Hi. My name is Melody and I am following the UWLS book and implementing life-long changes. I would love to have an e-mail buddy to discuss the book and plan with. I am 5'1" and weigh 242 (down 4lbs from 246). My first goal is to get to below 200 by this fall and then to keep going until I get to 120-130. I am 28, married, mother to a 2-year-old, and I am an English Teacher.

Hi Melody...I tried to reply last night but it was right as they were temp-shutting down the board and my nice long post to you was lost forever..lol. I'm a die-hard Dr. Phil and UWLC fan and I am now reading the book for the second time. I'm CW is about 291 and my GW is anything below 200 (I am 5'11'' so under 200 should be thin but not deprived looking..lol) I live in Austin Texas (grew up in NC). I'm 24, married, no kids (yet!) and lead a crazy life of running a home business, painting, running to the gym all the time and relgious meetings :) Always busy, but as they say, if you stay busy you don't have time to get in trouble! I'd love to be your ULWS/C buddy. If you're interested, PM me and we can exchange info :)

Hi Melody. I don't have dr. phil's book but I think I am going to go and get it as I really need some help. I've been fooling myself for a long time thinking I could do this by myself. I tried the Rapid Start Plan that is in his food guide and I had lost 6 lbs in 14 days but have since gained back 2. I'm starting the plan again today but I am also going to buy the other book. I am 36 years old, work as a part-time registered nurse, married 10 years and have an almost 3 year old son. I'm 5'3" (well actually about 5'2 and 3/4" but I always round up:)) and currently weigh 230lbs. My goal is to weigh 125 lbs which I haven't weighed since I was about 12 years old. Send me a PM if you are interested in being buddies. Take care and best wishes.

Hi all! I would love to be buddies! I am starting tomorrow! I've been on vacation for the past week and go back to work tomorrow. When at work I can email but can't stay on the net a lot since we have a new manager.
PM me and I'll send you my work email address and home email address for the weekends.
About me: I'm a 26 year old female living in Atlanta. I have a boyfriend of 8 years. No children yet but one stray cat that I'm feeding outside. I work for Equifax in the accounting dept. I love going to the beach, shopping, watching cooking shows, game shows, home shows and reality shows.
I plan on walking 30 mins to an hour each weeknight to start. I have a gym at work and will resume using it in a few weeks. My highest weight was 210 about two years ago. I saw myself on the video camera and was amazed at my two chins. I am currently 195. I am 5' 9" and should weigh somewhere between 150-170 according to the various charts. My goal for now is 10% or 20 pounds.
I lost 20 pounds 3 years ago Somersizing. I went on vacation and gained it all back plus 10 pounds. I have struggled with low carb diets ever since. I don't have any willpower. I think this will be more doable.

Hi Melody,

I thought I'd say hi as we seem to have a bit in common... I'm 31, married, 2 small children... I don't teach English, but I have a degree in English and I'm a homeschooling mom. I find myself up over 200 once again (I'm 5'3" and about 215). I have a long history of yo-yo dieting, and am really trying to take things slow, think about the behavior and establishing new habits and not be a slave to the scale. Easier said than done. But, anyway, I hope you're having success. Write anytime!

I just got Dr. Phil's book and started reading it. I, too, am looking for a weight loss buddy that we could be accountable to each other. I'm 50, female, 183 pounds and I need to get down to 150.

I would like to correspond with someone between 40 and 60. I've been job hunting for a better job and I think my weight has a lot to do with my appearance.

I've been married 26 years, but I don't have a supportive family. My husband could care less about losing weight, even though he needs to, my son and daughter are both adopted and are "genetically" skinny.

I have even posted on Dr. Phil's boards and sadly I have not found anyone yet. Is there anyone in cyberland that would like to help?

I am new to this website, but I have been following the UWLC on and off since April. Lately it has been more off then on. I think I would really benefit from having a weight loss buddy. I am 28 yrs old, female, married, without children (yet). I am 5'7" and currently at 223lbs, I started at 255lbs. I have lost 32 pounds using the 7 keys. As I mentioned I have not been following the program for weeks now, and I do not want to gain back the pounds I have lost. My husband is very supportive, but does not need to lose weight and never exercises. I would really enjoy having someone to talk about staying on the program and changing the way I live.

Is anyone actually buddying up or just posting and leaving it to someone else to take the first step? :^:

I've been very lucky, just found a Weight Loss Buddy this week that is the same age that I am, 50. We are making each other accountable to each other and she has already help me find my downfalls....after supper eating!! ugh! Now I can pin point it.

Anyhow, that's Deb for being my WL Buddy!! It really does help!!

Hi! I'm new here just joined yesterday. I bought the UWS Cookbook. (Couldn't afford both books). I started in July and have lost 10 lbs. I'm 35 5'3" and now weigh 190. It's hard to do alone. My husband is supportive but doesn't need to lose so I'm pretty much on my own. I think I need someone to hold me accountable when i slip. And just someone to talk to who understands what it's like. So if anyone is interested... I would really appreciate the support. I live in NC, married 2 years in Sept. have 3 kids.
