GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

My day is starting very early:tired: Will be on later this afternoon - PROMISE! Until then, here's the
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY thoughts for you all to start the week with - I like the second one on a personal note :)

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

YOUR EXPECTATIONS

Your expectations can make things more difficult than they would otherwise be. Or they can make things go better than they would otherwise go.
Much depends on what you expect. Positive expectations often pave the way for positive experiences.

Other people pick up on your expectations and, more often than not, will act in accordance with them. So it pays to expect the best of others.

The person most influenced by your expectations is you. When you genuinely expect the best of yourself, something inside you will do everything possible to deliver.

The great thing is, your expectations are yours to decide. No complex skills or scarce resources are needed in order for you to expect the best of yourself, of others, of this day and this moment.

Your expectations set the range within which your reality operates. Expect the best, and you greatly increase your chances of getting it.

-- Ralph Marston

*******************

CHANGES BUILD YOU

Take on a difficult challenge and bring yourself fully to life. Whatever the challenge demands from you, it also gives in even greater measure.

For when you step forward to meet a challenge, you connect with the best you have. As you work through the challenge, whatever strength and ability you possess grows even stronger.

There is treasure contained in each challenge you face. Your effort and persistence forge the path to that treasure.

Often you'll work through a difficult challenge only to be met with an even greater one. Rather than curse the unfairness of it all, stop and consider how fortunate you are.

For the first challenge has well prepared you for the next. And the next challenge will take you where previously you never could have dared to imagine.

As the challenges come, let them build you. And the richness of life grows and grows.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

Good Morning! Monet slept like a log last night! Hooray! Why didn't I think to turn on my electric mattress pad before last night? I put it on kind of high and woke up this morning with most of the swelling gone and having slept for like four hours at a time instead of just 1.5!

My friend/neighbor/massage therapist is coming over for breakfast this morning. She is really busy and this was the only time we could find to get together. It works for me! I am always up this early, and I need to eat! :)

I hopped on the scale...down another pound or so. Not going to count it until Wednesday though.

I will be back later to hopefully find some posts to respond to!

Good Morning Ladies

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to jump feet first into this week. I know I am. I had a long talk with myself and I am entering this week with a renewed spirit and determination and strong will.

Monet, glad you slept so well last night. I haven't plugged in my mattress pad yet. I do love that thing, but a little concerned about the hot flashes during the night. If I use the matress pad I may never get cooled down. Enjoy your breakfast.

I'm off to read what I missed over the weekend. Be back later. Have a great OP day.

Miss Belle has decided to climb into my arms for a snuggle--purr. I love thid so I'm typing one handed.

Since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and since we have a lot of new folks on the board, I thought we might begin to share our strategies for an OP Thanksgiving. I'm on record that Thanksgiving is one of the easiest holidays to stay OP since the main attraction--TURKEY--is completely legal! I make my dressing out of WW bread (Tear it and dry it out in a 200 degree oven a day or two before and use it just like you would any other bread--season to taste, add a little celery, moisten with a touch of butter and some turkey broth and you are good to go! I add oysters to miine--YUM!). The key is to made yourself a dessert that you can eat. I make an apple pie with a WW crust. Monet's piecrust recipe is my favorite (It's on the recipe board) and I use the pie filling recipe on the Spenda boxes.

How about everyone else?

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! That means Christmas is just around the corner and that's the hard one for me--everyone is pushing sweets at you at every turn!

Have a great OP day everyone!

Good morning...

We had a cool night and I know we were below freezing. I am glad to see the sun this morning. I just had my breakfast and had some housework to be done today, yea, not very exciting :)

I will have to go back to re-read some of the posts that were posted the last weekend and will come back to do some replies later. In the meantime, here is my menu :

Breakfast : 1 piece of small leftover ww pancake, 1.5 scrambled eggs with cheese. Few sips of dd's chocolate milk (I was dying for some chocolate milk this morning....lol).

Snack : Fruit salad.

Lunch : Baked marinated salmon (Teensy's recipe but not sure if I get it exactly but close enough...lol), brown rice pilaf (with veggies) and a salad (thinking of cucumber salad)

Snack : Fruit salad and nuts.

Dinner : Not sure yet.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning:

Where do I start? Hmmmm....well, we did not end up going out to dinner for our Anniversary. I didn't feel comfortable leaving Britt with anyone since she wasn't feeling well. I also didn't feel right exposing someone to her germs. Her fever got over 105 on Friday and she was so tired, she would just fall asleep wherever she laid down. She kept an ongoing fever all weekend and the sickness turned into a chest cold. She was pretty miserable. Her fever broke this morning (actually below normal), so I sent her on to school. I hope the fever is officially gone, and I don't get a call to go get her. Delaney's ear infection appears to be cleared up, and she will finish the rest of her antibiotic this morning. I feel a little bit of tightness in my chest, but hope to not get this crud. I did bring home 15 beautiful roses with babies breath for my DH on Saturday, and he bought me a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers and a big rose balloon. So, it was a nice day anyway.

I did get up at 4 a.m. to go to the gym this morning since I won't be able to go this afternoon. I am supposed to volunteer in Britt's class for awhile helping the kids with reading. One of the moms in her class is going to watch Lane for me in return for me watching her kids when she volunteers next week. We may make a regular thing of this, so I would be going to the gym early on Mondays a few times a month.

Has anyone seen or heard about the movie Polar Express? I am not sure if it is appropriate for Britt's age (6 yrs old). I think it sounds good, but not sure what the exact plot of the storyline is???? It is showing at the Imax here, and would be fun to go see on the huge screen.

Sebray: Welcome aboard. Do you regularly get 12-13 hours sleep per night? Gheez, that could be causing the insomnia ;) . If I get anymore than 7 hours a night, I am no good. I function better on 6-8 hours of sleep, and am tired all day if I get more sleep than that. In order to get 12 hours of sleep, I'd have to go to bed at 6 p.m., that's 2 hours before my kids (ha). Good luck to you with this woe/wol. It is a tough time of year to get started, so I have to commend you there.

Bride: The sooner you step on that treadmill, the sooner you will be getting into a regular routine of it. It feels so good and invigorating once you get going that you will be motivated to keep going. JUST DO IT! That's a Nike commercial, right?

Monet: Glad you got a good night's rest. I'm sure the heated blanket helped a lot. I have a cherry-pit and corn filled pillow, and when it is that dreaded TOM, I heat them both up and put one on my abdomen and one on my lower back when I go to bed; it helps tremendously with the pain and bloating. You'll be back on track soon.

Jack-K: You go girl.

Fillise: Great idea to share ideas for the newbies. NEWBIES....PLUG YOUR EARS.....I'd like to share my ideas, but I don't have any plans to be OP for Thanksgiving. It will be a free day for me to enjoy those foods that I only get to eat one time of year. I will not go overboard, and I will eat everything in moderation. But, I will eat everything I want for dinner and I will eat what I want for dessert. I will then send the desserts home with everyone else, and jump right back on plan on Friday morning. This has a lot to do with me being at my goal weight too. I'll probably even go to the gym early on Friday since DH is off work. The key is moderation and being able to jump back on track instead of letting this one day derail you for days/weeks/months.

Ken: Howdy!!! Is Jess feeling better today? How are you feeling; are you staying well?

Gotta run; Lane needs me.

Take care and have a great OP day.

Alright, back to catch up before I start to do my housework :)

COUNTRY : Your latest pic looks different from the one you posted a while back. You now have long hair..lol. You look great as usual. I am feeling better. I know my body is fighting the cold pretty well since I didn't get it bad at all. Hope you have a nice day today :)

OMISOLGAL : Welcome!! This is an awesome board and we have people with different kinds of experience and stories, so please ask away and I am sure someone will be able to help you with any uncertainty you might have. Glad you are here!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

FRUIT : Not a role model? Think again. You are still here even when things don't go as well and I praise you for that. You could have given up but you didn't. So, that itself is a good role model, don't you think??

MONET : I know the antibiotic won't help my cold infact I think it weaken my immune system so I am more prone to colds etc. I am still taking the acidophilis (sp?) tablets and it must be working well. It has been 3 weeks since I finished the diflucan pills and has yet to feel any yeast coming back. Ahhhh...so nice :) I am feeling much better already. Glad you slept good last night. Yea to the mattress pad!

SEBRAY : You actually sleep for 12 to 13 hours normally? Can you stay asleep for that long or do you wake up in the middle of the night? I usually get about 7 hours or sometimes 6, which is my own fault. If I get 7 hours, I feel very good the next day. Sometimes I get lazy too and ended up eating anything that is easy. Carbs alone usually doesn't last long in my tummy and like you, I would be trying to find something to eat in 2 hours. So, I can relate to your day yesterday.

BOB : Thanks for the movie tips, I do have a lot of movies to catch up...now add 3 more to my list...lol. Thanks for your encouragement on my driving test. I am going to stay calm when the time comes...hopefully :) I am feeling much better already...dd is definitely taking the cold harder than me but she is getting better too.

DIANE : Don't feel bad about the treadmill, you are not the only one who find it hard to exercise. I bought a exercise bike last year and still struggling to ride on it. I am still trying though...lol. Hey, yard work is a good exercise too :) WTG, you did very well at the auction dinner. I am so proud of you too. Oh, pigging out on salads are actually good...lol.

HEART : Sorry to hear about Boogie's wrist. That sounds scary. I bet it hurts you more than it hurts him...lol. I know you can do better with your eating this week...you can do it!!

FILLISE : Great TG strategy!! I am not sure if I will be cooking since we might join my neighbor for TG dinner. It has been like that the last 2 years.

JACK-K : I know you will will bounce back even stronger, you can do it!

DEB : Thanks for starting the board again. Hope you have a nice day!

I am all caught up with the posts so I am going to do some cleaning now...hopefully...lol. Good day!

PANCHO : We must be posting around the same time. I am sorry you had to cancel your anniversary plan but make sure you rearrange it for another day when the girls are feeling better. I am glad Britt is feeling better today and hope she continues to get better. Jess is better much better. Her cough is gone except with a little runny nose now. I am doing good too. Thanks for checking on us.

thanks for the welcomes....no i dont usually sleep 12-13 hours lol sorry if i gave that impression...i have cycles of insomnia...have all my life.....where i cant sleep at all so im up 2 days at a time untill my body just crashes.....and then ill sleep for about 5 hours and get up and do it all over again...then after about a month of that ill start going to bed at normal hours (10pm and get up at 6am) but if im more then 30 mins late getting to bed my body wont let me get up at 6....that is when i sleep close to 12 hours....my body's way of trying to catch up on the sleep it missed when i have my insomnia cycle i suppose....as long as i try to keep a normal schedual when i *am* sleeping then im fine...but if i deviate from that in the slightest my body rebels big time :(

well im off to make that spinach and cheese omlet that i was going to have for breakfast yesterday....lol .... i sweet talked kevin into cleaning the skillet for me today :D

I was hungry so I thought I would come here first and see if it passes.

