Terri: I picked up a Shape pamphlet and they have "ball" exercises in there too. It MUST be an omen!!!

I really liked this and wanted to share from my Shape pamphlet:

The reality is, those who succeed with a healthy lifestyle don't have more willpower, they just know how to create a habit seductive enough so it "pulls" on them, rather than their having to push it.

Boy, is that ME or what???

My scale is broken.
No, I didn't break it by standing on it!!
I see you all picturing springs and nuts and bolts flying out of it as I step upon it!
It's just not working. I changed the battery, but that's not it. See, I haven't been on it in a while, knowing, I guess, that I would NOT like what was displayed there. But now I WANT to know. I need a starting point. Re-starting point. Whatever. So I have to go get a new scale.

I may regret this decision!

Hi ladies.

Well, sounds like everyone had an ok weekend. I wish I had a computer at home so I could post and chat on the weekends but I still don't. I'm too cheap to buy one because with my son being so small I don't have a lot of time to be on it.

As far as weight loss goes I'm still going strong. I hit the 40 lbs lost mark this morning. Yippee!! I think it's actually going to work this time. My exact stats are posted below.

Thanks for being here. Just reading your posts keep me on track and I appreciate the support I get as well. :)

Talk to you soon!

Hi Everyone ---
I want to thank you all for your encouragement and support during this IVF process I have been going through. :bb: Unfortunately it was cancelled today due to poor response after 10 days on stimulation drugs. My body just wasn't doing what it need to do. Since this was my first try my dose of meds was fairly conservative. I guess next time he'll increase it. The nurse called to break the news and the Doc is suppose to call me tomorrow so we can discuss the next steps. I'm am taking it very hard at the moment, but I know it will work out. I am going to take the next month to try to get off a few more pounds that have been creeping back and get ready for the next try.

I was thinking about trying to take a last minute trip to visit some friends in OK this weekend ;) . However, the cost of airline tickets it through the roof since it's last minute.

Hopefully my cheerful self will be back in a few days..... :o

EVERYONE start hunting those web sites for the cheapest airline tickets from Philadelphia, PA to Tulsa International Airport in Oklahoma. :crossed:

Barb... my daughter knows someone who knows a sight for last minute tickets CHEAP.
she will email me with the address as soon as she finds out what it is. :D

2cute - Let me know and I'll look into it. Hubby is encouraging me to go!! I just would rather not pay $700 for a ticket......Hotwire.com has a great price ~$300, but I don't get the flight times until after I purchase the ticket. Wonder if it's worth the gamble?

So, I take it you'll have me if I can find a ticket??? :D

Hello!

Well it was a very busy weekend for me, and the net has been down a lot over the past few days (something about a brown power outage). ANYways I think I mentioned that I had a pretty bad weekend..Sunday wasn't so bad because I made up for the points by eating a lot less today. I'm always torn between posting here and posting on my livejournal.

Thin, I Just wanted to let you know I feel your pain..literally! :( It's taken my back WEEKS to get better...and silly me afraid of doctors (especially without insurance) NEVER went to a doc. I recommend taking one Aleve twice a day since it's a muscle relaxent...it's the only thing that gave me relief. Plus I didn't have to remember to pop a pill every 4-6 hours...by the way...do any of your merch companies offer benefits? I havent had luck with that before.

I see Mary is still hanging around..what happened you used to post so much more!! :)

YES!!!
Hotwire is definately worth the gamble. I've used it several times for airfare, and for hotel rooms, and I have never been disappointed with my arrangements, If you are flexable and say you can fly anytime Friday and anytime going back Sunday or Monday, you can get really great deals. And they are not some fly-by-night or low class arrangements. I think if you can't find anything else, it;s really worth it

The next best thing I between find was at cheaptickets.com and it was between 535 and 800 round trip, depending on the time you leave PA.

I really hope you can work it out to be there!

hi all --
thinthinker -- keeping you in my thoughts --
well, today was a typical monday in the healthcare setting -- that would translate to CRAZY!!! But the big thing was this evening -- had to go to a wedding shower -- did without the icecream punch, without the cake, without the chips and everything else that was there. When that was over, my best friend, who has an 8 year old son and twin 20 month girls had a free evening -- so she decided we should go out to eat, which we hardly ever get to do without the kids -- so we went to a chinese buffet -- now please understand that chinese is my FAVORITE food, bar none -- and while i did overeat a little -- i actually did without all the rice, crab rangoon, soup, dumplings, egg rolls, blah, blah blah -- i ate sauteed mushrooms, sauteed snow peas, and several unsweet chicken, steak and shrimp dishes -- all in all, i hope ok --
now i am trying to wind down for the night , get breakfast, snacks and lunch ready for work and get some shut eye --
sweet dreams to all.

Good morning....

