A Servant's Prayer

Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways...
Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an
honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered
by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have
called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect
heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors
I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the
roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything
that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of
your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.

To love as you love...
To serve as you serve...
To heal as you heal...
To forgive as you forgive...
always mindful of my nothingness while doing
great and marvelous things in you name and for
you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

Hope nobody minds but with our dear Sunny on vacation, thought it was time to start a new thread, whew, i'm sure i didn't do it as well as her, it's confusing (to me :o )...

Having my :coffee: at work. Then after work i'm going to a craft fair at my mom's old church, then it's home for a serious nap and then i'm going to tornado my house and get stuff done. I plan to upload some pics for you all too. And maybe if i can i'll tell you all the story.....

Thanksgiving will be here soon, we may have a dusting of snow too. So i was wondering if you'd all share what your weakness is with the Holiday dinner, what you struggle with......and what if any ideas you have to make this meal enjoyable. For instance for me, i struggle with the rolls, you know, those little squarish ones that come 12 in a pack and you basically warm them in the oven. I could very much overindulge with them, so i allow myself to have 2 and don't feel guilty about it. And i also like the pumpkin pie, but i'll eat the pumpkin and leave the crust, or i'll cut a ridiculously little sliver and eat it all, then i don't feel deprived, but truly i don't need the regular size piece. So what's your plan? Also, water instead of alcohol or soda helps me, lots of water.

Hey guys, i just noticed this feature on 3fc that i think is new, the chat feature. It's cool you can go there and chat with anyone else who signs in. An idea........how about if some day we pick a time and all try to log on and then we can chat directly there? I'd love to chat with you. So i'm open to anytime but we need to just say a time, like maybe once a week we can have a chat time and if you can join us great, if not, catch you next week. What do you think? I propose Wednesday evening at 6 pm Pacific, 7 Mountain, 8 Central, 9 Eastern, and sorry Teel.....i don't know what time that is for you, probably some awful hour in the a.m?...

Thank you for getting our new thread started. It looks great.

Probably gonna be quiet since it is the weekend. I think a weekly chat is great but Wed. evening lets me out cuz I always work that night. But my schedule is kind of weird anyway.

I will go back and see if I missed anything since posting yesterday. Today is a long work day for me again so will check in tomorrow. Love ya,

Hello I can't belive how much time has gone bye. All I can say is the stress is killing me. My Mom has started her cancer treatment she goes 5 days a week for treatment. I will not let her go by herself because no one should go through this by themselfs. So my wonderful kids are being so much help they will take her mom-thurs and I will go with her on fri so I can meet with the Dr. The stress is killing my fibro and IBS so I have had to up double and even triple some of my meds. And I am back to taking sleeping pills to sleep.

I tryed to catch up but I am so far behind. Maybe things will slow down now that most of extra hiring at work should be done. Of course we hire 12 and lose 5! It really scares me how lazy some of the well to do kids of this day and age.

I will keep all of you in my prayers. Have a Great Thanksgiving! Sunny I hope you are having a great time with your family.

Sami~you and family, especially your Mom will be in prayer. You have so much going on now, no wonder your fibro and ibs are acting up. But i hope you are able to take some time for you, to do what you can to help your own health.

It's Sunday, i'm feeling very blue this am. I think i need to get moving, do some exercise and some cleaning, that'll make me feel better.

Sami, prayers for your family and for your FMS and IBS symptoms to cease for a while. I know they never go away completely but it sure is nice when we get those breaks.

My cold is mostly gone but it has put me in a flare-up with FMS and so been just laying around today and reading. Just wanted to pop in and say hi.

Mitchy, hope the moving around helps you feel a little less blue.

Hello to everybody else.

Good Morning CEers!!!![/b]

I thought I would take a moment to check in with you. Glad to hear from you Sami~ and Wilma~. Hope everyone is doing all better now and getting ready for Thanksgiving. We will be having a small quiet Thanksgiving here as usual. I have to work a little that afternoon, diabetics. I am planning on making our favorites but trying to make things more low fat and eat smaller portions. We sat down yesterday and discussed the meal and decided on one dessert. . . . pecan pie. :yikes: I don't have a clue how to make that low fat but with only one pie, there won't be much to "splurge" on. I have learned to use applesauce instead of oil when I can, and just use the egg whites or egg beaters instead of whole eggs. The way I look at it, we are doing a lifestyle change and this is ONLY ONE day!!! My weakness is . . . . . .just one thing . . . . . .EVERYTHING!!!

Prayers please. When I finally got home Friday night after work and going to Walmart for some things, my right shoulder was sore. I have no idea what I might have done to it but it has stayed sore all weekend. I can't raise it very high or extend it down toward my knees. For some time I have been having problems with my left elbow everytime I carry something heavy with it, it gets inflammed and I have to take meds to improve it and now this shoulder on the opposite site. :?: I don't know if carrying groceries did it or if I pulled a muscle, I have no idea. I really can't take off to go to the MD this week, so pray it improves. I'm not even sure I will be able to do my job properly today. I have to wrap a very large man's legs with ace bandages and I have to lift them myself, he is unable, etc...

Well, gotta go, it's raining here in central Texas AGAIN, and it's trying to flood. Guess instead of my comfortable car, I better take the Dodge dually today with the water situation like it is. Climbing in and out of that, will help my shoulder, so much.

Prayers going out for all of you.
Hope EVERYONE has a GOOD day. Sorry for the whining.

Mitchypoo
11-22-2004, 11:41 AM
Sherry~i pray you have healing soon with that shoulder. It sounds like what happened to a girl at work, she had tendonitis, which can flare up for no reason at all. Hope you are better soon. And re: making the pecan pie, how about using Splenda instead of sugar? It's good for baking too.

Talked to Doug last night for quite awhile on the phone.......still confusing. Still bummed. I tried to post pics and post this weekend but i couldn't make it work, got frustrated.

Didn't do Alpha last night, i wasn't up for it.....and it was healing night and my cousin was counting on me to do prayer ministry. I feel like i would not have been good in prayer but i feel bad that she was disappointed in me.....

Hi Everyone...

Sami- Whew...you ARE stressed. I will put you and mom in my prayers. I'm so sorry you must trudge through the storm. Just hang on...Jesus is ready to carry your load...He's much stronger than you. Hugs.

Sherry- My arm did that once and I do NOT know why is came on. After ibuprophen (sp), if I remember correctly, it went away after a couple days.

What is my weakness? Anything with sugar in it...especially pie.

My girls and their significant others will be going to the truck stop as usual. DH will eat down south at deer camp.

Mitchy- I don't like it that you are bummed about the Doug situation. Is that why you were blue on Sunday? I think you should take Simba to the doggy store and then take yourself somewhere and splurge on something fun (and cheap). I took Nikki to the doggy store today; we walked there. She loves it. Yeah, I'd like to do the chat thing but Wed is my KP duty at church.

Linus- So...can you tell us anything about Teel? Who is taking care of her dog? Healing prayers going her way.

Bunna- How are you? Glad the cold is leaving. Rest up! Hey, how'd the thing with the girl at work go? The one who's "busy" at work with things she shouldn't be busy with.

I painted my office today. One coat so far. My legs and arms and hand got so tired, I called my friend who offered to paint it in the first place, and he's coming to do the 2nd coat tomorrow. What a baby I am. I also decided to NOT do the suede finish. I just bought a light color that is super washable (due to Nikki in and out of that room all the time). I'm just looking forward to putting it back together again.

Well, I'd better say so long and go do up the few dishes I dirtied. Hugs to you all!

Matthew 13:45-46
'Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.'

A diet that worked! It wasn't anything fancy. It wasn't anything expensive. It didn't involve equipment or special treatments. In fact, it was a diet that anyone could do. Sally sat and talked with her pastor for about an hour, and he helped her see why she should diet for her own good, as well as for God. Her pastor has been a support for her ever since, and she has included God every step of the way. She feels stronger than ever before. It is like finding a treasure. She was so excited and so thankful. God has given her something that no one else can: a better figure and a deep, abiding joy.
Today's thought: My weight will be lost, no matter the cost!

Hi all

This morning was a bit odd, when i went to take Simba out i had my bag that had my gym stuff in it on my porch, the socks were out and the pants, and the bag was there with the tennis shoes placed on top. I first thought, oh, i must have dropped that last night? Then i realized that if i dropped it, the shoes wouldn't be on top like that. So i look in my car and everything is out of my glove box and on the floor and the seat. I got scared, got Simba in and called the police. The only thing i think they took was a gold Seiko watch i had in the console that i was going to get fixed. I can't see anything else they took. I had a really old cell phone i forgot i had, they didn't want it. Kind of creepy that they were in my car, and i guess i'm glad i didn't lock it, or else i would have had a broken window.

Mitchy, sorry about your car. I am so tired of people, it seems that there are more and more bad people out there.

Matthew 2:10
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

The star was the sign to the wise men that they were near their journey's end. They had followed the signs of the times, and they had been led toward Bethlehem. The star shone its light on their way, and they came to the Christ child. As we diet, we can follow the light of Christ in our own lives. Christ shines His light on us to remind us of all we can be. His strength supports us along the way, and we come to possess His joy as we succeed in our quest. Nothing can keep the light of Christ from us, and, with Christ's help, nothing can keep us from losing weight.
Today's thought: If God can lead travelers to the east to find Jesus, then he can lead me to a slimmer, trimmer me!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING GALS

Well, Angie and I made it home safe and sound from our quick 4 day trip to Washington state. Bunna will be happy to know that we did indeed purchase a home in Kennewick ( ;) ). I feel it is a good investment, at a price we can swing and still keep our California home...we can try another area and if we don't like it we can move back. The home is a little over 2000 square feet, single story and a 3 car garage, it is in a planned community with 1 new park and another one coming, walking trails and we bought a lot in a cul-de-sac so there won't be much traffic...plus a big yard for these puppies to grow in. The home won't be started for a month or so, will take about 5 months to finish...we told the owner to take his time as it would be 2 years before we would move in for sure...if the house gets ready in the spring as they think then Angie and I will go up this summer and stay for awhile...then go from there...actually I hope to do my own drywall so I may head up sooner...anyway---it is ALMOST a for sure thing...we got verbal loan approval over the phone when we got home...so...well, we still have a week to back out and get full refund of the deposit. Still thinking but FOR SURE planning on it.