OK how did you all get those cute little tickers on the bottom of your page. I went to the site and did one, but not sure how to get it to show on here and how does it change?

Susan, I'm so glad you said something. I was just thinking hte other day about when I first came here it was all about how to stay op and especially thru the holidays. Recipes were posted all the time. i know I need the hlep this year and I'm sure there are others like me. I agree TG is easy to stay OP. I am going to whole Foods to find some ww pie crusts. I am in charge of taking the snacks TG to my sisters. That is easy too. Veggie tray, fruit trays, legal taco salad. WW tortilla roll-ups. There are lots of things to do if you put your mind to it.

Julia, it was 32 here today, but warming up to 60 this afternoon. I'm not ready for this cold weather. Have a great day.

nat, so sorry your anniversay date was cancelled. Glad Britt is better. That is a pretty high fever. I don't think my DH would appreciate flowers. Mainly, b/c he never sends me any. he would rather have cologne or something like that.

Sebray, Welcome. This is a great place. We have made such good friends here along with dieting support.

Since we are giving tips and things. I found some Hickory farms party Bites. They are little beef sausage bites, like the beef stcisk. They come is spicy and regular. I love the spicy, they are hot. Helps you get the water in too. Try them.

Afternoon everyone! I just got an annoying caller at the front door. He claimed to be working for the phone company and wanted to make sure we were getting all our 'discounts'. When he asked for my phone number, he lost it with me. I told him sorry, but I was not going to give it to him and I did not know anything about the phone bill, my husband handled that. I guess what irritated me was when I told him I was recovering from surgery, hoping he would get the idea and leave, he asked me what kind of surgery I had! I was so stunned, I actually told him, but I really wish I had said 'sex change'. ;)

I am thinking of making some chocolate chip cookies with ww flour and granulated fructose for my hubby. He loves cookies, and has been hinting... I am not sure if I am up to it, and there is no one home to lift the mixer out of the cabinet for me and onto the counter. Guess I will have to wait. I could use the food processor...though maybe not. decisions, decisions...

PANCHO: Wow..I would have been freaking out with a child with a 105 fever! I am so glad it has broken and she is doing better. I am sorry you had to cancel your anniversary plans...I hope you can go out on a belated date for it...

FILLISE: Great idea! I stay legal on Thanksgiving fairly well, but no one here will eat turkey so we will have a beef roast, Yorkshire pudding made with ww flour, and other trimmings...Erik is making ww, splenda sweetened pumpkin pies. Maybe, if we are lucky, he will make his SB legal ultra chocolatey mousse pie. Its honestly good enough to die for! ;)

JACK: Pie crust is easy, so if you can't find it at whole foods, check out the recipe on the recipe boards. The recipe I use is very easy to make, and tastes delicious! Just ask Fillise!

KENG: The weather is glorious today, isn't it? I am glad the Diflucan worked for you for the yeast. My problems with yeast seem to be diminishing. I am relieved. It was getting to be a pain!

Hi everybody - No replies today, I'm swamped until the end of the week, but I do read and sympathize. Went off plan this weekend when dd bought a big bag of tortilla chips. Ate my share and how, and again as with the Halloween candy it made me feel sick to my stomach. This is a great deterrent, I have very little desire for junk food lately. Nowadays when I go off plan it means I am eating a banana or a baked potato. I know these things are not legal, but I don't believe eating a banana is cutting years off my life - and lately I much prefer these cheats to candy bars or french fries. This plan may eventually work for me.

So back to work i go - Ruby

I had a great lunch today, oh so satisying..lol. I love it when I am eating healthy and feel so satisfying at the same time. Yum! Few more replies :

SEBRAY : Thanks for clarifying your insomnia issue. Wow...you really have to be very discipline if you don't want to crash isn't it? {{hugs}} How's your yummy breakfast> Sounds great to me!

JACK-K : I believe we will be around 60's as well. I love it! It really feels like holidays are around the corner :) Hope you have a great day too :)

MONET : The caller is scary and very dangerous for you to open the door to him. My dh always warn me against opening door to strangers especially when he is not at home. Sometimes I still do...lol. Okay, I need to remind myself not to unless I am told in advance that I am expecting someone. I am glad he finally went away. You are a hoot, sex change!!??? ROTFLOL!! We love you just the way you are :)

RUBY : Glad to see you!! Looks like you are doing fine to me. I have certain illegal foods that I eat once in a while and in a small amount. That really keeps me from bursting and then go on binging spree. I am not talking about cookies or candies or cakes, just some red potatoes, or a banana and ocassionally pizza. I am going to try making ww pizza one of these days though. One matters to be most is what I eat most of the days and that has work for me. Whatever that works for you and your body, that's what matters. You are doing great!

KENG: I don't worry much about these sales people who come to my door. Sometimes, I just don't answer the door. I did not trust him when he asked for my phone number....he acted like he was sent by Bellsouth, so if he was, he should have had that info. I will laugh if he comes back in the evening when my husband is here. He has NO patience for sales people at all. Unless they are young college students selling books. He did that one summer, and is sympathetic. Otherwise, he is NOT!

RUBY: I occasionally have a baked potato or a banana. I figure it is better than loading up on sweets, and it does keep me from going off the deep end. If I stop losing again, I may rethink this. Others who have done SB have said that having green tipped bananas did not keep them from losing. I guess you just keep an eye on it and see....

Hi everyone! Just posting my menu. I think that's a nice aspect of this board for me is to keep me honest with posting what I eat like a diary! Of course, I was bad this weekend. Well, my husband was making me bad by offering to pick up pizza for us for dinner since we had my daughter's friend over. And then on Sunday, he said he wanted my chicken breast I had out to be cut up and breaded in finger form...with tater tots! But THATS IT!! The nice thing about this diet is that when I go off the wagon, I don't think it's making the diet a waste of time, because I'm eating delicious food that's truly good for me.

But, I've started fresh today and I really mean it!! I'm not falling off the wagon again!

TODAY

Breakfast:
2 poached eggs
2 small slices of 7-grain bread, toasted
1/4 cantaloupe
coffee

Snack:
kiwi

Lunch:
Turkey with swiss on pumpernickel
1/2 orange
1/2 apple
water

Dinner:
I have a real question here...are those wraps from Subway that are Atkins friendly okay? We had a dentist appointment at 4pm and then my daughter's skating lesson at 5:15, so we ate at Subway and I thought I was being good with a low-carb wrap, but felt like I was being bad while eating it. I only let her put a tiny bit of the dressing/sauce on it. I know that low carb doesn't necessarily mean low sugar, but I figured it was a better choice than a sub with a big fluffy bun. Or worse, McDonalds! :o I had diet soda with it.

I had another question as to if something was okay on the diet, but I forgot what it was now. I'll ask when I remember it.

Okay, that's it for now...I'll start responding to everyone's personal chatter once I get to know everyone better.. :^:

OH! I remebered...what about granola bars? My dad (the diabetic) has one every day at 2pm (whether he wants it or not!). Are they off limits?

OH! And POPCORN! I think I just answered my own question with the subword 'corn'. Off limits, isn't it?

Well, back to putting the kids to bed...

Techwife...

Well, I started the week off on a huge sour note! Eating was TERRIBLE today! I have got to get a grip!! DH has been doing great with his eating and making it seem like little or virtually no effort and I've been struggling and doing horrific! Man, I'm actually thinking about diet pills and you guys know how I do not believe in taking them. Well, I don't have much to say, feeling discouraged and fat. Oh yea, Boogie hasn't got his cast on yet. He has a 9 am appt in the morning. Hoping he acts alright...alright, gotta go..

Evening! I made the cookies...they need a bit of tweaking, but not too bad! I like crisp cookies, and it seems ww and agave always produces cakey cookies. Yuck!

We went to Wally World tonight to get three items that are hard to find elsewhere. I HATE Wally world. I hate it! We were there at about 8:30 and the people in there with screaming kids...oh my! I could not wait to get out of there!

Its time for bed, and I am hoping I can sleep as well as I did last night. Sweet dreams everyone!

YAY Im not alone!!!!! :D sounds like yesterday was the day for bad eating for everyone....and here i thought i was the only one who fell of the wagon (and my wagon hasnt even started gassing up yet  ) ... we had to go into the city last night after i came home from class and kevin *made* me go with him...even though that ment we wouldnt get home till after 8 (which would mean a really late dinner for the kids :( ) so i told him the only way i was going was if he bought pizza...he looked at me like i lost my mind, but he has no willpower so of course he agreed lol....so i had 2 pieces of cheese and mushroom pizza....and half a glass of pepsi...and woke up this morning with wicked heartburn....serves me right huh lol .... i still feel bloated lol....but i managed to get to sleep before 10:30 so im feeling full of energy....but STARVING!!! lol this is so weird...im not used to being hungrey until lunch time....so i must find something to eat....perhaps ill have a salad for breakfast....hmmmm...

OH and a ? for everyone...is itallian dressing legal (i cant remember seeing it in the book) and if not is there a way to MAKE it legal??? *crosses fingers and prays* cause thats the only dressing i like lol...im using sunflower oil in it now ... but i use the dry pack to mix my own dressing...any ideas i would welcome with open arms...i think id break down and cry if i couldnt have it anymore lol....and where can i find agave??? i hear everyone talking about it but i havent seen it before.

one last note before i go eat....does anyone know if arsnic (the rat poison) has a taste to it? or could i add it to kevin's salads without him noticing??? im kidding im kidding  although after days like yesterday i wonder how quickly i could hog tie him with some duct tape ;)

MONET: sorry to hear about ur experience at walmart....(((hugs))) i hate going there with my kids (for obvious reasons lol) and i know what u mean about the crying kids....seems like everywhere i go parents have their kids out at all hours of the night even though the kids are obiviously tired....

ill check back later

Good Morning! I slept fairly well again. This mattress pad thing has made me so happy, I could cry!

