Another cold day here! Brrrrr! I don't think I'll be out walking today, don't tell my dog...it's just too darn icy! I've got to get out to the store this morning, pick up a few things for Dad, get down there and back in time to make dinner for my "beach buddy." He leaves for work around 5:00, so I have to find things that are quick, SBD friendly, and filling! I think I'm going to try the Beef Stroganoff tonight and serve it over mashed cauliflower. I made Grilled Salmon last night, it was excellent! Quick and yummy too, I will post the recipe on the recipe thread.

It's good to see so many coming out of "hiding!"

Terri...I was going to start a new thread after I made my coffee. You beat me to the punch...but I posted before you did!

I'd better get moving...I'll be back later...Have a great day, all!

Grilled salmon! I had that last night too! I am anxious to see your recipe.

I got a walk in already, I walked for 20 minutes, think that is a good start. I need to find my pedometer to keep track of miles.

Hi Gals!

I have been a lazy couch potato this morning, but that is all changing as soon as I finish this post --- I have on my gym clothes and I am headed out the door to go workout!!! After that I am going to take a nice hot shower and DH and I are going to run some errands. I think we'll just have a fun day and do the house cleaning tomorrow. :)

Just another posting/opening windows hint. When you are ready to post just hold down your shift button when you click on the reply button and it will open a new reply window. Then, you can hold down your Alt + Tab buttons and click back and forth between the two windows. :dizzy:

Thin - I love Josh Duhamel - I never saw him on All My Children, but we always watch Las Vegas! He is such a cutie-pie! :) I should have warned you about Dunkin Donuts Apple Fritters - they are so yummy!! The only good thing I have going for me is that my gym is right next to Dunkin Donuts so it is very difficult to go in there without looking at the gym and feeling major guilt! :o Thanks for the baby advice! You are too funny!

Okay - As much as I want to stay and chat with all of you I have my motivation to get out the door and I don't want to lose it! I'll catch you later!

Hugs,
Barb

:bravo: Barb!

DH and I toured the Y this morning. I am really thinking about joining. We can join and not pay the $100 membership fee. DH, of course, acted stupid afterward and won't even consider using it. :censored: Part of my waffling is that I have all this stuff at home. I do use it. But am interested in having a free trainer available and having access to an eclipical (sp?) machine that I have never tried. I was hoping for him to want to use the pool for exercise. I need swimming lessons. I guess too, I'm feeling like I need help in getting 30 pounds off this year. Last year it was so slow and while I'm not looking for rapid, more than 2 pounds a month would be nice.

I'm thinking about using the 3 guest passes. And see how the budget works.

Too much "thinking" and not enough "doing".

My goodness where is everyone today??

Teri...we joined the "Y" and I love it! It only costs us $50 joining fee and $48 a month for the family membership. We get free childcare in the childwatch which is awesome. My son loves it! Today we let him play in there while we exercised. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and a few arm machines to tone up my bat wings. Then I went and got him and we went swimming for an hour. He just loves to swim. He is a little fish!

Well After all that we went to Sam's Club and came home. I have been sitting on the computer doing school work and stuff and when I tried to get up my rear was sore! Not use to all that exercise!! LOL Progress though! I have had a good week food wise so I am looking forward to the scale monday night. I just hope I'm not disappointed!

Well I am exhausted now so I will head to bed and catch up with you all tomorrow. We are suppose to have lots of snow and I don't have anywhere to go so I will be finishing laundry and cleaning house and finishing up my school work for the week!

TTFN Love you all!
Michelle

Today has been a wierd day, I've felt bad, and sorta out of it all day. When I got up DH was gone, and I never heard him get up or get dressed or anything. I haven't slept that soundly in years. Dh had a breakfast meeting so I had to go to work without him and I had a hard time concentrating. And I've been sluggish all day. Since we got home, I've just layed around. It's rainy here today, maybe that's it.

Kat: you said you started SouthBeach. Is this your first try at it, or have you done it before? If you have not tried the White Chili, give it a try. It's great. I had my Bunko group at my house last night and that's what I served and no one knew it was "diet food".

Thin: I did get your email, and still trying to digest all the info in it. I think it's too involved for my mom, and although I think it would be fun, I don't have time to get it going right now. But thanks again for sending it.

