A Servant's Prayer
Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways...
Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an
honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered
by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have
called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect
heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors
I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the
roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything
that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of
your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.
To love as you love...
To serve as you serve...
To heal as you heal...
To forgive as you forgive...
always mindful of my nothingness while doing
great and marvelous things in you name and for
you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

Guess what I spent the day doing today gang? Believe it or not --- (drum roll, please :p  ) I have finally taken down all our Christmas decorations :D We enjoyed the lights and decorations so much during this gloomy winter weather neither of us wanted them down. But today, for some reason - maybe the sunshine :sunny: - I decided it was time to take them down. I haven't gotten them all put away yet, will finish that tomorrow. It's nice to have everything back to normal again :smug:
Have a good one... :flow1:

Mitchypoo 01-27-2005, 06:08 PM Aw Sunny, you are so good!!! Thanks for keeping us organized and in line. And thanks too for your well wishes. That graphic is adorable. Aw.......no more Christmas at your house? Do you decorate for Valentine's Sunny? I'm not exactly looking forward to another Valentine's being alone, but it's OK too.
SunnyD57 01-27-2005, 06:20 PM Nope Michele... I don't decorated for Valentine's Day. I decorated for Autumn/Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter - that's enough for me :^: I do enjoy all the Valentine's decorations, cards & colors, but never decorated. Being it's my birthday month I usually get pink flowers from Joe to enjoy for the month. And my mother & father always send me heart gifts. When I was a kid my mom always made me the most beautiful heart cakes! I miss those! Joe is taking the day off on my birthday this year - don't know what we'll be doing yet, something fun! I hope we have a sunny day, but I usually get a storm :p  Speaking of Joe... he's home, time to go ;)
Thanks for the PM's ;)

nuttymomof4 01-27-2005, 07:13 PM :cp: this is great I am a christian and I love that I found other christians to encourage :cheer: and to get encoraged by christians. :grouphug:
 I'm Kati I have 4 kiddos (obviously- :dizzy: nuttymomof4) I'm in Alabama and I'm trying to lose some poundage :strong: . I'm turning 30 in a couple of months.
I can't top meet y'all. :)
Welcome nuttymomof4...Whew...better you than me. I just turned 49 in Sept so you have tons more energy than I do to take care of kids. Oh, I have a doggy.
Mitchy...Please don't feel wierd about valentines day. We don't do anything special on that day...it's just another day in the year...another 24 hours of which 14 to 15 hours are awake and then it's nighty night time and presto chango...Feb. 15th. Done and over! Got the necklace. Those are opal crystals and I've wanted to order some because they are so beautiful. The black bicone ones are crystals as well. I will work on it pronto.
Sunny...my fake poinsettias are still above my cupboards...I don't want to get a chair and climb up to get them plus, I have to find a place to store them. I'll "let" Gary do it when he gets home...if he ever does. I still don't know when to expect him. Now that's what I call "doin your own thing." Yes, I'm being sarcastic or did that sound resentful. Sorry. pmsing.
My stomach is still feeling upset today. Yuk. I think I will sit and turn the TV on and knit or I should say try to knit my scarf.
Well, hugs to you all and catch ya later...

Good evening folks...
There's nothing on TV tonight, bummer --- usually Thursday nights are my fav. and everything is in repeats tonight :( So I thought I'd check out the forum and see what's happening here. Looks like we have someone new joining us :smug:

A big warm *Welcome* to you nuttymom!
I agree with MKay... sounds like you have your hands full!! You gotta come back soon and tell us a bit about yourself. When is your birthday?
Me ~ I'm SunnyD (also known as Donna) married to Joe this coming June 21st as long as you have been alive ;) *30 years* and we have 3 furry kids (3 male cats that think they are people). I think you will enjoy this thread allot - I found it almost two years ago (this coming Aug.) and haven't left yet :) Great people here!
Hey there MKay, I got everything taken down and thought I got it all and my hubby comes home and tells me that the front door is still decorated  Woops  Guess I'll take that down tomorrow... no biggie, I haven't put anything away yet.
That's okay... you are allowed to pms  just as long as it passes and doesn't stick :bubbles: I DO hope that your tummy feels better tomorrow :df:

EZMONEY 01-27-2005, 11:48 PM HEY GALS
Gonna be quick, just checking in. Made taco casserole for dinner, made extra for leftovers and GUESS WHAT (nah! we still have leftovers--'cause I make plenty) my daughter shows up from college and my neice comes by---a great surprise for dinner...PLUS!!! I am strutting my stuff after hearing "OH, Gosh daddy this is soooo good! I miss this so much at school"...wait there's more..."Wow Uncle Gary, I didn't know you could cook so good!"..braggin',braggin'braggin' keep those doggys....ya gotta be old to catch this joke.
Well...another call from one of nephews teachers today...going to give him an F and kick him out of class if he continues to disrupt...says he is an excellent academic student but his...are you ready for this?...his MOUTH won't stop!! Same old story..different teacher--different day...man oh man I am running out of things to take away!!

Good grief Gary, What are you gonna do now about DN? It sounds like he has a problems calming down - have you reduced his *sugar* intake? Sometimes kids do react to it in the way you are describing... or maybe too much caffeine (pop)? I do hope that you will be able to figure out what is happening and help him. Maybe it's for attention...no? How old is he now, Gary? Is he having problems of being accepted in school by his piers and you maybe don't know? Sometimes these kids act up to hide that sort of thing... just a thought. I wish I could help more, but in the meantime... you have my *prayers* as to what to do next.
I think it's great that your DD & DNiece enjoyed your cooking! Not a surprise though :^: it's wonderful that you make dinners for the family. Joe & I sure enjoyed that recipe you gave us the other day!! I finally made it last night (had to go buy some of the ingred. I didn't have) and boy-o-boy was it ever good!!! And so simple to make... love simple. A KEEPER!! Joe said he couldn't remember ever having hominy and he really enjoyed the meal & he asked me to thank you also as he made 'yummy sounds' the whole meal and even went back for seconds :T I had all the breast meat left from the chicken I made up, so it was perfect! I served it with some fresh baked round bread with that crunchy crust. Thank-you again for the recipe! :smug: What type of casserole did you make last night? I always could use a fresh idea :D
Give Angie my best, would you :)

wilma12 01-28-2005, 10:17 AM Not much new is happening around here. I got the painting finished. YES!! I just have a few touch ups to do and maybe a decorative feature in the kitchen. Last night I hung a few pictures back on the wall and they look great. I'll try to finish that tonight. The cabinet guy should be coming next week and I'm excited to see what he'll be doing next. I still have things stacked in my bedroom that needs to go into the cabinets. I want my bedroom back!
Eating wise I'm doing better. I think I've lost a lb. I found a Prevention magazine that has a 21 day fitness program in it that I'd like to try. It has strength exercises plus walking so it should be really good. It also has great advice on healthy eating.
It's so nice to "see new faces" here. A big welcome to you. This is a great place for encouragement in every area of your life be it weight loss or the day to day struggles we face.
Great job on the weight loss Michele. You're doing great. My DH and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day either. He's so busy this time of year and I really don't mind.
Well, better get going to work. Talk to you soon!
Mitchypoo 01-28-2005, 12:07 PM MKay, glad you got the necklace. You got the seperate black beads in the envelope too? Isn't that a pretty necklace? I wore my bracelet today and it's 7.5 in. from clasp to clasp and I think i need it a little bigger for my mom's bracelet. Is an inch too much bigger?
WI tonight after work. Thinking good thoughts.
Went to a volunteer potluck last night, knew i'd be late, so i ate really quick at home, but that was a good decision for me, or else i might have gone OP. I'm learning.......slowly but surely. :D
What's the plan for the weekend guys? Any fun stuff? What's a goal we can do for the weekend? My goal is that i'm going to do my complete circuit at home this weekend.
Hello!
Michelle- Hmmm...didn't see little black beads but I will look. Probably 8" is good. We should "do something" this weekend. How about some sort of walking either via video or outside (eek).
Wilma- I glad things are progressing to the end in the kitchen. I would like to see the article in Prevention. I'd love to do a "program" of some sort. The SBD I'm struggling with. I could do portion control and not too much starch.
Perhaps I will pick up the magazine this weekend and look into it more.
Sunny- Boy oh boy, were you up early today.
On extreme makeover last night they had people that lost gobs of inches in like 3 weeks. Now, they worked out 3 times a day...is that real? NOT...what is going to happen to them once they get back to real life...jobs, kids, spouses, etc.
Lunch is over...bye
Mitchypoo 01-28-2005, 03:05 PM Mkay, the little black beads were sent in another separate envelope. She forgot to put them in the blue envelope. If it's not there, it should be soon.
SunnyD57 01-28-2005, 03:55 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/szv_friday_cr111.gif
Yes MKay, I was up very early this morning :D I have been doing that the last couple days... maybe it's because I don't want to miss one moment of SUNSHINE :sunny: I don't really know why I'm awake, but I just thought that while I was up I'd stop in.
I saw that makeover show last night too! What a difference in her!! Allot of it is her diet too, MKay... that's what Michael Thurmond was saying. But they do workout allot more then I would ever do!!! 30 - 35 min a day is more then enough for me :D What a change in her body though, huh. I only wish!
Are you doing anything special this weekend?
Michele, I think Joe & I are meeting our friends as usual on Saturday morning and then we'll head out to a Target --- I need to get some new storage bins to store all our Christmas decorations in, the box we have had for years is giving way :o As far as exercise --- don't know yet what I will be doing... my exercise over the weekends is just to keep up with JOE :o
Sounds like you made a very wise decision to eat before you went to the party... I do that too. Especially for wedding receptions... being that most don't serve till after 7 or 7:30 (sometimes allot later). I just make my dinner at the regular time and then just have some protein at the reception and lots of dancing and water. Wishing you *loss* tonight at your weigh-in :crossed: :df:
Wilma, Painting? YUK! I hate to paint, but love the results, sounds like your place is coming along nicely... I am very happy for you. I cannot wait to see some pictures of your renovated kitchen!
I saw that in Prevention too --- looks like a great program.