Well everyone have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will have our on Saturday with alot of family and friends coming...tomorrow, Angie and I will have chinese from HAPPY NOODLE! and put up CHRISTMAS stuff!!

PRAYERS FOR YOU AND YOU FAMILIES!! Love ya, Gary

We have snow on the ground. I must admit I like how it looks. I just didn't like driving on the roads. It had rained earlier in the day (on Monday) and it turned to snow later in the day and then ice overnight. Not fun. Thankfully we are all safe.

This weekend we get to start removing the cabinets and taking down the wall we want removed. I'm excited to start and yet know I won't like the mess. Oh well, this was my idea. The installer will be in early next week to begin rearranging the cabinets in the new area. YEAH!! My entrance is now a nice dark moss green. Looks great!!

I'm doing okay with my eating. Still struggling with the planning and eating properly in the evenings. If i was alone I would just make a salad but I have 3 other men to worry about and salads won't do for them.

Gary: Congrats on the possible new house. It looks really nice.

Michele: I'm so sorry about your car. At least there was no damage. It's sad that people think they have to do this to others. It gets so much worse around Christmas too. Lovely pic. You are very pretty. No wonder you have so much attention from these guys.

Sami: Thanks for popping in. You are in my prayers.

sunshinelady: Prayers for your shoulder. It's wierd how these things happen. Take care of yourself.

Sprout: Just want you to know I appreciate the devotions. I need them.

Have a great day.

Gary, Wow!!!! How exciting for you and Angie! That really is a neat house. I hope everything works out as you wish. How close is that to Bunna?

Wilma, sounds like you'll be busy with the remodeling in your house. The mess will be gone soon and how exciting to see something new. My mom and dad have redone their kitchen, dining room, front room and garden room, dad tells me i won't recognize it but i can't wait to see it! And thank you dear, for the compliment, very nice of you.

Hope you all had a wonderful Turkey Day! I had a lazy day and then went to my Aunt's house for dinner. It was fine, it's really nice of them to include me, but i always seem to feel like an outsider for some reason. The most sweetest thing was when my cousins baby girl, about 3, she started talking to me and wanted me to help her find some of her cousins who were hiding from her, well when i left she was on her mom's lap and blew me a kiss, it was so sweet, so i left out the garage door and the door opens and here is Bridget who runs out to give me a hug......it was SOOO cute. That made my holiday.

Doug and I are talking and he asked me for directions how to do the turkey and stuffing, which i did and he got up that morning and did it. Bird in oven when we talked, then i explained how to do gravy.....kind of funny when you think of it, how to explain something most of us take for granted. I learned from watching my mom and grandma when i was really young, i've always just known how to do those things. I was impressed though that he'd actually do the whole meal. I didn't get to talk to him last night to see how it turned out.

So i'm here at work, feeling a little sorry for myself. Nobody else is here, Scheryl should be coming in. I got her a biscotti this morning to enjoy with coffee. Oh, she just showed up. The phone hasn't rung yet. It's suppose to rain/snow today. Gosh I'd love to go home and clean.

Exodus 15:1
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, 'I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.'

The children of Israel were pursued by a great army as they came to the Red Sea. The Lord opened their way for them, then closed it up behind them, washing away the fighting force of Egypt. Moses and his followers were delivered, and the power of God was proven once more. When we are oppressed by obesity, we can also call upon the Savior of Israel for salvation. The God who led His people out of captivity in Egypt will also lead His children of today out of captivity to fat. How can we doubt the power of God? With His help, all things are possible, if we will only believe.
Today's thought: I'm breaking free from a body of fat!

Hello all!

Well, we got snow last night! It's really pretty. We only got a light dusting but they say we'll have 1-3 inches maybe by tonight.

I had a banana for breakfast and also having my :coffee: at work. I'm going after work to get some yarn and try to get some scarves or gloves made for the girls at work.

There's a chance that Doug will be coming out again for a visit on December 17.... :) We'll see what happens.

HI GALS

Hope this finds everyone "stuffed"! If you ate too much...DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!! ...it was only ONE day! Pat myself on the back :cp: I didn't overeat on Thanksgiving ;) ..."cause Angie and I are having it today! We were going to get chinese but they were closed this year so we went to Carl's Junior for salad (Angie) and chili burgers (guess) ;) We will have around 20 family and friends here today for ham and turkey.

I can't eat too much though (can't nap!) because my USC Trojans play Notre Dame tonight in a big game for them...just 3 more wins and "my team" will be National Champions....but....that will be 2 wins against BIG RIVALS- N.D and UCLA...which they should win...then against probably Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl...if they lose :nono: then they should be in the Rose Bowl which will unfortunately be a bummer this year...yea, like you gals really care...gettin' that Angie attitude from ya...I can feel it ;)

MICHELE Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving, sorry about the gym bag and car..creeps! and what's this with Doug? Girl you confuse me!! ;) I hope what ever is best for YOU!! works out.

WILMA It doesn't snow much where Angie and I may move..but it is today..I will catch up with you, Michele, Donna, MaryK, and all the others that have to drive in it from time to time, for lessons. I think we are going in reverse...LEAVING the sun and good weather for LESS good weather in our old age...not too smart! PLANNING!! remember is the KEY...ya know, those three guys are pretty talented...if they each prepared one meal each week for just the guys, well...it sure would help you to concentrate on your own meal planning ;) ...I know 'cause Angie MADE ME do it!! Have a great time in the messed up kitchen this week-end..it will be over soon.

Well Angie is sending me to the store for stuff.....

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR BREAK...PRAYERS FOR ALL!

Hi All!

Boy, I've been not on board for 5 days and I'm suprised there aren't many posts.

Wilma- It kitchen will be worth the wait and the mess. Be creative with the mess and cooking.

Mitchy- EEK about the car. Yuk...erie. Anyway, your pics are great. you are quite beautiful and I see you're doin the hair thing again. Lucky!

EZ- Whew! Pretty house. That's alot of space to keep clean.

I'm waiting for DH to come home anytime from AR. We got snow Wednesday night...6in. I HATE driving in it too. Turkey day was ok, my girls and their significant others went to the truck stop. The food was not as good this year so we will be doing our own starting next year. I went to the Shepherds about 6:30 for an hour and a half of bingo and then watched TV with a couple of the residents there until 11:00. WOW!

The gal there in the wheelchair I mentioned has turned out to be skitzophprenoic, and has maunchausen and is manic depressive. None of the things she's told me have turned out to be true. Her medical conditions she brings on herself even her feeding tube. No, she never had a heart transplant nor anything else. Her mother told me all of this and that she looks for people "like me" to "stick" to. Anyway, we put her in our life team prayer requests tonight. Her mother said "Now you can understand why I have backed away from her." She tried to hurt her mother 2x. She's bilked the government out of alot of money and posed as an RN in a hospital without any nursing school. VERY intelligent. She does NOT have Muscular Dist but won't walk because of the maunchausen. Very sick sick person.

Well, gotta go...

Mkay~"doin the hair thing" ? I don't get it. What did i do? Really sad about the girl you were trying to support. But some people are just sick. There is a guy at church who has some mental problems, takes a lot of medication, etc. He has been calling me for about a year, asking for help or just needs to talk. I had been warned not to be alone with him, because he has some rage issues, so i'm careful around him. Then last week he called me to ask if i'd go with him to a singles social function he wanted to go to this Friday, he would drive. I was very uncomfortable with the idea and told him yesterday that i couldn't go. Then I talked to a lady at church who is a psychologist, who is the one who warned me, and SHE IS THE ONE who suggested he ask me to go with him. ? :dizzy:  I couldn't believe it. I said to her, "Aren't you the one who warned me?" and she totally played it like, well ya, but it'd be good for him to get out, blah blah blah....

I'll try to post more at lunch...

Mitchy- "Doin the hair thing" is wearing it absoutely beautiful and long. I think that if you gave me some, you'd still have enough. I hope you didn't take any offense...truly the contrary. Yikes to the guy and the lady who suggested he ask you. I'm glad you confronted her on that being that she warned you in the first place.

DH got home early Sunday morning (3:00 a.m.) and we slept in...played hookey from church and went out to breakfast and then to my mom/dad's for a visit. We actually laid around and watched TV in the afternoon. We hadn't done that in months.

Back to work today. I really don't mind, it keeps be more structured. Hey, guess what? I took a walk during the first part of my lunch today. Yeahhhhh!

Tonight I will actually cook a healthy dinner and do some paperwork AND bed early.

Hugs to everyone!

Tipping the Scales in Your Favor

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tips for Weight Loss and Maintenance
Have you decided to start eating healthier and become more physically active? Have you realized that healthy choices have a positive impact on not only yourself, but also those around you?

If your goal is to lose weight or maintain your current healthy weight, here are some tips to help you achieve that goal. Remember, to maintain weight, you must balance calories with the energy you burn through physical activity. If you eat more than you expend, you gain weight. If you eat less (reduce calories) than you expend, you lose weight!

Make healthy choices a habit. This leads to a healthy lifestyle! Make a commitment to eat well, move more, and get support from family and friends. Even better, start eating healthier and being active together!

Remember to be realistic about your goals. If you try to reduce the calories, fat, saturated fat, and sugar in your diet AND promise to make a drastic change in your physical activity level, you may be setting yourself up for failure. Instead of trying to make many changes at once, set smaller, more realistic goals for yourself and add a new challenge each week.

