Boy, you guys have been "yakky".
Candice, as usual looking young. Hope your plants don't blow away.
Meme - I could send you some sun. We FINALLY got some, and it was 30 today (about 90 above) and the same yesterday. A storm just passed through and cooled the air off, thank goodness. Tomorrow it will be a LOT cooler, thank goodness.
I am busy packing, packing, packing. Seems like lots of stuff. I guess I will be done by Friday as we are moving Saturday morning. I hope my back holds out. Right now I feel like the semi ran amok and ran me over:dizzy:
I plan on vegging out on the couch tonight and doing nothing, except reading my book. Haven't really sat down all day.
Hi Joanne, Ally, Anagram, Mima - Hope you gals are all doing fine. I just NEED to make it until the middle of next week and then I can take a break.
I won't be on my computer for a few days. I hope you all get sunshine and nice warm days. See you all next week. Will be off line from Friday until I get reconnected.

I could use some sun...BAD. Rained here again tonight! Rained so hard we couldn't get out of the car at McDonald's. Took Ross to eat and was nearly late for church. I'm so sick of it.
What's your book about?
Gotta go watch Jungle Book 2 with Ross...just bought it at Wal Mart. I'm hurting sooo bad, maybe it'll take my mind off my aches and pains!

Meme..did you get my sun on the other thread?????????????
Happy enjoy reading:)
My son got back early from his little vacation to lake
Superior..I was looking forward to a few more days without him
If I have the 3 MRI's, low back and both hips we have to pay 1000 out of pocket so DH is trying to talk me out of it..but I have not even seen the doc yet. Seemed alittle easier to bend today but that part is just muscle I know already. I just want to make sure I do not have a problem that my exercising or overdoing willl make much worse. It's probably just the fibro...but this pain feels different?
Gonna be a nice one today..rain yesterday so no walk....we nee d the rain too.
My roses have that ugly black spot I am trying to get under control..it is so hard once it starts..and with my back I let it go for a week and it has taken over
Candice, I bet if you take some time off to rest you will be better-I had that sciatic pain for months and when I corrected tests I got a rest from all the work and now it is gone!!!!WE seem to take longer to heal. Rented a car yesterday and it smells of smoke and I am wheezing-I may bring it back to get another one. Plus it rained all day yesterday and I did eat stuff I shouldn't have . Went to Aunties and we couldn't walk and all she did was feed us. Her son was there too. He is so funny!!I'm going for a walk today-may tackle putting the seat of the swing together. HA!!!I will read the directions 3 times. Meme-we are getting rain every day. Church picnic is Sunday and the forecast is iffy.Anne-take it as easy as you can-moving is so hard,Have a great day everyone. Mima

I am one of those strange people that really likes the rain. I guess I would do well in a rain forest except for the mold ,bugs and crawly creatures. We have been getting a lot of rain this week. We go for weeks though without any.
I go to Tops tonight and I will be lucky to just turtle. It will probably be a gain. Sometimes ,I think I should be thankful to stay as I am. I did pretty good this week with my eating ,but, the scale stays the same. Up and down.
I haven't walked as I should. Need more energy and motivation. Complaining won't help.
Happy- Don't do as I do. Overdo with the move. Although I haven't moved in the last 42 years,I have helped our son move many times. He is planning on selling the house he is in so I guess he will do it again. I am not sure I am up to it again. He will have to put his girlfriend to work. She never makes a bed so he may have a challenge.
Hello Candice ,Ally,Anagram, Mima, Meme.Hope you feel better Meme.