just_me 01-28-2005, 04:56 PM Hello,
I'm a new member. I am SO glad there is a Christian group here. What are you guys doing to lose the weight? I'm just starting back up, I need to lose 55 lbs (from 185 to 130). Any suggestions? I don't really have a plan, just figured I'd cut calories and eat healthy. I've also been working out 1 hr/day 3 times/wk. Anyways, just thought I'd say hi. :goodscale

Mitchypoo 01-29-2005, 11:36 AM JustMe~Welcome!!! Hope you come back soon and post often. I think you'll find this group Christ centered and encouraging. Tell us more about you.
lbsbgone 01-29-2005, 11:38 AM Welcome to all of the new members! I'm fairly new too. You will enjoy all of the fellowship and support.
The weekend is here! Today, I am helping a friend pack for a move. I am also baking a dessert for the church bake sale tomorrow. Other than breakfast, I don't have a planned menu because I do not know what the day holds in store for me.
I need to clean the house and do FIL's laundry, but when is the question. FIL naps in the afternoon so all work has to be done in the morning. I will be gone today and then tomorrow at church in the morning. Monday, I am helping a friend prepare for an interview in the early afternoon, so do not know how much I can get done in the morning. Either Tuesday or Wednesday FIL has someone from a insurance company coming over to inspect and take pictures of the house as he is changing insurance companies. Tuesday, I will be busy. Wednesday, I am cooking dinner for a friend who has cancer. All of this is alot for me, so I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed.
I hope that the rest of you have a break in your schedule and will find some time for rest and relaxation.
Have a great weekend!

EZMONEY 01-30-2005, 11:31 PM HI LADIES
Just checking in...
Yesterday I left my house at 6:30 am, picked up my ex-wife and headed 90 miles away from us, to a college near the mountains, to see our daughter's tennis match. Returned back home at 7:00 pm. It was a long day, they were supposed to play friday and saturday but were rained out on friday...so all the matches went on saturday. She did pretty well, split her 2 singles matches and won both doubles matches. Her arm sure was tired though after all that tennis. Had lots of pleasant conversation with the ex, actually that is nothing new...it is always about the kids and a genuine "how are you doing" with each other. She is still planning on going with Angie and I to Washington when we go to pick "upgrades" in the new house..could be our neighbor up there...strange....
SUNNYD-- My nephew is 14 now, he was diagnosed ADHD...he has been off meds the entire 2.5 years he has been with me...he doesn't need them...he can focus when HE WANTS TO....for LONG periods of time. He is pretty much an A student at the moment (always can be with effort!) (LAZY is his middle name...hummm, so was my brother's) anyway, in some classes he is fine, in others he just gets on a EVERYBODY watch me make you laugh roll. He is the class clown and if he gets hooked up with a couple of others...well...look-out! the mouth is ruuuuuuuuuuuuuunnin' ! To be honest he may "have issues" which I will look into...I just have a difficult time dealing with many "counselors" and their "ideas" .
He is so bored right now...he has NO priveleges except the radio, exercise in the gym at home or walk the dogs...that is it. He helped me quite a bit in the yard today...but he always does that, he is a big help.
Well gotta go...Angie just got home from another candle party.
Later, Gary
Sami- Thank you for your words. And yes, DH got home yesterday and we were not at odds or each other's throats. It was quite nice actually. I think we are just so opposite that we may tend to have the hills and valleys. I'm praying to ask God to show me how to see him different.
My oldest daughter got her engagement ring this weekend in Chicago on the 85th floor of the John Hancock building. The ring is a biggie (to me, anyway).
Laid around and watched TV all afternoon Saturday with my youngest daughter. Her DH was working so she came over in pjs and we vegged. Girls day in. I've been "in" alot lately.
Gotta go so I can actually leave the building for lunch.
Bye all!!!
wilma12 02-01-2005, 10:11 AM We are still enjoying our above average weather. It's just around the freezing point here which is mild for this time of year.
I've been keeping busy with getting a caterer and location for the wedding. We think we're close to making a decision. After that the kids can do all the rest of the planning themselves. They have some neat ideas.
Mkay: Glad things are better with DH. Sometimes changing our own perspective helps alot. My prayers are with you.
Gary: I think it's neat that you and your ex have a good relationship. You so much of the opposite and it affects the kids so much. I'm also praying for that DN. Have you heard of the comedian Mark Lowery? He's with the Gaither group right now. Anyway, he was an ADD kid and was taught to channel it in the right direction. Now he's using his energy for God. Inspirational!
Sami: You are doing amazing with your weight loss. You are my inspiration to get my butt off the couch in the evenings. Keep up the great work.
Lbsbegone: You sound like you have a very busy life of giving yourself to others. I think that's admirable. Do take time for yourself though. You deserve it!
Michele: You're also doing great in the weight loss area. Keep up the great work.
Sunny: Thanks for that link. I'm going to look at it and see if there's anything there that will help me lower my blood pressure.
justme: Welcome to our group! Hope you find the support here that you need.
Time to head off for work. Have a great day!
Mitchypoo 02-01-2005, 06:33 PM Goodness......where have you all gone? I miss you guys.
Things are going well here. I think i'm continuing to lose but cannot WI until Thursday because of my PT schedule and the support group. Oh, I'm now running the support group by myself. My co-facilitator said i was doing such a great job that she wanted to let me run it alone if it was OK with me. She has other commitments and another group to help. I'm totally fine with it. I felt that i accomplished something and she saw my efforts. It was a good feeling. I'm still working on asking the church community to volunteer and help with child-care for the support groups, but hopefully we can get something started in Feb/Mar. It's a good goal for me.
Christalynn 02-01-2005, 06:56 PM Hello Everyone,
I hope you don't mind me joining in.
A little introduction..
I am new to this support group. I've been here at 3fc's since November. I'm currently on WW and loving it. I'm a 30 year old single, no children, working college student majoring in elementary Education.

Good Morning Everyone :flow1:
It sure has been a very busy few days for me... I have been doing some early Spring cleaning around here - sorting through things I think it's time to let go of and some to throw away. Not an easy process for me, I save things because there are memories attached.
*~*~*
Gary, I sent Craftymom a PM and left her another link - I think she is still having a difficult time understanding how things work. I have tired to explain it all to her, but it will take some time I think. I'll just keep trying ;)
Michele, Congrats on heading up the Support Group... you must be doing a wonderful job! :cp:
*Welcome Christina!* There is always room here for another to join in :D My best girlfriends DD is also going to school to become an elementary school teacher...

Welcome Cristalynn!
Sunny- You must've just posted.
Michele- It seems you found your niche (sp) in this world. You package should be there today.
Craftymom- Did you find us?
I'll check in later today with you all!
Hugs,
wilma12 02-02-2005, 10:06 AM I would like to ask for prayers for my youngest DS. He had to quit his job because he sprained both knees. He was training to be an electrician and was enjoying it but if his knees can't handle it then he can't do it. He has also been diagnosed with a mild case of asthma. This is a blow for someone as active and athletic as he is. He does have a job interview today so hopefully he gets it. he has work for the summer but for the next few months he needs to get working to pay for the car he bought.
Thanks!
Mitchypoo 02-02-2005, 10:48 AM Wilma~prayers are on the way for DS. Must be difficult for someone so young. But i bet that just wasn't the right job for him at this time in his life. He'll find what works for him.
Mkay~ Thank you, sweets! Can't wait to see your work.
Wilma...so sorry about your DS. I think Mitchy is right, there is a better job that will fit him perfectly...Amen!
Mitchypoo 02-02-2005, 05:51 PM Mkay~It didn't come today? :( But we are a very small town w/PO box pickup only and it probably didn't make it in the box on time this a.m. Hopefully tomorrow. I can't wait. :)
EZMONEY 02-02-2005, 11:42 PM  HI GALS
WELCOME CHRISTALYNN -My wife is a middle school teacher and my son is two months away from finishing his credential to be a high school social science teacher.
SUNNYD Don't worry about throwing things out with memories attached...when you get to be my age (and you're sneaking up) you won't remember anyway ;)
WILMA Sending up prayers for DS and a new job fitting for him and his knees.
MICHELE Good luck on the support group.
MKAY Things sound a little better!!
SAMI Great job on becoming BIGGEST LOOSER!! Keep it up.
My son and I went to see my daughter's match yesterday, she lost but it was close against an opponent that is an all-conference #2 player. Proud of her effort.
WELL, Ron got ANOTHER detention today!! Same old story...however, (I get daily reports on him) his other teachers said he is doing MUCH better...a work in progress. Received his report card today ALGEBRA B-, GERMAN B-, PE C, HISTORY A-, ENGLISH A-, and SCIENCE B...not bad...but each class had the boxes checked for DISRUPTS CLASS.
Well not much happening here...anyone find CRAFTYMOM? thanks for looking DONNA.
gotta go...Angie has ISSUES!....good ones ;)
Christalynn 02-03-2005, 12:15 AM Hiya.
Thanks for the welcome :)
I hope all is well with everyone. I'm planning on being a first grade teacher. I may go as far as being an art teacher but we'll see what happens :^:
My ultimate dream is to open what I have named safe harbour (inspiration from a bryan duncan song) it will be a place for abused children who are between homes where they can get some education and medical help..overall a place to start the healing and growing process...One day my dream may be a reality.
Before all that can happen, I need to be as fit and healthy as I can be. I'm starting fresh tomorrow by switching from WW to counting calories (ww does that but in a different way)
Have a good Thursday