Conduct an inventory of your meal/snack and physical activity patterns. Keep a food and activity journal. Write down not only what you ate, but where, when, and what you were feeling at the time. You will see what triggers your hunger and what satisfies your appetite. What foods do you routinely shop for? What snacks do you keep in the pantry?

Eat at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits per day. If you're adding fruits and vegetables to your diet, try substituting them for higher calorie, less nutritious foods. Check out the CDC 5 A Day Web site for great information on the 5 A Day Nutrition Program, suggestions on how to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, and healthy recipes that meet the 5 A Day recommendation.

Eat foods that are high in fiber to help you feel full. Whole grain cereals, legumes (lentils and beans), vegetables, and fruits are good sources of fiber that may help you feel full with fewer calories.

Prepare and eat meals and snacks at home. This is a great way to save money, eat healthy, and spend time with your family. When preparing meals, choose low-fat/low-calorie versions of your favorite ingredients and learn how easy it is to substitute. For example:

Switch to 1% or nonfat milk and low-fat cheeses.
Use a cooking spray instead of oil or butter to decrease the amount of fat when you cook.
Prepare baked potatoes with low-fat blue cheese dressing or low-fat plain yogurt instead of butter or sour cream.
Some good Web sites to help you plan a healthy meal:

National Institutes of Health's Interactive Menu Planner
American Heart Association's Delicious Decisions*
Start by using a scale and measuring cup to serve your food. Read food labels to determine serving sizes. One bowl of cereal may actually be two ¾-cup servings. A small frozen pizza may contain up to three servings (check the nutrition information label). This could add up to more calories than you think you’re getting. Being aware of serving sizes may make it easier to avoid those extra calories.

Choose snacks that are nutritious and filling. A piece of fresh fruit, cut raw vegetables, or a container of low-fat yogurt are excellent (and portable) choices to tide you over until mealtimes. Take these snacks with you for a healthy alternative to chips, cookies, or candy.

Take your time! Eat only when you are hungry and enjoy the taste, texture, and smell of your meal as you eat it. Remember, it takes approximately 15 minutes for your stomach to signal your brain that you are full.

If you choose to eat out, remember these important suggestions: Watch your portions. Portion sizes at restaurants (including fast food) are usually more than one serving, which can result in overeating. Choose smaller portion sizes, order an appetizer and a leafy green salad with low-fat dressing, share an entree with a friend, or get a "doggy bag" and save half for another meal.

Forgive yourself. If you occasionally make mistakes, don’t give up! Forgive yourself for making that choice and keep working on it. Eat an extra healthy lunch and dinner if you had a high-calorie, high-fat breakfast. Add more physical activity to your day.

Remember physical activity! Aim for at least 30 minutes (adults) or 60 minutes (children) of moderate-intensity physical activity five or more days of the week. If you are just starting to be physically active, remember that even small increases provide health benefits. Check with your physician first, and then start with a few minutes of activity a day and gradually increase, working your way up to 30 minutes. If you already get 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a day, you can gain even more health benefits by increasing the amount of time that you are physically active or by taking part in more vigorous-intensity activities.

For more information on making physical activity a regular part of your healthy lifestyle, visit CDC's Physical Activity Web site.

Mkay~ oooohhhh, i get it now. :dizzy: No offense at all, i just read it wrong and couldn't figure out what you meant. I would gladly give you some, dear! And thanks for the compliment ;) And yeah to you on getting a walk in at lunch. I go to PT tonight and Wednesday.

I've made myself a weekly list and i'm determined to get things done this week. I'm feeling better overall, so i'll feel even better if i get some things off my list.

I'm trying to eat low-carb today but not doing well. Low-blood sugar issues. But i'm not over-eating, so i'll just continue to try to improve.

Where is everyone?

I'm up to my eyeballs in mess. We took down the wall on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. My guys and I were kicking at it. I told my guys this was the only wall I wanted to see holes punched into. The opening has really opened up the space. It'll be a lot brighter. I'll post pics when I get them. Our installer should be coming Wed. or Thurs. so it should start taking shape then.

Ive been doing a bit better with my WOE. I'm still eating my salads for lunch and am doing better with dinners. Still finding planning hard because sometimes no one's home and then other days they're all home. I'm getting back into exercising too - something I really need to do if just for the energy I get from it.

I don't have time to post individually but I just wanted to let you know I'm here and praying for you.

Have a super day!

Good morning all :coffee:

Mitchy, creepy on the car and gym bag thing. I hate when other people bother "my" things without my consent. Liked the pictures and that was nice of you to help Doug with the turkey dinner. I am little confused :chin: too I guess cuz I thought that was a disappointment for you. Whatever is best for you though is what is important. ;)

Mkay, I am jealous about the snow. We don't usually get any then if we do it is melted off by early afternoon. :mag:

Gary, congrats on the house, looks great. Don't remember who was asking but that puts you about eight hours away from me. Moving from the sun to the rain????

Wilma, can't wait to see the pictures. Isn't it exciting? :dancer:

Our remodel is put off until mid-January or February now cuz the kids are still here. :(

As for me, keeping too busy :rollpin: :rollpin: :rollpin: and haven't had time to be on here since Thanksgiving day. Working full days and finding it hard to fit in a regular eating plan and then I get too hungry... :eating2: well you all know the rest of that story. Today I am going back to the gym even though my knee still hurts, I am tired of waiting it out. :tread: :strong: I'll just do the recumbant bike and ellipitical machine with a little treadmill in there. So I am just hanging in.

My mom has been bugging me for a optic Christmas tree so I bought one yesterday and will give it to her today. Of course, even though she has been hinting like crazy she will act totally surprised by the gift. :gift:

Everybody have a great day.

Hi,

I know i've confused everyone re: doug, because i never explained the situation. I can't really now either, just getting back to work, and guess i should ....work! ;) But i'll try maybe tomorrow. I know i won't have time tonight because i have the support group until 8 pm.

We got our poinsettias today at work. There was a fundraiser for the battered women's group i work for, they are really beautiful, they are double plants and i had 7 delivered.

5 A Day Fruit and Vegetable Quick Tips

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5 A Day Basics
Fruits and vegetables look good, taste great and contain vitamins and minerals.
Eating 5 to 9 A Day is quick and easy. A serving is a medium-size piece of fruit; ¾ cup (6 fl. oz.) of 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice, ½ cup cooked or canned vegetables or fruit, 1 cup of raw leafy vegetables, ½ cup cooked dry peas or beans, or ¼ cup dried fruit.
You can get your 5 to 9 A Day in many ways because fruits and vegetables come fresh, frozen, canned, dried, and as 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice.
Wash fresh fruits and vegetables thoroughly in water.

How Many Servings Do You Need Each Day?
It depends on your age, gender, and activity level:

Children ages 2–6 years old, women, some older adults Older children, teen girls, active women, most men Teen boys, active men
Calories About 1,600 About 2,200 About 2,800
Vegetable Group 3 servings 4 servings 5 servings
Fruit Group 2 servings 3 servings 4 servings
*Adapted from the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2000

Getting Started
Not sure how to eat 5 to 9 A Day? Start the day with 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice. Slice bananas or strawberries on top of your cereal. Have a salad with lunch, and an apple for an afternoon snack. Include a vegetable with dinner and you already have 5 A Day. If you need more than 5 servings per day (see chart above), try adding a piece of fruit for a snack or an extra vegetable (like carrots or green beans) at dinner.

There are so many choices when selecting fruits and vegetables. Have you ever tried kiwifruit? How about asparagus? Try something new that helps you reach your 5 to 9 A Day.

Keep things fresh and interesting by combining fruits and vegetables of different flavors and colors, like red grapes with pineapple chunks, or cucumbers and red peppers.

When you keep fruits and vegetables visible and easily accessible you tend to eat them more; for instance, store cut and cleaned produce at eye-level in the refrigerator, or keep a big bowl of fruit on the table.

You can get some of your 5 to 9 A Day at restaurants too. Try some of these healthy choices.

veggie pizza
pasta with vegetables (but watch out for those high fat cream sauces)
fresh vegetable "wrap"
vegetable soup
small salad (instead of fries)
plenty of fresh vegetables from the salad bar.

In A Hurry During The 9 To 5? Pack And Go For 5 To 9 A Day!
Buy ready-to-eat packaged fresh vegetables that are already cleaned. Pre-cut vegetables and salad mixes are a terrific 5 A Day time-saver. You'll find them at your local supermarket.
A fast food alternative? Your local supermarket may offer prepared items, including sliced melons, fresh pineapple, salad mixes, and a salad bar to satisfy your hunger.
Fruits and vegetables are nature's original fast food. When it's snack time, grab
Fruit— an apple or orange, or a zip lock bag and fill with sweet cherries, grapes, dried dates, figs, prunes, raisins, or apricots
Vegetables— carrot sticks, broccoli, or some red, yellow, and green pepper. Try dipping your vegetables in low-fat or non-fat salad dressing.
In a hurry for a 5 A Day treat? Pick fruits and vegetables that require little peeling or chopping, like baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, grapes, apples, broccoli spears, an apple, a banana, or a box of 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice.
Here's a great way to get some of your 5 to 9 A Day. Buy low-fat yogurt, fruit juice, and fresh, canned, or frozen fruit to blend a quick fruit smoothie. Get juicy! Buy 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice to quench your thirst and satisfy one serving of your 5 to 9 A Day.
Top Your Meals The 5 A Day Way
Try these tasty additions to add flavor to your 5 A Day salad:
Green or red pepper strips, broccoli florets, carrot slices, or cucumber add crunch to your pasta or potato salad.
Baby carrots, shredded cabbage, or spinach leaves bring color to a green salad.
Apple chunks, pineapples, and raisins perk up coleslaw, chicken or tuna salads.
Oranges, grapefruit, or nectarine slices add extra flavor to any salad.
Fruit juice, flavored vinegars, or herbs make low-fat salad dressings flavorful without adding fat or salt.
Wake up with 5 A Day! Add sliced banana, blueberries, or raisins to cereal.
Add fresh fruit and vegetables to foods you already eat — like berries and bananas to yogurt and cereal; vegetables to pasta and pizza; and lettuce, tomato and onion to sandwiches.
Put some punch into your party by blending 100 percent fruit juices to create a refreshing new juice. Try mixing pineapple, orange, grapefruit, or other fruit juices. Add a slice of lemon or lime as a garnish.

