Happy Birthday Jen!!!!

:D Girls!!!!!!!!!!!! howdy!!!! I have come back from the dead!!! Well at least it feels like it considering the no of posts that I have missed.

I gained lbs since Christmas, and the drive, the desire, the motivation and the strength I had before when I was on program has all but disappeared. In my head I am still thinking it, but putting it into action, WELL THAT IS JUST A WHOLE OTHER STORY!!! I do not know what to say other than, I intend ot come here and post everyday, even if I am slipping. I intend to ACT AS IF, until I start doing it right again.

I love you all, and I will go back and read a bit to try and get caught up on all that is going on in your lives.

Well see you in the am, at a decent hour!!! ;) :D

THANKS Pj and 2Cute!! I pretty much forgot it was my birthday until I saw your posts LOL. I was shocked to see birthday wishes for me. Nobody around here knows it's my b-day. Not even my kids. My DH knows, but we all know where he is, so basically it's just another day for me. I'm cleaning today and that's about it.
Thanks a bunch guys! You're all too sweet!! :D
I'll pop in again later,
Jen

I can't get used to the reply button on the left side. I keep pulling up other people's post and wondering how they got there :?:

Anyway, I thing I'm straight now.

Happy Birthday JEN :balloons: :hb:

Believe it or not we are going to close on the building today at 2:00. Things have continued to be bumpy, every day it's something different. Yesterday when we got the final papers, it turned out our down payment is about 10,000 more that we had planned for, so we had to scramble and transfer money and clean out our personal accounts to make sure we had enough. And on top of all that, the closing was supposed to be just on the building, the money for the equipment and software, etc was being helt up until the construction was completed. We spent all of yesterday trying to convince them that we really need to be able to but the equiptment and machinery right away.

I'm going to have my BMI weighed/measured/whatever the do to determine it Friday morning/ They are going to do it at the fitness lab at my health club. The weigh you underwater. Should be interesting. I'll let you know how it is after it's over.

Speaking of health clubs, I've got to go get ready, catch you all later.

Jen... You do something special for your birthday with your kids today!!!! :drill:
You are just as important and special as anyone .... and your kids not only need to know , they will want to know. It can be just going to a movie, or a park, or getting a family type video ... but do something !!!!! Children learn from your example... and they need to learn that mommys birthday is just as important as theirs. It doesn't have to cost money... it just needs to be in "your honor".... in celebration of your birthday!!!

Pam... THANK YOU for your post !!!! I needed to hear what you wrote. :grouphug:

Sandy... good morning
Barbg ... congratulations !!!!
Mary.. I'll pass on the fish ... maybe you should consider a fish fry. JK
Cano... I am glad you are seeking help with your daughter. As far as exercise.. sometimes we just have to white knuckle it and JUST DO IT. I need to take some of my own advice,

Have a great day ladies !!

Hi everyone! I wish I had more time to spend with you all today, but my Christmas stuff is still up and I promised honey that I would stay home today and work on it. Well, I had such a terrible night last night coughing that I stayed in bed until noon and just got up. Now I have two reports from yesterday to write by 2:00 and that pretty much screws up the day, doesn't it.

First of I must say:
:balloons:Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you! :gift:
:hat:Happy Birthday, dear Jen!!
Happy Birthday to you! and many more....:balloons:

Second:
Welcome to the several new people who have joined us. I promise I will come back and welcome you properly when I get a minute.

Third:
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all the wonderful birthday wishes. You guys really made my day. I ended up going to the movies and seeing Calendar Girls, all by myself, me and my popcorn and frozen cherry. :o The movie was ok. I wouldn't pay money to see it again. It's a renter. (Do you guys classify movies in the "buy", "see", or "rent" categories too, or are we just crazy here???

Honey took me to dinner, Mexican. Then I had promised that we would meet "the baby" at the car dealership because he wanted to buy a car and with working full time and going to school 4 nights a week, he doesn't have much time. The dealerships are only open late on Monday and Thursday so I told him we'd meet him after class. It did not go well. The salesperson was HORRIBLE! She was condescending, insincere, a liar..... The list goes on. Maybe you guys know the type. They ask if you have any questions, you ask for the interest rate and they say "I'll get that for you in a minute". Then they ask you again if you have any questions and you ask for the price of the car and they come back with a monthly payment. She was just terrible. Finally she made "the Baby" give her a price he would pay and before taking it to a manager, she wanted him to sign a statement that he would buy it if she came back at that price. OMG! We all got up and walked out.

We went to my mother's for cake and ice cream after the dealership adventure. My honey got me a beautiful gold bracelet. I love it. The boys got me a couple of movies. My mom got me a beautiful porcelain trinket that has a poem on it about wonderful daughters.

Yesterday I met "the Baby" at lunchtime at another dealership and he bought his car and drove it off the lot at the same time. YIKES! The difference in salespeople was night and day.

