GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today:

YOUR DIRECTION

The destination you reach is determined by the direction you travel. That seems obvious enough, yet all too often it is forgotten when making the moment-by-moment choices that establish direction. The direction that is easiest or most comfortable usually does not lead to a destination that is the most desirable. That's because creating something of value involves challenge, effort, sacrifice, and moving out of your comfort zone.

Imagine what would happen if you went for a drive in your car, and at every intersection you selected the road with the least amount of traffic. You would probably have a pleasant, comfortable drive, but would have a very difficult time getting anywhere in particular.

Traveling through life works in much the same way. If you always take the easiest, most comfortable road, you make it all but impossible to reach a destination of your choosing. The choices you make each moment are what control your direction. And the direction you choose to maintain will determine the destination at which you arrive.

To really get to where you want to go, move at every chance in the direction that will take you there.

-- Ralph Marston
*******************
THE MOMENT YOU BEGIN

The moment you begin to take action, the moment you truly make the commitment, something remarkable happens. Momentum shifts solidly in your favor. Problems are transformed into opportunities. Obstacles are transformed into pathways.Just a little bit of initial effort in a positive direction can completely change your perspective. And when your perspective changes, the whole world looks new, different and full of promising possibilities.

You cannot get all the way to where you want to be in just one step. Yet in just one step you can turn all the way around and begin heading toward that goal, that dream, that place you truly want to be.

Point yourself in a positive direction, and you'll immediately begin to experience the benefits. Any achievement can bring value long before you reach it, as long as you're continually reaching toward it.

On this very day, your most treasured dream can begin to bring richness to your life. Take that first solid step toward it, and see how dramatically everything can change.

Goodness, a new board and I'm the first to post.

Had a quiet weekend. Didn't do too much which is unusual for us. Newlyweds got in Sat night and Sunday opened all their gifts. that was fun. Then we hauled them out to their new house. I do mean hauled. It is a 40 minute drive each way.

Stayed OP all 7 days. Did have a little too much SF ice cream, but at least it is still OP.

If you haven't tried the new cheddar cheese triscuits. Try them. they are great. Hard to keep out of the box. I'm not much on tricuits, but these are really good.

Hoping that this week will be totally back to regular routine with working out and walking.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to jump into this week with both feet and OP.

Hi everyone.

It is a new week and I am hoping to get back on the wagon.
The weekends are impossible! I know, I know....I am wining again.
I am good during the week and I can blow everything in two days! This has to stop. I need to get motivated again and lose this damn weight! I would be happy with 5 pounds at this point!
Twenty five seems to big of a challenge right now.

So, here is my plan......and you can feel free to hold me accountable to it.

1. Only 2 starchy carbs a day and that's that!

2. Walk, walk, walk. I am going to get in 3 nights of walking during the week. I usually do a walk Saturday and Sunday am so that will make 5 days of exercise.

3. Water is not a problem for me....I drink it all day long. But I will continue to get a minimum of 60oz plus a day.

4. I will journal each day. I made a sheet in excel where it is very easy to enter what I eat and how many calories I am taking in. I will plan my entire week and follow it.

5. No wine with dinner Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday nights I go out with friends so that is why I didn't include that night.

You have all been so supportive and I actually feel like I am letting you down by not losing. I found myself pulling away from the group when I should have been seeking your advise and support.
Help me stay with it won't you?

I can do this, I know I can. I just need to get a good kick in the @$$.

Besides that.......the weekend was uneventful. Oh except for the pollen! OMG....I am dying here. We had this white stuff flying around on Saturday so bad that it looked like it was snowing. My eyes are red and my skin is a mess. I take Zyrtec and use Nasacort but when the air is this bad nothing works. I wanted to work in the garden but I didn't want to be standing out there in this stuff.

This is a short week for me at work. I am taking Friday off. I am going to my friends house to work on our scrapbooks. I am so looking forward to it. She has a little 2 year old and wants to get his book going and I have been doing one about my husband and I and I have another one for my garden. It is so much fun.

Well, I will check in later. I hope this week at work isn't as crazy as the last two have been. Yeah right......

Good Morning All

It's another bright sunny day here to-day. May try to get out in the garden again to get a few more plants in - but first of all I have to go to the store to buy some more. I'm getting it done a little bit at a time. I'm sorta waiting for my tulips to die off as they didn't do too well this year and I plan on pulling them out and planting some daffodils in the fall. Once they are gone I can figure out how many other plants I have room for. Sorry to say I only made 6 days on the OP Challenge for this week. The only indiscretion was a Dairy Queen ice cream that I had a few days ago. I had a fancy for one and actually had it in my hand before I remembered the challenge.:o:. I did o.k. on the water intake and the exercise although I forgot to post on the exercie board for Saturday which was badminton as usual. This morning I had Red River cereal for breakfast with some berries on top. This is the first time I am trying this and it tastes quite good with the berries. Has anyone else ever tried it? The ingredients are cracked wheat, cracked rye and flax seeds and it has a gi of 50. I'm having chicken strips and lentil salad for lunch. I have just made the Lentil Salad with Cucumber Vinaigrette form the recipe on the current Recipe Board. I had a taste of it after I mixed it all together and it tastes very good. Should taste even better when it's cooled off properly and the flavors have blended.

Jack-K - CONGRATULATIONS for staying op for the whole seven days. Those cheddar triscuits sound good but I am afraid to buy any as I know I wouldn't be able to keep my hand out of the bag.

Jane - I think it is a good idea to have mini-goals. If you aim for small increments I think your ultimate goal will be easier to attain.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and here's to a good SB week.

Marie.

Whew!!!! Today is the girls last day of school thank goodness. It's getting pretty bad having to get up an extra hour early to get them ready and drive all that way. They get out at 11:40 today too; I didn't see the point in them having to go, but oh well.

Now that school will be out until whenever it starts up again, hopefully I can be on here more than I have been for the last couple of weeks. Also I found the key to the treadmill and even have the thing sitting right here beside me, so I'm planning on using it some too.

Moving really sucks! It totally messed up my eating. Oh and speaking of that, I need to thaw out something for tonight too. I still have a lot to do around this house to get it into shape, but it's slowly getting there. I did get the kitchen put into order yesterday, now if only I could get the rest of the house done; and oh my gosh, I have so much laundry to do too, but I'll get a workout doing that since the washer and dryer are down in the basement and there are a bunch of stairs to go up and down.

Ok everyone, I've got to run, I need to hit the bank before I head out to pick up the girls, and I still need to find something to eat this morning. I'll see y'all later.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend. I had a bout of exhaustion that came on Saturday afternoon and lasted all day Sunday. So I didn't get much done. I did stay OP, and my Saturday weigh-in I'd lost 1.4 lbs. :)

They're talking layoffs at my work this week. I'll let you know what happens, one way or the other, but needless to say for someone that's living paycheck to paycheck, this is not a good thing.

Also, one of my good friends confided to me that she's met "someone else"... and is thinking of leaving her fiance. I am hoping it's just a phase, since this other guy is across the country and came along when she was feeling vulnerable. I don't know what do to - I hate to see her throw away 4 years of a good relationship, but I also want her to be happy. *sigh*

Good Monday morning all:

We had a busy weekend. My 5-year old went to a pretend sleepover on Saturday evening for 2 hours, so my husband, youngest daughter and I went to dinner at Islands. I just got a grilled chicken sandwich and took it off the bun, and ate with a fork and knife. I also had a glass of chardonnay. We went to a baptism on Sunday and then the party afterward. They had BBQ catered in, with beans, cole slaw, and then had ice cream cake. Luckily they did not put the sauce on the meat; they let everyone put as much as they wanted on. It had 13 grams of sugar per serving. I just had the meat with some veggies and ranch dip, and passed on the cake.

I do have another question: I am going to a catered dinner at the Olive Garden in a few weeks. The dinner choices include Spaghetti with meatballs, Lasagne, Eggplant Parmigiana, Fettuccine Alfredo or Ravioli di Portobello. I thought the safest would be the Eggplant, but does anyone know the sugar content of their sauces? Also, what about the salad dressing on their salads? Any info. would be much appreciated.

Jecrites: In case I forget Friday, have a fantastic Birthday. Better yet, celebrate it all week!

Jack: Way to stay on plan for 7 days. That's great! What kind of sugar-free ice cream do you like the taste of best? I have scanned the ingredients in some and get confused as to what is o.k. to have or not. As far as the cheddar cheese triscuits, I'd love to try them. I have been cutting little slices of pepper cheese and melting them on top of a few triscuits for a little snack and it's yummy! This does bring me to another question though; why are triscuits o.k. to eat when they are partially hydorgenated? I thought hydrogenated foods we were supposed to stay away from???? Still learning!

Jane: I think the mini-goals you set for yourself are very important. I always find I do best when I journal. It is easy to "sneak" a few things in here and there and lose track rather easily. Keep up with the exercise; I always find I am so much more motivated to eat right when I get that exercise in. I say to myself, "I worked my butt off today, I'm not gonna blow it now for that ______." It helps me if I can work out early in the day to start the day off right. Good for you with the scrapbooking. I have tried it but find it so time-consuming. I am not the craftiest person either.

Rosalie: Sorry for your slip-up, but I must say if you are going to blow it, why not Dairy Queen? I LOVE DQ. My daughter will often say after dinner on the weekends, "let's go to Dairy Queen." I have to try to talk her and my husband out of it. I haven't heard of Red River cereal. I have been eating the Hi-Lo back to nature, and the shredded wheat.

Jecrites: Amen; I can relate. My 5-year old graduates from pre-school on Friday and then I can give that poor vehicle a well-deserved break. It is a thirty minute drive to and from school, so it seems we are on the road a lot. She will still have swim lessons in the summer and I enrolled her in some fun classes at a community center not too far away. So, we will still have some running around to do, but not nearly as much. Enjoy your summer.

OH, ALSO, I signed up for a Yoga class on Thursday evenings at 7PM; I can't wait to try it. I've never taken Yoga before. Any advice to keep me from overdoing it?

Well, I will check in later. Take care.:)

Thought I would catch up while I have a minute. It's pretty busy here today.

Agape, there is a good bbq recipe on the board. I think Deb posted it. Give it a try. I buy Mccormick steak seasonings. You don't even need steak sauce with them.