Cooking With 5 A Day
Using a microwave is fast and fun. Use a microwave or pressure cooker to quickly "zap" vegetables or a potato and retain their nutrients.
Grill fruits or vegetables. When grilling, wrap vegetables in aluminum foil, or use skewers of pineapple, yellow squash, eggplant, nectarines, zucchini, or cherry tomatoes, onions, mushrooms. Place over medium-hot coals for a fun-to-eat and flavorful BBQ treat.
Make a quick smoothie in the blender by puréeing peaches and/or nectarines, a touch of your favorite fruit juice, crushed ice, and a light sprinkling of nutmeg.
Make homemade salsa with tomatoes, mangoes, avocados, red onions, cilantro, and lime juice.
Looking for a fun appetizer when you entertain? Try making spears of fruit by attaching strawberries, grapes, melon slices, or pineapple chunks onto small skewers. Use low-fat or non-fat yogurt for a dip.
Here's a quick fruit salad you can make in less than a minute. Open a can of juice-packed mandarin oranges and empty into a bowl. Add a sliced banana, a sliced apple, and some blueberries or raisins. There you have it-a quick way to 5 A Day.
Cool off with a great treat! Pour 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice into an ice cube tray or popsicle mold to make juice cubes or popsicles.
Sometimes you can eat some of your 5 to 9 A Day in its' own container. Kiwifruit comes with its own serving cup and cantaloupe with its own serving bowl. Just cut them in half through the middle and scoop out each half with a spoon.

5 To 9 Fun For Kids
Top off a bowl of cereal with a smiling face from sliced bananas for eyes, raisins for a nose, and an orange slice for a mouth.
You can use broccoli florets for trees, carrots and celery for flowers, cauliflower for clouds, and a yellow squash for a sun. When you're all done, you can eat your masterpiece and get your recommended 5 A Day!
Make frozen fruit kabobs for kids using pineapple chunks, bananas, grapes and berries.
Go shopping with your children. Take them to the grocery store or farmers market to let them see all the different sizes and colors that fruit and vegetables offer. Let them pick out a new fruit and vegetable to try. By making it fun and involving your kids, they'll be more likely to eat healthy foods.

WoW!!! I cannot believe that it's December 1st already!

First off... I want to *Thank Michele* for beginning a new thread ;) Nice job girl! I must say that it was nice to see that I was missed :smug: I KNOW I sure missed you all :^: !!!

*~*~*

Joe & I had a wonderful time in Maine! Our trip there was easy going and we got there in 14 hours right on the nosey! I drove all the way there... I wanted to get there on Friday evening so that I could surprise my folks at the Denny's where they go to breakfast every Saturday. And we did - surprised the heck out of them!! My sis & her DD walked in first while Joe & I hung back a bit and then came in after another couple --- it was priceless when it dawned on my mother that the girl that looked allot like her daughter was her daughter :lol3: it was the best! My sis & I finally pulled one over on my mother and believe me, that was not easy! The whole week was great! Everyday was filled with something to do and places to go... it went so very fast! I do have some great pictures to share with you all, but must downsize them before I do --- give me a day or so and I will post them for you, okay.

We got home on Sunday evening at 8:18pm leaving my sister's at 6am, but the drive home was harder with the rains and winds we had to fight, not to mention that all the college kids were heading back to school too. Unfortunately we witnessed a 5 car pile up in NY - all 5 college cars - I really felt for them! No one was hurt thank the Lord, but all their loaded up cars were spread all over the roadways... bummer! I was glad to see no one was hurt! And glad to be home! Lisa took such good care of our boys that they didn't even miss us at first, but after we were home on Monday it dawned on them that we were home again to stay. Zeppe kept me up all night Sunday night wanting me to pet him and filling my face with is rough kisses... and Domino & Guido fought for my attention on Tuesday all day.. kitties are just too funny. I really missed them too!

I haven't had the time to catch up with *all* your posts, but I will try to do my best, so I have some idea what's going on with everyone.

Hey gang... I lost another pound while in Maine, so I am now down 27lbs. & officially in the 180's!!!!! yeah!! I am almost half way to my goal!!!

Well, I really must be going, I have so much to catch up with today: Bill's, Laundry, Decorating for Christmas, Christmas Cards... just to begin with.

Love you guys!!!!
{{{Hugs}}}
I'll be back soon!

December 1

Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Everyone was impressed with Annette's confidence. One day she announced that she was going on a diet, and she did just that. Over the course of the next few months, people watched the wondrous transformation take place. She had set her mind toward losing weight, and nothing even slowed her down. Such strength of conviction was a great inspiration for her friends. God loves it when we stand up for something and will not be swayed. Whether it be a matter of faith or just of personal conviction, we are being true to our Creator when we triumph. Victory comes to those who walk in confidence.
Today's thought: Without a doubt, fatness is out!

Gooooood Mornin' Gang!!

:wave:Hi Teel!
It's so good to see you back too! I sent a *GET WELL* Message through your friends Linus, I hope you got it (I PM'd her with it before I left for Maine). I am so very sorry to hear that you became so ill --- what happened? What went so wrong that you had to go to the hospital? Did you get an infection? You have my continued prayers for a full recovery, sweetie :grouphug:

Hi All!

Sunny!!!! Good to have you back. LOVE the pics. Not boring to me. I'm very happy that you had a great trip and surprising Mom had to have been priceless. It looks as though you and your sister are very close.

Mitchy- I love the poinsettias at Christmas. They are so lovely. How's the snow in your neck of the woods? We have just a smidgen from Tuesday night and it's going. Yeah!

Bunna- Yuk to snow. Yeah, it's pretty for a very short time, then it can leave in a very short time.

Teel- Wow, what's up with the hospital deal?

Bye for now all

Sunny, welcome back, good to hear that you had such a great time. By the way, you don't look like the oldest. When we came home from Vegas my one cat slept on my chest all night so I didn't sleep real well cuz he is a big cat and he refused to move.

Teel, so glad you are out of the hospital.

Mkay, what have you been up to.

Wilma, how goes the kitchen battle?

Mitchy did do a good job keeping us going.

Sprout is posting the daily devotionals again which are so appreciated and so accurate.

Gary, are you there???? Busy busy busy????

As for me nothing much but working. The weight battle is going about the same. I am up a little bit which is discourating cuz I did not want to get into the 260's again. I keep telling myself at least I have lost 20 something and that is better than gaining all of it back. My lowest since beginning SBD is 258.5 which I am shooting for by my next weigh-in.

Have a good one.

Oh, here's a pic of our first snowfall, which kind of left us, then today it started snowing but then it must have gotten warm because it started to rain, so it's kind of gone now again.

Good Friday Morning CER's :coffee2:

Thanks Marilyn!! I always enjoy the devotions you post... hope that this note finds you feeling well these days :^:

Oh my Michele, Nice picture!! Beautiful!! But a bit huge  You just need to downsize the picture before you upload it to Photobucket... my pictures are 300 X 225 in size and about 30 - 33KB ~ the picture you just posted is 1536 X 1152 & 244KB, see the difference? I just wanted to let you know for your future postings ;) Love the graphic too!

Good Morning MKay! Thank you for the welcome home :) I missed you guys! Yes, my sister and I are very close!! She is a very ill young lady (health-wise) and is also Bi-Polar and on meds for that... she needs all the love and support a body can give her. She's a sweetheart!!!

Hi Gary! Are you still reading these days??? Loved all the pictures of the pups - my how they have grown!

How's life been these days??? Nice home you are thinking of buying... any news??

Hi Bunna, we had a few flurries this morning in NE Ohio, but nothing much to speak of :( I sure do hope that we get some snow before Christmas --- it just doesn't feel the same without even a light covering. The decorations are so beautiful when it snows.

How sweet of you to say that about me being the oldest... I will go on that forever - you made my day, week, year! Thanks! I think it's because Joe takes such good care of me --- I must admit I am spoiled. Both my mother and my sister have had very hard lives (God Bless them).

I think you had asked about my diet program I am on --- it's working for me and so far I feel totally comfortable with it. Here is the Link to the IBS site---> http://www.helpforibs.com/ I hope it helps you too! I try my very best to stick to it, because I gain weight (bloat mostly!) and feel terrible when I go off it. I am still losing, very slowly, but I'm losing! It's basically a LOW FAT DIET.

Hi Wilma, Sounds like you are coming along with your home improvements!! I cannot WAIT to see your pictures! Here's to getting it finished before Christmas or soon after ;)

*I Miss you!*

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/BAR05.gif

Do any of you watch Survivor? I am sooooo glad that Ami is off now - she is so fake!!! Faker then the tree's Joe & I have been looking at :o I am glad to see Chris is hanging in there - I like him and he has been very fair and good to everyone. Unlike some of those women on there (sad) to see their behavior and know that I am of the same gender  Something what people will do for $$$ :(

Today I plan on finishing up with the laundry and then trying to get started with my decorating... I did do a little decorating yesterday just to get started. Tomorrow, instead of meeting with our friends like usual for breakfast, Joe and I are heading out very early for the stores: K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Lighthouse and More, Wholesale Clubs... searching for a fake tree. We have ALWAYS gotten a real tree, but I am getting tired of picking up after it and Joe is tired of lugging it. Soooo we are going to caved in & get a fake one this year, they are so beautiful now and look so real - I cannot wait to get one this year. I hope we find one early in the day so we can get home and begin to decorate it on Saturday. Sunday we'll meet with our friends for breakfast after church - we haven't seen them for over 2 weeks & have allot of catching up to do! I miss them.

