Hi! I am new to this board, but an old timer on Sugarbusters (since 3-27-01). I have been on a plateau for a while now and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to jump start my program. I was considering the South Beach Diet but am not sure if it will be that successful since I am already eating whole grain carbs and no sugar. Also, I exercise 4-5 times weekly. Any suggestions??? I am glad I found this board and look forward to chatting with new people!

From what I've read about the South Beach Diet it's like SB except for the induction period.
I've been on SB since 7/2002
and am kinda stuck too.
Funny thing is I just started going to the gym 3 times a week about 2 months ago. I've been looking at my meals real close and trying to find what's stalling me. I read caffeine can stall you so I started drinking decaf. after my morning coffee. I also cut my starchy carbs back to mornings only.

How much have you lost since starting SB?

Little info on SBD (http://www.prevention.com/cda/feature2002/0,4780,5023,00.html?)

Hey! i have lost about 75 pounds on SB but have reached a plateau that does not seem to be moving. I exercise 5 times weekly and I have a personal trainer. That definitely helped me move off the last plateau. However, I still would like to lose about another 20 pounds. I was interested in South Beach just to change the pace a little. I still love Sugarbusters and am a firm believer in the power of getting the refined sugar out of the diet. I feel 100% better then I did. It's just the weight loss has been very slow, which I know is healthy, and I am very grateful. However, sometimes it's hard to overcome the mentality that I think for every crunch or push-up I do, I think I should drop a pound!!!Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that..Thanks for your response