Jane, when the weekend comes, ask yourself before you eat someth "bad" do I want to blow the good I have done all week? I bet you will at least stop and think about it and hopefully make better choices. Sounds like you have a good plan worked out. Good luck.

Rosalie, there are several things at DQ there are SF and taste great. Especially their Dilly bars.

Jecrites, Glad your long trips will be over and you can spend some more time with us.

Fillise, Congrats on making it though the weekend. They're tough.

Jenn, hope the layoff doesn't affect you. As for your friend. If she is unsure, better now than later in calling it off.

Pancho. WTG on making the right choices this weekend. You did great. Check out Olive Garden's website for nutitrion info. I think their salad dressing is ok. I just buy Kroger brand NSA yogurt. Vanilla. My DH thinks I'm nuts since I like vanilla best. Don't know the answer on the triscuits. Maybe someone else does. I just eat them. See my post to Rosalie on DQ.

Bob, hope the Dr gave you a shot today and you are feeling better.

Hi Everyone! Still remember me? So sorry that I have been away so long. Have been in a slump & now I've gone off the deep end & can't seem to find my way back. The scale is higher than it has been in way over a year. I need some serious help, so I figured I'd best get myself back to the board where I need to be. I'm having a hard toime fitting into my clothes & I have worked way too hard to just let it all go. I'm drinking the water, but I have not been exercising or journaling, so I'm vowing to do both of those things starting today.

I'm so out of touch with everyone here, but I'm going to jump right in & start with today's posts & maybe I can keep up. Mostly, it's the motivation & encouragement that I need to get back into the swing of this WOE.

Debbie, Your MM really hit home. Need to just get off my duff & get heading in the right direction is all.

Jack-K Sounds like you had a great week last week & you even survived the wedding! Bet you're glad it's finally over. I will had to look for the new cheddar cheese triscuits. I love triscuits.

jane8760, Sounds like you've got a good plan laid out. Now I hope that you can follow through on it. That's what I need to do, get back to a plan & journal again. I'm with ya, let's do it!

Rosalie Sounds like you're enjoying the out doors & gardening. I love daffodils. I see that my first gladiola is blooming. A varigated pink one. I'm hoping to get out there & cut grass this afternoon. That should burn off some of these fat calories I'm toting around!

jecrites, Goodness, school letting out already in your neck of the woods? The boys go through the first week of June here, but I guess some of that is to make up for the hurricane back in Oct. as they lost a week & a half of school time then. Hey, going up & down those stairs should get you in shape!

FILLISE, Don't you hate that when you lose a post? Especially a long one. But hey, at least you're posting. Better than I've been doing lately.

Jenn in MN, Hope those layoffs don't affect you too bad. Congrats on the 1.4 lb lose! WTG!

Pancho, WTG on passing up the sauce & the ice cream cake.

Have a 3 pm appt at chiropractor, so I'll try to check in tonight. Looking forward to being back on the board with all of ya!

Hey All:wave:

Just got home and have 2 kids waiting for me to get off the computer, so I'm going to have to make this quick - sorry...

Just found out as I picked up Michael that I have to take him back to school at 7pm for an awards banquet, they just told him today - what type of crap is this last minute stuff:?:

House is a mess, haven't had a minute to do anything and it shows. Oh well, TRANQUIL will just have to suffer with not only my bad cooking BUT a messy house as well.

If I can, will check in later, otherwise it's probably going to be tomorrow.

Hope you are all well today!!!

Melf, it is so glad to see you posting again. Get yourself out of that slump and right back on plan. Yes, you have come to far to let it all go. You did this before, you can do it now.

Deb, I'll bet you will be glad when school is out. Maybe some of your running back and forth will cut down.

Hello everyone.

Boy am I tired. So glad that today was the last day of school. I now have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader, YEAH :D

When I got to the school to pick them up, (they were supposed to get out at 11:40), they were already out and waiting on me in the parking lot, and I was more than early to get them. Of course all you know that's a 20 to 25 minute drive from here, then I had to drive another 20 to 25 minutes to go pick up my meds, and then 40 to 50 minutes to get back here. Then I had to go grocery shopping since I haven't had time to do that since we got moved and all. When I pulled up in the driveway, I saw that one of my "new" neighbors kids had been in my yard and gotten out some of my kids ride on toys and had it halfway down the block. Now we've been in this house what a week and a half to two weeks now, and this isn't the first time the other kids have done that. I'm always having to tell them to go home and stay out of my stuff. It really pisses me off too. I don't let my kids run around the neighborhood taking things that don't belong to them, so why do these other parents do it. I swear this is the first base I've lived on that the kids are allowed to do whatever whenever. We really have to get the other piece of fence put in to keep these kids out and then put a lock on the dang gate and I'll keep the kids stuff back there, and I swear if one of those other kids climb over the fence, someone's gonna be hearing from me. Geez, if they want something to do, there's a park about a block or two away. I know I probably sound a little *****y, but holy cow, I see no need in other kids loosing or breaking my kids things when they can do that perfectly on their own.

Ok, enough of that. Here's a couple of replies, and then I'm off to start some laundry; (everyone here will be happy when I get done with that chore!):^:

Jack-k, Oh yeah, those cheddar triscuits are yummy. My kids said they taste like cheesy popcorn. I also like the roasted garlic ones.

Melf, School was supposed to have been out last Wednesday, but they had to make up 3 days for snow. They would still be in school if we hadn't moved up here though. I'm sure that them getting out early means that they will also be starting early, but at least they'll be going here on base and will ride the bus. I'm really hoping to get my 4 yr. old into preschool. I don't know if they have it here or not; I really need to check that out before it gets too late.

Ok, now off to start in on the laundry. See y'all later.

Howdy ladies...

Today is lovely and I think spring has finally arrived. I struggled plan wise last week and don't really know why. I so relate to Janes honesty and shall join her for this fresh beginning. Thank you Jane..

I am so glad you are finally getting some answers BoB. My hubby has severe tendonitis and it was so frustrating for him trying to find out what the problem was. He now wears wrist splints and has gotten a lot of relief. Pehaps your cervical collar will make a great difference for you. Let's hope the MRI shows exactly where the damage is.. hang in there.

Melf... I feel that I"m right there with you. I know it was very brave of you to ask for help and tell your story. I know we can both get back on track. I feel so great when I stay 100% OP. I think I need to just focus on having a great today. Those days add up so quickly and soon we'll be reporting how great our week was. You go Girl!!

I'm dong some public speaking at the opening ceremony at our Cancer relay on May 31. I remember someone posting about their relay ( sorry can't remember who ). This is my second year as team captain and last year we were the #1 team in our entire division for raising the most $$. I really encourage you to participate in a Relay if you can. It is a awesome event and I am delighted to be involved...i. anyhooo..lets have a great week and just have a great TODAY to kick it off...

Hello All!

It's Monday evening and we just got in from our long weekend in St. Louis. Hubby's family had a graduation and a birthday and just a good excuse for a reunion. It was really a blast. We will NOT discuss my eating. However, one bright spot was that MIL and I walked/jogged two mornings. It was GREAT! She usually jogs a mile every day. (She's the one with the diabetes who has controlled it with her diet and exercise and lost 100+ pounds in the process.) I enjoy being with her. She really, truly loves me and considers me one of her own. So at least I got that part right.

Exhausted and grungy feeling. Going to go soak in the tub. Did get a $20 pedicure and a $13 manicure this weekend. Oh, did I feel like a queen. Also, I beat everyone (15 total) at bowling on Saturday night. But my butt muscles were so sore the next morning! Who would think one lousy game of bowling could have such bad repercussions. Geesh, do I really need all these humbling experiences?

Gotta run. That tub of bubbles is calling! Hugs to you all. I will try to keep up this week. I need you all.

Hi everyone
finally we have sunshine in maryland! I really feel better being out in the sun. I'm doing pretty good being OP. Only went off on sat with pizza hut pizza.

Does anyone know if any of the subway subs are legal?? I am having trouble trying to figure out what to eat. I work 8-4 as a home health nurse so I am usually on the road-I mostly eat mcdonalds eggs--I also work a part time job in the evening(drug detox) from 6-12am. (three kids in college this year) Subway is right across the street.

The hardest part of this diet is certanly trying to eat on the road.
i'm lucky though because my hours are very flexable-from one day to the next. So sometimes I can eat at home.
Any one with suggestions would really help--especially any fast food suggestions

thanks everyone

Dear Sugar Busters family,

I'm happy to say, my husband has purchased for me Dragons Speak . I'm learning how to use it tonight, and will begin participating in our group once more. It's like a new lease on life! I'm going to take my measurements tonight, and I did an official weigh in at the doctors today. I'm unfortunately 180 lbs. this means that gained 20 lbs. since injury, and I want it off ! I'm still going to use my weigh in at home, though. It is 10 lbs. less I'm going for 20 lb. loss. I look forward to being part of the group again. Also I re-did my Bio as so many people have come and gone. I thought I should.

deb: thank you for the Monday motivation.

jecrites and melf: We can do this together! I can't believe that I have gained 20 lbs. in one year! I'm ashamed to say that I once was a true SB fanatic! As of tomorrow morning. I will return with my boots on my SB book stopped my belt and ready to battle for the new me!

Hugs, Lara.

Well I have succeeded in 2 of my goals for today. I have stayed OP all day & I also cut the grass, so I did get some exercise in. LOL So nice to read all the wonderful responses from all of you!

Debelli, Sorry to hear that the kids are still booting you off the computer! School will soon be over & maybe you'll be able to get back to it. So Tranquil is going for a visit! How great! I'm sure she will find your house as clean as when we visited your beautiful home.

Jack-K Thanks for the vote of confidence. Yes, I did do it before & know that I can get back down to where I need to be, I just have to put my mind to it.

jecrites, I know you are proud of your kids for passing. So your dh in the service? I'm so far behind here that I need to go read the bio board I think. Excuse me for not knowing. Where did you move from? I hope they will have a kindergarten class available for your 4 y.o. in the fall.

