 Hello Plump girl from Southern California... Here is the thread I told you I would begin for us ;) Do you know that I am originally from California... too cool that you would search me out to be your buddy :) I am from the desert - 29 Palms - have you heard of it?
How are you doing today? Feeling any better? I do hope you are. What food program have you chosen to go on? Are you married?
I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner then this, but I was plum tuckered out from hosting the evening bible study last night and we were up and out of the house at 8:00 this morning. The study by-the-way was a total success, if I do say so myself :D I was sooo concerned that we wouldn't have enough seating for 14 people --- but it all worked out beautifully. The Lord has a way of working things out... doesn't He :smug:
I do hope to hear from you again... please know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers.

Good Morning :coffee2:
Well... I really don't know what happened to Plump-Girl  but if anyone else needs a place just to vent frustrations or if you need a little *pick-me-up* because of your spirits being a little low... do stop in. I will do my very best to lend a shoulder & and encouraging word.
I see that at least 20 of you have checked in on this thread ;) So do stop in... I only began this thread for plump-girl because she sent me a PM looking for a buddy, but I haven't heard from her yet. P-Girl... I am here if you still want to chat.
Here's a little tea for the spirits --- just as cleansing and comforting:
"My friends, you will have many kinds of troubles. But when these things happen, you should be very happy. You know that these things are testing your failth. And this will give you patience"

lbsbgone 01-17-2005, 02:39 PM Sunny D. were you with a military family as 29 Palms is almost all Marines, with the base there?
I've been trying very hard except have not gotten my exercise in and I show a gain on the scales at home. So could use some encouragment. Well, I only had a minute to post.
Take care and happy weight loss and healthier eating to you.

SunnyD57 01-17-2005, 06:26 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/valgr02amreta1.gif
Hi Lbsbgone, Yes, my father is a retired Marine officer and he met my mother in 29 Palms... I am their first born ;) I grew up all over the U.S. but was mostly there in 29 Palms. I still have some family living there not far from the base.
I used to weigh 235 lbs. at my heaviest years ago & had lost over 95 lbs. I kept it off for almost 8 years and then after some deaths and trials in the family I went to my old ways of comforting myself with food... it didn't take long in finding myself back up to 216 lbs :o So... ... I began to walk again that I may get this weight under control before I got all the way up to 235 again, in the year and few months I have back to walking and just recently really watching my diet I have dropped 27 lbs. and feel that I am well on my way to reaching my goal.
You can do this too, but it takes daily talks with our Lord for strength (& to yourself)... you have to look at your food program like you are making better choices for your health and well-being, not that you are depriving yourself... just that you are making better choices. I have tried just about every diet, but the best program for me is to go *low fat* *no caffeine* *no dairy* & smaller portions 6 times a day & getting off of sugar as much as possible (I use Splenda). I have had many surgeries after a pretty bad auto accident in 1976 and now cope with severe IBS flare-ups if I don't stick with this food program... when I make good choices I have very good days. Basically am doing this on my own at home and with the support of my hubby & all my buds here at 3fatchicks. I try my utmost to stay upbeat because it does help so many others, and in that process, it does help me to keep going each day too.
Can you tell me a bit more about YOU???
(((Hugs))) to you Lbsbgone & to all of you trying so hard to make it a better day, everyday!
Always,
SunnyD

lbsbgone 01-17-2005, 07:11 PM I am not from a military family, I just happen to know where 29 Palms is because I live in the desert of California. My husband and I are both disabled. We live on a very small income and share a house with my 85 year old widowed FIL. I have been a Christian since the mid 1980's, but because of alot of health problems I wasn't always active in a local church body and found my Christian life a little stagnate. Dh is a Christian, but had an experience at a church which left him discouraged so he was backslidden for a large period of time. I am happy to say that we are both now growing and walking with the Lord and that we are members of a local church and as involved as our health will allow.
I was not overweight as a child nor in high school (but thought that I was because I wore a size 9 clothes and I am 5'8" tall.) In about 1989, dh had a desire to lose weight and wanted my help, so we both joined Jenny Craig even though I was only 20 lbs. overweight. We were much more financially able at that time to be able to afford Jenny Craig and became lifetime members. I kept the weight off for a year. During that time I was told by my doctor that I should quit work because of my health. So between adjusting to being at home and the fact that at this same time dh became very sick also and had to leave a well paying job, we started to suffer physically and financially and these stresses made my weight climb to 228 lbs. About a year ago, I lost 42 lbs. on a low cholesterol diet and kept it off for a year, then got bored with that food plan and went back to eating more sugar and also eating out with FIL on a regular basis at his favorite restaurant which does not know the meaning of low fat on their menu. Therefore, the pounds crept up to 218 lbs., I now hover around 208 lbs.
Dh's dr. put him on disability about two years ago. I'm always hoping that he will walk with me for exercise, but he very seldom feels well enough and I cannot find the motivation to do it on a consistent basis on my own. My church is in another town, so I do not live close enough to a church member to walk with them. Although, I am following the TOPS plan pretty much, I am not a member of TOPS. I just have their books which I am reading to try and get insight on this weight loss journey. The book that I am currently reading deals alot with success stories. It is great, but I really need a structured diet to follow and am hoping that the 2nd TOPS book that I got as a Christmas gift will address that issue.
My goal weight is 140 lbs. I would like to lose 40 lbs. between now and September when dh and I take a professional portrait for our 20th wedding anniversary and then go from that point to goal weight. I want to do this for life as I want to make the best food and exercises choices that I can within my limitations of health.
Without going into my specific illness, I just wanted to say that losing weight would only help my cholesterol it would not improve my disabiling illness, but it would greatly help dh with some of his ailments to lose some weight although he would still have his disabiling illness no matter what his weight...
Well, that is probably more than you wanted to know about me. Thanks for listening. By the way we try to only eat Splenda sweetened products and drink no carbonated beverages.

 Hi Lbsbgone,
Sorry I haven't been back till now... I just felt like taking a break from the computer yesterday is all :goodvibes
Monday my girlfriend, Peggy, and I were suppose to go shopping at the Craft Ctr. and then go to lunch together. Well... ... we did go to lunch together, but the weather has gotten so crummy here we didn't dare go further then the "in town" diner for lunch. We just felt it best to stay close to home, so spent the whole day here visiting with me leaving just for our lunch out. All-in-all we had a great 'catch-up' visit with one another. By the time she left it was time for me to make dinner & my hubby came home. Sorry I never made it back here. As for yesterday I just got into watching some Classic movies that I have on DvD & the taped shows I wanted to see so I could use the tape again to record *American Idol* for my hubby...
so I vegged all day :bubbles:
Did you happen to catch *American Idol* last night?? Do you watch it? Just too funny for the most part!! Some of those people... I really felt sorry for, though... they really thought that they had a shot to become a good singer. Something what you think you can do verses the reality of what you can do. Simon & Paula even made the statement that these parents should stop telling their kids they are good at things when they aren't cuz they are causing more pain for their kids in the long run... I think there's some truth to that. Because Joe & I are interested in music and sing we both enjoy shows like this.
Same here Lbsbgone, I don't drink anything carbonated either... and I only use Splenda. That's a great start for us both, not to mention that I am from the desert and you now live there. Nope, I didn't mind you sharing at all! In fact I liked that you did... share away ;)
You know, come to think about it... I wasn't overweight as a child or young adult either... I just thought I was when I was a teen, but I really wasn't. Boy, do I wish I weighed now what I weighed then :^: funny how different things really were when we take that look back. I put the weight on after my car accident and surgeries...
I was just wondering something Lbsbgone... you are 5' 8" --- do you think that 140 is a little low? I am 5' 5" and I was told by my Dr. that 155 is a good weight for me. I'd like to be 140 again, but I need to tackle one goal first. Maybe your bone structure is different... so that's why I asked? Please don't be offended. I will support you in any way I am able to --- we'll support one another :goodvibes
Time for me to go now...
Hope to catch you later and that you haven't left,
sorry I was gone so long.
(((Hugs)))

