Ok, how does the activity points work exactly? I started today so I had 35 pts... I used 4 pts at lunch. But I exercised for 60 minutes and gained 7 pts.. So does that leave me with 38 pts? That seems too easy.. Anyways it also seems like I eat more than other people. I eat "real" meals! Am I doing this right?

You can post your daily menus on a thread on this board just to double check but if you are eating the core foods, that's the plan. Just make sure you are using portion control and stopping when you begin to feel full. For instance, last night for dinner I had salad w/ff dressing/stuffed bell pepper/brown rice/milk. When I fixed my plate I just automatically reached for the 1/2 cup scoop for my rice. I didn't measure the salad dressing or the milk. I could not finish the bell pepper. I was full so I stopped eating. That is the secret to making this plan work. I also did not eat an evening snack. Just wasn't hungry.
Remember you don't have to eat your activity points. They are there if you need them but if not, they will just help speed your weight loss.

Remember with Core just like Flex APs are eaten on the day earned and do not carry over day to day. And again because of that you use them first instead of the WPA (formerly know as FPs).

Jaymi! You sound like you are getting this down! Kelly, Jaymi never did any other versions of ww, this is her first time and yesterday was her first day so it's all new to her! But you are right about the AP's... the the old use them or lose them scenario... if you earn them today, eat them today because you don't get to save them. Thanks!

Thanks Spryng, Kelly, Janette, & Amarantha! I didn't know that I better lose them or use them... but now I do! So that makes a big difference! Thanks again!

Hi, guys! :) Re the APs carrying over ... on the online and at-home plans, they do carry over for the whole week, IMO. They drop off at the end of the week and you start fresh with 35 points ... thanks for the info, though. I'm going to double check that. I don't do meetings so don't know how that version of the plan is done.

see I heard that too but since I don't do online I couldn't see it for myself... any one know what their leaders say about AP's carrying over?? I do At Home so I don't get that extra info

Ok I checked on ww.com and they all agree you can't save your ap pts... you must use them the day you earn them.. the online just hasn't been tailored for that yet.

Ok... so do since I ended up with 38 pts.... for the next day.. Can I start over with 35 then next day?!?

Amarantha

Well, we differ! :) There's nothing in the plan that says you can't save your APs for the week, IMO! But we all have different opinions and that's what makes the world interesting. Have a great day, everyone!

I believe looking at the online it states APs are earned and used on the same day with both Programs. When I go in this afternoon to my meeting I am asking for the Activity materials.

I am so glad someone asked that question?!!! I walked for over an hour but had no idea how many points I earned...is it in the new plan book?

Edited Wednesday a.m.: Yea, Kelly, you are RIGHT! I decided this a.m. to switch to Flex and finally found this statement: "You will start each day with a specified POINTS Target, based on your current weight. In addition to your POINTS Target, you can also use any Activity POINTS values you’ve earned within that day as well as any amount of your remaining weekly POINTS Allowance."

So there ya have it, Corettes! On Flex, at least, you ARE supposed to use the APs on the day earned and I was wrong about that! I'm happy to find the answer!!!!

As stated, I'm switching to Flex for awhile, so enjoy Core! :coffee: Good luck to all!

Hi Gals,
Sorry I didnt see this earlier but someone brought it to my attention.

I am a Leader and just looked in the week 3 activity book for Turnaround. Most of you would not have it yet because next week is week#3.

On page 13 of that book when you receive it has a **** at the bottom of the page that states:
"Activity points values swapped for food should be used the same day they are earned."

So there it is.............you can read it next week if you get the current material.

No more banking of any.period....thats easy to remember.right?

Thanks for listening ( again  )
Cin

PS I was surprised how few of my members tried Core last week! I lead 5 meetings a week and it shocked me to tell you the truth!

Hi Ladies

Hey Jaymi, I'm trying to get my head around this plan too  your math is right but is'nt the 35pts to last for 7 days :?: so in fact its 5pts per day :dunno: so that would have meant you have 12pts (7+5) to "eat" not 38pts, unless you want to have them all at once :hun: and have none left for the week ;)

I would have thought that you could "bank" the pts too :( for the weekend or a special occasion..pity they don't do that  I might go to a meeting to make sure I know what i'm doing

Cin,

I just got back from my meeting and only a couple of people tried Core, but they were successful. That inspired more of us to try it this week! :)

Hey Cathy, I reason I had got 38 for that day is because I exercised for 60 minutes. If you use that calculator that adds up to 7 pts. So.. since I can't bank them.. that's fine! I wish I could... because I just blew them all.. or most of them.. But let me know if you understood what the heck I just said! LOL

I am still confused..how do we know how many we earned that day...like if you walk at a good pace each day for 1 hour?

hmmmmmmmmmmm :?:

oh I love your icons too! I love the baby time line

Ok, you use the activity points calculator.. it asks you what your weight is.. if your workout was low, moderate, or high, and for how long. If anyone wants it.. I think (if I'ts ok with Spryng) I can PM the link to you for you to download. And.. thanks for the compliments for my signature! For once I'm not getting complaints!

I never really worried about activity points because I know I can't lose without exercise and if I eat those points then I probably wouldn't lose. So I guess I won't bother with figuring them anymore even though it was fun using the on-line calculator.

Lisa, the counter on line will figure it for you if you put the activity in, the rate (low, moderate, intense) and the time you exercised. They used to have an activity cardboard thingy like the points calculator but don't know if they still do. Anyone with the program material to answer her question?

All my material is at work so I'm no help there.

But I also don't worry about activity points because, although I'm at a desk all week, I am a waitress on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 5 until around 11 ... and walk my tushie off the whole time! Plus when the place closes, we have to sweep and mop it all. I keep telling my boss, the owner, that I should be paying her at least $35 a month for my health club dues!

On week 3 WW gives you a slide similar to a Points Finder but it is called a Points Booster.

Based on your intensity level, amount of time exercised AND your weight..it determines how many points you have earned for activity.

I have one here at home but it does require your weight........which is personal...even you PM me with your weight and tell me whether you exercise light, moderate or high intensity. ( and how many minutes)I will gladly tell you how many points you are earning.

 Yeh I understood what you said Jaymi :D I was just wondering if you'd used up the whole 38pts :yikes:

How many pts would I 'earn' if I walk at 3mls per hour for an hour? weighing..168lbs :( and roughly how many pts an hour would I earn doing a: light exercise b: moderate exercise c: high intensity exercise is it possible to estimate the pts? :thanks: Girls.