BOB, So sorry to hear that you are suffering with a pinched nerve. That sucks! :( I know how you feel, as I have one too, but the pain has eased off for now. PT seemed to have helped & so did the Vioxx. I saw my doc today & told hime about the pain I experienced 3 weeks ago & that the pain has not been as bad since then. He was speachless & said he wasn't even going to try to explain that one. LOL. I said that's ok, as long as the pain is better, that's what's important. I hope you get some relief soon.

Grin + Share, You're right...we do feel so much better when we're OP. I know that & still put myself in this position. Yes, the off days do add up & thus the scale does also. :( But this is day 1 of a new start. Thanks for your encouragement. We can do this! Hey, great about the relay for life! We had ours April 4th & had our best year yet. It IS an awesome experience. I am 100% for Relay For Life! Hope you have a great turn out!

QUILTER/Kim, Sounds like a great week end! It's nice to be loved by your in-laws :) Hope you enjoyed that tub of bubbles. We went to ARK this past week end for dh's great nephew's graduation. Was a quick trip, drove up Friday & returned Saturday. 10 hrs one way, but it was worth it. My dh's family loves me too & it's a wonderful feeling to know that.

ladypmd, Don't think Subway's bread is legal, but you know...you can make any sub into a salad! That eliminates the bread all together. I like subway salads. We finally got a Subway that opened in our town a couple of weeks ago. Have you tried the McDonald salads? They are excelent!

LDBLOND, Great to see you coming back too! I feel for you girl. I know how hard it is to admit defeat. Mine is about 15 lbs but it's 15 tooooo many. I've been looking the other way for too long. I feel the same though, I'm ready for battle! I am also taking out the book & re-reading it again. Day 1 under my belt now, so I'm ready for the challenge. We CAN do this! We're worth it!

Well ladies, let me tell you, it feels good to be in control again & back among friends! Good night. Here's to a better tomorrow for us all.

Good evening friends--
Well, Brant didn't win at the rodeo, but he didn't get hurt so in my book he did super!! We had a good time, but the weather was horrible. IT SNOWED!! This is the middle of May.....we should have sunshine, and blue sky. Oh well!

As for the challenge, I made all 7 days OP. The only thing I am not sure of, is a serving of Triscuits....I had 4 crackers on Saturday with some RF cheese. I know they are legal, but did I eat too many? And we ate a lot later than we usually do because we didn't get home until late. We try not to eat after 8, but we didn't get home until 8, so we ate about 8:15. Don't think that will mess us up too bad though.

One more question, I thought fruit was supposed to be eaten by itself. One half hour before anything else. How can we eat oatmeal with berries? Or, are the berries an exception??

Getting to a few replies here, and then I am off to bed. Hope to get my yard trimmed tomorrow, as it is almost time to mow again.

Jack-k-- Haven't seen the new Cheddar Triscuits yet. Love cheddar though. How many triscuits is a serving? I don't want to over do, and I think on the box of reduced fat ones it says 7 crackers, but I don't think we can eat that many??

Jane-- I am sorry you are having such a tough time of this. We are behind you all the way!! You can do this, just take baby steps, and pretty soon it will all come together!!

Rosalie-- I am glad someone is getting the sun shine. It has been yucky here for a week now. I am trying to harden some cucumber plants so that I can get them in the ground. And then my tomatoes, and I will be done. Then I will start planting my annuals, if it ever quits freezing at night!!

Jec--Glad to hear things are shaping up at the "old home front". I hate driving! I am so glad that my boys are grown. No more taxi-ing them around!! Now I let them drive me!!

Fillise-- Sorry, I hate it when that happens!! And I have done it many times.

Jenn-- Will keep my fingers crossed that you are not one on the list of layoffs!! Congrats on the loss this week!!

Pancho-- I don't know any of the info you need, but just wanted to say way to go on making it through the catered meal!! It can be very frustrating some times!! You did just GREAT!!

Melf-- Welcome back!! We are here to help you find your way back, hold out your hand and we will help you back on the wagon!!

Deb-- Sounds like you are busy as a beaver!! My kids would know about things for a week, and just drop the bomb on me the night before, or that morning!! Never failed!! Hope you can relax soon! And get a turn at the computer!!

BOB-- Sorry that it turned out that way, but at least now you know. And they can decide the best course of action. Good luck on what ever they decide to do. It will be better than all the pain that you have been going through!!

Quilter-- I would love to have my nails done, but not until I am through digging in the dirt. I can't seem to find a pair of gardening gloves that fit well enough for me to work in. So my nails are in horrible shape right now. Congrats on the bowling game.....you da queen!!

Id--Welcome back......you know this is a great place to be. We have nothing but encouragement, and support for you!!

Everyone have a great night, and a wonderful Tuesday!!

Good Tuesday Morning All:wave:

Do you all mind if we just pretend that I'm on vacation and checking in? I'm just not going to be able to sit down here and get in a proper post this week. With TRANQUIL coming tomorrow night and me not having done a stinkin' thing in the house I just don't have the few hours, much less a few extra minutes to spare to post, at least not at this time, so I'm just going to be doing quick check-ins, if you don't mind and hopefully all understand.

Quick updates...

Eating sucks - tried to get back OP yesterday and found myself NOT. Hoping for a better day today. What happened you may ask? I quickly, not even fully, stepped on the scale and saw it had gone up, way up, and that was with exercising AND eating 100% OP and journaling this all to know. I just can't figure it out:shrug: So, I took it out on myself and boy, let me tell you, I'm packing on more pounds - why do we do this to ourselves???? Why do I do this to myself:?: Oh well:shrug:

Last night it wasn't a banquet at MICHAEL'S school, in a haste I typed that out, it was an awards ceremony. Anyhow, MICHAEL got the CORNELL UNIVERSITY BOOK AWARD. They give out 7-8 book awards from different colleges and he got that one.

Forgot to mention my Dad got out of the hospital Saturday night. Doing better but his right leg is still huge - 5" bigger than the other one. He had to borrow a pair of MICHAEL'S shoes because his own doesn't fit his feet at this time. Chemo should start soon.

LAUREN is going to be attending a theater summer camp program for 4 weeks and will be auditioning for a part in their production of CHICAGO. She preformed the song last Friday as I mentioned and people were blown away that she could even sing. MICHAEL has an appt. with this couple that saw his documentary tomorrow after school to discuss if he will intern with them this summer to work in the film/tv industry with them.

On top of all that, I have a board meeting tomorrow night and actually, there's one tonight as well but I told them it's one or the other, I just can't do both with all I have to do.

And, on that note, I've gone on too long already and need to get back to cleaning. Right now, working on the entry area when you walk in the front door. As those of you who've been to my house know, it can easily be a catch-all for everything and anything!!!!

{{{HUGS}}} :grouphug: to you all!!!!!

Sorry I have been MIA here. I can't believe how busy I have been.

First, I met YELLOW ROSE, Lyn, and her husband, Ray on Sunday night. I also met her two Burman cats, who are 14 and 16 years old! Beautiful kitties! We ate chicken Satay, with peanut sauce, brown rice and salad with ginger dressing. Everything was SB legal. As I was transferring the pictures from my camera to the computer, my niece commented on how young Lyn looks. She does! We had such a good time chatting, and Tom and Ray talked as much as us ladies. It was great!

Today, my niece and I are heading down to the High Museum of Art where we are going to meet up with Fillise and her group from church to see a special exhibit. Then this weekend, Fillise is going to come spend a couple days at Spa Monet. Talking to her on the phone, I could tell I am going to enjoy spending time with her.

My niece is here, and will be leaving Wednesday evening, so I am running around with her until then. I will probably not be able to get on much until then.

Also, I got a call on Saturday morning, and was offered a job. I will be going back to working about 20 hours a week as a cake decorator for Publix. They want me to work about four hours a morning M-F, which is perfect. Not sure when I start, but it will probably be in a week or two.

DEB: I can empathize with you on the cleaning...with Fillise coming, I have to do that too! If she is a neat freak, she is going to be freaked by my house! :( Suggestion: get your thyroid checked. You are at an age when thyroid problems begin to show up, and it could explain why you do everything right, but see no results. Also, why you at times feel so tired.

BOB: I am so glad they were able to figure out what is causing your pain! Now, they better fix it! Feel better!

MELF: So good to have you back! You did it before, you can do it again!

JECRITES: My daughter has one more week of school! Then she will be a senior! I can't believe its only one more year until my nest will be empty!

JANE: You can do this! All your plans are good ones! Don't worry about screwing up...we all do. The trick is to get right back to it!

JACK: Good going on being OP all week! You are the man! (or WOMAN I guess...:) )

I know I have missed some, but I have to go take my son to work!

The scales are just mean this morning...*smile* Hope they are nicer by Wed. Eating is fine. Too much pico de gallo...I"m addicted to the stuff.

(((Melf))) You'll get those pounds off. They snuck up on ya but you are in charge and they will have to go.

Monet...thanks for sharing the photos. It's so neat to see ya'll and you all look marvelous!

Deb...hang in there. Praying for you dad...I can only image how uncomfortable his leg must be.

Teensy...it's hard to imagine snow this time of year. We were soooo hot yesterday and the AC broke. Trust me I had the repaiman out here in record time. It was 87 in the hallway..just too hot. I was cooking and can only imagine how hot it was in the kitchen.

Idblond.....hang in there. It's hard when you have an injury. You'll get those pounds off.

Kim...welcome home! Glad you were able to get out walking. I really miss the outside walking.

ladypmd....when we eat at subway I just grab a salad. None of the breads are legal here that I know of.

Lori...praying you have another super relay this year.

Gotta scoot and get my day started.

Love,

Hi Folks,
Sorry I have been away so long. I love this board and feel bad not being here. My computer went down, had to replace the hard drive and still putting back the software.
I've also not only fell off the wagon but run over by it and the horse had to add his two cents. I've gained about 5 pounds and was all set to start over again. Just one last night of running around and eating out. My wife and I both grabbed a burger last Monday and both ended up with food poisoning. Me the worst, 2 hours in emergency room with IV's. Much better today and off to work for the first time in a week. Very busy time of year for me, and getting calls every day from clients, so lots of running.
Still running around getting ready for camp. 9 weeks starting in June, but have promised my self to eat better and stay with this way of eating.
Thanks for the emails and I promise I'll get caught up as soon as possible.
C ya all
Tom

Good Tuesday Morning.

