Hi wwgal:wave:!

Yes I saw the commercial for this program and was wondering the same thing. It involves 35 minutes a day of exercise. One day is aerobic and one toning. It looked interesting. You can check it out on www.beachbody.com but if you buy it buy it from the infomercial because it's a much better deal. Let me know what you think. I have a few beach body videos that are really great and really do target those hard to tone areas. I'm tempted to get this kit myself but I'm afraid I won't be able to commit to doing so much each night. Right now I do the Spark program that's 10 minute bouts of exercise (aerobics, toning and stretching) and it's been working great for me. I hope this wasn't too long. Sorry for writing so much:eek:!

it and how it is.

wwgal,
Hi again:wave:! I will be anxiously awaiting for your post on what you think about this program. I saw the infomercial again and it keeps tempting me. Isn't the infomercial price good compared to the web price? It's less then half the price! Did you order the exercise tubing with it or are you going to use free weights? I have tubing at home and I love it. You can check this website out too for more tubing options. It's www.spriproducts.com and you have to create a log in name and password but they have great products for good prices. Just a thought. Please keep me posted:)!

where they get you are the supplements. WIth the internet price they are included but they are not on
the infomerical. I can't decide if i really need they or not. THey cost 74.00 for 2 different kinds and they
are both 90 days worth. I don;t know enough about supplements to really know if they are going to make a difference or will i get the same results with out them.

Hi again,
I would say no to the supplements. Which ones are they? I know some about certain supplements because my son takes them for weight lifting and football. But even on the infomercial it states that you don't need to take the supplements. It might speed up the results but I think the bottom line is you are burning fat by doing the aerobics and building muscle. You can always go to a local store for supplements later on if you feel it will enhance your results but I think you made a good choice not to get them right away. Keep me informed.

I have to agree with you about the supplements. FOr the women supplements it does n;t
seem to be any big one. I know creatine is important for men but there isn;t anything like
that for women. That is probably why they call the women supplement total health. I can;t
wait to get it and try the tapes.

I am thinking it has to work because it is aerobics and weight training wi th the diet plan.
Where ever other diet i have been on the diet comes first and the execise is any after thought

SO i am thinking this one has to really work unlike the bunches of others you see on tv.

I just want to thank you for talking to me about power 90. I can;t find any place where people are
talking about or using it where i can get some feedback.

I am so glad I found someone else interested in this program too. I'm very excited for you to get power 90 and let me know what you think. The price is great! And it is the key to weight loss I think. Weight training especially. My son takes creatine but we buy it from GNC and he also takes protein powder from GNC but I take nothing just because of what you said about womens supplements. I've been doing some research on supplements that will help us and I'll let you know if I find anything worth taking. Until then I think this workout program will be the key to getting great results. It's great you have someone to do it with too. But if you say it's a good deal I will probably buy it and then we can start a power 90 thread:D! I'll keep in touch. I hope you will too. Thanks again.:)

I just bought the Power 90 System and started yesterday.

I did the circuit video 1/2 yesterday and I feel it today but not in a bad way. I used real small weights (2 pounders) and went through it. I liked it because he says to go slow, take your time, do it right, etc. He seems to be very consise.

I tried the Cardio 1/2 this morning and OH MY GOD I AM OUT OF SHAPE.... it was hard for me. They start with some warm up and then go to some power yoga that was really hard for me, then they go to the aerobics which includes some Tae-Bo type steps in it. It was hard for me, but he tells you to go at your own pace, tells you not to over do, put it on pause if you need to, he will be there when you get back. I did not try the ab one today.

I like these videos so far. I like that he doesnt have music in them so you can really pay attention to him at first. He tells you to put on music that motivates you which is nice because not everybody likes the same music. I also like the clock at the bottom of the screen. For me it keeps me motivated because I can go WELL I ONLY HAVE 10 more minutes, I can do 10 more minutes.... 9 min 12 secs.... etc.

There are 6 videos total.... (3) phase 1/2 and (3) phase 3/4. I can see this working. As for the diet program. It makes since, nothing real radical, more the common sense stuff. I read through it and am keeping the things he said in min, but I have started Weight Watchers so I will follow that more closely. Although what he said can be incorporated in it.

Anyway, sorry I was a little long winded. Will Let you know how it goes from here....