And finally:
Well, I've rambled enough without saying anything, haven't I??? Thanks for listening. I'm just so HOT about the dealership issue. I would love to go tomorrow night and drive up with him in his new car to the first dealership and do a na na na na na, sorta thing.

I'll be back later when my Christmas is put away and my job reports are done and do some responses. I'm sorry I can't do that now. I do want to say CONGRATS to all of you who have lost this week. And they were some awsome losses!

Before I go, I wanted to make sure that you have all noticed Suzanne's notice at the top of our page. It's about subscriptions to the forum. First let me say that the forum will remain FREE. But, in order for it to remain FREE, she has to have the ad banners. What she is offering is for you to receive NO ADS when you subscribe to the forum. It won't get rid of the ads anywhere but on the message boards, but I don't know about you, here is the only place it really bothers me. It makes our message board screen load slower and it makes it really narrow. Anyway, you can try the subscription for a week for $1(if you just want to see what it would be like. Or you can get, 3 months for $10, and 6 months for $15.

I've tried this and let me tell you, it is well worth the minimal expense. Anyway, I just thought I would call your attention to it in case you didn't see the announcement. :D

Gotta go. Love  you bunches.

Quick breather from Christmas decorations. :sssh: Ssshhhh, don't tell on me.

Honey and "the Baby" are on their way home. They got off work early because *+*+*+WINTER+*+*+* has come to MICHIGAN today. (those were snowflakes, in case you didn't get it. ) And "the Baby" driving a new car! :stress: I will be happy when they are both home safe and sound. :crossed:

Ok, back to Christmas HELL. See you all later.

Just a side note on the sugarless/low carb chocolate...its a laxative in disquise!! I learned my lesson there!!

I'm a bit P.O.'d with work today. They gave us a memo that effective tomorrow our prescription coverage on our insurance has been cancelled and we will probably get a different insurance plan in may or june but until then tough luck if you need prescriptions! Can you all say MORALE?? I am putting my son on Aetna individual plan which is better than my plan at work for less than half the money I have been paying for him. I can get some prescriptions at work for like antibiotics and stuff for me but my son needs coverage especially at this time of year. Some prescriptions are so expensive. Well this new health coverage will have basically the same prescription coverage as this plan but the copay and all will be a little higher but the premiums will be less. We get our individual plan paid for by the doctor but we have to pay extra for any family members. I pay $115 biweekly so thats $230 a month just for Andrew. With the Aetna plan I will only have to pay $105 a month. Can't beat that!! Plus he will have prescription coverage. I think that was the last blow at this office and EVERYONE is looking for a new job!

Anyway...I gotta run...hate to whine and run but you know my busy schedule!

TTFN Love you all! Michelle

I get sidetracked by something I crave and then can't leave it alone....must be much like an addict...ARUGGG! I know better but I do it anyway! I must learn to take my own advice...ONE BITE AT A TIME....and one day at a time......

Hope the rest of you are being better at this than myself, as I read I see some of you are doing super..... :cheer:

I will try to respond to individual posts next time....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!!!!
:)

Just popping in for a quick Hello to let you all know how my dad is doing. The surgery went well. They removed the bladder, prostate and surrounding tissue. That is all being tested to determine the extent of the cancer - we should have the results in a day or two. Dad's in ICU, but looking great. He is very attentive today and already complaining about being bored - that's my dad. He's been through 25 various surgerys and still going strong! :)

I am doing well - it's just a stressfull time and I am exhausted. I did get out for a walk this morning which felt great!

I hope you are all doing well! I didn't have time to read all the posts! I am sitting in an internet cafe right now because the dialup from the hotel is so sloooowwwww!!! I need to get back to the hotel!

Love to all!

Hmmm, smilies are different.

For those of you who are struggling to get back into exercise because of being low of energy, you won't get more if you don't get to moving. You're going to have to get started and stick with it if you want to have the energy to really go at it and feel good doing it. I started back doing just 10 mintues and will be working my way back up to where I was. The more I do on a daily basis, the better I feel. I've got DH doing just 5 minutes a day to get started. Make a commitment tomorrow to do something - stretches, lift cans of veggies, walk in place, do an exercise video. Just get started. Then each day write down on a calendar how much you do - soon you'll be motivated to do something so you can write it down. :drill: :drill:

I'll throw out a Dr. Phil (no groaning! :s: ) You have to "behave yourself out of the situation."

Barb - Thanks for the update on your dad. I'm so glad that he's doing well. Good for you for taking that walk. Take care!!

Everyone else - I'm half braindead and can't think right now. I read and think about you all and cheer you all on. And want you all back on track and working towards your goals. :cheer:

Have a great day tomorrow!

P.S. I'm having KAT withdrawals! Where is that new computer?

Hey all....