lbsbgone 01-19-2005, 11:13 PM I totally understand about wanting periodic breaks from the computer. Sorry, I watch no tv, so have not seen American Idol. I find that when I do not feel like being on the computer then I will grab a good book before watching tv. I usually do not use the library because sometimes it can take me several weeks to finish a book and when I get a book from the library and know that it is due on a certain date, then I feel pressure and do not enjoy the book as much as if I own it and read it at my leisure. I buy only books that I want to keep on my bookshelf and reference back to. I find them inexpensively through the internet or ask for them as gifts for my birthday or Christmas.
I hope that I sleep tonight because I dozed off after dinner. I hardly ever fall asleep this late in the evening and in general have a hard time napping during the daytime too. I don't sleep well at night though, so I never feel rested.
So sorry to hear that you were involved in a serious car accident and have required surgeries.
I had a 1/2 lb. loss today. Not much, but it is better than a gain.
So glad that you and your girlfriend had a nice day together. Too bad that the weather did not cooperate though.
Other than church activities and errands, I am pretty much a home body. I do enjoy a night off from cooking though and we have so many wonderful restaurants within our area that it is fun to go to one every so often. Our budget usually requires that we choose plain Jane restaurants unless it is a special occassion like an anniversary and then we will save up and go somewhere nice.
I asked the dr. awhile back for a goal weight for me he said 145 and I said well, I think that I can get down to 140 so he said well give it a try. I have spent most of my life between 128 and 140 lbs. Although I was 153 lbs. when I agreed to join Jenny Craig years ago with dh. I carry my weight well for someone my size. However the book that I am reading calculated my current Body Mass Index as severely obese at 210 lbs. and 5'8" tall. What an eye opener that was. I knew that I was obese, but never thought of myself as SEVERELY obese.
Well, one of my cats that looks just like your cat in your Christmas photos is hanging all over the keyboard, I guess that is my hint that she wants attention and not to have me be typing, so I will close this letter for now.
Thanks again for writing back. Take care!

Good Afternoon Lbsbgone, How are you feeling? Is that headache leaving you yet?? I am very concerned as I expressed on the CER's thread.
So you don't watch any TV? I am sorry to say that I am hooked on allot of programs --- I am a big HGTV & CSI fan and they have three nights of shows. I don't watch soaps - haven't in about 5 years now, just stopped watching them, but I do enjoy a good Sherlock Holmes show like CSI and a couple of the reality shows like *Survivor* & *American Idol* Joe & I sing at our church in a small group and so we enjoy Idol and the singers that are good on there. Anyway... enough of me trying to justify my TV watching ;)
How have you been sleeping lately? You doing any better? I find that I sleep better during the summer when I am outdoors more during the day --- I garden allot during the Spring & Summer into the Fall and it keeps me very busy. During the Winter I don't sleep as well... waking up several times. In fact, I woke up this morning at 2:30 and have been up since. Maybe I will sleep better tonight.
What do you do for a hobbie? I enjoy making my cards for friends and family, they take allot of my time, but it's fun! I also enjoy taking pictures with my new digital camera.
Do you know how to post pictures?? I'd sure enjoy seeing you and your pets :) if you don't mind sharing...
I hope to hear from you soon --- let me know that you are okay ;)
*God Bless*

lbsbgone 01-26-2005, 07:51 PM Your e-mails always brighten up my day. There was one Christian exercise show that I used to really enjoy years ago called "Beverly Exercise." However, when we moved from the high desert to the low desert we changed cable companies and could no longer get the show. I've tried finding a web-page for them on the internet, but it really looked half done and as if they were no longer broadcasting the show. I do know that when I watched the show the exercise hostess often talked of her husband being in ill health, so maybe that is why she no longer produces the show.
Neither my husband or myself are very musical. I love to sing to the Lord even if it is offkey and I think that He is pleased that I am praising Him whether on or offkey.
The books that I like to read are budgeting, frugal and simple living and fitness books. I do read Christian books like "The Purpose Driven Life" and "The Prayer of Jabez." The Boundaries in Marriage series by Dr. Townsend and Dr. Cloud is an excellent bible study. What even made it better is that our associate pastor has a doctorate in psychology and has a psycho-therapy practice along with being a pastor and his insight as he lead the study was absolutely great! I have quite a few cookbooks, but I tend to wing it in the kitchen instead. I find that recipes generally increase my food bills.
I am not very computer literate. My dear husband is very computer literate and is the church digital photographer and newsletter editor. This takes alot of his time, but I find that when he has a day when he feels good (which is rare as he is disabled) and he is caught up on his church obligations, he will post pictures for me. So one of these days, I may just may surprise you with a few pictures of me, my husband and the cats. Although, my husband is generally behind the camera taking the pictures so he seldom gets in the pictures.
Taking care of my 85 year old FIL takes alot of my time as he knows nothing about cooking, laundry, cleaning...
Although I haven't done it in a long time I used to do latch hook rugs and embroidery on kitchen towels and pillowcases. Both of which my dear grandmother taught me. I really don't have the room to do alot of crafts as we live in one bedroom of FIL's house and the rest of our things are in storage sheds in the back yard. I do not know how to sew and really am not too crafty.
I send alot of cards too, but I buy my cards every July from Current, Inc. that is when they have their year end closeouts. I also send greeting cards from church to the members.
My headaches come and go. However, dh and I are going to get a memory foam pillow each to see if a good supportive pillow will help some as we have neck pain too. We currently have down pillows.
I never sleep well, no matter what time of the year. My new doctor is hesitant in prescribing anything for me for sleep because the last doctor to prescribe anything for my sleep left me with fainting spells because it dropped my blood pressure to 80/50. My blood pressure has always been low. Too low at times. My dh envys my blood pressure readings as he takes meds for his blood pressure.
Well, I had better close this novel for now. Take care!

Good Morning Lbsbgone!
I am so glad to hear that I brighten your day... you made mine by saying that. Thank-you ;) If I can bring some Sonshine into someone's life it bring more joy into mine :smug:
My how the time just seems to get away from me! I usually don't post often on the weekends, but this time I got all caught up in some early Spring cleaning I began on Monday and just haven't been on the computer long enough to post - just checked in once in awhile.
How have you been? My goodness you live in a very small place from your description... I don't know how you do it. I give you allot of credit! I need space... I too took care of my FIL - he has since passed, but I did it for about 6 years... he was 87 when he passed on two years ago now. I use to go over to his apartment and do his laundry, did some cooking and cleaned for him & helped him with his finances. But his last 3 years he was in a nursing home and they cared for him & Joe & I visited often. They took such good care of him too. We could not have done it... he just needed too much care with his meds and all. Is your FIL in good health?
Oh my goodness... Current! I use to order from them all the time, but haven't since I have begun making all my own cards. Now you have given me the urge to check them out again :) ;) I enjoy their products allot!
Yesterday I started sorting, packing & cleaning at around 9am and didn't finish till 7:30pm, but I sure got allot done :D I have been sorting through old boxes trying to figure out what to keep and what not to and that isn't easy for me --- I hold on to everything. But I thought while I was in the mood I would begin to do it. It all started with me buying new bins for the Christmas Decorations and now it's gone into major cleaning and sorting. I must say... it feels pretty good (now) to purge things I would use or look at again. So... while I still feel this way I want to finish up ;) Well, I really must be going... I have another very full day ahead of me and need to get started.
Hope you have a Wonderful Day, Lbsbgone!!
We are having sunshine again today, day #5! But very cold! 15* this morning. How about you? How's your weather? It makes all the difference in the world to enjoy the sun! I feel so much happier :sunny:
Hope you have a Wonderful Day!!

lbsbgone 02-06-2005, 08:35 PM Hello Sunny D! How are you? I wrote you a long message a few days ago only it wouldn't go through because dh had accidentally erased the cookie for the site and then I tried to log on and had forgot my password, so I see that my message is floating in cyber space somewhere.
We've had a busy week too. We have done some deep cleaning and making meals for a friend who is losing the battle with cancer and will be in Jesus arms soon.
Dh is at the churches Superbowl party for men. I will pick him up when the game is over.
Yes, we do live in a small space and it is not easy. Especially for a person who is organizationally challenged like me. I'm a visual person so I want things on desk tops... or else I forget about them.
Our weather has been in the mid 70's. Just what you wanted to hear when your weather has been so cold. I like our winters and spring, but HATE our summer and fall weather. It's like baking in an oven.
Well, my cat is all over me wanting attention so I guess that I will close this letter for now. I hope that this letter goes through this time and that it finds you doing fine.

