GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today, I REALLY LOVE THE SECOND ONE!:

EITHER WAY

Reach beyond where you are toward your highest possibility. If you attain it, you win, and even if you fall short of the mark, you still win. For it is the reaching that truly counts. Yes, the results do matter, yet what makes them so valuable is the process you go through to attain them.

When you make the effort and get the results you want, that's great. When you make the effort but the results aren't satisfactory, then you've just prepared yourself to come back even stronger next time.

Either way, when you live and act with purpose and passion, you win. When you put your effort toward a clear, positive and meaningful end, you win. Winners are not those who simply have good fortune handed to them. Winners are those people who make the efforts necessary to reach good fortune.

Reach, reach, reach, with every moment, every thought, every action, and you may get the results you want or you may get the experience you need. Either way, you win

BELEIVE YOU CAN

Believing that you can do it will not, in itself, get it done. Yet believing you cannot do it will most certainly prevent you from ever making it happen.

So the choice of what to believe is clear. Believe that you can, believe that you will, and you're well on your way to making it happen.

What do you truly believe you can do? The difference between impossible and accomplished is largely a matter of belief. A world of things that were once considered impossible are now so common we take them for granted. Each one of those things became reality because someone believed it could happen.Doubt is very easy to maintain, but it won't get very much done. See how many of your doubts you can replace with positive and compelling beliefs.

Every moment of every day, your beliefs guide your actions. Believe that you can, believe that you will, and your reality will follow graciously along.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE

WATER - DAILY INTAKE OF AT LEAST 64OZ - we all know how important this is, and if you are exercising you need more - and remember, with the summer heat, even more, so 64oz is the minimum you should have-yeah, yeah, heed my own words!;)

JOURNALING - TRY TO JOURNAL YOUR FOOD INTAKE AT LEAST ONE DAY THIS WEEK - there is not ONE thing about journaling your food that isn't helpful, yes, I know some people don't want to do it, they find it to be a pain, they don't want to do an extra step, it's not in the book, but honestly, it DOES help. Having a problem not losing, journaling may help you find the answer WHY!

NEW WEEKLY CHALLENGE:

TRY THIS FOR ONE DAY!

EVERY TIME YOU THINK YOU WANT TO EAT SOMETHING OFF PLAN- WAIT! SET A TIMER, LOOK AT A WATCH/CLOCK AND WAIT 15 MINUTES!:chin: DRINK A GLASS OF WATER FIRST AND THEN GO FOR A WALK OR DO SOMETHING ELSE. IF AFTER 15 MINUTES YOU STILL WANT IT SO BADLY, LIKE YOU'RE READY TO KILL FOR IT, HAVE IT, JUST A LITTLE. THEN, COME ON THE BOARD THAT DAY AND LET US KNOW HOW THIS HELPED, OR DIDN'T.

GOOD LUCK!

Hey Gang!

Well, I haven't been doing so good with the Power 90 this past week. I've just been feeling like a slug and the exercise gets pushed to the back burner and then there's no time left in the day to do it.

I have buddied up with someone else doing power 90 and we are both re-starting today. I think it will help to have someone at the same stage as I am.

I'm going to try to take DEBs challenges this week. I'm doing not too bad with the SB eating. Not the best, but it could be a lot worse. And I need to be drinking more water. Especially this week--we're supposed to have sun and it's going to be around the low to mid 90's all week.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the board. Hope everyone is doing ok. I'll try to check in later.

Happy Monday,

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Today is a new week, lets make it a great OP one!

Deb, I'm up for all the challenges. Funy, I was just thinking on the way to work that I was going to journal today. May even try to figure calories, etc. I need something to keep me focused. In fact, I'm going to go a little further with the new challenge and apply it not only to things off plan, but to things on plan too. Sometimes I eat just to be eating. I'm not really hungry, so I am going to use that strategy with in-between-meal eating. Struggeling right now and am not happy with myself. I am so sorry I couldn't toalk to you yesterday. I really would have enjoyed doing so. We were just walking out the door. Wish you would have called 1/2 hour earlier, was just dozing in the chair on the patio.

Zane, glad you have found an exercise buddy. That will help keep you motivated.

Everyone else, have a great OP day.

Good Morning everyone!!1
I didn't get on all weekend. trav is and I decided that we would take the weekend off from all of our everyday stuff. I didn't get online, run erraneds, work. I did cook, but it was all minimal work. It was a very relaxing weekend. We walked together everyday. Last night we had a serious idscussion about exercise. I;m not doing very well in that area. I don't have much time and certainly don't have any support. He NEVER exercises. The gym near our house is offering 1 year for $99, and I am dying to join. It's open 24 hours, and only 1/2 a mile away!! I know that financially we could have done it if it wasn't for our big trip to Kansas next month and Hannah's wedding. This wedding in adding up like crazy. We are spending $250 on what I wear, $130 on him (g-man). Although Hannah has 8 bridesmaids, my other sister Melissa and I are doing her big shower on our own and it will cost about $250 each in the end. That is before we even start on the gifts I have to get her for her 3 showers and a wedding gift!!!! I am so frustrated. The other bridesmaids are all single 19-22 and live with parents with money to blow, and Melissa's husband is a cradiologist, so they certainly aren't hurting over this. I love my sister, but maybe I should have backed out, or asked if I could do something else rather than be a bridesmaid.
Ok, sorry I'm whining. I just needed to vent :(

Anyway, I'm having a great time getting my house/life organized and in order, thanks to www.flylady.net You should really check it out. I feel in control again.

Debbie's challenges should be pretty easy for me. I always drink between 90 and 120 oz of water a day. I'm allergic to caffeine, so I'm not really allowed to have much else. I actually bought a 2 liter of C-free Diet Coke 2 weeks ago as a treat for myself, and I've totally forgotten about it. Maybe if I am down on WIW I'll break if out. :) I journal in my posts, but I haven't been taking the time to put it into Fitday, so I am going to try to do that at least 3 days this week. I like the temptations challenge. That may be pretty hard with the bagbysitting on Mon & Wed, but I am going to try it today. If I ever cheat, it's when I'm watching the boys. I'll let you know how it goes....

So for my own personal challenge I am going to try to stick to 1 starch a day this week, and I am going to walk at least 4 times. I'm out the door as we speak. I'll log my exercise when we get back!!

Have a great day everybody!!

How much alcohol (red wine and champagne) is legal per day--which artificial sweetner should I be using in my coffee each a.m. (only 1-2 cups per day max) I have the book but would love to hear some confirmation of what really works and what really doesn't--I've been very good on this diet for about 2 wks and have only lost 2 lbs., but am afraid I'm sabotaging the diet because of honest mistakes--just not knowing what's really legal and what's not. I have only about 7 lbs I'd love to get rid of but to no avail. Don't really drink enough water and am afraid the alcohol could be a hinderance. We socialize a lot and I'm pretty sure red wine and champagne are legal--I know champagne has 0 carbs. If anyone has some extra time I'd appreciate some help and input. Thanks--new in Lake Conroe, Tx (about 45 minutes north of Houston--

Hi ladies, hope you all had a good weekend!

We went to a 50's car show on Saturday. It was fun, but I had the worst swollen ankles! I thought we weren't supposed to get that until much later in pregnancy??? I have it tops on my list to ask the nurse practitioner tomorrow, because it really worried me. I spent the rest of the evening lying on the couch with my feet propped up. I am happy to say I can see my ankle bones again, though.

Sunday we went to a Children's Theatre play with DH and my stepson. So overall it was a nice weekend.

Tomorrow's my appointment - I am getting really anxious. I'm about 1 week shy of the point where we found my blighted ovum from the last PG, and I am praying we find a happy, healthy little peanut tomorrow. Please keep me in your thoughts!

My eating has been out of control. Urgh! I've been craving fruit like mad, so that I at least can give in without too much worry. I just need to cut out the junk. I've given DH instructions to tell me NO the next time I want something bad. We'll see if he comes through - although I admit it's a hard position for me to put him in, isn't it? ;)

ttfn,

Ladyporsche - Welcome! I'd say if you only want to lose 7 lbs., that 2 # in 2 weeks is excellent!

I use Splenda to sweeten my drinks. It doesn't have a funny aftertaste to me like Nutrasweet.

Sorry I can't help with the alcohol question, but I don't drink (especially now that I'm pregnant!). I'm sure someone here will have the answers, though - this is a wonderful, extremely helpful group of people!

Again, welcome!

LadyPorche - I use Splenda, too. It tastes just like sugar to me.

I only drink red wine and I did have one of those low carb beers at my sister's b-day party. I felt like a dork though. I'll stick to the red wine. As far as I know, you can have one glass a day, although I only have one or two a month. I'm junt ont a big drinker.

Hope that helps some. 2 lbs is a great start!!!

Good Morning Ladies!

Well since I don't post on weekends, I have some catching up to do. First off, we went on our date Friday night, dinner and movie. We went to Outback where I ate the grilled shrimp (very good) and fried sweet potato chips and side salad it was very filling and good. Next, we ran to the movies due to being very late and we had to sit in the very front row. Need I saw more about the neck? Anyways, Finding Nemo was just so cute. I laughed and laughed. WHich I tend to do loudly. Hey somebody's gotta support the movie. Anyway, It was very cute, although some one asked about the shark part. It is brief but scary for the Little ones. Some little girl was screaming like crazy.

Saturday, we had a birthday party at McDonalds for my newfew. I did good and did not eat at all. I had some water. No cake either! Then it rained all day, so we headed to the gym and worked out. and then I ate lunch at the gym, sweet potatoe chips and turkey and cheese sandwich with no bread. Later that Night we ate outback again to go this time. (Can you tell we really like that place)

Sunday, was not so good day for me. After church we had to take some of the youth to travel an hour so my husband could preach at a youth detention center. So we had to stop for lunch at fastfood. I fell and ate nuggets  What can I say pier pressure and the smell of Mickey D's in van. Anyways, I did pretty good the rest of the day, besides a few sixlets I ate (more pier pressure) So, feeling so ashamed, I ate a salad for dinner. So we shall see. I guess I could have been much worse right? The kids are so sweet, asking why and I also eating right, lol, that I look good already. Whatever, lol. Anyways, back to work on Monday waiting for boss to come running in and distributing work. I guess I should get prepared.

Later Ladies.

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd introduce myself :)
I'm 33 sahm and wife.

I just started sb today and hope to lose
about 40 pounds by the end of the year...
I don't know if that is too ambitious... but that's my goal!

If no one minds, I'd like to post my menu's for each day. I'd love input on them on whether or not I'm eating the right things, too much of one thing or leaving something out.

I'm also going to join the exercise board. I've just started doing Walk away the pounds tapes a few weeks ago and have really become hooked on them!

I'm pretty good at getting my water in, so I'll take the water challenge :)

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Morning all!

AHHH--back to something of a normal schedule! Two weeks before I head to NC!

I see we would ALL wish away our stomachs if we could--well, isn't that what we are here for????

JenninMN--I'll be thinking about you tomorrow! I hope everything goes well--it sure sounds like you have a lot of hormones kicking around in there!

