Hello. My name is Jennifer but most people call me Scooter I am 23 and I am tired of weighing 330lb...I just rejoined the gym. Which I at first was embarrassed because I quit but I am getting back into it. And I don't care that I am the fat chick in the place.

My current goal is to be under 300lb. I would love a buddy to help me with this goal. I would love to have a buddy who has MSN Messenger but I am not picky. I hope yall can help. Sorry bout the "yall" I am from Kentucky.

So How was today Scooter? I got up and walked, worked in the flower garden. I am aiming at being more active. What I can't get used to is sweating so much! lol It positively runs down my face! But that certainly helps me drink more water. I had a good day and I hope you did too. Let me know what diet you are following and how things are going. If you are in Kentucky, you probably have the same warm weather! I have been working outside early before it gets too hot. Have a great day tomorrow. I will look for your post. Or send me a private message.

Scooter and Christabelle:

Hope everyone had a great day?? Hot here. I have been cleaning house. I have really been concentrating on drinking lots of water. Rather than soft drinks.

I'll check back tomorrow. Hope you are doing well with your diets.

Scooter

Sorry I haven't back to yall. I have been working all day then babysitting at night...:S...but its worth the money. I have quit drinking coke and for right now I just watching my portions. I am trying to work my way into so I don't go into withdraws and abandon ****.

I'll add you to my list Christabelle. My address is jmmoore92800@hotmail.com. I know its kinda long. One thing bad about diets is I live in Kentucky and we fry EVERYTHING. If you think I am kidding have you ever had a fried candy bar. And you didn't think candy bars could be worse for you.

My goal for this week is to not eat a Funnel cake at the county fair. Well hope yall are doing okay!

sunnygirl

Today was an eye opener for me.

I had forgotten the price I pay for eating fatting foods after getting my body used to low fat fare. We went to Pizza Hut and I have spend the remainder of the day running to the restroom.

Scooter, I live in West Virginia and fried food is a way of life here in the Appalachians. It is hard to avoid. But fried candy bar I just heard of last summer. Never tried it.

If you have been following a low fat diet and been pretty faithful you may have an extra reason to avoid funnel cake at the fair. Our fair is in August. I kind of enjoy going to talk to everyone.

;)

My hotmail address is not only long it is stupid. It is clanoftheShaw@hotmail.com. I use my AOL more often. But maybe we will be on at the same time and get to talk.

Hi Scooter and Sunny,
I had a pretty good day today....I was afraid to check the scale today, but did anyway. I've lost 34 lbs since April. I'm pretty happy about that. I was planning on rewarding myself if I lost..with something....or anything!..that I've been avoiding. Damn if I didn't feel in the mood to eat anything off program. *L* I know I'm gonna be sorry about not eating something good when a craving comes along *L* I guess I can save my reward till July 4th. Hope you all have a good weekend *s*

Hey everyone. I had a pretty good day. I had jury duty all day but it wasn't that bad. The only bad part is they let us out for lunch at 2 and we had been there since 8. So I had to eat Hardee's.

I have been doing good about sticking to water. My brother and sister are in a demolition derby at the fair tomorrow. With working on the cars I haven't had a problem with snacks. Sorry this is short but I just got home and its 3 in the morning. :S...

I hope yall have a good weekend!!

Good job Christabelle on the 34 pounds.

I have not lost anything yet. I am going at this more slowly this time. But still I am paying attention to what I eat and trying to
decrease the amounts. I was going to try sugar busters.....which sounds really good. But I can't be eating different things from the rest of the family.

Scooter, good luck to your brother and sister in the derby. I love demolition derbies. They are fun to watch.

Have fun at the fair. And good job about being faithful to drinking the water. I really think that is important. I went off the ww last summer. But, I kept drinking the water and I have not gained anything back.

Have a great day.

Hey! The fair was great! And I didn't eat a funnel cake...boy was that hard. My brother couldn't get his car to start so he couldn't be in it. But my sister was able too. Her number was the Phantom 5. That is what my brother calls her kids. (yes she has 5 they are 10, 8, 4, 2, 1). She did really good! This was her first so she was kind of jittery. She got pushed over the poles so she could get back in.

