Easy Oven Beef Stew
¾ lb boneless beef round steak, trimmed and cubed
1 tbls cooking oil
4 medium unpeeled potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
5 medium carrots, cut into 1 ½ inch chunks
1 celery rib, cut into 1-inch chunks
1 large onion, cut into 1-inch chunks
1 can (14 ½ oz) chunky stewed tomatoes
3 tbls quick cooking tapioca (from box)
1 tsp browning sauce
pepper to taste
1 cup frozen peas
In Dutch oven, brown the steak in oil. Add next 8 ingredients; cover and bake at 300 degrees for 4-5 hours, stirring twice. Add the peas during the last 30 minutes of baking.

Calories – 260
Total fat – 5 g
Fiber - 2g

That looks like one of the best recipes for stew, ever!
Which browning sauce do you use?
I will definitely try this because I know this is perfect to take to work since they have microwave ovens.

I have this in the crockpot right now, and smell is just amazing. It's all over my apartment!! This recipe is only 5 Points!!
Ingredients:
3/4 pound beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 onions, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 large stalk celery, minced
2 carrots, finely chopped
1/4 pound green beans, cut into 1 inch pieces
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, coarsley chopped
3 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
2 (14.5 ounce) cans fat-free chicken broth
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 (10.5 ounce) cans beef consomme
1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, onions, garlic, celery, carrots,
green beans, mushrooms, and potatoes. Pour in the tomatoes and tomato
sauce. Season with bay leaf, pepper, thyme, and marjoram. Stir together
chicken broth and flour. Pour chicken broth mixture and beef consomme into
slow cooker, and stir.
2. Cover, and cook on Low 6 to 10 hours. Remove bay leaf before
serving.

How much is considered a serving size on this stew recipe? Sounds great, as I use my crock pot often. Many thanks for the recipe!

It doesn't say, and I haven't eaten yet (went out last night for VDay) But I'm assuming around 1.5 cups. Because it makes a lot!!! HTH! :)

3 hour stew
1 1/2 lbs stewing beef or pork
veggies of choice
24 oz tomato juice
1 tbsp corn starch
put everything in a baking dish and bake 3 hours at 350

i forgot to say if you are going to use potatoes, cook them separtly and add when serving the stew. :) glen
