Wonder what THAT will do to the forum! Hope nobody gets lost!!! Joanne D 01-08-2004, 02:44 PM It looks like a mess..I lost this site for 3 days and had a difficult time getting back on.. Out all day shopping for food that I was out of. Got Tops tonight .Only a blessing from God will save me at the scale.. Meme- The low/no carb diets are good for diabetics. I still am not eating carbs ,esp. the white foods. I really don't miss them too much. I eat a fruit when I start craving. I say a program yesterday on the low carb diets. It was all good news. One of the people on it was saying how his health has improved and he didn't even have to take insulin anymore. Cool here for a few days. I for one like this weather. Keep well and I hope we find each other again in a few days when they get through working on this thing...Joanne MemeToo 01-09-2004, 01:36 AM They're not sending out notices when a new message has been posted and I don't know if everyone has bookmarked the site so they can get back in. Hubby mentioned tonight that several people he works with have lost weight on the Atkins Diet. I told him I'd support him on whatever he decides to do but I couldn't do a diet with him. I have decided NOT to diet anymore. Diets don't work for me. My back went out last night and I couldn't even get myself to bed. Hubby had to go get my crutches and I barely made it with those. By 3 a.m. it was a lot better and by 7 it was almost back to normal. Now I'm just sore all over. I got my blood checked on Monday and it's low... I'm so tired. Between that and this cough I've just been doing nothing all week. Hope everyone makes it back in! Happy Canuk 01-09-2004, 02:42 AM Hi Joanne and Meme. Boy, they have sure been having a tough go here. Hope they can get it back up and running smooth. Lot's of stuff lost. Ours isn't so important, but some forums have recipes and stuff. Meme - hope you are feeling better. My back has been giving me problems - AGAIN. I get so sick of this all the time. I would like it to go back to where it was a few months ago. At least it didn't hurt all the time. I guess it will be the way it is. I NEED to lose some weight here. I agree, diets just don't work for me either. I don't know what does. I will keep trying. Joanne - Thank goodness we didn't lose you. Mima may have problems finding us. I am still using my usual desktop icon and it works ok, so maybe everything will be ok. Good luck at TOPS! It was so cold out, I decided to start walking in this building. I am doing the stairs then the floors - making 4 flights down and 4 flights up , then walking each loooong hallway. The other day I jogged a little. No wonder my back hurts. Anyway, I walked the Malls the past couple of days. Went and got my hair cut and colored and I feel a lot better. Got a darker color put in, so I don't feel so wishy-washy. Hate that blonde. I haven't been blonde since I was7 or 8. He did put highlights in, so the grey will blend with it. Anyway, I am pleased with it. Hope you both have a good sleep. Candicej 01-09-2004, 05:44 AM I'm here.....not feeling so good today, have beern doing the treadmill and ran up and down the stairs putting some Christmas stuff away (left my snowmen out so more to put away later) and now my hips and back hurt! I want to be normal and do things without pain! :D Happy, do the stairs not bother your hips at all? Yes Diets do not work for the long haul and the meds we take makes it even harder! I gotta get off my cookie eating and get these few extra punds off before nothing fits..then I will be depressed:eek: Meme....hope your back to normal! Joanne...I do not want to get ont he scale either, gonna wait a few weeks if I can. DH had to run his mom to the hospital, seems she had a mild stoke, (TIA)her blood pressure was over 200 and they couldn't figure out why(her meds were working good). When he called me I asked if they new what caused the high BP and could it be the cough medicine she was on. They thought I was dumb for asking and when they questioned her again she told them she had taken an OTC drug (robitussion)and they said that would do it, that had raised her BP. She of course blammed the Pharmacist...She just asked him what was a good OTC to take and didn't have him check her meds to see if she could even take it) hey you gotta ask questions and look out for yourself and she knows better (is always reading medical stuff and telling everyone else what to do!) She is back to normal right now.....the old bat! ( can you tell I think she is a pushy know it all) but DH has to take off