Yes, Candice, I got your sun. Unfortunately I had to leave it on the other thread. It is supposed to be clear for a few days. Let us hope the weather people in Nashville know what they are talking about. The ground is so saturated that when it rains now it just stands...there is no place for it to go. We have major mosquito problems this year, too, so there is concern about the West Nile Virus here. Hubby mowed the lawns a couple of evenings ago and came in for some Avon bug spray. He said he looked down and his arms were covered up with mosquitos. YUCK! I'm so allergic to them. When they bite me I whelk like most people do with a bee sting so we are very careful to keep them out of the house here. We have to keep the dog treated, too because she stays on the front porch most of the time. I hate wet weather.
I have an app. with the Neurologist this afternoon. I'm hoping he will cut me loose. I haven't had a migraine in over 2 months now thanks to the Tomamax!
I've been craving chocolate... Sometimes I think I still have the cravings of "that time of month" even though I no longer have "that time of month" due to a hysterectomy... after all ... I do still have my ovaries so I guess it's possible!
Candice... here's some rain for you!!! :D

Well...he DID cut me loose. I can't believe it! I'm still in shock! Nearly every Dr. I've ever had has kept me coming back every 3 or 4 months...for new prescriptions if for nothing else. When I went up front to pay I asked when I needed to make another app. and they said I didn't unless I started having migraines again or another problem I needed to see him about. They said when I needed my prescriptions refilled just to call them. He told me since I've stopped losing weight that if I wanted to lose some more I could take an extra topamax at night and drink more water and drop another 10 or 12 pounds. He said by taking it before bed at night I probably wouldn't feel any side effects from it. I may try it for a few nights and see what happens.

TIRED OF ALL THIS RAIN?
You have to live in TN to appreciate this one.
A curious fellow died the other day and found himself waiting in the long line of judgment. As he stood there he noticed that some souls were allowed to march right through the pearly gates into Heaven. Others though, were led over to Satan who threw them into the burning pit. But every so often, instead of hurling a poor soul into the fire, Satan would toss a soul off to one side into a small pile. After watching Satan do this several times, the fellow's curiosity got the best of him. So he strolled over and asked Satan what he was doing. "Excuse me, Mr. Prince of Darkness," he said. "I'm waiting in line for judgment, but I couldn't help wondering...why are you tossing those people aside instead of flinging them into the Fires of Hell with the others?" "Ah, those...," Satan said with a groan. "They're all from Tennessee. They're still too wet to burn."

Siwa....He said the very northern end of Wis. didn't give me a name or anything.
We have had a nice spring too and your flowers are just behind mine about a week.
DH walked with me tonight and we went through the small village near us and we were admiring someones yard and the lady came out and proceeded to talk our arms off! Then she oppend the garage to show us what a hunter her DH was..moose stuff, deer, fox, cyote's all stuffed and then she took us into the house it it was full of dead animals..I mean you have never seen so much stuff......they looked so real! But hey... I would not want them in my home! I wanted to ask her how she cleans all that stuff! I did not see a spec of dust around. Then DH wanted to get home so he made me walk to fast and now my hips hurt! My WW pedometer pooped out on me so not sure how much walking we did. I just love looking at other peoples gardens and stuff...she did have a neat walkway..we need to put some in out here..we need to do alot of stuff!
Move over Candice-I'm hurting from putting the rest of my lawn swing together-only a couple of do -overs. I am so proud of myself but I do hurt today and of course it's raining hard. Supposed to go to church picnoc on Sun but it's supposed to rain so we are going to skip it. Was going to make a strawberry rhubarb dessert-I'll make half of it for Brad and use Splenda. I weigh in today-haven't been too good. I would be happy to turtle. Did I tell you In was appointed to weigh people? I am the smallest one there but I struggle just as much. Who has the sun?Bye for now. Mima
Yikes-it might not rain tomorrow-clear right now but not for long. I am so wheezy!!!Had to use my inhaler. I gained 1/4 lb. but that's ok-it's those darn tortilla chips I love. They are now gone. Gonna make my strawberry-rhubarb dessert after all-went and dug up rhubarb in Brad's moms yard-house is not sold yet!!!Have a great weekend everyone. Mima

Wll, I am no turtle, and I hate this rain.
Should be my son's graduation day but they both need summer school. Some of my friend's have kids in the same boat. But I knew this a month ago so my kids did not get measurd for caps and gowns. Now they say we could have gone today and gotten blank diplomas. Thanks for telling me. But truly this has not been a good experience at school. There is no love between me and the Superintendent. I would have hard time shaking his hand.
I think parents of difficult kids should have their own graduation ceremony. We are the ones who did our kids homework, went to a thousand meetings, got called out of work etc . Those high honor roll kids probably did not get their parents to do their homework!!!