To all of you who are feeling bad right now, just remember that tomorrow will be a better day. (or not)

I've lost so many post here lately I don't remember what I've posted, or what I've meant to post, but incase I haven't mentioned it, I did get another call from the research study lady, and they do have another machine that can do my MRI so I'm set up for a screening visit on Monday Feb 2th. I go in fasting and have a complete physical and lots of blood work, then it all that comes back okay I will go for the MRI of the liver and pancrease, and it that's okay I will be given the test medication and instructions on how to proceede for the next 8 months. Wish me luck, after the letdown I had over the weight limit thing, I've decided no to get excited about it again until I actually have the medication in my hands, and then to make myself believe Ihave the real thing and not the placebo.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

How is everyone?

I have had a sluggish day too. I just didn't feel like doing anything. My eyes feel like they can barely hold themselves open. I finally figured out about an hour ago that maybe it is my sinuses. (told you I was sluggish)

I am watching the Dr. Phil & Oprah shows from Monday about weight loss. The people so far on Dr. Phil have really lost a lot of weight. I want to be like them. Like Dr. Phil says - I have to change from the inside out.

I have had a tough week - my 14 year old niece passed out and is doctoring to find out why, an old friend died, a friends wife died and another friend was rushed to the hospital because she was bleeding internally. I think that is enough of that to last the whole rest of the year.

ok.. I am giving this a try Barb... I hit the shift/reply.
Hmmm Alt + tab does NOTHING. Hmmm
BUT... the shift/reply brought up two windows. I just have to look back and forth . That is even BETTER than alt/tab. :D: COOL !!!!! Thanks !!!!

I am not going to even try to remember what was on the last thread.
I will just go from here... except.. GIRL SCOUT cookies.. I do remember those. LOL Sandy... we are only taking orders here too. They will be delivered in March. So ... so far I am safe. LOL I remember when I was a girl scout leader I had a friend who lived in Nebraska... and they did not sell the girl scout calendars at all. Can you believe that.... they sold peanuts. Don't they know that is a boyscout item not a girl scout. LOL

Terri... thanks for starting the new thread. I had to chuckle at your post... quote...interested in having a free trainer available That monthly fee... is not free. LOL I know what you meant ... no additional fee for a traniner... but it is still not free. LOL
I also loved another quote of yours... Too much "thinking" and not enough "doing" Boy did you step on my toes there. Ouch!! But they are very wise words. You certainly inspire me.

Kat... my husband is going to love you if you get me to cook some of these dinners you are speaking of. They sound good and I need to improve our variety of lc eating.

Mary... What a cute little boy. I too have a red headed granddaughter. Fiesty little girl. LOL I am so sorry to hear about your stepmother. I never really had anyone close to me die before until my parents both within a few months ... it has changed my whole outlook on death. I can't explain how... but it is very different that before.
Joyce .. great job walking today. :bravo: I think I would like a pedometer too if it is not feeling stupid on my leg. LOL

Barb ... again thanks for this shift/reply trick ... I LOVE IT !!!
And you and Thin quit talking about Apple Fritters at Dunkin donuts !!!
I had never hear of Krispy Kreme and you guys got my curiosty going and I now I am guilty of too many. I haave never hear of DD/ Apple fritters... and now I want to go driv and find one. :tape: LOL
But I am VERY PRoud of your mission accomplished!!!

Michelle.. sounds like you and your son had a wonderful time ... apart and together.
Good luck monday at Weigh in.

Barbg... I definitely want the recipe for White Chili !!!
sounds like you might be getting into that study afterall... but even if not.. you got a LOT of free testing. :)

Lucky... you have certainly had a rough week. {{ HUGS }} Some days it seems like it pours rain. I hopee your tomorrows are better.

Okay.. my daughter is here waiting on me... I have got to go.
Be back later... well maybe. LOL

Hey everyone! :)

I'm back! Yes, this is a good thing. This last week was so disgustingly busy it was insane. But I have both jobs going now, my article and recipes on what the heck to do with your leftover easter eggs is turned in, and I've spent sososo many hours with my brother and his family just returned from China! Oh yeah, I even managed to get a party done on Friday afternoon. This is important, because those parties mean I'm heading to OK in the spring or not!

I'm going to make breaky for the girls and myself really fast, but I'm going to work hard to get back here and catch you all up on my life. I've at least managed to catch up on all the reading. :)

Andria

P.S. I didn't see a message from Pam anywhere. Pam, if you are reading this, I wanted to let you know how much I miss your presence here. Your positive attitude got me through so many hard moments this last year. I'd love to help return the favor if you are still having a rough time. *HUGS*

How do I possibly catch up? I feel like I've been a total slacker when it comes to posting lately, but I've just felt out of sorts this week. :dizzy:

Being sick carried over into Monday and when I weighed in Tuesday, I'm happy to report a 4.6 lb. loss. Of course I'm not sure how much of that I'm actually going to gain back now that I'm actually putting some food into my system instead of just spewing it out.