wilma12 02-03-2005, 10:15 AM Thanks for all your prayers. DS did find a part time job to get him to a summer full time job at a golf course. He has worked there the past couple of years and loves it there. I told him he should go into golf course management or something related to that. He just doesn't know what field to go into and I think that's what's discouraging him. We are glad that he has work right now even if it's not what he plans to do with his life. He does have a very supportive girlfriend who doesn't know what she wants to do either!!
I was reading through a magazine yesterday and they recommended an eating plan for someone with hypertension. I cruised the site last night and decided to try it along with walking and exercise. I really don't want to go on medication so I'll try a new way of eating to combat it. It's just a healthy eating plan that includes lots of fibre - not a lot of salt and sugar. I'll let you know how it turns out. I've been trying to find info on how to determine the amounts of sodium in certain foods and this site does that. It's called the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) Plan. I found it on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services site.
Time has run out again. Gotta get to work. Have a super day.
Mitchypoo 02-03-2005, 10:43 AM Hello all!
Went to WI yesterday because i got out of PT a little early. Had good news! I've lost 2.8 lbs. since last Friday! For a total of 13 lbs. And they did my first month measurements and i've lost 8" from my chest, waist, thighs and hips combined! I'm so excited. But they put me on a new plan because I hit a goal weight which means i lose a servingn of a 1/2 protein and a starch. But i think i'll be fine, it still seems like plenty food.
Having some bad financial trouble but my mom is so supportive and i know it'll work out somehow. I'm not letting it affect me on my weightloss and health goals, so that's good.
Wilma, glad DS found a job.
Hi Sunny! :flow2: I miss your posts but know that you are busy now. How are you feeling and how is your Dad doing now? He surely is out of the hospital.
Gary~heard a guy talk this a.m. on the radio about ADD or ADHD, sounds like he has a great book and center dealing with that. If i find the reference i'll send it to you. Hang in there with DN. Must be frustrating. But I still thank God he has you and Angie...
Satan is up to no good this morning. I posted a long story that happened at church last night and this site went poof on me.
First,
Christalynn- I LOVE hearing Bryan Duncan's Safe Harbor. Actually, I have quite a few of his cds, so I took all the slower songs except Carribean Dream and burned them on a cd for myself. If you want one, let me know. I listen to his soothing voice when I make jewelry or when I just need comforting. As far as WW and calories, I found that when I was on WW point system, it allowed too much sugar in the low-fat foods you could eat as snackies. The sugar is lethal to me.
EZ- I think Ron's grades are not too bad. I can understand though. My girls had phases when they just weren't focused. I have a hard time even at work to stay focused.
Michele- Mail will be there soon, I mailed it from the postoffice Monday at lunchtime.
Here's my church story...
The other night, a lady from church called and wondered what Wed night class Gary and I were planning on taking. We decided on the finance class (duhhh) with me taking the Battlefield of the mind class as a backup if the other was cancelled. Yesterday a.m. came and Gary informed me that "I have a job to do tonight, I can't go." So, I went alone and switched to the Battlefield of the Mind class which made the finance class cancelled. The facilitator of the Battlefield class saw me and asked where I was going to be. When I told her that I would be in her class, she was elated. She said that I was on her mind all day to the point where she asked the church secretary which class I was planning to attend. She just felt I needed to be there. When I told her our original intentions, and how things turned out we both knew it WAS A GOD THING! I truly need help in the mind area since I am struggling in that area. Yipee! I told Gary that all turned out well. I MUST come to terms that I need to take care of myself and not Gary. He is on his own (scary).
Anyway, that's the story and I have to get back to work!
Christalynn 02-03-2005, 05:47 PM Hi,
I hope everyone is having a good day. I've volunteered to be a english conversation partner and I start Tuesday. We have alot of foreign students that need to work on their english. I've been paired with someone from Tiwan and I'm a little excited to meet her.
mkay- taking all those songs and putting them on one cd sounds like a lot of work if you ask me. What songs have you chose for the "ultimate Bryan" cd? send me a pm if you don't want to post them here.
Mitchypoo-Congrats on the loss..that's great :bravo:
I won't be ale to weigh in for about a week my scale is way off. Its time for a new one. I've been thinking about buying a WW one. I definatley need one that's digital.
Mitchypoo 02-04-2005, 10:57 AM Hello
How is everyone this a.m.? :coffee2: It's hard to believe because it's the beginning of February but we are suppose to break records and hit a high of 51 today! I'm loving it. It's casual day at work and i'm in jeans and tennis shoes and just may go take a walk at lunch! :thanks: for the well wishes. I'm truly enjoying doing LAWL, partly because of the loss, but I feel like i'm eating very well and making good habits that can last forever. Yesterday was a bit tough, i had to adjust to the new eating plan and losing a 1/2 protein, starch and fruit. I think i ate over a starch w/o realizing. But it's also good for me b/c when i have a flub, i just get right back on program.
So what's the plan this weekend? What are you all going to work on? or are you taking the weekend off? I'm going to go to the gym this sat. or sun. and either swim or do the machines and my circuit for an hour. I get tested next week on my PT, and I need to start doing that during the week after PT is over.
I'm suppose to meet my cousin tonight for dinner. She's going to Aruba w/her daughter and I'm going to run Alpha the next couple weeks by welcoming everyone, telling an opening joke and giving announcements. Wish me luck, i've done this before, but i'm not exactly comfortable talking in front of a group. And John  will be there so that makes me nervous too. If any of you have appropriate humor i could use, please send to me either here or PM me.
I did the phones last night and had 2 calls, one after midnight, unfortunately. But i'm not complaining... Just makes you realize how awful people can be and makes you want to pray for them. Both cases last night involved men who had alcohol problems. It's so devastating to a family.
Hi All! Yea!!!! It's the weekend!
Friday Night:
Out to eat with DH
Movie at home (?)
Saturday:
Help clean Mom's house
Clean my own house
Laundry catch up
Make a cheese dip

craftymom2005 02-04-2005, 04:58 PM hi all,
i'm still plugging away out here. i wish someone would give me some information. how does one know when a thread is old. this is what i do once i enter 3FC. i go to quick links look for new posts. i don't believe that has a box like this. it i look at a particular message that sometimes takes me to something called sticky. could some one give me a little direction. i feel frustrated. people have told me different things to try some work some don't. i've also said i'm new at this computer thing. please be patient this is a learning process. i have never been on a web site like this. it's very new to me. if i have questions. maybe someone else has the same one and isn't asking for help. don't tell someone else to contact me. do it yourself if you can help. come on. hopefuly i'm on a current thread. i was looking at one thread with a number and it just keep going up and up. how confusing if you want to enter into the conversation. thanks for any help you can give me. have a great day. remember to be kind to yourself. we are all in this together. with the goal of lossing weight and being healthy.
king regards,
mary
Craftymom-
The way I do it (since this is the only place I post on this web site)is now that I'm on this particular page, I go to my favorites up on the main toolbar and when the side window appears, select Add and once it come up with a name in another smaller window hit enter and it's now in your favorites and you will never have to type in the web site. Now, pretend you are just getting online and you want to go to this site. Just go up to the Favorites and once the side window comes down, select the 3fat chicks and presto chango you are there. Now, remember, this is the only place I post. I hope this is somewhat helpful to you and I'm sorry if it's not quite what you are looking for. Hugs, Mary Kay
Oh, when Sunny starts a new thread, it will say click here to go to the new thread and she posts it quite large not to miss it.
craftymom2005 02-04-2005, 06:51 PM mckay
thanks for the help. i have gotten all of what you told me done. it's once it get to 3FC i have the problem. usuall i hit forum. if i have a message. it takes me to that. then when i want to go to post something is when i have problems. i hit qucik links, then new posts. i don't know if thats the way to start or not. say i find go to christian encouragers. there are lots of different #s. which is the right one. sometime i end up on a page that says sticky. i don't see where you post. i dont' know what some of the abbriviations mean. i what like what you had in the private message. i am diebetic and have fibromyalgia. i will revise it to fit me. i weigh once a week on monday. you have been a great help. have a great evening. i'm open to any more help as far as navigating in 3FC.
kind regards
mary
Mitchypoo 02-05-2005, 11:32 AM Craftymom Mary~when you go to quick links, go to Subscribedthreads instead. Then it'll show you the latest threads you were on. And when we end a thread Sunny always puts a link to the new thread that you just have to click on. Then when you are on the new thread you can go to Thread Tools menu and subscribe to it OR another way to automatically subscribe is to post to the new thread, then it's done automatically.
Are you getting an email sent to you when someone else posts to the thread? If not, you might want to change your preferences to send you an email when someone posts and THAT email will give you a direct link to the current thread.
Hope this helps.
EZMONEY 02-05-2005, 08:19 PM CRAFTYMOM-- This is what I did: I got to 3FC home page...clicked on forum...put that page in my favorites, it is the one that says ANNOUNCEMENTS...so I just click on my favorites, announcement page comes up..I scroll down to SUPPORT GROUPS...click on FAITH BASED support groups and look for the first Christian Encouragers site. I probably just confused you more didn't I?
Luck to ya- Gary
Hello a quick message before I leave for Church. Today I did my WI and I have now lost 23 lbs!!!!!!!! I got my hair cut and it is so cute I will have to get one of my kids to take a picture so I can show you. Sorry I haven't been on here much but I have been doing..................My workouts!!!! and the tanning thing and I am left with no time after dinner and homework.
Craftymom-I am a dibetic and I have the fibro also. My Dr started me on b-6 3x aday and I can't tell you how much better I feel. I work out everyday but I just move I only add strenght twice a week because it still causes me a lot of pain. I have lowered my bloodsugar so much by this I have gone off my insulin pill and my daily dibetic drug. I have also noticed my bloodpressure is down so I am hoping with a little more weight I can at least cut back. I feel all the drugs I have been on have cause my weight gain. So the more I get off the better. What does your Dr. have you doing for your fibro?
Ez-My two youngest are now playing basketball and yesterday both had two games at the sametime in the same Gym! Molli at least once in every game has gotten the ball and gave it to the OTHER team! And Ashli spent most of her time running from the ball.
Sunny,Mkay,Mitchy,Bunna,Christalynn-How are your diets going? Sorry I haven't been around much. I will try to been a better.
Prayers are with you all!
Mitchypoo 02-06-2005, 11:47 AM Wow Sami! 23 LBS!!!! Way to go!! :cb: You sound very busy but you keep up the good work.
sprout 02-06-2005, 05:38 PM Have been keeping up with reading all the posts, holding everyone up in prayers but not been posting - guess I have been what is called a 'lurker' for a bit.
Anyway, all is going not to bad here. Stilling having some difficulty with the son (he will be 17 tomorrow) but am learning how to deal with him somewhat better. Realizing that due to his disabilities some of what he is doing he can't seem to help, but when he doesn't seem to be even trying - that is the part that gets me. The teachers this year are now seeing what I have been dealing with for some time - a young man that has a lot of potential but just doesn't want to apply it at all - he keeps 'harping' on letting him have a house key - we keep saying 'not a chance' - he is not showing responsibility to come home when asked so if we gave in to a key he would never be home when asked - there are so many issues that we are dealing with him - just pray that we can hold it together for the next 24 months - till his 19th birthday - at which time should this behavior still be as it is we can 'legally wit no consequences coming back on us because of his age ask him to leave'. Sounds terrible but I think when that time comes maybe we will have a chance to have a lot more pleasant 'visits' with him.
The weight has been going the wrong direction but think I have gotten a handle on it now. Rather than looking at the big picture am doine something small each day that will lead to good results down the road - such as getting in enough water each day, eating a tossed salad each day and 30 minutes of exercise each day. I was having trouble getting in 8 glasses of water (4 bottles) as I was only getting in 2 bottles (4 glasses) so my goal now is to get in 3 bottles and work up from there.
Also working on a 1 pound loss for each week - helps me keep focus without thinking of food all the time.
Had a very good service at church today - was communion - our new pastor (we have had him now for 2 months) is really something - the church is filling up more and more each week as he is really bringing them in.
Another note - we are looking at buying a pup - a Sheltie (looks like a small Collie but is actually a bred of itself called Shetland Sheepdog). We have raised these types of dogs in the past - the local breeder had pups 3 weeks ago - and in 3 weeks we will be going to have a look at them - she has 4 from one litter (2 boys, 2 girls) and 4 from the other litter (2 boys, 2 girls). We would prefer a girl but she is not sure if the girls will go as 'pets' or as 'show' - and the show ones are out of our reach money wise ($1,500) but the pet would be $500. She believes one of the males will go as a pet as he looks like he will be oversized. So we are excited about that
Have a good day everyone
EZMONEY 02-07-2005, 12:20 AM HI LADIES
Well, the SUPERBOWL and football is over for the year :( ...Angie is justa smilin' away!! ...I think she forgot spring training for baseball starts this month..AND..basketball is still going :sssh: Nephews EAGLES lost but he wasn't too bummed out.
Talked to the builder on the house in Washington on friday and they started the framing on the walls friday and will start the roof on Monday, weather permitting...which is fine..EXCEPT the real estate lady was supposed to keep us informed on the progress so we could plan..we have to go up to finalize colors, etc. We had told them no hurry on our house since we wouldn't be moving up for over a year anyway...we knew plans had gone through the city but we didn't think any actual work had been started...we were planning on going up the last week of March or so..he said NOPE by the last 2 weeks of February he will need to know our particulars...oh well.
Sat behind a gentleman in church today that I have known for years, bible studied with for 2 years just 3 years ago...could NOT remember his last name or his wife's name...scary!! So nice to get old  Are you listening DONNA ? ;)
Well it's late, gonna check out and get the pork chops ready for the crock-pot in the morning.
OH YEA--WAY TO GO SAMI!!!! and by the way, on the basketball game, I just love kids that SHARE!! I remember one game at softball for my step-daughter, she made about 10 errors and totally lost the game pretty much single handily...we kidded her that the other team named her MVP..most valuable player.
Prayers, Gary