What are you all planning for the weekend??? Doing some Christmas Shopping or Decorating?? I know what I am getting Joe for the holiday, but haven't gotten anything yet.

 Hi Sami (Hope you are feeling better - {{{Hugs}}}), Sherry (Didn't I see you return? Where are you now that I am here? Miss you!), Sue (Little girl lost? Miss you!), DaleMarie, Angie-Wangie (How have you been lately?), Lakegirl, Teel (Feel better, sweetie!), On-my-weigh (Where did you go? How's that little one in your tummy doing?), Dawniebee and anyone else lurking & MIA :) Please stop in again and pay us a visit when you can... in the meantime, I am wishing you all the best Christmas and New Year ever!!

Have a beautiful day today everyone!
Love you guys!!

Hi all!

Sunny~sorry about the pic being so huge, i know how to resize at home, but need to learn how to do that at work.

Mkay~that is the view from my back door. I live on a farm. The old building is the old grainery, it's kind of historical. The man who lived here, i am told, had his wedding dance in that grainery. I've never been inside, kind of creepy to me. The snow is pretty sometimes though.

Mitchy- Wow...how cool. I'll bet it's lovely and peaceful. Room for more?

Someday, I will take some time out on a Saturday and figure out the bucket picture thing too. I still want to take that train to Chicago sometime.

Sunny- I'm jealous of you and Joe. What fun as a couple you have. Yes, I've been taking in Survivor with one or more of the residents at Shepherds when I play bingo on Thurs. I'm glad she's off too and I also like Chris. He's bombarbed with women. Too funny.

Weekend: Saturday is the family Christmas get together and that evening is a dinner event at church. Sunday is church and then back to work on Monday.

Well, I have a customer.

1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Sammy was tired of making excuses. He was tired of being dishonest with himself and his friends. He needed to lose weight, and he needed plenty of help to do it. He was considered a strong member of his church, but he didn't even have enough faith or conviction to take off a few pounds. He felt like a hypocrite. Surely, the God who had given him so much strength in other areas of his life could help him lose weight. Christ had conquered so very much. Sammy felt he ought to be able to conquer so very little. Prayer-fully, he began a journey toward fitness, assured of the victory through his faith in Christ.
Today's thought: A heart full of Christ is more important than a plate full of food!

Holiday Tips

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The holidays are in full swing, which means lots of family, fun…and FOOD! But it doesn’t have to mean extra pounds. Even holiday treats can fit into a healthy eating plan. The key is balance and moderation.

To avoid holiday weight gain, balance the calories you consume with the calories you burn. Physical activity and moderate food choices will help. The tips below are gifts you can give yourself and your family to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Let the holiday spirit move you!
If you make your family time active, you will become healthier and have fun doing so. Be adventurous and try something new, but also choose something you enjoy.

Stick to your regular exercise routine as much as possible. Especially during the holidays, plan your physical activity routine in advance (don’t leave it up to chance). Mark it on the calendar and consider it as important as any other appointment. Get at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity daily, and more if possible.
Cut back on your family’s television viewing time. Limit the number of hours your children spend playing video games. Instead make a new holiday tradition. Take a brisk walk (or wheel) around the neighborhood to see the holiday decorations or grab your bike, walking shoes or snow shoes and head out to the nearest trails or national park.
Play some backyard football or Frisbee with children and adults before the big holiday dinner or during football half-time.
Dance or exercise to your favorite holiday music.
Make a New Year's resolution with friends to start a daily walking group.
Be physically active to avoid or relieve the holiday stress.
Overcome the urge to overeat!

Standing by the buffet table is temptation to overeat. Remember holiday parties are a time to celebrate with family and friends, not just food.
It's easy to overindulge during the holidays. Make sure to watch portion sizes and select one or two of your favorites from the host of tempting foods.
Leave those extra calories behind—take the butter and sugar off the table.
If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation.
5 A Day the Festive Way
The holidays are a great time to enjoy your five or more servings of fruits and vegetable a day!

Bowls of fresh fruit are a festive and sweet substitute for candy or chocolates
Remember calories add up! This is especially true during the holidays when we snack more. For a healthy snack, choose a piece of fresh fruit for your 5 A Day!
You’ve tried the leftover turkey sandwich; now try the leftover turkey salad! Add a few pieces of turkey to a generous portion of mixed greens, cucumbers, mushrooms, peppers, or any other vegetables you like. Sprinkle with dried cranberries for that authentic holiday taste.

A Present Packed with 5 A Day

For a great 5 A Day holiday gift, try going to your farmer's market or grocery store and selecting fresh fruits and vegetables. Place all your tasty treats in a basket, and you have a present packed the 5 A Day way.

Good morning! :coffee:

Mkay~you are always welcome dear! It'd be fun to have you visit. I still am very interested in going to Chicago to meet. I really think the train ride is a great idea, it'd sure work for me. I just don't know about when would be good. Doug is coming here in 2 weeks, then i'm leaving for CA a couple days after that, then i'm going to Las Vegas in January (to meet the kids :o :?: :) ) and then he's planning something for my 40th in March and i have to figure something else out for me and 3 highschool girlfriends to get together in May to celebrate all of our 40th's. It'll all work out......

Today i'm working (kind of :^: ) and then i'm going to get some yarn, go to the pharmacy, going home and cleaning, then i'm going to a reception that my cousin invited me to. Have any of you heard of Dawson McAllister? He does a teen radio call-in program, the ministry is growing and going to be on non-christian stations. He's going to be here and my cousin was invited to a reception for him and she invited me to go along.

Snow may be gone by the end of today, we're suppose to hit 44 today! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Christians and Encouragers!!! Yes, Lord I must be at the right place. I was over joyed to see the heading on this thread. I am a Christian and new to 3fatchicks. I look forward to getting to know many who post here. As I embark upon this weight loss journey I solicit the prayers of the saints. I am going through perimenopause need to lose over 100 pounds! Thank you in advance for your prayers and may God continue to bless everyone here.

As you can see by the time I posted that I can't sleep. It's been an exciting weekend here. I have no kitchen but the installer will be here tomorrow to begin phase I. I am really looking forward to having counter tops again. He's going to get the working kitchen completed(without some doors) and then do the desk, china cupboard, doors etc. after Christmas. I sure don't mind that. We have a lot of painting to do and also flooring to install.

My inlaws are here and are going to be painting while I'm at work. How perfect is that!! This also means meals when I get home. Life is good.

Second exciting thing to happen. My oldest DS got engaged today. They plan to marry in August. So, I'll probably be busy for the next while. We really like the girl he's marrying and I personally will be happy for the female support increasing in my home.

Everyone here sounds like they're doing well and I wish I could spend time addressing each one of you but I'm getting sleepy. Maybe during the Christmas season I'll have some time.

Take care. Talk again soon!

Good Mornin' ---

meee too Wilma, cannot sleep for no real reason, just awake... but you (!) I can understand your excitement! Congrats to your DS on his engagement and you you and hubby too  How happy you all must be. August wedding... you don't see many weddings in August --- my hubby, Joe, sings for weddings & most are June, July, Oct., and Dec. What made them choose August?

Your renovation sounds like it's coming along nicely! It sounds like you finally got some reliable people to put your kitchen in --- good for you! I cannot wait to see the finished product and I bet that you are so very excited about it all too!!! What a great way to begin the new year ~ with a whole new kitchen! I only wish! My new kitchen is only in my Dream World right now... ;)

*Welcome* to our thread Healthy, Sorry that no one has responded before now... but most of us are pretty busy over the weekends. I myself don't usually post on the weekends when my hubby is home... we are always out and about.

I do hope that you will come back soon and wish you well on your endeavor of losing weight. I myself am on a program for IBS --- low fat foods, no dairy at all, no coffee, nothing fried... all in the attempt to keep everything calm on the insides ;) But it's also helping me lose weight! I have lost very slowly, but am losing continuously which is great. I even went on a 10 day vacation to Maine for Thanksgiving and lost a bit over a pound when I got home... pretty cool.

My girlfriend is also going through peri-menopause and it's been very hard on her. I hope that you are doing okay... she said it helps her to exercise... makes her feel better in spirit. I'm like that too and try to walk each day, I don't always succeed, but I sure try. I will keep you in my prayers too!! And do hope you will be back.

MKay, Survivor: Yep... I agree, they are both playing the game well. It will be interesting to see what happens. Because of the producers and the way they edit the shows you don't know everything and so they skew the direction you may take in the thought process of the voting. I keep thinking that the original 3 (Chris, Twilla & Scout) may vote off Eliza and stay together... but then again... :chin:

Marilyn, Thanks for the Holiday Tips! That's what I did for Thanksgiving (stuck to the reg. routine of diet & exercise) and it worked for me :D All great information! Thanks!

Michele, Yarn? You knitting scarves? Seems to be all the rage right now... How was the reception with Dawson McAllister? I don't recall hearing his name on the Christian stations here when I listen, sounds great.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/BAR12.gif

This Saturday Joe & I went from one store to another just checking out all the holiday things... so much fun! We finally found an artificial tree we liked at the very first store we went to. It's our first artificial tree, we've always gotten real until this year... these look so real now. We got ours without the lights and will put on the ones we have. It's a 7 1/2 foot Blue Spruce http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/SunnyD57/TREE02.gif I haven't been home much to decorate it, so that is my plan today. To finish setting the branches (spreading them and shaping them) and then get the lights and ornaments on it... I have gotten most of the house done and Joe finished the outdoor lights yesterday. We are a couple weeks behind because of being gone for Thanksgiving. It thew our whole system off, but we are getting there. I still have cards to do yet too and I seem to be running out of time :spin:

How are all of you doing with your Holiday Shopping and Decorating? Seems pretty quiet here again... hope it's because you all are enjoying the Christmas Season.