Ladyproche--I agree with Jenn--if you are trying to lose 7 lbs, then two is an excellent start! I wouldn't have more than one glass of red wine a day, skip it if you can. Splenda, Equal, Sweet-n-low, are all accceptable sweetners. Some of us find we like some better than others. Many of us use a sweetner called AGAVE (it's a liquid a lot like honey), but you can probably do with one of the ones I listed above. Don't know about the chanpagne, the bood really recommends dry red wines, but I suppose a dry champagne would be OK (it is wedding season!).

Talitha--HA! I remember so well when all my friends were getting married how much their weddings would cost me as a bridesmaid. Sheesh, I think forking over the money for the dress should count as the wedding present! I always wanted to be supportive, but by the time we finished with the list of the dress shoes, jewlrey, hose, even the color of nail polish--I was ready to strangle them!!!! Thank goodness I'm too old for that nonsense now! Good luck, I know you will have fun and your sister will appreciate your efforts.

Jackie--I know where you are coming from. I like Deb's 15 minute challenge! I'm planning on using that one as much as possible this week! You'll get back in the swing.

Zanne--me too on the 15 minute challenge. I've been a slug too--so let;s both get our butts in gear and get moving!

Deb--Good new challenge this week! Sorry to hear about your cold--really, I can't get mine to go away completely--nose is still running. I hope yours gets better much more quickly! I hope your DM is doing better too! Let us hear from you when you get a chance!!!

BOB--Glad to hear you are high and dry! I guess when it finally rained the heavens really opened up! We are having gorgeous weather this week--finally!

ARC--Glad to hear that you are back OP! Do the best you can if you stay OP and try not to worry about how fast the scale moves (I know, much easier said than done) then good things will happen, I promise!

Time to get to work! Have a great day everyone--let's make it the first day of a great OP week!

Talitha: just a little note about weddings too. I am standing in my friend's wedding. Who calls me out of the blue, we haven't talked in over a year to ask me to stand. I did not even know she was seeing anyone  Well, I guess it was the moment and I said yes, but after thinking of all the expense and talking it over with DH, I declined. I am preparing to get pregnant as everyone knows and still designing my nursery and figured that would be money better spent. Well I thought I was in the clear. Until she called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me somebody dropped and she really wants me there, So I got a free dress. Although everything else will cost an arm and leg. At least, the dress is free! Feel kinda bad, but hey I was honest. So now instead of dropping $400 and I am dropping $200 (go figure) Next, thing is the party she wants for the girls is out of town. So I don't know if I am going. She knows I don't drink or gamble so really not much for me to do. Besides 6 out of 7 girls have breast implants and 3 out of 6 work in the entertainment business (if you know what I mean). Geez this will be a great match up, I am sure they will be able to spot the pastor's wife with no prob. My husband is performing the service.

Hi all! Long, busy weekend for us. Hubby finally got back from his 8 day fishing trip and I'm so glad to have him back! He grew a beard and the kids were a little leery of him. It took them a bit of time to get back into the groove with "daddy" but it happened.

Okay, I really fell off the wagon yesterday. It was a planned fall, though, and really it was only my second serious deviation from plan in about 8 or 9 weeks so I'm not beating myself up over it. We went to a baseball game yesterday and we were invited to a suite where they have all the free booze and food you can stuff in your face! I had lasagna and garlic bread and beer and... then the dessert cart came. Oh, my! I finally chose the peanut butter cheesecake (foregoing the oreo cheesecake and the snickers pie.) I have to say that I felt bloated and ill after all that, but I'm back on plan and I didn't do TOO much damage, so far.

I am taking Deb's challenge to heart and I just chugged 24 ounces of water. Ugh... feeling a tad ill... I'll let it settle a bit then go in for more. I had to drink a ton of water when I was pregnant and I had cut out all caffeine, and I still don't drink anything caffeinated anymore.

bloviator - welcome!

Jenn - I will be thinking about you. We struggled to get pregnant and I remember that early ultrasound at 7 weeks when we saw these two microscopically small little tadpoles with beating hearts. I know how stressful it is to wait to see that, I hope the best for you!

Talitha - I sure could use some organizing skills. I want someone to nominate me for an Oprah organizing show or something! Like a makeover for the organizationally challenged!

Want - I'm lazy, but I'll respond to your pm soon!

Okay, off to drink more water! I'm on plan and looking forward to my big salad at lunch! I can do this. I did it for 8 weeks with only minimal cheating. I'm motivated and looking forward to how well I'll look come Thanksgiving! Happy Monday!

Mom got to come home yesterday! Yeah! She amazed the staff that she got to come home so early but that's mom. She can rest better at home. We are going over tomorrow to spend the day and celebrate my daughter's 16th b-day. I have been a terrrible example of SB but I am back on track this morning. Sounds familiar doesn't it..but I am truly geared up to getting lined out. The scales were kind to me this morning and I'm going to take advantage. When they were up so high the other day I kept asking myself...why do you want to sabatoge yourself? It's like duh...why do I do this. Of course I know this past two weeks its been the stress.

This morning I went to put chips in my mouth and decided to wait a bit. So I am really hyped about this weeks challenge. I LOVE the idea of waiting 15. I'm sure it will stop a lot of those spot nubbles and munchies.

Welcome ladyporsche! You are not that far from me at all. I love in Evergreen..not too far from Coldspring. My mom is actually in Willis. I use to live there 3 years ago before we moved here. Losing 2 pounds when you only have a bout 7 to lose is awesome! The less you have to lose the slower they usually come off.

Welcome bloviater! I'm 38 and a SAHM also. I have five kiddos but only four are still at home. We home school so life is pretty full. You will love this way of eating.

amhlawyer ..planned cheats are the best. It's like you have a goal and are more in control than when you just do like me and do a belly flop into the chips.

Wanttheoldme....all this talk about weddings...ugh...LOL My daugher is going to be in a wedding next year for a friend. If the cost is that much it aint gonna happen. She's been in two so far this year that have cost nothing..closer to my budget. :)

Susan...I agree. I'm all for wishing the stomach away. I'm trying but it just aint happenin' . Are you vacationing in NC? When I was a little girl I lived in Charlotte. I love both of the Carolinas.

Talitha....sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I think resting is an important ingredient in weight loss. As well as just making us feel better.

Jenn....saying a little prayer for ya. Not only for your health but for peace during this pregnancy. It's amazing all the changes hormones cause in the body. I remember when I went in for my ultra sound after my loss...I was on pins and needles till I saw Zachary moving. He was and is fine...rotten 6 year old now. Moma's spoiled boy. ((hugzz))

Jack-K....we CAN do this. Goal is soooooo close. I took your hand last week..you grab mine this week. We will get there! :D

I'd better get off my hiney and get moving. It's almost 90 already and I have a ton to mow. I don't think I will get much done this morning..ugh.

Love,
Crystle

I ate and ate and ate over the weekend- I'm not exaggerating one bit. I totally blew it and I'm back up several pounds. I'm so angry at myself. No self control. Today I have zero energy and feel just "blah" - guess that's what I get. I'm getting back on track- but I did so much damage. I just feel crappy about everything now. Hopefully, I can get some of the "damage" off by WIW. I have to realize that allowing myself just one treat does not work with me. All that does is give myself the green light to eat anything and everything in sight. So the challenges are the same, right? Eat right, exercise, and drink lots of water? The one good thing I've been doing lately is exercising. Not that it helps much when you pig out. As for the water, I always drink lots of water. So my personal challenge will be staying OP...

Well back from lunch not too long ago. I hit the Albertson's salad bar again. Everyone would be so proud to know that I have added yet another veggie :p to my salad. Today I added flat leaf spinach and the before broccoli. Its a big deal to me since I never eat green veggies, I kinda dislike them, but not too bad when hidden in salad  Hope all is doing good today, kinda empty here. I plan to shampoo the carpets after work, you think I can count that as exercise? Whew! I plan to have chicken, green beans and sweet potato for dinner. You know I have been scared to have any sugar free dessert like the blue bunny ice cream, but why I wonder, I am not losing anyways  Perhaps I may endulge today. :hyper: I also ate 1 egg for breakfast today, trying to cut down, but I was very hungry by lunch time. So tommorrow morning back to 2 eggs!

Good Day Ladies :grouphug:

Wow, it's been a busy day. Lots of posts.

Getting ready to head home. Going to walk 3 miles and then have dinner (burritos). Then off to the ball park. Taking a huge glass of water. Will also refill it at least 1 or 2 times. That should get my water in for today.

Talitha, Glad you enjoyed your relaxing weekend. It's nice to do that every once in awhile. Weddings can be very eaxpensive. Believe me, I'm still paying for my DD's. Glad you have challenged yourself as well as Deb's. It is such a great feeling to accomplish something you have set for yourself. Good luck. I loved the flylady too, but I got so many emails from her I had to cancel.

Jenn, saying a little prayer for your Dr visit tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be just fine. Keep drinking that water and that will help with those swollen ankles. Craving fruit is a good thing. I'm gonna make my DH polic me too. They have to be good for something.

Tonya, I think you did great with your eating. Nuggets are not the worst thing you could have eaten. Congrats. I got such a laugh out of your wedding story. Yes I believe you will be easily spotted. Good fo ryou adding new veggies. Next time try shredded zuchanni. No taste really, but crunchy.

Bloviater, welcome to this board. It is great for info and support. 40 lbs sounds like a realistic goal to me. Just stick with it and don't cheat and it will come off fine. Good luck

Susan, I don't wish my stomach away, I need a serious tummy tuck or fold or something large like that. Maybe your lingering cold is allergies. Tis the season.

BOb, Glad you are dry. I saw that river on the news this morning but didn't realize it was in Sarasota. Get rid of all that rain before I get there please.

Ladyporche, Welcome to our board. I see someone has answered your questions. If you only have 7 lbs to lose it will take some time, so you are off to a good start with 2 lbs. Red wine is legal, champagne, I'm not sure about. Good luck.

Adrienne, Don't beat yourself up, you are already back OP. The only thing is don't plan those cheats too often. Take it from me, they become more frequent the more you do them and harder to get back OP.

Country, so glad you mom got to come home. It will be easier for everyone. Boy could I relate with "back on track this morning" I sure wish I knew why we do this to ourselves. I am so tired of saying that every Monday. I hope I am to the point when I started SB as how tired I was of starting yet another diet and not sticking to it. Somebody let go of our hands last week. So this week lets make a pack to hold on tight especially through the weekend.

Heartmom, you are not alone. With me, one cheat and it is a greenlight for the whole weekend. I gained a whole 7 lbs this since Sat morning. That is my challenge too. Get through a weekend OP.

Have a great OP evening everyone.

Wow, so many posts today, I thought I might have missed a day and it was already Tuesday. Well, it is still Monday, and I hope to meet the challenges of the week. This week is going to be crazy for me, preparing for this trip.

My Aunt is in town from Texas, and I took her to lunch today; she kept commenting on how "tiny" I am and how great I look. It feels so good for someone (who doesn't see you everyday) to notice the hard effort/work. It really helps to stay on plan too. You don't want to blow it when you are getting those types of compliments. We went to Red Robin, and I got the cobb salad. It was romaine & iceberg, but I asked for all romaine. I got ranch dressing to go with it, and nearly finished the whole thing. It was huge too. Oh well, better than something not good for you. I did try one of my niece's HUGE steak fries, and it was pretty good, but I only had 1.