work to go check on her and then get her settled in at home when she is released. She is a hypochondriac too, plus she has Fibro, that is her main problem she thinks that Fibro could not cause all her pain and keeps running to doc after doc to find out if she is dying! Then she will not accept what they tell her. She is so stubborn....Makes me really mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joanne D 01-09-2004, 10:40 AM Happy- I am not getting notices from 3FC either. I have to take the long route to get on. I bet walking the stairs is giving you the back ache. Try doing one set of stairs and elevating to the other halls till you get used to it. You are probably doing too much at once. Meme- Don't think about DIETS. Call it just a eating plan. I just can't do it if I think of it as a diet. Candice- I got on the scale at TOPS and I must have had a angel sitting on my shoulder. I was the same weight as before Christmas. Just 2 1/2 lbs to my new goal. It is so hard . I am not going to stress it though. Just watch and pray. My hips and knees hurt all the time esp. when I walk. I can't let it go though. I go to webmd almost every day. They really have some good tips on there. I hope Mima and the rest of our girls can find us again. Hello everybody...Joanne MemeToo 01-09-2004, 03:25 PM Glad to see everyone is making it back in OK. Now we just need to hear from Ally, Anagram, Mima and our new people ... I don't think I missed anyone but anything is possible today. School is out because of snow and I have Ross! Here is an article I found on 'dieting' that I thougt was interesting. I thought I would share it with you all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "People who want to lose weight are a very vulnerable group because they're very frustrated," Kathleen Zelman, MPH, RD/LD, director of nutrition for the WebMD Weight Loss Clinic, tells WebMD. "Weight loss is hard, and everybody is looking for a silver bullet." How can you discern which weight loss claims are true or false? Here's some advice from Zelman and from the Federal Trade Commission: Does the diet promote rapid weight loss? That's a clear signal it's unrealistic, says Zelman. When you start a diet, water weight is the first to go, she explains. If you lose much more than two pounds a week, you're drawing from both fat and muscles. That's not good, because muscle is one big factor that controls your metabolism. If you lose muscle mass, your metabolism will slow down. That's how the yo-yo cycle begins -- and that's one reason why some diets don't work, she explains. "That's why we advocate losing weight slowly and gradually, so you're losing one to two pounds per week," Zelman says. "You're eating more food than diets allow, but you're tapping into stored fat more efficiently." Does the weight loss program involve eating just one food -- or eliminating whole food groups? "That's crazy," says Zelman. "No one can stay on those diets very long." Sure, you can do it in the short term -- with some success, she says. "If you're eating all the cabbage or meat you want, you go into a state of ketosis. This causes your appetite to go away, so ultimately you don't eat as much -- probably you're down to a 1,000-calorie diet. Anyone on a 1,000-calorie diet will lose weight. "Even the strangest diets will pull weight off you, because the basic formula to weight loss is burning more calories than you eat." Does the program help you change long-term eating habits? If not, you'll just get caught up in a never-ending lose-gain cycle -- better known as "yo-yo" dieting. Most diets are short-term fixes for a long-term problem, says Zelman. "People who get slim and stay that way have changed their eating habits and attitudes toward food." Does it involve exercise? If it doesn't, you will gain the weight back. "Research shows that individuals who exercise on a regular basis have much greater success at losing weight and keeping it off ... Exercise is critical to weight loss success," Cedric Bryant, PhD, chief exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise, tells WebMD. You need an hour of aerobic exercise -- at least five times per week -- if you seriously want to lose weight, says Bryant. "That doesn't need to be in one concentrated dose, because calorie-burning effects accumulate over time." Also, you need strength training two times a week to build muscle. Lifting weights or working with rubber tubes helps maintain and can also increase the level of lean body mass -- which helps your metabolism burn calories. "Two-thirds