I am happy to report that we got in our 3 miles last night and my 30 minutes of wt training. It feels good to gt back on the right schedule again. Planning on doing the same tonight.

Got my day off to a great start with my yearly mamogram at 7:00 this am. What a way to start your day:s: At least that's over for another year (I hope).

Jecrites, I can understand you being upset with the kids getting out your kids' stuff. That is just rude and irresponsible. Where are their parents? Hope you get that laundry done soon.

Bob, glad they found the root of your problem. Now just hope they can fix it. I have some doubts about Funny Cide with Empire Maker being in the Belmont and getting a nice rest. It will be interesting. RA seems a little better. I go to the Dr next week. I'm leaning toward the shots.

Grin, How awesome for you to speak at the relay. I'm sure you will inspire others. They are great events. My DD did one a few years ago and I have sponsored many people doing them.

Kim, sounds like a fun trip, but glad you are back on the board. We missed you. Funny how bowling affects your butt! Congrats to your MIL on a great job of losing wt and controlling her diabetes. She is one smart lady. This can be a good week for you still. Aren't pedicures wonderful. Just wish I could affored them more often.

Ladypmd. If you have a taco bell near you, you can get the taco salad and just eat the insides. Or salads at McDonalds and Wendy's. If yu have some ww buns, take one and get a hambburger or grilled chicken and replace the bun. It can be done, it just takes some planning and determination. Subway's breads are not legal. I'm not sure if they have salads or not.

Idblond, I'm so glad you got the computer program and you can be with us more. You did so well before, I'm sure you can bounce right back again. Good luck.

Melf, Congrats one day one OP and for getting that grass cut. With all the rain, ours is growing like wildfire.

Teensy, the fruit thing is for digestion. So if you don't have any digestin problems youc an eat fruit with your meals. I always have fruit with my lunch. Congrats on making all 7 days OP. It's a good feeling. I think 7 is a serving of triscuits. Sorry your DS didn't win the rodeo, but I'm with you. It was great that he didn't get hurt.

Deb, congrats to Lauren and Michael. Theya re wonderful kids. I know you are so proud of them. I'm sure Tranquil won't even notice your house. Have fun with her. I don't understand the gain. I know it is frustrating but don't make a bad situation worse. How are your clothes fitting? Maybe you are gaining muscle with the walking and yoga.

Monet, How neat you got to meet Yellow and not Fillise. I'm jealous. Congrats on the new job. Now all their cakes will be beautiful there. thanks for the pics. They are lovely.

Country, just talk nice to that scale and it will be nicer to you tomorrow. Don't let it affect your day or mood. They can play some cruel tricks on us.

Need to get busy here. Be back later.

I went over in calories for the day but over all it was a good OP day. I did have a glass of wine but it was red so I don't feel like I cheated that much. For dinner we had steak tips that I marinated in soy sauce, garlic, olive oil and green onion. It was soooooo good. I had a light cesear salad to go with it.
I also did not get out for my walk as planned. Hopefully tonight I will get off my @$$ and just do it.
I slept great last night so I feel wonderful today. I was always a great reader but ever since I started sleeping with my DH I can't seem to read in bed anymore. I don't know whether it is just because someone is beside you or what but I can't. I used to read every single night before I went to sleep. Now I can't even find a book that peaks my interest. But a friend gave me a book that she and a bunch of her friends have all read and really liked. The title is "Good in Bed" (not about what you may be thinking) Have any of you read it? I just started it last night and was laughing my butt off in bed. The main characters old boyfriend writes an article for a magazine called "Loving a Large Woman" and she reads it. She is furious of course and wants to get a gun and all the guys at her office start debating whether she can get one and if she would get caught. I thought that was histerical! If you have read it you will know what I mean...if not...trust me it was very funny.
Reading in bed always relaxes me and I slept great.

Now, for the food of the day.....I am having a tossed salad with tuna salad in it for lunch. I made my own dressing so it should be legal. I also bought the Cheddar Cheese Triscuits. What out girls...they are dangerous. I portion out 29grams of them in a snack bag so that I only have the 1 portion. Needless to say I have already eaten them and it is only 9:30am!
I have my oat bran pretzels and laughing cow cheese for my late afternoon snack and I have some unsweetend applesauce too. The crackers and the pretzels will be my only starchy carb for the day. I also made a grape tomato and mozzorella salad to snack on. It has balsamic vinegar and olive oil in it.
No wine tonight because we are having chicken. Red will not go!
I don't know if I will have another salad or not. I may just have some tomato and cucumber.

I need to find a new place today to get my nails done. I had acrylic overlays put on a week ago and they are already chipping off. I went back to the woman who did them and she said that was because my nails are growing so fast! Oh, PLEASE. I am going to look for someone else. I feel bad though because she is so nice. I get the pink and white done so that I don't have to wear polish. Not many manicurists do this so it will be hard to find someone else.

Work will be a little slower today so you may see me more often. I have been swamped lately so haven't had time to post that much. They had some layoffs at work last Thursday so HERE WE GO AGAIN! My husband is going to have a stroke if I get layed off again. Poor guy.

Deb: We miss you...hurry back.

Monet: The pictures where great. Thanks for sharing. You and Yellow Rose looked wonderful. Husbands are cute too :D

Teensy: Sorry about the snow. I can sympathize. Being from Massachusetts you never know what it is going to do around here. We actually had a frost the other night and alot of people lost some plants. Today is gorgeous....80 degrees and sunny.

Bob: I hope you are feeling better soon. You have had this for so long now I can't imagine having that much pain for so long. You deserve some relief.

Melf: I wish I could get in my exercise by mowing the lawn. We live in a condo. I actually miss mowing the lawn. It was like my quiet time. When I was growing up I would hop on the rider and just go....Oh that's right...that wasn't exercise if I rode!!!!!!

Grin: We can do this! It is in our hands whether or not we succeed. So I am going to stop wondering why I don't lose and fess up. I will always be a slow loser but I can do this if I am honest about my eating.

Yellow Rose: LOVE the kitties. I am such an animal fan. I love cats but I am allergic to them. We had them growing up but I can't be around them at all now. I miss having one. I baby sat my Mom's dog this weekend. It was so much fun to have someone to take care of.

 to all that I missed.

Hello everyone!

Oh it felt so good to sleep later this morning. I actually slep later than I had planned on, but oh well, the kids can't really mess up too much right now with the house still being in a mess from moving and all. I did get some pictures hung up yesterday, and it's beginning to look more like a home than just a house we live in, know what I mean? There's a bunch of boxes I have to get the hubby to take down to the basement. I don't care if there's something in there that I'll need at some point, I can always go down there and dig through them to find it, I'm just tired of the obsticale course I have to go through to get anywhere, plus I want to get the floors cleaned up and the boxes are in the way.

Ok, I had planned on eating 100% OP yesterday, but it didn't happen. I didn't get breakfast eaten, and that's where it began. On my way to pick up my kids, I got some of those tiny ritz crackers with cheese in the middle, and then be danged if I didn't get a flippin Snickers too, but that was all I had that was off plan, the rest of the day was good. Today is going to be different though. No running around, and planning on working more on the house, so I'll be eating here at home, and I have no no-no's here for myself.

Ok, some replies.

First I want to say thank you to everyone that has wished me an early happy birthday; it means a lot to me.

Now:
Melf, Yes, my hubby is in the military. He's in the Air Force; been in for 11 years now, geez that's a long time. When we were first married we started out in Denver, then went to Colorado Springs, from there he went to Korea and I took the kids and went home to Arkansas; after Korea we went to Shreveport/Bossier City, and from there to here in crappy Missouri. There is no big town this base is in, and it really sucks too. No problem with you not knowing, actually I like to tell people that he's in the Air Force, it shows him that I'm proud of him for doing what he does.

BOB, So glad to hear that you finally found out what's been causing you so much pain, I just hope that now you know, you and your doc can find something to help you get better. The blood pressure thing could have been from the meds you are on, and also it could have been from some stress from your pain you've been having too. I've been dealing with it for about 3 years now, but mine is because nearly everyone in my family has it and passed it on to me. Thanks for the early birthday wishes.

Monet, Wow, just one more year and no kids at home; I wouldn't know what to do. Shoot, if my 4 yr. old can go to preschool this fall, I won't know what to do then. It will be the first time in about 9 years that I've had the house to myself during the day; maybe I'll go out and look for a job or something, or better yet, have time to keep this house cleaned up!

Jack-k, The two kids that were taking stuff yesterday, their mom was in her house somewhere doing who knows what. From what I've seen, she has no control over those 2 kids at all. She'll call them in and they won't come to her. They are small kids at that, the oldest one is probably about 3 or 4 and the next one is maybe 2 and then there's a baby that is always on mom's hip too. Kids that small have no business outside by themselves. I'm really hoping that I can get on to the hubby here and get him to go on and get the rest of the fence put in over the weekend and I'll just keep our stuff locked up back there.

Kim, We went bowling 2 weekends ago, hubby didn't do so good because he couldn't find his bowling ball and had to use one of theirs. I found that my shoulder was sore from throwing that dang ball. I would really like to get the kids into it, I think that would be something fun the whole family could do, but I don't think hubby thinks they are old enough. Isn't that a shame? What a party pooper he is.

Ok, now off to work on the laundry again, (I seem to procrastinate on that chore), and then to see what else I can do to straighten things up around here. Talk to y'all later.

Jenn

Goood Afternoon all,

I just wanted to share something quickly with you all. It's about what happened yesterday. Yesterday, I went to get a mineral wrap to shed some fat and break down cellulite. I heard about the thing 1 year ago, when my mom went and was quite successful. So I said what the heck, and finally scrounged the money to do it.

Lemme tell you. I lost 16" across my body. Almost 2" off my variuos parts of abdomen and pelvic bone. Wow. You can really see the difference.

The treatment is totally safe and healthy and what it does is detoxify your body and replaces the bad with the good stuff.

Deb, you should try it. I am going to do it once per month, untill I get into size 6. Then maintenance. remember how skinny you thougth I looked? WEll, that's because when you loose weight, you also thin your face. THis thing thinns the stuff you want to get rid off.

Anyway, my bosses wife is doing it today, so I'll keep you all informed.

Gotta fly!