I have to get to Trader Joes tomorrow to pick up some pita bread and some "legal" snacks for our trip. I hope to stay as much on plan as possible.

Yellow: Thanks for the recipe for the granola; sounds great.

Talitha: That's really too bad that you can't join that 24-hour gym. it would be perfect; you could work out when your hubby is home. $99.00 for a full year is like a quarter a day. But, go ahead and whine all you want; that's what we're here for. Good luck with the 1 starch a day, I think it will really show results, especially if you are walking 4 times per week.

Lady: I think everyone pretty much answered your questions, and I don't drink enough to be an authority on it, but wanted to let you know that if you are only trying to lose 7 pounds and you have lost 2 in 2 weeks that you are doing something right. I wouldn't expect you to lose anymore than that. The less you have to lose, the slower it comes off.

Jenn in MN: I will be thinking of you and will say a special prayer for you tonight. What time is your appt? I hope you post when you get home so we can read the good news.

Want: Good job on eating; it could've been a lot worse.

bloviater: Welcome. Good luck meeting your goal. We would be happy to look over your daily menu, if you want to post it.

amhlawyer: If that was only your 2nd real splurge in 2 months, than you are doing awesome. You obviously know how to get back on track and put it behind you! Keep up the great work!

Country: Glad your mom is home; hope she continues to do well.

Well, better get some stuff done around here; still don't know what's for dinner.

Take care, and I will check in tomorrow.

Dinner is cooking and I only have a minute to say hi. Work this morning was fun....the bossy lead decorator was off today. I sure hope she does not read this, since it happens to be my married daughter! I got to do what *I* thought needed doing! I like that...she always gives me the stuff no one else wants to do. I know she gets a kick out of bossing her mother around.... :)

The weekend was lovely. I so enjoy the time off now that I am working. I am going to change my hours though, to three days of 8 hours, instead of four days of five hours. I want two days off a week. I just don't get anything done when I get home and I have not gotten better in the three weeks I have worked....

Eating is ok. Not stellar, but ok. Tonight, I am poaching fish, and making green beans and lentils. Its late....but Tom had some out door chores and I was working on vacation stuff.

You Florida gals....anyone near Cocoa Beach? We are hoping to stay there, and Marco Island, and Sarasota. Still working on the details....if you are near these places, and might be up for a dinner meeting or something, please let me know.

Gotta go! TTFN!

Hello Ladies!

I just wanted to thank all of you for the warm “welcome-backs” – y’all always make me feel so special! As you can see – I popped in one day and then disappeared again! I’m so pitiful! I’ve been eating a lot and once again – felt guilty – so I didn’t come to the board. I did really good today, so maybe – just maybe – this is a good start.

I’m working for my old boss this week. Before I was a teacher I was a secretary at a court reporting firm. Their secretary is on vacation this week so they asked me to fill in. It’s been nice seeing all of my old friends. I worked there for 6 years –but I don’t miss it!

I’m going to try to catch up on some posts now..if anyone asked me anything specific last week – please ask again….I only went back once to read posts. Here’s my catching up for today!!

ZANNE: What’s the Power 90?

JACK-K: I’m with you on the struggling thing…I just can’t get my butt in gear! What can we do?

TALITHA: I’m the same way with exercising. I have time now that it’s summer – but I don’t want to do it! That deal at the gym sounds great - $99 for a year? Are you sure that is right?

JENN in MN: How far along are you? I’ve had a blighted ovum in the past – so depressing. I’m sure everything will be ok this time…keep us posted. I’m here for you if you need anything – I now feel as though I’m an expert on problem pregnancies – so if you have any questions – ask away! Good luck tomorrow – I’ll be thinking about you!

BLOVIATER: Welcome to the board – you will love it here – everyone is so nice and helpful! Well, I’m not that helpful cause I have a hard time staying on plan and on the board! Haha! I’m just an occasional visitor that happens to do the diet every now and then! But – everyone else can help you!! Good luck!

FILLISE: What are you going to NC for? Vacation? Business? Do tell! I’m sure you told already – but I didn’t see it! I would love to go there for vacation – I hear it’s beautiful!

WANTTHEOLDME: I see that you are planning on getting pregnant. Have you had any before or tried to get pregnant? Do you see a doctor in Covington or in New Orleans? My new specialist is at Ochsner in New Orleans. I love her. Hopefully she will get to the bottom of all of my problems…6 miscarriages is enough! I’m hoping the next one works out – I can’t take much more! I can just see you out with all of those breast implants!! HAHAH!!!!! I feel like that with my friends – they are all so cute and then there’s me! Oh well!

AMHLAWYER: Sounds like a great day to me! How nice to be in a suite at a game! I often fantasize about what it would be like to be in a suite at one of the LSU football games – you know – air-conditioning, bathrooms, booze and food! How awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed your day!

HEARTMOM: I know how ya feel! I’m the poster child for bad eating these days. I can’t just have one little cheat – once I blow it – I BLOW IT! It’s all over after that one nibble off plan. I hate that about myself! I’m going to try to get my butt in gear right along with you!!!

DEB: Sorry to hear that you are under the weather! I hope you are up and outta the house in no time!! Take care of yourself girl! Thanks for the wonderful motivating articles – hopefully some will sink in this thick skull of mine!!

Well, I’ll see you ladies later! Hopefully, I will be back on tomorrow with good news that I did ok with my eating!!

Hey Y'all

I've got some exciting news! I just got a call from my friend that is the Captain of our Mardi Gras float. She told me that they got the assignments for our floats for this Mardi Gras. Are y'all ready for our float theme?!?!?!?!?! Drum Roll please.......it's LSU!!!!! Can you believe that?!?! I am so pumped up! I can't wait now. It will be so beautiful - I will get to see a drawing of our float this weekend. It isn't made yet. Each year - they make the floats in New Orleans....they are absolutely beautiful! I'll get my friend to e-mail a pic to me and I'll post it for you!

Nighty night!

Hey, I think I need to finish explaining the gym to you all. I got distracted about hte expense of it (and the wedding), and didn't tell you the actual deciding factor. I don't know if I ever mentioned my weight problems as a teenager. My first boyfriend when I was 13 broke up with me in front of a whole group of friends and said that if I lost 40 lbs he would go back out with me. I was 160, but you have to take into account that I was a 34DD at 13. I literally stopped eating except for orange juice and celery. I would go 4 days without a meal. I got down to 125, and he told me he would go back out with me 'since I looked so good'. I turned him down and he pushed me around a bit. I actually fell and broke my tailbone, and had some random bruises. I have been obsessed, suicidal, annorexic and bulimic in spurts ever since. All over my weight. I found that the only way I could be was a size 6(unhealthy mentally) or a size 16(ignoring my situation). It sounds so stupid looking back, but California was really rough on me. Every guy I've ever been attracted to treated me like that, except for my husband. It was aesy to lose the weight if I was doing it under preasure. Travis is wonderful. One time I actually broke down and begged him to call me fat and treat me like crap so that I would lose weight. Of course he didn't care how I looked and I didn't know how to handle that. For the first time I am doing this for ME. God has changed my life so much since California, that I do not even feel like the same person. I refuse to think of this as a diet. It's a new, healthy lifestyle. We prayed about whether the gym was something we should make a priority. You know what it came down to? That is the step that would put me over the edge and differentiate between diet and lifstyle choices. I cannot walk into that place without getting into an obsessive competitive mindset. I know that I would drop weight like crazy, but it would be because I was cutting out too much food, and working myself to death. The second I let myself fall into diet mindset, I know I will be unstable mentally and unhealthy spiritually. I love who I am right now, even though it's going slow. I want to get healthy NOT thin. Thin would certainly be a perk if it works out.

I hope that was not too heavy, or 'illegal spiritual content'.

On a lighter note. Here are a few replies.

Tonya- your reply about the wedding you are in absolutely CRACKED ME UP!!! I even made Travis come in here and read it, becasue it is almost the same situation. All of the b-maids (except the sisters) are sizes 0 to 2 and have 'enhancements'. We call them the bimbo bridesmaids, and we are the Big bridesmaids. This friday is the bachelorette party, and the Bimbos are running the show. they rented a stretch expedition that holds 20 people to drive us aroiund buckhead to go bar hopping. Lickily Melissa (my other sister on SB w/ 4 kids) and I can stick together since neither of us are big drinkers or have EVER been bar hopping. We have to go and we are both dreading it. They certainly look at us as conservative Christians, but I think they respect us for going along, but chosing to stand our ground on the drinking issue. I feel old and boring, and I'm only 25!!! But then, I wouldn't change places with them for all of the world!!

Bloviater - welcome!!!! You're gonna love this. I can't wait to get to know you!

Jenn in MN - We'll be praying for you tomorrow!! Your baby is going to be beautiful!!

Fillise - I was hoping I was too old for it, too, since I'm married with a kid. I actually think my sister just asked me becasue I asked her for mine. We haven't been getting along very well lately, which makes this even more difficult. I love her, though, and turnung her down would have desastated teh whole family and given her more amunition to say "See, it's her fault we don't get along" Oh well...

Deb 0- I hope you start feeling better soon. Selah has her first cold this week and has been absolutely miserable, but she did get her FIRST TOOTH!!! That could account for some of the agony.

Jack-k - The Flylady emails can get out of control, but they have an option to get all of the emails lumped into one big one a day. I do that and then print it every night and put it on the Fridge.

Monet - Did you try that 365 milk yet? It's awesome!!! I'm hooked. Those Ok-Mok crackers you suggested were awesome, too. Travis even loved them. I couldn't find them at my Harry's though. I ran through the other day and checked. I will look harder next time to be sure. So what 2 days are you going to have off each week? I would love to get together sometime. Would you like to go climb Stone Mountain with me sometime? It's a pretty big challenge, but might be fun.

Pancho/Fruitloupe - yes it's only $99. It's a really good deal, but if you read the top of my post it might make more sense why I'm not going for it.

Sweet dreams everyone.....

Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been away for such a long time, but my life has changed considerably since I last posted here. I was married in April and my wife and I are expecting a baby boy in mid September. I have long since fallen off the wagon, but I am ready to start the SB life again. I haven't weighed myself in at least 6 months. I know that I have gained most of my weight back again. :(

My wife and I both need to start SB. She plans to start after she has the baby in a couple months, but we are looking to setup a gameplan now so to speak. She is new to SB and, thankfully, has a passion for cooking! Those of you who may remember me know that I was not the best cook in the world!

Anyway, hopefully we will start posting more often (probably my wife moreso than me since I work overnights) and I look forward to being a part of this board again. I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to chatting again soon.

Good Tuesday Morning,

Hope everyone had a great OP night.

I did get my 3 mile walk in last night. It was hot, but I figured I might be sweating off some wt. No chance. The scale did not move this morning. :( I was very disappointed, especially since I got up 5 times during the night to potty.

Eating was good yesterday. Nothing after dinner except for water.

Pancho, It is so nice getting those compliments. Makes you feel so good and proud of yourself too.