Since I was able to avoid a funnel cake my biggest threat is the Fourth of July. But I think I will be able to contain myself. I hope yall are doing okay! You are right Sunny water makes all the difference. When I was going to the gym about a year ago. All I drank was water. I went to the gym three times a week and only controlled my portions. I lost about 20lb just doing that. I don't think people realize the value of water in a diet.

Glad to hear you did so well at the fair. (no funnel cake) :smug:

We had a relaxing Sunday afternoon. The weather is really very nice. It is hot, but not so humid.

I have been working in my flower gardens. They look better this year than they have. I think dieting might give me more energy.

Glad to hear Jury duty was not bad. I have never had to do that. Eating at Hardee's on a diet...they don't have much to offer the dieter do they? But I am sure that did not set you back too much.

You have a good goal. I need to get down to about 175 too. But at 220 if I can get below 200 I will be happy for now. I don't care if it comes off slow........just so it goes away.

I was a nice size 14 once upon a time....I don't need to be there but boy would I like to be under 200! :D

Mickey Mouse tattoo!? Well if it is something you really want. I think I would rather not be jabbed by a needle! But Disney World sounds really good.

I have not thought about a reward. I have done really well this morning. I ate small breakfast and small lunch. Nothing really diet. I am not turning into a rabbit this time. I agree with what you said about portion control. Eat regular food and less of it.

I will check back. I have been trying to walk some in the mornings. We are raising a fair lamb and he needs to walk to keep him from getting too fat.

Talk to you later

Scooter where are you? I know you are not at the fair eating funnel cake.

I hope you are doing ok. I am worried about you. Don't work too hard and enjoy the 4th of July!!

P.S. Guess what I did today?? I went for a bike ride. I felt really good to be getting some exerise

Scooter
07-03-2003, 02:03 AM
Sorry I haven't been posted lately. I have been babysitting when I get off work...When your sister has 5 kids under the age of 10 that is a calorie burner! I am doing pretty good. I have been drinking lots and lots of water.

I LOVE TO BIKE RIDE!!...I was actually thinking today I need to find my bike rack. I am hoping I can go for a ride on Friday if it doesn't rain. I am sick of rain but I am also tired of 90 degree weather. But that is what you get when it is July.

I am getting so tired from work. The other lady in the office has been off for two weeks. So I have had a double load. It is also hard because I sit at a desk for 8 hours. That really drains you it gives you a mental drain. That just zaps your energy. I am hoping I can start making myself ride my bike when I get home. Monday the lady gets back so my stress will be relieved.

I wish I didn't have a sedentary job but I make money so its what I got. I was hoping I could have started the gym by now but we are waiting till my Dad gets the money so we can join together and get a better rate.

I have been managing my portions and cutting down on snacks. If I do snack its a few pretzel snacks. I appreciate you being worried!! That means alot!...I hope all is going well with you. And I didn't eat a funnel cake...LOL I hope it isn't too rainy in WV.

Well the clock just hit midnight I got to hit the sack. Take care. And keep up the good work!!

:) :) :)

Glad you are back. I was wondering if you were working and babysitting. I am sure your sister apprecaiates your help. I would imagine that she really depends on you.

I hear you about the secendary job. I have one too! You are sooooo mentally drained that at the end of the day you feel really tired. But, of course, you don't have the energy. I don't know how you keep up with 5 kids after work.

You're like the Kentucky Wonder Woman! :D

We really enjoyed ridding the bikes yesterday. We want to try out one of West Virginia's rail trials. Have you heard of them? I don't know for sure they might be part of the park system. But they are old rail roads with the tracks removed and you can walk or bike on them. They go for miles, but you can do just part of the trail. But I think I will have to build up to it..... That little bike seat hurts my big seat!!

Anyway I have done pretty well with my portions both yesterday and today. I need to drink more water. I have had iced tea today. Taste good...but water really helps take the weight off. Even though it will make you weigh more. So don't get discurraged if you are drinking plenty.