Good Afternoon All

I wanted something different for breakfast this morning as I was getting tired of hot cereal so I opened a can of salmon and had it on ezekial bread. I never thought that I would eat salmon for breakfast but it tasted o.k. I just finished the rest of the can with the lentil salad that I had made yesterday. The salad was yummy. My eating has been good for the past two weeks with very little bread, no rice and once lasagna for dinner. The rest of the time protein and veggies, salad and fruits and legumes. I hope the scale is good to me tomorrow. Yesterday I got some more planting done. Luckily my ds was home so I got him to dig the holes for me so the planting was easy.

Arcayne - Welcome to the board. We're glad to have you with us. WTG on losing 7 pounds. That's an excellent start. Lateley I have been cooking my rice in a non-stick covered frying pan. I got this tip from Delia Online's website and it works perfect every time. I use 1 cup rice to two cups water. Regular basmati takes about 20 minutes to cook and the brown basmati about 45 minutes. Bring to the boil and then turn down the heat to low and leave covered. It's best if you don't lift the lid during the cooking time and it is ready when all the water has been absorbed.

Jecrites - Hope things settle down for you a bit now that the kids are out of school. That's too bad that your neighbours don't control their kids. I used to have neighbours that thought their kids had a right to play on my property but weren't allowed in their own backyard to play.:(

Jenn - Hope you are able to keep your job. Must be a worrying time for you not knowing what's going to happen.

Pancho - WTG for staying op on the weekend. It is always harder to do when eating out.

Jack-K - I'll have to check out the sf bars next time I feel like DQ. I didn't know they carried sf stuff.

Melf - Glad to see you are back with us but sorry about the gain but I know you will be able to get it off again once you are back on the wagon. We'll have to tie you in this time ;). Sounds like you had a great day yesterday - staying op and cutting the grass. WTG.

BOB - Glad to hear that you are getting some answers as to what is causing your pain. Maybe now you will be able to get some effective treatment.

Grin - Glad you are getting some nice weather at last. Sorry to hear about your struggles last week. Hope this week is better for you.

Quilter - Glad you enjoyed your weekend. It must feel great to have such a loving mil. Congrats on the bowling.

Ladypmd - I don't think any of the Subway bread is legal. Anything you have in a sub you can have in just a salad. Have you tried Wendy's. They have good salads as well as I like their chili with a side salad.

Ldblond - Glad to see you back with us. I'm assuming Dragons' Speak is a voice recognition programme for the computer. How come that the scale at the doctors always weighs so much heavier than our home scale? We know you can do this. You did it before and can do it again.

Teensybean - Congrats on meeting the challenge and staying 7 days op. WTG. I wouldn't worry about the triscuits - a serving of 4 sounds reasonable. And I don't think eating a little later once in a while would cause you any setbacks. Sometimes our schedules don't give us any choice. It is recommended that fruit be eaten a half hour before or one hour after a meal as it is easier to digest that way. But if it doesn't give you any problem eating it with a meal then go for it. The rule only applies to fresh fruit, not cooked. Berries are an exception to this rule, they are o.k. to eat with a meal, don't remember the reason for this though.

Deb - I'm sure everyone will give you permission to have a vacation from the board this week.:). Enjoy your visit with Tranquil. Glad to hear that your Dad is out of the hospital and congrats to Michael for getting the book award and good luck to Lauren for the audition.

Monet - Lucky you getting to meet Lyn and her husband. The photos are great. Have a good visit with Fillise to-day. Congrats on the job.

Well I started this this morning but before I was finished there were several more posts which I didn't have time to read so I put in on hold and went out to do some grocery shopping. I'm back again but still don't have time as I have to leave in a few minutes for line-dancing. Will try to get back to finish reading later.

Marie.

Tuesday---Here's a quickie while at work. I just wanted to tell you all that I got on the scales this morning. Didn't want to, because I was afraid I would be up, up UP. But luckily, I've only gained a half pound. Wow, did I ever breathe a huge sigh of relief.

So I'm back on track today. Had a good breakfast and lunch. I have a meeting tonight right after work, so I'll take an orange to that. Since being gone, we have no groceries in the house.

Some quick responses:
VESNOID---that wrap sounds wonderful. Tells us all the details. How long do you stay wrapped? How's it feel? Does it smell weird?
JACKK--I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your regular life again. What do you hear from the honeymooners? Will you be at chat tonight? I'm going to try and get on.
JENN---We had a 4-year old bowling with us this weekend and she got bored with the actual bowling part by the third frame. But she enjoyed being there and playing with all her other cousins. You all could just try it out and see how it goes.
MONET---Your pix are GREAT! Thanks for posting them. Glad you and ROSE had a nice visit. Aren't our husbands great to go along with these gatherings of friends?
DEB---Hey! Get back on that wagon! Hoist your butt back up with the rest of us shaky souls.
BPTOM---Welcome back! Remember, it's a lot easier to stay on the wagon when you are regularly on this board. I've learned that same lesson about a thousand times.
COUNTRY----Good for you for getting in your walk. Keep moving! I'm going to try for 4 straight days in a row! How about you? Plus I have to add in some weights this week. These short-sleeved shirts are getting kind of scary.

Gotta run. Hugs to those I missed!

Quilter: it doesn't smell funny at all. Actually, it has no scent. They wrap you up very tightly in mineral solution soaked bandages, with emphasis to the problem areas. Then you get these plastic bags on your feet and hands which collect all the waste water that gets extracted from your body.

When you are properly wrapped (and look like a mummy), you then get to exercise on warious torture devices for an hour. You stay wrapped for 60 min and everything happens during that time.

The more you move and the more minerals you consume before going there, the more you will loose.

this is the web site to the place I went to

www.bodywrapandtone.com

It will give you some basic info.

Hi,

We arrived in NC Monday afternoon and just got the computer set up. I, of course, had to check in on the board but I will need to go back and read the messages more in depth before I can respond properly.

What a grand time we had with Monet and her husband. Monet even delivered dinner to the hotel where we were staying. Talk about above and beyond. The food was sooo delicious and I asked her for all the recipes. I wish that I had taken a notebook down to dinner because we talked about so many things that I could not keep them all in my head. She has promised to send me an email for some of the forgotten details. We talked non-stop and just had a marvelous time. I had my two cats with me for the trip and did not feel like I could leave them for an extended time at the hotel, so Monet was so gracious to prepare and bring over dinner. Monet and her husband are a real delight and I hope others of you get to meet them.

BOB: I hope you get that pinched nerve under control quickly. I would love to meet you for lunch when you pass this way. What fun that would be. Yes, I am very, very happy to be in NC again. There is a lot of work to be done to get the house back in shape as far as cleaning and putting things away. The bad thing is that my collar bone is not happy with me over the packing in Dallas and the drive here. I think I had better take it easier but my poor husband is left with a lot more work.

Deb: Hi to you. NC is just beautiful and I am delighted to be here away from some of the big city traffic. I am anxious to get my garden started and I think DH and I will go for plants tomorrow. Then I will need to find someone to get them in the ground. Probably anyother job to add to the long list my DH already has.

Jane: Thanks for the compliments on my little girls. They are such sweeties and a real joy for me.

Okay back to putting things away.

Not a single cheat today! .....so far. I still have to do battle when I get home.
I am going to go for my walk. That should help keep me away from the Triscuits! After that I will make dinner....boneless chicken breast then maybe work on my scrapbook. I would rather sit and watch tv while stuffing my face

But I won't..........................

I hope I get a good nights sleep again. It felt good to be so lively today. It's been a while.

Hope you all have a wonderful night. Good luck tomorrow. I don't think I will reporting my weight tomorrow. I know I am still up. I am just going to keep plugging along this week and hope for a loss next Wednesday. It will be hard with the holiday weekend coming up but all I can do is try.

Good afternoon.

It is such a dreary rainy day here, I just want to eat and eat. Luckily it has all been legal, but I need a diversion. Hoping it will stop so I can get my walk in tonight. So far I have had 68 oz of water. More to come later.

Tom, how awful about the food posioning. That will keep you out of those places. Hope you can join us soon.

Jane, I agree with you on the nails. Big excuse. Gosh here there is a nail place on every corner. They are all Vietnamese but they do a great job.

Jecrites, that's the big problem now days, parents don't watch their kids and let them run wild. No discipline.

Vesnoid, that mineral wrap sounds interesting. I have a gift certificate for a masssage, maybe I'll look into that. How long does it last?

Rosalie, Keeping my fingers :crossed: for you for a good WIW. You deserve it. The things we eat. It's amazing. DQ also has a sf fudge bar that I hear is to die for. Never had them though.

Kim, Honeymooners are home and back to the real world. They will never get their house together. One whole room is stacked with presents. I will try to get on chat but tonight is the season finale of 24 and I love that show.

Yellow, Glad you are settled in your home and happy to be there. Just take your time putting things away. Is this a permanent move or just vacation home? I must have missed soemthing. How lucky for you to not only get to meet Monet but to sample here great cooking. She sounds like a very sweet person and wonderful cook. Take it easy and don't work DH too hard.

Almost time to go home. Think we will have pita pizzas tonight. I hate thinking about what to fix everyday. Wish someone would come up with some ideas once in a while other than me.

Don't know if I will make it to chat tonight. Will try.
Good luck to everyone on WIW. Hope the scale is good to you.

Hi!

This will be quick as I'm very tired. I just got back from taking a group of "seasoned" citizens from my church to the High Museum in Atlanta. Monet and her niece came over and went through the exhibit with us! It was so great to finally meet her face to face! She is a beautiful and fabulous woman and I am so glad she was able to make it over today.

I'm planning on heading back to Atlanta on Sunday to spend some time with her--I'm looking forward to it now more than ever!

But I'm wiped out. I was driving a 15 passenger van up and back (about 90 minutes each way). It was a great group to travel with, but they wiped me out!

Talk to everyone later,

Susan

I didn't get to take my measurements last night, can't seem to find my fabric tape anywhere; but I'm 100% on plan today and it feels good. I have reread the SB book, and my sister in law is helping me to try and take out some of the extra fat, I seem to always eat.

Melf: You are right, we are worth it! Good job on staying 100% on plan.

Bob: Sorry to hear you're still under the weather Hope your pain and suffering end soon.