I don't have time for a long post, but I did want to say to Cano: I sincerely apologize if my response seemed curt or hateful. Sometimes it's hard to hear the intended message or tone when we just type it out. I think what I was trying to get across and maybe not very well, is that even though we are a VERY close knit family, we are NEVER too close that we won't accept a new friend. I can't speak for anyone else, but personally.... I hate it when a new friend joins and stays for just a small while and you get attached to them and then they leave. :( Sometimes it's hard to keep up because we move so quickly...heck, even I fall behind alot, but you are ALWAYS welcome here and I truly look forward to getting to know you better.

Having said that, I have to go and actually try and get some sleep tonight.

Happy Birthday Jen!!!

Good evening ladies.... hope you are all doing great today.

Jen.. did you tell your kids it was your birthday?? Did you do something special?

Paperdoll/Pat... Low Carb chocolate is an "occasional" treat. For some people it works as a laxative... I am not one of them thank goodness. But it should still be used in moderation.
As far as exercise... I know how hard it is to do especially after working hard all day. BUT... once you get into the habit... it will make you feel energized instead of more worn out. :cb: You just have to DO IT ... and let it become a part of your life style.

Thin... *** Let it Snow *** Let it Snow *** Let it Snow ***
I hope you got your xmas stuff put up. I know how overwhelming it can be.

Michelle... Don't you just hate insurance. Ours keep getting less and costing more too. Unfortunately... I know it keeps costing the employers more too. We are the richest country.. you would think we could find a way for people to get health care within a reasonable cost.

Syn... I too am struggling. I have been getting depressed lately because of my inability to get my act together. :( I was even going to quit this thread and cancel the gathering and just give up. But then I knew that was not the answer either. I will keep trying if you do. :high:

Mary and Sandy... CONGRATULATIONS for staying ON PROGRAM!!!
Please post it every day .. it offers me hope that I can too again.

Barbara... I am so glad your dad is doing well. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. I am so proud of you for walking. It will help in your spirit as well as you body.

Terri.... I LOVE YOU !!!!
You always know the right thing I need to hear....
For those of you who are struggling to get back into exercise because of being low of energy, you won't get more if you don't get to moving. You're going to have to get started and stick with it if you want to have the energy to really go at it and feel good doing it.
I LOVED YOUR HONESTY !!! I loved you wisdom !!! I love you !!!
THANK YOU ...THANK YOU ... THANK YOU !!!

Okay... I am going to go lift weights or walk in place or SOMETHING !!!
I am going to BITE THE BULLET and JUST DO IT !!!!

Barbg: I am so happy to hear your dads surgery went well and he is on the mend. I wish him a speedy/healthy uneventful recovery.

2Cute: :grouphug: giving you a real big hug. Don't give up, we are all here for you and have all been in the same place before. Yesterday was my first OP day in so so so long. So far today is going good, but it is only 8:30 a.m. ;) . I am finding it easier right now to take it meal to meal instead of day to day. I bought myself some nice Kettle Corn 94% FF for work to pop when I get those temptations. I have brought my lunch to work the last two days, although yesterday I spilled half my salad on the floor  , it slid right off the pile of papers on my desk and onto the floor....I was not a happy camper!!! Remember, Tina our wise one always says.....baby steps. So, I am taking the baby steps, so catch up with me and take some of these baby steps with me. I still have not added the exercise, because we all know how I HATE that word. But I will.

Okay girlies, I wish I had time for more replies but I am at work and the accountant is due in a bit to help me with these end of the year quarterly payroll tax things. Arn't taxes just the greatest!!! NOT!!!!

Hugs

PS) Some thread questions or notations? I noticed that the new smiles are gone? Then I noticed that up in the right hand corner of each post is the number of the post for the thread, has that always been there? I like it!!! Also when I scroll down I can now see the other posts and they are not inside a box like before and you have to scroll inside the box.

First of all to Jen :gift: Happy belated birthday! Hope you did something special for yourself.

SYN, 2 Cute, and anyone else who's struggling to get back on track: ME TOO! :( I've just picked up Dr. Phil's book again (after leaving it sitting collecting dust since before Thanksgiving :nono: ), and I'm getting on the program. Depression is hard to break through. Terri, thanks for your post about exercise. Not only will it jump start weight loss, but it helps with depression too :)

Sandy & Mary: WTG for staying on program :D

Barb: I'm glad your dad came through his surgery well :)

Chequita: Welcome! :D

Cano: I read the post about your DD. My heart goes out to you. My DS (17) left home almost 2 weeks ago. He's staying with a friend a few miles from here. He still keeps in touch; he even went to church with us last night; but he's got a lot of problems (high school dropout, unemployed). Don't give up on your daughter. I hope counseling helps :grouphug:

Have a super day everyone! :)

I re-joined WW a week ago, tomorrow is my first WI. Think I am doing just fine! but I do need to get back to walking.
I'm a Grandma that lives in Southern Calif for the time being, although preparing for a move to Idaho as soon as DH gets retired and we sell the house. (I should get a lot of exercise points just from packing)