Remember... *Jesus is the Reason for the Seaon* ;)
*God Bless!*

Healthy~Welcome! I hope you come back soon and join us and tell us more about yourself.

Sunny!~yes, i knit scarves! I'm an avid knitter. I taught myself years ago and it's really therapeutic for me. I feel good when i have my hands busy and i'm able to create something. That's how i found the bug for spinning and making yarn. It's a lot of fun to take fiber and make something beautiful out of it and then you can turn around and knit something pretty and useful out of it. I'll take some pics of the scarves i've done. I did 3 this weekend! And i hear that Doug's daughter would like one, so I may have to make 2 more for his girls.

The reception for Dawson McCallister was really nice, they had a banquet room and a table of nice hors d'oeuvres, they had some nice speakers and then a video and then Dawson spoke. We had a chance to meet him afterward and he was very personable, acted like he knew everyone. It's a great show for our youth, he's actually saving lives. The new project is to bring his program to secular radio, so please pray about it. It's very exciting!

After that my cousin and I went to have a drink and chips and salsa at Chili's and it was nice, we had a chance to sit and talk and laugh with eachother. We haven't had a chance to do that in a long time.

Yesterday I saw John and took Simba over to see how she did with his horses and inside his house, she was fine (of course!) I'm not worried about leaving her there now, i know she'll be taken care of. John knows about Doug and seems very supportive.

More later, maybe at lunch.

We have a fresh thick blanket of snow on the ground. It's really very lovely even though the traffic was moving really slowly yesterday.

We have begun cabinet installation. He has the lower bases in without drawers, doors and shelves. He hopes to have everything workable by the end of the week. It's going to be lovely. I'm really pleased with the countertop. sometimes it's hard to judge with such a small swatch but this really looks nice. It's a granite look in black, copper and taupe. It'll go well with our honey oak cabinets.

Our kids are still in a euphoric state about their engagement. Lots of congratulations going around. Sunny, you asked why they picked August. It's because they want to work all summer and get married just before the new school year. He's going for his education degree and she's going to work to support them. Then when he has his degree she plans on getting her accounting. BTW, we've been to August weddings the past 3 years. It's almost become an annual event in our family!!

Well, gotta get to work. Have a great day!

Hello!

Healthy- Hi and welcome!!! I "believe" I am going through that same crap myself. This month has been hell oh earth for me mentally and physically.
Do stick around we like the company.

Mitchy- I'm excited about your visit from Doug. I hope all the pretty snow (even tho I don't want any) is still in MN because that scenery is lovely and romantic. My mom is a knitter and crochet person as well. I have a wonderful "eye-lash" scarf from her and I love it. It's not only pretty it's super warm as well.

Wilma Wilma Wilma...I can't begin to tell you that I know what you are going through with the kitchen thing. When we gutted our and DH and a buddy did all the work...it took months. You absoutely must be bursting at the seams with excitment to have all new stuff! I hope you will post pics.
And the engagement...WOW! I am glad you are happy with the gal. My girls both have wonderful men in their lives and that is such a comfort to me. Jenny, my oldest is starting to look at rings with her boyfriend but have not set a date yet. I do know that her lease on her apt is up October 1, 2005.

Sunny- I usually don't post on weekends either...actually just recently I haven't. I still don't have an exciting life either.

I have found that this month, my back (lower especially) is sore sore sore. When sitting, I feel it moreso. Not being on any antidepressant is taking its toll these days. Not so much today, but last week and the week before...yikes. I told DH that I didn't want to pull the sheet over myself anymore and I want to feel what I feel.

Later all...

No dancing for me, just going for the social aspect and food (of course)! Had to really dress up today, in a dress and jacket and heels. And i'm already tired!....How am i gonna make it until 10 pm tonight???!

 Hi Everyone!

It's been a very busy few days and I expect more *busy* to come! I spent the last two days decorating our home (it's still not finished yet) and also trying to play catch up with chores. I still haven't even begun my Christmas Cards yet :dizzy: I also had to be at church last night and we all had a meeting as to what we will be singing for Christmas... I look forward to Christmas - I just love to sing with our little group and bring *Hope & Promise* of the Season to others. I am actually looking forward to Christmas DAY because after church Joe & I will have some quiet time together to exchange gifts and I am making our dinner here AT HOME together this year instead of going to someone else's home - yeah :cp: We may go later to Joe's sister's for a Dessert gathering, but I love the idea of staying home together this year. We both need it - always on the run somewhere. Besides we never get to have left-over turkey, but we will this year :D

Today I made the attempt to get laundry done but didn't get far, I'll finsih tomorrow. I got all caught up in making copies of Christmas music for my family to send off. I made 12 different CD's of music we had and they wanted and will get them all sent off when we leave this afternoon. Also my sister wanted our CD's to sell at her church, so I sent her 5 of them. Joe will be home by 3:30 today and we are heading out to his sister, Maria's, for hair cuts and dinner there tonight.

*~*~*

Michele, Those scarves are all the craze this year along with the ponchos... good for you, bet you are bus, busy, busy knitting for Christmas. I look forward to seeing the pictures!! Don't forget!!

Glad to hear that you had such a good time at the reception... I met Michael Card in a small church concert one evening and he met with everyone in the church just the same way - like he knew you and if you think about it they do! We are all Children of God :)

I'm glad to hear that Simba is doing so well with John... it's really good to have someone you can trust with your pet/kid ;)

Ohhh, how was your dinner last night? Did you make it to 10:00!!!??? :D

Is that GARY I see :mag: ! We are all very busy too Mr. Man ;) Good to see you drop in once in awhile --- and YES (!) I am giving you a hard time, I miss you here! I miss you BOTH!

Hey, don't feel too bad about your Raiders... our Browns are not doing all that well either!!! :p

Cool Beans that you watch Survivor too! I can't wait to see if Chris makes it another week... you just never know!

Wilma, I am so glad to hear that everything is moving along for you :) Sounds like the kids have some real good plans there  August is a great time of year, just usually HOT here in Ohio and not many weddings for that reason... ;) I am so happy to hear that it's all working out for you and your family! You will have your NEW kitchen by then too - for all to see :D

MKay, How's your back??? Any better today? Boy did I hurt yesterday! I was hurting so much that I couldn't tell what area of my body hurt more :o !! I even got the chills from being so tired and had a difficult time warming myself up when it came time for bed & Joe said I was dreaming allot (I do that when I get over tired). Thank goodness for warming blankets! I am glad I went to bed as soon as I got home from church last night at 9:30... I feel pretty good today :)

*~*~*

Oh my goodness, it's 3:00 already! I haveta get going Joe will be home soon and I am still in my jammies :o

Take Care Everyone!

Hi all

Sunny~oh, that sounds so nice, to be able to do stuff around the house and decorate and still be in your jammies.....some day. You sound so busy, but that doesn't surprise me. ;) Dinner last night was really nice. It was at a German restaurant about an hour away and it was very busy but very nice. There were 9 of us at our table, we had some wine or beer, heard some german music/christmas music and then they had this nice buffet. Very good food. I even had desert! It was apple strudel w/this cream sauce..... :o i couldn't help it. They gave us this christmas tin on the way out and it had candies in it. Unfortunately i ate a few before bed and woke up with a sugar headache, that kind of turned into a migraine, i finally took my medicine awhile ago and it's better now. Have PT tonight and then much to do at home tonight. This week is really kicking me in the fanny......

It's been kind of quiet around here lately...

G'mornin All!

Sunny- The jammie thing is waaaaaay too wonderful, I'm getting a visual of some snow outside and it's cold and being inside in my jammies...not my sleeping jammies (I have to sleep in silky material so I don't get stuck moving around at night  ) but my fun flannels or sweats...fun! If I can get most of my shopping done tomorrow night, I will be able to wake up Sat. a.m. and do that until afternoon. DH is in the UP hunting this weekend (muzzle loading).

I have Shepherd's tonight (wrap presents) and then Survivor. Once I get home, I have a very messy house to pick up.

Friday I will hopefully get going and get shopping done because we are expecting snow later Friday.

I made pumpkin rolls for Life Team Christmas Party on Saturday night. They are yummy with a cream cheese filling. DH and I "tasted" them last night during our cribbage match...he won.

Anyway...back to work

Just a quick note to let you all know I will be back after the holidays. I am totally in my holiday slump right now and it makes it hard to post or do anything other than the everyday things. Plus the restaurant is busy with parties etc.

*Merry Christmas!*

Good Saturday Morning Everyone!

I haven't felt well in the last couple days... but am doing much better this morning (my gut :( ). I think I got sick because I have been so very busy with all that I had to get done. I am glad to be feeling better --- Joe & I have a very busy day scheduled today. First off... we are meeting with our friends for breakfast and then hitting the grocery store together. Then we are all meeting for the first showing of *The Polar Express* and after the movie shopping at the Sam's Club. Then we'll more then likely catch a few more stores for Christmas and Dinner out together. It's so much more fun when you go with your friends :smug: I just hope that I don't relapse :o

Joe & I were suppose to go to a Christmas Party together last night, but he went without me... I just wasn't feeling well enough yet. I am glad he went, usually he won't go if I don't and then I feel bad that he's missed out - but he had a good time last night and even brought me home a nativity set that the children made at the party for everyone, so cute. It was our couples bible study group with all of their children.

*~*~*

Michele, It is nice!!!! Without a doubt! I wouldn't give up my days home in jammies for anything :smug: I get allot done too --- I think because I am comfy. I even keep a sweatshirt type coat on my coat hook just in case someone stops over :^: just because I am comfy, doesn't mean that I need to shock anyone

What a nice evening you had too... glad to hear that you had such a good time :) That must be the hardest part of Christmas for me - getting all the goodies that I cannot eat any longer. But Joe can, so I'll just freeze anything I can for him and add it to his lunches... he can use to gain a couple pounds ;)

How did you do in PT? Feeling okay?