Monet, I got a kick out of reading about your bossy boss. Seems like your DD has learned decorating from her mom.

Deb, you poor thing. Take careof yourself and get some rest. Drink lots of oj. Hope DM gets out soon.

Fruit, Now keep your butt on here, good or bad eating. It will only get worse if you don't have us. I guess we need to get back to our old resolve. What do we really want? I really need to put more thought into what I put into my mouth. Good luck. I'm coming down to NO in Oct. Maybe we can get together for lunch. How neat about the float. I know you are excited.

Talitha, I'm so sorry for all your sorrows and problems in your early life. No one should be treated like that. I'm glad you turned that guy down after you lost the wt. But it is clear that you have evolved into a better beautiful person. You Dh sounds very supportive and wonderful. You have a great mindset. I'm sure you will be successful with this WOL.

Daramus, Welcome back. Congrats on your wedding and new baby. How exciting. I'm sure with your wife doing SB too you will do great. Hope you can keep posting.

Have a great OP day everyone.

Jackie

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!

FINALLY, gosh, I can't believe it, I can actually post! MICHAEL slept over at his friend ALEX'S last night, LAUREN is still asleep and ELI is in the shower getting ready to go to work and I couldn't sleep in so got my butt out of bed and came on the computer:D

Still sick, not that I thought I'd wake up and it would be magically gone, and really shouldn't complain about it considering my DM is still in the hospital with pnemonia, which she keeps telling me that she started out the way I am-NOT! She was a lot worse from the beginning, I'm not that sick. I rarely get sick but it seems that the last 2 times I've gotten a cold the symptoms I get are random and come at different times. I guess it's good that I don't get hit all at once with all the things, THEN I really would be in trouble. I think the worst of it is being tired.

I didn't go to yoga yesterday, not only because of being sick, actually, that wasn't the first reason for not going, as when I got up yesterday I wasn't sneezing and my nose wasn't instantly running, but being tired and my arms being so sore is what made me not go. My arms aren't sore from being achey from being sick, no, they're sore because, even though I was sick, I tried to cut the grass on Saturday. I mean TRIED because it was a fiasco!

I usually have someone come cut the grass but down here, esp. in the summer when we tend to have a lot of rain grass grows very fast and the guys come every 2 weeks. Well, I don't have the $ to pay, so I tell them to come and ask after 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I hadn't seen, so when 6 weeks rolled around I saw them and asked them to cut the grass, they didn't have time and said they'd be back almost a week later - they never showed. Well, it's been over 2 months since the grass was cut and the kids, esp. LAUREN was complaining that our yard looked like a "WHITE TRASH" yard. It looked pretty bad I have to admit. We have 2 lawn mowers, neither work. Went to my neighbors and asked him to borrow his weed eater to try and get some of the height off the grass but his WE is old and it kept conking out on me and I gave up. I was offered the use of their lawnmower so I tried to cut the front lawn - what a job! I could only do the main part in the front, the grass was so high it was ridiculous and the LM cut off from the grass or running out of gas and I had to ask my neighbor 3 times to start it and then MICHAEL 4 times to start it, I tried and honestly, I don't know why they can't make it easier to start a lawnmower! At one point I had to get something from my neighbors house and I literally blacked out, I couldn't see much but black blotches and I knew that I had had enough! Whatever I did, that was all that was going to get done. Next day - oye, my arms, following day, I thought my arms were going to fall off. Even today, they are still sore-I mean, they REALLY hurt!!!!! The backyard still looked like a jungle and I honestly don't give a crap. I have to get someone out with a riding lawnmower to do the back and then just make sure someone gets out here before it gets like this again.
I've learned my lesson.

As I mentioned DM is STILL in the hospital. I don't think any of us thought it would be this long that she'd be there, but she's still hacking away. I think she's hoping to get sprung today, but I don't know. We had a REALLY bizarre incident yesterday between my DM and I. My parent's are from Rochester, NY and the other day I saw a piece on the news about a huge fire up there, asked my DM is she saw it, she said no, so I went online to the newspaper website from Roch. to read it to her, the current days page came up and it was really weird because there was a story about a fire, not the same one, but what caught my eye was the street that my DM grew up on was listed in the piece and it seemed to jump out at me, it was a bit weird, I NEVER go on this website, and to see that, first page...so I went to the article about this fire, read it to her and then was just looking around the site, clicked on the obits, randomly read some names and jokingly said to my DM, good, doesn't seem anyone we know has died! So she says, "if you want to see if anyone you know has died, you have to go to Parskyfuneralhome.com." I asked her "What? I didn't know they had a website!" Not something I would of thought I'd of known, it's a funeral home that my Uncles father started long ago, long since sold, so I went on there to see it-I go to the obits and started to read off names and I get to one and my DM says OMG and starts to cry. Her cousins husband died on Sunday! My DM was going to call her last week to see how her cousins DH was but she ended up in the hospital on Wed. night and can't call from the hospital, so she never got to call. Her cousins DH had cancer. My DM's other cousin had called her that morning (yesterday) and didn't say a word about it so my Mom figured she just hadn't heard yet. My Mom's cousin was telling her that she was trying to get ahold of their aunt and couldn't reach her (now we know why). Last night I called my Mom's cousin in Roch. figuring she knew, she didn't know either! Seems no one has been told, it's not in the papers, the cousins live in NC though they are from Rochester and the funeral will be there tomorrow. Through the bizarre events that took me to this site, we realized if I hadn't gone to it, we wouldn't of know as we do about his passing. The funeral home writes the obit and sends it to the newspaper, it was a Sunday, the newspaper doesn't get it til Monday and probably it will be in todays paper. Okay, I know boring story, but to us we thought it was a bit bizarre!

I have to tell you guys about this weird fruit. Very rare and hard to find but quite interesting. It's called MIRACLE FRUIT. ELI'S nephew who we ship plants to told me about it and we were able to find one the other day and the lady gave us some of the fruit to try. The fruits look like elongated cranberries, a lighter color as well, 85% pit I'd say which doesn't leave for much of anything to actually "eat" more like sucking what little there is off the pit. But what's really interesting about it is, up to 30 minutes after eating it, anything that you eat that tastes sour will taste sweet. We thought, okay, how many lemons and limes can one eat? BUT, the kids and I tested it, and I ate a whole lemon without wincing! THEN last night we had some blackberries that were sour, ate a miracle fruit and they tasted like sugar!

Okay, so that's about what's been happening with me lately, nothing exciting and quite boring I'd say - so now, I'm going to try and get in some replies while I have the chance. I can't go back to next week, just hoping to catch up from yesterday's posts...

ZANNE, that's good that you are buddying up with someone, it's good for the days that you just don't feel like it to have that added "push" of someone depending on you to do it with them. I sometimes wish that I had that when it comes to walking. Mid 90's up there? It's not even that down here! I'm hoping, if we do go to Montreal in August it won't be so bad - they don't have a/c up there!

JACKK, I do the same many times, just eat to be eating. With being sick I haven't had any appetite to talk about but I've pushed myself to eat only because I know I have to have something, otherwise I'd probably not each much of anything. My DM keeps telling me to "take something" for this cold but I haven't and the reason for not doing so, I like not having the appetitie right now and I want to take full advantage of it! Bad side is that I'm so tired that I have no energy to even walk for exercise-wonder which is worse:chin: Sorry I wasn't able to talk to you either the other day - will try you again. When I'm in the car I tend to call people, I'm sure I'll catch you one day;) Good job on the walking today-wish I could say the same!

TALITHA, if you were to join the gym could you find the time to go? If so, I'd say to see if they would work with you on a payment plan. That's so cheap and if they will, that would probably be easier for you to handle. Wish I could find a deal like that down here! You should not THINK that you will have a problme with overdoing it as you think, you've come a long way since then, things have changed and you should at least try and see if you can do something on an even keel. I know what you've been through, I've been through a lot too, but we aren't the people we were way back then and we have to know that we have learned something through the years. You CAN do it, if you believe you can! If you take the attitude that it's in your mind that you can't, you never will. I've never heard anyone being allergic to caffeine! What does it do to you if you have some? I actually prefer to journal on paper, in a stenographers notebook, with the line down the middle. I put what and how much I eat on the left and then the nutritional info on the right. You may want to try doing it that way. I keep it in the kitchen and it's handy to jot it all down right then and there.

LADY http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign1.jpg I'm sure by now the gals on the board have answered your question about the wine, red is legal-though I've never had anyone ask about chapagne, though I do doubt there are zero carbs in it, 0 fat is more like it. If you've already lost 2lbs in 2 weeks, you shouldn't say ONLY, you should be VERY happy. If you have only 7lbs to lose, 2lbs is 1/3 or if you have 7 more to lose you've lost over 20% of your weight already. What you have to understand is that when you get to only having to lose a few, it takes a while. If you have it in your mind that you can lose 10lbs in 30 days like they say on TV, forget THAT, we know that's a bunch of bull. Just be patient and you'll lose the weight and in the interm, be healthier in doing so by eating better. It took me from Feb to June to lose my last 10lbs, so again, be patient:)

JENN, looking forward to hearing about your Dr. appt today and hoping all the news you get is good! I think with the eating, knowing that you are pregnant and wanting to eat the best not only for yourself but for your baby should be what you are thinking about. Just think, if you stick with SB throughout your pregnancy after the baby is born, you'll weigh less than when you got pregnant!

OLDME, they have sweet potato chips at your OUTBACK? WOW! Our only has regular sweet potatoes. My DS went to see NEMO too and liked it. Good job at staying legal at McD's, not that I think there's anything there other than the ice cream good to eat;) Oops, then again, the next day you went there.... You may want to be careful with those sweet potatoe chips. I got a rude awakening when I figured out what I was eating of the bagged ones and won't buy them anymore. If you actually weighed out a serving it was a miniscule amount and didn't do anything for me and boy, was it not only fattening, but the carbs are a lot. I hate bursting bubbles, but better that you should be aware. As for veggies in the salad, good job! Here's a little hint, try cutting up veggies really small and using them like that, you're less likely to notice them, much less taste the impact. Imagine a tiny piece of broccoli vs a large floret.

BLOVIATER http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you've decided to join us. Feel free to ask any and all questions, we'll be happy to help. Let us know a little about yourself when you get a chance:)

FILLISE, it was hard for me to pick from my own polling question, now that I think of it, I should of made where you could pick more than one! I chose stomach, but I really would a whole body overhaul! Hope we both get over our colds, and soon! Though, I have to admit, I like not having the appetite-wonder if I can keep that part of being sick;)

LAW, glad to see you are back on track. If you can do that after a planned cheat, you are very lucky and you will be able to enjoy yourself and allow yourself planned cheats, and even those unexpected times you find yourself in a situation that you want to cheat. Unfortunately, for people like me, I haven't been able to master that technique as of yet:(

COUNTRY, HB to DD!:hb: How are you planning to celebrate her SWEET SIXTEEN? Ummm, when you get the answer to your question why do you want to sabatoge yourself? would you let the rest of us in on it??? Glad to see the 15 minutes helped you!!!

