I'm still down in my back... can't hardly get up and down. Been to the quarterly association meeting all weekend. That's when all the churches in our association get together to carry on 'business' and 'fellowship'. Too many people in one place. We went with some other people (actually they went with us since we have a van.) Went out to eat, etc. Went to breakfast this morning (too early for me!) I'm pooped.

Hope you are all having a good weekend. I'm just too tired. I worked all day Wednesday and Thursday getting everything at home done so I could go to this association thing Friday and Saturday and all that has about done me in. Still gotta get through Sunday and then drive to Nashville to the Rheumatologist on Monday. Have to work on Tuesday... maybe I can take Wednesday off and die! :p

Hi Guys, I am still here. Have not eloped or anything yet. oooops. I can't. I am still legally married. Yes, I am in love but still in lust too. This is a different relationship for me. All my life I have been paired with men who reminded me of my father. Emotionally distant. Guarded. Manly men. This guy is the opposite. A talker, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He still buys me flowers and leaves lunch for me at my house at least two times a week. He is sweeping me off my feet. AND...he keeps telling me that I am not fat. That it is all in my head. But, we both went to low carb. I just cheated and had rye bread. We are going to a party tonight and will have prime rib. I want a baked potato with sour cream so bad.
I don't use my home computer much at all. This AOL is a pain. I could not get on today for a while.

Ally- This guy sounds too good to be true..Glad you are still having fun. I am on the low carb and I too crave the pasta and potatoes. I have about 5 more lbs to go so I am trying to hold out.
Rita- Men and their complaints are always hard to deal with. Now when we get a back ache! I have vacumned and mopped the kitchen and bath today and with a aching back. Of course I did very little but fix meals and sit with the heating pad the rest of the day.

I did rest a little this afternoon. Came home from church and laid down for a couple of hours ... didn't want to get back up! We had a lot of visitors at church this morning and tonight, too. I almost didn't go but now I'm glad I did. (They need me for the music!) It's raining a cold rain here ... the worst kind for fibro and arthritis. Hurts me all over! I have to drive to Nashville tomorrow, hope is has stopped raining by then. I hate to drive in the rain, plus I can't take pain pills and drive ... get to sleepy. Going to be a looooong day!

Extreme sympathy for all those with back pain. I can't sleep. And if I take something and DO sleep for longer than a few hours, when I wake up I can't move.

Good morning-I have been sleeping more than 8 hours down here. I hear the North is getting some bad weather. Hope our ice doesn't back up. I think I am going over to the pool this am and Tai Chi this pm. Healthy day. I have to bike ride over. I have a quilt started,just in the early stages. It will take me forever to embroidery the center blocks. I am not consistant with it. I always have more than one project going. I read a lot too. Along with my plan to lose these last few pounds ,it will get done. Probably not in as a timely manner as I would like or should do.

Safe trip to Nashville and back ... no rain. Dr. wants me to have a MRI of my ankle ... couldn't get that set up until Feb. He told me to stop taking the Methotrexate until my back gets better, guess it makes it worse for some reason. Said rest for a week or so and take Robitussin DM for my cough ... said the cough was making it worse (tell me something I didn't already know ... I've been coughing for 26 days now!) Hubby went to town and got me the Robitussin after I got home (even though I tried to get him to just wait and get it on his way home from work tomorrow) and then ORDERED me to take the rest of the week off. So... looks like I'm going to get some much needed rest whether I want it or not!

Mima ... you can use your credit card on ebay. It's usually safe. I do it all the time. I don't like them messing around in my bank account. Actually, I have a bank account set up just for trading on ebay but I usually only use it for selling, not for buying. I try to keep under $200 in it so if anyone gets into it they can't get much! I have a Capital One no hassle card so if anyone does access the numbers I don't have to pay and I've never had a problem. But ... I DID have a problem with my bank account once! I bought some tapes and someone kept 'pinging' my bank account trying to get the exact same amount as the tapes. They tried 8 times. I finally had to just close my ebay bank account out and start all over. That's why I usually use a credit card to buy, most thieves would rather steal from bank accounts than from credit card companies ... it's easier! And it's HARDER for you to get your money back from a bank than from a credit card company!!! I never did get my money back from the bank but I've called credit card companies about fraud and THEY have gotten my money back for me twice!!! Once was a hair product this company kept sending me. I sent it all back and they never did refund my money. It was nearly $200 and the credit card company called them ... they called and apologized and refunded all my money.