Hi CER's... I wonder if will I ever catch up :dizzy: :faint:
I didn't think I was gone that long :p :o :D
First off... :cheer: What a great Super Bowl this Sunday :cheer: Did anyone have friends over to watch the game? We had our buds over with their kids & ate, & ate & ate :o I served Bar-B-Que'd pulled beef sandwiches, turkey roll-ups in pieta bread, a veggie tray, Valentine M & M's, Cookies, Rice Krispies Squares (just gotta have those sweet treats for the kids ;) ), Baked Chips, Pretzels, Been Dip and Rice crackers & Shrimp & sauce (yum!) --- and OUR PATRIOTS WON!!!! :cheer:
Sorry Gary & the nephew ;)
:smug: Forgive me while I take a moment to bask :smug:
I have been sooo very busy... I just had so much to get done this past week - and all at once!! Have you guys ever begun one project to find yourself up to your neck in another... it's like a Domino effect :dizzy: It all began with us buying storage bins on Monday for all my Decorations... Joe had the day off for our dental appointments & we went shopping afterwards. Tuesday I began cleaning things up to store decorations and such and then went into another project and into another and I had to get it done so things would be in my hallway or in my living-room... I am still not finished, but gone enough done for the moment to give it a week or two of rest before I begin again. I also had a deadline Friday to e-mail everyone with the music lists - I am in charge of selecting music for the musicians at our church for each month and I was way behind in getting started. But I did get it finished and even got it done for next month too! So now I am all set till the end of March :D What a relief! :^:
Joe & I also got our taxes done Thursday night too - so I was so brain dead by 9pm. We mailed that off Friday morning - nice to know we'll be getting a bit back this year :smug: Oh... and I had to make a couple cards too... a friend is moving and another is ill. That took me a bit of time to do too... I enjoy embellishing them.
I still haven't paid my bill's this week! :p I usually do that each Thursday, but with so much to get done this week I have neglected *us*. I will squeak in a couple hours today... I have too! We went out to dinner with our friends Saturday evening to celebrate my 48th birthday together... we always have the best time out with them!! We went to Longhorn steakhouse :T My birthday is actually this Tuesday and my hubby, Joe, is going to take off that day too :smug: We will probably catch a movie out being it's going to rain and then that evening we are going out to dinner together at our favorite family restaurant... you know... the kind of place where everyone knows your name ;)
*~*~*
Sami, You are just doing so well... I just couldn't be happier for you!!! :cp: Keep up the wonderful job! :cp: How much weight do you have to lose?? Me... I haven't lost anymore, just keeping it at bay... in other words... stuck on a plateau again, but I know that if I keep on truckin' it will come off again. Another reason you are dropping is because you are tanning... when I use to tan (I worked at a tanning salon) I dropped quite a bit of weight too --- it seems to speed up your metabolism :D Enjoy!
:bravo: on your 23 lbs gone forever!!! :bravo:
Gary, as I stated earlier... we had a super day yesterday. The game began a little slow with allot of penalties on the Patriots but they came through :cp: We enjoyed that it was a close game - made it exciting
How exciting for you and Angie to have a brand new home built just the way you want it... when you go to check it out don't forget your camera --- I wanna see to :D ;)
Ohhhh... don't you worry... I am already feeling *age* smarty-pants  It creeps up on you like a shadow on a sidewalk that is extra wide (like you want to see that!) I use to have a very quick mind when it came to names and now search frantically when I see someone or cave and humbly ask again. Getting older is quite an adjustment for sure, but I don't mind... I'm here to enjoy life ;)
Michele, We were in the 50's all weekend with :sunny: SUNSHINE :sunny: too --- we had 7 days of sunshine here!! And believe me - I took it all in!!! I cannot believe how much better I feel with the sun is shining out and you can hear and see the birds coming to the feeders... hopeful for Spring :)
 13 lbs down!!! *Awesome GIRL!!!!*
I just couldn't be happier for you and for Sami... I am stuck! Haven't budged, but then I have had a few parties lately & been to allot as well :dizzy: Did you make it to the gym as you hoped to?
I am so sorry that you received some calls after midnight the other day --- but at least they had YOU at the other end to help them.
MKay, sorry you lost your post again... now that I write in my e-mail first (just as if I were sending one off) & then just do a copy and paste to the forum when I am finished - I don't worry about losing mine anymore. I lose the post all the time here too, but then I just go back to my e-mail copy and paste again and tah dah - not nearly as much frustration. I think they are having problems, allot of people have been losing their posts lately... :(
How was your weekend? Did you have a nice dinner Friday evening with your dear hubby? I pray for you both all the time :goodvibes
Sprout, it's always so good to hear from you... Happy 17th Birthday :hb: wishes for your DS... I do hope that life gets better for him and for you both too. His age is a tough age for you and for him to get through, but you will. Continued Prayers
That's the way to handle your weight-loss, Marilyn! Good for you! One small step at a time... the stress of your family life does not help at all, but YOU CAN WORK PASSED IT :cheer: *One MOMENT* at a time... a 1 lb loss a week is good --- the slow but sure method. Keep up the great job, know that you are in my prayers each and every day {{{Hugs}}}
Good luck looking for a new puppy ;)
Teel, How are you feeling these days? You have been pretty quiet lately and I always enjoy reading your posts ;)
On-my-weigh, what is happening to you sweetie? All going well with your pregnancy?!?
Christalynn, how did things go with your Taiwan friend?
Angie-Wangie, where are you?
Sherry? You stopped in giving us hope that you were back and then just disappeared again... what happened?
Bunna???? Where did you go to? I do hope that you are feeling okay?!
and Sue!!! Where has our Sue gone??? I miss hearing about your camping and kids :^:
Healthy, How are you these days? Hanging in there girl?
I sure do miss *ALL* you guys that haven't been back!!!
*~*~*
Hope all you other Lurkers and MIA's know that even though you are not posting... I still pray for you!
I have my list in the morning for prayers and your names are on it ;)
Do stop in when you get a moment
and let us know how life is treating you :^:
Have a *GREAT Day* CER's :D