HEART, I think we all know how hard it is to fall and get back up, harder for some than others, but you'll do it. I think you need to see what's triggering you like this. Try this weeks challenge of waiting 15 minutes, see if that helps any.

PANCHO, that's so great that people are noticing your weight loss!!! That SHOULD make you feel great! What kind of rest. is RED ROBIN? You went to TJ'S?????? You are so lucky!!!!

MONET, if you are going to MARCO, you should plan to come over to MIAMI-we are about 1 1/2 hours away from there, really a straight shot almost to my house on US 41. When are you coming down? What are you going to be doing in Marco-I guess relaxing because there's nothing else to do there! Going to see BOB in Sarasota?

FRUIT, so good to see you back girlfriend, we always miss you during your little hiatuses! You come, you go, you come, you go, but you always come back and that's what makes US feel special;)

DARAMUS, WHOA! Look what the cat dragged in! Boy, I really gave up on seeing you again, but happy to see you back AND with a wife and a baby on the way! Boy, let a guy go away for a few months and look what happens! I'm sure you and your wife will do great together on SB! We'll be happy to welcome her with open arms when she comes on the board to join us. Of course, we'll give her the best recipes to cook for you as well;) CONGRATS 2X OVER!!!!!:D

Have to make a quick exit, still have to make LAUREN'S lunch and wake her up to go. Will try to check in later on.

TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST-I'm going to try and make it - anyone else planning on being in the chat room?

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW FOR WIW!!!!!!

Good Morning all!

Hope everyone is doing well! So okay here goes, dinner went as planned chicken, green beans and sweet potato. Although later that night I did decide to have a blue bunny ice cream bar (sugar free) which is not that bad might I add. Well it was my first time having one, so I figured, what the heck. I will not make this a habit though. So this morning, I am back to 2 eggs since yesterday before lunch I was starving. But I feel great. I worked out last night around 9:00 while watching the Food Network. Love that channel. So it was after my ice cream episode. Today, I will hit that salad bar again, unless someone asks me to eat with them for lunch (which I doubt) Only me and bossman here! I normally eat with some of the ladies in the building but that is a planned lunch.

Fruitloupe: I go to this wonderful doctor here on the Northshore. Dr. Sherman. Just wonderful! He is kinda old, and very old fashioned. He sits you in his office for every visit just to talk. and when I was having my D&C he held my hand and I even saw tears in his eyes. He is very supportive and he said I reminded him of his daugher. She had 4 miscarriages in a row. He told me that she kept having them due to her not waiting the proper time for her body to heal. She finally listened to his advice and it worked. So, I am praying that God would give me strengh to overcome and have victory! I can only imagine how I will feel on my first ultrasound visit. In fact, I have an appointment with him Thursday. I think this will be the appointment where he releases me to try again!

Tahitha: Well thank God you have over came your situation. Isn't is awesome how God places people in our path. My husband drives me insane sometimes, but I cannot ask for a better man. He is supportive in every way. We met in church, believe it or not he is the reason why I serve the Lord today. He was in bible college and I was just coming out of the night clubs (with the boob job girl) I had an aweful night out, I will never forget, it was Mother's day, I was just falling apart. Then my friend asked me to go to church that I attended as a child and I always turned her down. But this time, I went. I went and bought me an appriopriate dress (I thought that I needed one) It was the best day of my life. I felt God for the first time touch me in a way I could not explain. I felt cleansed in all I was doing. Just the night before I was with people whom I barely knew, out in the clubs, when I woke I in a place I did not know, frankly I think I was assulted but cannot prove anything. But the moment I began to sing, it was clear to me, and then I met my prince, who guided me through this Christian walk. I have never turned back! Now my husband and I counsel teens on these very same issues. So this girl that I am standing in her wedding, knows well about my past and sees my changes by the life I live. :cb:

Debelli: Yes, Outback does make sweet potato chips, but they are not chips that is just what they are called. They are not on the menu, but you can ask for them. I never eat the ones out of the bags. The ones at Outback are just cut sweet potatos fried, just like the regular french fries. and the grilled shrimp are just to die for! But, Like I said the only way I eat sweet potatos are if they are the actual potato, not a chip. As for the veggies in the salad, that is exactly what I do chop, chop, and it helps, I will have one today perhaps I will attempt to add another veggie. I am outta control here :spin:

Well I think this is long enough, sorry gals, I vented a bit! Don't know what came over me

Sorry I missed yesterday, y'all. I had to take my car in to get checked out because of some problems. It ended up having some major leaks in some seals, problems with the cylinders that make the clutch work, etc. etc. In all, it will be about $1700. Yikes. It's in the shop today, and I am stuck at home s/o a car. It's a ton of money, but a lot less than a new car would cost.

I have been doing OK with the food. A little slip up on Sunday night when we went to a small group get-together. Some of the women who are on Weight Watchers feel compelled to bring no-nos even though they are not supposed to eat them. There was chicken pot pie (from Costco), strawberry rhubarb pie (also from costco), chocolate cake, devilled eggs, fried chicken, baked beans, marinated tomatoes and cucumbers, some fresh watermelon and cantelope, and my contribution, stewed beef with its juices served in a big platter of caramelized vidalia onions.

My knee has been acting up and it reminds me of the pain I had years ago when I finally had to have arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn cartilege. So I have not been walking and am hoping that it is just "nothing" and will go away if I give it some rest.

Debbie--Hope you are feeling better.

Talitha--Another way to think about the gym thing is to realize that strong muscles promote good health. So many women go to the gym to become a "babe." They go in their spiffy little leotard and want to get thinner that they already are. My friend calls them "skinny bit*hes." I'm certainly not one of them--far from it. But I do know that if I at least keep my muscles strong, I will help my bones, remain more flexible, be able to do more, etc. So, maybe you could accomplish the same thing at home by doing a little bit of resistance training. Just for your better health. You might find some good resources on-line. I certainly back your decision to stay away from the gym if it will cause you to "stumble" spiritually and mentally.

I'm now all enrolled in a French class starting the end of Aug. at U.C.F. So I'm reviewing my last years book so I can be up to par when the class begins.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone (can't say Hi Ladies anymore, now that Daramus is back! :D )

My appt. isn't until 3:30 CST today, so I still have 6 hours to wait. What was I thinking to make the appt. in the afternoon??? Thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers. I am nervous, anxious, but trying to remain calm. :dizzy:

We’re supposed to go to a baseball game tonight, if it doesn’t rain. It should be fun, and I’m going to eat beforehand so I don’t overdo it with bleacher snacks. I figure I’ll probably have something, but damage control is a good thing, right? ;)

Bloviator – welcome! I like the WATP tapes, too. They’re a lot of fun!

Adrienne – Two little heartbeats! Wow! That’s what my DH is hoping for, he wants twins in the worst way. I told him HE wasn’t the one that had to carry them. I’ll be so thrilled to have a good, strong little heartbeat.

Crystle – Happy Birthday to your DD, and that’s great news about your DM. The waiting 15 helps me too, along with drinking some water in case I’m thirsty instead of hungry/munchy.

Laurie – Good luck staying OP! Baby steps.

Tonya – that salad bar sounds good. Now I’m craving spinach. Oh, and those sweet potato chips sound heavenly. Gee, I need to stop reading when people post food items!!!

Pancho – how lucky that you have a Trader Joes near you! I really wish we had one here in MN!

Fruit – welcome back! I’m just over 8 weeks along, so still very early. Thanks for the offer of help if I have questions. It’s very much appreciated! The float theme sounds neat. Do you have a picture?

Talitha – Thank you for sharing your story. You have come a long way. :grouphug:

Daramus – welcome back! Congrats on the marriage and the little one on the way!

Jack-K – Whoohoo for the good eating yesterday! I know how hard it is to get back on track. One day at a time!

Debbie – I hope your DM gets sprung today. Being in the hospital is no fun. I’m sorry you’re still feeling sick, especially with the weather you have down there. Ugh! I can only imagine how high your grass is after several weeks. DH has to mow ours at least twice a week or it’s a jungle! Can you rent a high-powered mower for a day to get it trimmed down? Oh, and the fruit – that sounds VERY strange. I’ve never heard of it!

Gator – The beef and onions sound wonderful. Is that a recipe from here?

ttfn,

Jenn

When we go out and I want a drink I have either a diet 7-up or diet ginger-ale with Segrums 7 or a vodka Madras
Ingredients

1 1/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz cranberry juice
3/4 oz orange juice
slice of lime
the fact that you have so little to lose makes it a lot slower for you to lose it. 2 pounds is great!

wanttheoldme
I think you did great! Of all the junk you could have eaten a couple of breaded chicken nuggets is not terrible.

bloviater
Welcome to SB! I think your goal is pretty fair. I lost 32 ponds since last July but only started excising 3 months ago so the Walk away the pounds is really going to help you a lot.

amhlawyer
That's what keeps me from falling off the SB wagon that awful sick feeling when I eat bad foods.

Talitha
It sounds like you have a great handle on yourself. From what you said going to the gym would not be in your best interests.

Daramus
Welcome back!

Morning all!

I need to ask if anyone is getting email solicitations about weight loss products? I'm getting them all the time (they are getting through my spam blocker). I'm wondering if they are coming from an email list generated off this board? I'm very unhappy dealing with this spam, especially as they have no opt-out policy. Deb--do you know anything about this?

Yesterday was good eating wise. So far so good this morning. I have some bread baking and will have a tuna fish sandwich on fresh bread for lunch. I've been eating a lot of fresh fruit--cannot wait for the local peaches to come in!

Cherylco--that vodke madras sounds yummy! I drink a vodka and diet tonic (if available), but most bars don't carry diet tonic water so I stick with red wine when out.

JenninMN--I'll be thinking about you this afternoon! I hope everything goes well for you and you will have good news to report! :)

Gator--of all the no-nos from your gathering, the one that would be hardest for me to resist would be the fresh watermelon. I have to confess that I can't let the summer go by without a taste of watermelon every now and then.

Wanttheoldme--Sounds like you are listening carefully to your Dr. I hope he releases you this week and you can start trying again!

Missy--Good to see you back! I'm sorry you are having such a rough time with the pregnancies--hopefully this new Dr. will help you get to the bottom of things. I can only imagine hoe frustrating and heartbreaking this has been for you. I know you will have fun with the LSU float--although they are the wrong tigers!

Deb--Yeah the no appetite part was the only thing I liked too! Today is the first day my nose hasn't been running--so it's been two full weeks. I know you didn't want to hear that, but there you are. Those miracle fruit sound wierd. I wonder what the GI is on them? I actually love to eat lemons (I don't do it because they are do bad for your teeth). When I was little and had a cold my mom would dip lemon slices in sugar and give it to me to cut the phlem in my throat. Whenever I have a cold I want my lemon slices (and yeah--I did have a couple when my cold was at its worst).

Jackie--Good for you getting that walk in--don't worry the effort WILL show!

Darmius--Nice to see you back! You've been busy while you were away! It's good that you and the new Mrs. are getting ready to adopt a healthy lifestyle for your new little one! Do you know whether it is a boy or a girl?