of the calories a person burns over the course of a day are from resting metabolism," says Bryant. "If you're on a restricted diet (decreasing calories and nutrients) and not doing resistance training (to build muscle), it's not uncommon to see resting metabolism decrease -- so you won't lose weight." Are supplements, creams, or patches involved? If so, forget it. "It's the old saying, 'if it sounds too good to be true, it is.' Why would we have an obesity epidemic if it was as easy as popping a pill?" says Zelman. "By and large, products are not capable of helping you lose weight. Ephedra has been banned from the market, and it was the major ingredient of weight-loss supplements." That should send a big message: These things are either not healthy or do not work, she says. Products that block absorption of fat, such as Xenical or Orlistat, may have only minor weight-loss potential -- and they're expensive, says Zelman. The problem: "These are all Band-Aid approaches to the problem. Even though it's not sexy, and not any fun, people know what they need to do. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that eating sweets, eating constantly, drinking alcohol, eating fast food are all the things that add extra calories." Is there sound research behind the weight-loss program? "Not all studies are created equal, and there are plenty sponsored by companies to get the answers they want. So a fair amount of skepticism is in order," says Zelman. If the study involves small numbers of people the the results are less meaningful. Use caution when making any decisions based on the finding. Also, if claims only involve anecdotes and testimonials, beware. Is the weight-loss program compatible with your lifestyle? "If it's asking you to eat every three hours, to buy special foods and prepare them specially, it might be more trouble than it's worth and you won't do it," says Zelman. Does it sound easy? Diets or supplements that tout "no dieting or exercise needed" or "permanent weight loss, even if you stop using the product," are bogus, says the FTC. If you rely on supplements or too-strict diets you're wasting your time, Zelman explains. Likewise, don't put much weight in the negative-calorie food diet. The theory there is that when you eat lettuce, celery, and other near-zero calorie foods, your body burns more calories simply digesting them. Give me a break, says Zelman. "You may burn a few calories, but so what?" Sure, some diets work and they're healthy, Zelman says. "The Atkins and South Beach diets both have merit," she says. Also, "protein and calcium are showing great promise as weight loss enhancers," she tells WebMD. "But they're not miracle foods; you still have to eat a low-calorie diet, and you still have to exercise." Published Jan. 7, 2004. Happy Canuk 01-10-2004, 03:48 PM Good info Meme. I am starting off my day with a cleanse. I mixed up cranberry Juice from concentrate (no sugar), orange juice, lemon juice, lots of water, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. You boil it all together and sip it during the day, along with water. Supposed to cleanse the liver so that the liver can better handle fat processing. Also supposed to give you lots of energy. It is a 24 hr. thing. Ann Louise Gittleman, top nutritionist in the USA, advises doing this only 1 day every 30 days or more. Supposed to be good for the old body! Day to relax in. Nothing strenuous. Tomorrow I will start on a sensible eating plan and this time I intend to get rid of the pounds. Another book I was reading, said to gather up some books, put them on a scale until they measure the amount of weight you want to lose. Then, put them in a packsack (mine would never fit) and lug them around for awhile. When you take them off you will notice how much lighter you feel. That is the feeling you will always have when you get rid of the pounds.:dizzy: I know I will feel better when it is gone, but I have had such a problem getting it to MOVE!!!! Candicej 01-11-2004, 06:17 AM Meme..I already knew all that stuff but liked reading it again. seems I can never get enough information on the subject or health subjects in general. Happy..do not eat anything the whole day when you drink the juice? I would be so hungry and have such a headache! Hope you made it through the day ok! Joanne...way to go! That was really good news huh..... The board is gonna be down again Sunday...... Joanne D 01-11-2004, 12:33 PM Is anybody getting e-mail notices from 3FC?? Candice -I am one of those who can weigh one thing and then get on the scale and be 5 lbs up in just a day or two. I retain fluid and trying to lose is a real hassle. Went to a shower and ate deviled eggs and some cheese. That is all it takes.. It can take me weeks to lose a lb sometimes. Cold here today.. 