Mitchypoo 02-07-2005, 11:34 AM Yeah!!!! Sunny is Back!! Sounds like you had a good Super Bowl Sunday.
Oh, i'm gonna have to post at lunch, no time now. But Hi to all!
Mitchypoo 02-07-2005, 01:51 PM Sunny~I did make it to the gym after work on Sat. and I have a goal to go there 2x this week. And I go Wed. to PT and have to do my circuit gym and i'm graded on it, and then I'm done with that! :cb: But I still have to continue doing the circuit and abdominal and hamstring stretches, and basically keep on exercising for my back.
Hi Everyone!
Sunny...It's sunny when you post. Don't leave for that long again...ya hear?
Sprout and Michele...I'm so wonderfully happy for you both. Now I need to get a grip. I wonder if the new med Lexapro is making me feel fat and puffy.
EZ...sorry to say but we played dominoes with some friends all through the SB game.
I think we stayed up too late last night. I stayed home today from work. I can't say I was sick...just tired and I didn't have anything to do at work today. I was just about to pay bills, got on line to ck my account and though...why not go visit my friends on line? I wonder if I have a little ADD myself.
Well, I'm going to go finish with bills. Bye for now! Hugs to you all!
MK
SunnyD57 02-07-2005, 03:44 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/Romantic7.gif Hello again
Thanks Michele, Good for you... getting to the gym Saturday :high: and being almost done with PT :flow1: Don't stop with your stretches now --- those are what's helping you with your back, not to mention how great your weigh-loss is for it too ;) Joe stretches every morning for his back and he says it really does help him get through a day.
I am going to get in my walking today, but was delayed, thanks to my computer. Nothing you do on here is easy anymore --- I just bought a new Norton Anti-Virus and installed it this morning (the old one was due to expire tomorrow) after I posted to you all and have been on here ever since! Trying to get my e-mail to accept Incoming and Outgoing mail again... whew :stars: When I installed the new security it listed my IncrediMail as a potential security problem and so I couldn't get into it. I finally figured how to get into the new Norton Program and get it to accept my ISP server & IncrediMail... what a pain in the behind. But now it's working again, but I am plumb tuckered out :faint: I think I will go lay down for about 15 - 20 minutes with my Zeppe kitty and then I will go get in a walk while watching a recorded program I haven't seen yet. Joe & I are home tonight and we are just having left-overs from all the food I had in the house yesterday.
Hi MKay, Bill's! :oh my goodness, I totally forgot I had to get them done today too... I got so caught up in fixing what the Norton Security did ~ so much for my nap :dizzy:
How was your weekend? :cofdate: Did you have a nice dinner Friday evening with your dear hubby? I pray for you both all the time :goodvibes
Feel Better {{{Big Hugs}}}
Time for me to go... I have bill's to pay & a vacuum to run :dz:

SunnyD57 02-07-2005, 05:15 PM Nancy... I was hasty in reading your post and replying...
I see that you are down 3 lbs after just beginning,
That's pretty AWESOME! :cp:
If you average 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. a week in wt-loss (after you initially lose up to 3-5 lbs. your first week) that is a good average :)
:bravo:

craftymom2005 02-07-2005, 06:21 PM hi everyone,
i lost one more pound this week. i samll step at a time. i'm still working on water intake, healthy food choices, moving and just staying on track. it's an all NEW week and i get to start all over.
gary- thanks that was the easy part. i have 3FC in my favorites. i don't have a problem getting to 3FC. it's once i want to move around in 3FC where abouts are you moving to in washington. it froze where i'm at last night. it's sunny today but in the low 40s. the dog didn't even want to go out this morning.
michelle- i tried the subscribed threads things. i comes up with nothing when i try it. when i try to subscribe i don't see that anything happens. i can't put in the names of what i want to subscribe to. it's just like the above posts i would never have known they were there. i just saw my name and started reading. so how can i get those message to come to me? i'm trying some of the things. not with much luck. i figure something has to work at some point.
nancy-great to see you in this group. it's great that we have the common thread of wanting to lose weight. it's just an added bonus we can give God the credit for what he does in our lives as well. HALLELUJEHAH!!
sunny-how do you get colored text when you post here. i see it when you sent private messages. i can't figure out how to make it work there either.
well everyone stay on track will talk to you later. be safe and kind to yourself. for those who made their goals i hope you have rewarded yourself well. not food. sll gods blessings to you and yours.
kind regards,
mary
Mitchypoo 02-07-2005, 06:43 PM OK, Mary, you are now subscribed to this thread because you have posted here. But to make it so you get an email when there is a new post you do the following:
Go to the purple menu up top and choose: User CP
Then go to: Edit Options
Then go to Messaging & Notificaiton and there's a section for Default Thread Subscription Mode and choose 'Instant email notification' from the pull down. Then you will get an email with a link to the post and you just click on that and you are there.
Sounds complicated, but it isn't. Good luck! ;)
Oh, btw, way to go on the l lb. loss! Woohoo for you!
lbsbgone 02-07-2005, 10:52 PM I've had problems logging on so have been MIA for several days. Just wanted to say welcome to any new members and to say congratultions to those that lost this week. I have lost for three weeks in a row, but will probably have a gain this week. Not enough water, exercise nor following my eating plan too closely.
Happy birthday tomorrow Sunny D! I hope that it is a good one.

Nancy...Welcome aboard! Wow, I want to start losing again. I begin each day on the right foot then somewhere throughout the day it shifts to the left.
lsbegone- Once an MIA, then you have all the posts to read. I've done that too.

wilma12 02-08-2005, 10:08 AM :hat: :balloons: :cb: :gift: :grouphug: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY!! :hb: :hb: :balloons: :balloons:
I hope you have a great day!!
It's back to being frigid here. The weather should warm up by the weekend again so I have something to look forward to.
I've been really watching my eating so hopefully the scales will show the difference. I do need to pick up the pace with the walking though. i am so tired by the end of the day that I find it hard to do anything in the evenings. I think that once the sidewalks clear of snow I can get out and walk in the evenings. Right now we have too much snow and I don't like walking on the street.
It sounds like everyone here is doing great.
Please pray for DS again. The job he got involves asking donations from people. He has a hard time doing that and the pressure is always on to get those donations. He's going to look for different work. Pray that he'll find a job he likes.
Wedding plans are progressing along. We have a place for the reception but not a caterer yet. I'm waiting for answers from a couple and then we can make a decision.
Have a good day!
finally ready 02-08-2005, 11:40 AM Good morning, thanks for the welcome, I really enjoy and look forward to coming here. Wanted to come on last night, but hubby came home not feeling well, and well sometimes he's worse then our daughter was, tough auto tech gets put down by a cold, but gotta love em. We've been married 37 years, so I guess it's not like I will get rid of him. Sunny D thanks for letting me know how much weight one should lose per week I was wondering that.
I don't have a outside job, love being at home, and delite in taking care of my home, we built it about nine years ago and I swear I am still making improvements since I walked in the door, 2 months ago we put in hard wood floors, what a mess, but it looks so nice. I love to cross stitch, been doing it since I was six, grandma taught me and my grandaughter who just turned 9 is taking up my craft, even when she was little she had to pull my needle through for me.So I taught her. Well I best run laundry needs done, and for some reason it just won't jump in the machine by itself. Plus our church is getting ready for it's Easter program, so a few things need ironed out for that. I hope everyone has a great day, and will continue to pray for all in this awesome family.
Nancy

Thank-you so much for the *Beautiful* E-card
and the Birthday Wishes, Michele!
So far it has been a very relaxing day... we
were gonna leave early to gat-about, but Joe is
not feeling up-to-par today so he is napping for a bit
before we head out. I think it will do him allot of
good to nap... his hip has really been hurting him.
Thank-you again for your thoughtfulness everyone!

Mitchypoo 02-09-2005, 11:32 AM So Sunny.........did you eat cake??? ;)
SunnyD57 02-09-2005, 12:50 PM Hi Michele,
Well, it was a pretty laid back -NICE- day for us yesterday :) It began with a phone call of birthday wishes from my parents... it's always nice to hear from them :D Then we did some running around from place to place, we needed to get the E-check done on the jeep, what a pain (we passed this time :) ) & then renewed the License Tags. Then... we went shopping at *Bath & Body Works* (love that shop) where Joe bought me a candle, bath gel & lotion for my birthday... he wanted me to choose which one I wanted because there were so many new scents to choose from when he went to get me something on his own... I enjoyed them all! But the one I chose was *Creme Brulee* ("oh my goodness" yummy!!). There was also *Angel Food Cake* (yummy!), *Lemon Meringue* & *Chocolate Fondue*. These are not desserts ;) Well... I guess they could be, depends on how you look at it  :o  Then we went to a Vitamin Shoppe & Target to do a little shopping, I didn't feel like going to a movie yesterday, just wanted to get out with Joe. After his morning nap he said he felt so much better.
When we got home at around 4:00... Joe's sister, Annie, called me and sang *Happy Birthday* to me (sweet!) and then we chatted for about 40 minutes about our diets... she just got back from a month long vacation and is feeling really plump (she said that, not me ;) ) --- she is a tiny little thing too. Being today is the beginning of Lent we both thought it would be a great beginning to the cleansing process from all the junk 'we' have eaten in the last two to three weeks. I am so glad  I really do need to get back "on program" again before I am out of control! I eat way too many bad foods (nibbles here and there) when I am feeling good / healthy and then it all catches up with me. I sure do have a food hangover from last night ( "where's the truck that hit me!" ), but it was FUN! I'm getting ahead of myself... after me & Annie chatted, Joe & I left for dinner at one of our fav. restaurants... we met our friends, Mike & Peggy, there and had a great dinner! I had... "Oh my goodness" ,great tasting :T Chicken Marsala with Portabella Mushrooms (my mouth is watering as I am thinking of it again!). I even got a FREE slice of Birthday Cake afterwards ( just took a bite or two - I saved most of it for the freezer ). Then we came back here and had some decaf coffee and more cake (oink! oink!). This morning I felt like caca, poopy, crapola... (my spell check wants to fix these words - *LoL* ), but I had a super time!! But while I felt this way this morning I wrapped everything up and threw it in the spare-room freezer. Not to be touched till after Easter now... if then. I am going on a *NO SUGAR* fast for the 6 weeks of Lent and am going to try to eat more fruit and veggies instead, in hopes that it becomes a great habit by then. I thawed out some shrimp to snack on today (YUM!) & fish for dinner tonight. I am looking forward to it & feeling better again! I'm not sick like before (yeah) just feeling crummy from all the sugars :faint:
Here is a picture of me with the cake Joe bought me :D
Isn't the cake pretty? He did good :smug:

How are YOU feeling Michele?
Still doing well on your program?
Hope that everyone is having a good day!

