Let's move our conversation over here! losingweightnow 04-04-2008, 09:03 PM MSTeacher - YOU ROCK!!! Thank you!!! MSTeacher 04-04-2008, 09:24 PM NP - now you just have to get people to start posting here LOL 3monkeysmomma 04-04-2008, 09:50 PM *Nickie walks on the board doing the funky chicken dance* :chicken::dancer: WI today, and lost 3.5 lbs!! and with TOM. They measured me and I lost 13 inches. That makes 14lbs in a month!! Oh I'm excited. We went straight from there to Kohl's where I bought the cutest pair of ginormous silver earrings and a gorgeous silver and turquoise bracelet (they were on sale) to reward myself. ;) Think I will do that every 10 pounds from now on. I set a $10.00 limit. 10 for 10 sounds fair to me. :D :carrot::cb::broc: Oh yeah Rocki your kids are gorgeous! jeweliek 04-04-2008, 10:02 PM *Nickie walks on the board doing the funky chicken dance* :chicken::dancer: WI today, and lost 3.5 lbs!! and with TOM. You're one rocking gma:) blueyedangel congrats on getting off the stinkin' plateau. I tend to stay the same or go up and down a pound and then lose 3 or 4 for two weeks in a row. Then I stop and go up and down etc.... We'll all get there. singalong Welcome and feel free to jump on in. I tend to lurk alot and not post too much, but I'm very motivated by this board and everybody on it. Well off to my big challenge-Las Vegas for 3 days. I will stay op for food, but I've made the "choice" to have some adult beverages while I'm there. Kinda sucks 'cause I'm already bloated from drinking Airborne (coming down with a cold I think) and I know it's water, but still...ugh. Good luck to everybody while I'm gone and be BIG LOSERS! I'll "read ya" soon. Noah Tall 04-04-2008, 10:11 PM *copied over from old thread* Hello I am new-ish as I was posting sometime in January of this year and as of today, I am back to where I started two years ago with this program. I am not saying it is the program to blame, or else my sign-on name wouldn't be Yoyo :) My quandary here then is this: I, like many many others, am in my car 75% of the day with 4 kids going and going. The program as I see it, requires that one is at home more than that to be really successful as the fast food options are limited (or is this just me rationalizing?) I read all of these great recipe ideas but then am hardly ever home or energetic enough to try them and end up just eating a protein bar/HNS and then I feel starved. I did make it to within 10 pounds of goal but then went bonkers and justified that NEXT week I will get back on program so THIS week, I will eat all I want of whatever I want. Then that NEXT week would turn into the NEXT NEXT week and so on and so on... Anybody else struggle with this maddening cycle? Also my question I guess is does anyone have any ideas to make this plan more travel friendly? It seems like the only way to make it work is to work it as in planning and prepping the night before ... I am not that great on planning but will certainly make it happen if that is the way to get these last 25 pounds off once and for all. I end up all p.o'ed at myself for gaining it all back which just leads to emotional eating (which before MRC, I would have never claimed to be an emotional eater! Or a bored eater...Or a habit-feeding eater...) ARRGGHH! I am a mess and I am tired of worrying about this. It is distracting and consuming. I would like my imagination back, please. :) Thanks and I know this is probably a heck of a first post -- thanks for listening. Heya, I'm a mail carrier, so I'm in my truck all day long. I also have a fairly long commute, so I don't get home some days until almost 7. Then, on some days, I have to leave and be on the road quick so I can get to practice. But, anyway, yes, just plan the night before, and pick things you can eat on the road. When I'm cooking supper, I can weigh out my meat and veggies (which are cherry tomatoes a lot!), then set it in the fridge. Also, your center should have an eating out list available for you. There are many good choices for you to make while eating out, but you have to make them. It does work, just be patience. ♥ Noah p.s. There's a sign on a church on my mail route: "Patience is waiting without worrying." I thought it was nice :) cargirl 04-04-2008, 10:11 PM jewelie I just noticed your Tommy Lasorda quote-that's excellent losingweightnow 04-04-2008, 10:25 PM *Nickie walks on the board doing the funky chicken dance* :chicken::dancer: WI today, and lost 3.5 lbs!! and with TOM. We were scheduled to do my "tanita" measurements tonight, and she decided that we should wait until next time, since we didn't know what the meds would do to me. Well, I think we were both suprised to see that I had lost 1.5 pounds! That puts me at 25 pounds, which is my half-way mark! WOO-HOO! I am so excited and so motivated to keep this up! 3mm~ I think that I saw you at the center today! Were you wearing black and white and there at about 4:45-5:00? Noah Tall - Hey there fellow Postal Worker!!! I'm a clerk, but I've done my share of crossing crafts and carrying a city route. :dizzy: My brother is a city carrier at another office. I'm gonna assume you're rural since you say you're in your truck all day... Is mail count a sore subject? All our carriers went down, except one. I heard it was bad everywhere and that our carriers should feel lucky... blueyedangel 04-04-2008, 11:39 PM Those are some pretty little girls you have there, Rocki. They look like their Momma! jeweliek 04-04-2008, 11:49 PM I made some great pork tenderloin. Cut into 5 oz portions - apply a rub of 6T Paprika 2T Ground Black Pepper 2T Sea Salt 1T Chili Powder 3 pinches Cayenne Pepper to both sides Sear and then put in an oven 350 F until done. Will take about 20 min. I served with Black Bean Pico De Gallo VERY yummy!!!! mireland 04-04-2008, 11:52 PM Thanks guys for the suggestions about the water! I will try. I am doing good I just try to tell myself that I have to drink 4 bottles... the 4 sounds better than 64! I had a really crappy day though. I decided that I didn't have time to go to the store this morning so I planned on starting the Meta Slim day 1 tomorrow. For quite some time now I have had gas pains... actually about 3 days a week. I had tried in the past to figure out what one specific thing was causing it and never could. I hadn't noticed until today that the pains were gone the entire pre-conditioning phase. Then today in a rush to get home and my daughter screaming in the back seat for food I stopped at Mcdonald's to grab her some breakfast. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered myself a Dr. Pepper and a hashbrown. Stupid stupid stupid! I drank about a quarter cup of the DP before I threw it out. I had already done away with all the caffiene this week and why go back. Much less it didn't taste as good as usual. I did eat the hashbrown though. About two hours later I was laying in bed with horrible pains in my stomach to the point that it hurt to move or breathe in deep. I was miserable. I think I have learned my lesson. I think I also figured out how toxic some foods really are! I also weighed in this morning and was down 3lbs. I have slight thyroid problems that will most likely make my weight loss slow but I was pretty proud! mireland 04-05-2008, 12:04 AM also can anyone tell me how to get my pic beside my posts... They haven't mentioned them to me in the three weeks I've been going but I keep reading about them here. Are they a requirement to stay OP? If so, how many a month? Thanks. My contract says, I think, that I have to take 6 classes during the weight loss phase. Which is 24 weeks I think, anyway I have already done 2 of them. Ask your counselor, don't wait for them to mention it...would be my advice... redgirl 04-05-2008, 12:18 AM also can anyone tell me how to get my pic beside my posts... You can then choose one of their pictures or down load one from your computer harddrive. If you want to download from your harddrive then Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, Just choose "browse" and then your files will be available to choose from. I have been so busy that we started a new thread I have been reading all evening to catch up. Hope next week I have some loss. I sure enjoy all of you that post and it helps me too . About the cheese I never knew it could stall my weight I tell you I learn something new every time I get on here. My counsler today had me switch my Metabolic Appetite Control to the Hoodia Hope it works as well as the MAC. Everybody good luck this week.:) bomaze 04-05-2008, 02:14 AM Good evening, everyone! Well, good morning to some! It took me a while to catch up - my, my ya'll have been busy! 3MM, I loved hearing myself in you while talking about rewards (I think it was you...it was about 15 pages ago) and the suggestions from everyone! I LOVE the earring idea! I don't do much because I'm fully intending to plunk down a lot when I get to goal but earrings I can handle! Angierue: My husband would love your exercise idea. LOL! He's tried to implicate a connection with frequency of "exercise" and big losses at WI. I tell him he's a witty man but I don't think so! I'm at my sister's and so far so good. Totally, 100% OP today and two more days to go. I'm especially encouraged to stay OP because I'm hopping on Tanita on Monday. My 14s are feeling a little roomy right now, so that is encouraging too! Oh, I made the BEST dinner the other night, taken from an earlier discussion on lunchmeat. I found some of the nitrate-free, low-fat, no sodium turkey, put in a wrap with sauerkraut and a tiny bit of fat-free, sugar-free homemade sauce (FF mayo with a tiny bit of low-carb ketchup) for a reuben-type wrap - yum! 3monkeysmomma 04-05-2008, 02:31 AM Hey all. Hey congrats on your 2 lbs!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Thought I would post an interesting link for anyone who is curious. I was thinking about sea salt today and wondered why it was better for me than regular salt. Seems however they refine table salt it makes our bodies retain water but sea salt doesn't so much. Anyway here is the link if yall want to read it too. I never realized just how important salt really was. http://curezone.com/foods/saltcure.asp readytobefit 04-05-2008, 04:21 AM *Nickie walks on the board doing the funky chicken dance* :chicken::dancer: WI today, and lost 3.5 lbs!! and with TOM. I will stay op for food, but I've made the "choice" to have some adult beverages while I'm there. Good luck!!! I was in Vegas for 4 days the middle of March. I did HORRIBLE and gained 6 lbs but I lost 5.5 of it that very next week. I just didn't do anything I was supposed. I think my only veggies were on the burgers or sandwiches I ate. And I drank a LOT (actually, my avatar picture is a "drunk Vegas" self portrait). I bet you have way more willpower than I did, though! :) Well, I think we were both suprised to see that I had lost 1.5 pounds! That puts me at 25 pounds, which is my half-way mark! WOO-HOO! I am so excited and so motivated to keep this up! :broc: :broc: Kick butt! That's awesome, especially with the meds you were on! Just wait, next week will be even better! :) Thanks guys for the suggestions about the water! I will try. I am doing good I just try to tell myself that I have to drink 4 bottles... the 4 sounds better than 64! Try getting a 1 liter bottle (32 oz). Then you only have to drink two! :D As for your stomach issues... Have you had your gallbladder checked? Where exactly is the pain? It is higher up, like under your boobs or lower, like below your waistband? Fatty foods can really affect gallstones and with a reaction like that, it makes me wonder if that might be part of the problem. Might just want to have it checked out if it keeps up. Good job on those 3 lbs down, though! My center is severely understaffed (sometimes there's just one person working when I go in) and the only class they do weekly is the Food Instruction. I've been talking to