:balloons: :balloons: HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIN!!! :balloons: :balloons:
Since I forgot to mention it before, I'll let you in on my husbands reaction to the new (in progress) me. Remember, the last time he saw me I looked like the before picture that I posted, and when he came back I looked like the current picture.
He actually came in early and I didn't know it, so at 6am I got a knock on the door. I KNEW it had to be him. I opened the door and gave him the hugest longest hug ever! Then he held me out at arms length and just stared for a minute. For DAYS he kept telling me how good I looked. Of course me and my self esteem begged to differ. I didn't know how to handle such compliments.
We have a reclining sofa, and he likes to lay down with his head in my lap while I'm reclined on one end while we watch a movie. He did this one night while he was here and fidgeted and fussed so I says "What?" and he says, "Hey, there's a bone here! That wasn't there before! Now I can't get comfy." LOL (I have hip bones after all)
We are kind of like big children sometimes, and we like to wrestle around. I used to be able to keep him down with my weight. I THOUGHT I had him down, with my arms around his neck and my legs around his middle, but then he just stood up with me still hanging on and I ended up getting a piggy back ride around the house. I can't remember when the last time was that somebody could pick me up. It was a trip.
I'm still struggling to get back on the wagon. I've quit eating all the junk food, but am still grazing throughout the day. Healthier food choices, but still too much eating. I have been drinking all my water and taking all my suppliments, which I've been slacking on lately too. Then there's the !@#$%^&* exercise. I HATE to exercise with a burning passion. UGH!! Real trouble getting motivated there.
I really REALLY want to lose 23 more pounds before my DH comes back again. I really hope I can pull it off.
Anyhoo, I'll pop in again.
Talk at ya later,
Jen

Hi to all my little chickadees! :chicken:
How is everyone doing today? I have to finish packing so I'll just stay for a minute --- I have to be up at 4am for my flight in the morning. I talked to my mom tonight and it sounds like she and my dad are in ok spirits about the surgery. I'll just be happy to be there with them.
Today has been a pretty good day - I am starting to physically feel better, which is helping the emotions as well. I managed to make all the Dr. appts. that DH and I need. He is going to the general doc for a check up and blood work and what not and to a urologist who specializes in fertility. I am going to see a reproductive endocrinologist. So, between all those people we will hopefully find a solution to our fertility problems. The appts are in the last week of Jan and first week of Feb. So, now the focus is on being patient and getting back to my healthier lifestyle!
I'll be holed up in a hotel with my mom for the next 4-5 days. I am packing plenty of exercise clothes and am going to get moving everyday. Even if it means walking around the hospital parking lot or hotel parking lot. :)
I had lunch with three other friends today and we got on the discussion of losing weight and eating and whatnot - they were all so complimentary of me and are such motivating factors in my life. I am going to get back on track if it kills me.
Did anyone see Oprah today? She had a show on Gastric Bypass with Randy Jackson. It was very interesting.
Just a few things.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIN!
Wishing you much happiness on your special day and everyday!!! :hb: :joker: :hb: :joker:
Duckie - It's great to see you popping back in. Can't wait to hear more about the trip and see some pictures!
Mary - Congrats on the Loss!! Keep up the good work!!!
Chula/Cano - Welcome Back! :D
Jen - Thanks for sharing about your husband! How cute! I guess maybe I have hipbones under here somewhere too!!! A Piggyback ride!! WOW!!!!!
Paperdoll - Welcome!

:) H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y THIN!!
It is a beautiful day here in Des Moines...almost 40 degrees...
I am still waiting for a response from my letter writing to the old "friend" from my past.. :( But whatever happens it was meant to be, what is that saying ? "No guts, No Glory" Had to try and see what happened or I would be kicking myself.....
How are we all doing on our New Years Resultions? I am so so..but hope to do better and no I will.
Jeheri: I am so glad your hubby was able to be home for the holidays and I bet he thought it was great to see your "new" look.
Good Luck Barb: I will remember your in prayer.
Paperdoll: Welcome.
To all & to others I may have missed I :) hope your new year is off to a good and positive start...