SEBRAY: Arsenic? Oh, no! A bit of dish detergent is much more fun! The arsenic will make him puke, and you would have to clean it up! The detergent will just give him nasty diarrhea! ;)

Darn I posted yesterday and my post is gone. What could have happened to it? I'll try again but won't make indivial posts cause I don't know what will happen to this one. Eating has been horrible!!! Hopeing today is a new day and I'll get back OP. Welcome to all the new people. This is great. Its really good to see you at Sugar Busters. I'm with Jack-K, got to have a plan for Thanksgiving. I'm also going to do the ww pie crust and try to make ww dressing this year. I got a cranberry sauce recipe off of the food channel that uses splenda. And I'll be making a legal fruit salad too. Hopefully this Friday I can get most of my stuff. I walked yesterday and will this morning to if it doesn't rain. Well guess I'd better finish my coffee and go get dressed..... Have a good day..

Sebray: You sound just like me with the pizza! I'm thinking...I'll just get out George Foreman and grill myself some chicken breast and make a fruit salad or something...then I had to go pick up the pizza and smell it all the way home! And then I opened the wings that came with it with Hawaiian sauce (including the dreaded pineapple!) Then the very next night, with the tater tots. You know, my husband did the Atkins Diet with me both times and was right with me with the rules. But every time we sat down to eat anything, he'd say "you know, I just don't see what's wrong with having some fruit! There's nothing wrong with grapes and bread and things!" But on Atkins, they are absolute missiles that will kill your ketosis. That's why I thought the Sugar Busters diet was so do-able for us, but he keeps sabotaging me!!

Anyhow, today's another day. I noticed your weight loss ticker. If I had one, it would be exactly like mine! I need to go from 180 to 130, also! Where do you get the tickers? I'd like to have one, too...

Well, back to the kitchen to start up the works for my morning poached eggs on toast and fruit.

OK lets all put some sort of spell on the board so whatever got onto this board yesterday and made everyone eat so horribly will disappear quickly.

Today is a new day and a new start. We can do it.

Actually, my eating was great yesterday, now to continue it.
I also got in my 3 mile walk last night too.

BF: 1/2 grapefruit, 1/2 english muffin (in a minute), coffee.
Lunch, chili (all legal), applie
Dinner, roast with onions, mushrooms and 2 more veggies.

My RA is really flaring yesterday and today. My skin actually hurt yesterday. I couldn't touch any part of my body w/o it hurting. The hot tub didn't seem to help any either. About 2:00 am I woke up and my left hand was almost stiff. I could hardly move it and it really hurt. Especially at my wrist. I guess it is the RA. who knows any more. I sure don't want to think about it being anything else. I go to see the Rheumatologist next Monday. it willbe the first time since all this bc stuff started. Hopefully we will be able to get this under control soon.

Monet, you were smart not giving that man your number. Be careful, they can be so pushy. So glad that matress pad is working for you.

Ruby, now the key is to remember that junk makes you sick BEFORE you eat it. It is hard for me to believe that bananas and pineapple are bad for you too.

Tech wife, the next time DH wants tater tots fix them for him and fix you something else, like a salad. I think those wraps are legal but probably count as 2 starches. So you need to watch how many starches you have in a day. Your menu looks good but you need to add some veggies.

Heartmom, Now don't go the diet pill route. You know that is not a good thing. You just need to get your head on straight. You have done so great to turn back now. Get rid of that junk in the house and it won't be there for yout o eat. The kids don't need junk either. Hope the casting goes ok. He will like all the attention he will get once he gets in on.

Sebray, you can always just eat the toppings off the pizza. Add a salad and you have a meal. I know it is hard to do that, but an idea. Watch for the sugar in the Italian dressings. If not more than 3 per serving, it is ok. I believe Paul Newman's makes one that is really good.

Toni, sounds like a plan for TG. Let's make a pack to eat legal until then. I know we can do it.

Well, now that I have paid my bills and been on here, I had better start some work. Be back later.

Techwife, we were posting at the same time. Ask your DH to help you with this. I always tell my DH not to let me eat something. He usually does it. Go to tickerfactory.com for the ticker. I found it but have not figured out how to get it on here yet.

Thanks, Jack-K. I see you're on the 100+ club! Did you loose all that on Sugar Busters? How long did it take? I'm not so much looking for fast weight loss (well, it would be nice) but at least a downward trend. I think that one pound a week or so sounds so slow, but I think, if I were putting on one pound a week it would seem to add up faster and faster.

You're right, I do need to add some veggies and I admit to not being a large fan of veggies. Fruit is so much easier to pick up from the basket and munch on or just cut up, but veggies usually require the steamer or something and require preparation. So, I usually stick to eating them with dinner. Maybe I'll start adding some lettuce on my sandwich at lunch with some cucumber slices.

Another thought is I need to excercise. I went for a walk on Saturday to get the mail (we have to go to the post office which is about 3/4 mile away) and it was about 25 degrees out. I love to walk in the cold, but I'm a stay at home mom and my son (3 almost 4) complains about the cold. Well, in my defense, it went from a rather mild and beautiful fall to really freaking cold in about two days...no time for my "North Country Blood" to kick in. It gets sooooo cold here in the winter...not uncommon for the temp to be -30 when I take my daughter to school in the morning...not windchill, just the temp. Add in a slight breeze and the windchill gets downright dangerous. So, when it's that cold, 25 degrees above zero is like a heatwave!! Anyhow, I need to stop with any excuses and get out and excercise today! I'm starting with me and my son finally planting some tulip bulbs before I need a jack hammer to dig the whole. It's supposed to be in the upper 40's today, so it should be good. Should have done this task in September, but kept putting it off... Then we'll walk to pick up big sister at school which is a half mile away. I was walking to pick her up every day until the temp went so cold so fast. I also have a great walking route that I used quite often until my son started to boycott his stroller. We live 3 miles from a very beautiful light house and the route goes right along the river bank. Well, it was such a great fall and the leaves were so wonderful, I'd put on my sweats and walk allthe way to the lighthouse, but then my son started getting antsy and then it got cooler and too breezy and he'd get cold...and it's a bit far to ask a three year old to walk along with me, so I started using the exercise bike while he watched Blues Clues, and I blew out a bearing on the bike. So, I think if I walk to the post office everyday and then swing around to get my daughter from school it'll be a nice mile and half or so walk every day. Not exactly the six mile walk to the lighthouse, but at least it's better than nothing, right? At least till it gets snowing and my husband gets the bike fixed (parts been ordered, he says - this from the man who made me eat tater tots!!) And when it gets snowing, I have a great wooden sled that my son loves that I'll strap around my waist and pull him along the road with me for added strength to my walk. We should be acclimated to the cold by then.

Well, gotta run (well, walk to the kitchen) and get my cleaning started. Enough procrastinating!!

Kris

Hey everyone! I need to start getting ready for my doctor's appointment in a few! Its at noon, so we will need to leave here in an hour. I need to shower and and get dressed. Not sure what to wear. I don't know how invasive the exam will be...snicker.

JACK: Hey, I did not eat badly yesterday! Everything I had was legal, honest! :)

Gotta go...will report back what the doctor tells me!

agh its only 10:30...ive been up since 7 and im sooooooo tired already....of course i did have WW bread (jelly toast) for breakfast....dont know y i didnt realize that carbs like that make me soo tired....think ill eat lunch now (cause im freaking starving again lol) and have one of my salads to hold me over till snack time....

MONET: dish soap hmm???? *gives kevin a wicked grin* funny cause he saw me typing on here earlier and asked what kind of board this was...i told him it was for homicidal mothers  he thought i was joking...lol little does he know :D sooo glad that your sleeping better :)

TECHWIFE: got the ticker from tickerfactory.com at the end when it gives u the ticker and the codes..u just highlight and copy the code in the first box (bbCode) into your signature here on the boards...as to how it works im not sure...i think that everytime you have a weightlose ud make a new ticker and paste over the old one in your signature....

and arent husbands supposed to help keep you safe when u try to sabotauge yourself??? lol when i do that kevin just thinks its christmas and goes along with it...and trys to see what else ill let him get away with

oh and could you come clean my kitchen too?? lol im such a lousy housekeeper :(

JACK-K: thanks for the info on paul newman...ill go check and see if i can find some at the store...i have to have my itallian dressing...i think that the one i have is around 4g of sugar....i hate that it has so much sugar so i only drizzle it....but that feels too much like a diet when i do it :(

off to go make a salad now...and maybe turn up my heat...i hate turning on our heater...its broken and only blows cold air so we have to switch it to emergency heat which makes our electric bill go sky high :(

Sebray: Paul Newman has an Olive Oil and Vinegar dressing that I used when I was on Atkins and I brought it back out for Sugar Busters on my salads. It's also good on Sandwiches! Its not Italian, but it's better than nothing! I can't tell you how many minutes I've spent at the store looking at every single bottle of salad dressing, looking over the ingredients for any sugar, corn syrup or anything that ends in 'ose'. I didn't find much, but then they came out with Carb Smart dressings and I'm pretty sure those are good to go on SB. I just started last week and I'm a long way from expert status, so don't quote me!!

Everyone: I still would like to know if granola bars and popcorn are off limits. I'm pretty sure they are, but I'd love to know from the gurus for sure. My dad has a granola bar every day for his diabetes whether he wants one or not.

Talk to you later...I'm really going off to clean my house now. And Sebray, I'm the worst procrastinator when it comes to cleaning my house. I have a slogan for people that come to visit me unannounced. If you're coming to see me, deal with the clutter...if you're coming to see my house, give me at least two hours advance warning. My husband often has to go out of town for work and always brings toys for the kids when he does. Which sounds nice until the house is literally taken over by TOYS!! And we don't have a toy room for the kids. OH, wait...let me rephrase that...we don't have a living room...we have a toy room with a couch and TV in it!!

Bye guys!!

Kris

Techwife, yes I lost all 105 lbs on SB> When I started I was determined I was not going to fail again. I had some health problems which were due to my wt. I stayed OP all the way up to my daughter's wedding las May. Then the cheats started creeping in and it got easier and easier to cheat a little here and there. I maintained about 10 lbs above my goal and then in Feb I found I had breast cancer. So after 8 months of chemo and feeling crappy I have gained 15 lbs back. I did not exercise much during that time and that has really made the difference. So I am back into staying legal and exercising to get this off and finally get to goal. I lost an average of 1-2 pounds per month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. On the popcorn, it has been said that air popped in moderation is ok. I pop mine in the microwave in a brown lunch bag. Granola bars - depends on the ingredients. Probably too much sugar. I found those Quaker Smart Q bars and they are made with soy rice and only have 1 gram of sugar. I think they are ok but they don't fill you up much. Hope that helps.