them and asking about the Finding the Connection and Self Esteem classes though. I told the center manager that I really think we need to try and get those going. I'm actually at a place in my weight loss where I usually start to fail. I'll lose 10-20 lbs and then start taking more and more "little cheats" and before I know it, it's been a week since I was on plan. Then two weeks. Then three... I really feel like the classes might help with that so I'd like the center to start them back again. Hopefully soon! Hey all. I WI tonight and was down 2. I was happy about that, since I normally weigh in on Saturday AM. SO close to Onederland...but not quite! :carrot: "Weigh" to go! That's awesome! :) angierue 04-05-2008, 05:12 PM I have had a few struggles lately. Having to eat out, DD birthday, etc. I haven't made the best choices but hope to get back on the "wagon" even though it is Spring Break. I have even had some cravings lately. I've never really had problems with that before. I'm, like, what's up with that? I finally had enough courage to post a picture. I am very hesitant because you all are so cute and spunky looking. ;) I'm right there with ya. I've had a lot of "excuses" for going off plan the last couple of weeks. Pretty much since I went to Vegas. And honestly, I am TIRED of cooking. I try to make sure I have leftovers for at least one or two meals but it's still a struggle to get in the kitchen and get it all ready. I've been getting a lot of salads from places but I know I'm not getting all the veggies so I need to stop that. That's a great picture! You're adorable. Thanks for sharing!! Yesterday they gave me a copy of my 354lb self and it was scary. Unfortunately, 80lbs later it's still difficult (for me) to see the smaller me but I'm working on that! Yep, that's me. Not seeing the changes in myself yet. As of this morning, I am down 30.2 lbs since January 2nd (have my MRC starting weigh in ticker, not my "real" starting weight). I'm constantly pulling up my jeans but I'm actually scared to go try on a smaller size because I keep thinking, "Well, I was just wearing these too tight and this is how they are supposed to fit." I was even going to go and see about getting a new pair of jeans this afternoon but talked myself out of it because I didn't want to buy another size 28 (which is what I keep having to pull up). I can see it on the scale and I can sometimes feel it in my clothes but it hasn't completely sunken in yet that I'm actually getting smaller, I think. I posted in the other thread (til I realized you guys had moved on) that I lost 1.5 more today, so 3 for this week. We're getting there. Yay! :carrot: Great job on the 3 lbs this week! angierue 04-05-2008, 05:20 PM Ok, I think I have finally caught up a little with you all! You all are a big ol' bunch of talkers, that's for darn sure!! :) I just had to share this NSV that I had today... I helped my office with an area wide clean up campaign this morning. We picked up trash in a location here in town and then we all met up at this park afterward where they grilled up hot dogs and fed us for lunch. As I'm walking up, I see this friend of mine that I haven't seen in a while. She comes and gives me a big hug and then says, "Are you losing weight??" I told her yes and that I had lost 30 lbs since the beginning of the year. She said that she could totally tell when I was walking up. That made me feel so freakin' awesome. I mean, some people at work have commented on it but most of them see me every day and know I'm dieting and of course, I always come back from weigh ins talking about how much I've lost so I don't know how much of that is "real" and how much is just to make me feel good. But this was someone that I hadn't seen a while so it just made it feel all that much more "real". Hopefully it will go a long way in helping me with my self image because I am still not seeing the loss myself yet. I'm going to be the DD for a bachelorette party tonight. I mostly volunteered for it so that I would not be tempted to drink. Now I don't have to use the, "I'm on a diet" reason for not drinking. I'm being the responsible one. :) WorkingARMom 04-05-2008, 05:24 PM Congrats everyone on their weight loss. I just wanted to post and test my ticker.:) carolinagirl04 04-05-2008, 06:25 PM Hey everybody I am doing good and my appetite is decreasing. Did any of you get to the point to where you didnt want to eat? Like you were tired of eating lol. I know it sounds crazy! Meemo 04-05-2008, 07:04 PM Hey guys....Could anyone give me memo's recipe for the homemade MRS? My mother in law wants to try to follow the diet without going to the center. I can't remember how to make it. HELP I see that Bonnie already posted it - wanted to add that I just saw something new (to me) at GNC - liquid protein - I didn't totally study the label but it looked REAL similar, and if I remember right it looked like it was 3 tbl for their serving, and 2 tbl would be the equivalent of an HNS as far as protein (12 g) & calories (60) goes. And it was punch flavored - I figure even if it wasn't so tasty on it's own you could add it to a fruity Crystal Light flavor & it would be okay. (Wildberry was already my favorite anyway.) Now I haven't tried it yet, need to get back to GNC now that I've researched it a bit more. You can see the ingredients on the GNC website. And there may be other brands available, that's just the one I've seen so far. I just did a quick math test, if I'm right it comes to about $1/serving. More than the powdered protein I think, but also more convenient. I'll probably pick up a bottle next time I'm there & I'll let you know what I think. losingweightnow 04-05-2008, 07:22 PM meemo did you know that the gnc at the outlet mall is cheaper than the other stores in the area? thought I'd pass that on. jeweliek 04-05-2008, 07:47 PM I just went through my closet and took out everything that is too big for me. I am not at my goal yet so I will not be purchasing anything