Weekly Challenges:

1. Water, water, water! Drink your eight and more! Dehydration can cause unbalances in the body that make weight loss difficult. The more you weigh, the more you need, so drink up!

2. Get in your three times of exercise and post it on the board! (you are all doing awesome by the way!)

3. Get at least four Xs or Os on your calendar this week! You get one for staying totally on program for the day! No cheats!

4. New one! Try a new SB legal recipe and report to your pals here how it was!

Go out there, and MAKE this a good week! YOU CAN DO IT!

:high: :cheer: :tread: :goodluck: :drill: :cp: :strong: :coach:

Happy Monday.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Our weather was beautiful. I think it was inthe high 50's all weekend and like that today, except they are calling for rain for the next 5 days. I even washed my car by hand :D

I am so pleased with myself. My eating all weekend was steller. I even made ww tottillia chips to take to the super bowl party and I took my ww crackers with me. I had chili with no spaghetti and only ate a few of the chips I brought. I was really worried that I would blow the whole day. I did have 1 bite of a brownie and 1 bite of a chess square. But that's all. The scale was even down 1 pound today. I did have lots to drink but will work on that after I get the food down.
Bob, how exciting with all those stars milling around. Getting any autographs? Don't think I want any pictures of this mess. It makes me look very old.

Cindy, it amazes me how many different nutrition plans recommend eliminating the sugar and of course whole grains. I try to avoid caffine too. Only drink decaf coffee and soft drinks. At least you had a legal dinner at Outback even though you were stuffed.

Missy, I hope you gave Ashley a big hug from me and told her to get her butt back on this board. have fun today and be careful. Hope the "rain" holds off.

Gator, I dropped my pedometer a month ago and it wasn't working correctly. I need to see if it just needs resetting or if it is broken. I was so glad to see the Gators beat Alabama. Now that pretty much cinches the SEC championship for the Cats if they don't get stupid between now and then. We have tickets to the Georgia game next Sat. I am excited.

Monet, congrats on all those steps you got in over the weekend. You menu sounds awesome, but sorry to say I would probably not eat anything on there. I'm sure you will pull it off with glory. Your guests should be honored. When is the CYN anyway? Hope Tom is feeling better. You amaze me, dinner for 40. I would have to order from KFC or pizza for that many.

Better get started here.

Oh, I'm already ahead on the challenge to make the SB recipe. I made Deb's cheesecake for a co-workers's birthday. Put strawberries on top. Yum! Already had a piece and I think it is the best one I have ever made. It was so creamy.

have a great day

Happy Monday!!

No sign of my raffle tickets. But I know who bought some and how many they bought, so when I pay for them I can be sure they still get entered into the drawing. What a pain, though! One last place I need to check is the library. They're only open T/Th/F/S, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to check...but I may or may not have taken them there to see if I could sell more and then left them behind. I'm hoping that maybe I misplaced them and then someone maybe returned them to the ice skating club and they'll tell me mine have been turned in. And I'm really happy my hubby gave me an abbreviated lecture on how much money we don't have, etc, etc... Just before he was about to get on his soapbox, my son asked me about my wedding ring and I said Daddy gave it to me because he wants to love me forever, even if I'm a nincompoop sometimes. And that kind of summed it up and blew the wind out of his sails.

So, we'll pay for the ticket that everyone has already paid for and then if we come across the money, we'll be reimbursed.

STILL, the scale says 170, right on the money. I think maybe it's broken and is so used to reading 170 that it doesn't know how to read anything else  In it's defense, I did eat two slices of illegal pizza. I've come to the conclusion that this is my biggest weakness. But I did go for a brisk walk to get cheese yesterday, about a mile and a half. It was soooo nice out...about 45 degrees and the birds, that seem to come out of nowhere, were chirping and the snow is starting to melt. Of course, it's supposed to go back down to the 20's this weekend...which is par for the course around here for February, but its always nice to get a break here and there.

I have a little sicko home from school today. Both kids got up this morning with nasty coughs. Of course, now that she's secured her sick day, her coughing has all but stopped completely. That's fine, though...I hate when people send their kids to school sick and end up getting my kids sick, so I have to not be hipocritical and keep mine home in case she's got a real bug, right? I understand, most people work and if the kids have to stay home, they have to take a day off of work, but I'm home to take care of the kids and things are different here...

Well, off to make breakfast!!

Hi everyone,
The weekend passed with a couple of slips, but nothing major. We went out to eat Fri night and I had some of the angel hair pasta(it was a side dish and I didn't even eat 1/2 of it), then we went out Sat night too, and I had about 1/2 of the rice side dish, and 3 bites of banana cream pie. Yesterday I actually did well, no beer, only a couple of potato chips, did manage to eat about 10 chicken wings. But I think I balanced out OK in the calorie dept. I should have had more water though...I have packed my healthy lunch, so between that and the gym today, I should be good for today at least.
I also checked out a new(to me anyway) yarn shop. They were having a sale and the place was packed, so I didn't stay too long. But picked up some neat line yarn and a pattern for a string bag(like the european shopping bags). Will try it this week. Also plan on bowling tonight.

techwife - sounds like you'll be busy today, kids home from school always seems like a holiday, even when they're sick.

Jack-K - you rock! What awesome eating you're doing. I need to be more like you.

Monet - dinner for 40? You're brave, hope that it's something scrumptiously OP(and that no one realizes it's healthy). I have enough trouble when it's 6 or 8.....

Have a great day everyone!

Hi all! I've introduced myself on the other baords, but wanted to know if I could join your weekly support board. I LOVE Sugar Busters!! I have lost weight on it once before, and plan to do so again. I have a lot of baby weight to lose, (I have a 4 month old). I also have a 5 year old, and a 3 year old. So some days its a struggle to eat completely OP. Luckily my kids loves fruits and veggies, and its not so hard with them, its the hubby that makes it hard sometimes. We had a superbowl party last night, and I did GREAT!! I only had chili, and the some veggies with lite ranch dressing............ I was sooooo proud of myself. Especially since there was tortilla chips with white cheese dip (which I LOVE!), but I've done great. So far today I've had 2 slices ww toast with Smuckers Natural peanut butter. Have to down the water today......that's hard for me. =) Hope to get to know you all better!!