Happy Birthday, Thin! :hb:
Welcome back Cano/Chula. Keep on posting and you'll fit right in. I didn't have to re-register but with this upgrade, I had to get my password reset. I didn't have trouble when the forum was reverted back to November but did today. You can PM Suzanne and have her change your userid.
2Cute - I'm so glad you got to the doc and found out what is wrong. Hope it goes away on its own!
Jen - Sounds like you had a great time with your DH. May will be here before you know it. I loved your pictures. Thanks for sharing! You've done awesome.
Mary - :bravo: for SEVEN pounds gone. We'll be waiting for a pic!
Sandy - I am very fortunate that DH cooks. Not that I can't or don't like it; its just wonderful to come home from work and have someone else worry about the food! He's really evolved as a cook since we've been together. It took a while and patience, but he's willing to learn. He's very good!
Tina - Hope you get your car back soon! And relief at work.
Barb - You'll be in my thoughts this next week. Take care of your mom. Take care of you too! When you get back, you can find your focus. You did it before. I'll be here to cheer you on! :grouphug:
Kat - I miss seeing you around! Hope you get up and going soon. How's your dad?
Pam - Don't worry about the gain; you've done great this year. You'll be able to get rid of that and some of its friends soon!
Syn - Good to see you again. Maybe he's working up some courage himself.
Duckie - Good to see you too and that you had a good trip. Can't hardly wait for pictures! Seems like Canadians and Europeans take such wonderful vacations. DH and I go to Arkansas.
Joanne - Hello!
That's all I can remember for now. Hello to everyone else!

Hey everyone :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIN!!! :balloons: :gift: Hope the day has been wonderful for you :) You deserve it! :)
So much to reply to tonight. So many faces returning, and even one new. :)
I've had a really rough day, and I'm trying hard to regroup and keep up the fantastic attitude I began the week with. Two main owners of our company came in today and told us that they were shutting the doors. Apparently they planned to do it today, but they didn't know what to do with the unfinished work out in the shop, so we have a reprieve of sorts until the 30th. They didn't want to do severance pay, so they figured this would work instead. Since we were told just last Friday that they had chosen to not sell the company, we all thought we were in the clear just a little while longer. Anyway, I'm job hunting hardcore. The guy who promised to call me Friday ended up in meetings until late at night. He promised to call and talk things over with me tonight, but he didn't call again. The thought of working for someone like that makes me nervous, but if I'm offered a job, I'll take it. Meanwhile, I have another job interview tomorrow and have faxed out more resumes and will continue to ask everyone I know to keep their eyes open for possibilities. Heck, I even have a lead from the chick who got my job at the town office. How twisted is that?!
DH just got home from work and I need to go over details with him. I'll try to be back later, but no promises.

I am still here!! I have just had a busy last couple of days. First things first...
Happy Belated Birthday Thin!!
Well I went Saturday and weighed in for the Discovery Channel Body Challenge. It went pretty well. My neighbor went with me. We drove 30 miles to the only location in SC that they were having weigh ins. We got there right after the mall opened and thought we would be one of the first in line. YEAH RIGHT! There was a big winding line as soon as we came anywhere near the weigh in area. One of the staff members came down the long line to us and handed us a card. We were number 157 and 158. He told us that we were in the 3rd hour time slot and to come nack at 12 noon!! It was only like 10:15 then. Actually I did not mind all that much because the atmosphere was exciting. We went upstairs and sat on a bench that overlooked the weigh in area. We had alot of fun watching what was going on. They only had one person weighing and one person taking body fat percentages, yet there was one young cutie that had the very important job of filing the papers with weights and such in a small box on the table. We got such a kick out of this because that seemed to be his only job and he only had to file like 1 paper every 2 minutes. That is how slow things were going. As soon as they put that paper in his hands he rushed right over and filed it without waiting a second. It was sooooo funny!! Anyway we went back down to get in line for the 3rd hour group and finally got to the scales to be weighed at about 12:50 p.m. I walked up to the scale smiling and motivated yet a little nervous. I stepped on the scale....flicker flicker....ERROR. OMG I thought I was gonna faint. I kept thinking I was not gonna get to weigh in. Well the lady with the permanent smile that was the keeper of the scales asked me to step off and try again. She told me that thay must not have been set back to zero. Yeah right lady!! I knew why they read error so why did I put myself through that and climb back on? Because I am a glutton for punishment!!!! After trying twice and then three times, she finally directed me to a scale that was (thank God) right beside the first one. It weighed me without error and I am not sure that was a good thing. I weighed in at 343 pounds!! That is the most that I have ever weighed. I was shocked in a way but then again I knew that my clothes were fitting alot tighter. After that I had my body fat analyzed. I am 49.2% fat. So now it is out and it is official. Now it is time to make those numbers go down for good!! I received a really cute "get fit kit" for weighing in. It consisted of a cap, a nice little tape measure, a really neat food and exercise journal, Secret deodorant, and a chap stick that goes around your neck for walking outdoors. Everything had the Discovery Body Challenge logo on them. The little chap stick thingy can be used with any chap stick. I also got a free 3 month memebership to a gym but it is too far from me so it is a no go. All in all it was pretty fun!
So now it is time to get down to business. I am gonna use that "get fit kit" and get rid of these pounds!!! I have to go back and weigh out on April 3rd and I am hoping to be under 300 by then. I know that is an ambitious goal but I always lose alot the first few weeks because I am so heavy and it really only comes out to less than 4 pounds a week.
It is 1:53 am so I need to get in bed but I will be back tomorrow.
Hugs,
Tracy