Ally you are right...my high honor roll kid never wants my help with anything but laundry and food! Did you see Oprah on parents, kids and the role the school should play..a buch of parents were sueing the school and teacher to make a point!
Oh..mima..I feel your pain all too well:( I am much worse sicne I walked to fast with DH..my back and hips..nothing will help but rest. I cannot sit..that is the big problem...it hurts to sit really bad..so I cannot even get in the car right now.
Nice here but hot and humid on the way next week:eek:

I have had Jenna (4 yr. old) all weekend and she has worn me out completely. She is never still for a minute. She goes home after church tomorrow...I'll go to bed! She is our little Ditzy Blonde Barbie Doll. Everything in her room is pink and when you open her closet door - everything hanging in her closet is pink (or - as she says - pinkt!) She had to have her nails painted pinkt after her bath tonight. But you should see her now ... curled up in a little ball with her hair tucked behind one ear sound asleep. She's beautiful!
I sometimes wish I could go somewhere (alone) for a few weeks and just rest.
That's cute Meme-oh Ally-do I know what you mean-my son quit high school in his senior year-I went to so many meetings about him and since I was a teacher myself, I was always so ashamed. But he did me proud when he got his GED and later graduated from Ferris State with a degree in engineering technology. I love to meet his old teachers and tell them how well he has done. All the stuff he went through helped him get where he is . You never know. Besides, sometimes they have to suffer the consequences of their choices-.At least they have gotten this far!!!Be courageous Ally!!!!Another rainy weekend-we were supposed to go to the church picnic but don't want to go in the rain!!!Be good guys-Mima

My son failed 7th grade then went on to graduate in the top 10 in his class. Went to college and got his degree in Computer Engineering and is now a Network Engineer making top dollar for a string of banks with people under him in 3 states. Like Mima said, you never know!
But...then look at my husband! He barely graduated high school. No college. Is a math whiz but has major trouble with spelling and writing yet he makes $30 an hour! Go figure! Education doesn't always tell how well a person will do in the world!
Well said-I do think it's a good idea to get training in some skill-technical school etc.-trade school-I have a brither who quit school at 15-went to trade school at night and has made great money as a steamfitter-now called HVAC-the funny thing is that my father was ion that business and also my son and now my husband. My son went to the library to take an aptitude test and found out what he was good in-he was always good in math-so Ally-did we help? It is still raining -we couldn't go to the picnic so we rented movies and watched 2 of them . We also went to Walmart again and bought a bigger George Foreman grill and we had our picnic inside. Between movies-It's supposed to clear today. Brad will be back to hook up the air which we will need this week thet said. Have a good Monday. Mima

Many young people decide that going to school is something that they don't want or are unable to do. I was one who found it very difficult to finish school at the same time as my classmates. I did finish at the age of 40. I have a nursing degree.Long since retired. Education is something that a lot of people find they need as they go through life.
Ally ,I hope your boys will go to summer school and get their diploma. They can go to a trade school and still reach as far as they want to. My G/son barely finished H/S. If he had not been a big guy on the football team I doubt that he would have had the grades he did. He could not hack college. He really did not like school. Football kept him there. He loves that. Now he is in the navy. Doing well and is talking about getting out and going to trade school. I hope he does. His mother teaches second grade and she struggled to keep him in school. Yes ,she helped him every night do his work. That doesn't always work. Your boys will find their way.
Hello everybody. ..I have had something kicking up in my stomach for almost a week. Staying really close to home. Not sick enough to go to bed . Just feeling lousy. I'm sure to be fine soon. Hope you all are well. We got a lot of rain this week.
Bye...Joanne

Hey Joanne...you must've got our rain...it's been sunny here!
My ankle is killing me today so I'm down today! Can barely walk. Today is daughter's BD ... She's 33! WOW ... how time flies! We're all going to Red Lobster to celebrate tonight ... sure hope the ankle is better by then. I'm on my way to take a Darvocet and a nap (if Ross will let me!) Maybe that will help.
Here is the page I made Paula for her BD ... I just loved the poem. If any of you have a daughter with a BD coming up and would like me to change the name so you can send it to her let me know and I will be glad to. Right now it says HappyBirthdayPaula.html I can also change the Love Mom to anything else you want. Just let me know ... it just takes minutes to make changes in something like that once I have it made.