:sunny: Good Morning Lbsbgone,
So good to hear from you ;) Sorry you lost your post again... now that I write in my e-mail first (just as if I were sending one off) & then just do a copy and paste to the forum when I am finished - I don't worry about that anymore. I lose the post all the time here too, but then I just go back to my e-mail page & do a *copy and paste* again and 'tah-dah' ~ not nearly as much frustration. I think they are having problems at this site, allot of people have been losing their posts lately... :( Wishing you luck.
I am so very sorry to hear about your Dear Friend dying of cancer - what is his or her first name? I will be honored to add he or she to my prayers, either way I will do that, but it's always nice to say their name in my prayers. On that note... Lbsbgone? What is your first name (if you don't mind me asking ;) ) - mine is Donna... but I enjoy being called SunnyD ;)
I have been sooo very busy too... but have gotten so much done & it feels so nice!
Joe & I had our friends over yesterday to watch the Super Bowl... what a nice day we had! Especially since our team (The Patriots) WON! :D
Have you ever begun one project to find yourself up to your neck in another... it's like a Domino effect :dizzy: It all began with us buying storage bins on Monday for all my Decorations... Joe had the day off for our dental appointments & we went shopping afterwards. Tuesday I began cleaning things up to store them and then went into another project and into another and I had to get it done so things would be in my hallway or in my living-room... I am still not finished, but gone enough done for the moment to give it a week or two of rest before I begin again. I also had a deadline today to e-mail everyone with the music lists - I am in charge of selecting music for the musicians at our church for each month and I was way behind in getting started. But I did get it finished and even got it done for next month too! So now I am all set till the end of March :D What a relief! :^:
Joe & I also got our taxes done Thursday night too - so I was so brain dead by 9pm. We mailed that off Friday morning - nice to know we'll be getting a bit back this year. Oh... and I had to make a couple cards too... a friend is moving and another is ill. That took me a bit of time to do too... I enjoy embellishing them.
I still haven't paid my bill's this week! :p I usually do that each Thursday, but with so much to get done this week I have neglected *us*. I will squeak in a couple hours today... I have too!
We went out to dinner with our friends Saturday evening to celebrate my 48th birthday together... we always have the best time out with them!! We went to Longhorn steakhouse :T My birthday is actually this Tuesday and my hubby is going to take off that day too :smug: We will probably catch a movie out being it's going to rain and then that evening we are going out to dinner together at our favorite family restaurant... you know the kind of place where everyone knows your name ;)
:sunny: 70's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous!!!!! :sunny:
And here I was gloating over reaching the 50's :^:
Enjoy it! I sure have been...
*~*~*
Well, I really must be getting my day started... I have allot to clean-up from the Super-Bowl party we had here yesterday.

lbsbgone 02-08-2005, 08:10 PM I typed this last night, but I wasn't able to post.
I hope that Tuesday holds many wonderful birthday surprises for you and I hope that you and Joe have a fun time no matter what you do. You are the same age as my sister. She graduated from high school in 1975.
My dear friend who is battling cancer is named Gwen. She is a Christian and is such a blessing to be around. She is ready to see her Savior, whenever she is called heaven bound.
I have to study for my bible study in a few minutes. Bible study group is tomorrow night and I haven't done my homework yet.
I lost weight three weeks in a row, but have been very careless this week in getting my water in and had a few off plan eating days so will probably see a gain on Wednesday when I weigh in. Are you still on your weight loss plateau? They say sometimes just by changing the type of exercise you do that you can lose weight after being on a plateau.
Today, dh will not be home during the day, so I will have to get caught up on some things like laundry, finishing making my coupon holder to take grocery shopping with me. I also have some undone things in the kitchen that need to be tended to.
I prefer to go by lbsbgone as I usually do not use my real name on the larger web-sites, but for prayer sake my real name is Angel.
Have a nice birthday dinner at the restaurant this evening. Well, I'd better get somethings done before bedtime so I will close this letter for now.

*~*~*
 Good Morning Lbsbgone,
I will keep your dear friend, Gwen, in my prayers :^: She is Blessed to have you in her life! How is she doing?
:bravo: for the weight-loss you have had in the last three weeks! Yes, I am on a plateau still... especially after all I had over the weekend into Tuesday... but I will feel better by Saturday. It usually takes me a good three days to detox. I too find it hard to get in all my water, but I am sure giving it a go! It is so very important.
How did your Bible Study go the other night?? Did you get your homework finished? I love the book of James! The book of WISDOM :)
Let me tell you all about my day if I may :D
It was a pretty laid back -NICE- day for Joe & I on Tuesday :) It began with a phone call of birthday wishes from my parents... it's always nice to hear from them :D Then we did some running around from place to place, we went shopping at *Bath & Body Works* (love that shop) where Joe bought me a candle, Body wash & lotion for my birthday... he wanted me to choose which one I wanted because there were so many new scents to choose from when he went to get me something on his own... I enjoyed them all! But the one I chose was *Creme Brulee* ("oh my goodness" yummy!!). There was also *Angel Food Cake* (yummy!), *Lemon Meringue* & *Chocolate Fondue*. These are not desserts ;) Well... I guess they could be, depends on how you look at it  :o  Then we went to a Vitamin Shoppe & Target to do a little shopping, I didn't feel like going to a movie yesterday, just wanted to get out with Joe.
When we got home at around 4:00... Joe's sister, Annie, called me and sang *Happy Birthday* to me (sweet!) and then we chatted for about 40 minutes about our diets... she just got back from a month long vacation and is feeling really plump (she said that, not me ;) ) --- she is a tiny little thing too. Being yesterday was the beginning of Lent we both thought it would be a great beginning to the cleansing process from all the junk 'we' have eaten in the last two to three weeks. I am so glad  I really do need to get back "on program" again before I am out of control! I eat way too many bad foods (nibbles here and there :ink: ) when I am feeling good / healthy and then it all catches up with me. I sure do have a food hangover from Tuesday though - can't seem to shake this headache I have had since Wednesday morning ( "where's the truck that hit me!" ), but it was FUN at the time! I wrapped everything up (all the sweets in my home) and threw them all in the spare-room freezer. Not to be touched till after Easter now... if even then. I am going on a *NO SUGAR* fast for the 6 weeks of Lent and am going to try to eat more fruit and veggies instead, in hopes that it becomes a great habit by then. And drink as much water as I should. I thawed out some shrimp to snack on yesterday (YUM!) & we had fish for dinner. I am looking forward to feeling better again! I'm not sick like before in my gut (yeah :cp: ) just feeling crummy from all the sugars :faint: Our dinner out was great! But am looking forward to cooking again... I always feel better. I went into more detail on the Christian Encouragers Thread about our dinner ;)
I got allot of nice things... ;) The pink sweater in the picture below is from my friends daughter, Lisa, & my friends, Mike & Peggy, got me a really nice black blouse and Joe got me the bath things I mentioned above & a cake, not to mention he took the day off :) My folks got me the Hallmark Card program a few weeks ago (they are always early) & my sister sent me a gift card for Michael's Craft Center & 3 ref. magnets in the shape of kitties to put pictures of my boys into :D It was a very good day :sunny: I do feel *very special* & *spoiled* with my Joe and wish it were this way for all married couples. He says to me often... that I had such a rough start to life - he is going to make sure I have the best middle & ending ;) He has done well by me and I am truly blessed :bubbles:
Here is a picture of me with the cake Joe bought me :D
Isn't the cake pretty? He did good :smug:

lbsbgone 02-10-2005, 10:27 PM Your new pink sweater is very pretty and Joe picked out a lovely cake. I haven't had the time to read more about your dinner on Christian Encouragers.
So glad that you had a fun day. What great scents for candles, body washes and lotions. I miss our last house it had a bath tub. Where we live now just has a small shower stall. I used to take a hot bubble bath, get a cup of herbal tea and read a book or magazine. A true destressor for me. Just soak and read and sometimes put on Praise music.
So good that you have figured out a positive health change for Lent. I don't eat much sugar but occassionally I get chocolate cravings and hot cocoa just doesn't do it for me. I need a piece of chocolate candy that I can sink my teeth into.
I wasn't feeling my best the night of bible study, so did not absorb as much as I may have otherwise. The study is real good though. We could all learn a little something from the book of James.
Gwen is in good spirits. Very inspirational and motivational even though the cancer has gotten the better of her. A dear, dear lady.
Tomorrow morning we are meeting a friend from church for coffee if she feels up to it. She is often ill. We want to get to know one another better. She has such a servant's heart. Her name is Theresa if you would like to pray for her health.
I finished making my coupon folder and used it at the store today. I did good. I came in under budget for the week.
Well, it is almost time to start thinking about dinner. Therefore, I will close this letter for now.

lbsbgone 02-16-2005, 06:29 PM Thank you Sunny D for the Valentine's wishes. Dh and I are just now getting over a cold that we both had for a week. So we haven't celebrated Valentine's yet.
Dh has needed the computer a great deal more as he has taken on extra duties on the computer, so for now keeping up in the "tea for two" is all that I have time on the internet to manage. Please do tell everyone from Christian Encourager's hello from lbsbgone. I do not have the time to keep up with that thread right now.
I hope that all is going well with your world. I have a friend from church who is going to try to exercise with me twice a week. That is more than I am doing now. I have gained 1/4 lb. these last two weeks after three weeks in a row of losses. Gotta turn that around.
Our weather is beautiful and warm. Are you still covered in snow?
Well, take care and I hope that you get over your plataue (sp?) and start losing again. How is the no sugar diet coming along?