Barb... that is the same site my daughter recommended. She has not used it but has friends who do. Here is what she wrote.... she can get a flight from hotwire.com for $362. the only downside to this site is that you can't find out your flight times or airlines until after you buy the ticket. but, she would save over $300. And she would be guaranteed to arrive sometime friday and leave sometime sunday (and it wouldn't be a red-eye flight).
Barb.g seemed to know about it too so it may just be what you are looking for.

Crystal.. good to see you. I am proud of you for passing on all of that shower food. That can be a hard thing to do. I am happy for you and your friend getting to go out without the kids. I did not get much of that while raising my own.

I still have not made it back to read the last 2 or 3 threads I missed. I am just toooo busy. My sister is having surgery Thursday to have her spleen removed and she is quite overweight so we are all worried about it. I am going to Missouri Wed-Fri to be with her.. and then a quick trip home to meet some WONDERFUL friends here. :D Then back to Missouri to help my sister again. To top that off... I knee went out of whack yesterday it it hurts like the dickens. I am even using a walker this morning. :(
As they say... when it rains it pours. LOL I sure hope it heals quickly.. I don't have time to be laid up. AND I am retaining water BIG TIME !!! I need to drink more.. but since I can barely walk I don't want to have to run to the bathroom a dozen times.

Okay ... gotta go again without replies.
Hopefully by JUNE I will get back to normal. LOL

I started a new thread, called "health concerns." I decided it would be a nice idea, rather than posting my interesting health concern for all to read - I'm not embaressed, I just recognize that some people may not want to hear about them, for whatever reason.

Hi Everyone!

It's quiet around here - I think I hear the crickets chirping. I am sitting here at work on pins and needles waiting for my Dr. to call me. The nurse was very vague on the timing, so I don't want to miss the call. I just know the minute I leave my desk he'll call me.

Once I talk to him I will make the final decision on going out of town this weekend! ;)

Talk to you later.

Hey everyone- just a quick peek in.

It's been an overwhelming month at work- everything we touch is falling apart. My processor also up & quit yesterday- she's being nice enough to stay until the 28th for us- but that still isn't getting any loans closed. I'm at wit's end here, and getting more and more frustrated. I'm not the best company for anyone right now. :(

Good news- prior to PMS settling in Sunday night, I was *thiiiis close* to being under 350. Hubby bought me a gift/reward, and I can't wait to be able to use it. It will actually help me continue with this change- more exercise, continue biking my heart out (or my butt off, one of the two!) So, cross your fingers for me so that I can earn my reward & hit my first real goal, and milestone.

Hope all is well- I'll try to peek in more often.

First let me not be selfish and do some individual replies..I always end up having to decide between posting here and on livejournal.com (where my online b journal is kept).

Ladybug I LOVE that quote, it's so true. I've been telling myself that over and over...many times over these past two weeks though, because I've been "slipping" a bit. What I need to remind myself though, is that I've done a complete 180 degree turn since, oh about six months ago. Like today (GUH)...I had a whopper junior meal...but i told them to hold the mayo and the cheese...i even splurged and got a REAL coke (which is like SUCH A TREAT for me...)

Kat: New scale shopping, huh. Ok, that's scary because we all know that no scale was created equal...and we get used to the scale we get on every day, and so we buy a new one and hop on, only to see it says we weight 5-10 pounds more or less. *shakes fist* Speaking of scale woes, I'm STILL getting and "error" message on mine. Maybe I should buy another one, but I'm too proud to :(

Ingrid Yay on the weight loss!!! Congratulations!! :hat:

Barb Indeed, we're all here for you! :) It's nice to have a community of people representing all ages and lifestyles. If you don't mind me saying, I secretly worry myself about my ability to conceive. My menstrual cycle is all messed up (as many of you now already know..)..and I always think about that episode of friends where they put eggs in Phoebe's uterus. She says: "They're LITERALLY putting all their eggs in my basket..." It's a really good episode - so full of hope - it's part of season 4 which you can buy on DVD :D

2cute: I'm really sorry about your knee, and I'll be thinking about your sister, please keep us up to date on how she's doing when you get back. May I ask why she needs to have her spleen removed? Just keep thinking about that wedding you have to plan :)

Jennifer I don't think I've actually "talked" to you much..but I want to know..what is your reward for going under 350? :D

Now that I've replied to everyone I totally forget what I was going to complain about. I think I was going to complain about how I feel like such a failure..but reading all your posts and thinking about a lot of things has made me realize that despite any mistakes I may have made these past couple of weeks, I'm still doing so much better than I was last winter. I think this is the longest I have lasted on a SERIOUS diet. The last time I was this serious and lasted this long was when I did Jenny Craig (which by the way works if you have the money lol).