This hot weather is killing me. (not really) :^:
I bet we have much to same weather. We had a terribly wet June, even cold on some days....Now for the past week mostly hot and dry. Yesterday, where we were bike ridding the sky grew very dark and it looked like it was going to pour the rain. But we had none. Where my husband was working on up the river they had a really hard rain.

I am located close to the Ohio river.

Take care. Don't stay up too late.
P.S. I like your picture with your puppy. I love dogs. We have a part Border collie. (spoiled, of course)

Sunny I hear you LOUD and clear about the bike seat...You have to ride your Bike regularly so that your rump will get used to it. But I am back to sore rump...

I kept up with my water...I did have pizza for lunch. It was free and I only had two pieces. It was vegtable so it wasn't as bad. My next battle is if my mom makes banana pudding tomorrow. Are you doing anything exciting for July 4th?..

Last year we went to our family reunion in Townsend, TN in the Smoky Mountains. And the main road was lit all the way down with fireworks! We rode our bikes up and down the sidewalk to see all the different ones.

Hey we have something incommon we both live by the Ohio River...LOL Your weather sounds exactly like ours! I thought I was going to have to break out my winter clothes in JUNE! Now it is so humid it is miserable. It is very hard to exercise in this weather. Especially since I don't have an air conditioner.

Hopefully I will get a chance to get on tomorrow. I have to babysit in the morning. Plus we are having a suprise Retirement party for my dad on Saturday. It is so hard to keep stuff from my dad.

Well take care!!

I am back!

Hi Scooter and Katie!!

I went to the mountains for the traditional family picnic where there is a ton of food. I only ate a half ton. Not really. I actually did pretty well. We have been soooo busy.

Friday we actually was at home and went to a ball game with fireworks. Very nice. Drank water and did not go over board.

Then Sat. we went to the mountains. I did not really go over board. The desserts were good. But I only had a little. As for food I only ate one hot dog. Then I remembered....this is the side of my husbands family that cannot cook. Everything looks good. Taste like sawdust.

Then Monday........I worked my fingers to the bone....guess who has came for a visit? My mother-in-law. She is really a lot of fun. We go shopping. But the big thing is her house is like "eat off the floor" clean. My house is like eat off the floor cause that is where the food fell.

So now today we are just coming home from shopping where I bought nothing I needed. OK maybe I did need the mat to put the barn boots on. Who knew they made such a thing.

Scooter. You sound like you are doing great. You have such a positive up-beat attitude. I can't wait to see the tattoo. P.S. One of my husbands cousins is appearently a tattoo artist. He and his girl friend had tons of tattoos. I thought gee that had to hurt.

Katie I can't wait to hear more from you. Tell us everything..... Scooter and I won't pry. We just want to know the basics. Married? Family? Job? What part of the country do you live in?
Hobbies? Been dieting long? What program? How are you doing? OK, sorry we want to know everything!

Oh and one parting thought. My mother-in-law is on WW too. So that really helps.

I got the queen of good mother-in-laws.

Sunnygirl.........only lately it is hot sweaty girl.

Scooter
07-11-2003, 12:35 AM
Hey!

Everything is going great here!

I walked two miles today! Boy do my feet hurt. I have flat feet so walking a long time hurts my feet. Plus being overweight doesn't help!

I also have a bad tendency to buy stuff I don't need when I am shopping. Sounds like you and your mother in law really get along.. Thats good some people are not to happy about them.

I haven't been able to weigh at TOPS I have had to babysit. And my scale at home doesn't go to my weight :(. But some day soon I will be able to weigh at home. I have been babysitting at night so I can't go to TOPS.

Well once again tomorrow I have jury duty...Hopefully it won't be a long day. But I won't hold my breath.

Keep up the good work!

Scooter

sunnygirl
07-11-2003, 09:32 AM
Walked two miles!! you go girl! No wonder your feet hurt. I have been walking too. But it is my hip joints that hurt. Of course, I am older than you!

Yes, my mother-in-law and I had a good time shopping. We ate out. I had a roast beef sandwich the first day and baked potato the second.

We had to cut down a really large tree in our yard. So I have been working really hard to clean up from that. I wonder how many "touch-your-toes" all that picking up tree limbs is worth?