Tomorrow, I am re-joining WW. I've got the $$ all saved and I'm doing the pre-pay option. I'm a little nervous about the Fast Track and only doing 20 pts. per day....but if something is called the Fast Track and it has the number 20, how can it possibly be bad?

Our Walmart Superstore just opened up on my end of town and I'm really excited about it. The only reason I would ever even go into town was to go to Walmart or to go to work and now I've got the largest Walmart Superstore in the state of Tennessee exactly only 1.4 miles from my house! Too cool!

I need to work on my exercising. Even though I've been eating better, exercise is the one thing I have been truly slacking on. I know I was sick for several days so the last thing I felt like doing was exercising, but it is now time to kick some bootay! :strong:

By the way, do any of you guys watch American Idol? I love it!

ANDRIA !!!! You put such a HUGE smile on my face when I saw your Beautiful picture on our picture page.
THANK YOU !!!!! I have waited YEARS and I feel like it is Christmas Morning. :D :D :D Your smile is soooo contagious !!!! I hope you go around smiling a lot.. because you could change the world with that smile.

Tina... glad you are feeling better. I have to agree.... Fast Track and 20 points has got to be an omen.

I don't have anyone else who has posted since my last post... so you guys better get busy and give me something to reply to.

I am still ON PROGRAM ... just thought I would share that. :smug:

 Hi all!!! Hope you don't mind someone new joining the group! I really hope not since I've already added my Bio.

But here's just a tidbit about me since my bio is up. I'm 30, married with 2 kids.. Nathan is 6 & Courtney "Kaylie" is 5. I live in London, Kentucky.. it's in the southeastern part of the state & right now brrrry brrrry cold. I've been doing Atkins but realized it wasn't for me so I'm starting WW tomorrow.

Tina -- I take it you are a Tony Stewart fan? Figured from the Fast Track & the 20 that you were.

Well, I'm gonna have to run. Kiddos are waking up from their nap & I've got stuff I gotta get done. Talkatcha'll later!!!

katrinabgood
01-25-2004, 07:08 PM
Tina, did you see how our newbie picked right up on the Tony references? She could be a keeper, huh? Anyway, jump right in and join the fun, Stephanie! Good luck in your efforts!

I'm here to report first hand on the two recipes that I posted, having made both this weekend. :T :T :T !! I made the Unstuffed Cabbage last night, using ground turkey, omitted the barley it called for, and added a can of diced tomatoes instead of the tomato soup. Oh yeah, and a couple packets of Splenda for good measure...love that stuff! It was so good and my very picky son, who swore that he could not eat it because "there's tomatoes in it," :p ate TWO bowls! I served his over rice, but had mine as it was. Very good! Tonight, I made the Beef Stroganoff and served it over cauliflower, chopped small and steamed til soft. Very tasty! The only change I made was to use more than 1 lb of meat, (maybe 1.5, 2?) and cream cheese (about 1/3 of a package) instead of the Laughing Cow cheese called for. And a whole package of mushrooms...because I like mushrooms! Yum. I had a nice salad on the side and I'm now very full and satisfied!
So there you have it. Dh was impressed too. He's just glad I cooked something/anything!

My son was at my sister's, so after work dh and I went to Perkins for breakfast this morning. I had an egg white omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes. When the waitress asked if I'd like "pancakes, toast, or a muffin on the side," I told her, "Well, I'd like ALL of the above, but I'll pass." She laughed and said, "Oh, hash browns then?" "Nope...just some tomato juice." I surprised myself! Even more surprising is that I was full when I was done! Really!

I still have to exercise, (Beach Body dvd) take my vitamins, and my goals will be met for today! It feels good to be on track again.

Sonny just came in and wants to plays cards...so I've got a lot to do AND sleep before work tonight. Gotta run!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Stephanie... WELCOME !!! We LOVE getting newcomers. All of us have been one at one time or another. LOL It won't take anytime at all and you will feel like one of the family. :) I enjoyed reading your bio. I am looking forward to getting to know you.. and being 30 isn't that bad. LOL A whole lot better than being PAST 50 like me. LOL

Kat... I appreciate your summary of your recipes. I will try them.
I really got a kick out of your husband being happy you cooked... anything. Mine is the same way. He loves home cooking... and I hate to cook at home. LOL I am sure that is part of my downfall at weight loss.