Monet, I didn't mean you ate poorly, it just seemed that so many had a bad day yesterday that maybe our board was cursed or something.

Sebray, add some protein to your breakfast and that will keep you from not being hungry.

I truly had plans to eat well yesterday but I couldn't not turn down the homemade tamales. It's been years and they were so good. Other than that though eating was wonderful. And I got in a great walk on the treadmill. It was only two miles but I was sweating up a storm. Mom turned on some jams. Made the walking wonderful.

Jack-K...((gnetle hugs)) I'm so sorry you are feeling so poorly. Praying the doctor will be able to offer you some relief...both from the pain and not knowing.

Monet...Praying all goes well at your doctors appointment as well. LOL on the dishsoap thingie. I agree about the phone guy sounding fishy.

Sebray...I'm pretty sure there are several Italian dressings out there you can eat. Might just take a little time finding one you can like. You could always make your own. Not only would it taste better but you would totally control what is in it. Are you getting your water in? It really helps when you get hungry between meals.

Kris...I'm pretty sure some of the ladies eat a little popcorn. I think the key with popcorn is portion. Store bought granola bars have way too much sugar.
Your walking route sounds just awesome. Except for the cold. This gal is too southern for - temperatures. :) I start shivering in the 40's.

Toni...hang in there. It seems like a lot of us have been having a bit of trouble with the eating these days.

Heart..remember..this too will pass. You are not gaining tons of weight you are looking great. Diet pills in the long run cause so many health problems and in the end cause you to gain tons when you quit. But you know that. And I understand your frustration. Trust me, I got on the scales last night and shouldn't have. I was crushed.

Colleen...how are you doing? How is your pup? Praying for you.

Julia...hope you are feeling better. Are you getting excited about your driving test?

Poncho...hope your little ones are feeling better today.

I guess I should get my lazy hinney moving.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hey, guys. Boogie got his cast on today. Only has to wear it for 3 weeks. He picked out hunter orange for the color. Surprisingly, he was very good. Anyway, I'm staying legal today! Tomorrow will be a different story. We have Thanksgiving dinner at the church tomorrow. But right now I'm just focusing on today. BF was 2 1/2 eggs and 2 slices bacon. Snack was a momentum bar(LC). I'm starting to get hungry again but trying to make it until 1 where I can sit down and eat while watching my soap opera I haven't seen in days. Supper will be chili. I haven't done a workout today. But I do have to teach exercise class at the church tonight. The girls told me to eat well on Monday so that I won't work them so hard like last time, lol. As you know, I did terrible yesterday, so they aren't going to like me tonight, lol. I'm going to look at a house later on. Alright, I need to run...check back later.

Hey everyone! I am back from my four week post op doctor's appointment. She said I seemed to be healing very well, told me I could increase my activities as I felt like it, and could go back to Curves in two weeks, as long as I took it easy and did not strain, or exhaust myself at first. Hooray! I am feeling like a real person again! After we left her office, Tom took me out to lunch to a neat Vietnamese restaurant owned by one of his co-worker's family. Its called 'What the Pho?', and serves all kinds of noodle dishes. Pho is the Vietnamese word for noodle soup. I got a rice noodle soup with beef, and spring rolls. The food was excellent. We will have to go back so we can try some of their other specialties. I ordered the small bowl of soup and it was a really good sized bowl. I don't think I needed anything bigger! :)

Small group is tonight...I have a sirloin tip roast in the crockpot for dinner, and I am going to make instant mashed potatoes to go with the gravy from the roast, and broccoli. I need to take a nap before then, so I am not exhausted like I was last week.

Oh, boy...I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving! I have NO idea what I am going to fix, and I sure don't feel like fixing anything! I hope I can rope Erik into cooking something for us! Poor guy is still out of work with his finger...but it IS healing, which is a BIG answer to prayer.

Ok, off to take a nap...later!

Hi all:

So far, so good today. I was back to 120# this morning, so if I can hold steady through Thanksgiving, I'll be happy.

I took Lane over to a mom in Britt's class yesterday so I could volunteer in Britt's class. I am supposed to watch her kids in return next week, so she can volunteer too. Well, I was only home with the kids for about two hours when the phone rang....it was the mom telling me that after we left, one of her boys starting throwing up. So, yes Lane was exposed to that, and will probably be puking any day now....gheez, I hate the illnesses this time of year.

So far today, I have had a bowl of Barbara's Cereal w/ soy milk, a SF NF Latte from Starbucks, and some flax chips w/pinto beans, cheese and lite sour cream and salsa. I will be eating some fruit here soon, and probably a small salad. Dinner will probably be salmon, shrimp, broccoli and rice.

Tech: I did Atkins for a month before finding SB. When I was on Atkins, and as long as I have been on SB (over 1 1/2 years), I have always eaten popcorn, in moderation; it has never affected my weight loss at all. I would only eat about a cup every week or so, not something I'd have everday. I think they are rethinking popcorn just like carrots, and they will be included as an o.k food in the future (lots of fiber). Also, on the granola bar front....I get the Nature Valley Oats & Honey crunchy granola bars. They do have added sugars, but not too much. They come in a dual pack, so a serving size is 2. Total sugars for 2 is 11g, but if you only eat one, you are only getting 5.5g sugar (which is only .5 over the recommended amt of added sugar allowed). If you have one and it doesn't put you over your 15g "added" sugar allotment for the day, you s/b o.k. Once again, I wouldn't eat them everyday. If your husband wants to sabotage his "diet," that's fine, but don't let him sabotage yours. Do this for yourself, and be supportive of his shortcomings too. This woe has been so easy for me because my DH was so supportive; he ate all the same foods I did, and ended up losing weight he didn't even need to....men!

Monet: Glad you appt. went well, and you are back among the living again. I am sure you will be back to Curves and feeling great in no time.

Heart: Hang in there! Don't turn to pills for help; you will learn to rely on them and get away from the healthy eating and exercise that is so important for "healthy" weight loss. BUT, you already know that; you are just feeling discouraged. If anyone knows how to do it the right way, you do. Just Do It!! Sorry to hear about Boogie. Britt fractured her arm when she was three, and picked a hot pink cast; talk about drawing attention. The only "positive" thing that came of that is that she stopped sucking her thumb, and never went back to it; she was only wearing her cast for three weeks too. It gets itchy and uncomfortable....I hope he can tolerate that for a few weeks.

Country: I love Tamales, and can only find them this time of year, so we will get some in December and enjoy them, and then wait again until next Dec. to get more. WE sometimes get them on New Year's.

Sebray: Check Brianna's dressings out; they have a lot of really tasty ones that are legal. I get a French vinagiarette that is delicious. I think Newman's Italian would be legal too. Try to get some protein and some good fat into your BF, and you will feel full longer. Also, when you eat your salads, make sure to throw in some protein and good fat as well. You will find that the protein and fat will carry you a lot farther than the carbs.

That's all I can remember without having to go back a page, but I did read all posts!

My plan is to stay 100% OP until Thanksgiving so I can have a "free" day. My homeopathic dr., and my nutritionist said that it's a good thing to have a free day, and since I am at my goal weight, I am going to do that on occasion, but I'm not encouraging anyone else to. When I started this woe, I didn't deviate at all until I got to within 5-8 pounds of my goal weight. I was 100% committed for the full 7-8 months.

Well, I have to go change a dirty diaper.

Have a great OP day!
Nat

BRIDE: YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY on your first pound :D i know how exciting that can be when u first start losing...just remember that ur weight might fluctuate a pound or two so dont get discouraged.....

HEART: i hope boogie will be ok with the cast....being so young, i hope the itchies dont bother him too bad

MONET: YAY!!! so glad to hear that the doc gave you the ok to work your way back into your routine....times like this, even doing the mundane makes you feel good lol

i had my grilled chicken salad for lunch....not sure what im gonna have for dinner, im checking my reciepes right now...but i did have a glass of egg nog :( i think that this time of year egg nog and pumpkin pie are the only things i cant refuse (good thing i can make pumpkin pie legal :) )

im off to figure out what to make for dinner...

oh and i told kevin about the dishsoap earlier today...and then a few mins ago we were having a 'discussion' about him sitting in front of the computer all day and not helping around the house......bout 10 mins after that he tells me "i wonder what my mom would think if i told her you were visiting a board for homicidal wives?" lol he's so funny...told him to go ahead and tell her cause she'd probably want me to give her the web addy for it

Hey Ladies,

Well, I’m back on track for 2 full days now! I’m STARVING! Gosh I want some French fries! HAHA! We found out yesterday that our school won top Title 1 school in the state of Louisiana!! We are so excited. We have been nominated for 3 years and we finally won. Now we have to compete for the national title! Wish us luck! Well, let me try to catch up with a few of you!!

MONET: Glad to hear that you slept well the other night! What a good feeling that must be! I sleep well every night thanks to Tylenol PM! HA! I’m with you on Wally World – I get aisle rage! I can’t stand that place! We went this weekend and I was about to start running people over with my buggy! Glad your Dr. visit went well!

JACK-K: We must have had the same talk with ourselves!! Go us! I’m so sorry that you are still suffering with all of your treatments – how much longer do you have?

FILLISE: What a good idea to share the Thanksgiving ideas – unfortunately, I don’t have any tips! I always cheat! HAHA!

JULIA: Below freezing? How nice – I’m still wearing my Capri pants and shorts here! UGH! I can’t wait for some cold weather! Still not too sure about the roll model thing…every time I “come back” I weigh more! HAHA!

PANCHO: Sorry the kids are so sick! What a bummer! Our entire school is going to the Palace to see Polar Express on December 22nd – the last day we have school before we get out for the holidays. I teach 1st grade and we are going – so are the K and Pre-K classes so I think it should be OK for your little one.

TECH: I had to laugh when you said that you went for a walk to get your mail and it was at the post office ¾ mile away! I don’t even want to walk to my mailbox at the end of my driveway (which is VERY short!) to get my mail!! HAHA!

SEBRAY: I would die if I would stay up 2 days!!! I’m an early to bed early to rise kind of gal!!