40's are cold for us down here. It warms up pretty fast though.. Hello everybody...Joanne MemeToo 01-11-2004, 03:33 PM I'm the same way, Joanne. I ate some Ritz chips last night... yum. Have any of you tried those yet? I love Ritz crackers but the chips are divine. I bought some sour cream and onion ones and I couldn't stop eating them... well, needless to say, the salt pushed me up 4 1/2 whopping pounds this morning. I swell at nothing but salty snacks push me over the top! :corn: As for the article, there's just no way I'm going to be able to exercise for an hour five times a week. Just forget it! :nono: I could do the cleansing thing... but I hate cranberry juice... nasty stuff! Guess my liver will just have to stay dirty. :p 3fc is not sending out email notices until they get on their new server... it'll be another week or so. Joanne D 01-12-2004, 11:50 AM I for one will be so glad when they get back on tract at 3FC!!!!!!!!! Busy day for me so I will just say Hi. I have been all over the place in order to get back here. I was even in 2000 at one point!!!!!!!!!! See you later when I get caught up Joanne MemeToo 01-12-2004, 04:43 PM Joanne, you should be able to get in just by going to http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ Our thread is listed on that page. I was up a pound today. Swelling from all the salt I've been eating no doubt! Gotta do better this week. Mima 01-12-2004, 06:23 PM hi guys-been here almost 2 weeks but I have no computer access-at son's right now. Getting the phone on Friday.Very busy setting up!!!And always at Suoer Walmart where we get the Blue Bunny ice cream with Splenda. It's been cool-went to Goodwill to buy some warmer clothes. Went to a dance last night-it was over at 10. weight staying same !!I WILL go home that way. I'm not going through that again. At Mike's for dinner. Yum yum. Bye for now-talk Friday. Mima Happy Canuk 01-12-2004, 08:06 PM Hi Mima, glad you were able to find us. Nice to hear from you. I guess it all takes a while to get settled. You seem to have good determination - that is great. Ice Cream made with Splenda would be a lifesaver for most of us. I love the Yogurt made with Splenda. Mix it with plain and it still tastes great. Joanne, put it on your desk top. When you come here next time, just right click and click 'Set as desk top item'. Then you will always have it handy right on your desktop. Well Joanne, we were almost as warm as you - for one day, and that WAS the high. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful day for us, except for the freezing rain that came along with it. Yes, Candice, climbing the stairs hurts my hips and my back a lot. Have had to quit for a little while, but will get back to it - only slower. Meme - like you, I cannot exercise for 5 hours a week!!!! I can't even imagine trying to do that. Hope you lose your pound again. Salt is bad for water retention all right. Just drink lots of water and flush it out. Everyone have a nice evening. Joanne D 01-12-2004, 08:08 PM Mima- Glad to see you back...Blue Bunny Ice cream? Never heard of it ,but, I will look for it. Is it fat free? Yes it has been cold. I like it sometimes. Meme- That is how I have been getting in. Everyother time I get the message that I am not logged in. What a pain. About a week ago I had to get a new password too. I couldn't find the other one. I know I printed it out but?????? I now have it taped to the monitor. :dizzy: Happy- It has got to be really cold where you are! You are probably used to it..How is your back? Ally..Still in love? Hope you are doing well. Candice.. Mother-in-laws !!!!I had the one from hell. She has been gone 10 years. I hope my sil never feels about me like I did about her. I really try to keep good relations. He is a good guy and does a lot for us. There were times I wanted to kick him but I kept my mouth shut.. I guess we lost our new people... Maybe we have some lurkers who want to jump in???? Bye you all...Joanne RAR 01-13-2004, 12:08 PM HI! everyone after trying to get back in and reading different groups I am tired out hope to join you guys with all my aches I think this is where I belong got good ideas from all your posts that I read I see we are all in the same boat and it really helps when you have the same problems I am up to 164 and my goal is 140 