Deb: Sorry to hear your dad still having a tough time. I hope he sees relief soon.

Jecrites: Happy Early Birthday!

Rosalie: Thanks for the vote of confidence. This voice recognition program is the best thing I could have ever asked for.

I have a meeting to attend at the church tonight and planning on fish, green beans and maybe a salad for dinner. See you all tomorrow, for WIW.

Jack-K: the wrap lasts for as long as you don't gain weight and live a healthy lifestyle. CHeck out the website. It's quite informative.

BOB: OMG GIRL! You killed me...eeeeeck! Woudn't that be an interesting commercial...?

Ciao for now

Hello Everyone!

Here's an official "sit yourself down and catch up" post. Keep your fingers crossed that the phone doesn't ring!

First of all, I have to say that my eating has been perfect today. As you all know I'm counting my ww points to make sure I don't go over my limit on foods. Well, dinner is over and I'm only at 17.5, and my range is 22-29. So it feels good to be back on program and feeling full. I hope you all look back over today and have a good feeling. It's a great way to get the momentum going. I guess we all should just take it one day at a time, and not worry about the rest.

Okay, now some more responses.

DEB: Thanks for the two motivations. Great stuff. I changed my homepage to his site and I really like reading a new one every day.

JACKK: Cheddar cheese triscuits sound wonderful, but I don't think I would be able to handle them. Too much of a temptation. Besides I buy the cheap Aldi's brand, and I know they will never start making flavored ones. Congrats for doing a 7-day sweep on the program. Man, that must feel good. Of course, I cannot relate right now to that, but hopefully, soon. You are doing great! Keep it up! This pedicure I had was only $20! Can you believe that, and the girl did a great job. I'm going to try and look for a place like it around here. I would love to have my feet done once a month. I don't think that's frivolous, do you? Thanks for missing me. I'll do better.

JANE: I LOVE the sound of your plan. It's a winner, girl! You can do it. Is there any way you can do your walking first thing in the morning? I really, really think that's what helps me. There must be some truth to that thing about getting your metabolism started in the a.m. I'm wondering if that would give you a boost. Good luck!!! Please be sure and report your progress. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

ROSALIE: I envy you getting to put new plants in. The only thing I've gotten done was to pull the weeds. This weekend I'm planning to do my flower pots for the deck. Plus I want to plant marigolds as a border around my big perennial bed in the back. I do feel so blessed to have a MIL who loves me. She really is wonderful. I can be more candid and open with her than I can my own mother. (Not a bad statement about my own mom, just something about me, I guess.) She's really supportive and always ready for a good time. Her energy level has skyrocketed over the past 4 years. It's amazing to see the difference in her. A totally new and different person.

MELF: You and I must have been in the same slump for the past couple of weeks. We can give each other a hand up to get out of that dark hole and then point each other in the right direction. Glad you had a good time at your graduation family thing too. It's fun celebrating something like that. We also had a couple of birthday celebrations too.

BOB: Man, that really sucks about your pinched nerve. I'm so sorry to hear that it's giving you fits. You mentioned that the collar will make you hot at night. That reminds me of Paul who sleeps with a clip-on fan pointed directly at his face. His whole family are fan addicts. Perhaps a couple of strategically placed fans would help cool you. Maddie did okay at my DB's house. They were telling me funny stories about her. Like she decided to hang with my niece, Mandi, the whole time. Well, when Mandi had to go to work, Maddie would go upstairs and sleep in Mandi's room and wait for her to get back. She wouldn't even spend anytime with my DB and SIL. It's a good thing Maddie is beautiful, because she has a horrible personality.

TEENSY: Way to go on your 7 days on program!!! That's AWESOME!!!! A serving of triscuits is 7 (I think), so you were fine with that. Nice job!!! You are inspiring the rest of us to give it a try. Have you ever tried leather gardening gloves? That's all I use anymore. They fit really well. Mine can tighten up after I put them on. Then you can wash them and they look like new. My manicure has totally chipped off today. So I guess that $13 wasn't such a good deal if it only lasts 2 days. I am going to have to redo tonight. But I can't do the french tips like the pros do.

VESNOID: I had your wrap pictured all wrong. I thought they would mummify you and then you'd have to lay there perfectly still trying not to think about your filling bladder. I'll bet that place looks weird with all these mummies walking around. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Okay, that's it for me. I'm going to quick get a bath before it's time for chat. I hope I don't fall asleep in there. That's what usually happens.

Good luck to all the weighers tomorrow!!!!! And good luck to all the EATERS tomorrow!!!!! (I think that takes care of about everyone!)

Good evening everyone!

I wanted to grab a minute to post. As Fillise mentioned, we were able to meet at the High Museum. It was great! The folks she had with her were super nice, and welcomed my niece and I right into the group. It was wonderful to meet Fillise, and see what she looks like! Going through a special exhibit at an art museum is not a very good way to try to get to know me, though, (I was an art history minor in college, and examine every brush stroke!)so I am tickled she will be coming to visit this weekend! I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will be nice and the pool not green! ;)

I need to get back to visiting with my niece. She leaves tomorrow. Eating has not been very good. I hope Fillise and I can whip each other back into shape in that area.

I start work next Tuesday, hopefully.

Sweet dreams everyone!

Still hanging around, but have so much studying that I haven't been able to get on here. Hope all of you are doing well. My eating has been up and down this past few days. I'm hoping that all will be ok when I weight tomorrow.

Day 2 of 100% OP eating. I am proud to say I even passed up sponge cake with strawberries & cool whip at our Ladies' group meeting tonight because she had added a "little" sugar on the berries. Our meal consisted of baked potoates with all the fixings & salad. I passed on the potatoe & ate just the salad with a little cheese on it. The scale already showed a 2 lb drop from Sunday! That really started my day off right!

Teensybean, Congrats on staying OP for all 7 days! doing good! Hey, I think not getting hurt at the rodeo says alot! I'd call that winning! LOL Thanks for the hand up to the wagon. I see that I'm in very good company!

Debelli, My goodness Deb, you have alot going on. {{{HUGS}}} What kind of cancer does your dad have?? Congrats to Michael on his award!! :cp: Sounds like both Michael & Lauren are both heading for an exciting summer!

Monet, You got to meet LYN?? Isn't she a doll?? Best room mate I've ever had! Thanks for posting the pictures. You'll look great. :) Were Lyn & Ray on their way to N. Carolina? OOPs, I just got to her post. LOL And you also got to meet Fellise! How great for you! Hope you enjoy the rest of your visit with your niece!

Country, Thanks for the vote of confidence! You're right...those pound DO HAVE TO GO! I'm back on track now & heading in the right direction.

BlackPowderTom, Sounds like you had it pretty bad there. Did that food poisoning help drop some of that extra weight you found? Listen, that's the hard way of doing it! :D

Jack-K We are in a drought here. Grass is dying all over. We've not had much rain since January. I ate dirt while cutting the weeds, I mean grass. LOL They were calling for 50% rain today, but we missed every drop of it. They're saying now that it will be another week before we see another chance of rain. Oh dear!

jane8760, That was wise of you to count out the triscuits instead of bringing the whole box if they are that good. Makes me want to go out & buy some. I love the Laughing Cow cheese. Had never tried it till Debbie told me about it in Jan. I keep some now for my work bag to munch on when I get in a bind at work & can't stop for lunch. Hey, 2 hours of driving that lawn mower around an acre of grass with all the turning, etc...that can be pretty much exercise. Worked some muscles I had not used in a while. :D

jecrites, Yeap, not eating breakfast is a mistake. I try to eat, even if it's nothing but a protein bar or drink, it's better than nothing. Hey, you SHOULD be proud of dh being in the service! What part of ARK is home for you?? My dh is from ARK! We went up to Batesville last week for the graduation of his great nephew. His ds lives there. I love ARK, but LA has always been my home. I have a cousin that is in the army stationed in Shreveport/Bossier. Small world!

vesnoid, Hey, that wrap sounds very interesting! How expensive is it & where do you go for it??? Inquiring minds want to know! :D Hey, thanks for posting the site. Will definitely check that out.

Rosalie Hi there! great to BE back. I sure have missed all of you. Yeap, I'm on the wagon securely now. Don't think I'll need to be tied on, but if I try to fall off I'll holler for the ropes, ok? LOL. Your breakfast sounds very interesting. Wouldn't have thought of Salmon for breakfast, but hey... sometimes we get in a rut eating the same thing over & over. It's good to make changes I think.

YellowRose, Glad to hear that you made your trip ok. Sorry to hear that your shoulder is still bothering you so much. Now don't go doing too much & hurt that shoulder more! Take is easy will ya? Beautiful kittens you have!

BOB, Sorry that you're not sleeping well. It's hard to sleep well when you're in pain. I did alot today, lifting, etc & darn if my shoulder is not acting up again! I feel for you girl. Eat some chicken, maybe it will feel better. LOL

QUILTER/Kim, Glad to hear that the scale was good to you. Sounds like you're staying pretty busy! Good for you being 100% OP. Doesn't it feel great to be able to say that! Yes, it's fun to celebrate graduations. But we got a call tonight & the younger brother (15 yrs old) of the graduate ended up in ICU last night after a bad fall off his bike on a home made ramp. Cracked his skull & had a bleed. Seems to be stable tonight, but still in ICU!

FILLISE, You sound tired, but happy with your meeting with Monet. Sounds like the 2 of you really hit it off. That's great. It's always fun to meet others face to face. I have never been diaspointed in meeting girls from the board. I look forward to seeing others in the future.

LDBLOND, Good for you being OP also! Keep up the good work. I need to cut back on fats too. My cholesterol is still up, especially the bad one.

agape3737, Hey, 6 OP days is pretty good average. Good going! I'm hoping I can claim at least that many by next week. :)

Well it's late & I have to work tomorrow, but I really was determined to get to all the posts before going to bed. Best of luck to everyone hitting the scales in the morning! Hope you see good results & have a great day! Will check in tomorrow afternoon.

Hi everyone
thanks for all the advice.

Jack-K-WWbread Is that just whole wheat rolls?? That really sounds like a great idea. I do frequent wendy's for their salads. I do love taco bell so that is a good idea.