I used my debit card # but i still don't have that deposit and the 4 digit 3. Seller is patient-If I don't have it by tpmprrow, I'll send a check to her. I wanted the items by Jill's bd but I can show her a pic. It's going to RAIN today but snow back home.So I won't complain. I have 3 projects going Joanne, a baby quilt, a knitted scarf and I need to start my needlepoint. Yesterday Brad helped the neighbor next door put in a water heater and they took us out for Chinese last night. Only problem was I had a stomache ache during the night and didn't sleep well. People are so nice around here but I guess we are too. Can't believe a whole month has gone by. I went swimming yesterday morning and Tai Chi in the afternoon. LOVE that class-very relaxing and good stretching-doesn't hurt my ribs which is so important. We are quite far from the clubhouse so I ride my bike but my butt hurts-gotta fix the seat somehow. It is 57 degrees here at 10 am . It was supposed to get in the low 40's/high 30's but I don't think it did.

Hi. Meme, sorry you are laid up with your back. Not nice. Mine has been going in spurts of pain, but it seems it is ALWAYS there anymore. Arthritis is having a fun time back there, I guess. It is better than it was a month ago. Today, the sciatic nerve is giving me grief - bigtime. Pain down the whole darn leg and into my foot!!!!! I guess I will put some ice on it. I was awake more than asleep from the pain.

Mima - glad you are sleeping good. It is so important. I hope you get to meet Joanne. That would be nice.

Joanne - 57 degrees is cold for you, isn't it? The other night it was 40 below zero here and the daytime highs have only been -30 below. It is like living in a deepfreeze at the moment. This sill has a few days of life in it before we move on to our heatwave. This is when 0 feels like heaven :lol: The extreme cold should kill of a lot of flu bugs and such.

Rita - Have some good days at work. Too bad you had to go out in the nasty weather. We haven't had much snow yet, but that is going to come when it starts to warm up again.

Candice - where are you? Are you doing ok.

I am NOT going outside the door again today. Haven't been out, except Monday night, went for some groceries. Hubby has been taking my car because it is pretty new and a chance of less trouble, so I am carless. I can't drive his as it is a standard shift. Never did learn how to drive one of those.

I haven't been driving at all because we only have Brad's Dodge 2500-it's so big. Seems to be working out-he takes me where I need to go-not too many extra places. Just got a call that the ice is backing up on our roof-person who is supposed to plug in the heated cables didn't but now they are plugged in. Have to tell them to plug it in when it snows-don't want all our hard work and money down the drain. Thank God someone went to the house-the pastor who is sanding the floors. Went to the spelling bee-she won agai!n!!It was awesome-they challenged her because the announcer mispronounced the word which gae her a hint but she spelled another word too. Winning words-precipice,chelate, narcissus!!On to the County March 25th. Hubby is making me a laundry chute so we can put the dirty clothes under the trasiler without going outside. Gaithers tonight. My back hurts too!!Using a heating pad. Finished all my ironing that I brought with me and rearranged the teeny closets. Good morning. The roof leaked at home-heater cables weren't on soon enough-hopefully it's solved. My back is acting up-went to take dog in and it went in spasm. Going to try the Capracin. Brad is putting in a laundry chute but having a little trouble-it's in a small space next to the toilet. We had haircuts yesterday-I miss my hairdresser but mine's ok. The price was right. Alison is sick-too much stress from the spelling bee. My brother has walking pneumonia!!!Winter!!!The temps change so much during thje day and night, We have the heat on during the night and the airconditioning during the day. Mima- Welcome to Florida weather...We need the rain though. Florida sand drains right off. I live on a hill,so to speak. It rains here and two days later it is dry..
One more pound gone.. I just have to watch my portion control.. I still have my backing giving me a problem. These things take their time going away.

Well, I have been in the house since Monday - haven't left once, except for 15 min. to run to the store on Monday night. It has been just too cold, with temps. hitting 40 below zero and warming up to 35 below zero during the day. I think today is one of the first days we MIGHT get out of the deepfreeze. Soups on come on over!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomato Rotini 2pts Serves 12 (1 cup servings)
Prep 15 Min cook 9 HR + 20 Min (Slow Cooker meal)

4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
4 cups tomato juice
1 TBS dried basil leaves
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp pepper
2 medium carrots sliced (1 cup)
2 medium stalks celery sliced (1 cup)
1 medium onion chopped (1/2 cup)
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 1/2 cups uncooked rotini pasta (4 1/2 ounces)
Shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired

1. Mix all ingriedents except pasta and cheese in 5 quart slow cooker.
2. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8-9 hrs.
3. Stir in pasta and increase to high temp, cover and cook for 20 minutes or untill tender. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.