Good morning all... Well Yippee Skippy I finally got to get back on my TM. It felt so good to finally be doing stuff today. My eating this week end was good except I had some wine Friday and Sat. night. B- peanut butter ww bagel L- BoB's spicey black bean soup D- Rotissare roast based in Italian marinade, green salad.

Monet- Thanks for starting the board. I'm busy drinking my water. Think my spicey bean soup will be my SB legal recipe. I hope your dinner turns out good. So sorry your DH is sick.

Jack-K- wow you did great with your eating. How great to bring legal stuff to eat....

Tech- Oh I hope you find the tickets... And I hope your little ones get over their coughs...

woodfrogs- OH wow the string bag sounds wonderful. Hope you'll post a picture of it when you get done.

Well better get dressed and make my soup so it will be ready for my hubby at lunch......

Good Morning:

I am naughty, naughty, naughty.....the scale actually showed 120.5# at one point over the weekend, and today....123.5#. I know it will be down at least a pound by tomorrow, but it is totally warranted. I had the most carb-ridden starchy day yesterday. We started off w/ legal pancakes for BF (but still starchy). I took the girls to the outlet mall for awhile, and we got Auntie Anne pretzels (not legal, and starchy). I had flax chips with cheese dip (starchy), and cooked a bunch of finger foods for the Super Bowl, along with fruits and veggies. BUt, I still had little pita bowls, stuffed mushroom pockets, mini pigs in a blanket, chips.....all starchy and mostly illegal. It's a new day and a new attitude. I have only had a fruit protein smoothie so far today, and I will keep the rest of the day legal. I will workout this afternoon, and on workout days, I usually get chili and a side salad at Wendy's.

The George Strait concert was a lot of fun. The opening acts were great, and George was awesome. We did have to leave before the concert was over though. The sitter got worried about Britt. She had one of her coughing attacks, and it scared the sitter and she didn't know how to handle it. I told her to get her in a steamy bathroom and to put some Vick's on her chest and to give her a spoonful of honey and we would be home as soon as we could get there (we were at least 45-60 minutes away). By the time we got home, Britt was sound asleep on the couch. She felt so guilty. I told her that she did the right thing and not to worry about it. We were able to avoid all the after concert traffic this way.

Thanks for the challenges Monet, and for starting the board again! I hope to meet most of the challenges. I actually made a red bean/rice recipe over the weekend that I will post sometime this week. I also made another recipe that is semi-legal. It is a chicken crock-pot recipe, but you layer potatoes in the recipe. I just ate mine without. I'll post that one too.

Monet: I am so glad that you found your wedding ring. Your CNY sounds yummy and like a lot of work. I hope you enjoy it. How many do you expect to attend?

Angelnic: Welcome aboard; we are pleased to have you. You must definately have your hands full w/ 3 children, so young....Kudos to you. You will lose that baby weight in no time, esp. since you are familiar w/ SB, and you know what to do/not to do. Glad you did so well during the Super Bowl festivities; I did terrible.

Wood: Great job over the weekend!!

Tech: I hope your kiddos are feeling better soon; I can definately relate. Better to err on the side of caution. Britt always picks something up from others at school and then brings it home to share ;) . I don't mind keeping her home, especially at this age. Sometimes, just a good day's rest will help them mend much sooner. I sure hope you find those tickets.

Jack: You must be so proud of yourself; you did awesome over the weekend. I just turned into a little hog and didn't stop until I was nearly stuffed....shame on me; I know better. I cannot believe it has been a year since your surgery. I remember when you came on the board and informed us all about what was going on; it seems like just yesterday, although probably feels like an eternity for you. So glad that it is behind you, and will hopefully just remain a part of your past.

I hope everyone else did well over the weekend, and if not....that they will come aboard and confess their sins.....  .

My Mom's Club is going to Macaroni Grill for our MNO on Wed. Any legal dishes there????

I hope to take the girls to the new Winnie-the-Pooh movie this weekend, and will only have a little bit of popcorn.

Well, I gotta run.

Have a great, OP day!

Well it is raining like cats and dogs here. I hate to have to travel out to the hospital in this weather. It is a 30 minute drive there and at least 45 home with no rain. Yuk!

I have a port tenderloin in the crock pot with some green beans. Hope it hasn't cooked to death by the time someone gets home.

I sure hope to get my Treadmill in tonight and wts. I woke up at 3:00 and could not get back to sleep and I have to get up early tomorrow for a dr appt and Wed too so I can go to church before work for Ash Wed. I hope I get a second wind before I get home.

Tech, I hate that you did not find the tickets. Maybe you will tubmle on them somewhere. If you know pizza is your downfall, try to figure a way to keep you from going off plan with it. How about making your own ww one at home? Does anyone make ww pizzas? or we have places that have low carb pizza and also some without the crust at all (my favorite). I have made them on ww pita bread too. As a last resort, just eat the topping off and leave the crust, and add a salad. Just some thoughts.

Barbara, doesn't sound like you did too bad this weekend. I didn't have beer, but lots of wine and my oj/cranberry/vodka drinks.

Angela, welcome. sounds like you are doing great on SB. Of course youare welcome to join us, the more the merrier. Congrats on passing up those chips. You could make some of your own from ww tortillias and then you could enjoy your cheese in moderation.

Toni, glad to hear you are back on the :treadmill: Funny how we miss something like exercise.

Nat, I'm sorry you all had to leave the concert early. But I'm sure you were worried about Britt. It seems everytime you plan a night out, one of the kids is sick. I know the chicken marasala is legal at Macaroni Grill. Just watch out for the bread.

Monet, how's your dinner coming?

Have a great evening.

A quick fly by here...I just got in from the leadership meeting. I am beat! I went to four stores today and could not find the instant hon dashi I like. I know they would have had it at the store Kengjw goes to near me, but by the time I had checked two closer stores, I was out of time! Grrrr. The miso soup was ok with half the amount of hon dashi so it was not too bad, just frustrating! I had a ton of soup and noodles left, but they inhaled the chicken and green beans!