Okay... this is going to be last PLEA for Pam, and Jen, and Judy, to come out and play. I feel like a pest. BUT WE REALLY REALLY REALLY MISS YOU !!! PLEASE COME OUT AND PLAY !!!!

Okay... gotta run. I am having a good day and want to keep it going.
See you all later.

It's been a lazy day around here. Slept late, watched some tv, did a little housework....Hubby is begging me to play a computer game with him so I'll just be here for a minute.

We are expecting a snow storm tonight. I am hoping for a good one - that way I can work from home tomorrow! :)

Good evening ladies!

DH has got a fire going, we've just had supper, and we're watching the Golden Globes "arrival" show. We'll switch over to HBO soon. But its nice to be settled in for the evening. We had ice last night so we didn't try to get out and go to church (bad, bad :o ). I was lazy this morning but spent the afternoon working at my desk downstairs. Its a never ending job to keep the paper under control. I'm too anal to through it all away.

I was all set on being lazy but forced myself to do some exercise. I got 40 minutes in on the spinner using my Cycle Switzerland video. Then I tried the Winsor Pilates for Abs. I've got a long way to go to be able to do it all but I was able to do more than I remembered having done my first time several months ago. I tried it once but don't think I ever tried it again.

Tina - I love the Fast Track exercise DVD they give out. I don't recall anything about only 20 points though. I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope we see more of you around here again (and I don't mean scalewise! )

Kat - I'll have to try those recipes. DH loves stroganoff. Good job at Perkins. Its amazing how satisfied you can be with healthy, smaller portions if we will just make the smart choices. I'm looking forward to sharing biking stories as soon as it gets warm enough to ride outside. :)

2Cute - Allright, yes I know the monthly fee isn't "free"!!!! I'm so proud of you for getting back on track. Are you back to swimming yet? Huh???????? I'm just razzing you as I know you've been so busy with wedding stuff.

Stephanie - Welcome to the group! Just jump right in and you'll fit in the group in no time. :D

Andria - Thanks for sharing a picture! Good luck with your new jobs. Maybe life can settle down a little bit since you have the job hunting behind you.

Lucky - Wow, you did have a tough week. I'm so sorry about the loss of friends and the others having to go to the hospital. {{{{hugsss}}}}

Barb.G - I hope you had a better day today.

Mary - I'm sorry to hear about your stepmother. How old is she and your dad?

Michelle - I don't know how you keep up with everything and school. You are certainly an example of what you can accomplish if you just get up and get going!

I better post this before I lose it. Hello to everyone! Have a great evening!

Evening, everyone! It's been a pretty uneventful day. Yesterday, however, was pretty busy. We started out with breakfast with some friends. They have been calling all through the holidays to get together and I just kept begging off since I felt so cruddy. Finally yesterday we were able to redeveous for breakfast and a nice visit.

Then we went to my IL's. Haven't seen them since Christmas either. We weren't going to spend much time there, but we got yacking and 4 hours later we headed home.

#1 Son had to work until 5:00 so we waited for him to get home and then headed out to a steakhouse dinner that I had a job for. We all enjoyed the meal. The boys cut out early because they wanted to catch a movie. Then they met up with a couple of "the baby's" friends from school and saw a second feature.

Honey and I headed home where I watched TV and he proceeded to fall asleep in the chair. We both slept until noon today and then I worked on some tax issues this afternoon. I have to file 1099 forms for two girls this year for the first time. In the past I would farm out a job here and there, but this year I've had two girls that have worked alot for me so that means tax papers. :(

Jen: Good to see you! GREAT job getting that 4 pounds off so quickly. :bravo: Did you go skating? That definitely would count as exercise!

Terri: GREAT job on your loss as well! How was the party? Good, I hope. *I don't think anyone has posted Chocolate Merigues before, but I do have a Richard Simmons cookbook here that has a merigue recipe with alot of flavor variations. We'll see how close they are.

Katrina: Did the dog notice she didn't get a walk???? * The salmon recipe sounded great! Nice job being back on track and meeting goals. Good job!!!

Mary: What a cutie your nephew is!!! Sorry to hear about your stepmom. * Stopped in chat about 8:55 and no one was there.