Daughter had to go in the hospital tonight. Blood clot in her leg so she has to stay completely off her feet for a few days. I'll have my hands full this week. Hubby went over to her house and got her things. I am having to wash some of her PJs and her robe and then take everything to her in the morning. I'll have the kids tomorrow night because her husband has a class from 6 to 9. Guess we'll just have to do the best we can. Don't know how much more of this I can handle.

What a game-and I think we won some money because we had the correct score at the end on a pool. I only bet 10$. May have won a hundred-at least $0. Absolutely hated the half time show-didn't even see the part about Janet Jackson and he breast. What about us old decent folks-I like to see fireworks and dance formations. Mima- I say Janet Jacksons performance..That is just what it was in my eyes. It was a act well planned. Justin reached across her and pulled the breast part of her costume away . Willie Nelson was not on long enough..I have tickets to see him next week.
It was a good game though. I felt sorry for the losers.
Meme- They know you will be there . My kids are much the same. I did my share of babysitting. I just wish my son would have had a child I could take care of. Daughter is in pretty bad shape... somebody has to be there for her. Her husband is home throwing up and can't do anything. Somebody probably needs to be there for him but I refuse to go inside the house. He has 2 perfectly healthy parents so I feel like that's their job!!! His folks never do much when they are in 'need' ... it's ALWAYS me they call on so I'm not going to risk getting that virus unless it becomes absolutely necessary ... like if one of the kids gets it or something! I have Jenna tonight and tomorrow and probably at least tomorrow night ... don't know beyond that. Had to get Ross after school, too. Give them baths, get them something to eat and then take them to see their mom. Then we took Ross home. His teacher lives right across the street from them so she is taking him to school tomorrow. She has been best friends with Paula since they were in 4th grade.

I helped Paula take a 10 minute shower this morning and she was hurting so bad after I got her back in the bed she had to have a pain pill. I tried to get her to stay in the bed but she just HAD to have that shower! The Dr. said the blood clot is really deep in her leg and she'll have to keep it up for quite a while. She's on Coumadin and he said there's a good chance she may have to take it the rest of her life... plus she had to GO OFF her birth control pills. If she has another baby I'll kill her!!! I know... I'll just ship it to Joanne!!! :p

My Dr. called me in some Benzonatate for my cough ... I was up almost ALL NIGHT coughing last night. I tried to take a nap after I got back from the hospital this afternoon but the phone rang three times and then I started coughing again! I'm soooo tired. I'm going to bed and see if I can sleep a little before baby Jenna gets me up in the morning!

Hope everybody's backs are better. I don't think mine is going to get better until I can get rid of this cough... my ribs are really sore, too.

My back is still hurting-have to do something about it-whirlpool, swim. If I was home I would get massage or go to chiro. I must have dyslexia-I had the numbers backwards so we didn't win any money. The thing about that halftime show us that fanilies were watching. I do not choose to watch MTV-although I watch a couple of soaps. I remeber wholesome shows=I'd like to teach the world to sing-etc. Funny thing is that was Michael Jackson. Debbie, nice to see you made it over here. You mentioned in your one post that you had read where FM and ADD might be related. I have done a LOT of research on FM and have never heard this before. I also have Osteoarthritis in my back and hip and knee, and that seems to give more trouble than the FM, although at times they both get going pretty good.

Meme - hope you and your family are feeling better. It just keeps on and on for you, doesn't it?

Candice - hope your computer is working better. Keep the cookie monster away, girl!

Joanne - I hope your back is feeling better. It's been awhile now, perhaps you need to go see about it.

Well it DID offend me and I wrote CBS, MTV and NFL and told them so. It wasn't just Janet but the whole halftime show. I don't think our kids should have to be exposed to all that crotch grabing and lesbian sex junk on primetime and especially during the superbowl. CBS should have expected something like that when they let MTV sponser the halftime show. I'd like to see them all clean up their act and they're not going to do it until some Christian parents get offended and tell them so!

You'll never believe this - they kicked my daughter out of the hospital because her insurance refused to pay for her to stay longer than 3 days with what she has! Can you believe that? She is still on bed rest, has to give HERSELF injections in her stomach everyday ($100 a shot) and has to drive to the Dr. every day for blood work WITH A BLOOD CLOT IN HER LEG!!! I'm about ready to give up on the world. It's gotten out of control!!! I figure there are three groups of people: those wanting thrills, those wanting money and those wanting power. (And some wanting all three!)