I am tired and I still need to unpack the stuff from the trunk of my car. I just came right in to check on Tom, who stayed home from work sick today...first time in close to four years! Wow...

 Check you all later!

Hello everyone--
First, thanks to MONET for starting the board this week. You are so faithful, Monet, and we all benefit from your comittment. Thanks!! :cheer:

Jackie--I hope that your trip to the hospital went OK. By now you are back home all safe and sound.

Monet--Did I miss your posting of your CNY menu. I'm still dying to see it so I can drool.

I got 12918 steps today. I'll have to post it on the exercise board. I also did my weight training with my PT. He started me on a new routine where I do a lot more with free weights. I have a bad shoulder, where the nerve was damaged when I was born. As a result, I cannot lift my left arm up all the way, and there are a lot of movements I cannot do with it. For example, I cannot extend it out in front of me, palm up. It doesn't hurt, it just doesn't go that way. So, many arm exercises are very difficult for me. I normally do about 10-12 pounds with my right arm and 3 to 5 pounds with my left. Quite a big difference!

I decided to log my steps on the Digi-Walker pedometer website, with a goal of "walking" the California coast. Actually, it will just be the amount of miles for that distance. I had a little trouble getting on the website and so e-mailed the Digi-walker people. They were so helpful and personable, seeming to take a big interest in my use of the pedometer and my ease of use of their steps charting page. They got me all straightened out, so I can now start "walking" in "California."

Not much other news here. Just staying very busy. Take care.

Welcome to Angel.

Hi everyone!
A bit cloudy this morning, but still mild, supposed to be in the 40's. I got tons of exercise yesterday, went to the gym and did my regular routine, then went home and walked on the treadmill, and also went out and bowled 3 games for practice. I posted it all on the exercise board.
Eating yesterday was pretty good too.
Today:
bacon, egg and cheese on roll
apple/orange
carrots
cheese/triscuits
probably ww pizza tonight(homemade)

I've been having a little trouble getting my water in. This isn't usually a problem for me, but I forget to bring my water bottle and it's downhill from there.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Tuesday Morning.

I guess it is still morning. I have been up so long, it feels like it should be lunch time. I had a 7:00 Dr's appt to draw blood so I had to get up 45 minutes earlier today. I'll need a nap later.

Didn't get home until alte last night from the hospital. Dinner was ruined and I was all bummed out. I really didn't feel like exercising, but I made myself do 21 minutes on the :treadmill: I would have done my wts but I had to run papers over to my niece's house and I wanted to get back intime to watch 24. Some is better than nothing.

Monet, I'm sure your dinner was great. I know how much of a perfectionist you are so you want it to be perfect. Hope Tom is feeling better today.

Cindy, my tenderloin was way too dry, but I didn't get home until after 7:00 and 12 hours in the crock pot was too long.

Gator, wow! that's a lot of steps in one day. Be careful and don't walk into the ocean.

Barbara, Wow, that is tons of exercise. You are so committed. I'm envious. Drink up today.

Got to get started on work, I have been doing everything else but. Have a great day.

Kinda busy today...two sick kids at home...

BUT...

My daughter had a question as she was peering over my shoulder...what in the world is that a picture of on the main page of this website? It looks like some sort of weird fruit...but we weren't sure...

Off to take the kids to the doctor...Kris

Flying by, as I will have to leave in a few to take James to work... I seem to have gotten Tom's cold and I feel lousy. I may take it very easy today, though I really don't have the time! :(

TECH: I went and looked...I am not sure what that fruit is. I am willing to bet Gator does, though. The idea of prickly pear comes into my mind, but I don't know where it came from!

GATOR: I posted the menu at the end of last week's board...probably late Saturday or Sunday. If you can't find it, let me know and I will repost it in here. I got RSVPs from four of the six invitees...and the other two are newly weds, and notorious for being air heads, so they will probably be coming, just have not thought to respond. I was happy...it would have been pretty frustrating to plan it all, then have the people you invite not come!

Ok, gotta go...be back later!

Monet--Your dinner menu sounds great. Wish I lived closer, then I would just drop by. Heh, heh, heh. Anyway, good luck on your special dinner. I hope everything turns out perfect!

Re. your pedometer, instead of keeping it in your pocket, loop a rubber band arund the clip on part and fasten it to your pants or shorts with a safety pin. That way it won't fall out of your pocket and get broken. However, the drawback of keeping it in your pocket is that you may forget, and toss the pants into the wash without removing it. Then it is pedometer heaven! You could always leave it sitting on top of your earrings. That way you'd have to touch it to put your earrings on, and then just put your pedometer on at the same time. Or, again, put it on top of your underwear when you take it off at night. It's there waiting for you in the morning when you put on that clean pair. I do wear mine all the time. With a dress, I clip it onto my underwear, always using my "safety strap" of the rubberband and safety pin. I don't want to lose it. I e-mailed the company about the problem of the pedometer flopping open because of the clasp wearing out, and wondering if it was just a hinge problem. The man e-mailed me back and said that it was not a hinge problem but that over the long and daily use the plastic lip had just worn down enough to make it less effective in holding the pedometer closed securely.

I got a morning walk in with my DH, but it was not as long as my usual 2 miles. I will be walking across the campus today, so that will give me some more, and I will walk my usual 2 miles this afternoon after class.

We are having another quiz today in class, so gotta go review.

Fruit, tell us all about your day yesterday.

Good Morning and Happy Mardi Gras!

Hey y'all!! Well, the parade was wonderful! The rain held off and we were able to ride last night. We had so much fun all day - riding around in our bus and bar hopping. We started out with breakfast at 8:00 at town hall, took pictures and then hopped on the bus. We were all very excited that we got to do some riding around on the bus - the last 2 years we were stuck at the same bar for most of the day because it rained so much. That stunk! We headed to the float at 5:00 to start getting our beads ready. We started rolling around 6:30 and ended at town hall at 11:00. There is a party after but I wanted to head home - I was pooped!! As soon as I get my film developed I'll post some for you!!