but when you hit that magical age 50+ it is so hard so maybe alittle encouragement did start to day rode the bike for 10 minutes cant believe that a few months ago I was doing 25 oh well hope to hear from ya Rita Joanne D 01-13-2004, 08:13 PM Welcome Rita- You didn't say if you were on a good eating plan??If not that is a good place to start. Losing weight after a certain age is hard. Gaining good health is a lifetime way to go.. Diets can be helpful along with exercise, but, if you eat to be healthy you will lose the weight. I started with WW and now belong to TOPS. It is a really good support group. It doesn't cost as much as WW and if a person is really serious about getting healthy it really won't matter where we go.. You did good with 10 min. today, now ,go to 15 min. and increase everyday. I walk. I started with short distances and now walk 3 miles several times a week..I am 70 years young going on 71..It took me many years to get into my head that this was the only way I can live to a ripe old age. I have severe osteoarthritis and some days it is hard to get out of the house. I feel so much better when I do..I always take my cd player along. That tunes out the world and makes the hour go faster. You see ,I really don't like exercise.I guess I am lucky to live near the Gulf of Mexico so that is where I walk..From my house to the beach is 3 miles. I used to do 4 + but can't manage that now. I probably could if I talk to myself and convince myself to do it. I know that I would pay the price of the extra pain so that holds me back..You can reach your goal!!! Hello everybody.. I had Dr.appt today. I am not so sure about this South Beach diet... My colestrol went up to 145 and my trig.148.. Not so good. I think I am going to have to watch certain kinds of protien..Ideas??????? Bye....Joanne Ally0306 01-13-2004, 08:22 PM Hello All. I could not get on for a while. Lost my password, then kept typing it in wrong. Too much work. I should log on from work. I have more time to play there. And at home I am on AOL. Too many ads on this site. Anyway....I am low carbing it. And I have a jar of peanut butter in my cupboard calling to me. Gotta run hang up the laundry. I will be back. Joanne D 01-14-2004, 11:39 AM Looks like I had wishful thinking about my colesterol..It was 245 and 248 for my trig. I started to reevaluate my eating this am. Ally- There are a lot of ads on this site . The special K one knocks me off at the begiining every day! Between Dr. appointments and dental this week for exercise has gone down the tubes... Hello everyone..Joanne RAR 01-14-2004, 04:22 PM HI! Joanne you are such a great inspiration I am a lot younger then you (55)and have ostoarthritis also so my walking is limited as my knee just cant make it as I work 2 jobs and both are up and moving so it takes all the will power at times to just do my jobs that is why I decided to exercise on my bike as it is not as hardI am going to do 15 min today as that is my goal right now I am cutting down on everything if I just wouldnt have stopped on the way home from work this morning and had to have that roll hope you keep up tht walking besides all that beatiful scenery as I dont live near the ocean have high cholestrol als was337 went on pills hope to get my excerise in today if I dont do anything else have a great day Rita MemeToo 01-14-2004, 06:04 PM That doesn't work for all browsers... when you right click on a page with IE you have to select "create shortcut" to have an icon pop up on your desktop. I used to have problems with my MIL until I finally told her AND my FIL to get lost. I stopped going to their house, too. This was many years ago. I told them I was tired of their interfering in our lives. My MIL cooked dinner for us and for my husbands brother and his family every Thursday night and I just stopped going. I have a SIL (and her daughter) that I can't stand. We all live close together and now we never see each other. We get along just fine BECAUSE we never see each other! :p My in-laws finally saw that I meant business and backed off. We've got along swell ever since. I'd do anything I could to help them now (and do) and they respect my privacy. I think when you get to the place that you've taken all you can take you don't have any anything to lose so you give up and speak your mind. Only then will the overbearing, pushy people in your life back off and leave you alone. I wonder what happened to Mima's laptop? Way to go Ally... you made it through the maze and found your way back in. How's Mr. Wonderful??? Hi Rita... nice