Meme that is just my point...CBS is blaming the performers and they should have known that having Mtv put the whole thing on it would be like it was. CBS is trying not to take any blame...........I think the whole TV sceen should be cleaned up but it will never happen so if you do not want to get offended throw your tv out! I just figure, life is too short to get upset about something so stupid and the news media plays up all this stuff..they should be reporting on the great game and not the lowsy(sp) halftime show! You are right, having MTV put it on just opened a can of worms. Course Mtv and cbs are both owned by Viacom. Alison has bronchitis-glad she got some med. My body is so stiff-swim today. The whirlpool was great but the chlorine wasn't. We are here til about the 15th of April-at least til after Easter. the baby will be born the first week in April. His last ultrasound-in color no less-has him looking just like his dad. Since Al looks like him too, it's sad for Jill. She does all the work. Anyway, Al was a beautiful baby-light blonde hair and blue eyes. He had his thumb in his mouth-another picture showed him holding his foot. I'll probably cry when he is born. Feel good everyone. Well girls the media found another story to pound on. The rapes amd murders were boring a long time ago.A young girl 12 years old was abducted this past weekend. Now that is something that needs to be told about,so they can find her..I hope an Angel is watching over her..
Meme- You are right..Things have gotten way out of hand in this country.I hope that your daughter can get the health care she needs. That is the way hospitals are doing things these days. Who do we blame? the insurance or the hospitals that can't get their money from the insurance companies. It all boils down to money...
Happy- My back seems better. I walked for the first time in a week yesterday. I hope to get to meet Mima.. It is exciting to think about meeting a computer friend.

Candice- I was more upset with Chris Rock than with Janet J.. There were letters in the paper this a.m from families who have boys in Irag who stated that they were upset with his display of the flag.I think those careers are going to be in guestion.

Well Debbie, I read some of what that said and it sounds plausible. I read the checklist but I only have maybe 3 things... have to have 6 to be ADD. And one of mine (forgetting where you put things) is more from getting older I'm afraid... didn't used to do that! :p Gee... I wish there WAS a magic pill I could take that would make all the pain go away and give me back my energy! :( I'm glad it is working for some people, though! If I even THOUGHT I had ADD I'd go to the trouble of finding the right combination of meds. It would be worth it if it works!!! But... Alas, I can sit through a 2 or 3 hr. movie without even going to the bathroom. I NEVER interrupt someone when they are talking to me. I can sit and read for hours ... basically I'm really a calm person and always have been. Do you think you have ADD?

Hi Debbie, that was an interesting article. Like Meme, however, I am not a hyper person. I don't have ADD - don't have any of the symptoms.

I was thinking in the case of ADD, FM can be a secondary illness to it. That is what I think mine is, with Osteoarthritis being the main culprit.

Interesting theory, and I think a lot of people that FM are Type A personalities, which could be ADD people.

Well Debbie, that stuff was interesting and glad it worked for that person but I really think it is a very individaul thing, find what works for you kinda thing. I have been the pill route and supplement route and it was not a pleasant experience! I do not have ADD (do not even fit any of the criteria) but I am a type A personality and do drive myself to get things done on occasion but don't we all? I do think what we eat plays a big roll.......but that is hard to control;) :lol: ;) This is the first I have heard of the ADD and Fibro connection ...do you think you have ADD??????????

Joanne.....I just get so mad at the media for focusing on stupid stuff....it was not that way in the old days! Bill Clinton made O r a l S e X a causal thing to do for teens these days, they say they would rather do that than a kiss, a kiss is too personal...that is just disgusting to me...and the way the kids dress these day.....ridiculous, So seeing a breast on the tube was no big deal to me but the contnet of the songs and dress and movemnts now that's another sotry! Everyone is focusing on the breast is my point and that was not the worst thing..am I making any sense...they say it was family time and it should not have happend..well I say what was the family doing watching that kind of a show to begin with! The whole halftime was a big mistake if the Superbowl is a family function! When our kids were little if something came on the tube we did not approved of we flipped the channel or made them leave the room (there was alway something we did not want them to see and we do not watch "bad stuff") you just can't get way from it in this world so you pretty much have to live with it the best you can. The Bible says it will get worse!

Our local media is focusing on some priests, I do not like seeing that either, seems like they shattered many a life with their pedifilia(sp). I would just like to wipe out all the bad in the world (we all would I know)and seeing one breast seems like nothing. I blame it on the media is what I am trying to say..after all they did mess up the election;) Hope the find that missing girl!

Candice - I didn't watch the SuperBowl, so, of course, I didn't see the half-time show. I am sick and tired of watching all these singers and their "moves". I guess they all feel they have to have the "edge" to be known, and that is why they do it. You would think this would backfire, but the young ones don't seem to care, and they are the ones that buy most of the music.