I'm not sure what's happening today but I'm going to get ready in case we do something!!

I do not want to talk about it. That is, my weight and my eating prior to today. Alright, today is a new day. Oh yea, I heard from Ruby red slippers, she's still doing SB, counting calories, but on the 300 plus board. I wonder what has happened to Country? BOB- I would LOVE to meet Stephen King. I would love to be in his head just for one day to see how he thinks. Anyway, I had a major stomachache this morning so I didn't eat bf until 11, 2 scrambled eggs. Lunch will be in a little bit since I'm starting to feel a little hungry. It will be my famous tuna salad made with veggies, Ranch dressing. I'm skipping the cheese and egg this time. Don't know if I'll have a snack or not, maybe a protein shake or some nuts. For supper, I'm making homemade chicken and veggie soup. It will have fresh green beans, tomatoes, butterbeans, okra, onion, and Dreamfield's noodles in it. I could definetly do without the starch today, but I know it will make it taste better. I'm not weighing until probably Friday. Doesn't help that TOM is almost due. I have to get off this added weight by the weekend since I'm leaving for Philly Sunday morning(my plane takes off before 6 am!). I have no intentions of getting my fat jeans out for the trip. I am looking forward to trying a couple of different foods though. Last time I was there, I ate a roasted zuchinni, squash, and pepper sandwich. It was really good. You just don't find stuff like that here. But I have already made a pact with myself that I won't snack between meals and I'll stay away from the sweets. I'm so sick of sugar right now, I don't even want to look at anything sweet. Never thought I would get to that point. Alright, gals, I gotta run! PS- Keep Boogie and I in your prayers. I'm getting scared thinking about the airplane ride. I haven't rode since he was 6 months old and before 9/11. We leave Sunday and will be back Tuesday evening.

I just woke up from a 30 minute nap. The nap did wonders for me, but I still feel like crap. Thankfully, Tom was sympathetic and cancelled small group at our house tonight. Yay! He is not over this cold/flu/whatever yet, so an early night for both of us will be good. I had already started a big roast in the crockpot, so I can use it for Mexican meat mix, or beef BBQ sandwiches. It smells good right now...and it wonderful that I can actually smell it as congested as I am!

I want to bake my almond cookies today. I blanched some almonds earlier. Boy was that fun! You just put them in a bowl and cover with water, and microwave them for a few minutes. Then all you have to do is pinch the fat end of the almond and it pops right out of the skin! I had forgotten how much fun it was to do that! :)

Ok, I am done with my Coldeze, and I need to go try and get something done before I take another nap! I will check in later.

Hi everyone. I'm sure that everyone hates the scale as much as I do. Yesterday I was 207, this morning I'm 209.5. I don't think I even ate 2.5 pounds of food yesterday all together. So I'm hoping that it's water or something. I actually got in all my water yesterday and exercised. So I'm not sure what's going on there. I did have a headache most of the day yesterday.
Today will be treadmill(if I have time after getting the car inspected this afternoon) and it's bowling league tonight. Tomorrow is a regular gym day.
menu:
bacon, egg, cheese on a roll
carrots/apple/orange
carb control yogurt
not sure about dinner yet, it may be the veggie sub at Subway.
Back to work I go, depressed as I am, and with yet another winter storm hitting us sometime tonight. And the weatherman has predicted anywhere from 2-12"(I wish I had a job where I could be wrong all the time and it didn't matter).

Good WIW to everyone. Just got done walking on the TM. Tomorrow will be my fourth day and thats my week in for me. I go grocery shopping Friday's so probably will just stay with 4 days. I'm so excited this morning I lost 3.5 lbs. this week. Woopie. I can finally bring my ticker back down from gaining two weeks in a row. Hope next week I can maintain that loss.

Woodfrogs- Bet thats water weight gain. Next week you'll probably have a big loss. Keep on truckin' gal.....

Will be back later....

Morning, everyone. I feel pretty bad...the cold is full blown now, and my head aches, my throat is scratchy, my nose is stuffed or dripping, and I am very tired from not sleeping well last night. I snored so bad that Tom went and slept in the office! He is much improved today. I am going to keep taking the Coldeze and vitamin C and hope for the best.

BUT, I did get on the scale, and I was down one! That is five down from the mysterious seven pound gain. What is weird is I have not even been good the past two or three days. Maybe it was the long walk on Saturday and the running around all day Monday. I don't care, I will take it.

I will hopefully get to replies later...right now, I have to go kick my son out of his bed. I hate it when he doesn't get up in the morning! It makes my day short having to wait on him to go do my errands.

Happy WIW

I hope everyone is happy about it anyway. The board sure is slow this week.
I was down 2 pounds today. Slow going for sure.

Got my treadmill and wts in last night ( I keep forgetting to post ont he exercise board). Plus we took my car to get the oil changed and walked to Applebees for dinner (salad and onion soup) and walked thru Wal Mart and then walked back. So it was a little extra.

Already been to church this morning and got my ashes. Looking forward to that 45 minutes extra sleep tomorrow morning. :tired:

Nothing exciting with me. Still raining here. Snow flurries tomorrow.

Monet, I think I would call that young couple to see if they are coming. It would be a shame for them to be a no show and ruin your plans for knock out someone else from coming. Plus with the mail these days, you never know if they got it or not. Hope your cold is better todya. You cracked me up about the almonds being such fun.

Gator, what a game last night! Did you see it?

Missy, glad you got your ride in before the rain and had such a good time. I know you are back on track today, right?

Heart, I think I missed something, why are you going to Philly? Something to do with Boogie? Hang in there girl, you know what to do.

Cindy, Hang in there

Angelnic:  You are doing great

Barbara, don't worry about the scale. You know you are on track and exercisng hard. No telling what causes the increase. It will be gone tomorrow.

Toni, "cheer" 3.5 is awesome. as well as 4 days of exercise.

BOb, where are you?

Country, are you lurking?

Got to run to a meeting, check back later. Have a great OP day and congrats to the losers today and the rest, hang in there.