Mitchypoo 02-09-2005, 01:19 PM Look how pretty you are in pink!! And yes, Joe did good. That is such a pretty and yummy looking cake. Sounds like you had a wonderful day! I'm so glad, you deserve it.
I'm doing well, i've lost 14 lbs. so far. I feel really good about the program, i like what i'm eating, it's very balanced and healthy. I don't feel deprived. I can be on plan and have a glass of wine occassionally, or other things that feel like you are cheating but you aren't. Tonight I do my PT test, to finish my PT. I'm only happy it's ending because i'm better and because it's 2 nights a week that i can now do other things, like go to the gym or something.
Had support group last night, had 4 women. It's going well. I felt a little nervous because of one of the girls, long story, but the other facilitator is working on it.
I had a gift yesterday, we are now selling AAA at work and our rep came by to train us on some things and i was given a FREE membership for roadside assistance......i was floored....and i needed it so bad. God is good how he takes care of us in the wierdest ways sometimes. Then i got home last night and saw that BOTH my headlights were out? Did i already post this? Deja vu? So i HAD to go to the tire store and see if they'd put the 2 bulbs i had in my car that i didn't know how to change and i needed the other headlight added too, it only cost me $24 something, well worth it to me.
More later (i'm being bad, i should be working)...
Christalynn 02-09-2005, 01:44 PM Hello Everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted in a day or so. We had more snow yesterday and my 1st meeting with my English Conversation Partner was called off and college was closed for the rest of the day. I'm hoping that Tuesday will be the day we can finally meet. I should be receiving my violin soon..can't wait to start lessons..that is if I can find someone who is ok with teaching a lefty.
How man pages do you go before starting a new thread?
Sunny-Happy belated birthday..sorry I missed it.
Have a good day
Mitchypoo 02-09-2005, 02:16 PM You'd have to cross the pond, , Christina, but Teel plays violin i think! ;) Hey, Teel, where are you sweets?
SunnyD57 02-09-2005, 05:59 PM Hi Christina, Thank-you for the birthday wishes...
I am usually the one who begins new threads and I like to go about 8-9 pages before I begin a new one. There are some groups here who have never begun new threads and they go well into the 20's but it's usually 9 for us here. And I will leave a link to the NEW THREAD when I do begin one. I hope I have answered your question. It really shouldn't matter how many pages if you subscribe and then have an e-mail sent to you - all you have to do is click on the link when you get an e-mail, easy. Just follow what Michele / Michypoo wrote a few posts back.
Here is Michele's quoted directions to do that:
But to make it so you get an email when there is a new post you do the following:
Go to the purple menu up top and choose: User CP
Then go to: Edit Options
Then go to Messaging & Notificaiton and there's a section for Default Thread Subscription Mode and choose 'Instant email notification' from the pull down. Then you will get an email with a link to the post and you just click on that and you are there.
Sounds complicated, but it isn't. Good luck!
Thanks Michele ;)
:bravo: girl --- another pound gone!
WooHoo
Later,
SunnyD

EZMONEY 02-09-2005, 11:52 PM HI GALS
Just sitting here stuffed from Angie's fritata...YUM!! We love them around here. tonight was a new one: spinach, feta cheese, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, oregano and basil. Then the tamale lady came by and I bought a dozen chicken and pork..had to have one while they were hot ;)
Gave blood today after work, took an hour...I am a red cell donor so it takes a little longer to take a couple of pints out and put it back. For awhile they wouldn't let me do it because they said my O neg. was too valuable and they needed it for the premies...as for me I don't care..wherever it does the most good....doesn't really belong to me anyway does it?
Glad to hear you had a happy birthday SUNNYD . Good job on the candles..we use candles almost daily here, Angie is a consultant for Party Lite Candles.
MICHELE You are sure going for that BIGGEST LOOOOSER AWARD!! Good for you. Two headlights at the same time?
Get out and get walkin' WILMA ..you're starting to sound like me....sure would like to go with ya Angie but it's just too...hot/cold/game on/game just over/just opened this beer/I'll go tomorrow/gotta make a call/ah, I just showered/I need to shower..... ;) At least YOU have a good reason. Prayers for DS.
CRAFTYMOM The house we are having built is in Kennewick..is that close to you? It gets cold there too.
MKAY DOMINOES?!! On Superbowl Sunday...ahhhhh! My daughter lives in her boyfriend's grandparents condo with another girl and male friends..plus her boyfriend is always there...they were going to have a party..had the snacks...then the guys decided to go golfing 'cause no one was there and the rates were lower...so she did homework...turned it on for the halftime show then back to homework...now my daughter is not a football fan but likes to watch her old high school games etc....but she said she would have rather driven the hour home and watched with me than all alone...EVEN if she only knew one team playing, the Eagles. How is the "communication" going? Prayers.
SAMI, SPROUT, TEEL, CHRISTALYNN, NANCY , BUNNA , LBSBGONE...and anyone else I forgot...HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
Outta here...Gary
Crime girl 02-10-2005, 12:39 AM Hi everyone!
I thought I would hop on your thread if that is OK.
Have enjoyed reading all your posts.
Anyway-
wilma12 02-10-2005, 10:14 AM Just a short note before heading off to work. I'm doing well with my eating but still struggling with the walking. I KNOW GARY!!! I'm becoming the excuse lady.
We had our fridge checked out last night. It's dying a slow death. The freezer compartment is now our fridge and we put the frozen stuff outside. It's that cold up here still. We went shopping last night for a new one and found one that suits us. It gets delivered tomorrow. This was an expense we didn't need. We are still renovating our kitchen and have a wedding to pay for. HELP! We'll be fine but it does cause more stress than I need right now.
Way to go Michele. You're doing awesome. What's different about this plan from the others? Keep up the great work.
Welcome Crime girl. Tell us about yourself.
Donna: I'm glad your birthday went well. Sounds like you had a great day. Aren't we blessed to have these guys in our life?
Hope everyone has a great day!
doitforme 02-10-2005, 12:28 PM I been gone so long no chance catching up, so just start from here. I was so stung out at work ect. that I never found time to post. But things have leveled out some. One of my clients was in the hospital and was having a problem with vomiting, and they put a feeding tube in, which meant she could no longer reside at my community residence. She had to move to a more medical residence. They were going to do a lateral transfer with another client, with out waiting to see if this was a permanent tube, as doc. listed it temporary, and I faught against that happening. I got the ombudsman person involved ect. But to make a long story short she is still be respited in a medical fragile house pending permanent placement if tube becomes permanent. Between all that and Christmas ect. It seemed I popped in to say I didn't have time to post, which seemed pointless. Enough of that. I went to Hawaii in Nov. had wonderful relaxing vacation. I am taking my youth group on amissions trip to virginia in April and have been working on the outfits for the skits they will perform, and been getting ready to go to China in June or July to pick up the baby my sister is adopting. So I guess things haven't slowed down completely enough about me. E.Z. those puppies gotta be big by now. Happy belated b-day sunny you look so happy in your pictures joe did do well with the cake. Wilma- one of your sons must be getting married how exciting! Mitchy sounds like your doing well with your new plan.
doitforme 02-10-2005, 12:36 PM Hi sami- how's all with you! Sprout- Missed your devotions, angel-lover- how you doing?, bunna and everyone else. There are several new people since I was here last. Look forward to getting to know you. I got a new computer was having lots of problems posting on the old, which also added to the fustration, I just recently got serious about dieting again, that had slid as well, but have been doing low fat and low calorie, have lost 15 lbs of what was put on, so going good so far. Its weird this is kind of like coming home. Pray all is well with you. Gotta go to work, just know you were all in my thoughts and prayers, and missed. God Bless Sue
Good Afternoon All.
Welcome Crime Lady! We are quite fun. Hobbies? Kids? Hubby?
EZ- After 2 of my Battlefield of the Minds bible studies and after our life team last Saturday, the light went on regarding my purpose. So, needless to say, I'm becoming more attentive to DH and his needs and what makes him tick and the same at work with friends, etc. I feel God's presence as I go throughout the day.
doitforme- Welcome back after a bit or so. Hawaii...yeah! Sounds good to me.
Michele- I did not get a chance to get Scheryl's thing in the mail. I will be going on the way home to take care of it. It is lovely.
Sunny- Your color my friend is PINK and more PINK! It matches your coloring in your face.
I'm NOT doing good food wise. I think I probably gained back 10 of my lbs. I'm wondering if the Lexapro is making me gain or if it's the food I'm shoving in my mouth. The sun is out today so perhaps I will take myself for a walk after work.
Wilma- At least you're being good about the food. I would LOVE a treadmill or exercise bike.
Well my friends...time to get back to the grind.
Hugs to you...
Mitchypoo 02-10-2005, 03:03 PM I know i posted earlier????......Well...
Crime Girl~Welcome and OF COURSE you can jump on....we'd love to get to know you. What kind of eating plan are you doing? How can pray for you or support you?
Sue~SO HAPPY you came back! You sound very busy and very involved, but please come back and post soon.
Mkay, it's ok, she's not in a huge hurry. I can't wait to see it!
Gary~frittata, yum! And you have a tamale lady? and she delivers? Gosh, you are spoiled. ;)
Going for WI tonight, hope to change my ticker soon!
SunnyD57 02-10-2005, 03:04 PM  :flow1: *Welcome HOME Sue!!!!!!!!!!* :flow1:
I didn't think you were ever coming back!?! I am sooooo glad you have! I asked about you often, in hopes you would :D It's just so good to see you again... I hope you won't stay away as long next time!!! :^:
Boy-o-boy, you sure have been busy!! :dizzy: Your trip to Hawaii sounded wonderful... we've never been. Maybe one day...
So you are going on a misson trip in April with the kids --- I so missed hearing about your trips and costume making for the kids! You should have popped in - even if it was brief - I was worried about you! :^:
Angel doesn't post much on here, but I stay in touch with her and she could use some prayers... she has been having some back problems that is taking it's toll on her health. Please keep her in your *prayers*
WooHoo :bravo: WooHoo
You have lost 15 lbs.!!! Great job! :cp: I too am on a Low Fat program and do very well on it... I am so happy for you that you are having such good results too.
It's so good to see you again, Sue!
I missed you!
Can you tell ;)

*Welcome Crime Girl* Why have you chosen that username... if I may ask? Sure you can come on in - this thread welcomes all :)
Hi Wilma, Yes, Yes, Yes... we are! Nuff said ;) :D
Hi Gary, Thank you again for all your prayers and cute birthday graphics ;) Joe & I had a great day together :)
Joe gives blood quite often too --- I do when I am well enough to, sometimes I come up anemic and they won't let me (even though I am on iron). He always feels better when he gives, heath-wise... do you?
As usual... your dinner sounded wonderful!! :T
MKay, Thank you so much... my mother loves me in pink too. My father likes me in Red with my fair skin and dark hair - he loves red period ;)
How have YOU been these days? Making any jewelry for craft fairs coming up in the Spring?