I watched Oprah that day - the day they were talking about 11 and 12 year olds having sex. Oral sex was being performed in the back of the school bus. They don't even know each others name for heaven sakes. I don't know what this world is coming to. Like you, I monitored TV for my kids. I must live in a really different place than all these people, because I don't even know where these little kids ( alive for only 11 years) learn this stuff. It is just plain sick!!!

I guess I spelled the name wrong..My sister and I met Mima for lunch yesterday(sat). We had a nice meeting. It was a little noisy where we went to eat but all in all it was nice. Her hubby Brad dropped her off .He went to the cultural center in Largo for a train show. We took her to meet him after lunch. What a nice lady!.. I really enjoyed getting to meet her..Just imagine if we all could get together some day!
Now I have to get back on program. I didn't like the scale this A.M. At this rate I will never reach the goal I want to. Although I think a lot is fluid.

How exciting Joanne. It is great to finally meet the people we talk to. We don't even have to ask a whole pile of questions because we already know lots about them. I met one gal on another site I go to and have visited with her twice. We also talk on MSN or YAHOO.

Rita, hope that sun comes shining through for you today. I don't like a lot of days without the sun either. Usually we don't have many. This place is known as Sunny Alberta, and we have more sunshine hours than most places.

I have been wondering for sometime now whats wrong with my brain :?: I have a hard time concentrating on things at work sometimes. I will forget what I am supposed to be doing in the middle of a task. I do interrupt people because I will think of something that I need to tell them while they are talking to me and I am afraid I will forget it if I wait. If someone is explaining something to me and it is taking awhile I don't listen to what they are saying after awhile. I feel that I need to stay busy all the time. I can't remember so much. I will start something at home, such as a quilt, lose interest in completing it after a short time. When I read the symptoms on the website it really hit home.

I quit a job that I had worked at for 14 years and started doing something completely new and these problems have been magnified so much during this time. It has made starting a new job much harder. I was used to knowing what I was doing before.

Debbie, some of that is FM. The fogginess, the not remembering. Pain can cause some of these things to happen, along with the meds you take. I have found that by increasing Omega 3,6 and 9 oils, the fogginess and memory is much better. See I forgot, I wasn't finished :lol: Fatigue plays a huge roll in how much your memory is impaired as well.

I guess we can't blame everything on age or our ailments. I have been forgetful for years. My daughter swears she has alzhiemers. :lol: I just tell her she has too much on her mind. Most of the time it is the stress of every day life.
I thought I would let you guys know that Mima was having computer problems and that is probably why we haven't heard from her lately.
I walked today..My back is much better. My eating is somewhat not so good.. I was in hopes of making goal this week,but, I don't think it is going to happen.. :( I don't know what I am thinking. I think I am just sandbagging myself..I think my body wants to stay where it is..This constant thinking about food and what not to eat is really getting me down lately..I give up so much that I am beginning to feel sorry for myself.No Good.
The best part of the day today was walking to the beach..

Rita- Walking to the beach renews me. I will usually go when I need to relax the most. This week has been really difficult for me . I have tried to stay on program because I had only 1 3/4 lbs to lose. Well as usual in my life things just went backward. I know it will be a gain this week. I ate out 3 times and that didn't help at all. I am one of those people who just can't manage that.

I went to see Willie Nelson last night . It was a nice 2 hours. Ofcourse I am a country music fan. I don't go to the concerts though too often. My son gave us the tickets for our 50th anniversary. I bought an extra one so he could go with us. My hubby doesn't do too well driving at night so that made it better for us. I drive but he is a royal pain about it. The stress I don't need.
The weather down here is nice . It will change this weekend. That's Florida..

I just got back on the computer-after I deleted and reloaded it I found out that it was the telephone line. THEY JUST FIXED IT!!!!! It was at the company and they coukd have done it 3 days ago. I had a great time meeting Joanne-she is young and pretty and very nice. Now don't go disagreeing with me Joanne-felt like we had known each other a long time. And Joanne is skinny too. Her sister is very nice-a real go=getter. Boy, have I missed this. Yeah, let's have a reunion in FL-Meme, make the plans!!!!!Ha!!!Boy that would be fun!!Brad is still remodeling the camper but I have a place to put the rubbish inside a door-and soon will have a new closet and computer desk which will double as a sewing machine table. I started on the baby quilt-what a lot of sewing. It's a square that you keep sewing a diagonal line a quarter of an inch away from the first one.Let you know-gotta catch up on my other sites. Thanks Mima,I find it hard to picture myself as skinny. You are right about Eleni being a go getter.. We have been very close since she was born. I am 13 years older than she is. I always said she was my birthday present. She was born on the 8th of March and my birthday is the 10th.I love her a lot...I am glad you got your computer problem taken care of.