Is it WIW already? I hadn't noticed because the SCALE REMAINS THE SAME!!! Not much time for replies, the dd is back to school today after a trip to the doctor yesterday...no strep throat, so I gave her a half a dose of DayQuill and sent her on her way. The ds is back on track, too, he ate an entire ww belgian waffle for breakfast and is unmedicated and comfortable. He had a temp at the doctor's yesterday. So, now the dh is home...not sick, but doing paperwork, so I must go sit with him and get to know him all over again since he's been gone so much lately.

Bye guys!!

The board is really slow...I said I wasn't going to weigh until Friday, couldn't resist(unfortunately). I'm around 165.5, the thing never would settle on 165 or 166. That's up 4.5 from last week. Don't know if I can take all that off by Sunday or not. I'm sure going to try. I got up this morning and took Robby to work and Ashley to school, came home and did a workout and then got ready and took Boogie to Speech. Met Robby while in town and he found him a truck finally. I'm sick of having to take him to work and come back. We'll have the truck Friday, so I only have to endure a couple more days. Robby went ahead and got my Valentine's since I won't be here. It's a cute diamond and gold necklace. Almost choker style with the round chain so that my hair won't get caught in it. At first when I saw it, I was like, my neck is too fat and short for that. The saleslady laughed and said I had to be kidding. I put it on and realized that I no longer have a short fat neck, lol. Today I am wearing my fat jeans. I know there isn't any sense in trying to wear my regular jeans with my stomach looking this way. Definetly fat gain this time. Hold on..Boogie is hollering for me to wipe his butt!!...Alright, JACK-K..we're going to Philly because of a research study that we entered Boogie in when he was a newborn. It's a study to see if bypass has affected his brain, etc..they are comparing 4 year olds. It will be a day of testing his IQ, speech, concentration, hearing, etc..nothing invasive. They are paying for hotel, airfare, and suppossedly meals. We leave Sunday and will be back Tuesday.

Menu for the day:

BF- was 2 scrambled eggs
Snack- protein bar
Also had a couple small slices of sausage
Lunch- 2 bowls of leftover chicken soup(with a good bit of legal pasta in it)
Supper- will be spaghetti(no noodles) and salad made with veggies and probably cheese, Ranch dressing.

I've eaten more today. I just feel "munchy." I know it's my blood sugars trying to level out and that I will stick it out and hopefully by Friday feel back to normal. I've also had too many diet cokes and the caffeine has probably made me hungrier as well. I need to check out the weather for Philly...check back tomorrow.

Afternoon, everyone! I just got in from a few errands. I went to Curves to hear a presentation by a Naturopathic doctor on natural progesterine. I bought a tube of it to try. Many of my symptoms, like my uterine fibroids, are signs of estrogen dominance, and one big one is weight gain and inability to lose. We shall see. I will give it a couple months and if it helps, great. If it doesn't, I will be out some money, but not too much.

After I left Curves, I was driving by the shopping center that has Linens and Things and decided to stop. I bought a Joyce Chen 14" flat bottomed wok, with a bonus 8" stir fry pan. While I was there, I stopped in Pier One and got two more of my cobalt glasses and found some chopsticks and rests on sale, and got them. Now if I just had a nice cobalt blue table cloth....I should have looked at Linens and Things and did not think about it. All my dishes are cobalt and white, so they would look nice on cobalt. I guess white would be ok too. :)

I feel like such a slob today. I did not even make my bed! Please don't tell Flylady on me! I am about to go down and unload the dishwasher so I can clean the kitchen. I made almond cookies today, and the first batch I used fructose in. BIG mistake. It browns easily and the cookies all burned. I made a second batch with granulated sugar and they turned out beautiful.

 Be back in a bit!

Well, dang. I just managed to burn my Cantonese Roast pork by forgetting it in a 400 degree oven! I suppose if it is dry, I can chop it up and use it for roast pork buns. I feel like such a ditz!

I was feeling terribly sick, then realized the reason! I had forgotten to eat any lunch! Definitely NOT like me! haha! I ate some leftover roast beef, and now I feel better.

Congrats everyone on their losses! I know you're not supposed to, but I weigh every day, that way I can see if I need to hold off on something for that day, i.e. starches, etc. So I'm down a pound from yesterday according to my scales. I have to take my 4 month old to the doc today for her checkup and 4 shots! :( Then she will be clingy and cranky all day long, so I doubt there will be much excersise for me today. Unless its walking around with a little one!!! Good luck and an OP day to all!!

Good Morning! I am still stuffy and achy this morning. I think I am better though. I have so much to do now, since I was not up to snuff the last few days, that I am starting to feel panicked. :dizzy:

I slept like a log last night. Tom told me I have never snored louder! :o He went and slept in the office to get away from the noise! I may crawl back into bed for a while now, since I am sure I need the rest. Tom slept all day and all night Monday and was better on Tuesday.

ANGEL: I say count carrying the baby around as weight lifting! :) Seriously, that is the most important thing to do...they grow up so fast. Seems like just yesterday mine were small, and now they are 26, 23 and 18. I would love to have them small again, and wanting to be held by me!

CINDY: Don't you hate it when the scale does that? I will get all excited about a loss, then weigh again to enjoy it, and find its gone! :( I guess that is why everyone recommends weighing only once a week!

I know I should do more replies, but I am going to take advantage of the time I have and go lay down and try and rest a bit..... will be back later!

Good Thursday morning ladies.

It is snowing here. I don't think they are calling for any accumulation and it is supposed to be in the 50's Sat. Which is good b/c we are going to Lexington to the UK/GA game.

Got in good exercise last night. 20 minutes of TM and 25 min of wt training for legs. My thighs and but are my biggest parts. I know you can't spot reduce but I really try to do some firming in those areas.

They are moving my aunt to a nursing home today for rehab. Don't know if this will be a permanent thing or not. GUess it will depend. At least the NH is only 5 minutes from my house and my niece works there too so she can see her every day.

Tech, don't worry too much about that scale, it is so fickle. Glad the kids are better.

Heartmom, that sounds like an interesting trip for Boogie. I'm sure you are anxious to get the results. Your valentine sounds pretty.