I am looking forward to being home all day. I have so many things to catch up on. Mostly laundry. But I need to work on my on-line class, and help my son finish up his 4-H projects.

Maybe I will post again later!

Hello everyone,
I haven't been on in awhile, due to some health problems, but I am back!. it was nice reading all of your posts, and I'm glad i got caught up. You both sound like you are doing well. I've lost 37 so far thru WW. I'm doing well enough, I suppose, but it's not going as fast as i would like it. I keep telling myself that it didn't go one overnight, and it certainly won't come off overnight either. *L* sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't *L* I think i am in major need of a peptalk. Hope to chat with you again...bye

Yes, it is good to hear from you Christabelle! I think we are doing OK on our diets. It is so hot we are drinking water like it is going out of style!

WW is a good program and that is what I am following. It meets my needs. I have to cook for the family and just cannot afford to buy special foods. So I just count the points.

Do you get so you can do it in your head?

Take care! I will be back later. I am taking a clas online so I pop in to check the postings now and then.

Everyone! We are so getting awesome!

Hey Sunny and Chrissy!

Chrissy I am glad to see you back!! Don't worry that is always the most dreaded thing about dieting is that you don't get instant results. I think that has always been a big thing with my dieting. I wasn't seeing it so I just quit. BUT GUESS WHAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO LET YOU QUIT...:D Sometimes you just hit a rut...and we are here to fill in the rut...:D..

So I found a scale that goes up to my weight. And BOY do I like it better than the TOPS scale. But I haven't been to TOPS in about a month or two so I am not sure the difference. And when you are at home you can wear pajamas :D... I stepped on it and it said 316!!!!!!!!

Let me tell you I did a little dance!! And if I give blood on Sunday I will lose another pound...LOL...Well it is late I just had to tell you!!

What online class are you taking, Sunny? I think I asked before but I can't remember :(.

Have a good Saturday...:D

Hey Guys!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been NUTS!...But hey whose life isn't. I successfully babysat for 32 hours over the weekend :S...but somehow I survived. My sister is roofing. But its not so bad just tiring.

:( I haven't been doing so good. I have got stress munchies. My job is driving me nuts and I am considering getting a new one. But I am a big sissy and can't come up with the courage to tell my boss...:?: My dog had an altercation with something or my other dog and her ear is kind of mangled. It is all enough to make you scream. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

But life goes own...Sorry about the whine.

I hope yall are doing good. It is so humid here. I was wondering where everybody was and then poof I dissappeared too. Life will get you sometimes. I have been taking Lean Cuisines to work but my stomach starts growling two hours later. So I am trying to figure out what I can do to fix that. With it being so hot I have been drinking water.

Well I better skiddadle. Take it easy!

You Are Back!!

I am so glad to hear from you. I thought maybe you were on vacation or just really busy. I was hoping that you had not given up!

Why don't you try to add something like sliced tomatoes, carrots
or apples, mellon. Something that you can have a lot of.

I have been on vacation. We flew to Utah. It was wonderful. The food was expensive, we were at a 4 or 5 star Resort. It was a deal where I volunteered to attend a conference. So that is why we were not at Red Roof Inn eating at Micky D's.

Utah and flying were quite an experience since I had never done that before. But the resort was at 7,000 feet above sea level and I got alltitude sickness. I had to drink water all day or I my head would start hurting and I would get sick to my stomach.

My kid has asthma and the really dry air or something made it hard for him to breath the first day. He got better as we were there longer, so did I.

I am so glad I did not give up!

I have been really eating salads and really enjoying the water. I find that I chose it now. Always, (always) before it was like I had to drink it.

Oh yeah. It was 102 in Salt Lake the day we left. But dry not humid. But let me tell you hot is hot. I will take the humidity. I think I actually prefer it.

Humid here too. My kid is going to Cub scout day camp during the day and Vacation Bible school in the evenings!

Oh other good news the lamb makes weight for our county fair!

HI Scooter:

I hear you. I have not been on program for a whole day all last week. Maybe this week.

Don't worry that you can't eat the right foods when you are so rushed. You work and you babysit. You need your energy.