Hello Lbsbgone,
I have been on the sofa or in bed the last few days. I did get my office cleaned and I got several cards made for all the February Birthday's & Anniversaries before I got real sick (my bad gut). When I start to spasm in my gut like I do, all I can do is put the heating pad on my tummy to calm it down & rest. I am feeling so much better today and as each day passes.
I do hope that You & your hubby are feeling better... there's so much going around this time of year :grouphug:
How the exercising going with your friend? I wish I had someone to exercise with, but they all work and when they get home they are with their families. I hope it's working out for you :^:
Did you do anything for Valentine's Day together?
 Our Valentine's Day!!
Joe came home with a dozen beautiful yellow roses and a DvD of the movie *The Notebook* (starring James Garner) for my gift. What a Beautiful *Love Story*!!! I love, love, love James Garner!!! I wonder if he's really as caring as he is in his movies?? I enjoyed him in *Ya Ya Sisterhood* too - another great movie (that I got as a gift from Joe)! Have any of you seen the movie *The Notebook*? It's sad, but at the same time leaves you with this "ain't LOVE Beautiful* feeling. I highly recommend the movie to rent or buy... you will watch it again and again!! So, to say the least, Joe & I had a beautiful Valentine's Day together :goodvibes
Our weather has been very strange... this past Tuesday it went up to 60* and today 18* with about 6 inches of snow on the ground. We did have a fairly sunny day today, just very cold. I am so ready for Spring! You?
I am doing okay with staying off sugar, no more headaches... but haven't budged on the scale :( I think I need to be more consistent with my exercise and haven't is all... once I get to walking on a regular basis again - I know I will see it come off again ;)
You Take Care now... and come back when you can... I will let them know on CER's that you are unable to post right now (the next time I post there myself).
Later....

lbsbgone 02-21-2005, 04:55 PM How are you today? I am fine. Catching up on things like laundry because we have had alot of rain lately. 8" of rain since November 2004. The mountains are a beautiful green.
I have a few minutes to post. If the rain ever stops a friend and myself are going to start walking about two days a week.
Today feels like a good day to curl up with some herbal tea and a book. What is your weather like?
Does Joe have today off since it is a holiday? Did you have a nice weekend? Are you still doing good on your no sweets for Lent diet? Did you have withdrawals when you started this? I've been craving sweets more than usual and eating them too. Don't know what the scales will show this week.
Well, I have to go check on the clothes in the dryer. Take care and a friend shared a wonderful verse with me it was Romans 15:13, if I remember correctly.

Hi Lbsbgone, How are you these days? Staying well I pray? :)
Yes, Joe took the day off on Monday - he had to use a vacation day though. Our friends had off also so Joe thought it would be fun to take off too, so we could all spend the day together and that we did. We went to breakfast together; then we went shopping and then caught an afternoon movie (perfect day for that, rainy). We saw the movie *Hitch* with Will Smith... cute movie. Then we all went to an early dinner together. I really paid dearly for the day out at restaurants, that's for sure. My gut cannot handle any of the butter they add to the veggies & meats (even though I asked them to drain it off). I was pretty ill the last couple days, but am much better today. I am totally intolerant of any dairy products or fatty foods. I try to steer clear of it all, but when you go out, it is very difficult. I am reading a book I bought last week titled *Patient, Heal Thyself* hoping it will guide me into a direction that will help me to feel well "all the time" and not just most of the time. He is Christian and believes in eating the foods mentioned in scriptures... God's Garden. I do hope that once I begin to change over I become well enough to do more and feel energy again. I am so tired of feeling tired. Right now I am looking into the foods and vitamins he mentions... they look costly. I'll let you know.
Have you begun your walks with your friend? I sure do with I had someone to walk with... ... It's a beautiful (but cold) sunny day today and it would have been nice to have gone outdoors for a walk. I don't like to go alone, especially in the cold. Maybe I will meet someone during the Spring and Summer when I go out. No one will go into the cold temps right now. The day didn't begin too nice... cold and snowy, but it cleared up and the sun popped out. It's still cold, but the sun makes it much nicer. Tea and a blanket always sounds comfy ;)
I haven't lost any more weigh --- I seem to be stalled right now. Maybe when I change over to the foods that are mentioned in the book I will begin to lose again... I HOPE! :crossed:
We got some sad news this morning... that a dear friend of ours has passed after a long bout with cancer... please keep her hubby, Jim, in your prayers. The funeral service is on Friday and my Joe will be singing and leading the choir for it. So very sad
My hubby just came through the door... he's home early today, gotta be going. You take care now... hope to see you soon.
Luvs,

lbsbgone 02-25-2005, 10:42 AM I types this last evening (Thursday) only it wouldn't go through so I am trying again.
So sorry to hear of you losing a friend to cancer. I'll keep the family of the deceased as well as you and Joe in prayer.
I was also sorry to hear of all of the stomach problems you have been having. I hope that the information in the book that you are reading helps to alleviate your pain in the gut. My dh and I take alot of vitamins too along with our prescription meds. We get them mail order through a company in New York. The prices fit within our budget, but I am sure that there are better quality vitamins to be found elsewhere.
I walked twice this week with my friend. Today about 2-1/2 miles and Tuesday almost 2 miles before the downpour of rain. We haven't scheduled a time to walk next week.
I will taking a trip to see my family in Northern California in March. It will just be a short trip. Fly there on a Wednesday afternoon and fly home on Friday of the same week. I haven't been to see my family in about 5 years. The airline ticket was a surprise gift from a dear friend. Dh will stay home to tend to his dad and our cats.
We are taking our cats for a check-up and vaccinations on Saturday. They are not going to like us very much. They hate getting in the pet carrier, riding in the car and seeing the dr. I do hope that all checks out well with them. I do know that the vet wants to clean their teeth, but for two cats that is kind of expensive, so we will have to save up for it.
With the heavy rains that we are getting and the weight of the lemons on our tree it split the tree in half. Half of the tree fell to the ground. Dh and FIL cleaned it up today. Now we have to rent a dumpster to carry away all of the broken limbs.
Have you seen the movie "Supersize Me?" I've heard that it is real good, but we rarely rent movies. Occassionally we will go to a theatre.
I have been putting on and losing the same 1/4 lb. for three weeks now. Do not know why I am having such sweet cravings lately. Namely chocolate. I have sugar free hot cocoa, but I want something that I can sink my teeth into like a candy bar. I still have a little over 60 lbs. to go to goal.
As far as my health, the last medicine change that the doctor made seems to agree with me. The doctor will make another medicine change on March 2, when I see him again, but I may not start it until I get back from my trip to Northern California, since I never know how my body will react to medicine changes.
Well, dh was taking a little nap and he just woke up, so I am sure that he will need the computer back. He has taken on alot of tasks that require computer use and we share the computer, so I have to use the computer at moments like this when he is napping.
My condolences go out to you again and you and your dear friends family will be in my prayers.

SunnyD57 02-25-2005, 11:09 AM *A DIETER'S http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/Smilies/050103lv_prv.gif PRAYER*
Lord, My soul is ripped with riot
incited by my wicked diet.
"We Are What We Eat," said a wise old man!
and, Lord, if that's true, I'm a garbage can.
I want to rise on Judgment Day, that's plain!
but at my present weight, I'll need a crane.
So grant me strength, that I may not fall
into the clutches of cholesterol.
May my flesh with carrot-curls be dated,
that my soul may be poly unsaturated
And show me the light, that I may bear witness
to the President's Council on Physical Fitness.
And at oleomargarine I'll never mutter,
for the road to Hell is spread with butter.
And cream is cursed; and cake is awful;
and Satan is hiding in every waffle.
Mephistopheles lurks in provolone;
the Devil is in each slice of baloney,
Beelzebub is a chocolate drop,
and Lucifer is a lollipop.
Give me this day my daily slice
but, cut it thin and toast it twice.
I beg upon my dimpled knees,
deliver me from jujubes.
And when my days of trial are done,
and my war with malted milk is won,
Let me stand with Heavenly throng,
In a shining robe--size 30 long.
I can do it Lord, If You'll show to me,
the virtues of lettuce and celery.
If You'll teach me the evil of mayonnaise,
of pasta a la Milannaise
potatoes a la Lyonnaise
and crisp-fried chicken from the South.
Lord, if you love me, shut my mouth.
*~*~*
I saw this this morning and thought you
would enjoy the chuckle too