Monet, sorry about the cookies and the roast. i had one in the crock pot and left it too ong and it was very dry. Sounds like you got some bargains. Feeling better?

Barbara, I don't think I'll ever catch up to your 40 min on the treadmill. I'm envious.

Cindy, congrats on your loss. Weighing once a week or less is a good thing.

Angelnic, I ususally weigh every day too. I know you shouldn't and it depresses me daily, but I do. I like to plan my food around it too.

Got to get busy. Be back later.

Hello everyone. Just popping in to see how you all are doing. All is fine here. Did my Treadmill this morning and even used my hand weights to try and get in some more exercise. My friend started a gym in her basement. Shes got quite a few nice machines down there. Being in a small rural town we don't have a gym here so this is great. Hope I can get into a routine of going there two or three times a week. B- 1/2 ww bagel with peanut butter, apple juice L- chili and a salad D- spraggetti and a salad.

Only 3 pages! I don't have much to report. I woke up and got on the scale and was absolutely horrified!! I'm up ANOTHER 5 pounds from yesterday! What the crap is going on?!! I'm calling it payback for all my cheating and stuff over the past months. Sucks. And my clothes don't fit. I have 1 pair of "fat" jeans and that's it. I leave for Philly on Sunday. Not cool. I have got to shed some pounds between now and Sunday morning so I can wear my clothes. I'm avoiding starches for today and tomorrow. Drinking lots of water and cutting back(again) to 2 diet drinks a day. Something has to give. I feel like the good year blimp. Even my underwear is tight! Alright, here's my menu for the day.

Pre-bf...lc yogurt
BF- was 3 scrambled eggs
Snack- handful of lightly salted nuts
Lunch- a big salad made with chicken, veggies, a little cheese, Ranch dressing- 1 Diet Dr.P
Supper- spaghetti(no noodles) and salad with Ranch dressing. Cf diet coke

I actually feel a tad hungry, but I don't care I simply can't afford to eat anything that's not already on my menu. Grin and bear it. Well, I need to get off the computer and start supper before I leave for church exercise this evening. Where is everyone??

I left home this morning at 11 and got home at 5. I had class which lasted until 1, and then went over to a fellow student's home at about 3 (took that long to get lunch and get there), and stayed for over an hour talking French stuff. I had some pizza for lunch :yikes: because by 2 p.m--even after my apple snack--I was h-u-n-g-r-y! I got a pepperoni pizza which my friend and I shared. There were 4 pieces left over. I haven't had pizza in ages, and it wasn't all that great. That's what I get for going off plan.

I was a bad girl today. There are all kinds of nutty students on campus. One group is NORML, which has a standing sandwich board right off the sidewalk on my way to class. This group is pro-marijuana and tries to get the laws changed to legalize marijuana. My French prof. is the faculty sponsor for this group. Their sandwich board says something on one side about "getting high on life" and the other side states that (some large number) people have been arrested for pot possession, as if that is terrible. On Wednesday there was an article in the USAToday headlined "Pot cuts blood flow to brain" and detailed the specifics of a study showing this. So, I copied the article, enlarged it, and laminated 2 copies. Today, when walking pass the NORML board, I just could not resist tacking the articles on the corner of the board. I figure that students should get all the facts. Oh, I'm so bad!

So far today 12875 steps. I have found out that my old pedometer was not counting all my steps. I wore them both yesterday, along with the new one I got for my daughter. The two new ones registered practically the same, but the old one was 471 steps less than the others after 2 miles. So, now I'm racking up the steps. That's about 5.5 miles today.

Heart, have a nice trip.

Monet, when is your dinner?

BOB--Brrr, stay warm tonight.

Everyone else--have a great Friday.

Goodness, its Friday and there is only 47 posts? Where is everyone???

Today will be a marathon of cooking, and cleaning. Tomorrow won't be any better. I found out yesterday that the newlywed couple we had invited was not coming. I had called and let them a message on Wednesday, and on Thursday, my drawing buddy came over. When I told him I had not heard, he called the husband on his cellphone, and got an answer. The husband then called me ten minutes later to RSVP, three days late, and tell me they were not coming. I was gracious, but boy was I ticked. I called another couple to invite them. If they can get a babysitter, they will come. I hope they can, and I wish I had invited them in the first place.

So, today and tomorrow will be cooking and cleaning and trying to make sure I am organized enough to pull this off. I used my new wok to cook some ground beef filling for stuffed poblanos last night, and it worked awesome! Unfortunately, Tom decided to make refried beans in it after I had left for my meeting...I had to reseason it!

My eating has been so so. I did not really eat dinner last night before I left for my meeting. One of the fellas had brought a bunch of Wendy's Chili cups, so I had two of those for dinner. It was pretty good, and I think its ok, isn't it? He tried to get me to eat a third, but two was a gracious plenty!

So, I am off to steam some flower rolls and then start cutting up stuff. :) Be back later!

Happy Friday!!!

Glad the weekend is almost here. We have to work the fish fry at church tonight and tomorrow we are going to the UK-GA game. BUt that is the extent of my weekend.

We got my aunt moved into a NH yesterday for rehab. She is hoping that is all it is, but I'm not sure if she will ever be able to live on her own again. Miracles do happen though. Now if all here old biddy friends would quit calling me and griping about what we are doing I will be happy. At least she is only 5 minutes away and my niece also works at this NH so she can check on her daily.

I did manage to get in my TM last night. Thought sure I would get lots of wts done too, but by the time I got home from the NH, ate, and got 4 phone calls about my aunt, it was too late to do them. Oh well, I got in 4 nights of TM and 2 good nights of wts this week. Will try to get Sunday in too.

Toni, that is great that you can go to your friends to work out, it's free and you have a buddy to do it with. That makes if more fun.

Heart, I'm sure that 5 lbs is not fat. Don't let it get you down, even though I know it is frustrating. Just keep on plan and you will see results. Have a safe and nice trip.

Cindy, got a laught about you exercising before you realize how tired you are. I always feel rejuvenated after exercising. Funny how that works.