Angel,
Thank you so much for the information. If you don't mind can you tell me a little more about the aerobic video? How long is it? Is there allot of jumping? That's the only portion I'm concerned about. I bought some tapes from beachbody.com and they are great and also have the timer at the corner of the screen. I think these really work. I believe it is the same guy as on the power 90 program. If you don't mind could you give me some information on the length of the tapes. I can work in about 30 minutes a day but when it gets into the hour thing I have a hard time. Also can you do half in the morning and half in the evening? That would work out great too. I'm sorry for all the questions but I'm excited about this program and you are the first person I know that actually has it. Thanks for your help.

helping you.

Hey All.....

The Aerobics Tape is about 35 minutes from start to finish.... I didnt see alot of jumping, he speaks alot about soft landing so that the joints are not affected. There are some yoga moves, some tae-bo type moves but I didnt see any jumping with them. He also has some alternative moves that you can do. Some he shows on the videos and some are in the booklet he included. There is also an ab video that you do on the cardio day that is a little under 4 minutes long, but I havent done it yet. I think you could probably do that one at a different time. Both the Curcuit Tape and the Aerobic Tape are about 30 minutes long. I dont think you could really break it up into 2 sessions unless you did another warm up.

As for the supplements I did order them but only received the Womens Health one. The girl taking my order was a real ditz and I think she screwed up. I think I will be ordering the other just to try. I have only been on the womens health one for 2 days now and I do think it is helping with the energy thing. I dont think I am as tired as I am normally especially when I start exercising. I will have to keep you posted.

Also when ordering they try to get you to pay for it all at once instead of the easy payment plan by saying that it will take so long to get it.... FYI it took less than a week without paying for it all at once....

I believe the Womens Health one was around 50.00.
I dont have the other one that they recommend and I dont remember how much it is but I think it is around the same.

I was hoping the supplements would be cheaper if you ordered them with your tapes. I called

worth it or not.

six days a week.

04-27-2001, 06:43 PM
Well I have done the tapes for 5 days now.... yeah!!!!

How have i done? Well, I think I am doing pretty good. I am having a hard time keeping up on the cardio one right now but I have injuries involving my hips (car accident 15 years ago that messed up my hips) so I am not as flexible as I hope to be....but I keep going...

I am involved with Weight Watchers also and even though I am not real good about counting points yet, in my weigh in for the week I had lost 3 1/2 pounds. So I think so far so good....

You get to take off one day a week. I think mine may be Sunday. I like my Sundays to be lazy days.

Good Luck on the Tapes, Bev. I think you will like them. I have so far.

I do think the Womens Health Pills are helping. I do feel more energetic and calmer. I didnt take them this morning and by noon I could tell. They didnt send me the other one and I am really leaning towards getting those also.

Anyway, I would recommend these tapes.

Have a Great Weekend All.

Hi everyone,

well I looked at the tapes yesterday ( i didn;t do them though) they look pretty good but i
don;t think i will be able to do them right away. I hurt my knee about a month ago( i have
not been to the doctor yet every one is after me to go) but i think the tape will make
my knee hurt. In the first 16 minutes of the cardio is where i am concerned that will hurt.
there is no high jumping but even ponies hurt me knee. I looked at the curcuit training
tape and that looks good to but that has lunges which hurt also. IF i didn;t have the problems
with my knees i would be doing the tapes right now. BUt i am afraid because even walking
hurts my knees. I will be keeping the tapes though and do them when i am better. My husband
is going to do them also.

Let me know what you decide Ras 8779 if you are going to get them.

Ras8779-- You said you are doing the Spark-- how did you hear about that? I just read about
it in a magazine and have been trying it with walking the last few days and i think it really
has helped. I try to do two 10 minute segments of walking everyday on top of my regular walk.

hey everyone.... question... What Is SparK?

wwgal
04-28-2001, 02:49 PM
Hi everyone,

I read about Spark in the Womens World magazine 5/1/01-- Spark is named after Glenn Gaesser phd
and there is also a book ( though i have not read it) What it really is is just jumpstarting your metabolism. They say if you walk for 10 minutes 12 or 15 times a week ( which comes to about
twice a day) that you will lost weight. I have been doing it for a few days and i think it is working. I just
do 10 minutes while watching tv at night . To me it makes sense to jump start your metabolism so it gets
moving.

Angel26519
04-29-2001, 05:54 PM
Thank you for the information on the sparks. I am wondering if I could just walk for 10 minutes in the evening along with the Power 90 Program in the morning or if I will have to walk 10 minutes in the afternoon also.... I will go try to find that magazine.
Hopefully it is still on display.

Have a good week all.

ras8779

Hi Ladies:wave:!