Tracy: I am so proud of you!!! You went in and waited and weighed in and found out the body fat even!!! You will succeed, I know you will!! Could you possibly kick me in the butt so I can get started. I keep saying tomorrow, then you know what happens tomorrow. I just have to find that place I was, what seems like so long ago and get back in the groove.
I sat here this am thinking 1 year ago I said I would be at least 50 lbs lighter, well guess that didn't happen. It will!!! With all you great girls here.
Mary: Poor hubby, hope he is dealing well with the new teeth. Give him some nice soup and pudding and he will be fine. Can't wait to see the new du.
Andria: My fingers and all other body parts are crossed for you!!!
Barbg: Have fun with your church group over for dinner. Sounds like a good get together. Always nice to have friends around.
BarbPA: My prayers are with you and your family. Remember to take care of you too. God bless you. May all your hopes and dreams come true.
To everyone: Have a happy nice fun filled day. Don't let work or home life stress you out to much. We all know what stress does, or at least I know what it makes me do.
Hugs to all,
Sandy

Hey everyone :)
Good morning! I'm up and at 'em early today. There is a lot to do, and I want to make sure and get an early start to it all. I've got a really positive, gung ho type attitude this morning. :) Working world, watch out, cause here I come!
Mary, your poor DH. :( Hope his mouth isn't sore for too long. Have fun getting your hair cut, and CONGRATULATIONS on that 7 pound loss! Making it to Onederland so soon after the holidays is quite that accomplishment! :)
Tracy, how cool for you being able to do the challenge! The nearest WI to me was 2.5 hours away, so I decided to not go. You are so lucky they could measure your body fat. I still don't register on the machine at Curves. It won't show until I hit down under 50. Good luck with your goals!
Cano/Chula, good to see you back! Was hoping you didn't get lost in all the changes around here. :)
Barb, we are making sure to include your family in our prayers. *HUGS*
ACK! Didn't realize how much time I have taken already. Munchkin is going to miss her bus if I don't hurry!