HEART: Don’t you hate it when the hubby can stick to things and lose! That really sucks! I was actually thinking of doing the diet pills too – I’m pretty desperate! What happened to Boogie?

BRIDE: Congrats on the 1st pound! May it be the first of many for you!!

TICKER QUESTION: How do you change the numbers? Do you have to go in and create a new one each time you lose??

Well, see y’all tomorrow!!
Missy

Evening! Small group just left. It was fun, and everyone liked the crockpot roast. I was bad... I ate some mashed potatoes and gravy. I was not too bad...DietPower says I was still under my calories for the day. We shall see! I forgot to take my glucophage, though. :o

FRUIT: Good to see you! I am sorry you are feeling deprived. Eat some veggies, if you have the munchies. Protein always keeps me from feeling hungry.

SEBRAY: I had a good laugh at your husband thinking we are homicidal wives. I decided years ago to keep mine...Please point out to yours that the dishsoap is not likely to kill him...just make him suffer a bit!

BRIDE: Congrats on losing! Wednesday is Weigh In Wednesdays, or WIW around here...so make sure you weigh and post on Wednesday mornings! :)

PANCHO: Oh, goodness! I sure hope Lane doesn't get that pukey stuff. Pump her full of vitamin C, and maybe she won't! I will pray it passes her by! Its a terrible time of year to have sick kids. :(

COUNTRY: I wouldn't pass up fresh tamales either! Its been years since I had one....

JACK: I am sorry you are having joint problems. I hope you find relief. I am thankful I have been in remission for a while, but I can remember how it felt to have the flare and feel the frustration. I hope and pray you feel better soon...

HEART: I hope Boogie's arm heals quickly. Its amazing how fast a break knits in a kid...and adults sometimes have to wait months!

TO everyone else...

Good night all! Sweet dreams!

Sorry for MIA today. Today have been a busy day..physically and mentally. Dh went to get the rental car for my test tomorrow and then I (with him and dd of course) drove the car to run some errands and to familiarise myself with a car. It is much easier to drive a car compared to a van but my minivan feels safer to me. We finally decided to let the landscaper put in all the trees and scrubs for us instead of doing it ourselves so they were working hard on our yard today. It is great to see our yard comes alive. I can't wait for Spring when the different flowers bloom. I have to admit that I was a nervous wreck today because of tomorrow road test. I am more calm now after a lot of chat with "Him"...lol. Well....will do my best tomorrow and will let you guys know how things go. I won't do any replies today because I know my heart is not here plus my mind is getting tired from all those worrying and panicking today...lol. So, I am going to retire early and get a good rest. I will chat with you ladies tomorrow :) Hopefully I have good news.

to make myself feel better i drank 2 extra bottles of water....i swear im going to buy myself an exercise machine for christmas...i have no other way to work out otherwise :(

Monet: oh i decided to keep him :) i just put him through alot of hell along the way lol....he's the best, he puts up with alot....im bi-polar and dont take any meds for it and he is very understanding...plus my oldest son devon is bi-polar and adhd as well...so kevin gets put through some stuff lol...i have to take my son tomorrow to his therapist to get him put back on meds...he's going through an emotional growth spurt and is having trouble controling everything..so he needs a little help....

i have diet power as well...but i find it very hard to keep inputing all the things i eat...is there a trick you have to use it? or is it discipline that you have? lol id love to be able to use it but im still having problems :(

Julia: good luck on ur test...just take a deep breath and do ur best :) im rooting for ya :D

Ticker Answer: yah fruit...i think the only way for it to move is to make a new one every time you lose

Morning! Did not sleep as well last night, but I am not going to complain. I am trying to use my computer around a big yellow kitty who thinks the best place in the house to sleep is my desk, with his tail draped over my mouse!

I just finished breakfast. I did weigh, but was sad that it was up four pounds from yesterday. :( I have no idea why, except I did have a hefty dinner last night. I usually weigh less after I have been up a few hours. I am going to weigh again in a little while and see what it is.

SEBRAY: That cookie episode sounds very dangerous. Next time, don't let the little boogers into your house! Just slam the door on them. Or make yourself a batch of SB legal cookies to override them with. That works for me...

KENG: I hope all goes well with your test today! I am praying you get a nice officer to test you, and you can feel calm and collected. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Happy WIW!

Hope the scale is good to everyone.

I am up 3 from last week, but beats the 7 it was up on Monday! :fr: My new motivation is to think about that number on the scale everytime I am tempted to put anything into my mouth!

We got a 2 mile walk in last night. It was late when we left so we had to cut the pond out. Too much duck and goose poop to walk in the dark.

Country, I think the treadmill is a much more intesne walk than walkingout doors. I seem to sweat much more. So 2miles was a good workout.

Heart, so glad Boogie did well with his cast. You won't lose him with that orange cast. TG dinner is the easiest to be legal. Do you have to fix a dish?

Monet, glad you got a good dr. report. Ease back into normal activities and you will be fine. I must have missed Eric's finger. Did he cut it? This is the perfectyear to let him fix TG dinner. You know it's not fat fromt that gain. Probably the wt of the food.

Bride, congrats on the loss and more to come.

Sebray, do you thinkyou will ever tell your DH the truth about us? Don't you hate it when out bodies take over our minds and act on their own? How about some exercise tapes. Walk Off the Pounds are great ones. Santa can put themin your stocking. Congrats on your loss> No more cheats!

nat, sure hope Britt doesn't catch what the little boy has. It is that time of year and germs are everywhere.

Missy, good luck on the school thing. I was thinking you all had won it last year. I am finished with the chemo treatments. Now my RA is back with a vengence. Since I have started exercising again, my back is bothering me again. I can't win. Getting old sucks. Two days under out belt. We can do this.

Ken, good luck with your test today. I know you will do great.

Got to run to a meeting. Be back later.

Hope WIW is good to everyone. I am holding steady at 120#, so all is good here.

I got up at 4 a.m. to go to the gym this morning; it was a little tough since I didn't get to bed until 10:30 and then was up with Britt at 11:30. She was coughing so much that she wasn't able to sleep (residual chest gunk), so I gave her some cough meds so she could sleep. I also rubbed some vaporrub on her chest.

Britt gets out of school early today, so I might take her to the mall to look around; she never gets to do that anymore. I also have to pick up my mother's ring; I had to have some of the prongs fixed on it when I got it inspected a few weeks ago.

My menu so far today:
1/2 Triplex bar after workout
32 oz of water (already)
Blue Bunny yogurt w/ chopped pecans and flaxseed meal
I will be eating some dried apricots or an apple soon.

Bride: Congrats on the 1st #. Keep up the good work, and you will continue to see those pounds go down.

Sebray: Tis the season to enjoy all those goodies (in moderation). I really had to change my mindset when I started this woe. I used to eat one cookie, and say...'why not just have a few more, I already blew it." AND then to top it off, I'd even skip my workout because I felt so bad about "blowing it." That's the worst thing you can do. I now say to myself, "I am going to allow myself to eat one, and enjoy every bite of it and not feel guilty about it, and get to the gym and on with my day." I don't want to deprive myself, especially this time of year, but I also don't want to overdo it, and feel terrible afterward. O.K....off my soapbox  . Congrats on the 1# loss!! You'll start seeing that scale go down, down, down if you stay committed!

Fruit: Congrats to you for staying OP for 2 full days - HOORAY! And, congrats to your school for top honors. Good luck for national title. Your input on Polar Express just made up my mind for me. I've been reading so many reviews my head is spinning. I am sure if it is rated G then it s/b fine. Britt gets out of school early next Wed (the day before Thanksgiving) and that would be a great day to get the holiday spirit moving. I am going to take her then. Thanks again! Enjoy the movie!

Monet: What is Dietpower? Is is like Fitday? I don't like Fitday; it's not very easy to use, and it never had the foods I wanted in there, and I had to enter everything. My sister joined Weight Watchers online just to use their database; she said she likes it better than Fitday. I have been giving Lane chewable Vit. C every day since I got the "puke" call. I am sure if she is going to be sick it will be by Friday. I just want everyone to be well before Thanksgiving. I am sure the heavy dinner affected your weigh-in this morning; you'll drop those pounds in a day or so.

Ken: I am thinking of you today and hope you are not too nervous for your test! Good luck!!!

Jack-K: When you really commit, you are so strong and such a motivation. Keep up the great work!! You will see those pounds falling back off you soon.

Well, I have some stuff to get done.

Have a great OP day.

Good morning ya'll. I am fixing to head out the door in a bit. They are fixing my grandma's broken ankle this morning. Long story short...she broke it, they found a heart issue and can't put her to sleep. She has to have the surgery or never walk again so they are numbing her from the knee down.

WIW was 156. I have to tell you about my precious husband. Finances have been really tight for the last few months so my special things to eat have not been in the budget. Last night he went to Wal-Mart and bought me cauliflower, broccoli, squash, tomatos, cherry tomatos, cucumbers, avacados, lettuce and onions. I could have cried at just how sweet he was to not only spend the money but take the time to pick it all out after working till midnight. :)

Monet....((hugzz)) I'm so sorry you had a rought night last night. I bet some of that water weight will be off as the day wears on. Sometimes when you don't sleep well you retain water. At least I've noticed that with myself.

Julia....I know you are doing GREAT this morning on your test but saying a prayer for your peace while you are taking it.

Jack-K...((hugzz)) I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. Hopefully the RA will calm down soon and you will start to feel better.

Poncho...your dedication amazing me. WTG getting in your work out. I didn't hit the hay till after 4.

sebray....if you can't get motivated to exercise maybe you could turn on some jams and get to moving that way. :) Dancing can be fun and you don't realize you've worked out. Just think the cookies are gone and you can get a fresh start this morning.

Hubby just got home with the feed for the critters. Gotta scoot.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Sebray, my friend has a gazelle (really a knock-off they bought at SAMS Club) and she loves it. So much easier on the knees.

Nat, Vicks Vaport Rub. That brings back memories. I love the smell of that stuff. My dad you to eat it. It says not to on the bottle, but never hurt him. Sure hope Britt doesn't get the gunk. Maybe the extra vitamins will help.

Country, that was so sweet about your DH. He's a keeper. Great WIW Keep up the good work.

Hi everyone! I made a batch of peanut butter whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. I used agave and fructose in them, but I am disgusted. Does anyone have a CRISP cookie recipe that is legal? I am sick of these cakey things. We like crisp, hard cookies, and every recipe I have tried is cakey!