to meet you. We are about the same age - I'm 56. I have Fibro, RA, Osteoarthritis and I'm severly anemic - but, like the energizer bunny ... I keep going and going and going. Happy Canuk 01-14-2004, 07:30 PM Hi Rita, welcome to our little space here in cyberland. Hope you get on a program (heck, I hope I get on a program soon :^: ) soon that works for you. I did the liver cleanse, lost a couple of pounds, got rid of lots of toxins and even some pain, so that worked for me. Rita - I am 57, have o/a in my lower back and hip and knee. Walking can be good or bad depending on how my lower back feels. I also have FM. Most other health problems, I don't have, thank goodness. This is the year for me!! I plan on getting myself in motion, have started eating sensibly, and doing some walking. It's not that easy when my back won't bend - just wants to remain straight and stiff. Meme - Mima was getting her phone hooked up. Hopefully she will be back with us soon. I miss her. Joanne - I hope your cholestrol gets under control. Was it good before you started the South Beach Diet? Ally in lust - how is it going? Still in lust or has it turned to love :D Candice - hope the cookie monster has left you! You do so well. My daughter tells me that EVERYDAY is a fight at maintaining her weight. I just don't want to fight it everyday, once I lose it. So far, it may never happen. However, I will keep trying. RAR 01-15-2004, 10:03 AM HI! everyone well it does seem like we are all in the same boat but we keep on goingLOLright now just cutting down especially swets as I love them!!!!!!!!!! only one roll yesterday and one tiny candy bar that was gone too fast but so far I have been good I am going to ride my bike today and everyday my goal is 30 minutes half way there also have fimo also was a bad anemic till I had my hyster and like Joanne have bad cholestrol but I know from eating only wish I felt like I did at 45 could keep up with the best well girls have a great day me I am just trying to stay warm Rita Joanne D 01-15-2004, 10:19 AM Rita-I can understand working with a bad knee. I have one knee replacement and the other knee is in sad shape.. I was working 8+hour shifts nursing when I finally gave up. After all I had been a charge nurse for 15 years and in nursing off and on for 37. It was time. But,you do need to find some exercise. I couldn't stand the bike. It hurt my knees more. Water exercise is really the best. Just walking in the water is good. They have a lot of new methods these days,in place of surgery. It is too bad that the spas won't lesson their rates to let the ones who need that type of exercise join for just that. I refuse to pay 300+ to just exercise in the water. My Dr. doesn't agree with surgery and injects my knee whenever I feel the need. I had no other choise 10 years ago. Happy-I haven't had a colesterol check in 2 years. The Dr.says I have a lot of good colesterol and he isn't too worried about it now. I think the large amounts of protien I have been eating has something to do with it. My son wants me to try try the herbal supplements to see how they will work. That is what he has been doing. I won't/don't want to take the statens again. My arms and leg muscles hurt too bad the last time I was on them.Terrible cramps!I am going to stay on the points system(WW)but not eat the white carbs. Meme- I am not that computer saavy so I am glad that FC got their server problems fixed for now.. You can tell some MIL's to bug off. It would have not worked in my case. She was old world greek and a master at working her sons mind as well as making her daughter unhappy. My husband has outlived them all and we have just had our 50th anniversary. I can't imagine how we did it.for nearly 40 years she was in my house by any means she could invade it...The relief my hubby and I felt when she was put in the nursing home was boundless. She passed on 10 years ago. Hello everybody...Joanne RAR 01-15-2004, 12:40 PM HI! Joanne I wonder if nursing gives you all these problems? lol been a nuse aide for 35 years have to have a total and like you my other one is bad have tried shots series didnt do anything after being on my feet for 12 hrs I cant walk distance so that is why i have started to ride my bikeas some form of exercise as for water exercise I have heard that is good but I cant afford to put out that money for a pool visit and I have phobia when it comes to getting in the water have 6 years to hang in I really dont know if I want to go thru the total bitas I take care of tooo many that arent always success