Hi Lbsbgone  it's good to see you... sorry that you are still having problems with posting. I do too sometimes, but haven't lately.
Yes, today is Sherry's funeral at 1:00... my hubby is singing and directing the music for it. I am so glad that the sun is shinning today - it suits her! She was such a beautiful & talented lady... we'll surely miss her.
That trip sounds wonderful! Nice little break in the week :) A Surprise gift? Did you just have a birthday?? When IS your birthday, Lbsbgone?
I sure do hope that it stops raining for you all soon... you guys are sure getting hit hard this year! I have seen allot of homes destroyed on the weather channel lately. Oh my gosh... the rain has split your lemon tree???!!! How sad! I will say a prayer for you that nothing more happens to you from the rains. And that they will subside soon. The weather sure has been strange these days - all over the U.S.! Are they feeling the rain where your family lives? 5 years since you last visited them, sounds like me. I have family in the dessert and it's been about that long since I have been there too. I hope you have a wonderful visit with them! I will say a special *Prayer* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/Smilies/050103lv_prv.gif for you that all goes well with your flights and with your visit :) When in March?
Nope... haven't seen that movie *Supersize Me*... did you see it yet? Joe & I don't go out to movies that often either... that's why we had such a nice time going with our friends on Monday... a treat. We also rent allot (only $1.99 to rent).
I wish I could help you when it comes to chocolate craving... but I crave it all the time too. I keep Dove Darks in the house for my cravings. That's one thing I don't want to give up all together, maybe for a little bit to get better, but not for always. I will give up everything else, but not my Dove Darks :nono: :)
Don't you hate to take the animals out of the home for *Vets* day!!?? I think I hate it as much as they do!! It really upsets them, doesn't it? I go in the Fall for my boys... yeah, I had my Domino's teeth cleaned two years ago (he's the 9 yr old) and it costs me $325.00. But the vet said this last Fall that his teeth still looked pretty good :D The other two kitties are still very young and have great looking teeth (yeah!)
Diet & Exercise: I have my Elliptical and my T-Mill here as well as my Walking DvD's (Walking Away the Pounds), so all I have to do is get to feeling well again and just use them. Everytime I go to use the machines at first I feel great; then the spasms begin again... so I really must take care of my insides before I can concentrate on the exercise. And from what I have read in my book - the diet he puts you on to add all the good enzymes into your intestines again will help you to drop weight too :D Because then the body will function as it should. According to Jorden S. Rubin (the writer of *The Maker's Diet* too) most people with my health problem DO have a very difficult time losing weight (that made me feel validated!) So my next step is to get to the *Vitamin Shoppe* and to this place called *The Mustard Seed* and go by my foods and supplements... hopefully tonight & tomorrow I will go. I am also going to check and see if I can get any of the books from Kathleen Des Maisons & use her info too --- it really sounds like they are in agreement of what to do. Jorden doesn't believe in using Splenda, he says to use unfiltered honey... but I still use it, I just use less of it now. He said the process used is very unhealthy for the gut :o I too hope it all works out for me... I am sure it's going to cost me lots to buy what I need, but it's all worth it if I can get to feeling better and leading a normal life again.
What do you take meds for, Lbsbgone? Is it serious?? I pray not! I hope you get only "Good News" when you go to the Dr. on March 2nd. Keep me informed, okay ;)
You take care now...
& just write when you can, I understand :goodvibes

lbsbgone 02-27-2005, 01:13 PM I just have a minute before church. No, it's not my birthday, my friend just knew that I wanted to see my family and when she asked if I had bought my ticket yet, I said no I will probably have to wait until fall, so since I have surprised her with little things, she did this for me.
I'll pray that these foods and vitamins that you will be buying will be worth the investment in terms of making you feel better.
I leave on March 9 and come home on March 11. A short trip, but better than none at all.
Our cats did good at the vets. One may need a teeth cleaning in 6 months. The other one she said that her teeth look fine. My cat is crawling all over me as I type and I am wearing black and the cat is mainly white. I'll definitely need the lint roller before church.
Well, gotta go for now. Take care and I've prayed for you.

lbsbgone 03-02-2005, 09:45 PM Hello Sunny D., Just had to share with you that I lost 2-3/4 lbs. this week. That's my best loss in quite awhile.
How are you feeling? Have you bought the special vitamins and foods yet that the book you are reading recommends?
Tomorrow if my friend feels okay we will exercise. She had to cancel yesterday's exercise session because she wasn't feeling well.
I haven't started doing anything for my trip yet, but it is a week away and then only a short stay, so I shouldn't need too much preparation.
Our days are warm and sunny again.
Dh was exposed to someone with a cold today, so I am hoping that he doesn't get the cold nor pass it on to me. That is just what we need before this trip.
Gotta go for now. Have a good mid-week.

Good Morning Lbsbgone!
:dancer: :cp: :bravo: :cp: :dancer:
How wonderful!
I am so very happy for you in losing the 2 & 3/4 lbs!
You are doing wonderfully!!! Keep up the great work!
Me... I was very ill there, Lbsbgone... I worried myself! But since I began the program today (the beginning of day #5 for me) I am doing much better. The program is not an easy one to do at all, nevermind the $$ you have to spend in food and supplements! I'm still not well, but I didn't expect to get better over night... I have been ill for way too long and according to this book I have it could take up to 3 months for the intestine to rebuild and heal. I just have to stay with the program. Maybe I will lose some more weight too! :flow1:
I WISH we had some weather like yours! But we live in Ohio and to top it off, we live in the snow-belt of Ohio! We got a bit over 18" of snow in the last two days and it's now only 8* here this morning! Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, is all I havta say! At least the sun is shinning :D
So... you leave in a week! Cool! I never pack till the day before we leave anywhere either ;) I like to have all my laundry caught up before I go anywhere... so all my favorite clothes come with me :) It'll be easier to do with just you going... bet you cannot wait! I am so happy for you and cannot wait to hear all about the fun you had :flow2: I'll say a prayer that you don't catch your hubby's cold! May I suggest you go get some *Airborne* at your local drug store and begin to take it... Oh, and take it before you go on the plane too (follow the directions on the label)! So you won't get sick from the plane and others who traveled ill... it really works!! I have used it and have two containers of it in my closet for whenever I need it again.
I'm so glad to hear that your kitties did so well at the vets :cp:
Well, I must get my day started and get caught up with the laundry that I never did yesterday! And I have bill's to pay today too :o Yuck :p

lbsbgone 03-03-2005, 12:11 PM I'll keep praying for you that you are on your way to restored health with this new program. Sorry to hear of how ill you have been and how that even scared you.
Do you think that the grocery store would have the product that you speak about? Airborne, I think that you called it? I am going grocery shopping this weekend.
Yes, I too have some bills to write out and mail. Not our favorite job is it?
I'm hoping that my friend feels up to walking today. We had to miss walking on Tuesday because she was ill.
As you start restoring your health you should be able to lose some more weight.
I wish that I could send some of our weather your way. How many more months of cold and snow do you have left this year? Or does it widely vary from year to year?
Our heat last year started in March. I am hoping that it at least waits until May this year.
Keeping you and your health in prayer. So you are on day 5 of your program?
I'm sure that Joe is very supportive of you and this change that you are making. Well, gotta go for now. Take care!

Hi Lbsbgone,
Thank you so much... I am doing so well today, I only pray it continues :smug:
The grocery store might have the *Airborne* but I am not sure... all I can tell you is to give it a try & if it's not there go to the drug store. It's hard to come by here with all the colds coming on with our weather and all. So that's why I got two when it come in again.
I use to like doing bill's (crunching numbers & such), but lately haven't liked doing them, but it's something I took on when we got married and have done it for almost 30 years ;) I started to get them done this morning, but will have to finish tonight --- I got busy sorting through paperwork & magazines that have been piling up on me. Joe has a practice at our church tonight with the choir, so I'll finish up tonight while I watch my favorite shows.
I hope your friend feels better... I'm sorry to hear she isn't doing well. Hope you get in your walk ;) I wish you could send some of your weather our way too :sunny: We still have at least 4 - 6 weeks of this kind of unpredictable weather. I am so anxious for sunshine & warmth, I love working in my gardens.
Yes, Joe is very supportive of me... he just picked up a couple more bottles of supplements I needed to keep going. I don't know what I'd do if I were all alone in this... it's important to me to have that support. He calls me a couple times a day to ask how I am doing, sweet. He said he isn't worrying, he just wants me to know that he is thinking of me :) God Bless his heart!
You take care too... don't you get sick now :bubbles:

lbsbgone 03-07-2005, 06:23 PM Well, I have been busy packing today. I don't leave until Wednesday, but am anxious to be caught up with everything. I don't want to wait for luggage pick-up, so I stuffed everything in a duffell bag. Hopefully, it won't be too wrinkled. I still have a few things to fit in like make-up, toothbrush...
I am doing laundry today and tomorrow too. I hope to come home to not too much work. The guys will probably eat out at restaurants while I am gone so, I won't have a load of dishes waiting for me.
How are you feeling? I'm praying that this food and supplement plan works miracles for you.
Well, gotta go and check the laundry. I'll write to you when I get back.
Have a great week!

lbsbgone 03-12-2005, 07:02 PM Hello Sunny D.! How are you feeling? Better, I hope with each new day. I am home safe and sound from my trip. It was great to see my family. I got to see everyone except for one niece (who lives out of state) and a nephew who was busy with college classes.
Both of my sister's look great. They are prettier and thinner than me. I am the youngest, but look older than them. Probably due to the hot summers and falls that we have. They are not nice to the skin.
We had alot of fun in a little bit of time. It was so worth it.
I hope that you have had a good end of the week. Lots awaits me, like mounds of laundry and grocery shopping. I am resting today though.
Take care!