They're fertilizing the field across the road from us so it smells like cow :censored: There's no escape from it either. I was sitting here this morning thinking I had stepped in it or something, i even threw my pants in the wash because there was a brown stain on the cuff...then i look out the window and see a tractor coating the corn field with cow crap :( We can even smell it inside the house with the windows shut. GUH.

Well I guess that's all I have for now, I think I'm going to go burn some incense and read or perhaps watch The Haunted Mansion (came out on DVD today).

Hey everyone :)

I am soooo tired, but that isn't unusual for me anymore. I do wish everything had worked out right so I would be spending the weekend with some of my best friends. The money is ok enough now, just couldn't get any time off work because all the new people keep quitting!

I had to pass on some cool news. Had three really good things come about yesterday. First, the pathology report came back clean. No cancer! Second, I had decided to call my old college and see if all my credits were gone, or what. All I have to do is pay a $10 readmission fee and I can finish up. Well, that and sit down with an advisor and figure out what I should do with them since I don't want either of the majors I was working towards at that time. But still, not having to redo all of it is sweet! Third on my list of good things was going in to Curves to face the music and do a new WI. I figured it was a good idea since I hadn't been able to exercise the last week. Well, the whoosh faerie loved me, and I lost another 3.5 lbs! Wahoo!

I'm going to pass out soon at this keyboard, so time for me to hit the bed and get a few hours sleep in before work. Heavens, I might even get to see my family tonight... what will they do with me around and not snoring off in the bedroom?

I exercised today! My bike has been in my sister's garage all winter...dh dropped me off there and I rode it home. Down my favorite bike trail...ahhh...it's a beautiful Spring day, it was wonderful to have the wind and sun in my face again... Oh yeah....AND I cut the grass!

I'm movin' now!

MissMeliss, hubby bought me an MP3 player to keep me pedaling on the stationary bike, and to keep me motivated...my old walkman was on it's last legs, so this pushes me into gadgetland...I was 1.4 pounds away- we opened the box, it was damaged- we joked that it was "broken" because I didn't wait to hit 349 before touching it...so today, Airborne came & picked up the damaged one, and hopefully, I'll have a replacement this weekend, or Monday at the latest. Then, PMS struck, so let's see...no such chance at getting under 350 this week.... As long as it happens before the end of this month- I'm just impatient that way. :D

Andria, that is such great news about the pathology report! Well, everything else, too, but especially that report.

Believe it or not --- I just got home. I have an hour + commute and had to go to 2 drug stores to track down my prescription. :dizzy: Just ate, changed, and planted myself at the desk! :)

Thin - How are you? When you are Thelma and Louise hitting the road???

Ingrid - Congrats on the 40 Pound mark!!! WOOHOO!!!!
:tread: :cheer: :flow2: :cp:

Crystal - Good show of willpower! :D

Melissa - Yep, I know the exact episiode you are talking about. I have seasons 1-5 so far. :o I am trying to do that same procedure. --- You are NOT a failure. Everyone has different goals, plans, body types.....Maybe you should try to focus less on "DIET" and more on a "HEALTHY LIFESTYLE". Just a thought - it helps me.

Andria - I am so happy to hear about the clean pathology results!! YAY!!! College in addition to everything else. You are the WOMAN!!! Congrats on the weight loss. What a great day!!!
:hat: :cp: :cb:

Kat - What a beautiful day for a bike ride!! And cutting the grass!! You go girl!!!
 :cb:

Jennifer - I love my MP3 player - great for working out! I just have to figure out how the get purchased files from the Internet to download - been having some probs with file types. :^:

As for me --- I ended up talking to my doctor this evening. It went OK - I was hoping for a more encouraging conversation, but I guess he has to be realistic with me. He said I may never be a good responder to this treatment, for whatever reason --- some people just don't have a great response to meds. I may have been oversurpressed by the surpression meds I had to take first --- I could have poor blood flow to my left ovary (the one that stayed hiddend) --- could be a number of things....But, we are not giving up. Next time he is going to change up some of the meds and the doses. As long as we can get my body to produce 4-5 eggs we have a shot - some women produce 20-30+ with this treatment. So, I started taking a hormone replacement pill tonight to bring on my period. Then I will go back on Birth control for a month and we will start all over again at the end of may. During that time I am going to focus on losing 15-20 more pounds and building up my energy level and lowering my stress level.....getting healthier!!!
So, I am slowly getting over the disappointment and focusing on the next try! I am going down fighting for a baby!! :bb: :bb: :bb:

Ok, gotta do a little planning and research for my weekend get away! ;)

Talk to ya later!
Love,
Barb

I already have visions of me just getting on the ball, falling off, getting on the ball, falling off - but then THAT would be exercise too, right? ;)

Happy you have a game plan there BarbPA. I had to laugh - only modern medicine can have you taking birth control as part of the cure to GET pregnant!!!!