Me again...
I fought a terrible hang-over headache... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/ZF_UH_154.gif all this morning... I finally caved and took a migraine pill, so it was gone within 20 minutes after I took it. I hate taking them (the pills), but it works! I wait till I cannot take the pain any longer to take it - even though I know I shouldn't.
Today we are getting snow http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/h_snow1365.gif - pretty - (huge snow flakes), but I don't think we'll get allot. We are having problems here with ice dams causing floods in our area too... it's really bad! It's not hitting Joe & I directly,
but it's all around us.
I have lots to be done, just haven't done it yet. I did run the vacuum yesterday and got the house cleaned up, but I have so much to get done in this office and I find that all I accomplish is "shutting the door"
so I don't have to look at it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/L_08HI186.gif
I had a frustrating day the other day with the computer, downloaded the New Norton Anti-Virus 2005 program and it changed allot of settings to protect me from bugs and virus' --- it's a great program, but frustrating... thank goodness I got it all sorted out. Some days I have such *Love http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/C_LOVE197.gif / Hate* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/a_hit108.gif feelings about this computer!
Great shows on tonight :D *CSI-Vegas* *Without a Trace* & *ER* --- I enjoy Thrusday evenings :goodvibes

Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Being thin is a wonderful goal. Regaining health and vigor is also great. Looking and feeling good are important, but both pale in comparison with how good it is to please the Lord by being the best people we can be. When we diet, we not only gain physically, but also spiritually. Resisting temptation tones our spiritual being as well as dieting tones our physical being. When we reach our goal in our diet, we reach a second goal, as well: We do what is pleasing to God. When we are faithful to do the will of the Lord, we can rest assured that we have an eternal home with Him.
Today's thought: Dieting makes me a spiritual overcomer as well as a physical overcomer!
Mitchypoo 02-10-2005, 06:57 PM Sunny~ A hang over??!!!! Well, i'm glad you got rid of that migraine. They are no fun. Do you not like the side-effects of the medication, why wait so long? I take Maxalt and don't have any side-effects, maybe ask your dr. for a sample.
SunnyD57 02-10-2005, 07:11 PM Michele... you silly goose --- a FOOD / SUGAR HANG-OVER! :lol3: I can't/don't drink, so what else could it be  You make me laugh so hard sometimes...
As for the headache - it's all gone now. I got it from enjoying too much cake and then having NOTHING with sugar. The withdrawal makes me get a headache... changing my BP. I am fine now and my BP is normal (I have my own machine).
We got a good 4 inches of snow today --- did you get any?
Thanks Sprout!

Mitchypoo 02-10-2005, 07:21 PM Well............I didn't think you drank, but you said.......I fought a terrible hang-over headache... Oh no, i'm getting really literal......i'm turning into my mother.......acckkk... ;)
We had a dusting of snow this a.m. but not today. But we may tonight and then it's going to be 49-50 tomorrow! Weird winter. You should go make snow angels...

:faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: SUE????? IS THAT YOU??? REALLY YOU???? :cb: :cb: :cb: :cp: :cp: :cp:
SUE Great to hear from you! So glad things are going pretty well and you had a nice vacation in Hawaii. My kids love it there, my son trys to go at least once a year...he has a time share he bought cheap from his grandparents...who bought it years ago...so he gets a few buddies/gals together and they go CHEAP!!
MKAY Not to get "IN YOUR FACE"...but based on the info you just gave me....do you listen to Dr. Laura?...I like a lot of what she says...anyway in case you don't know she has a book out that sounds really good FOR THOSE that might need it...Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands....just a thought...not trying to be pushy!!!!! after all it is HIS FAULT!!!!! ;)
SUNNYD Good for Joe on the blood! I really never fell any different other than happy to be able to donate, Amanda has a tough time giving to for the same reasons as you, they suggest iron tablets and don't go around a "certain" time of the month. LOVE CSI-VEGAS!! Angie NEVER misses ER..I enjoy it but can fall asleep sometimes...Hooked on tons of TV just not ER. My daughter and her boyfriend went to the taping of TWO AND A HALF MEN last week...had a great time...Angie and I really like it too, of course our Friday night date with REBA!!!
MICHELE and DONNA what is this with all the hangovers? Starting to sound like me..OH :o ...not THOSE hangovers  Michele, we do have a tamale lady that delivers...but...TRUE STORY!...she packs the tamales in a green garbage bag and pushes them in a baby stroller...I AM NOT KIDDING!! not sure how sanitary it is but we have never (KNOCK ON WOOD) got sick! I buy them from her because I appreciate her ambition to better herself. She doesn't speak much english...but I can tell she really appreciates me buying from her and my little "don't tell your ma" tips of a few bucks I give her daughter, who is around 12.
WILMA You know I was only kidding right? I am a weenie when it comes to COLD!! Prayers for the wedding $$$$$ and the new fridge!!
Welcome CRIMEGIRL !
Well gotta jam....coming Angie!!!...what does she want now??
finally ready 02-10-2005, 09:55 PM Just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a nice week-end,I doubt if I'll be able to check any posts till maybe late Sunday. Watching the grandchildren Friday evening so mom and dad can go out for a early valentines day dinner. Then Sunday after church the day will be pretty taken up with practice for the Easter play. Did get to the Christian Book Store today, they had a great sale going on and seeing that Easter Day is Destinys (grandaughter) birthday I got her some series she wanted to read, and of course I found a book for me too.Well better run, wanting to do some cross-stitching before bed. Have a good one.

Christalynn 02-10-2005, 11:09 PM MKay- Thank you so much.. the Bryan Duncan cd arrived today and I'm listening to it as I type. It has all my favorite songs on it :D
My mom offered to pay for my WW meetings if I would continue to go. I think I will combine the two since I had a good supply of SF products. The shakes and bars will cost me about 14 points and that leaves me with 12 points for the rest of the day. I can do it since I struggle with my points anyway.
I bought the best scale tonight. It weighs me the same as WW. It has a memory and stores my height, age and that I'm a female. It also calculates my bmi. I paid either 30 or 40 dollars for it at Bed Bath and Beyond. I have a short memory :^:
I hope everyone has had a good day.
I need coffeeeeeeee :coffee:
Christalynn- You are so very welcome. It is peaceful music and his lovely voice is soothing to any ears, wounds, etc.
EZ- I just may look into that book. I just feel like the Holy Spirit and I are overcoming some of the wars of the world. Amen! DH is so very sick today and the past couple of days. I am babying him. I really enjoy babying kids, husbands, etc. who are not feeling well. You're not getting in my face...we must all listen to other people who have been there or whatever or else we may miss something. I appreciate your harshness... (kidding).
Sunny- I KNOW those hang-over headaches. When I started SB diet, I had them for a bit and then the sleepies for a couple days while by body was going through detox from the sugar.
Michele- You are so funny. Ya know, I see me becoming my mom as well...only in some areas. Actually, she is a lovely woman who hates turmoil.
Sprout- Great devotion!
Well, gotta go, a guy from the office just picked up his "mother's bracelet" for mom for valentines day and I need to go chat with him.
Later All!

wilma12 02-11-2005, 10:14 AM I'm so glad to hear that someone else is getting the snow for once. We have over 2 feet of it all over our lawn. Today it's supposed to get above 0C which means it'll feel like spring. I know that winter isn't over but I can pretend for a day or two.
I am planning to go shopping for curtains and drapes this weekend. I sure hope I find what I'm looking for. We've been curtain less for a few months and we really need some.
Our new fridge comes this a.m. I'm looking forward to having something I can trust again. It's getting too nice to use my deck as my freezer!
On Monday I go to the doc. to get my blood work test results. Hopefully they can explain my high BP and can do something about it without taking medications.
Have a super day!
Mitchypoo 02-11-2005, 10:49 AM Sprout(Marilyn)~:cheer: Happy Birthday!! :balloons: Are you going to eat cake? ;)
I was up a little last night at WI, but not enough to move my ticker! I guess i was a little bummed but it made me think that i need to find other choices and not get bored with the food. I'm having a hard time with the new plan too, they took a protein away and i'm use to my egg in the a.m.
Have no big plans for the weekend except working Sat., working out after. Have Alpha again on Sunday and I have to find a good joke.
No calls last night on the crisis-line......I like it when it's quiet, hopefully it's a sign that things are okay.
Mkay~I agree with Gary, i've heard a lot about that book from Dr.Laura and listen to her in the afternoon. She does have a lot of good to say...although i admit sometimes she upsets me too. That book has helped a lot of marriages and i'd think it'd absolutely be worth a read. It couldn't hurt. :grouphug: hang in there sweets...
doitforme 02-11-2005, 11:51 AM M-KAY- DR. LAURA GIVES OUT GREAT ADVISE MOST OF THE TIME I GOT A CHANCE TO LISTEN TO HER AT A CONFERENCE IN ALBANY LAST YEAR, VERY NO NON-SENSE MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER.
MITCHY- SORRY YOUR WEIGH-IN WASN'T WHAT YOU EXPECTED, BUT STAY FOCUSED AND DON'T GET DISCOURAGED, MAY BE JUST RETAINING SOME WATER, AND THE NEXT TIME YOU'LL SEE A BIG DROP. IT DOES GET FUSTRATING THOUGH.
SUNNY- YOU ARE SO SWEET, AND THANKS. THANKS FOR THE UPDATE ON ANGELIF YOU DO TAKE AN IRON SUPPLEMENT IT ABSORBS BETTER WHEN TAKEN WITH VIT. C CAN BE ROUGH ON THE TUMMY THOUGH. I LOVE CSI. SPIKE T.V. Sprout...Have a wonderful birthday and many many more!
doitforme...only a swim suit in Hawaii. Was it sunny all that time while you were put up in the hotel? I LOVE to snorkel.
Hey everyone...I DID NOT snack on junk last night. I only had 1/4 cup macadamia nuts after dinner and that's on the SB diet. I felt soooooo much better mentally this morning. :encore:
Sunny...I simply love looking at your graphics.
I'm going bride dress looking tomorrow with Jenny and then to the thrift stores. Now THAT'S my kind of Saturday. They still have not set a date and it's for this fall.
Well, I suppose I should go out and get to the Credit Union and shift around some funds. Hugs to everyone...