Not much going on here. I feel kind of tired from the baking. It was fun, but took a lot out of me. I had James put the mixer on the counter when he was home for lunch, so I did not lift it, but all the activity of mixing, and spooning them out and such has made me feel rather tired!

KENG: Where are you, woman? Did you pass? I am hoping you did and are driving all over the place to celebrate!

A warning to those of you who might be coming to Georgia, especially close to Atlanta, specially south of Atlanta, you might have to be extra careful because there is a new driver on the road...LOL. Yes, yes I passed the road test!! Woo Hoo!! Yipeeee, hurray!! LOL. Okay, I am not insane just have a lot of emotions to release...lol. Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for your prayers, encouragement and support. It really means a whole lot to me especially when driving has been my greatest fear (so far) and I did it!!! I cannot believe it! I am 30 years old and just now getting my driving license but never too late right?? If I am back in my homecountry, I will not care about taking a driver's license since I can go anywhere by public transport plus it is really more affordable, not to mention the terrible traffic there which is not pleasant. DH said he is afraid to drive there beside the fact that we drive on the wrong side of the road..lol.

This morning, I was getting very nervous and asked dh to drive but he insisted that I should. Gerrrr...So, I drove to DMV but that drive really calmed me down although the roads were busy, for some strange reason. The DMV was closed today because they have some septic problems (must be a big problem because they had to openall the doors...lol and the examiners were all standing outside of the building) but they would still take road test...pheww! For a second, I was worried that I won't get to take my test today. I was prepare to kill someone if they don't let me take the test...lol. You can tell I was ready to get the test over with. I didn't have to wait long and I was tested. The examiner was a lady who is soft-spoken but very stern. She doesn't smile, doesn't say anything nice at all. When dh and I first saw her, I thought to myself, please not her, she looks mean...lol. The parking was actually not bad, just understanding what her instructions were a little tough. I kept asking her which cones she was talking about as they were so many of them....lol. I thought she was going to fail me over that...lol. The driving on the road was easy though. When she told me I passed, she said it so reluctantly like she didn't want to give it to me. I didn't get my actual license yet since DMV is closed today but will go back to get it tomorrow, hopefully without much problem. Sorry to bore you guys with the details, I am just so happy, you have no idea. The best thing is I feel like I can do anything (almost!) that is put in front of me. It is so awesome to know I am never alone in my journey :) I will stop here now before I start babbling non-stop...lol. I won't do any replies until later when my feet touched the ground. I am still on cloud 9 :)

Good day to all of you and thank you so much for your support :)

Okay, here's my menu for today...

BF - two poached eggs
One slice of pumpernickel toast
1/2 orange
coffee

Lunch
Wendy's BLT Salad (was out shopping with my son for more whole wheat bread)
Tiny squirt of the illegal honey mustard salad dressing
Medium diet soda

Snack
Smoothie (1/2 cup plain yogurt, 6 strawberries, 1 orange, 1 egg, some Splenda
water

Dinner
Broiled Tilapia
Broccoli and Cauliflower
1 cup cooked WW pasta
2 small slices of 7-grain bread
8oz skim milk

Snack
water

I'm trying to drink four 16 oz bottles of water every day. My exercise for today was shopping at the mall. I figure if I buy some new clothes in my current weight, I'll will Murphy's Law into effect and I'll loose weight and they'll no longer fit me. At least that was my excuse ...hehe

I forgot who lost that one pound, but HURRAY!! A walk of a thousand miles starts with the first tiny step!! Keep it up!

AND, I made chocolate chip cookies for my daughters class today and only licked my fingers once when I was done, then let my husband finish...I know, but it was kinda romantic...and it was a great alternative to eating the cookie dough myself! And I didn't eat ANY of the cookies!! Okay, I took one tiny bite to be sure they were suitable for the little targets...I mean kids. But I took the leftover cookies, put them in a basket and right in between my husband and son and daughter in the living room and left. When I came back, they were gone. Just as planned. I was proud of myself.

Anyhow...off to thaw the fish for dinner...

PS...I weighed myself and I'm down a pound, but this was after I...well...had concrete evidence the fiber in the bread and veggies is doing its job? You know what I mean...anyhow, a pound's a pound, right?

KENG: CONGRATS, JULIA!!! Now that you have your license, we need to plan to meet for lunch sometime. We can meet in the middle...or if you need to come shop up here at the farmer's market, we could even meet there. :) You are going to enjoy being able to drive...and it will get easier!

TECH: Good going on those cookies! I made legal ones and ate three..oh, my, I feel SO bloated! And yes, a pound is a pound...I hope it is still gone in the morning. To me, that is the acid test...

Ok I'm giving this ticker thingy a try.

Maybe that will keep me a little more motivated through the holidays!

I'm shopping for dresses to wear to an inaugural ball in January--so that ought to keep me motivated too!

Julia--Congrats on passing your driver's test!!!!!

Monet--I can't get WW cookies to work and finally gave up on them.

More on the holidays: I think it is prefectly ok to declare Thanksgiving as a 'free day" as long as it doesn't become a license to overeat all through the holidays. I make Christmas eve and Christmas days free days and don't wory about it. WHATEVER GETS US THROUGH! But if you want to try for an OP Thanksgiving--it is one of the easier holidays to do.

Susan

Getting ready to head home. Have to stop at the card store and ge my birthday cards for Nov and Dec. My friend's birthday is tomorrow and I will be taking her to lunch and I don't have her card yet.

I have bunco tonight but I am planning on being good. No dessert for me. I did it for 2 years I can do it again tonight. We are going to a pizza place for dinner before hand. I told DH he will have to get a sandwich as I am getting a salad and hot wings. Not even going to look at the menu.

Ken, Congrats on passing your test. I know you are so excited. Now just be careful. There are some crazy drivers out there.

Monet, can't help you on the crispy cookies. Isn't the egg that makes it cakey. But you can send me some and I will help you eat them.

Techwife, yes a pound is a pound. You are so funny. Congrats ons taying out of the cookies. One nibble won't kill you, it's what follows that will.

Susan, I agree with the free day, but trying to make it as legal as possible helps. I tend to go whole hog (no pun intended) and don't know where to stop. Here's hoping you lose 10-15 pounds for the dress in Jan.

Have a great OP evening. I want to hurry and work out before I leave for dinner. Talk to you tomorrow..

Fillise - your ticker looks great!

Country - I forgot to mention that your husband's awesome for produce shopping for you. My husband's awesome, too, but was in serious shock when I came home with my first Sugar Buster's grocery bill. That produce is really expensive! I usually buy some produce, but not like I did getting ready for SB! Once he started breathing again, I got a short lecture, but then he was fine. That's why I usually have 1/2 of an orange for breakfast instead of a whole one, etc. I usually give the other half to my son to spread the glory a little. :dancer:

Anyhow...I had to share a new experiment I did today. I put in my blender about six ice cubes and chopped them up, then added a half cup of plain unsweetened yogurt (bleh!) and put in about a half dozen strawberries and a whole peeled (obviously) orange and a couple level spoonfuls of Splenda with one egg. I blended until the chunks were gone and...well, I'll admit it's no Orange Julius, but it's a great snack! And it'll be nice to have around the pool next summer! In my new bathing suit I'll be buying sometime in April after loosing weight, right? :encore: It would be better if it weren't so pulpy from the oranges, but maybe next time I'll try kiwi and strawberries. I used to make an illegal version of this with bananas and another fruit that varied (peach, blueberries, etc) and honey with vanilla. But I'm pretty sure the honey and bananas are off limits, right? I have some green ones, but with my one pound off, I don't want to jinx it.

And a word on WW cookies. Any good recipies out there? I have bad memories of a christmas when my brother and I were making cut outs and we didn't have flour. We sent my dad to the store and he bought WW flour instead. Well, we made the cookies anyway and they were positively horrible. I can still remember that horrible cardboardish, pastey taste they had. We ate them anyways because just about anything is better with enough confectionary sugar icing on top. But, I have to admit to being a bit leary of WW cookies...unless someone has a good recipe...I'd be willing to give it a whirl!!

Well, back to dinner prep...techwife

Julia....
I am a long-time reader of this board (years) and I never post because I'm just not a "vocal" type person. But I couldn't *not* post in response to your wonderful news today.

I think you're just one of the nicest people on this board...I always enjoy so much reading what you have to say and sharing in your joy with your daughter, husband, and health. Not to mention your cooking abilities! :) So today...coming here and reading that you conquered your worst fear of driving is such wonderful news...I'm so happy for you. I admire you so much...the person you are and your deep faith.

I doubt that I'll ever post again but I just needed to tell you today CONGRATULATIONS!!! Best wishes to you.......

Good evening...

I just went back to few pages to check where I should catch up and boyy was I surprised that I am 3 pages behind. I will start with the recent posts and work my way up but probably won't get to the earlier ones but I have definitely read them.

My eating was fine but not as healthy as what my body is craving for. I am cravings for something light tomorrow. So, I believe tomorrow is fish day :) Dh called earlier to officially tell me "congratulations" on getting my license. He teased me that he couldn't understand why nowadays DMV is giving out license to just "anybody"...LOL. Good thing we don't have a dog house or he would have to sleep there tonight...lol. It seems to me that he is just as happy as I am. Hmm...I suspect he is having his own little celebration of not having to take me here and there anymore...lol. I will miss our family time at the grocery store together but will enjoy him not being there too..LOL. Okay, I believe my feet are firmly on the ground now and I am slowly coming to the realization that I am a license driver just like anyone else....snif, snif :)

MELINDA : Your post made me speechless but I want to thank you for your kinds words, well-wishes and your silence support even when I didn't know you were lurking. That has to be the sweetest thing someone said about me, especially someone I don't know. I am not sure if what you said were all true though, from my perspective...lol. I hope one day you will decide to join us here and lets us get to know you. I am pretty sure you have a lot to be admired and learnt from :)

SEBRAY : Thanks for thinking of me today. Hope you had a pleasant day. Did Kevin clean the kitchen? Great job on making the good choices at McD. Excellent!!

TECHWIFE : Yep, eating healthy is not cheap, that's for sure. I saw the fastfood commercial the other day. They were selling 5 burgers for $5.00, gosh, talk about cheap eats, no wonder people grab fast food all the time. It is so affordable. Fruits are one of the most expensive items in my cart and I eat them carefully or is it fruitfully..lol. Last week I decided not to buy strawberries because they were going for $4.99 for 1 pint which it used to be $2-something. Your smoothies sounds yummy except I would probably skip the egg in mine. It will take sometime for me to get used to egg in my smoothes...lol. Yes, honey and RIPE banana is no-no but green banana is fine. You can certainly use Agave in place of honey. Agave looks like honey just thinner and much tastier. Yeah, congrats on 1 lb loss!! You are doing great!