MKay, I know the feeling of snow and jammies, but no snow here yet --- just rain, rain, rain :p I do hope we get some snow by Christmas, but not too much today! We have so much running around to do and don't need the added stress of tons of snow :o But we sure would like some Christmas ;) Not asking much  I too cannot sleep in my comfy jammies... but do have ones for sleeping in OR I just take off the bottoms sleeping only in the tops, that works for me too. I must have 7 - 8 pr jammies and have them on my Christmas list too ;) There are some great silky ones on the outside with flannel on the inside at Sears in beautiful pastel colors --- on my wish list to my hubby :D

Survivor: I thought for sure that Eliza would go this time, but with her immunity necklace keeping her safe poor Julie went. I think that Chris has proven that he is holding true to his alliance with Twilla & Scout... and now I think it's in his best interest of winning the game to keep them close --- none of the other jurors like them and they just may vote in Chris! Interesting... :chin:

I LOVE PUMPKIN ROLLS!!!!! But can only have a bite if at all with all the dairy in them :( I will have to live though other's as they enjoy all the fun foods this year :^: Good and Bad ---> I won't gain weight, but I also don't get to enjoy the bet part at parties... oh well, I just keep telling myself that it's better to feel healthy. I am so glad that you are having such a good time!

Bunna, I will miss seeing you around... and have! But do understand what you are saying about being so very busy! I too have been and still have so much to still get done! I made my first Christmas Card last night and have to get at least 50 printed up and ready to send off --- just to start with! If I can get them done next week early in the week I will feel so much better... we have so many to send off :dizzy: You have a very *Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year* too and DO COME BACK after the holiday's - would you!!!!! {{{Hugs for you!}}} Feel better!!!! I care very much!

*~*~*

---> And that goes for all you MIA's!!!!!
I care and miss you all stopping in and just saying *hey there*. When you don't show up, I begin to worry! Especially because there is no way of finding out if you are okay unless you post!!! That is the downside of getting to know you all... when you don't return and just touch base, I don't know if you are doing alright :( So when you get a moment - do stop in and just let me know - us know - that you are doing well ;)

In the meantime... *Have a very

Sunny-
I can't believe Chris won! I thought that his ploy to get rid of Scout was good because everyone liked her and NOT him. BUT...with 2 that no one liked...he had a 50/50 chance. He even lied to all of them at his final speech by saying he held loyal to all his alliances. UGH! I would've picked Twilya at the final thing.

Mitchy...where are you?

Bunna- I wish I were there to help you out at the restaurant. Merry Christmas sweet friend and a blessed New Year!

Hello.......i'm here  (Kind of)

I had good intentions of getting things done this weekend at home and I just cannot seem to get things done. It's my back, or i'm tired, or i just don't have it in me to do. I've started going to bed on time to have 8 hours of sleep and that is making me feel better, but something is wrong w/me. Here is Monday and now i'm majorly stressed...... I have PT tonight and then i need to get everything together for Doug's visit this weekend and i don't have the girls at work's presents ready....and i'll get nothing done while he is here and then i leave for CA 2 days later...

The only good thing is that things w/me and Doug are going very well. He is coming to my parents house in CA Christmas afternoon/evening and will stay for a couple days. Things are heating up. He may be the one. He is so dear. I'm going to Vegas in January to meet the kids....

More later...

Praying for you all!

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Thank goodness it's Monday! I wasn't feeling very well (again) up till Friday evening last week --- Joe went to a Christmas Party without me on Friday evening (I just didn't want to see him miss out because I wasn't feeling well) and he had a great time. By Saturday morning I was doing better and we still went out to breakfast even though I was weepy from not feeling well, Peggy (my best friend) understood and was very compassionate (I miss my family in Maine so much at Christmas!). We finished shopping after breakfast and then went for lunch on our way out to Christmas shop (Peggy, Joe & myself). Mike (Peg's hubby) had to work so it was Peggy, Lisa (Peg's youngest), Joe & myself for Christmas shopping... then Mike joined us at the movie theatre for the 3:20pm viewing of *The Polar Express* movie with Tom Hanks. What a GREAT FILM !!!! I'd go see that one in the theatre again! I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride the whole movie - awesome. My favorite part was when the main character lost a ticket that belonged to the little girl --- that ticket took off into the wind and you went with it - awesome! And the characters seemed so real...

After the movies, we all went out for dinner and then we walked off dinner shopping at Wal-Mart and we laughed allot (it felt so good after not feeling well to laugh so much!) --- it was a fun day, but boy were we tuckered out by that evening! We left the house at 8:00am that morning and got home at 9:30pm! (whew!)

Sunday - After church & breakfast we came home and just vegged all day inside putting up the garland and finished some decorating...we were going to do some more shopping but were so tired and the weather wasn't so good, so we opted not to go anywhere. I still have a bit more to finish up with today and then I will be all done & just have to clean the house. I'll get some pics when I'm all done. I am tired today, but at least I'm feeling better *gut-wise*. I was pretty laid up from Wednesday thru Friday last week. This time is wasn't food that brought it on - it was the stress in trying to get so much done in a short amount of time. I always think I can do more...

We are getting snow storms today... remember I was longing for snow --- we got it :o !! Gotta be careful with what I wish for ;) We are expecting 6" by Tuesday morning and already have 2" on the ground. Joe is taking the day off on Wednesday and we have another full day! So we hope the weather will ease up some by then. We are going to visit his sister, RoseMary & her hubby Ray, who is moving back to California and will be leaving this Friday. And then when we leave them we'll go finish up some more Christmas shopping. Wednesday evening... Joe & Mike are getting together to shop for us ladies :) Also... we have Joe's Family Christmas Party this coming Saturday (12-18) to go to and Joe's work party to go to that day too. Another *Whew* day!

*~*~*

MKay, about Survivor: I felt a bit differently then you... I KNEW all along that Chris would win it!!! I told Joe as it was happening that if Twila, Scout & Chris got to the final 3 & then Chris voted off Scout that the others would vote for Chris and not Twila --- Twila ticked off allot of people IN THE GAME! And women never forget what other women do or say to ticked them off ;) Twila was *dune in* with the swearing she did using her son's name too. Chris wasn't found out about till well after the game was done, they were still pretty clueless even at the time of voting what he was up to with playing them... what he did was play the game! And that is hard for women to do --- they get very emotionally caught up. I was glad to see He won! He played a good game & that's is what the show is about. And he really worked those ladies!! Impressive (!) I thought... I just wish that somone from the ladies would have caught on sooner and played the game too. I think that Scout (out of all the women) had Chris pegged all along but was very quiet about it... too quiet! Chris from Ohio you know - works for ODOT... and is a biker (note the pony-tail --- yuk!) I don't mind at all that he enjoys motorcycles, but I dont like pony-tails on men (just me ;) ). He said the first thing he was going to purchase was a new motorcycle (knew that) and then donate $$ to kids in need & then help out his family financially and he & his girl are planning for their wedding. Always a interesting show...

*~*~*

Okay... I really must be going now - I have lots to get done today... and so little time.

*God Bless!*

Hi again!

Adorable picture MKay!!! Love it!!! Too bad it wasn't a bit larger as you stated... love the poses!

Hi Michele, Wonderful to hear that Doug and you are getting on so well  I am just so happy for you!! :goodvibes

But I totally know what you are saying about the *stress* of trying to get things finished in time... you'll do it and if it doesn't get done - it's not the end of the world ;) As I tell you... I also am reminding myself of that! :smug:

Hope you get stay well! :grouphug: Don't do what I did & get sick! It doesn't help that the weather is so cold and cloudy either --- women are very senitive to the changes in weather. Getting that sleep is very important - good for you!!!

Now I really must be going... :dizzy:
Loves,
Donna

Sunny-
I get what you are saying...and yes, he "play" the game well. I am just a relational person and it appears as "using" people. But...I guess that's what the game is about...strategy. I'm not a good candidate for that game. I will be focusing on the Bachelorette in January. She's the gal who broke up with Andrew Firestone a while back.

Mitchy-
Aww, girlfriend...you'll get it all done...just go slow and sure and before you know it, the holidays will be over, you and Doug will be a hot item and so on. Have you been feeling any better?

Sunny- You feeling better today?

DH's birthday on Thursday...the big 50. I will take him to dinner and I want to get him his flag for the front yard flag pole. They're pricey.

Well, gotta jet...don't know why...there's no work for me to do...all caught up and no meetings until January.

It is a dinner and song evening (she will play piano) to raise money for the high school soccer and softball teams. I have stew beef in the pan now cooking for chili colorado burritos on Wed.

Weather has been super here all week...in the 70's...still wondering why we May move to an area where it is in the 30's most of the winter!! Not too smart I guess!

Well I guess I have to break the tie between Chris and Twila on Survivor between us 3FC friends..SUNNY I agree with MKAY on Twila....I was for Chris too until the end...I know some of it came known to the jury after the fact but I was really pulling for Twila at the end!! Oh well, 100 G's isn't bad either!!

Loved the "tiny" picture MKAY...wish I could have seen it  A few years back I could have!!

SUNNY.. I hope you are feeling better by now! I know I will be going to MISS my family in a few years at Christmas if we move...although my mom and sister won't be here for the first time ever since they went back to Illinois to be with my grandma.

Old Dog Comes By For A Nap
One afternoon, a woman was in her back yard hanging the laundry when an old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. The woman could tell from the dog's collar and well-fed belly that he had a home. But when she walked into the house, the dog followed her, sauntered down the hall and fell asleep in a corner.

An hour later, he went to the door, and the woman let him out.
The next day the dog was back. He resumed his position in the hallway and slept for an hour. This continued for several weeks.