Joyce: I would be happy with myself if I walked for 20 minutes. I'm hoping to get back to Curves tomorrow. I've been away too long.

Barb: Well, I am glad that someone else has seen those Dunkin Donuts Apple Fritters. Although now I think we all should forget about them! Great job, going to the gym.

Michelle: Hope you got your homework done....and all the rest of the chores you were trying to get done.

Barbg: Glad to hear that you have another shot at the Research Project. I hope it comes through for you. * I love your Valentines signature, so pretty.

Lucky: OMG, you've had a horrible week! [[[hugs]]] I'm sorry to hear about all the deaths. Geez. And your niece passing out? Is this the one you are so close to? I hope they figure out what happened, and it's nothing serious.

Andria: It's good to see you. Sounds like you had a very harrowing week! Hope life gets settled down for you real soon. And PLEASE, book more parties so we can meet you in April!!!

Tina: WOW, big loss. Too bad it had to come off the way it did. I don't think I like your method. I'm glad you're headed back to WW. You know it works. Now you and I can get back on track together.

Stephanie: Welcome to our humble little area. We always love newbies. Stop in often, we're glad to have you. There are a few of us here that are doing WW. A couple low carb, a couple are at the "Beach". There's all kinds of support for you here. * I think I'll continue to refer to you as "Stephanie" since Bobsgal signs her name just "Steph".

Steph: Good to see you. Sorry you just peeked in and bopped back out. Hope one of these days you'll get back to visit for awhile. *You're right, we haven't seen Natalie in a long while.

You know who else we're missing? Tracy from SC. Where are you???

Well girls, I think I'm all caught up again. Thanks so much to those of you who have posted pics and recipes. Keep 'em coming.

We're supposed to have a couple more inches of snow tomorrow again. The guys who have plowing businesses are getting their work out the last couple of weeks. We were supposed to have freezing rain and sleet today but it didn't come.

I have WI (not Wisconsin) tomorrow. We'll have to see how that goes. Not much looking forward to it. :( See you all later. Love  ya bunches!

My step-mother is 74. My father was killed in a car accident in 1961. My step-mother was in the hospital at the time after having a baby that died. Daddy was on the way to the hospital to get her when he had his wreck. He was 29. She never remarried. I have a sister and a brother from the marriage.

Hope all of you have a great day.

Good morning!

Get up and get to moving!! :drill: And quit talking about those  things for DD before I have to go find one! :D

Nothing much to say this morning. I did get up and do my toning exercises. We are having winter weather this morning and I really wish I could call in sick. I haven't called in sick in over a year. DH seems to think that since he can't really call in sick because he's PT and doesn't get paid; that I can't do it even if I get sick days. Narrow minded in my view!

Tina - I did pull out my fast track meal planner and yes indeedy it does say they are 20 points. I thought my leader said you add food where needed to have enough points. I didn't get that you were limited to the 20 in order to get rapid weight loss. She presented it as a menu planner to get you started. I'm interested in hearing what your leader has to say.

Hello to everyone! Let's have a great OP day! :cheer: :drill:

Mornin', ladies! I've been out to WI (not Wisconsin) and I am down one measly pound. That is a good thing, because I could have just as easily been up! :( This week will be different. Geez, where have I heard THAT before? Anyway, onward and downward!

Terri: Our leader explained the Fast Track 20 the same way. It was designed with 20 points because that seems to be a good low number for those with a little to lose. Those of us with lots, needed to add food to the menu. It just gave us a beginning for our meal plan.

2cute: I'm with you...out and about to do some errands. I just had to stop back home and pick up something I forgot and so I just had to stop in here too. Bad, aren't we??? Hope you don't get the weather that's predicted for here. Supposed to get really nasty.

Audrey: Glad you had such a nice weekend. Good job at the gym. And two days too. I'm proud of you! I'm hoping to get back to Curves today.

Mary: What a tragic story! [[[hugs]]] Your father must have been the "love of her life" for her to never remarry at such a young age and having little ones to boot. Cancer is a terrible way to go. You guys are in my prayers.

Well, girlies, it's time for me to round 'em up and hit the road again. Ya'll have a good one, ya hear!!!!

P.S. Just out of curiosity, I thought I would look up those pesky Apple Fritters. You know the GOOD  ones, from Dunkin' Donuts??? Here's the stats. They're only 7 WW points!!! :D Apple Fritter (300 cal, 14 g fat, 1 g fiber, 41 g carbs) 7 WW points