new, but it felt goos. I only have a few things left, but at least now I look like I care about myself. I figured I could keep some of the close for when I get pregnant. PS havn't been to the gym in a while. Anyone have some motivation! (for tomorrow) (ugh what a bad attitude) What gym are you a member of??? I am in Fort Collins, maybe we could meet. jeweliek 04-05-2008, 07:51 PM Congrats everyone on their weight loss. All of the pounds lost and wonderful pictures! I love seeing all of your faces. It is fun that your writing personalities fit with your photos. I love it. Maybe I will download a pic of myself sometime - I'm a little self conscious. Welcome to all of you who are starting to post. You will love the encouragement and camaraderie. I am hoping to have said good-bye to my plateau. I started the Meta Quick menu, as well as the center's Fulfill Mixed Fruit Drink (fiber) on Wednesday. Yesterday, when I wi I was down a pound. I haven't lost in 10 days, so I was pretty excited about that. I will be on this menu another two days. Hopefully, the lbs will continue to go down. I would love to sign the 20 pound board sometime soon. Oh, did I tell you I'm moving to AR so I can have lunch and workout with ya'll? I think it's great some of you have connected with people at your centers. Does anyone else out there go to the Colorado Springs MRC? I hate that also, we have to pay so much for nice things and work so hard to get them, it irks me that people don't pay more attention. I had someone 'park' on my front fender with their fender one time, can you believe, they didn't realize it, and when I came out of the store, my car was stuck under theirs!! They were inside the store, oblivious to what they did. It is soon time for me to update my pic. I have the beginning pic, and then the -50 pic, and then I would like to add one at -80 for an update....I am so close to the 80 pound board...hoping to sign it by Wednesday. I would love to see your updated photo, the difference is huge in the pics you have posted, 80 lbs is right around the corner, my goodness! singalong 04-06-2008, 04:59 PM I have a membership at Anytime Fitness and Gold's in Loveland. Today I am going for a run/walk because it is gorgeous outside. Would you like to join me? I think I will go on Spring Creek Trail at about 1 pm. Thank you so much for the invite. I wish I would have gotten your message earlier! I am going to try to go to the gym BEFORE work tomorrow! I have never tryed this before. We will see. I am a music teacher in an elementary school and just seem to have soemthing else I need to get done after school. NO MORE EXCUSES! I think they say be COMMITTED not INTERESTED. DO IT no matter what. Thanks for letting me try to motivate myself. oh, I made a great recepie for lunch today if you miss eggplant parm. Peel and slice eggplant, cut longways, cook in a pan with PAM until brown Measure out 6oz lay on a cookie sheet use 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped on top of slices 1/2 cup thin layer of cottage cheege on top each slice, sprinkle a total of three cloves of pressed garlic on top of the cottage cheese then top with 2oz of Mozz or Parm cheese. Briol for about 6minutes. Then top with 4oz of sliced raw tomatoes. This make 2 portions. add your protien drink and fruit and you have lunch. Very yummy, and you get three big pieces. Good luck everyone. MSTeacher 04-06-2008, 05:25 PM Yeahh SHINEON!...you and I joined around the same time, and had a close starting weight, and we both have been trucking along at the same rate. You are GOING to make that 80 lb board! You have been SUCH an inspiration to me. And I can't WAIT to see that picture! There are still people who haven't noticed my 45 lb loss. If I notice the home scale moving, I might just go in early - so I can have the ONEderland weigh in before saturday! Edited to add: After further inspection, the "scratch" on my car actually goes down the entire rear panel on the passenger side. It looks pretty intentional as it is "wavy" Oh well. HumbleBee 04-06-2008, 05:32 PM Hey everybody I am doing good and my appetite is decreasing. Did any of you get to the point to where you didnt want to eat? Like you were tired of eating lol. I know it sounds crazy! You're not alone! Many of us have had that feeling...think we talked about this 3 threads ago. (that was probably only 3 weeks ago! LOL) After about the first month I didn't want to eat anymore - tired of cooking and planning and just plain tired of not being able to eat whatever I wanted to. Eating became a chore, not a pleasure like it was before. Do you eat the same thing all the time? If so, try something different. I'm very much a creature of habit, but thanks to everyone giving ideas and recipes I've been able to try some new things and it's not such a chore at this point. Right now I just miss being able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want. *sigh* Keep plugging away though, it'll pass. :) :dust: HumbleBee 04-06-2008, 05:37 PM Hi everyone  ...but I just wanted to let you know I got to sign the 70 lb board on Friday!! :broc::dancer::broc::dancer: I had a 5 lb loss week, so I'm back in the fat burnin' mode :flame:  :cb: WooHoo! Congratulations on the 70lb board! :cb:  HumbleBee 04-06-2008, 05:46 PM Hi everyone, Had a small cheat today. I was running late for church so I grabbed a meal replacement and protein drink and ran out the door...then realized I forgot my sack of pills. :( Oh well. I help out with 2nd graders starting at 11am and by then I was starving (not to mention the class was a little crazy with 19 kids...10 of them boys full of energy) and the Rice Krispie treat called my name. Split one with the other teacher so it was only half. I've had about 4 bottles of water since I got home. :) On the 6th of each month I update my picture. If you click on my avatar you'll see my beginning picture (162.5 lbs, size 16 on 1-24-08) and a picture from today (137.5lbs - my scale - size.....Juniors 13 - woohoo). It's starting to storm here so I better go before I lose power. Have a great day everyone! exsquisit 04-06-2008, 05:46 PM Congratulatons to all the losers! You guys are doing great! Today is a blah day for me. I'm having a sick of eating this food type day. I saw a guy going to lunch from Best Buy earlier. He had picked up some McDonald's and was eating the fries on the way back to his car. I really could have jumped him from behind and took his bag. Yes, it's that bad! I often wonder if I will ever eat anything good again (*like McDonald's is good for me*). I'm sure I'll get over it eventually. I'm very happy that I have this board to come to and vent. Maybe someone understands how I feel, because family and "friends" certainly don't. I'm already getting the 'dont lose anymore weight' comments. I'm like people I'm 5'4" 178. Tell me that's healthy. GEEZ. Oh well, enough of that. Everyone have a great week! readytobethinagain 04-06-2008, 06:26 PM I know everyone says this, but WHOA, I went out of town for the weekend, and there a new thread had tobe started??? Man, what a fast moving bunch! So This weekend was my sister's bachelorette party and we rented a cabin in Chattanooga (about an hour and a half out). It was about 15 women drinking ALOT and eating everything you can imagine. I was good, I carried my own food, HNS, pills and the willpower of a desperate woman. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with these younger women without doing something, so I did cave on the caffeine part, I drank a couple of diet Sundrops and some coffee with my hot chocolate HNS. I did NOT partake in the adult beverages, which I have to say was a little hard, but I had a great time watching them. I volunteered to be the DD (Great minds, Angierue!!). And I managed to resist all of the yummies around me....(dunh, dunh, DUUUUUUNH!!!) until after a ten o'clock dinner on Sat. night. (I was so ticked off (b/c of hunger) by this point, I'm surprised I didn't go off program before we left for dinner!!) SOOOOO, once we got ba ck from dinner, someone had brought down the homemade fudge pies...not the cream kind, but the kind that are like brownies and pie together...perfect texture and such? I had 5, maybe 6 bites of pie. And I have to say that all things considering, I'm ok with that. I'm not disappointed at all!! (and I know I should be convincing myself otherwise, but i personally felt it was worth it!!) ieduc8em 04-06-2008, 06:38 PM On the 6th of each month I update my picture. Hang in there! MrsPhibes 04-06-2008, 09:45 PM Sorry I have been mia lately but even though I haven't posted I have been reading. I think that's what keeps me motivated. Was perfect for four days and the scale hasn't moved. Then, last night, went to a final four basketball party (after dinner) and went way off. Champagne (we won and it tasted so good), and several off plan h'or dourves. Anyway when I weighed myself this morning I gained 1.2 pounds. Tomorrow is weigh in and I dread it. Also yesterday, went for a long bike ride and when we returned I was famished. Ate a meal replacement bar (although I had a regular op lunch) but couldn't wait 2 hours for dinner. :-P Today I hopped right back on plan and had buffalo burgers on the grill for dinner. They were different than I expected but good. Will let you all know how I fair at wi tomorrow. graduatethin 04-06-2008, 10:13 PM HumbleBee: Great pictures! Putting your before and after right next to each other is awesome!! You are melting away!! Wow! angierue 04-06-2008, 11:30 PM I am hoping to have said good-bye to my plateau. I love the fiber. I actually use it quite regularly. My favorite is to mix it with the lemon HNS. Good luck getting off that plateau! I was there a couple of weeks ago myself and it is so frustrating! If they didn't tell you at the center, the shakes are awesome blended with ice. It also makes it HUGE so you feel like you're getting more. My favorite is chocolate. :) I know I won't have time to catch up for awhile, but I just wanted to let you know I got to sign the 70 lb board on Friday!! :broc::dancer::broc::dancer: I had a 5 lb loss week, so I'm back in the fat burnin' mode :flame: Yay! That is awesome. Burn fat burn!! :) And woohoo on getting those size 12's! You are an inspiration! :) Meemo 04-06-2008, 11:56 PM I'll send you a PM about it. I'm not sure how many I would even go to--right now the cooking and eating out classes are both at 5:30PM which is not a convenient time for me. But it would be nice to have some more offered. I just wish they would do some kind of contest to win free weeks - that would be great! :D Now that I don't remember them doing. Just a monthly basket for the client of the month. They had specials sometimes on products and I think occasionally you could add weeks for a special price, but no "free weeks for a good weigh-in" - I'd have been all over that one! ShineOn 04-07-2008, 01:54 AM Thanks for all the sweet comments everyone. You are all a constant inspiration - the true secret to my success on MRC is this board! I meet a few people who aren't doing so well on program and I told them to get on-line! Goal4Life - you are right, we did start around the same time - I think I'm one month ahead of you. I do remember a time when I was ahead of you on the loss - you are just kickin' it!! But I'm pretty happy with my results so far. 3 cruises and a business trip to Vegas during this journey didn't set me back too far. Can't complain!! HumbleBee - you look amazing!!! You are melting away and you look much younger now!! I guess it's time to update my photo too. My last one was taken at the 50 lb mark. We're getting hints of spring in NE. I walked into church with my new clothes that actually fit (instead of the baggy clothes and coat) and I was practically mobbed! All of a sudden, people really noticed the weight loss. I started this journey for health reasons and that's still my primary focus. But I have to admit, I'm