Good morning gals. I was going to reply to everyone... but there are soooo many to reply to.
I will try .. but I may not make it.
Jen...I am so happy your holidays were so great with your husband. I couldn't stop smiling reading all about it. :D You look AWESOME !!! I cannot imagine being that slim and trim. I really enjoyed all of your photos. I truly understood what you were saying about the surgery being a tool. The NEED to feed is still there often. The woman on Oprah yesterday was talking about "mourning" the loss of food.
Terri...Yes.. I do need :drill: daily. lol
And my vacations are usually limited to Arkansas too. LOL How sad it that. LOL
Your before photo was good. I can't wait untill you get to put your NOW skinny photo next to it. You really hit a cord on me when you mentioned the "under lying" problems that cause us to overeat.
Thin... I liked your idea of making your xmas tree a Valentine tree.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Did you get to the movies and see "Calendar Girls"?
Mary... CONGRATS on your 7lbs !!!! That is so great !!
Onderland... I don't remember the last time I was in Onderland. I think I was 18 years old after a major fast.
Andria.. I love oatmeal too. :T My daughter has been experimenting with LC recipes and she has found several she really likes. Variety can sure help keep you on program.
I too think of you as "Susie Homemaker"
I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for your job hunting endeavers. :crossed:
I will keep my eyes open for an edible centerpiece... but my mouth closed.
I also could relate to you not being able to read that article for 2 days. Been there.. done that. LOL
Michelle.. I will have to try that Pummelo. I am proud of you for getting back to WW
Aradia .. I remember you. :D Welcome back.
Cano.. I remember the name Chula too.. but you did not post much. I hope that changes.
Paperdoll... welcome to our little group too. Hope to see you more around here.
Joanne... hang in there girl.!!!
BarbPA... I saw Oprah... it left me very depressed. So many people having that surgery.. so many people being successful. That one woman mourning the loss of the food and holiday meals together was so depressing to me. I know she will be happy after she has lost all of her weight... but it sure made it clear that the "NEED to feed" is still there even if you can't eat it. I can see me having a MAJOR pity party. Eating is my main social activity. My husbnad and I don't do much of anything else together. :) :(
I hope your dad's surgery works out well and your mom handles it well too. We will miss you while you are gone.
Tina... You need to S L O W down. Slow and easy. Make some time for you to rest and relax. I miss you too.
Tracy.. Your venture to the mall for the weigh in sounded exciting. I am sooo proud of you.
You sound so positive and ready to lose this weight. GO FOR IT !!!
Duckie... I can't remember what you wrote. Didn't you just get back from vacation?? I am writing this offline so I can't go back and reread.
Kat... GET A NEW COMPUTER !!! WE MISS YOU !!!!
Barb.g and several others... I don't have notes for you... have you posted lately?? or did I just miss you??
Lucky... I have notes for you... but I can't read my own handwriting. :o  Sorry.
Okay... I have got to get this posted and get my day going. I have an appointment at 1pm and i have a lot to do before then.
Ladies.. MAKE IT a great day !!! and drink that water.
Well ladies thanks for all the "Welcome backs" I love coming here you just don't know! I know I didn't post much I am sorry for that I am going through alot with my teen daughter she moved out becasue her and I fight severly she is very angry soemthing is eating at her she flies off the handle for nothing. Her Dad called me last night telling me he can't handle her and I got strong and told her her next address will be JDC (Juvenile Detention Center) that I can't handle her mouth she started crying and begged for counseling I about lost it almost started crying. But I didn't and today I am calling to find her some help. She is angry about her Dad leaving us she always throws that in our face, me bacause I just let him go be with another woman (the wife he is with now and Kikka likes her) and him for doing it and now doing it again with the wife he has now and it's building up I guess. She asked him why can't he just stay faithful and quit making kids all over the place. I think Kikka just wants her family back and she hates the fact that we are not a whole, but yet she likes my BF and she loves her step mom so what coud be the problem, this is 10 years old (the divorce that is) so it has to be teen years, ok I am sorry I am downloading on you all!
Everyone have a great day! And I will try and post more and get to know everyone better!! -Rhonda

Popping in for a quickie here.... (Thin, get your mind out of the gutter)
Speaking of Thin.........
Happy Birthday!!! :cheer:
I'm gonna try and do replies real quick, cause I don't know if I'll have time to do much else....
Chula/Cano: I am not an usual, usual your click is very strong and I don't post enough. I don't prefer to think of us as a clique, but more as a family. The difference between us and your regular families are, that we are totally accepting. No matter what you look like, where you are, what you have or what you don't or how much you weigh, if you are here with us, then you usually have something in common with us, and that makes us family. I am glad we give you inspiration, that's something we can all use from time to time. Be sure to post a little though adn let us know you're with us. You might just find you like it, and as far as I'm aware, none of us bite..... well, except maybe Kat, but I can say that because she's not here.
2cute: I'm glad to hear it was only a cyst. I miss you too when I'm not here and I'm doing the best I can to get slowed down. :dizzy:
Andria: I'm still keeping good thoughts for you and you getting a new job. Keep up that good attitude.
Sandy: Even though this didn't have my name on it, I know who you were talking to: To everyone: Have a happy nice fun filled day. Don't let work or home life stress you out to much. We all know what stress does, or at least I know what it makes me do. Stress has made me make a few bad choices this week, but I've tried to keep them to a minimum. I believe I am re-joining WW next Monday or Tuesday, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Mary: Congrats on the 7 lbs gone!! Good for you girl. I will be looking forward to that picture from the board dinner. Just thinking about your dh's mouth hurts ME. :(
Tracy: Sweetheart, I am so proud of you for going to WI and having your body fat analyzed. You did something I would probably never have the courage to do. You are my inspiration for this week.
Well crap.... I knew I'd never have time to finish my replies. Dh just walked in the door and is already frowning at the fact that I am on the computer. We were late somewhere last night because I hopped on for a minute to check my email and we are about to head out to Dalton to go grocery shopping. Take care you guys and I will be back later on if I can. If not, I'll see you tomorrow from work, hopefully.
P.S. Did I mention I lost 6 lbs. this week? :cb:
:grouphug:
Gosh Tina I hope I didn't come off strong by calling your family here a clique sorry I just meant I don't post alot and getting to know you all better on a personal level is overwhelming...I jsut need to catch up I get all confused :dizzy:

Today was a really crappy day at work. I have a screaming headache so I'm going to make this short tonight. Not much to talk about - food is going well; DH is still motivated; exercise is going well but my foot is sore tonight from wearing regular shoes yesterday and that not going well so it was back to boots today; weather has been nice here and not much else.
Tina - :bravo: on six pounds. That's great!
Paperdoll - Welcome to the group!
Have a nice evening ladies. I have to work on bill stuff.

Hey everyone :)
I got a job! It is the one I've been waiting to hear about since last Friday. He is paying a really fair wage, especially for someone stepping in who still has to learn one of his major software applications. Yeah, I'm planning on busting my backside to get QuickBooks under my belt in the next couple of days. My other job offered me part-time in St. George at the corporate office. The two offices are within a mile or so of each other, so this could work out perfectly. Don't laugh, but the second I got off the phone with this man, I started up with the worst headache. I think it is all that stress finally releasing. Actually, I still really tensed up. It is like I'm afraid to finally relax a little. But I have a JOB! :D
Tina, WOW!!! 6 lbs. is fantastic! My munchkin says that is the coolest and wanted to put this emoticon up for you.
Side note on cool things in my life. Most of you know my youngest is high functioning autistic. One of the many things they said she might not learn to do was read well. Since reading means the world to me, this was kind of a blow. But tonight I caught her reading a book out loud to herself. She was doing a great job! Since this school year started, she has moved from being almost a year behind in reading to the median level of her class. I am so proud of her! :D Ok, back to all of you :)
Paperdoll, good to see you posting again. That is really the way to do it. Read and get inspired, share and get support. It is so much easier for us to support you if we know what you need. :)
Rhonda, the bios page helps to get to know all of us at least a little bit better. Reminds me, I haven't posted mine up yet. Whoops? And chick, I'm sorry you are having a rough time with your daughter. Mine is exactly a year behind yours, and I'm already getting some glimpses. *HUGS* to you!
Sandy, I can sympathize with you on the 50 lb. goal not being met since I'm in the exact same boat! But I know I've made a lot of progress in other areas, and I know you have as well. Keep yourself out of the tomorrow trap by staying present and focused on your daily goal. I can hardly wait to hear you cheering for yourself this time next year because you made it! :)
The evening is getting away from me. I have to get some customer care calls made because while I've been worrying about the regular job situation, my little business has been suffering. Time to pull everything back into balance! :grouphug:

He is paying a really fair wage, especially for someone stepping in who still has to learn one of his major software applications. Yeah, I'm planning on busting my backside to get QuickBooks under my belt in the next couple of days.
Andria: I use Quickbooks at work and am self-taught....it really is easy once you get the hang of it. They make it pretty simple. Good luck with it. But it does have stuff I still have not used...

Hey all, I am back from my vacation and just had a moment to pop in to say "hi".
Happy belated Thin! Hope we can get a chance to get together this week!
2Cute: Hope all is well. (I haven't had a chance to catch up in the reading, but I read that you had to go to the doctors).
Food isn't so good, but on the bright side, my DH said he will try and cut back on the sweets and eat better and work out with me. I don't know how long that will last, but I have to have some hope.
No baby news yet, but still hoping....
Later,
Susie