Bob, thanks for the info on Deb's GF. I will send her an email. You better get unbusy and get back on here soon.

Gator, you go girl! That's giving them the facts. WOW on all your steps. 5.5 miles is awesome.

Monet, I'm glad you called that couple, I had a feeling they might not be coming. Kids today. They nned to learn manners. I hope the other couple can make it, you have it planned out so pricisely. I'm sureyour dinner will be superb. BTW, we are going to the UK-GA game tomorrow. Hopefully my CATS can beat your DOGS.

Guess I'd better do some work. Not much to do today, so I'm sure I will be back.

Okay, so...I've fallen off the wagon with the airdyne. Since my hubby's back from working in VT, I feel bad turning on the news and riding the noisy bike while he's still asleep...and he's a little bit of a grump if you wake him up...like waking a bear up from hibernation!! So, I've gone back to procrastinating my way out of it each day..."I can't go on it yet, I still have to have my coffee"..."I can't excercise now with all this caffeine coursing through my veins!"..."It's too close to lunch now, I'll just wait till after I've eaten"..."Now it's too close to when I have to pick up Shelley from school, I'll wait till I get back"..."Shelley needs help with her homework now"..."Now I have to get dinner ready"..."Derek will be home from work soon...I'll wait till he gets home"..."Derek had a bad day and needs me to listen to his woes"..."Derek needs me to sit and keep him company after dinner...I'll wait till it's bedtime"..."I don't want to go to bed all sweaty, I'll do it in the morning"..."Derek looks so cozy laying there in bed, I don't want to wake him up, I'll wait till he goes to work"..."I have to have another cup of coffee..." And so it goes around and around in a vicsous cycle.

Haven't had much time to read up on all the posts, so I'll give a collective "Hi everyone!!" I know, that's boring...and kind of cheating...but we've all been a little sick this week and haven't been at the puter much. I'm finally getting over the cold.

Monet: Good luck with your chinese new year party!! You are so much more of a woman than I am. I can hardly handle having people over for potato salad and hot dogs in the summer!! And I just hate that, too, when people don't RSVP. When I have Shelley's birthday parties, I always ask to have people RSVP and I only ever hear from about 2 or 3 and the rest just all show up. I've gotten used to it.

Well, off I go to find more excuses to NOT get on the airdyne...i have laundry to do...I have to pee...breakfast dishes to wash...etc, etc...

Hey, guys. Well, the mysterious 5 pounds are gone, plus 2(YAY!). I'm still up 2 from last week and 4 above my low, but it's more encouraging than yesterday. I don't have time to exercise today. My morning routine got messed up. Need to get off this computer and get ready to go to town. I hope I can wear my regular jeans today. WOODS- I don't ever starve myself. My friends are always commenting on how much I eat. Maybe I do eat too much. It does seem to work for me IF I stay on track. Yesterday, I ate less than what I usually do when I'm OP, but I still probably ate around 1300 calories(just guessing). I don't see how people eat no more than 1200 calories on a daily basis. Here's my menu for the day which might change..but will still be OP and no more than 1 starch today.

BF- 2 eggs topped with 1 sp salsa and sour cream, 1 cup 2% milk
Lunch- probably eat a grilled bacon ranch salad from McDonald's, but use the Casaer dressing instead of the Ranch(lower sugar)
Snack- not sure? maybe PB or some nuts? or yogurt
Supper- 2 grilled hamburger patties topped with all the fixings and salad with Ranch dressing

As you see, I've increased my food from yesterday. I was resorting to drastic measures yesterday, lol. Guess it worked.

Hi gals:

I wish I had time for replies, but I have been really busy this week. I did go to the gym on Monday & Wednesday, and will go today and tomorrow. My WIW weight was 122#, which is where it has been pretty consistent. I've been eating pretty well too.

Guess what? A huge Sunflower Market just opened that is closer to me than Whole Foods. I am going to check them out tomorrow after I workout (when I am by myself).

QUESTION FOR ALL THE COOKS ON THE BOARD: I have a recipe that calls for Cognac...is that wine? Is there a substitute? I have some dark port wine; would that work? It's actually for an onion soup recipe I want to try.

Also, isn't sourdough legal?

Has anyone heard from Ken (Julia)? I am sure she has been to the doctor by now. I hope all is o.k. with her.

Well, I gotta go get dinner in the slow cooker and get some laundry going before we head out for the gym in a little while.

Take care, and I hope to catch up next week.

heart, glad those pounds are gone and more! Funny how that works.

Nat, sourdough is legal as long as it isn't made with enriched flour. Most of what I have found is. Can't answer about the cognac. Have a great weekend.

Pancho--Cognac is a brandy. It has a different taste from sherry, which is more nutty flavored, and port is a hair sweeter with a milder nutty flavor than sherry. Further, cognac is usually thought of as an expensive brandy, but you can use a cheaper variety just by looking for a bottle of brandy in the grocery store. Or buy the store brand at your local liquor store. I don't suspect that you'll need much in the recipe. You can probably also omit it, but the brandy just adds a depth of flavor. It should be fine w/o any. Or add 1/2 the amount of port that the recipe calls for on the brandy.

Monet--I'd put that couple on your" do not invite for dinners" list. Have them as friends, but don't include them on the list for anything that requires ANY work. I just get steamed about the rudeness of people. What do they think? That you are ordering out to the Chinese take-out? We have people that we have learned--the hard way--not to invite anymore. It's sad, really. People get so self-absorbed that they just don't think. I'm sure they would not like to be treated the same way, and one day, maybe 15 years from now, that newlywed wife will be moaning about the same thing when someone "stands her up" at her dinner party. OK, enough of my rant. Let this be a lesson for all of us: promptly RSVP for everything, no matter how insignificant it seems.

I did not walk today, and probably won't get to later. I had a dentist appt. again today because they found a crack in my tooth and had to do an onlay so that my tooth would not break and have to be pulled. I will go back in 3.5 weeks for the permanent onlay; I have a temporary now. They had to drill out the old composite. I HATE those novocaine shots and so just had them do it with nothing! It was just fine and I felt nothing, actually. The only part I didn't like was when they were doing the mold of the tooth. They have to shove some sort of little string between my gum and tooth, all around the tooth. I hate it when they are picking at my gums. Other than that, it was a breeze. I must have hard teeth and no nerves in them. :)

Kris--I vote the same way--move the airdyne into another room.