really liking this new body!! I'm ready to charge towards the finish line and start the maintenace portion!! HumbleBee 04-07-2008, 02:51 AM Wow, Lori - look how much younger you look! Fabulous! Do you ever look at yourself and only see the person that weighed more? Even though I can see the loss, my mind is still telling me I am so much bigger than what is there. Does that make sense? When my husband catches me looking in the mirror he will say something along the lines that I look great; I usually come back with "thanks, but I still see how big I was before...". I did notice my bones the other day though! It surprised me!! Anyone have that happen? Goal4Life 04-07-2008, 10:46 AM losingweight..yes I know what you mean, sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and just don't see it gone. I think that is why I use/need pictures so much, when I look at the 'old' me, and some of my more recent pics, then I really notice the difference. Keep up the great work! Happy Monday to everyone! I am having a rough beginning week. We have a new puppy in our house (we got him just 3 weeks ago) He is so good, and has potty trained well, and is learning the basic commands, etc etc. BUT...I can't get him to like/enjoy his crate. Now it has become the battle of wills when I have to put him in there. He settles down fine at night, because the crate is in the bedroom, but when I have to put him in when I leave the house, he hates it. I know that isn't helping him either, me shoving him in, then leaving him there. HELP.. I feel worse doing this to him, than when I have to punish my children with a time out or loss of privelage??!! Is anyone a puppy expert on here? I know that I am stretching out on a limb here, but you never know what everyone's expertise is on a thread. Meemo 04-07-2008, 11:52 AM If they didn't tell you at the center, the shakes are awesome blended with ice. It also makes it HUGE so you feel like you're getting more. My favorite is chocolate. :) That reminds me - if anyone has ordered the Wildberry from the other sources online & found that it wasn't the same (and was sorely disappointed like me :( ) I found a couple of solutions - sometimes I blend them into a smoothie, that's probably more of a maintenance item although you could use cottage cheese & egg whites & fruit for a lunch smoothie. OR, just put it into a blender or a Shake 'n Take type smoothie blender with 4 oz water & enough ice to bring it to 8 oz, blend it up & it's really good. They are more calories tho, 100, so I'd count that as a creamy just based on the calories. I think it's "supposed" to be a meal replacement - 100 calories ain't no meal for me!!! ;) - but I think y'all have mentioned that with the MRC meal replacement shakes you're supposed to have 2? So maybe it would be the same with these. Gma to 4 04-07-2008, 11:55 AM YES! I freaked out when I felt my wristbones jutting out, and when I started being able to see/feel my clavicle (sp?) I'm not a puppy expert, I have a dog but she's a rescue who was 7 whAnd en we got her last year. BUT, I can tell you what the rescue gal who brought her to us told me - he's safer in the crate when you aren't home. Keeps him from getting into things that could hurt him (and of course from hurting your stuff too). But think of it as a safety thing for him. Obviously he doesn't understand, but you do. And he'll get better about going into the crate as time goes by. My older daughter has a Boston terrier who was great about going into his crate once he got used to it. Now that he's 5 they rarely crate him, but when he was younger they did. My younger daughter is going through the same thing now, got a puppy about a month ago. She crates him while they're at work right now & sometimes I go over to let him out during the day & he doesn't like to go back in, but he's getting a little better about it. He'll get used to it eventually. Good luck with the puppy - what kind? snflrgrl1962 04-07-2008, 12:17 PM Hi everyone! I went out of town for the weekend and WOW the old thread closed and ya'll have 8 pages on a new one!!! I will never catch up!:D I went to WI on Friday before I left and was down .6 of a pound. I was kind of disappointed, but at least it was a loss. This was my first time going out of time since beginning MRC and I didn't do very well staying on plan. It was harder than I thought it was going to be.:( I can see that I need to do more planning next time. I didn't really eat anything off plan except a tiny bit of regular oil and vinegar dressing and some caffeinated coffee.....but I didn't get all my water in, didn't get to take all my pills, and had to miss lunch completely on Saturday. I was at a football game and there was nothing I could eat in the stadium, so I didn't eat. I hope I didn't mess up too bad, and I started back on track this morning. Just thought I'd check in. I haven't caught up reading yet, but I hope everyone had a great weekend and great weigh-ins! Goal4Life 04-07-2008, 12:17 PM Meemo..thanks for easing my worries a bit, any helpful clues on how to get him to like the crate, or at least not fight it so much? He is getting stronger than me now and he is only 25 pounds, I am worried when he is 50-60 pounds that he is going to look at me, then the crate, then laugh :) . He is a Golden Retriever, cute as a button, and smart as a whip, I think he is getting to smart for his paws right now! I am waiting on the puppy kindergarten teacher that we have to call me (but she isn't in today). I am such a wimp, I can't bear to crate him, when I have to muscle him so much. So I took him with me to take the kiddos to school, and I skipped my spinning class, all just so I didn't have to crate him. I called and told my mom, and she thinks I am crazy for adjusting my life just because I don't want to muscle our puppy into the crate. mireland 04-07-2008, 12:18 PM Well... I just had my first HNS... I have to say it wasn't that great. It wasn't bad but I don't like products that