Hi ladies,

My four day weekend is shaping up to have crappy weather. Today its wet already. And its cool. We were supposed to spend the time fishing.

Instead, we took my Mazda Tribute to the dealership yesterday to have some work done and ended up trading it in on a new car. Its something we've been talking about but I loved it and wasn't interested in other cars. However, I found a black Mazda 3 that I love. Its smaller and will get a lot better gas mileage. I had a suspicion that the Tribute was headed for some transmission problems because I drive in such heavy traffic and it did have 70,000 miles on it. They gave us more than we owe plus we got it on the S-Plan because my stepson works for Ford. And 3.9% interest. Couldn't hardly pass that up.

We had a birthday party for the MIL last night. I was so pissed that it was too inconvenient for one of her three sons that he could only stay for the first 20 mins. Interfered with his partying plans with his girlfriend. His mother turned 84 and this was a first ever birthday party for her and he couldn't stay. I was so mad, I couldn't even look at him as he was leaving. He's one of those that everything has to be at his convenience and on his terms; he cannot meet anyone half way. And when he gets a girlfriend, its all about her and the rest of us don't exist. Until she dumps him and he needs someone to cry to.

We got her two red hats and a red feather boa and a purple one too. She was a scream prancing around. Her sister just moved into the retirement apartment facility where she lives and they have joined the Red Hat Society. They have a function next week and she's been fretting about a red hat. DH couldn't decide on one so he bought both. And I couldn't decide on a boa so I bought both! She was thrilled.

Food has been good up until yesterday. I will end up being over for the weekend by the time we have Easter dinner for my mom, his mom and one brother (not THAT brother). He invited a cousin and her husband too. I'm not sure if they are coming or not. But since its mostly his family, I need to go get him up and make him help clean house.

Lucky - Yes, I have three Winsor pilates DVD's that I do. I got up yesterday morning feeling very stiff and sore in my lower back. I did the DVD for the back and I was fine the rest of the day. I love them.

I've got to run. I may not be back to post until after all the family has gone on Sunday. My mom is coming around noon today so I need to get my rear in gear.

Have a great Saturday and weekend!

It's a Beautiful Day, you all are Beautiful. May all walk the Beauty Way :flow2:
Hey determined to succeed, since you still have your mom with you, just enjoy her. My mom has been gone now for a little over five years and I just miss her so much, and now that my grandma is gone also I know tomorrow is going to be rough day for all my family, since every holiday was spent at Grandmas.
I am off for my walk, to see all of GODs beautiful creation

Hey ladies -

I too am living with my mother AND my grandmother - although I have lived on my own before, i ended up moving back when all my best friends went and got married and moved away (Iowa, Bangor Maine, and Georgia...) We fight all the time because she's one of those moms who acts more like the annoying younger sister...if you all know what I mean :)

2Cute, I'll keep in mind your comments about not comparative shopping...actually I plan on having a budget wedding, when I finally tie the knot. Owen is cheaper than me, and neither of us can fathom spending the average (what is it, $10,000..... 20,000?) on (as Chandler calls it in Friends) a "party."

Andria my prayers are with you, you know these times make us stronger. And look at it this way, at least it was found. Some women (like me) never go to the doctor when something goes wrong. I'm deathly afraid of the doctor.

Well, I must go do some errands...I just spent nearly 200 dollars two weeks ago to have the car garage fix my car since it was leaking coolant. I'll be damned if the coolant light came on yesterday, I put coolant in and sure enough it's all leaking out...like dripping. Damn. If they think I'm paying for them to do the same thing....

Well I guess I'm off.

Hi all, I've had a pretty good day. I love our Saturdays at work. It's just a skeleton shift, just DH & I one salesman and 2 part timers. We get there around 9:00 and about 11:00 we leave (DH&I) and go eat brunch and run any errands (today it was the office supply store) then on to the plant to take inventory of the parts in progress so Alvin can work on the schedule for next week. Then it's back to finish up work. Just the fact that not everyone is there, and no phone calls interupting, makes Saturdays one of my favorite days.

After work we stopped by Sam's and bought up more supplies, and came home and I took a nap. Just woke up, so I probally will not sleep tonight.

Tomorrow we are to have an Egg Hunt in the park at our church. Grandson Nathan is supposed to be there, so we will enjoy it, Then after that lunch at my moms. DH asked what we were having, and I told him it was EASTER so that meant ham and cake with Jelly Beans on top!!!

Monday I am starting my new PLAN!!! I am having my evening meals prepared and delivered to the house. They are 400 calorie controlled and are following the ZONE diet plan. I'm going to dig out my ZONE book and read up on what else to eat. I could get all three meals and 2 snacks delivered too, but decided to try just the dinners first.