I am so glad to see you back Lbsbgone! :flow1:
You sound like you had a nice trip... you gotta tell me all about the fun parts ;) I can imagine you have allot to catch up with... it's the worse part about a trip - catching up with yourself and chores :^: Come back as soon as you can and tell me more :)
Thank you so much for asking about me! So far, everyday has been a better, healthier day :flow1: I am still not up-to-par yet, but so well on my way :D I am on Day 15 of the program and I am really beginning to see some good results... my skin is softer and not so dry, my hair looks shinier, I feel like I can "think clearer" during the day - not feeling so exhausted through my day. I am definitely getting more done in my day now :D I am excited! This is working for me :) All the stuff I had to go through in the beginning has now been well worthwhile :goodvibes
Joe & I had such a nice weekend... we went out to breakfast with Mike & Peggy (our best buds) on Saturday morning (I ate before we left & just had my tea there); then we all went grocery shopping. We got home at noon-ish and I had to type up some things for Joe's Choir (Easter Celebration). then at around 4:30pm we also went out to dinner :hun: with our pals (our monthly dine out together :) ) and it was great, because we found an Italian restaurant that is willing to work with my food program... the chef actually came out and spoke with me! I can't believe I ate out and didn't get sick that night or the next day :D We'll be going back there again sometime soon! I had Chicken Marsala - but he broiled the chicken breast (no seasoning, he let me do that) & served it with the Marsala Wine Sauce & mushrooms on the side (no butter, he used very little olive oil instead) & steamed veggies (no butter). All served with a veggie salad (no cheese) and the oil & vinegar on the side - then I can control how much Oil is ON my salad :D Oh and one slice of their Italian bread (no butter)... too yummy to turn away :T
Sunday we went to church and then came home and just enjoyed a quiet day together reading the Sunday paper and catching up with some taped shows I just couldn't stay awake for, but didn't want to miss. It is gonna be very busy for us (mostly JOE) the next two weeks with Palm Sunday and Easter just around the bend. Joe has meetings & practices all this week - I'll be going to one of the practices on Tuesday (for our group), but most of my work will be typing & making photo copies of what Joe needs for his Choir. It's always so hectic two weeks before the holiday's (Easter and Christmas mostly). But... ohhhhh soooooo Beautiful when it all comes together.
Today I had some e-mails to catch up with (to my family) and then I had to begin my cleaning & laundry... I'll get that finished tomorrow, I am plumb tuckered out right now. Lately, anytime between 8 and 9:30 is a struggle to stay awake! :tired:
Soooo, I am going to call it a night...
I think I wrote a book! :ziplip:

lbsbgone 03-16-2005, 05:54 PM The night that I got there, all of the family met and we ate at Red Lobster. I adore seafood, but we have no Red Lobsters in our area. My sister and I went to the mall. She is going to a wedding next month and wants to find a new dress to wear as she has been doing Weight Watcher's since September 2004 and has went from a size 14 to a size 10. She looks wonderful.
The next day (my only full day there) we met my oldest sister at Starbuck's and visited, then went back to her work and visited with her husband. They are self employed. Then my middle sister and her daughter and 7 year old grandaughter and I headed to the wharf where we souvenier shopped and ate and walked a nice scenic route and visited. Then we went to the college dorms to visit my nephew who was sick with a cold. We then went back to my sister's house and the next morning early, I got on the plane and came home.
It was good to see everyone. I moved away from my family when I was 18 years old and to drive is a 9 hour drive or more. The airport that I flew out of was over an hour away, so we rented a car, since our car may not have been up to that trip. We didn't want to take any chances of not getting to the airport.
So glad that you had a good time with your friends and to meet with the chef at the restaurant and to have him cook the meal specially to your dietary restrictions is awesome.
We are having baptizm's after our Easter service. I'm sure that the choir will sing some beautiful songs too.
Your service sounds like it will be spectacular. Glad to hear that you feel better with each new day.
Gotta go for now.

 Hi Lbsbgone,
I loved hearing about your trip! I am sorry that I haven't been around lately, but it's a very busy time of year for Joe & I... almost as busy as Christmas is! So just give me a couple days to get my cards made and pkgs. mailed and I will be back to post to you, okay.
I am doing real well... health-wise.
And getting in my walking every morning too :smug:
Till I return... hope you are well!

Good Friday Morning!
I am so sorry that I have been away so long, it's been so very busy for us. Just this week on Monday & Tuesday I worked on a poster that the church needed and Easter Cards (it takes me about 45 min - an hour to do one card and I did 7 & the poster took a whole day) for my family so I could send off their Easter basket pkgs I made them ~ that was fun. I just put together small boxes with Easter grass, goodies and games and such... nothing special - just want them to know that I am thinking of them. Wednesday I spent most of the day catching up with some cleaning and all the shows I have been taping after 10pm. and didn't want to miss. And Thursday (yesterday) I spent the morning paying bill's, replying to e-mails and typing up paperwork for Joe and making copies for his choir. And so far today (Good Friday) I have been right here on the computer - catching up with my e-mails and with posting... I cannot believe that I am so far behind in just a few short days :dizzy: Saturday I will be cooking for Easter Sunday and Joe & I will coloring some eggs - we always color at least a dozen eggs together :D So much fun!!
In the evenings... we had a Choir practice for Easter on Tuesday @ 7pm - a Healing Service to sing for on Wednesday @ 7pm. And then we had a Choir practice on Thursday @ 7pm and then we have the Stations (re-enactment in readings), Friday (tonight) @ 8pm. Then we'll be going into the Easter weekend... Saturday night Joe has an Easter Service to do with the choir and then we have the Easter Sunday Services. Yup, quite a busy week!
Not to mention that I have been walking on my T-Mill every morning 5 days a week ~ faithfully :D I put in 7 miles last week and so far this week a little over 8 miles. I hope to increase the miles a bit each week to build up... I haven't lost any more weight, but have maintained what I have lost already. Moreover wt-loss... I have been feeling WELL :D and haven't had an attack yet since I began this program  That is my Easter Miracle - my health! :df:
Once we are home on Easter Sunday ~ Joe and I are enjoying Easter dinner here (at our own home this year) I cooking all day Saturday so I'll have less to do on Sunday... Annie (Joe's sister) invited us over, but both of us really wanted to be home this year. I am making Lamb and Lentil Soup and Stuffed Tomatoes with Pecan Pie for dessert (a special treat just for Easter). It will be a relaxing day for Joe after all he had to do over the week into the weekend.
*~*~*
How are you doing Lbsbgone? Soooo... .... What are you planning for Easter? What's for dinner? ;) Are you going anywhere or staying home?
Getting in your walking still? Staying well? :crossed:
It sure does sound like you had a great time with your family... I bet that you miss them allot during the holiday's huh. Especially now that you were just all together. Me too... I miss sharing the holiday's with my family. I have Joe's family here and they try, but it's not quite the same, you know.

lbsbgone 03-25-2005, 05:53 PM Hello Sunny D! Wow, you and Joe sound awfully busy. I'm impressed that in spite of all of the busyness you are still finding the time to exercise and continue your eating plan. So glad that you are feeling better too.
I haven't been exercising lately. My exercise partner is in the hospital having surgery in 1/2 hour from now. Doctor's orders she has been unable to exercise with me for about the last three weeks. I need to get motivated to exercise on my own. We will visit my friend tonight after dinner.
Dh and I have had our up and down days as far as health. But nothing compared to Christ's pain for us on the cross, so who am I to complain.
We are going to morning Easter Services, then our church is having a baptizmal service following the worship service. My dh will take the pictures for the church of the baptism's. Then in the later afternoon we are going over to my sister-in-laws house for dinner. She lives in the same town as us, so it will be a 10 minute drive or so. I do not know what she is serving. I called her house and her husband answered the phone. He said that SIL was not home at the moment, I asked if I could bring a dish for dinner and he said no that they had it all covered, but if there were any changes in plans he would have SIL call me. So far no call.
I started my weight loss plan the end of October and so far I weigh the least amount that I have weighed since then. However, since my weight has went up and down, I really have not lost alot of weight. My sister is following a weight loss plan and started a month before me and she has went from a size 14 to a size 10. She looks great! Today in the mail she sent me some information about her plan that I am anxious to read and follow.
Yes, I do miss my family very much. Especially at holidays, but dh's family is very kind to me.
Thanks for writing. May your Easter be blessed as we remember what Christ did for us on the cross and that He is risen indeed.