Monet--What a nasty boss!!!!! Tell her she better treat you nice, or the eye-talian lady will have to pay her a visit--if you know what I mean.:s: I'm all for more days off! I'm baking bread now and it looks like I have enough flour for about two loaves, which will get me through till I leave. So when I return, I'll definately need a trip for flour. I could stop by on the way home, if I can let Belle stay at your house while we shop. She has a carrier, but there is no way she can stay in the car for any length of time. When I travel with her I only make quick gas/bathroom stops so she is not int he car for more than 5 minutes without the air on.

Talitha--I'm sorry you've had such a rough time with the weight. Boys can be positively evil to teenage girls, though I think the girls are worse with each other. But, as you know with your hubby, many men love their wives for who they are--and it is who they are that makes them beautiful at any weight. It sounds like you have a gem. Now if you can just love yourself for who you are!

Pancho--It's a great feeling when you get those compliments on your weight loss!

Heart--I think you need to skip weekends! Weekends seem to be the worst time for you--what is different about Saturday and Sunday for you?

Country--Glad to hear that your DM is home!

Time to get to work.

Have a great OP day everyone!

Susan

Hey All:wave:

Just forced myself to eat something. Only had some raspberries this morning, and though I'm not hungry, I made myself eat a potpie.

After I dropped LAUREN off at theatre camp I ran in and out of stores returning items that needed to be returned with a side trip to the PO. I have a ton of rebates that have to go out today.

I know what I forgot to mention, not that I'm proud ofit! When I was coming out from seeing my DM at the hospital, pulling out of the spot, there was one of those heavy duty poles at waist level that I just didn't see, was in my blind spot and boom, you got it, hit it. Not only did I dent/scratch my car up in the rear real nice, but my rear tail light is now busted! Gosh, you think they'd at least put a rubber bumper around something like that!!! Now I have to find a replacement for the light. I think when I wash the car the dent won't looks AS bad as it does now, that my car is filthy (it's white).

HELP! Speaking of driving...my kids are wanting to get their restricted! I'm not so worried about LAUREN driving, but MICHAEL is another story!!!! His brains are busy elsewhere and I'm afraid to even teach him. They have an appt next week to take their tests:fr: On the good side, MICHAEL won't get his regular DL until right before he leaves for college and he won't be driving there, so I really won't have to worry about that all that much.

FRUIT, you are too funny! I'm waiting for the lunch time report!!!!

OLDME, they definitely don't offer anything at our OUTBACK other than the usual looking sweet potato, which is fine with me anyhow, as I only eat a little if I eat it at all. When I realized that approx 3oz is a serving counted as a starchy carb I decided it just wasn't worth it. Did you see OPRAH yesterday? She had a guy on who made a sweet potato brulee that she was dying over. I'm going to see if I can find the recipe on her website and see if it can be modified. Try unusual veggies if you can find them in your area. I love trying new fruits and veggies whenever I can - it's the meats and mystery items I won't go near!!

GATOR, I feel for you with the car, besides what I posted above, I just had to have new tie rods AND my brake seal was leaking and I had no brakes about a week ago-that was $199 just then, month before, new brakes! It's always something. I have to get a major tune-up before I take the kids to go on this college hoping joy ride!

JENN, those sound "to die for!!!" Where did that recipe come from? Please make sure you post it on the recipe board when you get a chance so we can keep it forever! Yes, what WERE you thinking about making a afternoon appt? Live and learn!! We'll be waiting to hear from ya!

FILLISE, hmmmm, I do get them but not sure where they come from, but I always seem to get one here and there, so really, I'm not sure. Maybe we should both save a few over the next few days and see if we both are getting the same stuff? I never open them, but we can jot down the subject matter, or the main part of the e-mail name. LMK. The GI of the fruit, no ideas but honestly, if I had to scrape off what was on a pit, it would be probably 1/8 of a teaspoon, if that! It's tiny!!!! Have you ever thought about candying a lemon with agave??????

Well, I'm outta here. Going to go lounge on the couch with my snot rag at hand:eek: Have a few movies so I think I'll stick one of them on and watch it.

REMEMBER, CHAT TONIGHT AT 9:15PM EST!!!

Have a minute before I go to lunch and thought I would check in.

I have the best salad dressing that I found in Cooking Light. I adapted it to be legal: Something different.

3 T lite mayo
3 T splenda
2 T low fat milk
1 T white wine vinegar
1 T poppy seeds.

Blend with whisk.

Pour over lettuce. The salad called for greens, purple onions, almonds, and strawberries. Of course you can adapt how you want. I love the strawberries in it though.

Deb, first of all, you shouldn't be cutting grass if you are sick. Second, isn't Michael old enough to cut grass? That's why we have these kids. Make them work. Are you taking anything? Try some nyquil so you can get some rest. Hope your Dm gets home soon. This has lingered quite a long time. That was bizzare about that obit. Funny how fate works. Where can you get this miracle fruit? Sounds strange. Let the kids get their permits. After the initial worrying and stress of teaching them, it will be worth it. Maybe look into driver's ed for them. Ouch! those poles are always where they shouldn't be. I alsmot hit one the other day too. I even had made a mental note (I do mean mental) when I went in. Forgot all about it when I backed out. Stopped just in the nick of time.

Fruit, Yeah for breakfast. Hope lunch was just a good.

Tonya, what a touching story. God works in mysterious ways.

Gator, that beef and onins sounds delish. I just love carmelized onions. Give that knee some rest. Do you have any anti-inflamatories to take? Man that's a lot of car repairs. They seem to add up quickly.

Jenn, good luck today. Thanks for the recipe. I am sending it to DD as she loves stuffed mushrooms. Get some peanuts in the shell at the ballgame. At least you will have to work to get them and not to bad for you.

Cherylco, I love Madras'. Except after too many  all that juice gets to me. Now I'm on a kick of diet lemonade and vodka. Yummy. Gonna do without this week though.

Susan, yes I am getting thos weight loss pop-ups too. Very frustrating. Your bread smells devine. I tried making my own bread and it was just to dense. Maybe I should try some of Monet's flour if I can find it.

Oh Deb, I wanted a snack today (legal) so I waited 15 minutes, then 15 more. Started getting shakey so I had some soy nuts. Later wanted something else. Made myself wait 30 minutes. Still wanted it so I ate a piece of cheese. I got in 100 oz of water yesterday and 34 so far today.

Later,

Jackie

Beef and Onions:
3 LARGE vidalia or other sweet onion, peeled and sliced thin
1 beef rump roast (mine was almost 3 lbs.)
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and cut into chunks
If desired, 1 carrot, peeled and cut into 3/4" slices
about 1 qt. non-fat beef broth (I used Swansons)

Brown the beef in a little olive oil in a pressure cooker (lid off). When brown all over, add the yellow onion and carrot and beef broth to almost cover the meat. Put the lid on the pressure cooker, add the weight and cook on high until the weight begins to jiggle. Turn down the heat a little so that the weight has a rhythmic, medium jiggle (not frantic) and cook for 50 minutes. Take off heat and leave lid on until all the pressure has left the pot.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté the onions over medium low heat, turning often, for about 35 minutes, until the onions have slowly turned a light golden brown and are very tender. Do not brown quickly. Salt to taste.

Salt the beef "stew" to taste and let the meat "rest" a bit. Then slice the beef or shred it, and add it, any of the carrot and yellow onion and as much of the liquid as you want to the sautéed onions. You can add additional water if you want, for more "gravy." Adjust the seasonings. Enjoy!

This is very good. My husband loved it and it is great left over. I just made up the recipe because I love onions.

Does anyone use Splenda? I just discovered it for my strawberries, which I hardly use any, but I read something on the internet, I know you cannot always believe what you read. Just wondering. The internet said it causes:

Extension of the pregnancy period
Aborted pregnancy
Decreased fetal body weights and placental weights

I do not intend to use alot, ( I am talking about a 1/2 a packet here) but it does help with my fruit I need to eat. Just wondering! :?:

Anyway, I am about to leave work in exactly 50 minutes and I am bored. I guess I shall submit by food log for the day.

AM: 2 eggs, 1 slice SF toast and 2% milk
Lunch: Salad, lettuce all kinds, purple cabbage, broccoli, cheese, chicken, egg, bit of bacon and sunflower seeds and blue cheese
dressing.
Snack: 1 cup of sliced strawberries with 1/2 packet of splenda
Dinner: Planned either tuna fish salad and 3 tristcuits or skinless chicken and beans, depending on how I feel after youth service tonight. I will try to get my exercise when I get home. Also depends on what time I get out!
and water, water, water

I have had about 60 oz so far...

Okay gals, I out!

Solly

Heading home for the day.

Water so far is 68 oz.
Dinner is burgers, beans, slaw, peaches & cottage cheese.

Will walk as soon as I get home.

Good luck to everyone on WIW. I'm not looking forward to it.

Tonya, I use splenda. Not a lot, just here and there. Can't comment on the internet findings, but I would thinkit would take a heck of a lot over long periods of time. I beleive all natural pb is sugar free. SMuckers makes one that you can get at regular stores and health food stores carry just plain pb. Never bought the legal chocolate. If I wanted choc, I bought the Russell Stovers sf candy.

Hope to be at chat if computer is working. DD called and said it won't come on.

HEY ALL,

Sorry I haven't been on here much, a friend of mine went home from work on Thursday and found her husband dead in the bathroom floor....56 yrs old! SUCH A WASTE!!! I've been busy with the situation and my mind has hardly been on work let alone the board. It's been such a sad occurence...they were so close. Except for his going to Vietnam, they have not been apart for 35 yrs! Right now she's got her family with her, but they will have to go home at some point, and I'm really going to worry about her being by herself. Not that I think she would do something to herself, but her state of mind is beyond anything close to normal.
SO...please forgive me for being absent...

After a morning of bookkeeping, I went shopping this afternoon for my youngest niece's birthday present. Found her a cute tropical shirt and skort outfit. Also a beanie baby with her birth date (there has never been one on her birthdate until now--a fact which she has taken personally!)

Now I'm back home. I have a dinner meeting tonight. It's at a Catfish restaurant, so it shouldn't be too bad.

BOB and Deb--I'm on an anti-spam crusade. I will not rest until I rid my mailbox of ALL spam!!!! I try to click on links every now and then to help support the site, but I draw the line at (1) ads that block what I'm trying to read, and (2) spam in my personal mailbox. The Earthlink spamblocker does pretty well for most stuff. Only once in a blue moom does some of the porn stuff kick in, but these weight loss ads are in my mailbox almost every day. They are forwarding to a specific list, not just generatine possible userids at earthlink or aol. So they have to be getting their list from somewhere. I would pay a small subscription fee in order not to have my information sold. If it is simply being hijacked from the website, then we need better security.

oops--hit send before I meant too!

Just a quick check in...