JACK-K : Thanks for your congrats. I will be careful, infact I would drive around my county before I head out to farther places.

FILLISE : Thanks for your congrats. I agree with you view on free days, portion and self-control is really important. Well, I am sure a gorgeous nice dress is out there is waiting for you to buy it. You can do it!!

MONET : Thanks Monet, I really appreciate your support! Yes, we do have to plan something one of these days. I do not plan to drive downtown on my own for a while but when dh and I go to Buford, I will let you know :) Oh, I so miss Dim Sum..yum!

COUNTRY : I am so sorry to hear about your grandma. She will be in my prayers. Awwww...your hubby is such a sweet man and it is clear why he did what he did afterall, he does have a wonderful wife which he appreciates. Now, why did you sleep so late?? I thought I was a night owl and you, after 4am?? Oh, I almost forgot, you have a story to tell me now that my road test is over??

PANCHO : Thanks for thinking of me today, I really appreciate it. Poor Britt, coughs are so tough to get rid of. I am glad Jess's cough disappearred after 2 nights. Vicks is a life-saver especially when you have a cold.

That's all the replies I can get in right now. I need to veg on my couch to relax for a bit before cleaning the kitchen. Might check in again later.

Hi Everyone!

My 1st Official "Weigh-In Wednesday" and I have lost 2.2 lbs! I was thrilled! Hopefully there are more to come. :strong: I'm finally walking on the treadmill. My honey moved it out of its corner for me and I'm set up with a cd player and all my favorite cds! :tread:

Julia - Congratulations on your license! :cheer:

Crystle - Your husband sounds like such a sweetheart! On another note I really sorry to hear about your Grandma. Hopefully they are able to fix her ankle and she'll be able to walk in the near future. I thought I read somewhere that you have horses and I am also a horsey girl. I was wondering where in TX you are? My soon-to-be hubby and I are moving to Ft.Worth in August. I'm always looking for horsey people! :)

Melinda - Please join our group. You sound like such a wonderful person and I for one would live to chit chat and get to know you! Now we know you're out there! :spin:

Sebray - Way to go at McDonalds! :cb: I know I would not have had the same will power. The chicken nuggets would have been screaming my name! It's so hard to pass up the things we've grown to love and unfortunately I need to stay away from the fast food chains, but I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! lol. Why can't I have a hyper-thyroid instead of a hypo or just have a naturally thin figure and ofcourse eat anything...if only...wishful thinking!

Well I best get to bed...Talk to you all later!

well its midnight and i have to get to bed now...got alot of research to do for class this weekend.....im writting a persuasive speech on how everyone should get psychological exams before becoming parents .... *sigh* man i picked a rough topic

ok as i was writing the last paragraph kevin came and looked over my shoulder...as i joke i shut off the monitor and told him he couldnt look ... he asked what i was doing and i told him i was on the 'homicidal wives board' i told him about and he couldnt see what i was planning for him...lol...so he walked away and a couple mins later he sneaks up behind me and tries to be all romantic and stuff when in fact he's trying to read what im typing

ok so im going to bed now for real :) nn

Good morning! I guess after a hysterectomy, PMS sneaks up on you when you least expect it. I felt like swinging at people yesterday, grousing and complaining, and being just plain crabby. I started thinking it through and came to the realization that the timing is just perfect from my last cycle, before my surgery! Now, you may think, oh, bummer! Not I! I am going to grit my teeth and try and be thankful. My ovaries are working!

On the weight front, I am muttering wirty dords under my breath. I hopped on the scale and I am up three more pounds from yesterday. Its going in the wrong direction, folks! I had one and a half pieces of pizza yesterday, and a couple of Pizza huts boneless wings. I will be glad when I can get back to cooking full time. I was tired last night, and allowed Laura and a friend to pick up dinner....and they wanted pizza.

TECH: Congrats on the loss! I found them...shall I hang on to them for you? haha!

SEBRAY: I have one of those apple slicer things! I used it a lot when I first got it, but now its in the basement, in its box. I need one of those little stands for it, and it would be much more useful. It never fit on my table! I am sorry the kitchen wasn't clean. Mine would not have been either, unless my daughter decided to be nice. She doesn't mind cleaning, but she has rules! 1. you can't ask her, or she won't do it..it has to be HER idea and 2, she has to be home alone. Yep, you figured it out just like I did...it doesn't happen very often. I put up a weekly chore list, though that you have to initial when you do things. This is to help get through my recovery time. She is rather competitive and has to 'win' on this sheet by having the most boxes with her initials. Do you think they would notice if my recovery took a year?

BRIDE: Congrats on your loss! You are off to a great start!

KENG: I do love Dim Sum... I made some ww steamed buns once. They actually were not bad! I used my Wheat Montana from Harry's and stuffed them with Chinese sausage and a meat filling. I know Mung beans and cellophane noodles are ok, so I wonder if the mung bean flour used to make some of the wrappers would be ok? I would love to make Har Gow (the shrimp dumplings) again if it were. I know the bean curd sheets are legal, and those little rolls made with it are soo good! Do you have any recipes you have made that you could try and adapt?

FRUIT: Good luck on your grant! Its so nice to see you more regularly!

FILLISE: Are you going to be coming to Atlanta, or have I missed you already?

JACK: Are you feeling better?

COUNTRY: Yum! I love all those veggies. That was awfully sweet of your hubby.

I need to go find some coffee, and try and wake my sleeping giant of a son. He sleeps through three alarms! I just don't know what to do with him!

Good morning...

Well, I thought my cold was gone but guess what it is finally here. What I had few days ago was mild but today my body finally break down...lol. Dh said, well, you choose a good day to be sicked...lol. It is like my body hung on until after my test and then she couldn't stand it anymore...lol, okay, my imagination. I am indeed fortunate because dh is off today so I will at least get a little break here and there.

Nothing plan today except maybe a trip to DMV to get my license, that's if they are open. Will see how that goes. My house is in need of tidying and cleaning so hopefully I do a little of that. I am not exactly sure what my menu would be today since dh is off but hope to make some fish for lunch or dinner. So far, breakfast was a piece of ww toast with a little butter. Warm tea with lemon juice and 1 tsp of Agave. No appetize for protein today.

More replies :

HEART : Hope Boogie's wrist heal fast now that he has his cast. Looks like he is a little champion :)

MONET : Glad your dr appointment went well and you are healing wonderfully. Now, continue to relaz and let your family pamper you :) I can't remember if I have tried Pho' but I am not crazy about soup noodles unless I am sicked...lol. Hmmm....looks like a bowl of Pho' right now is very appetizing...lol. I like Vietnamese food but haven't eat too much of it though. I cannot believe I am saying this but I am glad your are PMSing :) Hey, wait for a day or two before weighing again, see what happens then. Wow, you daredevil you, I wouldn't dare to make dim sum, too delicate for me...lol. My fav is "Har Gow" and the sticky rice in lotus leaf, yum! I imagine the mung beans flour should be okay. Give it a try. I like mung beans in any form and beans curd sheet as well. I would sometimes put bean curd sheets (tear into small pieces) in chicken or beef stew with some chinese fungus (mushrooms) which gives a different texture to the dish. My mom did that so I am used to that. Oh, a stew right now would be nice :)

SEBRAY : Oh my, you have 2 days by yourself?? That could be dangerous...lol. Hope Kevin survives your plot :) Seriously, any plans on how to spend it?

TECHWIFE : Woo Hoo!!! WTG 2 lbs are fantastic! You are doing great! SB is not a diet just a healthy way of eating and it is really not hard and you have our support.

Alright, dh is home and I got to go just in case he needs to use the computer. Check in later. Good day ladies!

Good morning. Woa am I way behind or what!!! I've got to get on the ball and start posting more. I've not been wanting to come to the board because I'm having a rough time with my weight. I didn't even get on the scale yesterday. And really wished I would have. I'm planning out my Thanksgiving to be SB legal. I'm even going to make a kind of cornbread dressing with that mock cornbread I posted a while back. We'll see. We're really having two dinners. I'll make one here at the house for DH and I and then we're going to my sister's. But shes a diabetic so it won't be hard to stay legal. Congrads on all who lost yesterday. And to Julia for passing her driver's test! Wonder if we all should post our Thanksgiving menu? Maybe it would make us more aware of what we're going to eat....

SEBRAY: I just realized I never responded to you about Diet Power. I have used it off and on for four or so years, and I really like it when I use it. I just get lazy, I guess. It helps if you put things you eat regularly into the favorites area. You can adjust the serving size and all, and it is right there ready to go. Practice using the search engine some too. I find adding my usuals, that are not on there, makes it easy too. Instead of picking something that sounds like it, I just use the ingredient/nurtient panel and put it in as a user added food. Then I KNOW its right. I added my oat bran muffin recipe, and a few others so I have correct figures for foods I eat every day. It does take a bit of getting used to, but its so useful, and I think much easier to use than Fitday, I love it. If you have questions about it, please feel free to bother me all you like about it.

KENG: Making Dim Sum is fun. I like cooking that kind of stuff...remember I catered for years...still do some! Small bite sized stuff is the kind of things you serve for weddings and receptions, so Dim Sum is something I enjoy making. It can be tedious, but the end product is wonderful! I mean, wouldn't you like to keep eating Har Gow without worrying over the price of each plate?! I enjoy soups...the the Pho at that restaurant was good. Soups fill me up without many calories, and I sure need that! ;)

TONI: Good idea on the Thanksgiving menu...here is mine: Beef roast, ww yorkshire pudding, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, legal pumpkin pie. I am toying with making a cheddar broccoli soup as an appetizer, and maybe a sweet potato souffle, though only my husband and I like it. The cranberry sauce is to keep the kids from rioting. I won't eat any! We don't do turkey. I have hated it since I got food poisoning from it in high school. No one else is that fond of it either, but they all love roast beef and yorkshire pudding. Sometimes I make a standing rib roast, but its too expensive this year, so I think I will just make a nice big round roast, so there is plenty of meat.

