Esofia, in my personal experience from handling all of the email that has come through this site since 1997 () we've had many complaints from members regarding the vast number of forums here. It becomes very confusing for many people, particularly new members, and is a reason why some never return. It appears overwhelming. We tried to be everything to everyone and it backfired. We've thinned out some of the forums over the years.

Here's my thought on the topic in a little more detail...

The regular Weight Loss Support forum has housed most of our "relationship vs food" type threads very well over the years and at times it seems like that is the basis for most of the support threads in that forum. I think it would be difficult to ask people to only discuss certain types of support issues in that forum and start dividing them up.

Regarding non-weight related relationship threads, I still think that's best for General Chatter because this is a diet site and we round up all non-diet threads there and I think most of the members expect it to be there. It just seems to work well.

These topics are also included in some of the group subforums (20 somethings, etc) because those groups tend to stick together like a group of friends and they feel more comfortable posting there.

I just feel that it works well as it is, based on my personal experience here over the years. Ultimately the decision is not mine because I no longer own this site and am just a volunteer here. I think that my opinion and your opinion are equally important, and the community managers at IB will keep an eye on it and make any changes they feel fit down the road

Speaking as a moderator in the Weight Loss Support forum, I feel it would be a nightmare for me to try to figure out which posts belonged in "Support" and which belonged in "Relationship Support". I think it would be messy, confusing, and a lot of extra work for the mods!! Sometimes it's hard enough now to decide which to move to "General Chatter"

Personally I believe that 3fc is working very well just the way it is. It is a well-run forum, helpful to so many people.

A big thanks to the Administrators and the Moderators who have done a super job for so many years.

I vote against it. There's too much of this talk on the forum now.