:sunny: Good Monday Morning my Friend!
Yes! He has Risen and given us a NEW DAY :sunny:
I am sorry I wasn't on sooner to know of your DF's surgery the other day - I do hope that all went well for her! :^:
Lbsbgone, you should really think of doing some sort of exercise on your own when you don't have your DF with you... I know it's not easy, but you would feel so much better if you went for a walk - maybe if you played music while you walked, that would help. I know that when I walk in the mornings to music it makes all the difference in the world! I seem to get a better workout :D I hope that with this new beginning (all NEW beginnings after Easter ya know :smug: ), you will find some time to go out even if it's for 15 minutes ;) I am encouraging you to :goodvibes
So did you have a lovely Easter Sunday?!?
How did the Baptisms go? Beautiful, aren't they!
Joe & I sure had a nice day!! We went to church @ 7:30am and got home at around 11ish. Then we had a brunch together. Then we just chilled out... Joe took a much needed nap with his pal (Zeppe) and I had a chance to catch up with some magazines that I have saved and wanted to read through. Then... after Joe woke up, we decided to go for a drive just to venture out for about 40 min. and took a short walk in the park - it was still that damp cold, so we didn't stay. Then we came home and I put together our Easter meal that I prepared the day before: the Lentil Soup, the Marinated Lamb Chops (done on the grill), and the Rice, Basil & Parmesan-Cheese Stuffed Tomatoes... it all came out so good! :T Joe was like... "Would you make this again? Before next Easter" It always thrills me me he enjoys a meal I have taken so much time to cook up. Then we watched a movie I bought at Wal-Mart for $5.00 titled, *Music From Another Room* with Jude Law... it was a nice romance story... Joe liked it too :) I do have some pictures that I will share with you all later of our decorations and our dinner :D
Joe's music program went Beautifully too! He was so pleased with the choir and the celebration was just beautiful! I was beaming... I am so proud of him and what he can do! People just love him! What a wonderful way to begin the day of Christ's Resurrection :sunny:
Well... it's time for me to get on the T-Mill this morning (I'm late) even though I'd rather not :p I must burn some calories off from the goodies I enjoyed yesterday :o Joe bought me a few Dark Chocolate Eggs (you will see them in my pictures). I did have one (they are big), but I will enjoy the rest in smaller bits. He said he wanted to have something for Easter in our candy dishes... right... Oh, we also colored a dozed eggs together yesterday afternoon --- FUN!!!
*Have a Wonderful Monday*

lbsbgone 03-28-2005, 11:28 AM Hello Sunny D. thank you for your letter.
Hello and how are you today? My back and shoulder are much better, but today I woke up with a horrific headache. As soon as I get some food in my stomach, I will take an Advil and see if it helps.
Our worship service was awesome. There were two decisions for Christ and a baptism.
Yes, the Lord is rejoicing at the decisions for Christ and the baptism's. One baptism was of a man who has muscular dystrophy and is confined to a wheel chair. Obviously, he couldn't get into the baptizmal pool, so they took a bucket of water and poured it over his head as he sat in his wheelchair. I thought that there were 7 baptism's but since my dh photographed it, he said that there were 9 people. One was our Pastor's 11 year old daughter. That was special that he got to baptize his daughter. She is a sweetheart and so knowledgeable about the bible. They have about a one hour class each day on the bible in their homeschooling cirriculum.
Our church is having a one day class called something like"walk through the old testament" that my dh and I are taking then they have a class for the whole bible that is a weekly evening class. We will be taking that too. Which means I will have small group bible studies now on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. I'll be busy.
I'm sure that everyone enjoyed the wonderful music on Easter Sunday that Joe put together for the choir.
So glad that your dinner turned out nice too. Always nice to have hubbies compliment us on a meal that we have worked hard to prepare.
My dear friend is still in the hospital. She will probably be there another week.
Yes, I must muster up the energy to walk on my own now that she is unable to.
It sounds like you had a nice relaxing day with Joe. Well take care and do not worry too much about the chocolate eggs that you ate. You are doing so well.

Good Afternoon Lbsbgone
Where does the time go??? Can you believe it's already April! :o We have had some awesome weather the last few days --- it has actually gotten over 60* Today it's a bit cooler, but the sun is out and I'm loving it.
How have you been lately? Did that headache go away?? I bet it was caused from your neck and shoulder being out. How's your dear friend doing? Is she home from the hospital yet?
Your worship service sounded beautiful! I am so glad all went well for you and that you had such a lovely day. It went by way too fast for us!
Me... I have been doing great! Still feeling well after a month on the program and have been getting in about 7 miles a week (on the T-Mill) the last two weeks :D
How are the Bible Studies going? Do you have a nice group of people to study with? People that allow you to speak - there's nothing worse then when you get someone who takes over the group and is not the leader, if you know what I mean. What size group do you have? Smaller the better, don't you think so. We have a couples group going, but we can only meet once a month right now because they are young couples with small children to care for. They don't bring their children to the study, but are limited on time.
Any plans for the weekend? Joe & I will be meeting our friends for breakfast out (I eat before I go there, cuz of my diet) and then we'll all go grocery shopping together. Makes it fun :) Then Joe & I will head out to the wholesale club... I need some paper products. Don't know what we'll do on Sunday after church yet.
My Joe got a NEW 2005 Ford Van - white - fully loaded... from the company he works for --- he is such a happy person! And so am I... I feel so much better knowing he's driving a safer vehicle for work. The old one has 180 thousand miles on it and this one has all of 200 miles on it :smug: He has really needed a new van for a long time, the old one was always in the garage!
Here are some pictures of him next to it for you:

*~*~*
We lost our electric for 16 hours and had no sleep at all Saturday night (time change was rough on us both!) & it got so cold! We dug out our kerosine heater and lit that and it brought the temps in here up to 63* and held steady... thank goodness. And we have a gas stove, so no problems there - I was still able to cook meals, just lit the burners with a match instead. And we had our radio...
Joe had to be at church by 8:00 to direct (thank goodness for 4-wheel-drive!) and I couldn't leave the house with the heater lit, so I decided to go shovel snow for him, so he could get back into the driveway. I was outside for all of 10 minutes when my left foot sunk into the very wet and heavy snow and twisted! I shoved snow into my shoe & finished the job - took me about an hour. I didn't think it was all that bad of a sprain... well, guess what!?! I am wearing an air-cast for 10 days! It was bad! I was crawling on the floor last night... so off to the Dr's I went. It felt really bad last night, but it doesn't feel too bad this morning, wearing the air-cast. I even got in my exercise this morning - I just used the Elliptical instead of the T-Mill --- less stress on my feet.
Whew! :faint: Am I glad that this weekend is over!! I pray that the snow storms will be too! Today we have a clear, sunny, blue sky day! Beautiful!! :sunny:
Okay... I am going to go grab a bite to eat...
I hope that this finds you doing well!

lbsbgone 04-04-2005, 10:40 AM Hello and I, too can hardly believe that it is already April. Please tell Joe that he takes a nice picture and the new van is awesome.
Well, our cat adjusted to the time change real well, unlike us humans. She woke us up at a little after 5:00 a.m. which was really 4:00 a.m. before the time change, so I am writing this letter on less sleep than normal and no caffeine yet, so hope that it makes sense to you.
Yes, my friend is out of the hospital now. She was even at church yesterday. However, I do not think that she will be up to walking anytime soon. I will take your advice and try and motivate myself to exercise on my own.
I started WW yesterday at home with the things that my sister provided for me. I get 25 points a day. So far, so good. I am doing the flex plan and not the core plan.
So glad that you are feeling so well these days since starting that new food program.
Our bible studies are fun. The one that dh and I attend no one seems to take over the show. The ladies group that I attend there are a few who seem to take over, but that's okay they really want to participate. The classes are held in homes so I would say that we have no more than 9 or 10 people per group. Soon we will be starting a complete study of the bible in a small group that will last longer than a year to complete. But, oh! I should learn so much. I am really excited.
Well, my cat is helping me type, as she fans her tail across the keys, so I think that I will close this letter for now. I may write more once my cat let's me alone at the computer and I wake up and have had some caffeine.
Take care!

