shrimp roll, vegetable tempura, and gyoza. Then they brought out this fabulous cake! Oh my! It was delicious. We made short work of it, and I ate two pieces! Everyone sang Happy Birthday...twice! The cake was decorated with real roses, and filled with strawberries. Now I feel almost sick from being so full! I don't know how I am going to go to sleep tonight feeling like this!
Sweet dreams everyone! :)