Do you like popcorn made with the hot air popper? I put butter on my son's popcorn and I eat the plain. You you can spray it with "I can't believe its not butter" spray or one like that. It doesn't taste bad to me. (But I really like popcorn) It helps me feel full without eating too much.

I can not think how I would occupy and entertain 5 kids. You are doing great. You will get a handle on this weight thing. Just step back and give yourself some time.

Talk to you later.

Hi Scooter!!

I thougth I would just drop in to say I am sticking to the diet so far today. Of course, it is only 8:23.

I have a busy schedule today, getting ready for our county fair. We also have to be out of town for a couple of days.

Did I tell you my kid is on a livestock judging team? I have learned a lot about livestock. I can look at a pig now and "see" the porkchops. I can think about porkchops and gain weight.

My kid keeps me busy. We need to go to two different towns today. Unfortunately they are in opposit directions. I just can not decide which we should do today and which activities we should skip. We can't be both places. A firends daughter is in the hospital and my son has ice skating lessons in that town. But, we need to hand out some fliers for the fair to hopefully find a buyer for his fair animal. Can't decide which is most important. I think I should go have another coffee. No calories. I will ponder this some more.

Oh yea. I have almost no money. That has to figure into the equation. I need to pay for ice time ($50) and a gift for the girl in the hospital. Hummm. Handing out fliers is free (there is already gas in the car) Or I could take money out of the bank.

Time for more coffee. Thank goodness we don't have any donuts!

Hey Scooter!

Boy it is good to hear from you. It sure is easy to get in a rut babysitting. I know your sister must really need you and you want to help but gee you are young! You need to be getting out and about!

I was checking in but not writting anything until today.

What a chance. I deleted all the addresses from address book, hope I don't get a computer virus.

Can a computer virus attack saved files?

So far I have had no problems. I hope it stayes that way.

The fair was fun. I have never spent so much time at the fair. We had the lamb to show and take care of. My son showed both in the jr. livestock and open show. He showed two lambs and brought one back home with us. It is a Barbados, a hair sheep odd looking thing.

I missed the demolition derby. I guess I must have missed the best part. Knock down drag out fights with cops hauling off people. Cool hate that I missed it. Not next year. I didn't know it was so exciting or I'd have been there. The only one I had ever saw was tame next to this one. Gee leave it to me to miss the good show! lol

More later!!

Yeah its seems that the good stuff happens when your not there sometimes. That happens to me alot. I went to tops tonight and I had lost 2 pounds they had me at 320.5 and my home scales said 315. Who knows...but TOPS has by goal and all that so I guess I will stick with the 320...:S...Well I thought I would drop in before I hit the sack.

You guys must like the fair. I went to one Demo Derby and they took a guy away in handcuffs because he yelled and threw his hat down. I thought that was a little extreme. Well I will write you again soon.

Hi!

I feel guilty. I am posting after eating three bread sticks. Well that was more than I should have eaten.

I have been house cleaning all morning. Hard work. But since I am not finished maybe I can work hard this afternoon and burn some of those calories.

This a.m. I did really well. Toast and yogurt. Followed by bread. I could never stick to the suger busters diet, even though it sounds like a healthy approach.

BREADSTICKS and anything that has the word bread in it are my weakness. I don't know what it is but the first one is very good the second one is awesome and then you can't stop. I tried the Atkins diet and about died from lack of bread...lol.

I just heard a funny quote. "I would stop eating chocolate but I am not a quitter"

I have to admit I ate Fried Mushrooms today they are a big weakness. But tomorrow I am vowing to stick with it. Its been so hot that I have been drinking water like it is going out of style. The humidity has got to GO! Well I better skiddadle...work comes early...:S

Hi Scooter:

I didn't do so great today. We took a day trip and it included stopping at Tammarack. They have really good food, and generous helpings. Plus the gift shop had fudge. Man it was good. I ate so much I should be sick.

I did walk, but it didn't make up for the fudge. I was actually doing ok until the homemade fudge. OK enough said. Atleast we did not bring any home!

Fried mushrooms. Wonder how they compare cal. wise to fudge. Tee hee. So we will promise to be better tomorrow.

I will go drink some water. Maybe wash it out.