What kind of rice can I eat?? Is it uncle ben's minute rice??

I was doing real good today until I opened the refrig and the damn choc pudding jumped out and right into my mouth

So tomarrow I will have to do better

Can you believe it --It is going to rain the rest of the week. We had sun for 2 days and now rain again blah--

rain for a home health nurse is a double whammy. driving and getting in and out of the car all day is such a pain in the butt.

I hope that all of you have better weather than us in MD

have a good days

Morning All

I got a little coaxing to get on the board, so here I am.

I'm not happy to report that I'm back up 2 lbs to 172. :( I'm actually 1 pound higher than my SB start weight. I'm going to have to really start keeping track of what I'm eating. I think I eat mostly starchy carbs and proteins and need to get in a lot more veggies and fruits. I'm not good at journaling, so I thought I would use my Richard Simmons foodmover to help me keep track. At least I can see what little windows are open and shut and what foods I need to eat. It will also help me keep track of my water.

DH and I watched an informercial about the Power 90 exercise program. he was really interested and said he will do it with me, but I HAVE to do it. So I've got myself an exercise buddy. We ordered it and rec'd the DVDs yesterday and previewed them (will start today) and I like what I saw. The cardio has no fancy dance steps to learn, just moves I can do. I don't think I'll be able to do too many pushups at first, but I'll work my way to a fitter me:)

I'm sorry that I haven't really looked at the board, so can't make any personal replies.

WELCOME--to all the new people on board. This is a very good place for support and information. It seems that a lot of us who stray away, always come back here to our wonderful SB family:D

I hope everyone has a better WIW than I did. Keep working at this WOE everyone, cause we all know it works when we stay OP.

Bye for now.

Wednesday Morning----

Well, will wonders never cease? I was down officially this morning to a new all-time low. 187 which puts me at minus 17. Woohoo, I can almost smell that 20 pound mark. I hope you all have a good WIW report. I'm glad I didn't weigh last week. Just thought it was going to be too disastrous, but am so thankful I got back on right away. Sometimes I think if we stay off the scale too long, we lose track and need the accountability.

ZANNE---Sorry to hear about the gain. Hang in there. I think you are right on track if you start keeping track of your food intake. I know I'm surprised at how quickly it all adds up. Good luck with the food mover. I love to buy notebooks, so that's why I can stick with the journaling. When I fill up one, I get to buy another pretty little book. Good luck with the power 90 workout. I hope you like it. Let us know all the details. Good for your DH that he wants to do it with you.

MELF---Nice going on the sweets being passed up. You did great!!!!!!! That's the kind of attitude that will put you right where you want to be. (And the scale is already showing it!!!) I had an Altrusa board meeting last night. And the president made cookies. (Thanks alot!!!) I didn't have any either. I had taken an orange with me and peeled and ate that half way through the meeting. One of the women even joked with me about being so good. To me it's not a matter of being good, but being healthy. The orange held me over until I got home. We still don't have any groceries, but I managed to find a can of black bean soup which was WONDERFUL. That really filled me up. Sorry to hear about the bike accident. I will keep him in my prayers. What's his name? I'll bet his parents are beside themselves with worry.

SHEANNE----Hang in there. You sound so busy. We are here and want to hear from you, so just stop by when you can to check in.

MONET---Where are you going to work? I missed that. You must have talked about that during my two week AWOL time. Hey, girlfriend, I saw some beautiful rose bushes in St. Louis and thought of you and your lovely garden. Is it smelling sweet at your house? How's the TM going? Are you burning it up?????

Okay, I must go dry my hair. Hey, I got on the chat about 9:30 last night and it was empty. Sorry I missed anyone who made it on time. I was painting my fingernails and that takes all my concentration. Ha!!!

Okay, my first official WIW and I'm up 2 lbs.!!! :o I'm going to attribute this to TOM and my body adjusting to the new WOE. I hope that is it. I have really tried hard to stick to eating correctly. I do need to drink more water!

Jack-K - thanks for "chatting" with me last night.

Hope everyone has a better WIW than I did.

Gotta get to work.

Good morning everyone.

I did weigh myself after all this morning and the scale was quivering a little but it looks like it is heading downward. Not even a pound but I have been so good the last few days I am determined to stick with it to see what happens next week. I did say to my husband last night that I miss the wine. BUT I was good. I did have one glass with dinner and cut it with club soda so I don't consider that a real cheat. Before dinner I had some club soda with a lemon and lime in it and after dinner I had water. We really enjoy our wine so this is hard! But if I want to be thinner I have to make some sacrifices. My eating couldn't have been better yesterday. I have to put it into FitDay but I guessed at around 1200 calories yesterday. I was at 830 something when I left work and that was already accounting for the chicken for dinner. I only had to add the tomatoes and mozzarella, one glass of wine and some cheddar cheese triscuits. I was dying for chocolate I don't know why...I have some SF Fat Free Chocolate pudding to make but I am running out of skim milk so I haven't been able to make it.

I am a littled worried about the long weekend. I don't want to blow all the hard work I did this week. I am trying to plan it out so that I don't screw it up. Friday of course is usually beer. I don't want to do the wine because they serve cheap wine and you know how that makes you feel in the morning. I may just forgo all together. That will be a first. They do have the low carb beer (which is nasty by the way). What are the opinions on that?
Saturday and Sunday should be ok for the most part but Monday we may get together with friends so it will be the toughest day. Maybe I will make a challenge with myself to see if I can do it. Today I feel like I can....but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I am going shopping to the outlets stores near me tonight with a friend from work. I hate shopping now that I have to buy 14's. If my stomach wasn't so big I wouldn't mind as much. When I lose though that is the first to go...thank God.
I am hoping to get some new tops and maybe a pair of chino's that don't make me look huge! We'll see.

So....

Zanne: you and I are the same weight. We can make it into the 160's I know we can!

Harley: Don't let the 2 get to you. It may just be TOM or as you said the new WOE. Hang in there. If you notice we are all up and down people so we are there for you.

Quilter: Way to go! What I would give for 2 pounds. By the way...does your name mean that you are a quilter? I am too. I am working on a couple of quilts now. Who knows when I will finish but one is close! I just have to quilt it. I used to do my own French. It isn't hard once you get the hang of it. But now I have the French acrylic so that I never have to do it again! I don't have to wear polish either if I don't want to. I just do my toes...which is a little harder now that my stomach is in the way and my sight isn't what it used to be

Melf: You too! 2 pounds:cp: Boy I think I feel a compitition coming on!

Ladypmd: I MA we too are going to have a rainy weekend. Let's hope that by Monday it is nice out.

BOB: Where do you get all those graphics you add to your posts. They are great.

Jack-K: I am getting my nails done AGAIN at a new place that was recommended to me by a friend. Let's hope they last this time. When you make your pita pizza how do you do it....just SGWW pita, sauce and whatnot? I have never made one of those that I truely liked.

Well I could be here all day trying to catch up.....so I will just say:wave: to everyone else.

Talk to you later.

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope WIW is great for everyone.

I was down 1 lb today. These last few pounds are slow going.
But I will get there eventually.

Did make it to chat last night. Harley-Grammy and I had a nice chat. Wish others could have joined us.

Out of curiousity, how many of the people who said they stayed OP for 6 or 7 days lost this week? Just wondered if being OP for 6-7 days made a difference.

Bob, I sure wish you could get something to relieve that pain. 5 lbs is awesome. Take it any way you can get it.

Fillise, what can't keep up with those "young" chicks? Glad you got to meet Monet. How awesome you get to go to Spa Monet for the weekend. I'm sure you will be pampered and well fed.

Idblond, boy is it good to see regular posts from you. Congrats on being 100% OP yesterday. Keep it up.

Vesnoid, I did check out the website. It sounds pretty awesome. So if you lost 16 inches this time, next month you could lose that much more? That would be awesome.

Kim, no I don't think $20 is frivalous at all. Anything that makes you feel good and pretty is worth it. Congrats on the new low. 17 lbs is awesome. Keep up the good work. I always force myself to get right back on that scale. I need to scare myself in reality. I was on chat from 9:13 until 9:40. Me & harley Grammy. Don't know how you missed us.

Monet, You and Susan need to have your own private Detox Dungeon while she is there. You can come out of the weekend with a new outlook and motivation.

Agape, Congrats ont he 6 days of being OP. That is wonderful. I'm sure the scale will show benefits.

Sheanne, good luck on your quiz and onthe scale.

Melf, congrats on those 2 lbs. What a god motivation.

Lady, WW buns are impossible to find in my area. I get them from my niece in Md. I think the brand in Martins. They are 100% ww. Be careful of the ones that say ww. Read the ingredients and if the word "enriched" is there, it's a no-no. Nature's own makes them also. I buy Grant's farm 100% ww bread. Minute rice is not legal. You have to remember to keep your mouth shut when you open the fridge.

Zanne, You know this works and you can do this. The exercise program sounds good. Do your push up with your knees bent, they are easier.

Harley-Grammy, Enjoyed "chatting" with you last night. Sorry more people didn't join us. Sorry about the gain. Don't worry about it. Let your clothes fitting better and just overall feeling better be your guide. That scale loves to play tricks on us.

I have 2 big meetings today, so probably won't be back today. Have a great day and hope that scale was good to you all.
If not, hang in there. This WOE does work.

Hi Everyone:wave:

Just checking in. Didn't want anyone to think the dust bunnies had kidnapped me, or worse yet...

The house is getting there but it still has that definite LIVED IN LOOK! I still have today to get some things done. Spoke to my DM and told her I was feverishly cleaning for TRANQUILS arrival - she said "thank goodness for friends!" I do love a clean home but it's just not meant to be a continuous thing in THIS house.

Anyhow, I'm still in my nightie - a flannel one at that:fr: and headed back to the family room to continue on in there - once the clothes are washed it will be about done. It's getting there, slowly, but surely.

TRANQUIL is due to arrive with ZACH around midnight-can't wait!!

Hope WIW was good to everyone - I haven't had a chance to read the board and what's going on with everyone, so please forgive.

Hello everyone!

Ok, I got myself back on track yesterday! I'm so proud of myself. I've had so much sugar stuff, (I blame it on the move LOL), and now I'm paying for it. It will be alright though, I'll just have to keep myself strong and tell myself "no you can't have that" just like I have to tell the kids.