Christalynn 02-11-2005, 02:29 PM Hello.
My mom was diagnosed with cancer last year and went through Chemo and Radaition. Although we believe the cancer is gone, she has had terrible side effects due to the combination of the three.
She is going to the doctors this Monday to see if the cancer is gone, what the current problems are and what is going to be done about them.
I would appreciate it if you all would join me in praying for a good report.
Thanks.
Mitchypoo 02-11-2005, 03:34 PM Christina, prayers are on the way for DM. My DM is a breast cancer survivor and also went thru chemo and radiation. There is hope. You hang in there....:grouphug:
sprout 02-11-2005, 03:37 PM for the Birthday Wishes.
Hubby had to go to work early this morning and it looks like he won't be home till way late tonight - so we are going to celebrate tomorrow.
My daughter (who has Down Syndrome) has sung happy birthday to me about 10 times so far  It is so cute to here her - she told me that she had a cake for me and it was in the closet with the presents - a pig (I collect them), shirt, pants and underwear - I know this is not true but she is trying to tell me that there will be something later for me - she is so funny
Am looking for another pound loss when I get weighed again next week (Monday or Tuesday) - am working on just 1 pound at a time.
Have a good day everyone

Love's Check List
Read:
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love suffers long and is kind. —1 Corinthians 13:4
Bible In One Year: Leviticus 8-10
A woman named Nancy uses verses from 1 Corinthians 13 to help her cope with the frustrations of a busy family life. She calls verses 4 to 7 "Love's Check List" and refers to it when anger wells up within her.
Nancy gave an example of how she uses her check list. She was running errands one morning before she and her family were to leave on vacation. Her husband Bill was at home caring for the children and getting things ready for an early afternoon departure. When she arrived home after stopping at the grocery store, her mother's house, the post office, the bank, and the hospital to visit a friend, she found that all he had accomplished the entire morning was to wash and polish his car—which they weren't even taking on the trip!
Nancy was angry and said some harsh things to Bill. Within a few minutes the words of Love's Check List came to mind: "Love suffers long and is kind." She prayed, then she apologized to her husband for her angry outburst. He said he was sorry too, and they left that afternoon for their vacation—just a little late.
Next time you say angry, bitter things, remember Love's Check List in 1 Corinthians 13. Better yet, consider it before you say them. —Dave Egner
Lord, fill our hearts with Christlike love,
With goodness, kindness, care,
Lest bitter thoughts and hurtful words
Will find a welcome there. —D. De Haan
Bitter feelings can be sweetened when we take them to the Lord in prayer.
sprout 02-11-2005, 03:45 PM February 11
Romans 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Fat is the enemy. We have declared war, and it takes every ounce of strength we have to wage the battle. Yet, it is a battle well worth fighting. We sometimes need to look at fat as an enemy. We need to think of it as evil, in order to stay serious about battling it. If we allow ourselves to believe that it is anything less than evil, we stand in danger of learning to live with it. That can never be. It is an effrontery to the Christian life to allow evil to overcome that which is good. Rather, let us always strive to overcome what is evil with what is good.
Today's thought: I will not rest until the enemy has been eradicated!
EZMONEY 02-11-2005, 04:37 PM HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYNN :gift: :flow2: :cb:  :hb: :bravo: :hb: :cp:
Have you taped your daughter singing and played it back to her so she can see how sweet she sounds??
Have a WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BIRTHDAY
Prayers and Hugs..Gary
EZMONEY 02-11-2005, 04:49 PM MICHELE I am with you on Dr. Laura...she has great advice but sometimes...er...a lot of the times she has that " too big for her britches!" attitude...that being said I think she is great.
MKAY I haven't read the book but I have heard many callers swear by it...but! You have to WANT your marraige to work...always the key...keep in mind the book points out faults of the wife I think. My friend has had a wife that has ignored him for over 10 years no matter how hard he tries...bought it for her and she just threw it away without even looking at it saying, " I don't need this."
SUE Yes and No on the puppy school..a lot worked but then Angie and I didn't stick with the HOME training as well as we should have, we may be going back soon. Ensenada huh, you were near me then just a couple hours away.
NANCY How is the cross- stitching going?
CHRISTALYNN Prayers for your mom.
WILMA OK Martha, I'm sending :hot: :flow2: :hot: :flame: :sunny: :flame: to warm you up!!
Gotta go....off early today and have to get chili and spaghetti sauce going for tonight and this week-end.............
EZ- The book sounds ok to me. I never really was the type to ignore DH. I believe I've given him much attention until this past December and January and some of February. I don't know if I just got sick and tired of feeling neglected or lonely or what but.....I do believe as some of what was in the exerpt (sp) of the book mentioned that if one changes, the other usually follows. I just need to stay consistent. I do believe the Lord allows me to see the truth about myself (not always nice either) when He knows I am ready to deal with it. My lightbulb went on regarding my "purpose." That's when I realized that I need to get back on track with DH. Thank you for your honesty.
Sprout- Birthday's are fun aren't they? I used to collect dice and dice "things." I have some really pretty ones too. I sorted them and kept the special ones and I am going to "try" to get rid of the remainder of the collection. Since I got most of them on ebay, I should go back there to get rid of them.
Christalynn- We pray to the Father that if there are any signs of cancer in mom's body, that the Holy Spirit flood her body and break up and destroy any cells before her checkup next week. We pray total wholeness in her body, physically, mentally and spiritually. We pray in Your name...Amen!
I really need to ck out Dr. Laura. When or where is she?
Gotta jet!
doitforme 02-11-2005, 05:33 PM M-KAY- We were on a shore excursion snorkling in a bay area, when the wind picked up and they couldn't safely transport us back to the ship. We just had our suits for snorkeling, we ended up buying sweatshirts, because it was cool come evening time. But being standed in Maui still was nothing to complain about . We had a very nice room, and meal compliments of royal carribbean. I also live to snorkel and if I am vacationing where it is warm enough we usually plan a snorkel trip. The best one so far was off the Cayman Islands. KUDOS STAYING OP GOOD JOB.
CHRISTINA- Lots of prayers for your mom, I do believe there is alot of power in prayer.
SPROUT-I help take care of a man who is 62 years old. He has downs syndrome, he lives in his own apt. in my apt. complex. He has severe diabetes and recently entered renal failure from the diabetes. He has a heart a mile wide. He goes camping with me in the summer. He has his own tent we set up, he has the time of his life. We have taken him on vacation a few times and he is like a member of my family. His own family doesn't pay any attention to him. He was self supportive for years working at a fruit market. He needs help now with managing his money ect. He is on SSI. That is how I got involved they were going institutionalize him, but with diet management and monitoring can continue to live at home. He gives as much as he gets, ;he is a sweet and innocent and is a pleasure most of the time. Again wonderful devotion. I read the daily bread all the time, and really enjoy that as well. that is way to go 1 lb at a time, gone forever.
doitforme 02-11-2005, 05:39 PM EZ- I wish I had known but it was a quick trip from Ensenada to San Diego, where we flew home. A hot cup of chili sounds wonderful, I have been cold all day, don't know why since the storm ended last night and the sun is shining. But might have to pop over for a cup.I am sure it is warmer there anyway. Since its in the low 30's and we just got about 6 inches of snow.
Hi to everyone else! see ya!
EZMONEY 02-12-2005, 03:55 PM HI LADIES
Just waiting for the rain to stop here, it is supposed to, and if it does my daughter will have a tennis match. I will head down to see her, just in case it gets rained out I sent her Valentine card down with her mom. My ex is going down anyway to take her shopping after the match. Angie is off at bell choir practice.
Puppies...RYLEE!! is driving me nuts! With all the rain they have been cooped up and are getting antsy, she keeps finding ways to get through the fence I have that keeps them on the concrete area...therefore she gets in the MUDDY part of the yard and has a ball!!
SUEI was going to send some of that chili, but then got to thinking it might get cold ;) It was pretty good, the Cinncinatti kind...it had cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, onions, garlic, paprika, dried mustard and chili powder in it. A little too much on the cloves for me but everyone liked it fine...we put it over rice.
MKAY I listen to Dr. Laura on the radio on a big sation in Los Angeles..MICHELE knows it I'm sure..KFI. She has a website...drlaura.com, if you go to it you will see Radio on the top left list...you click on that then your state and it will give you times and stations. Luck!
Well...off to do more laundry!! Gary
sprout 02-12-2005, 05:52 PM We brought home a puppy today!!
Long time ago I had raised chihuahua cross terrier - she was very little, pure white and lived till she was 18 years old.
Since then hubby and I have always had Shelties - there is one that would be ready in about another 6 weeks - but we came across an add in the paper of a maltese/chichuahua/poodle cross, male, 9 weeks old, white. So we went to have a look and fell in love with the pup. Should be a total of about 5 pounds when fully grown - very very small. Cute but in some ways homely - all white, curly hair that looks like it could be longer than the poodle but not long like the maltese.
We call him Koko - and our daughter is in love with him already. He has been home now for a couple of hours and has settled in very well. We pulled out the big wire cage we had for the Sheltie, cleaned it up, put in a 'doggy t |