you can taste the aspartame. Leaves a funny taste. I have the wildberry passion... which I will swallow with all my might. How is the lemon? It sounds so much better to me but the center was out of it. I understand the McDonalds thing... my family had it last night. I so badly want to eat that stuff when I have a bad day.. sometimes on a good day! I can't get them on board with me though. My husband has great metabolism and ate 2 double cheeseburgers and a McChicken and a large fries. He still looks like a teenager. Makes me sick! Part of my stresses were relieved this morning though. My 2.5 year old daughter was looking at having tubes put in her ears... I know most of you are thinking why is she stressing out about that. My daughter is a water baby though. You can't get her to sit up in the bathtub. She loves to be underwater. I knew if we did tubes I would be fighting with her. Anyways, we drained her ears this morning and redid her hearing tests and everything was normal. Finally... maybe she will start talking now! Between that and coaching my son's baseball and planning a wedding. I have been unbelievably stressed. But soon.. that will all come to an end. I have faith! snflrgrl1962 04-07-2008, 12:24 PM Meemo I love your myspace page!!!! I saw the pic of Sanford Stadium on your page so I assume you are a Georgia fan. I am too!! My daughter currently attends and dances with the football and basketball dance teams. She dates one of the guys who is the Hairy Dawg mascot. My DH and I go to all the games. I was just in Athens this weekend at G day. snflrgrl1962 04-07-2008, 12:27 PM Well... I just had my first HNS... I have to say it wasn't that great. I am almost positive the pink lemonade it though. If he has a favorite toy that might help, but I think mostly it's just time. I love Goldens, my sister has one, so do my DD's inlaws. They're great dogs. Mostly, tho, like I said, it's just time. The more you do it, the more he'll get used to it. I'm sure the puppy teacher will have some better ideas for you. But actually, I think muscling him in IS what you need to do - you have to be the "Alpha" & be the boss of him, not the other way around. ;) Meemo 04-07-2008, 12:45 PM Well... But, if you don't like the aspartame taste, try the ones made with Splenda. I didn't like them as well, but you might like them better. Hopefully your center will let you trade them out. If not, one thing I did find that helped when I didn't like a flavor was to either blend it with another compatible flavor that I did like; or to add my liquid minerals. Also, try putting it in a blender with ice & water to mix it - that might change it enough to make it more palatable for you. Meemo 04-07-2008, 12:52 PM Meemo I love your myspace page!!!! Yep, I'm an old Dawg! Went there 2 years, met DH there (he actually graduated, I didn't). Love Athens, love Sanford Stadium, LOVE the Dawgs & am hoping for a great season. Funny, we just heard "Crank Dat" on the radio the other day & I was telling my daughter about watching the team and Hairy Dawg doing the Superman on the sidelines (and field!). I'm jealous that you go to all the games - we haven't been for a few years but I've told DH that we HAVE to go to one this season. I'm hoping for big things this year!! crested1 04-07-2008, 12:57 PM I am having a rough beginning week. I'm no puppy expert, but perhaps trying to bribe him with a treat? It always worked wonders with my parent's dogs. Make sure it's a comfy place for him too...my dog has a little bed and blankets in his crate, but then again, he's only 11 pounds and has no hair(gotta keep him warm somehow!!) Like Meemo said, though, you have to be the pack leader. If you are stressing about putting him in the crate, he's probably picking up on it! (I watch a little too much of the Dog Whisperer!) If you are OK with it, he will be too! Also, you may want to try putting on a radio or something for him, rather than being in a quiet room while everyone is gone...maybe the noise will distract him. crested1 04-07-2008, 01:01 PM Just came back from WI. Down .5....I was a little bummed, hoped for more, but a loss is a loss. BUT...we played Deal or No Deal today, and I won a free week...woohoo!!! I'm sooooooo close to the 30 pound board...I'm shooting for signing it on Thursday! They seem to think part of the reason for a small loss is that I got sunburned over the weeked, says it makes you retain water...well...add that to my lists of other reasons that I try to stay out of the sun/wear sunscreen, but I wasn't prepared to spend as much time in the sun as I did on Saturday...lesson learned. jeweliek 04-07-2008, 01:05 PM I have not done well the last couple of weeks! I am back OP today! I will do this. I am fighting with being soooo hungry lately. I got some fiber drinks and made merigue cookies (they said I can have them any time). Wish me luck angierue 04-07-2008, 01:10 PM Re: Puppy crate training First off, I second what Meemo said about it being safer for him in the crate. Plus, once he gets adjusted to it, he'll be fine. My trick was put a couple of treats in the back of the crate and get him to go in after them. Then close the door. Also, give it a name. I always tell Miss Potter to "Get in your room" so now when I tell her that, she knows what I'm talking about. The favorite toy is a good idea just make sure it's a durable one. They will chew a LOT out of boredom so make sure it's something they can't completely destroy (something made by KONG should work). My dog used to hate it too but now (she's a year old and I got her at 6 weeks), when I open her treat cannister in the mornings, she's usually standing in her crate before I even come out of the kitchen. It will get easier but you have to be consistent. Good luck!!! :) angierue 04-07-2008, 01:12 PM Re: Puppy crate training v2.0 Definitely leave the radio or TV on. Miss Potter likes to watch TNT while I'm at work. She's a big Law & Order fan. ;) ieduc8em 04-07-2008, 01:40 PM Get rid