Hi BOB. I can't wait for those 70° temps.

Thanks Gator; you've been very helpful!!!!

I tried the easiest recipe ever, but it turned out wonderful. If you have a slow cooker, here it is. The meat was so tender it fell apart (I used chicken), and the flavors were so good. I found this recipe on my Beachbody website that I visit on occasion.

3-4 chicken breasts or boneless pork loins
1 14-oz can of crushed tomatoes (with whatever seasonings you like already added to the can)
2 TBS of vinegar (I used Balsamic)
Garlic powder (I also added fresh garlic)

Layer the meat on the bottom of the slow cooker, pour the tomatoes on top of the meat, pour in the vinegar and add the garlic powder/garlic. Cook on low 6-8 hours. I cooked mine for almost 10. Eat with WW pasta/rice....and/or a large salad.

Gotta go check laundry. Have a good evening.

Flying by....Been cutting and chopping and cooking most of the day. I did go over to Garden Ridge and buy a white table cloth and some light blue bandanas that I dyed a darker blue...now they are a shade lighter than cobalt. I wanted cobalt but ran out of dye! My Chinese dishes are white and cobalt blue, and my normal dishes are white with a cobalt blue stripe, and I have cobalt blue water glasses...so the table will be all white and cobalt blue, except I bought red chopsticks! I want to set it tonight, just to look at it! tee hee!

I still have a LOT to do...and the house cleaning has not happened at all. Hopefully, James and Tom will help some. Tom went to the liquor store and got rice wine and plum wine...both are tasty, but I prefer the plum wine. The rice wine is rather strong, and reminds me of sake which is also made from rice.

Ok, gotta go. I am still fighting this cold, but its better. I took a nap today too...which was good!

GATOR: You will be pleased to know I put on my pedometer this morning, not long after I got up. I have 9,340 steps so far, without walking! Just running around the kitchen and Garden Ridge and the grocery store! I may make it over 10k by the time I go to bed! I totally agree with you about the young couple. I am SO mad! If they had told me earlier, I could have invited someone else, but the other couple I asked yesterday told me today they can't get a sitter, so no. Its just too late now to invite someone. I am feeling rather frustrated about it. ALL that work, and expense in planning for 8 and there will only be six now. Grrr. I may change my menu and drop a dish, as we won't need that much food. sigh.

Later everyone!

Last post for me until next week! Took some Tylenol Pm's hoping they kick in soon. I was up 1 pound from yesterday, so aggravating. I didn't exercise yesterday and I can't help but wonder if that had something to do with it. I stayed legal. Today, I had a lf/lc shake for breakfast. Tuna salad with Ranch dressing for lunch. Supper was 2 hamb patties topped with mustard, sf ketchup, onions and tomato. Side salad with Ranch dressing. I got my workout in today. No more until Wednesday. Yesterday I ended up eating at my fave Mexican restaurant with some friends last night. I stayed 100% legal, skipped the chips and tortillas and ate the chicken fajitas with beans and toppings. Maybe it was too much fat or salt? Not going to stress over it, at least I'm back in my regular clothes. Well, I have to go!!

Well, here it is, after midnight, and I am just now sitting down to relax! What a day! I got up at 8, and literally cooked all day. Everything went really well. The only things that happened were that I totally forgot to fix the almond soup and I forgot to serve the New Year cake! No one cared though, as they were all too stuffed to eat it anyway! I had included six new recipes I had not fixed before, and every one was a winner! I did a last minute change from Golden Prosperity Fish, to Ningpo Fish Rolls. They were awesome! They are just a bit of fish filet rolled in bean curd sheets and fried. Very simple, but absolutely delicious. The prawns were really good, too. Anyway, the group drank two bottles of rice wine, which I did not partake of..I drank the plum wine instead. Not authentic, but I liked it. The conversation was lively, and everyone had a good time. My niece came over from her conference, and ate with us. It was good to see her and she enjoyed the company. And dear Tom, who was a bit cranky about the $$ I was spending on the dinner bought all the wine and told me after dinner he felt like it was $50 well spent... Boy does he sound mellow with all that rice wine in him and his belly full of all his favorite dishes!

Needless to say, I was not exactly on program tonight. I did make brown rice instead of white. Only a few dishes that I fixed were definitely not legal...like the white bread on the Lohan Prawns. Most of it was really ok!

SO, Monet is one tired, but happy puppy tonight. I imagine I will sleep like the dead tonight! Whatever will I do with myself now that the party is over???? Plan the next one I guess.......

Sorry I didnt get here yesterday. I was down with a cold coming on and just tried to take it easy yesterday except we went to dinner to celebrate a early valentines meal.

Heartmom -your one pound might of been from eating out. I notice even though I stay on plan I usually have a small gain after eating out. I think resturants use too much salt to make things tastier. It should be gone as quick as it came !!

BOB: Tom says shoes are evil and of COURSE NOT! Just for your info, *I* did not have any shoes on either! His head is not the least achy, as he did not drink THAT much...and besides, we slept in until 9 or 9:30! Thanks for the update on Deb. I need to send her an email now that I can think about something other than Chinese food.....

The weekend was so-so for eating. I know I had too many starches yesterday, but will try to make up for that today. I did manage to get on the treadmill both Sat and Sun and do ab crunches both days too. I feel so much better when I get in my exercise. I also found some 85% cocoa chocolate, talk about bittersweet....I think I will try and find some choc covered strawberries for later tonight. DH loves them.
Found out on Sat that it's going to cost $400 to get my car fixed so that it passes inspection. Stupid oxygen sensors! Stupid emissions law...

Sorry to hear about Deb's grandfather, it's so hard when grandparents pass away.

Monet - Sounds like an awesome dinner. Anytime you want to come over and fix something like that for me, come ahead!
Hope that everyone else has a great day!