Talking about food, my supper just finished in the over, so have a Happy Easter1

Good evening ladies... only have a few minutes.
we were suppose to all meet at a park tomorrow but because it has been raining here for 2 days and still more tomorrow.. plus cold ... it has been moved to our house... so that means I have to get busy. I have been gone for two days running running running (errands that is.. lol) so my house is the pitts AGAIN. I just unload in the kitchen and collapse each evening... and now I have to get it all put away.

My food has been fair. No pigging out.. but no strick dieting either.
But I am glad to say... I have been maintaining not gaining. :D
But I do know that maintaining at this weight is not good. :^:
I have not given up... I will get back on program.

Gotta go. Have a wonderful EASTER !!!

Hi. I am lurking. I don't have anything to contribute. I'm a major downer. Wednesday, the kids and I spent HOURS making a welcome home banner for my DH. For those of you who don't know, he's been in Baghdad for the last year. Only had two more weeks to go. Thursday we get a call from command that they've been extended until August. So after we get all ready for him to come home, I have to turn around and tell my kids that daddy STILL isn't coming home. My fear is that in June when we are supposed to turn the government over to Iraq, that things will not go well and they will be extended again which we have been told is a distinct possiblility. This is so depressing. I think maybe when the kids get out of school for the summer, I'm going to go back home for a while. I can't stand sitting here all summer.
As for my food and my weight, haven't really paid attention the last week. Maybe I'll care later this week.
Anyhoo, I'm still alive and lurking. Hopefully I'll be a little more positive next time I come here.
Hope everyone else here is doing OK.
Talk at ya later,
Jen

Wow, it's definitely a holiday..what would the holidays be without the family fighting? Ok, every morning before work my mom comes to my doorway and asks me to aprove of her outfits. Now, today I figured it wouldn't be any differet..now I'm no fashion plate but when my mom came down the stairs wearing khakis, a lacy lacy ribbony dress shirt with an empire waist AND SNEAKERS..I had to say something. She got huffy and said i was dressed terribly (which may have been true but at least i matched...)..thus the chaos began early this morning.

I think the food will be a little lenient today, since my mouth is already watering thinking of the crackers and cheese down there.

Good luck to you all today! :)

Oh, Jen, I feel so sad for you and your family. It has to be exhausting to be told one thing, get your hopes up and then have everything jerked out from under you.

I haven't been in your situation so I don't have any words to comfort you. Just know you and yours are in my thoughts daily. I will hope and pray you are all home together safe and sound soon.

Jen - Oh honey, I am so sorry that DH will not be home as planned. My heart goes out to you all! Maybe a trip back home will help a little! I wish there was something wonderful and inspiring I could say. I am thinking about you!
Hugs!
:grouphug:

2cute - You poor thing, I just get tired thinking about all the running around you are doing. Please find some time to take care of yourself! ;)

Melissa - Sorry to hear about the holiday family fights. Unfortunately we are too far away from our families so holidays are pretty quiet around our house.

As for me, I am on day 3 of stimulation drugs for our IVF cycle. Let me tell you, these are the biggest pain in the butt injections to mix. (Ingrid - tell me if you had this to deal with) Every night I am taking 3 amps of one med and 1 vial of another. They are all in powder form. 3 of them are in these lovely glass amps that I have to break apart. Then I have to draw a liquid solution in the syringe, inject it into one amp of powder, draw that up, inject into the next, draw that up and so on and so on. The first night we screwed it all up and had to start over (~$80 mistake) because the syringe was leaking. The injection itself is no biggie, it's the prep work. On Tues. morning I go in for monitoring to see how my body is reacting to the meds then I go again on Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon....until they decide it's time to do egg retrieval. It's all so exciting and nerve racking at the same time!!! :bb: I am just trying to stay positive and think of the end result and how worth it everything will have been!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Day! I'll talk to you later!
Love Ya!

Well, crap - I was taking those antibiotics for my tooth - the filling fell out of it!!!!! AND I can't get into my dentist until the 21st. They said they would call if they had a cancellation before then. I just HATE tooth problems. Well, I suppose everyone does but I don't like putting so much money into a losing situation.

I also feel crappy so I don't know if that's from the tooth or what.

Nice to see you again Tina. I alway think of you when I hear the word "Nascar". One of our clients name is Tony Steward!!!

BarbPA I don't envy all that mixing you have to do .. keeps me out of the kitchen too!!!!

Jen, how are you today? If you decide to come back here how long would you stay?