Meme..what a wonderful BD wish for your Daughter!!!!!!!!!!
I know Education does not mean you will be a success in life but In most cases it helps you to get a start..but then again if you know the right person that is a whole different story! My 26 year old son is still without a job and even the low paying jobs tell him he is not quaified to finish school first....the job market is way down right now...so we are still paying his rent and medical...so if ya have some extra moo...la...we are passing the hat!;)
Tell him to get his GED or do you mean college, Candice. My son passed the GED without taking classes-he's that bright. Anyhow......Going to the gastroenterologist to make an appt for my colonoscopy and am nervous-it's the prep work ahead that I fear-of well-it's not today. Also have to go to the Social security offic to sign up with Brad-he starts collecting in OCT. Hope you feel better Joanne-we ahve gone from rainy to real hot and Brad hasn't hooked up the air yet-says he'll do it today He had better!!!!Hope your move is going well Anne- That was a beautiful card Meme-my daughter's birthday is in April so I hope i remember the card until then. Things are much better today, healthwise. I can relate to helping a son to get on his feet. Mine was in college working on his second degree,no job in sight and a mountain of bills left from former wife and school, We paid for just about everything. It seemed like a bottomless well. We all survived. He is doing well.
The Birthday card to your daughter,Meme, was really nice. My daughter will be 47 her birthday. She is a great "little girl" to me.
Hope everyone is well...Joanne

Joanne... I bet you are a great mother to your daughter. I am 47 this year and miss my mother so much. I still visit my aunt every other week. She is still learning the computer. She appreciates my visits and I enjoy talking to her. So it all works out.
ANd thank you all for your support re: my kids. This has been a tough year. I took them to sign up for summer school today. Cost me $400...that kills me since I am not sure the school lived up to their share of the blame either. I am also signing them up for two basic courses at the community college. If they don't like that, we will go for a trade.
Speaking of trades, I just traded my car in on a Buick Le Sabre. It was the car I wanted last year but my son kept calling it an Old Fart car and got me to get the sportier Regal. Well...the air conditioning went. It was temperature controlled so the whole dash unit had to be replaced. I said NO....let me think about it. So I drove in today and said "make me a deal". I am a sucker....cause I don't see any great deal. Oh well, it is only money!!!

Hi ladies - coming off about my worst flare in years. Have doubled meds which seems to have (as usual) about doubled my appetite. Dh and I spent most of the day picnicing in a state park.
We seem to take turns being sick-hope you feel better Anagram-way to go Ally!!!!I did get my air comditioning yesterday but not the tthermostat-you have to go downstairs to unpug it-I guess if Brad goes up and down enough, it will get put in. Glad you are better Joanne. went to the doc yesterday-have to wait 4 months for my appt-luckily-except for yesterday when I was nervous, my stomache had calmed down. Going to lunch with a friend today and to a fabric store. Bye for now Mima

Ally-$400 to sign your kids for summer school!!!!It must be in a private school. I never heard of such a thing in public schools. Maybe I am way behind times.. They will find their way. Don't worry..One thing I told my son, Go to school or get a job and pay rent. He went to school and got a job too. Then he made a big mistake. He got married. That lasted 7 yrs. He has been single ever since. Old fart car? don't listen to the kids ..Do your own thing.. 47 is still young Ally. It's the parent of the 47 yr.olds that are getting old.
Mima..I am feeling better. I can still eat .