DM will be out of the hospital on Thursday - she's asking me to smuggle her in some ice cream - I won't be a conspirator. She's on a low fat/low sodium diet in there and she's not liking it all that much:rolleyes:

JACKK, honestly, I wouldn't mind cutting the grass if is hadn't been so high, I wasn't so sick and it wasn't so hot! Umm, my son, do anything around the hous:nono: He's one of THOSE Jewish men! Are you joking, my son cut the grass, he almost had a cow when I asked him to start the mower up for me!!! The only thing I'm taking is a good seat up on the couch, nothing else. Nyquil would REALLY put me out I think, I'm tired enough. I'm sure it will pass soon, or at least I hope. Have NO clue where one would get the miracle fruit, it's actually a plant from somewhere in Africa. Here's what one website says about it:

Fruit: The fruit is a small bright red, ellipsoid berry approximately 2 to 3_cm long and containing a single seed. Although not sweet itself, when a single fruit is eaten and the fleshy pulp allowed to coat the taste buds of the tongue and inside of the mouth, an extraordinary effect occurs. The fruit will now allow one to eat a slice of lemon or lime without wincing. The marvelous aroma and inherent sweetness of the citrus remains but the sourness is almost completely covered. The effect remains for some 30_minutes or more. http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/miraclefruit.html

Interesting, huh? Seems you did better with your pole than I did. As for the snacks, I was really thinking on the terms of off plan foods, but it can work out to advantages with not over snacking, I guess;)

GATOR, that looks like a recipe that even I could make and not screw up, but then again...

OLDME, I don't use Splenda due to the maltodextrin in it and what it does to me when I have too much. I haven't heard about those findings, but then again, I haven't really paid attention to things doing with Splenda-do some more investigating. I find, sometimes, these big sugar companies put crap out about stuff, like they have about Stevia, to make people go back to sugar, or so they wish/hope! SF PB should be easy to find, any natural pb should be okay, just read the ingredients. I sometimes make my own, just throw a jar of unsalted dry roasted peanuts in my food processor and let it whirl...as for the chocolate, any chocolate with a cocoa content of 60% or more is okay, a 1/2 ounce serving. The higher the cocoa content the better (less sugar). LINDT has a 85%. Just be careful if this is a trigger food for you! The label will state the content, if it doesn't, don't buy it, you can't assume it's okay. Can't really comment on your intake as I don't remember/know how many calories you should be eating, but do watch your fiber and calcium intake, I don't see much of either one in there:)

BOB, sorry to hear about your friends DH, how did he pass? Sad:( I keep hearing about how bad the waters are in Sarasota-thought maybe you were floating down stream. Was going to check the ocean for your arrival;) What? I like big penis and balls!!! Sign me up, umm, second though, sign ELI up!!!!

FILLISE, they now have a spam block on AOL but these SPAMMERS keep changing their e-mail addresses so the ones you block are no biggie. You can block the domain but many come from earthlink and yahoo and those are so popular if I block them I wouldn't get a lot of good e-mails. I saw something the other day on TV about spam cops but didn't catch the whole thing, but their trying to make it harder. I'll keep and eye out better now and see if I can come to any conclusions.
Okay, time to make dinner:lol:

Later!

Hello everyone--- Had alot of company visiting the last few days. My sister and her husband are here from Boise, and then an Aunt from New Mexico, and one from Utah is here for a week. Friday, my best friend and her husband came out too. So we have been having a wonderful time, inspite of the weather. Cold, rainy and windy. Hoping the next few days are better. We are all planning on going to watch my son ride on Friday night. My Aunt Vi, from New Mexico is the one who sponsored him when they had their business, and got him his protective vest. She has never been able to catch one of his rodeo's. She is really looking forward to this. Then she has to catch a plane early Saturday morning for home.

My best friend Carie is getting all her western stuff gathered up so she can wear it. She is so funny!! She is trying to talk me into wearing some of her frilly western clothes, but I told her Brant wouldn't claim me as his mother if I got all duded up!!

TOM arrived Sunday morning, and I am having alot of cramping for some reason. Just feel really bloated, and fat!! Probably will stay off the scales this week, but will see how I feel tomorrow morning. Haven't felt this bloated for quite awhile.

Will get in a few replies here, going to be pretty busy this week and the beginning of next. We are leaving on the 2nd to go to ND for a week. Dh's sister and her husband are in Marmouth, ND. They have one of the oldest standing rodeos on the 4th, so we are planning on attending it.

Jack-k--With all the walking, not to mention the trips to the potty, something should have moved!! lol. Oh my gosh, that dressing sounds so good!!

Deb-- Sure hope you will be feeling better soon. We have missed you!! Sounds like you need to find someone with a swather to mow down that hay field haha!! I love mowing our yard. But I do it once a week. And we have a very big yard. It takes 1 1/2 hours to mow.

Fruit-- WAY TO GO!! What's for lunch??

Want--The sweet potato chips sound delish.... I will have to try some here at home. But 3 oz sure wont make much, will it?? I too am looking for some of the legal chocolate. Does anyone have some brand names??

Gator-- Your dish sounds good. How do you caramelize the onions?? Have fun with your French class. Oopps, I see you have added the recipe here. Thank you!!

Jenn- Those mushrooms sound yummy! Do you remove from heat before you add the cheeses? Good luck on your Dr appointment today. I will be thinking of you.

Fillise-- I seem to be getting a few too. I don't like them either. But I have been told just to delete them, as if you go in and unsubscribe, then they know they have a live address. But I don't know anything about it so which is the best do you think??

BOB--ROFLMAO!! On another note, my condolences to your friend. It just goes to show, that you never know.... 56 is way too young!! Sounds like she has quite a friend in you. She may need that as soon as all the family leaves. My prayers to her and the family.

Well, I thought yesterday I was feeling bad due to the weekend's sugar episode- As the day progressed, I felt worse and worse then started running temp, body aches, headache, and now I have all of the above but infected tonsils to boot. I feel like crap. Had a crappy time staying asleep last night. I was freezing and then I would be hot. So I guess I got some sort of virus. Just hope I get to feeling better tomorrow. My house is a wreck and I haven't had the energy to do ANYTHING. Okay, I'm thru complaining.

Daramus- Welcome back and when I was pregnant with Boogie, my hubby gained 30 pounds!

Fillese- Weekends--- it's when I'm around other people eating what they like,etc... But of course, they stay skinny and I pile on the pounds. BTW- I haven't received any solicitations.

Talitha- if you know the gym will trigger you into some obsessive mode- then stay away from it! Besides, there's stuff you can do at home to get into shape. I personally won't go to a gym because it makes me feel so bad about myself when I'm standing next to some tan blonde weighing 110 pounds and fake boobies.

Well, I need to go- the kids are being their worst!

Hey Everyone!

No time to post to everyone tonight - have some school work that I have started but I'll try to be better tomorrow!!!!

Morning, and I do mean morning!

Woke up at 3:30am to find ELI not in bed. My blood pressure always rises when he pulls this crap. I get worried and think that possibly there's something wrong. Thankfully, he's in the kitchen watching TV, good to know he's actually at home, but now, I can't go back to sleep and I'm pissed! I hate it!

I'm feeling better as well. Knew I was starting to feel better when all of a sudden I was hungry and as I kept eating, nothing was filling me up. Not sure if it's from feeling better, or so I think, or the fact that TOM was about to show, which it did right before I went to sleep. At this moment, at dark-o-thirty, my nose is not stuffed, so I'm going by that. Let's see how the day progresses!

TEENSY, what's a swather? Sounds like your family is scattered all over the US! Sounds like you had a good time visiting with them this past weekend. Good luck to DS on Friday night. You should post a pic of him riding one day!!!!

HEART, hope you feel better soon, I know it sucks to feel icky! Don't worry, my house is a wreck too!!!

FRUIT, keep up the good work, on the eating and the posting;)

Just thought I'd come on for a moment and vent. Guess I'll just go back in bed and lie there....

Later

Nose is starting back up-that was short lived!

Forgot to ask-did anyone finally go to the chat room last night?

BTW, GOOD LUCK WITH WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY TODAY!!!!

Good Morning!

It feels so nice to be able to tumble out of bed, and get on here first thing, like I am used to doing. Today is my day off. I slept really late! I got out of bed at about 7:15! ;)

I got on the scale this morning, and I am the same as last week, but that will change. I always drop a pound or two after I get up, due to water retention that accumulates overnight. I will weigh again in an hour or two and see how it looks.

Laura has gotten me all addicted to her Gamecube game she got for her birthday. It is a really fun game, and yesterday, I let her take my car and go visit some friends just to get her out of the house and off the Gamecube so I could play! Hopefully, I can get over it fast. I have too much to do to spend time playing video games! :(

I tried reading all the posts, and I ended up skimming a lot. I sure hope I did not miss anything important!

DEB: I am sorry you are not feeling well, and having trouble sleeping. What was Eli doing up in the middle of the night? He could not sleep? How is your mom doing? Tell her hello from me.

FRUIT: Hello! Good to see you back! You did pretty good yesterday, at that Mexican restaurant. I always have trouble with the chips. When I go with my husband, we make them take the chips away so we are not tempted.

HEART: Feel better soon! I hate having throat infections! I hope that is all it is. If you don't feel better soon, see the doctor! That is how my Mono started out!

TEENSY: You really should get all duded up for the rodeo! You need a hat, and boots, and all that! Have fun! I hope your son rides really well! Such a treat for your Aunt to be able to see him ride finally!

FILLISE: If you are on an anti-spam campaign, you NEED Mailwasher. You can find it at Mailwasher.net. I registered my copy for like $5. It previews your mail for you, and you can delete and bounce mail before it hits your computer. This makes it look to spammers like a dead address. I get NO spam now. Check it out. Miss Belle can stay here, if you want to come by on your way home. We could even put her in 'your' room with the door closed, and she would have a bit of freedom. We will just make sure that Tiger is outside. No prob! He has been staying out almost all the time now anyway. He doesn't like air conditioning! (weird cat!)

BOB: I am so sorry about your friend's husband. What a shock for her! Its good she has you as a friend, and you are thinking about how she is going to need your friendship in the near future! That is so thoughtful of you! What a great friend you are!

JACK: I hope your computer is not messed up! I hate having computer problems! When it won't work, I feel so isolated! :)

WANT: I buy natural peanut butter at Publix. Kroger has a natural pb too. Smuckers makes one as well. You have to stir them up, but they are the healthiest kind of pb to get; just peanuts and salt. The trans fats in the other brands are worse for you than sugar. As for chocolate, I buy a number of brands, but all are 70% cocoa solids. Recently, my favorite has been Cote d'or. I have Chocolove, but it is not as good. Lindt makes a 70%, as does Sharffenberger, and El Rey. I have gotten a few other brands at the farmer's markets around here that are good, but I am not sure of the name. Only what the package looks like!

DARAMUS: Welcome back! We had not quite given up hope that our token man was lost forever! Congrats on the new addition expected to your family, and on your marriage! You have been a busy guy, so we will forgive you for being absent so long! Hop right back on the wagon and bring the Mrs. SB is so healthy, it is fine for pregnant women.

TALITHA: Give Selah a big hug and kiss from me. I am still smiling over how she was flirting with that man in the next booth. :) I am always off on the weekends, and right now, I am only working until 11, so afternoons are free. I am hoping to get my schedule changed in the next week or so, and work 6 to 1 or 2, and then have Tuesdays and Thursdays off. This week, my day off is today, and next week, it is Friday. I leave for vacation the next Sunday though. You are welcome to come over whenever you want! Just let me know when to expect you!