I just had a novel idea. I'm starting today doing things the old fashioned way. I'm going to count calories!!! I haven't done that since the middle ages. I've tried every trick in the book and then some, but decided to really bet back to the most basic basics. Tonight Ill check out the food tracker thread.

Barb I have convinced myself of the counting calorie method myself. My problem is actually writing them down! AND I hate having to try and figure out the calories - you know the food that isn't in a serving portion .... or eating out - another problem for counts.

BUT if I want to make any progress I guess I had better get this going!!!

Hey everyone :)

Just checking in. The biopsy went well today, but I am still kind of tipsy from the massive amount of drugs they pumped into my system. The doctor said she didn't see anything suspicious, and she will let me know for sure in one week.

I can barely sit upright, so going to leave again. Take care!

Hi ladies,

Just time for a quick post - DH has dinner almost ready.

Barb.G and Lucky - counting calories is the key to losing weight. The big thing is writing it down. I used to a free online tracker and then switched to BalnceLog which you have to pay for. I really liked it. Sure beats having to look stuff up in a book.

Andria - I'm glad to see that everything went well. {{{{{hugs}}}}}} Take care and get back here when you feel better.

I've got to run for now. Have a good evening!

Hi all.

Sounds like everyone had a good Easter. :)

Not much going on here. Work, home, work, home. lol. Sometimes I think I have an extremely boring life. I need to pep things up. I'm not getting any younger!

My weight loss stats are below. Things are still going great in that dept.

Barb, I remember mixing the amps all too well. I hated the ones with the glass tops that you had to break. I used to wrap them in wash clothes so I didn't cut myself. I had Follistim (which has rubber stoppers) the last time, which is much better. I believe the last time around I did 3 amps am, 3 amps pm, plus a separate shot of Lupron am and pm. The shots really aren't a big deal though, especially since I did mine in my fat belly. I'm hoping you'll be a first time success with IVF like I was. :) I have my fingers crossed for you.

I hope everyone had a good start of the week today.

Talk to you all soon!

Andria -
I am so relieved to hear that the biopsy went well and doesn't look suspicious. I hope the pathology report confirms that all is clear! Get some rest and take care of yourself!

Ingrid - I agree the shots in the belly haven't been bad. It's just the pain in the butt chemistry session we have to go through before hand! I am a little nervous about the HCG and Progesterone shots which will be IM with the 3 foot long needles! :o

Ladies,

Was it just me or was getting back to work even harder this Monday? Goodness, what a tough day! Had no concentration, trouble doing simple tasks, tried to convince my secretary that today really was Tuesday... glad that part of my day is over!

Easter was lovely - had dinner with a dear friend and her family up in New Hampshire and enjoyed the crisp but sunny weather while lounging on her huge deck overlooking the mountains. Dinner was good, too! Tried not to have too many biscuits but other than that I let it go. Will pay for it later.

MissMeliss - why is it that you want to live in England so much? I grew up there and although the language is similar, it really is a very different world. have you ever been? Oh, and don't get me started on Laurence - he really is talented and cute and funny and original and... told you - don't get me started...! :D

Andria - the best of luck to you! Take care of yourself and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. What a relief it will be once you learn that everything is OK.

Counting calories - it really makes sense. After all, whether it's fat, carb or sugar it still has calories and too many of those cause the weight gain. I used to be quite successful at one point doing that. Not a bad idea to get back to that.

All for now. Good luck to everyone, no matter what you are counting/watching. The process matters just as much as the results.

Julia

Hi All! Been awhile since I've really BEEN here. :( Sorry about that. I've been working and so on....same old, same old. I was hoping to get back here more often but that just hasn't happened. I'm still in my little funk. :o I'm hoping a little trip next week will put that spark back in my life that is so lacking right now! ;)

We had a nice Easter. Had my IL's and my mom for dinner. Nothing special. I got a great job with a ham place. I was able to get a $40 ham plus a side of stuffing, a side of green bean casserole and a 10"cheesecake sampler all for $7.00 by the time I was done with the shop. The stuffing and cheesecake are still in the freezer for some other time, so it was a pretty good deal.

I'm still eBaying some. Tried to take this weekend pretty well off since it was Easter. I still have to make a trip to the Post Office tomorrow with a couple of packages though. I'm hoping to get some more clothes photographed and put up after I get back from my trip.

Now that the baby's friends are all back at college, I'm finding that he is away every weekend. Back up to Flint to visit with all the guys. Putting alot of miles on that new car of his.

I've got a big work day tomorrow so I guess I will say Adios. Sorry to not do replies, but have just been away so long that it would be impossible.

Catch ya on the flip side. Love  ya bunches!