I am finally finished moving. The old place is cleaned up and the new one is messed up:lol: I am ALMOST finished. Just have a few pictures to hang and a little rearranging to do, but otherwise I guess we are settled in. It is really nice and quiet and the grounds of the building are beautiful. I will have to try get a picture to show you.
I hope that you all will be feeling better soon. These flares that we get, are just downers, that is for sure.
Today was the day I crashed. The all consuming fatigue just took over and my ambition was nil. Could hardly think staight. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I did a little bit today, but mostly I sat on the deck in my lounge chair and read and slept. Had no choice, couldn't seem to keep my eyes open. I guess that is what you get when you push yourself to hard. I felt it coming on since Tuesday night, little by little.
Everyone one have a good day.
I was like that Anne-I hurt so much that first night, I couldn't sleep. My flareup has gone into my back and my sinuses-I bet you are happy that you are there-what a lot of work . It's still hot here but supposed to cool off. Fixed my computer problems with a phone call and a new version of Earthlink. I was ready to get rid of them.We are supposed to go to the Singles group where we met for a concert tonight. That will be funny-nice because we still know a lot of people, One of them said that we are a real success story-I guess so. I have such a nice husband. Have a good weekend. Mima

I sure hope you all get to feeling better soon.
I walked tonight. Only 30 minutes but that at least. I will try and do more tomorrow. I went after supper. It was still hot and not a breeze at the beach. I am trying to get back into my routines. I lucked out and didn't gain these last two weeks. So I got a turtle. God must be smiling on me. I just can't eat like I did tonight anymore.
Nice to hear from you Happy. Are you there to stay now?Moving is so hard.
Ally - are things getting better?
Mima- We are really into summer here. It will be even hotter further south.
I see where that girl that killed that man in her windshield ,in Texas, got 50 years. That isn't enough!I don't for the life of me see how she could have done that. She probably won't spend a third of that in jail.
Anagram - Are you doing better? Hope so.
Hello Meme,Candice...
You all have a great weekend....Joanne
Good morning! The weather broke-Brad didn't want to go to the concert so we went to eat Chinese and then to Kmart-then he had to go out on a service call!!!!So today I have to go to a supply house and pick up a compressor so he can install it this afternoon. It's always like this in the summer-I went to TOPS yesterday and the leader was on vacation and she forgot to give someone the key so we had no meeting!!!I was disappointed. But I came home and rested my back-it's better today but I'm not going to lift. Watched the Red Sox game-Wow!! 25-8. Computer is working great. Have a good weekend.Mima

I hdn't heard that woman's sentence for hitting the homeless guy and letting him die. Iguess I feel that she should pay back the world somehow. Maybe have to work at a homeless shelter the rest of her life. It is just so senseless. Now that she is sober, she is remorseful.
Nice day today. Bought fresh pineapple and watermelon so I would leave the junk food alone.
My son left the upfright freezer door open, I had to throw out a lot but thawed a big container of Lasagna. Will HAVE to force myself to eat that.....:o

I'm with you, Ally. I'd love to be in a new, smaller place but I want to be "beamed" there with only the things I want to be there with me.
I am doing better each day. Weather has helped, extra anti inflammatory and (when it finally dawned on me) extra MSM which supplement has been most helpful to me. Way behind on things again, of course. Hope to be real ambitious come Monday. And looks like DD and family will be here next weekend. Time to work on the bedrooms (I tend to neglect them when they're not being used much).
Was at DDs yesterday and came back tonight. Little one spiked a good temp so wasn't her sweet self the whole time. But we were glad we were there to help DD out with the kids as her DH was away.
Hope everyone keeps on trucking and gets to feel better (and no stinky rats for anyone).
I'm not going to discuss food. I'm going to pretend an alien flew in and took control of my body and it had nothing to do with me.
Glad you are a bit better Anagram-my pain seems to alternate between my ribs and back-ribs are result oif injury when I mved in 2000. That's why moving is bad-actually , lifting heavy things is bad. We don't have much planned for today. Computer kept disconnecting yesterday-drove me nuts-so I disconnected the firewall. Let's see today. Be good everyone. Mima