I hope I did not miss anyone...if I did, its because my screen will only go back so far, and I don't want to lose my post. I am about to go have some bacon and eggs for breakfast...will hopefully get the chance to check in again later this morning! Have a great day everyone! I hope the metal monster is kind....

Happy WIW

Hope the scale is good to everyone today.

It sure was nasty to me. After spending half the day in the potty I thught sure I would get rid of that weekend wt, but I was wrong. I am not a happy camper and only have myself to blame.

We did get our 3 miles in last night. Boy was it hot. My legs felt like rubber. Later, we walked to a friend's house (another mile) for a drink for his 50th. I was proud, she had chips and dip and pretzels out, and I did not partake of even one. Felt good about it when I got home.

We have bunco tonight and even though I have never had dessert with them in the last year and a half, I am taking sf yogurt with me so I won't be tempted. We usually go out to dinner on Wed with a friend, so I am taking my ww bun with me.

Have a meeting this morning and a gyno appointment this afternoon so I probably won't be back on unless I can squeze in a minute.

BOB, how awful for your friend. I can't even imagine her state of mind. I'm sure you will be there for her after her family leaves. Prayers for her.

Deb, I know the challenge was for off plan foods, but I need to incorporate it into my daily eating too. Right now I'm treating off plan foods as a death sentence. Telling myself, I cannot have anything, it will kill me. Could yur mom have carbolite? Didn't know the fat content of it. Will she have to remain eating that way when she comes out? Glad you are feeling better today. Sorry abut chat. I was plannin on being there. But we went to a friend's house for a drink for his 50th and didn't gt home until 10:30.

Teensy, sounds like you have been busy entertaining, but having lots of fun too. How neat that your aunt will finally get to see the rodeo.

Heartmom, feel better soon.

Fruit, good for you, next time take triscuits in place of the chips.

Monet, boy 7:15 is really late. I find that the older I gt the earlier I get up. I guess I'm turning into my parents. Enjoy your day off.
Congrats to all the losers today, and the rest of us, just try a little harder and we will prevail.

Well the scale was not good to me! I lost a whopping .5! I weighed on Saturday and I was down 1 lbs. Will I ever get off this back and forth stump? What am I doing? Perhaps, I will not eat sweet potatoes for awhile, perhaps that may help. I mean geezzz I barely eat them now, maybe 2 times a week at that! I feel so discouraged. As least last week I blamed it on Aunt Flo, poor thing its not even her fault. Well I was going to try to make a cheesecake from one of those recipes posted here for our church gathering, but not anymore. I may eat some. I will just make something I don't like. Okay, I have been told that the weight will just start coming off, and when is this? I lost like 6 lbs on Atkins the first 2 weeks. Makes me want to go back. But can I withstand my eggs with no toast and milk? Confession time: I was tempted to go get me a bagel and cream cheese with a granita with morning, but I talked myself out of it. what is wrong???!!! :stress: so right now I am at 161! I lost better on weight watchers too. But I was hungry...

Okay done venting.....

Bob: Sorry to hear about your friend. Man, that's a hard situation.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Hey, Hey, Ladies! Happy WIW! The scales have been very kind to me this week - I'm at 185.5!!!! That's down 2.5 lbs from last week's WIW!!! So even though I had that little slip on Sunday, it didn't ruin my week! I've been eating SO on plan lately and I've been taking Deb's challenge to heart and I've been drinking in the 100 ounces of water range! I'm literally peeing every 1/2 hour but it sure helps.

My food intake looks like this most days:

Breakfast: shredded wheat w/ puffed Kashi and skim milk with some blueberries and splenda. Water.

snack: grapes & water - sometimes a diet, caffeine-free drink.

Lunch: salad w/ sf dressing, can of light tuna, 4 triscuits & water

snack: peanuts and 4 more triscuits & water

dinner: sf peanut butter with sf jelly on sgww bread and a piece of fruit. Sometimes a scoop of sugar free, lowfat ice cream. Just a little. Maybe another diet drink (non-caffeinated.)

Since my hubby was out of town for 8 days, I got into the habit of eating dinner with the kids - around 6:00 or so. I think a lot of my problems stem from the fact that with him, I eat dinner so late. First off, I'm starving by 8:00 and then I go to bed at 9:00!! How good can that be? So since he's been home, he's been on his own for dinner and I've been sticking to my plan. It's working for me.

I like this so much better than Atkins. I really feel like I'm eating a well-balanced, healthy diet. Fruit, whole grains, low-fat meats... way better to me than bacon, cheese and fried, unbreaded chicken wings!

Well, I'm finally seeing some results. It took a while but I'm really staying focused. I've been spending way too much time lately in my closet trying on clothes I've outgrown. Some fit me already, some will fit me in another 10 lbs... you get the idea. The thought of wearing them again is making me giddy. In the meantime, my regular clothes are actually starting to be too big! Yipee! Sorry for rambling on. For those of you for whom the scale has not been kind... be patient and stay with the program. It seems like I drop in chunks. I'll stay the same weight for 12 days then it'll be a couple pounds gone. I have to remember this during those long stretches. Thanks for all the support here.

Good morning! Britt had a very nice b-day yesterday. Her dad surprised her and we are getting her her own phone line. So I need to call on that in a bit. She was very surprised. I am so puffy this morning. I'll probably weigh in tomorrow. If it's the same as today then I'll count it as for real. My rings are tight so I am sure there is some water retention.

Deb...I am so sorry to hear that you are felling so poorly. Glad your mom is gonna get to come home soon.

Talitha...I hear you loud and clear about the gym. Just this way of eating was a challenge for me after years of battling an eating disorder. There are still time I have to remind myself it's not about being skinny but healthy. I think it's awesome that you realize what your trigger is and stay away from it. It's awesome to know that you have God helping you through. It's the only way I could have gotten this far without reverting back.

Jack-K...I think the scales are having a conspiracy this week. WTG getting in your walking. It's been almost 2 or 3 weeks since I've had any consitant exercise. I think that is gonna be my key to getting these extra pounds back off.

amhlawyer...WTG on your weight loss this week!

wanttheoldme ....hang in there. Sometimes it just takes a while and wooosh several pounds will come off. I'd really watch my starchy carbs and meat portions. If those are in line I bet the weight will start coming off faster.

Monet....7:15 doesn't seem very late....I tried to sleep in this morning and it was only 6:30...I would love to sleep till say 8 or 9...but it aint happenin'.

Heartmom..hope you feel better soon.

Teensy...LOL I can just imagine that western wear. I love western clothes but there are some that are just a bit much. And I KNOW my daughter wouldn't be seen with me.

Susan..sorry you are getting a lot of spam. I wish mine was weight loss related. That nasty stuff that comes in drives me batty. I opened one the other day not knowing what it was and had to cover the screen from 6 year old..ugh.

Bob...I am so sorry for your friends loss. I am praying for her. Especially when her family leaves and she faces those first few days and nights alone.

Well I've sat here way too long. What's new. :) Have a blessed and wonderful day.

Love,
Crystle

Hey everyone. This is jsut a quick note to let you all know that I've missed you. Been so busy this week that I haven't posted at all since monday.. Two days without the board, and I'm going into withdrawl. The bridal shower and bechelorette aprties are this weekend, and I'm working all 3 jobs with family from out of town visiting. AHHHH!!!!

ANyway. I'm eating way toomuch. What happened to my 1 starch a day???? After my WIW this am I'm deffinitely taking that more seriously. I was back up to 182!!!!!! I don't feel discouraged, though because my clothes are looser, and Travis told me yesterday that his guess is that I lost 5 lbs this week. He says he can see it. Could it be a lull in loss to gain muscle? I have been walking every day between 2-4 miles, and doing weights and of course my laps when I'm babysitting. Speaking of which, I'm gonna be late!! I'll try to get on tonight after everyone leaves from small group, and send you all some replied.

PS with beautiful days like these, who needs a gym anyway ??????

Deb- Caffeine makes my lungs contract and my muscles spazm, mostly in my abdomen. It's very painful and scary, but it won't really hurt me. I can have a little but, if I am eating food, but I am afraid of restaurants that claim to have Caf-free diet coke. One time they had the taps switched, and I was in pain, and couldn't breath comfortably till the next day. It's just not worth the risk to me, and I preffer water anyway.

I'm exhausted, peeved & TOM has flowed in! I don't think anyone should be around me today, I'm in RARE FORM! I'm not a nice person when the lack of sleep has crept up on me and this time it's bitten me in the arse! ELI is off today, he hasn't a clue what he's in for! One false move, one false word and he's going to have a foot stuck up his arse!! He'll WISH he was working today!

MONET, you are too funny! Sending LAURA out so you can play her games!! Must be addicting! Thanks, I will say hello to my DM for you:D ELI had gotten home at gosh knows what hour 2:00am maybe? I woke up, stuck out my feeler (leg) and he wasn't there and boom, I was up!!!!!

JACKK, if the scale is nasty to you it would probably kill me! I don't dare get on, I know I'm still up and just getting on it would make me want to kill it! Sure, DM could have Carbolite, but it would never make it in to the hospital:s: Actually, it would melt by the time I got it there, it's soft serve. Have fun at bunco tonight!

HE JUST WALKED IN, BIT HIS FRIGGIN HEAD OFF ALREADY - I'M STARTING EARLY!!! He keeps asking me what I want to do today, like we ever do anything different?!? He asked me yesterday. He always gets the same answer, whatever you want. He tells me, if it wasn't for me, he'd be sleeping, which I thought he would still of been when I got home. Of course, I told him if it hadn't been for him, I would of been sleeping too last night!:s: WARPATH!!!!!!

OLDME, hey, it's a loss, take it and be happy, better than a gain, that's for sure. Are you journaling? If so, you may be able to find the culprit of why you are teetering. When you eat sweet potatoes how much do you eat? Maybe too many starchy carbs?

LAW, CONGRATS on a great loss this week!!!:bravo: Looking at your menu, it doesn't look like you are eating enough, do be careful. You want to make sure what you are losing is fat and not muscle. What about the fiber, the calcium-protein???

COUNTRY, a new phone for DD? I think kids these days have their own cell phones more that their own telephone lines at home. I wish sometimes my kids had their own lines too, they really can talk up a storm!!!!

TALITHA, have fun at the festivities this weekend! You could easily be gaining muscle and losing fat. Listen to TRAVIS, he seems like a smart cookie;)

Okay, I'm outta here and contemplating my next move of attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:s:

Countrymom: Thanks for the tip. But I am not sure that is what it is. I mean I haven't had meat for like 2 weeks. I eat mostly chicken and grilled seafood, and for starchy carbs, I eat about 2-3 a week. Now that does not count, I do have 1 slice of sugar free nature's own a day. But that is about it. I have add more fruit, more veggies in my salads (which I eat daily by the way!!) I have had dessert 1 time in 2 weeks! I started this WOE like June 9th, I am going on 3 weeks here and only lost .5 lbs. ???!! Sorry, I just vented again. I will cut out my starchy carbs to 1 a week and see what happens.

Can anyone tell me what is considered a starchy carb?

OLDME, from a post a while back as well as on the