of them! It isn't good to have "back-ups" around - if & when you feel your new clothes getting a little tight, it's your cue to rein things in a bit. That's good advice. I guess I think I'm going to wake up one day and fit into them again. Thanks! Raemi13 04-07-2008, 01:46 PM Hi everyone! Holy cow- the pages are just filling up like crazy! I will go back and read what I missed since I headed out of town on Thursday - that will take a while. Anyway - just wanted to post that I hope everyone has a great on plan week! Rae ieduc8em 04-07-2008, 01:48 PM Well... I just had my first HNS... I have to say it wasn't that great. It wasn't bad but I don't like products that you can taste the aspartame. I like the concentrate ones....grape, mixed berry, and orange. They are really easy to mix in the small bottles of water and take them with you. I think you probably have to get used to the taste...kind of like diet soda. Hope your stresses ease up on you. I know what it's like to plan a wedding. My dd is getting married in June and there are so many things to think about...Whew! Good luck. Goal4Life 04-07-2008, 01:57 PM Meemo and Angierue...THANK YOU..I don't feel so bad now! I will just have to get a little routine going on for the crate. I work from home, so I am in the house a lot, but I think if I can wrestle him in there for the 2 main times I am out (kids to and from school), and then 1 other time a day other than bedtime, he will be ok on the days he has to be in there when I have more errands/exercise class. I am fighting with being soooo hungry lately. I got some fiber drinks and made merigue cookies (they said I can have them any time). Wish me luck Cookies that you can have anytime? Okay, I NEED this recipe! I have been craving cookies (and other not-so-good-for-me stuff.) I miss snacking and would love to have just a little something that I can eat. BTW, I used your recipe for pancakes this weekend--they are now my new favorite breakfast. Thanks! My center has never mentioned the fiber drinks. What are they used as (HNS, creamy, etc.?) I could really use some fiber. jeweliek 04-07-2008, 02:52 PM Cookies that you can have anytime? Okay, I NEED this recipe! I have been craving cookies (and other not-so-good-for-me stuff.) My center has never mentioned the fiber drinks. What are they used as (HNS, creamy, etc.?) I could really use some fiber. You can have up to 3 fiber drinks in a day besides your HNS. It is extra and will help to keep you full. You have to have them with your meal, or so I was told. They taste good like fruit punch. As for meringue cookies the recipe is in the cookbook. It is 3 egg whites and 1/8 t of cream of tartar. Whip to stiff peaks, fold in 1 t of vanilla extract and a packet of splenda. Spoon onto a pan that is covered in parchment paper. Bake for 1 hour at 225 F. Shut off oven and leave in for another 5 min. Remove. exsquisit 04-07-2008, 04:02 PM Thank you Redgirl! It was just one of those days. Sure made me feel better to hear you say that. You are a sweetie.:) Girl..I so know what you mean about McDonalds! Ignore everyone who is telling you to stop losing weight. You know what you need! Hang in there! 3monkeysmomma 04-07-2008, 04:03 PM losingweight..yes I know what you mean, sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and just don't see it gone. I think that is why I use/need pictures so much, when I look at the 'old' me, and some of my more recent pics, then I really notice the difference. Keep up the great work! Happy Monday to everyone! Is anyone a puppy expert on here? I know that I am stretching out on a limb here, but you never know what everyone's expertise is on a thread. I can tell you I know how it can break your heart. I tried that a couple of times but couldn't bare it so I let Gabby (when she was a pup) just stay out of it. We installed a doggie door and trained her to use it so she had outside access whenever she needed it. When she was tiny (yorkie) I put her in a babies play pen at night instead of a crate, it had more room and did not seem so closed in. I did this so we wouldnt step on her in the middle of the night or early morning and so she wouldnt fall off the bed, I only did it for a couple of weeks. The doggie door was our saving grace, our cat even uses it. MrsPhibes 04-07-2008, 04:07 PM I have not done well the last couple of weeks! I am back OP today! I will do this. I am fighting with being soooo hungry lately. I got some fiber drinks and made merigue cookies (they said I can have them any time). Wish me luck I was not very happy about my wi this morning (up .5) :(. I know that I was not perfect but I did exercise pretty intensly ( 2-2hour bike rides at a good pace=50 miles worth). And that added to my hunger which made me have some stuff off plan which made me gain weight ugh. So bottom line is that I've stayed the same for almost two weeks. If I am going to make my goal I need to step up my losses. The center suggested upping my HNS to 4 per day and taking more vitamins. I hope that will help but it does seem counterintuitive. Oh and I tried the chocolate pudding today at lunch and enjoyed it. Will have to get some more. Jeweliek: Tell me about the meringue cookies (recipe???) I'd like a little something to have with the new herbal dessert tea I found by Celestial Seasonings that's to die for (it's called Toffee). No caffine, no calories etc. DH likes it as much as I do but he gets to have cookies with it. I would like something to compliment it too. 3monkeysmomma 04-07-2008, 04:08 PM Well... Next time buy the HNS that doesn't have aspartame, grape, pineapple, mixedberry, those have sucralose/splenda. There may be more than that, I really like the grape. exsquisit 04-07-2008, 04:10 PM Mireland, I'm so happy that your baby's tests were normal. Everything else will fall into place. It's never as overwhelming as it seems. When you need a good laugh, just think about me holding five jelly beans and smelling them to keep from eating them.