I'm not weighing in today. I'm kind of scared of the scales right now because of all the crap I've eaten over the last couple of weeks. I do have to say though that my clothes haven't gotten any tighter, so that's a good thing.

I'm not really much of a breakfast eater, but I was normally having a bowl of cereal in the mornings, but today I just had an apple. I'll probably just have a salad for lunch; it's already together in the fridge from dinner the other night. I just make up one huge bowl of salad and everyone just digs in and gets out what they want, and the rest goes into the fridge for later use. I have no idea what I'll fix for dinner tonight though. I hate making that decision. Shelby, that's my hubby, doesn't care what he eats as long as it's hot and cooked here at home; and don't ask him what to make either cause he'll just say that he don't care. The kids are always wanting to go have either pizza or fish, so I can't ask them what they want. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Deb, Boy oh boy do I ever know what you mean about the house not staying clean. I can clean up one room and go to another one and get started on it and come back to the one I've finished up to find that the kids have destroyed it again. I do know that a one story house is easier to clean than a two story one is though. Good luck with your cleaning, and have a wonderful time with Tranquil.

Well I'm off to figure out dinner and do some more laundry. I can't go anywhere because he's got my car. Talk to y'all later.

Morning all!

Whew! Today I'm more rested after a couple of very long and busy days. I'm very much looking forward to my trip to Spa Monet this weekend!

Bob--I'm glad you at least have a handle on what's wrong! Now they just need to fix it!!!! Though I'm glad you are down 5 lbs--I don't think this is the wisest in weight loss plans--but you knew that!

Ldblond--Sounds like you had a good dinner planned! Church is always hard for me--those people are sugar pushers!!!!!

Vesnoid--the wrap sounds wonderful. How long does it last? I've always wanted to try a wrap just for the heck of it!

Kim--WTG! You are 100% on program and it feels GREAT doesn't it? I tried the cheddar triscuits and found them to be just the thing when I want a salty snack--if they keep me out of the chips, then they are a good thing. I have to take my portion out of the box and then put it away. If I eat right out of the box--well, then, I don't have to tell you what happens!

Monet--I hope the rest of your visit with your niece was good! I enjoyed meeting her as well as you and I look forward to this weekend!

Agape--thanks for checking in and WTG on the water!

Sheanne--Good luck on your quiz and on the scales!

Mary--WTG on day 2 of being OP! We are swimming in water up here--I'll be glad to send some your way. They are saying we might get another 2-3 inches today and tomorrow! Yikes! Then they are calling for a sunny weekend.

Ladypmd--According to Bran-Miller's glycemic index, parboiled rice (Uncle Ben's) has a low GI--so I eat either it or brown rice--when I eat rice. On this WOE I've gotten out of the habit of eating rice!

Susanne--Goodluck with the power 90 exercise program!

Kim--WTG on the 17 lbs! Wooo Hooo!

Harley--TOM does interfere with weight loss. After a while you will know how your cycle plays out on the scale and will know when the occasional up are due to TOM. The trick is learing not to get upset by it!

Jane--The scale will go down--just have faith!

Jackie--keep working on those last few lbs!!!! Can't wait to get to spa monet!

Deb--relax--Tranquil loves you no matter what your house looks like!

Is it Wednesday--hmmm I need a week back in the detox dungeon. TOM is here and I am BLOATED. In fact it feels like my insides are falling out. Menopause o menapause--where art thou menopause?

Hi everyone,

I forgot about WIW, so I'll just post Saturday after my "official" weigh-in. Sorry I missed chat, but I was working on my next paper for class. This is the last night of this class, and in two weeks I start an IT Management class. So maybe if I'm lucky I can swing a chat or two soon! :D

That's about it for me. I haven't had a chance to read the posts, but I hope you all are doing well and staying OP. I've managed to stay OP, despite the stress here at work. Layoffs are definitely happening, before the end of the month, so keep me in your prayers that I still have a job. :(

Have to run,

Jenn

Hey gang!!! WEll, my first WIW and I am really pleased. I lost six more lbs, giving me a total of 13 lbs lost these first two weeks!! I'm down to 480 from a starting weight of 493. I just can't think about how far I have to go or I get totally discouraged.

I'm digging out my old Sweating to the Oldies tape, and I just won an auction on Ebay for a few more Sweatin DVDs, so this week, EXERCISE!! My body is probably going to go into shock, but I'm sort of looking forward to it. I've always been big, but I used to work my tush off, especially in the summer working ground crew for my summer job with the Parks dept, and it felt good.

You all have really made a big difference. I feel so motivated, reading these posts. I work hard to get my water in and I've picked up things I didn't understand about the program (like the 3grams of sugar per serving rule. So many things I've been eating have four or more!!). I was so focused on lower carbs, I wasn't thinking about the rest. I've even gone back to read other weeks, I work at home and am up late because of my job, so I get the munchies. After sucking down a 32 oz of water, not so hungry!!! :dancer:

So anyway, thanks for welcoming me (again) and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!!!!!

Well, here I am......dragging my sorry and heavier butt back to the board once again. I sure have missed all of you. Sorry I’ve been away. I get so busy with work and everything else going on in my life that I don’t take time for the important things, like staying OP and keeping up with my friends here. I’ve gained about 6 pounds so will start over with my official weight at 212.

Looks like there are some newbies on board since I was here last. Welcome to this WOE! I’m looking forward to sticking around and getting better acquainted.

As for what has been going on with me?? My divorce process has officially began. I was served with the papers a few weeks ago and filed my response and counter petition at the courthouse this week. We are far apart as to agreeing on a settlement, so this may take a while. I am representing myself, and thanks to the excellent typing and language skills of Tranquil, I feel like I had a great document to file. With the stress of this process, I’ve got to really try not to comfort myself with food during it.

I also adopted another greyhound a few weeks ago. He is a big red male, 3 yrs Old, named Dr. Bellah. I just call him Doc. He is 92 lbs, which is large for a Racing hound, which is why he probably retired so young. He is very playful and a clown around the house, and a very welcome addition.

Enough of what is new with me......

Crystle – I never did thank you on the board for making my new avitar. I really appreciate it. The picture is of my greyhound, Miles, that I lost in March, so it is special picture to me. Thanks so much.

Jack-k – I see that your daughters’ wedding took place. Did I miss any pics you might of posted?

Bob – sorry to hear you have a pinched nerve. Hope you find some pain relief Soon!

Deb – Hope you and Tranquil have a great visit together. Make sure you stay away from the chocolate store at the mall. I need her to come back highly motivated so she can help keep me in line!

Tranquil – Be safe on the road and remember to let Zach hold the steering wheel when You get tired. LOL I will be sure that Miss Fluff gets lots of attention while you are away. Doc will think he is heaven with being surrounded by 3 females.

Sorry I don’t have time for more, but have to get back to work. I promise to not stay away this time! Please someone, kick my butt if I do!

Will write more later.

Hi

No more losses for me this week. I am up 0.5 pound since last week. But I am still 3.5 pounds less than I was three weeks ago and considering that I have been on a plateau for so long I am not complaining. I will keep on doing what I have been doing for the last three weeks and see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Arcayne - Congrats on your loss this week. 13 pounds in two weeks is fabulous. Try not to think about the total amount of weight you want to lose. If you set yourself mini-goals, say 10-20 pounds at a time, You'll probably do better than thinking about the total amount. Just wanted to make a comment about the sugar we are allowed. When we say 3 grms per serving that refers to ADDED sugar. Some products, like milk, yogurt, tomatoes, will have a higher sugar content but this is ok as they are natural sugars present in the food.

Fillise - Lucky you getting to visit Spa Monet this weekend. I am sure you will have a fabulous time.

Jecrites - Are you having any protein with your lunch? An apple for breakfast and salad for lunch doesn't sound like enough food to me. Are you sure you are eating enough? It's when we don't have enough food (of the right kind of course) earlier in the day that we are more likely to get the munchies later. I'm sure we all can empathise with you about what to prepare for meals every day. My ds is the same as your dh, he never has any suggestions although I don't usually get any complaints about what I prepare. Hopefully now summer is coming we can have some barbecues. That way I get out of doing some of the cooking too as I usually leave that to my ds.

Deb - You're wearing a flannel nightie in the Florida heat. I wonder what you would wear if you were living up here. I'm sure you will have a great time with Tranquil and Zach.

Jack-K - Congrats on that one pound gone. I was one of them that stayed 100% op for six days and I am up half a pound since last week. But I am not too concerned about it after having been on a plateau for so long and I am still down 3.5 pounds from three weeks ago. Hopefully next week will be better.

Jane - Maintaining is better than gaining. I am sure if you stay op like you have been doing you will see a loss soon.

HarleyGrammy - Those extra pounds could be due to water retention and hormones. I am sure if you stay op (on plan) you will begin to see results soon.

Kim - WTG on being down this week. I'm sure it won't be long before you hit that 20 mark.

Zanne - Sorry to hear that you are up this week. I find that I really have to stay off those starchy carbs, like breads, rice pasta, etc. although I'm ok with the lower glycemic ones like beans, lentils etc. If you can eat more veggies you should find that you don't need so many of the starchy carbs. If I am having a meal without starchy carbs (which is most of the time lately) I like to have at least two other veggies to fill me up. That would be great if you had dh doing exercise with you.

Ladypmd - No minute rice is legal as it is too finely processed. When I mentioned Uncle Ben's in a previous post I was referring to the CONVERTED rice which is the one with the low gi. This one takes about 25-30 minutes to cook.

Melf - WTG on passing up that sponge cake and the potato. :cp:

I have to get going. I am going to my dd's this evening to give the kids their dinner as my dd is working late. She lives about a 25 minute drive from here. I plan on picking up a couple of cooked chickens, have made a coleslaw salad and will cook some spiced rice to take with me. Can always pop it in the microwave when I get there if necessary. Now have to go and fix up my hair and go out to do bit of grocery shopping.

Bye for now.

Marie.

Just a quick question.....

I picked up some Hebrew National Beef Hot Dogs (not my favorite but when in Rome). I love baked beans but know that I cannot have them now. Does anyone have an alternative? Remember that I don't eat veggies.