I have the Spark book and it really does work. It is in the April issue of Fitness magazine and it basically sums it up pretty good. I bought my book from Amazon.com and it was like $17 but if you can get a hold of the Fitness magazine it's just as good. The program consists of three 10 minute sparks of exercise which is a mixture of cardio, toning and stretching. There is a schedule that you can follow depending on your needs. Like more cardio for weight loss etc etc. It also states that you have to do 10 minutes throughout the day. That means you aren't supposed to do one 20 minute spark and count it as two 10 minute sparks. It's supposed to keep your metabolism burning hot throughout the day by doing the sparks spread out through the day. What I usually did was one 10 minute spark in the morning. One when I got home from work and then one about 8 or so at night. Then some days you only have to do one spark or maybe two sparks. It's a really good program and it's easy to stick with. It's worth giving it a try if you find it hard to find time for one large spark of exercise. If you need more info let me know. I might have the article at home and if I do I might be able to email it to you after I scan it. Good luck.

How is the power 90 coming along?

Hey Rose,

Power 90 is still going for me.... did my curcuit this morning.... can tell that I am getting better... thinking of increasing my weights alittle.

I am interested in getting into the Sparks Program. I found the Womens Day Article on it although I dont think they give enough information about it. I would like a copy of the Fitness article if you could get it scanned. I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyway, I havent done too good on my eating this week so when I weigh in on Wed I am a little concerned about weight gain. Food seems to be my hard part right now. I do real good in the am...been taking my Womens Supplement with Cottage Cheese and Yogurt (they say dont take it with Carbs)....do pretty good at lunch, but I totally lose it after I come home from work... UGH!!!! At least I know my weak point and I can work on it.

Anyway, I am off to the showers now. I take dance classes on Monday Night and I am now tired and sweaty.

Have a good week all.

Angel-It sounds like you are doing great with Power 90:). It does sound like a challenge. What type of dance do you take? You sound like a very active person. Could I have some of your energy:^:?

Angel26519
05-04-2001, 08:02 AM
Well what has everybody been up to?

WWGAL - Have you started the program yet?

Rose - I received the Sparks article and am incorporating it into my program.

I have been slack for a few days and resolve to get back on my training and eating right again. I have been doing Weight Watchers for my eating, but it is not really clicking for me I think. I am on Week six now and I am not real good about counting points and all that jazz. Not WW's fault, but my own. Was Looking at Cyberdiet and ediets last night some but I dont think so either.

My problem is that I know all things I am supposed to do, all the things I should and shouldn't do ( I have read everything under the sun) yet nothing seems to connect with me. To turn the switch to on. I am desperate to find that light switch. I always start real good and then the bulb burns out and I go back to normal. I realize that this is not temporary. I have to make it my life.

So I am going to start fresh today. I sat up late last night creating a form that would fit into my day planner. (one of my problems is too much stuff to keep up with).
I am commiting to 90 Days Like the Power 90 Program recommends and hopefully I can break the switch to the on position.

I have a dance recital that I am in on June 15th. (got talked into it). It should actually be fun. We are doing ballet to a rock piece. "Simply Irrestible"... you know the song from the 80's (she's so fine there's no telling where the money went). Well I do a 45 second solo. I would like to not look like the hippo in Walt Disney's Fantasia.

So My first goal is 6 weeks away. That is almost the halfway point.

So Boot Camp Starts Today. Wish Me Luck.

Hi Everyone:wave:!

I've been so busy at work I've had no time to post. I'm sorry I haven't been around much!

Hey we should start a new thread this one is getting really long. How about doing a Power 90 thread #2? Just a thought.

Bev-I'm glad you got the article. It is interesting isn't it? I think it's a good program though. Since you are the one that started this thread why don't you start a number 2 on this. It's really long:)! So how have you been doing with the power 90 and Spark? Let me know if it's working for you:).

Angel-I know what you mean about eating plans. I was on the Larry North Slimdown plan and found it hard to stick to just because I'm not good with that kind of formulated eating:(! I think the key is to just exercise more, build muscle to burn calories and try to watch what we eat. I am reading this book called "And the Fat Came Back" and it makes allot of sense. I bought if at half.com for $5.00. It's a good book and very logical. How is boot camp going? I'm considering buying Power 90 and starting myself. Let me know if you can use Spark with it:)!

CBC-I'm glad you've decided to join us. I am not doing power 90 at the moment but I'm thinking about getting it. It looks like a great program. I hope you will be able to post your results here too. If I could look half as good in 90 days as the people on the infomercial I will definitely buy it.:)

Okay I need to get off of here for a minute. I'll be back later this weekend. Keep up the great workouts everyone. You are all doing great:)!