Curious, the woman pinned a note to his collar: "Every afternoon, your dog comes to my house for a nap."

The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar:
"We have ten children. He's trying to catch up on his sleep."

Mitchy- You collect Boyd's Bears? A lady at church the other day questioned if anyone knew anyone who collected them. She wants to get rid of hers. Let me know if there is an interest.

Wilma- Cute story. How is the remodeling coming along? Kitchen?

Most of the cabinets are in. DH has to install shelves in my new pantry and then I can unpack the boxes. The floor is laid and looks lovely. I know that when this is all finished I'm going to love it. It's already warm and cozy. I'll send pics as soon as I can.

I wish I had more time to post but my time is very rare these days. Very soon though.

Have a great day.

Mkay~YES! YES! I'm interested! I collect the figurines and the plush bears, etc. Does she have an inventory of what she has and what she wants to sell them for? PM me if you don't mind.

I didn't go to work yesterday. I needed a mental health day! :o :^: I woke up not feeling well and i truly think it's stress, so i called in sick and then i got a bunch of stuff done at the house and i feel much better today. I worked hard but i was also conscious of my back. Tonight i get my hair done, tomorrow is PT and Doug is here Friday night! I'm looking forward to it.

More later, maybe at lunch. Prayers for all!

:?: New here today and do not know where this forum starts other that this messsage that is from November. How do I find the start for newest posts? Have been quite ill and closed in for several weeks. I had visited here many months ago and decided that with all the weight I have gained I need help and support, as the will to diet is there but the "willpower" is sitting there saying Hmmmmm!

 Hello, I am BleuSox and have come to join in the process of becoming a better me.

Hello and Welcome to Bleu Sox... I hope you come back and post often.

Today's the day! He's here this evening. We're going right from the airport to our special dinner at Manny's! Tomorrow I have to work, then we're going shopping and then it's the company Christmas party at my boss's house. She has such a nice place, very ornately decorated. She even does house tours, it's so beautiful. Then Sunday is church and we were invited also to a brunch at a couple's house i know from Alpha. Then we'll ding around, go shopping and have our carriage ride and dinner at the Apple Farm. But it's suppose to be REALLY cold, like 20 below possible on Sunday! BBBBRRRRR!

I had my hair done thursday and i had a light pink streak weaved in, just for fun. It's going to be a pink weekend.

Still don't know how i'm going to get everything done before leaving for CA, but it'll work out. I've been reading this little book by Joyce Meyers re: worrying and the thing that hit me was she said, "Worrying is the opposite of faith". It's so true when you think of it, so i'm trying to let go and let God.

Have a great day!

Hi All!

Well, it's the weekend and I only have a bit more shopping to do. Actually, I didn't have much in the first place...I've been procrastinating. I'm also still in a depressed funk. We still owe lots of monies to the tax man and our property taxes and the attorney and ohhhhhhhh it does not look good. DH keeps saying, "I'll have it this week." He's been saying that for over a year on lots of stuff. Ohhhhhhh I'm so tired of hearing him. Ohhhhhhhh I'm so tired of not believing him. Ohhhhhhhh well. Just a little responsibility on his part would be nice.

DH's b-day was yesterday. We nit picked at each other most of the evening (mostly during the movie and afterward). Being off the prozac, some of the things he does/says just drive me nuts. I really could just cry.

Anyway, our potluck is today at work. So far today for snackies I've eaten veggies and some dip (not tons) and some raw peanuts. I "intend" to NOT have any desserts today, I'm trying for meat and veggies and I may have a tater casserole. Anyway, I also think the depressing feeling is from withdrawing from sugar. Why can't I just look up and be thankful. I'm struggling.

Tonight I'm going to clean my house and do all the laundry and just keep going. Saturday I have to clean Mom and Dad's and then go to Shepherd's. Saturday night I plan to veg I guess. DH will probably work on his vehicle that's out of service and Sunday is church and then nothing.

Mitchy- Wow! Big plans this weekend. Pink huh? I love pink. With your hair color, pink will be absoutely feminine and girly and lovely on you. Have fun...and be safe whatever you do.

The rest of you...Bye and have a fun weekend!

Just popping in to say hi!

Working a lot right now and trying to shop, wrap, and decorate in between working. So right after this message I am off to a full day of work. Sunday we are taking the grandkids to see the lights at the botanical gardens on the ocean. They have hundreds of thousands of lights in there and it is a huge attraction. My eating has been pretty much out of control, too much going on for me to worry about it right now. Gonna get back on track after the holidays. My plan of attack is that by the holidays next year I will have one year under my belt and about 50 lbs gone and I will not want to gain all that back for sure. I am still down 16 lbs. and do not intend to gain anymore than what I am right now.

Wilma, will the kitchen be done for Christmas? :^:

Michele: Everyday is a mental health day for me lately. Holidays are the worst. I just try to get through them in one piece.

Mkay, hope the money issues are over with soon. I know how stressful that can be and it is very very stressful on a marriage.

Gary, I am a Jets fan and they are doing pretty well this year. My dh is a Steelers fan and they are doing even better, beat the Jets last week. I watched the game at work and he watched it at home, too dangerous for us to watch it together. One advantage to living in Oregon, we don't have a football team so we can pick whoever we want. My bil is a diehard Raiders fan.

Sunny, sounds like you are staying plenty busy too.

Will check in again when I have some time. Don't you all love the new smileys.

:merry:

HI GALS :D

I am off today from work, I worked all week-end and now nothing to do...ah shucks ;)
The weather here has been gorgeous...in the low 70's during the day. Everyone here is off for the Christmas break from school, Angie out walking the puppies, son out golfing, step-d at soccer match, daughter coming over soon if she doesn't go to her condo to "move in''...she is spending her last semester at her boyfriend's grandmas' condo. He and his buddies have been there for a few years, he is done with school this semester and is coming back home with his parents, my kiddo and her friend are taking his old spot in the condo...the boyfriend's grandma isn't charging her so this saves Angie, my ex and myself about $4,000 in room money!!! YIPEE!!! Amanda and Zac moved her stuff from her campus condo into the grandmas condo garage on Friday but need to move Zac's stuff back home to make room for Amanda's stuff. Oh, the grandma just owns the condo, she doesn't live there...how could she will all that ENERGY going around there...all play tennis at school..plus the "sweaty stink!" Nephew Ron at his mom's for a few days...recent progress report had him with 2 A's 4 B's and 1 C...pretty good for him...but his MOUTH!! is still working  OVERTIME!!! in class(es).

BUNNA Well your JETS did well this week-end! I just love Chad Pennington! I saw him play against my RAIDERS last year and was VERY impressed! Even though I am a RAIDER fan my favorite player is Peyton Manning...Chad would be a canidate if I hadn't already chosen Peyton years ago (based on his CLASS...staying at Tennessee for his final year of college to honor his schlorship!) rare these days. Good for you bil and OUR RAIDERS..we finally won another one. Boy your husband must be pleased with BEN and the STEELERS! Hope you had a great time at the garden with the g-kids.

MKAY Boy do I ever remember days when I was in business and $$$ was TIGHT!!! or non-existent! I totally understand what you are going through. $$$$ causes...er at least enhances problems doesn't it!! So sad we can't seperate what is REALLY important sometimes with $$$ issues. I know one thing that helped me in the "picking" game, was to NO MATTER WHAT was going on or being said...I would try to TOTALLY focus on something that I did or once did enjoy or admire about my wife (ex)...sometimes when she was on me about something I would just look at her hands and think that these were the hands that have been holding our children...helped me to get through the "moment". Prayers for you and dh. Keep focusing FORWARD.

BLUESOX Welcome.

MICHELE Hope all is well with your Doug visit. 20 below...brrr!! I have been working in San Dimas (close to your "home" isn't it?) last week it was absolutely gorgeous!! couldn't have asked for better weather. Hope it stays good for your visit out here.

WILMA CABINETS IN? !!!! and the floor!! YEA for you and the family...are you teaching the soon to be dil the tricks on Christmas cookies :D

SUNNYD Well our local CHARGERS..boo...whipped up on your sad BROWNS yesterday didn't they....the BROWNS almost..ALMOST...make my RAIDERS look good  I hope this finds you and Joe doing well...are you singing at church? Angie is in the bell choir for the Christmas Eve 10 o'clock service..we will have family and friends at the house for dinner (cold cuts and soup) earlier in the evening.

Well HI to everyone else, my daughter just got here so off I go to visit with her.

Be back later this week......enjoy your shopping!....I always enjoy shopping!! ...Angie does it for me!! She even picked up some sexy black boots to go with her skirts FROM ME TO HER for Christmas :)~~Gary

Here it is...a three-day work week anyway, and I've been home sick for two of the three days. I got a cold from hell. Since I usually don't do over-the-counter meds at night due to the fact that they keep me awake I did take a couple sudafeds today, then showered and now I don't feel that face pressure. Whew!

Mitchy...I'm happy for you. Scary though isn't it? I pray you have a safe trip to CA and bring me back some warm air. The ring is quite pretty.

EZ...yeah, $$$. DH and I got into an enormous argument the other night and after I screamed and yelled and lost control, I finally told him to get responsible and that I am neglected in all aspects of our marriage and that I can't handle all the $$ issues alone. I slept in the bedroom in the basement. Actually, for coming down with the crud, I slept quite well. Then to my astonishment, I got up and there on the cedar chest was a cup of coffee in one of our "I Still Do" mugs. Hey, if that's his way of being accountable and making up...I'LL TAKE IT!!! I did thank him for the gesture and told him that I appreciated it. I think we are both learning...after 6.5 years, I hope so.

BlueSox...what happened? Did I scare you away?

All...Have a blessed Christmas and may it be filled with the acknowledgement of Christ and His birth. Thank you all for all you do for each ot