so will keep on limping down them hallstaking my advil before I start and when I come home as the bextra doesnt help that much as it is emberrasing at times when you have to get in gear fromsitting LOL have a great day Rita MemeToo 01-15-2004, 10:27 PM Bextra hurt my stomach really bad... had to stop taking it. (Everything hurts my stomach!) I've had reconstruction on one knee and arthoscopic surgery on the other. Need replacement on both but the doctors keep saying I'm too young. That's fine with Me(me)! I'll stay young! ;) I get my Jenna tomorrow at 11. We're going to 'do lunch'! She loves that... she calls it a 'Meme Day!' She's a mess. She's going to spend the night and all day Saturday. It's a treat when I get her alone without any of the others. She's the youngest and she makes a point of telling the others that she's the baby.... they don't like that much. School was closed for 3 weeks because of the flu, Christmas and New Year and I had Ross for most of that time so he's going to stay with his other grandparents this weekend so we can have some time with Jenna. She is my miracle baby. She almost died when she was 2 days old. I went to pick them up from the hospital to take them home and instead of taking them home, there was a team from Vanderbilt flying in to take her to the children's trauma center in Nashville waiting for me when I got there. While I was driving to the hospital she had had some seizures or strokes, the doctors couldn't agree on which (and never did agree). She had tubes and IVs taped all over her little body. They took her away in a helicoptor and she didn't get to come home for nearly 2 weeks. When we did get her back she was on so much seizure medicine I slept in the room with her for a couple of months and would lie awake at night and just listen to her breathe ... just to make sure she was still alive. It was a scary time! My daughter had had a C section and was in bad shape herself so I had the whole family and 2 households to take care of the first month or so plus a fragile newborn. A time I don't much like to remember. Then I kept her for the next 2 1/2 years... 'till she started to preschool. But my beautiful blonde hair, grey eyed angel was worth it! Joanne D 01-16-2004, 08:16 PM Rita- Sometimes the best thing we can do for our knees and backs is get the weight off. I know that that is what has helped me. I can't take any of the drugs for oa .My stomach was wrecked years ago from them. Meme- You are the busiest of us all. Bye for now Mima RAR 01-20-2004, 10:29 AM Good Morning everyone !!!!!!!!!!! hope by now everyone is back on track and feeling much better took me a day to recouperate from working 4 days at the hospital and trying to be not so stressesd out in working with my new boss in my part time job cleaning I guess that is a sign that I am getting old LOL was bad ate something sweet each day and only exercised on my bike 1 day but since I feel so much refreshed I will start over today so hope everyone is having a great tuesday Rita MemeToo 01-20-2004, 03:41 PM I am also trying to 'start over'. And recuperating from having Jenna last weekend plus Ross all day yesterday and a wet snow and cold. (Like 15 degrees cold.) The snow didn't amount to much and is already gone but the cold lingers on! Needless to say, I'm hurting! I've done something to my back, too. Probably from holding Jenna so much. She like to sit in my lap and she's getting too heavy for me. (I was stupid and got down in the floor with her once, too ... I know ... DUMB AND DUMBER!) I watched Oprah yesterday ... had to tape it but I watched it last night. I can't imagine losing that much weight. I can't imagine having that much weight to lose. I went on Bob Green's site and according to his chart that you type your stats in, I would only need to lose about 7 pounds to be at the top end of my weight range. That doesn't seem right to me. It gave me a THIRTY pound weight range to fall into. That, in my opinion, is way too much. I'd like to lose about 15 to 20 pounds but I'm not obessing over it ... when I do I either go off the deep end with some weird diet that doesn't work and then quit after a few weeks or I get sick because I'm not eating right. I know I'll never weigh what I did when I got married so I'm not even going to go there!!! :p I was 5' 9" and only weighed 135 pounds. Everybody said I should have been a model because I was so tall ... that's when we wore the 3 & 4 inch heels and I was straight as an arrow ... I used to practice walking with a book on my head. (I did think