Hi Lbsbgone... I didn't realize that it's been a few days since I last wrote to you. It's so good to hear from you. I will tell Joe ;)
Time change --- Our cats OVERSLEPT... strange for them. Their kitty-clocks always seem to adjust, but not this time  It was very nice!!! My Zeppe wakes me up every morning between 3 and 4 am, but now... after we changed the time he wakes me up around 5:30 and that's when I usually get up --- so it's nice!! :smug:
Oh good... I am glad to hear that your dear friend is doing well enough to be getting back into life again. I pray she continues to do well.
Have you begun walking on your own yet?
I have been getting in anywhere's between 2 - 3 miles a day this week :) Walking 5 days a week with weekends free of scheduled exercise... gotta rest sometime ;) I am so happy that my ankle is healing so nicely. And our weather has finally cleared up enough for me to be able to go outdoors next week :cp: All the snow has melted and we had temps in the high 70's on Monday and Tuesday. It has cooled down since Wednesday, but it's still sunny, so I won't complain :sunny: I haven't lost any more weight, but I am hanging in there... gonna keep on truckin' :jig: This body has gotta give way someday :crossed: Did you see those SNOW pics I posted :o I hope we don't see that again now till next winter!!
Happy to hear that you have such a good study group... that makes all the difference in the world. How is that going? Learning allot :)
So what have you been up to all week??? Me... just been doing household chores and some Spring cleaning --- detailed cleaning --- just started... so I have allot to do :o I'm trying to get rid of things I don't really use anymore... and that's hard to do! I am very sentimental and hate to see things people gave me go. So when I am in the mood to purge that when I Spring clean :D
*~*~*
Well, I must get off here and get these bill's paid ---
the ones that I have been looking away from since yesterday :dizzy:
and my dryer just stopped, so it's time to go fold and hang clothes.
Have a great weekend :flow1:
Later...

lbsbgone 04-08-2005, 06:41 PM I didn't see your snow pictures and hurt foot post until today Friday 04/08/05. Please forgive me for not responding, I didn't know that it was there. Boy, that looks and sounds like a nightmare. So glad that your foot is healing.
Earlier in the week, I walked 2 miles then yesterday I walked all up and down the aisles of Sam's Club. We are getting FIL a locking mailbox for his birthday next month. He says that he really wants one, which means that I will have to walk all of our outgoing mail to the U.S.P.S. blue mail boxes or the postal annex store so should start to get lots of exercise.
Dh has been sick for two days now with a head cold, cough, maybe viral flu, so have been caring for him.
We are helping a friend plan a birthday party with over 100 guests for next Saturday. She is feeling overwhelmed so we have stepped into help. I was writing down food prices... at Sam's so that she can see which foods fit into her budget and then on Saturday morning I will go and buy the food. The party is in the afternoon.
Tomorrow, I am going to a 5-1/2 hour bible study on the old testament. I should learn lots.
Well, so glad that your weather has warmed up. We have been running our air conditioner for over a week now. Temps in the 90's.
Gotta go for now. Take care and heal that foot.

lbsbgone 04-20-2005, 10:08 AM I hope that you saw my apology in my previous letter dated April 8th. If not, please read it.
How are you feeling these days? Any more snow storms?
Our weather has been in the 80's and 90's. A little windy last night.
Please pray for my shoulder pain. It is from an old injury and has kept me up since 4:00 a.m. with the pain.
Thanks!
Doing 3 bible studies a week and lots of homework in one class as we read the entire bible in 30 weeks.
Well dh needs the computer now. Take care.

Good Morning Lbsgone...
Yes! I did read it, and that's okay really!!!!! It's my bad! I owed you a letter :sorry: I just have spread myself a little thin these days :o So it's my fault... I should have posted in reply and neglected to - I'm sorry.
No more snow :sssh: We have had some Beautiful weather here the past 12 days :cp: It actually went up to 84* yesterday. But today is much cooler and it's suppose to be back into the 50's and 60's for the next few days with rain. I saw that you were getting some HOT :sunny: temps there in the desert! Whew :stress:
It looks like another beautiful day today here... but I think the rain :rain: will be coming soon, as I am watching the skies get darker as I write this. That's okay... we need it and as least it held off long enough for me to get in my walk this morning of 3.25 miles :D With a new total of 33.25 for April. :sunny: Are you still walking?? I go in the early morning (leave at 5am) with my headset of music :D It sure passes quickly with the music.
Sounds like those bible studies are keeping you really busy!!! 3 studies... that's allot! How are you doing with it, able to keep up?
You mentioned on the CER's that a friend had passed on... it wasn't the friend that just had surgery, was it :( Your walking buddy?
Again, I am so sorry for your loss no matter whom it was :grouphug:
Take Care of yourself now... don't work too hard ;)

Those 3 bible studies are keeping me hopping. The most intense one we have to read the whole book of Exodus before Monday evening. Whew!!!
It's really warming up here. Summer is on it's way. What is your weather like?
How are you feeling? Praying for good health for you.
Well, it's time to get some lunch. Dh has his church work going on the computer so I get the computer when he gets fatigued for a few minutes at a time.
Take care!

lbsbgone 05-11-2005, 01:29 PM Thank you for your letter. I can appreciate how busy you have been. I, too may be a little quiet for about two weeks as I have a shoulder injury that makes typing very painful. I am on an anti-immflamatory/pain reducer pill for two weeks at which time they will decided whether to give me injections into the joint. OUCH!!! Not looking forward to it, but the pain is horrible too.
Take care and if you don't hear from me for a couple of weeks it will be because I cannot type without pain.

Lbsbgone, How did you ever hurt your shoulder!!!??? I am so sorry to hear that!! Is everything okay??? I will keep you in my *PRAYERS* Angel!!! I wish I could do something to help!! :grouphug:
So much has happened since I last wrote to you! We had another HUGE snow storm hit us and we almost lost our crabapple tree next to our home :( Joe & I had to go out and tape it all up and bind it - and everytime the winds get high I say a prayer that it will hold ;) We also lost a few shrubs here --- all from the weight of the snow! You should have seen the damaged tree's here in NE, Ohio after that hit --- terrible! Because so many trees were budding the snow clung to them and snapped branches right and left!! Most have recovered and are in full bloom now, but we lost all the buds on our tree... I am counting my blessings... it really could have been worse. We got 17" of snow in that storm.
Lately I have been busy with household chores & projects, but before Joe had a bunch of work for me to get done for his 30+ choir members... slowing down now, thank the Lord.
We are actually getting some warmer temps here... finally! You probably are looking for some cooler temps, but this feels wonderful to us!! And my kitties have been driving me nuts wanting to go outdoors - and they are not outdoor cats.... awe Spring!
That's okay if you cannot write right now... just know that I will be here when you can come back, okay.
*Hugs and Prayers for you*

*~*~*~*~*~*~*
lbsbgone 05-12-2005, 10:34 AM About 11 years ago, I injured my shoulder in a bicycling accident and it has bothered me ever since but not to this degree. They took x-rays, and then I fell in the parking lot of the medical center. I should have reported the fall, so that maybe they could take another set of x-rays because I know that my hmo insurance will not cover duplicate x-rays in one day. The dr. says that I have bursitis. The pain/anti-inflammatory pills that he gave me do not work very well except in showing a huge weight gain and my hands are so swollen that I cannot get my rings off. I'm on high doses of Naprosin.
Sorry to hear of the snow and all of the damage to your yard and trees and shrubs. Hopefully for you that is the last of the snow.
It's warming up here. Running the air conditioner each day.
I may have to have a series of injections in my shoulder. Will find that out on the 23rd (Monday) of this month. I did alot of lifting of a down syndrome 6 year old and also some exercise video's and that is when the pain became so intense.
Well that is all the typing that my shoulder can stand. Take care and thanks for your prayers.

lbsbgone 05-23-2005, 06:56 PM I went to the dr. today, he is referring me to an orthopedic specialist seems that I have alot of calcium build-up on my shoulder bone and a cortisone injection will just make it worse.
So how are you doing? Still hard to type and to write.
Yesterday was 114 degrees here. Sweltering. We have a window A/C that we have to turn off at bedtime because we cannot run it 24/7. I often wake in the middle of the night so hot even though we have two ceiling fans over the bedroom area.
Hopefully it will cool down as dh has to do some car repairs starting Thursday. So gotta get all of my errands ran by then. Dh is my driver as I cannot drive with my shoulder the way that it is.
Look forward to hearing from you.