Hi Scooter,

Sounds like you are well on your way!!I use to do WW and the best I can remember the point range is 28. I live in Kentucky too but I have never heard of a fried candy bar!! Probably a good thing, candy is weakness!!! I have 130 pounds to lose and it will be a long road. If you ever need support let me know, I know I can use all I can get! Strive for your mini goal and you will reach it! Best wishes!!

Life is busy as usually. Gee I hope this one goes through this time. :D

Sunny boy does fudge sound good..:D but I will just think of eating it and just not eat it. I have been trying to get out and walk my dogs but I just can't seem to get out of bed. Me and the snooze button are fighting. Seems no matter what you tell yourself the night before you body in the morning goes WRONG! But I am determined to do it.

I gained last week at TOPS but hopefully tomorrow night I will do better. Hope yall are doing okay.

Hi Everyone!

I haven't been in to visit for awhile, sorry. I have been so busy getting ready for another school year to start.

I know what you are talking about Scooter. I tell myself it would be so cool to get up and walk to the lake (about 1/2 mile) and back. I would probably be so reved up....and be buing calories like mad. But I hit the snooze button. I LOVE the snooze button.

:dizzy:

Well I ate school lunch and that is usually not a good thing for me. But I found out it is $3.00 this year. I can eat cheaper. I think I can also eat healthier. I plan to see what I might like for lunch that I can take easily. I don't like to spend too much time preparing a packed lunch. (Remember I like the snooze button)

Let me know if you have any ideas for easy healthy lunches!

Hey when you figure out something healthy to fix for lunch let me know...LOL I like to take those frozed good for you dinners but man are they expensive. I had a McDonald's salad for lunch today it was really good. But I also bet the calories were outrageous.

All Hail the Snooze Button...:D...

Hey Hippy I am from Western Kentucky too I live in Paducah. Not big not little but tries to be big.

Well I gotta go weigh in tonight...:S I am doing a program on drinking water hopefully it will go okay. Well I will tell you how I did later gators.

Hey Scooter! I live about a hour and a half or 2 hours from Paducha! We go near there every year when we go to Kentucky Lake.

I have never met anyone on the net that lives so close! How cool!

Exercise! I am way too lazy for that! I am doing the South Beach Diet. I have been on it 10 days and have lost 9 pounds. Maybe when I get some of this weight off I will feel a little more like exercising. I don't know though! I hate it soooooo much that I'm sure I could come up with an excuse to not exercise no matter how much I weigh!!

Much luck on drinking your water!!

Hi Sunnygirl! Who could make it in the morning without the good old snooze button! NOT ME!!!

Have a great day girls!

Well I lost 1lb at TOPS! woohoo!

I think I may try the South Beach Diet. Hippy is it easy to stay on track? I have never met anybody that close to me either. I guess its a small world.

Sunnygirl you still bike riding? My bike is currently bent.

Yes. I am biking. I like to walk but that is where I draw the line at exercise! I used to be the person who jogged no matter what the weather for 3 miles a day!! Man I wish I had that body back. I thought I was fat. Boy, if I knew how much weight I was going to put on....I would have sat back and enjoyed myself while I was slim.

Actually, I think I have lost weight. I am actually staying away from the scales some. I am going on how my clothes are fitting.

I am taking my own lunch to school. Much better. Drinking only water and one black coffee in the morning.

I am not too far away from you all. I have heard of the town you mentioned. Hey in the same time zone anyway!

Take care you all.

Scooter, Congrats on the loss!! It feels great doesn't it!? The SBD plan is very easy to stick to. I have been a diet dropout for years and this has been sooooo easy! Give it a try. I think you might like it and the first 2 weeks give such good results that it gives you the willpower to continue on! Let me know if you decide to try it!

:(

So I fell off the face of the earth and now I am trying to get back on track! Sorry everyone that I haven't posted in so long. I hope everyone is doing okay. I am still going to TOPS. I went to the state recognition day and met a lady who lost 104# which shows major hope for me. I am up and at it now. I will be kinda of track for a little bit I have to have my gallbladder taken out on Thursday but after I heal I am going for the gusto. I am tired of being tired.