Oh, you guys are so much better than I am. I have every intention of having Thanksgiving dinner be a total wash diet-wise. Well, I guess about the only bad things are the stuffing and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. The cranberry sauce isn't a problem here...for instance, I still have the can I forgot to open last year still in my fridge. But, the stuffing and mashed potatoes....food of the Gods as far as I'm concerned. I'll be eating them with reckless abandon on Thanksgiving...and will carry the memories with me throughout the rest of my dieting days. :encore:

I know, it's not very supportive of me, but Thanksgiving is one of those days for me. I've always loved it with the great food, being with my grandparents and my aunts and uncles and cousins and my siblings and parents...well, that was a long time ago and the grandparents are gone, the cousins are grown and have practically grown families themselves, my parents live in Florida and I moved three hours away from my brother and sister, my husband is always manic depressive on family holidays because his are all 3,000 miles away in California, my daughter complains about every single thing I cook, my son's only 3 and won't eat anything either... all I have left of my favorite holiday is my stuffing and mashed potatoes and I just refuse to give them up! But I'm desperately looking to make some new traditions to look forward to every year. I'm looking forward to someday being the grandma and having my adoring children and grandchildren come to my house for Thanksgiving, but until then, tofu turkey and no stuffing is not an option.

Anyhow...I'm just a bit depressed today...drizzly, cold and gray outside and I have a sinus headache. Maybe I'll go eat a kiwi. :headache:

as far as thanksgiving goes i will eat as i normally do becuase i always eat legal without realizing it rofl...i will allow myself a tiny piece of my 'send you straight to hell with all the sugar' chocolate lava cake  but will make a legal pumpin pie for the rest of my desert lol

Monet: thanks for the diet power input...ive never used Fitday and diet power is the only thing like this that ive ever used...i just dont like to count calories...its too much work...like inputing all my recipes into the database...i get exhausted just thinking about it rofl ....i swear i dont know what my family would do if i died or ranaway...as it is my house falls apart when i have surgery (ive had 2 this year) and god knows im not allowed to be sick  menopause after a hysterectomy is terrible lol well it is for me...the mood swings caused by the surgery make my bi-polar mood swings worse...needless to say there are times when i have to lock myself in my room rofl

Keng: hmmm well i always have good intentions for my days off lol...i plan to clean out the closets, dust the whole house, give myself a home spa treatment, read that book i never finished, work on my afghan...etc etc...what i usually end up doing is taking a nap or veging in front of the tv with all my good intentions out the window rofl (sounds like my diet and exercise for the last 5 years  )

so im pretty hungry so ill see what i can scrounge up for lunch....getting a bit sleepy too...cant wait to get a new bed, then maybe ill sleep better

Good afternoon:

I hope you are all doing well. For some reason, I cannot see anyone's tickers; probably my crappy computer.

I have a hair appt. tonight to get a haircut and weave. I am looking forward to it. My DH will get the kids bathed and to bed.

If the kids stay well, and I stay well, I am supposed to go to a Ladies Spa Night tomorrow w/ some friends, and have a discounted pedicure and massage, and hang out in the jacuzzi and eat some potluck food; I'll be good.
I just don't like being away from home two nights in a row; I love the bedtime ritual with my kids...we snuggle and read books and tell stories.

My eating has been good and I have worked out twice this week, and plan to go tomorrow and Saturday too.

Country: I hope all went well for your grandma. I am glad they found out about the heart issue before the surgery. What a sweet hubby you have.

Jack-K: You dad ate the vapor rub? Yuck. My dad always ate Baking Soda. Were you a good girl last night? I am sure you were.

Monet: It seems like those almond cookies that Chrisd posted were more on the crisp side. I also recall seeing an almond lace cookie recipe in the recipe section at one time. Sorry the scale is being stubborn again; I hope it starts going down for you.

Ken: Congrats on passing your test; I know you must be so happy :D . The stress of the test could be what helped bring on the cold; it'll do it to you. Get to feeling better soon. What a powerful post from Melinda....every word of it is true.

Tech: You menu looks good. Way to steer clear of those cookies; it makes you feel awesome, doesn't it? Sounds like a yummy drink. I make protein drinks for my husband a lot and drink a little bit of them (soy milk, NSA apple juice, frozen bananas and frozen mixed berries w/ protein powder); they are so good. I like to drink them the night before I go to the gym early because it seems to help get me through my workout since I don't eat before working out. Congrats on those pounds lost. You can buy WW white flour and bake with it and also WW pastry flour. There are a lot of good cookie recipes on the board, depending on what you like. I'm right there with you on Thanksgiving. I will enjoy my food that day, and then get up early and go to the gym and eat right on Friday.

Fillise: I know what you are saying about Thanksgiving being a free day and it turning into a free month (why not just start again on New Year's?)....but I know that I am disciplined enough not to let that happen and hopefully everyone who does it will be able to jump right back on the bandwagon on Friday. I know that is why I have been able to maintain my weight of 120#'s for over a year now...I allow myself to have indulgences so I don't feel deprived, but I never allow it to turn into an excuse to keep eating poorly. We need to always remember that we eat to live not live to eat. Good luck getting into that party dress for the ball in January.

Sebray: You s/b very proud of yourself for being so disciplined at McDonald's. Those terrible FF are so hard for me to resist, but that's the only thing. I don't care for their beef or any of their other food, except for the fish filets. Don't skip the pasta the next time the family has it, just try some WW pasta or some semolina pasta (which tastes like regular pasta). Good luck with your research; it sounds like an interesting paper.

Bride: Congrats on the 2.2#'s; you s/b proud. Good job getting that treadmill out and getting moving....keep up the good work.

Toni: Hang in there...we are here for you!!

Well, I better go finish my lunch.

Take care,
Nat

Hi Ladies,

this is going to be a quickie, things have been crazy here today. Thought I was going to have a lazy day, wrong! I'm working way too hard.

Yes Nat, I was good last night. I had wings at the pizza place. They were out of salad, go figure, and water. Didn't eat anything at bunco but 1 piece of apple and 1 cracker (ww). Hot 1/4 glass of wine (too dry for me) and 1/2 cup of coffee. The rest of the ladies had gingerbread cake and almond pecan icecream. She did have lots of fruit and shrimp, but I don't like shrimp. She also had french bread and brie and snack stuff and candy too. But I was good and even got in about a 20-25 mntue workout before I left.

Took my girldfriend to lunch today and had a chef salad and tea. BF was 1/2 english muffin (ww) and 1/2 grapefruit. Handful of soy nuts for a snack. Don't know about dinner. DH usggested going out, but we ate out last night and will tomorrow night so we need to stay home tonight. Probably hamburgers (no bun), beans & veggies.

Got to get back to the grind. See ya tomorrow.

Ug! I feel yucky. My stomach feels like I ate a rock, but all I had was a bowl of yogurt, and a green tipped banana with some oats.

I just finished a book..it was a good one. Very deep and serious plot lines, in a romantic setting. It was disturbing and thought provoking. A friend loaned it to me. I must say it was probably one of the best books I have read this year. Its called Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers, if there are any readers interested...

I think I will see if I can find something to calm my tummy...like some peppermint tea. Be back later!

this is going to be quick b/c im getting a headach from not getting enough sleep last night...i ate very good today i think...had 2 hard boiled eggs and some ww toast for bf, tuna salad with some left over boiled eggs on ww toast with slice of cheese for lunch...didnt have the need for snacks today :) for dinner i have no idea what to make. I got an early xmas present from my step-mom...an electric skillet!!!! :D ive been wanting one for YEARS lol and for some reason never remembered to ask for one for xmas before this year lol, i got it in the mail today...im so excited!!! i cant wait to use it,....i think that out of all kitchen appliances that is my favorite :) the only problem is, i cant figure out what i want to cook in it first...although i keep going back to grilled cheese sandwhiches..so maybe ill make those, the kids havent had them in awhile, and maybe some tomato soup (if its legal lol i cant remember atm)

Pancho: had to skip the pasta because it was regular white pasta...we still have a few illegal boxes of food in the house that we cant afford to just throw away so i make a legal meal and throw in a box of pasta with it for the kids...this works cause i never really liked that kind of pasta, i only buy it cause the boys and kevin love it :)

it is very easy for me to eat legal foods since i pretty much have my whole life, my problem is sweets, candy, sweet tea, cakes, etc etc etc rofl so as long as i keep that junk away from me im good :)

ok well im off again for a bit ... im itching to weigh myself again today...but im so scared that ill weigh more then yesterday and get depressed about it...*grits teeth* ill just buck up and forget about the scale until saturday

Oh dear. Tom came home and found a leak in the plumbing in the heater room in the garage. He is rather down about it. He skipped his jog to go get the parts he needs to fix it at Home Depot. The house needs to be replumbed with copper really badly. It has that awful polybutylene pipe in it that cracks, bursts, and is a bear to join. This is about the fifth leak in as many months, and poor Tom is frustrated. We can't afford the $4 thousand it will take to get the replumb done. sigh

I have oven fried chicken in the oven. It is beginning to smell divine. Maybe that will cheer poor Tom up when he gets home. :(

I am tired, and feel achy and kind of irritable. I should have napped.

Will catch everyone later!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Sorry I've not been around this week...I've been keeping myself occupied doing things I don't normally do!

I wanted to check in and let y'all know that I hadn't dropped off the end of the earth.

Susan and I made a pact that we would post our weight together, so I'm catching up with her on that!

I"ll be back later for replies...

BOB: ya know...out of all the danged songs for football teams i hate them all  especially the 'hail to the redskins' ... i heard the Vol's theme song for the first time since ive lived in TN (ok ok so im sheltered) and i have to say that i REALLY like that song....i was dancing in my car today :D

Just a fly by. NOt feeling tip top tonight. In fact, I feel pretty bad. I just took my first dose of Ibuprofen for the day. That may be why I feel bad...no anti inflamatory drugs to keep the swelling down, and its bad.

BOB: Good to see you.

Night all! I hope and pray I can sleep ok tonight. I feel exhausted.

Hey, guys. Well, I stepped on the scale today and was very surprised. It read 160, and yes I weighed like 10 times to make sure, lol. So I'm only up 1 pound from my low. Go figure. I expected it to be at LEAST 163 with all the cheats I've had the past 2 weeks. Today I was OP, but I had wayy too much poppy seed chicken at supper tonight. I'm planning to be OP throughout the weekend. As for Thanksgiving, I will not lie and say I'll be OP. That is my day to thouroughly enjoy. My Dad is suppossed to make the turkey and potato salad. My Mom will