about becoming a model when I was younger.) But ... then I got married and went to pot ... literally! Joanne D 01-20-2004, 07:59 PM Meme- We all sorta went to pot when we got married. Lord ,I gained 20 lbs the first year...I never have got down to that weight since..Now all I want is to get healthy. I did one of those tests to find out my body weight mass. I am .8 within my ideal weight,So they say. Another 5+ lbs will do it for me. But, Do you know how hard it is to lose that much. It is a constant thing going up and down.. I guess that is because we are human and I know I will never be able to be so strict that I won't eat things outside my eating plan. Take care of yourself. Hello everybody...Joanne Happy Canuk 01-21-2004, 04:16 AM Joanne, you are so close. Just keep plugging away and it will be gone. Mima - nice to hear from you. Glad you are feeling better now. Meme - You are so hard on yourself, but there is not a HOPE of changing you  I think, like you, I have lost and found the same 10 pounds over and over again. I need to get really, really serious about this whole thing. Hi Rita. Are you following ww. I am sorry, but I can't remember. I don't know why it is, but if it tastes really good, leave it alone  I hate that!!! Life is far to short for all this; however, I guess it will get shorter if we don't diet. :?: Candice - Missed the Oprah show yesterday. Forgot all about it. Don't watch TV during the day. Where is Ally in lust? If you have time and want to listen to something really nice, turn up your speakers and listen to this http://www.peacefulearth.com/html/peaceflash.html Mima 01-21-2004, 08:44 AM Good morning-we went out to eat last night and I wasn't that good but.......Going to drive around today!!!It's cool but no one will listen to me!!!It's so nice to see flowers alll the time. Alison will be in her spelling bee next Wed-she's won 2 in a row-going for the sweep!!!Nice to hear from you Anne-where is Ally? Listen to this-Brad's sister's brother in law died Mon-that's the THIRD person to die on Jan 19th at 5 in the morning-last year it was Brad's mother and his wife died on that day 7 years ago. Weird. Bye for now Mima RAR 01-21-2004, 07:25 PM HI! Everyone well it seems like we all have to loose some weight from 5 to 30 it is hard I think in the winter since we are more cooped inand of course we have our aches in the cold at least I do so it doesnt helpin trying to diet so I take a day at a time and make up one thing that I am going to stick to for that day like drinking more water cant handle more then one thing at a timeLOL well have a great wed evening everyone Rita MemeToo 01-22-2004, 12:26 AM I totally blew it tonight. :o WHEW! Bad Meme... BAD BAD MEME!!! :nono: Happy Canuk 01-22-2004, 01:35 AM Oh well, Meme, there's ALWAYS tomorrow. A new day with new beginnings. :dizzy: RAR 01-22-2004, 08:19 AM Meme at least you were honest with yourself we have all been there and done that so today is a new day and good luck Rita Mima 01-22-2004, 08:21 AM Hi guys-going crazy with prescriptions-one ordered in Dec sent to my house instead of fl-got it yesterday but replacement already sent-Brd's not in computer-had to call doc-and now I lost his 2 new ones that I argued with the doc to get so now I have to humble myself to call the office and have them fax them. I have given my new address 3 times and people don't listen. I called Chadwick's to send my daughter's back-ordered boots to her house and THEY SENT THEM TO MY HOME AND WERE FORWARDED HERE at a cost of another 7 dollars-now the prescriptions which are far more important. I hate losing things. But at least I have my computer now even though it takes so long to load. Using AOL. What a beautiful day yesterday-we drove to Everglade City-not much there but no traffic-sort of like FL 0ne hundred years ago. Still not feeling 100% -so congested. Be good everyone. Mima RAR 01-22-2004, 05:40 PM Mima sorry you are under the weather and have had a bad day with things not going well just hang in there as it will get better Rita Mima 01-23-2004, 08:35 AM Well-it turned out well, the prescriptions were not lost, I guess I had a memory loss because they were sent in and are on their way. If you only come down here for the good weather, you are ahead of the game-it's so nice. WE went to a potluck last night-in at 5 and out at 6. I forgot to sign up for cards so we came home. Very nice people here. Anagram-are you in Fl? Be good everyone. Mima MemeToo 01-25-2004, 12:22 AM Well, Mima... I'm glad your prescriptions weren't lost! What an ordeal.
