Default lag opening forum subtopics

it's taking about 30 plus seconds every time I try to open a new forum subfolder and threads. I don't think it's my internet/DSL, I'm not having problems with any other site.

On my desktop computer, I use Firefox with Adblocker Plus. On my bf's laptop, he uses Internet Explorer without any ad blocker. I notice a definite difference in lag on this site between the two. On mine, the pages and subforums load flawlessly without delay. On his, I am having to wait 30 seconds or more for the subforums and pages to load.

Yes, cookies are cleared on both and both have up to date anti virus programs that show no issues

I don't use any type of ad blocker or other browser plug-in because the site costs money to operate and I don't want to send the owners a check for my usage

IE will always be slower because it's clunky software, ads or no ads

I use Firefox and have DSL.

I have not experienced any problems, at least not lately. There have been times in the past where there has been some sluggishness but it was not related to any ads running on the site. Instead it was high server loads generally due to an influx in site traffic.

I have been having the same problems at work in IE8 but not at home with Firefox. I think it has something to do with the ads running at the top of the forums particularly the TARGET ad..anyhow I just gave up getting on 3FC forums at work until this gets cleared up. I don't have the time or patience to wait for the forums to load at work. Like everything else this will clear up in time

Dragonwoman, I've noticed the same thing and suspect it has something to do with loading the ads at the top. I have been noticing those ads now often match to the subject so was thinking some kind of search now running?

I have also been noticing this for the past few days. I might try Firefox and see if it helps any.

I've been noticing this for a couple of days as well. Last night, a couple of times it stopped attempting to load and left the forum page up. When I clicked reload, I got to the subforum that I'd clicked on previously. Very strange.

I've been having this issue for the past week or so, only when the Target soy joy ad is at the top. It takes the page forever to load.

just fyi, today I cleared my cache and defragged, and I'm still getting the lag (but the pute has picked up speed for other surfing, ha). I may try downloading the firefox browser. I've only had this problem the last few days. thanks for all the replies.

yep, with the firefox, the lag is gone.

The entire internet should be faster now I've always noticed a huge difference between the two. Now I don't even have IE installed.

Smile The lag is terrible

I too am experiencing the lag and believe it to be the Target, Soyjoy Bar, ad. I don't want to download Firefox. How long do the ads run? I'm really tired of being tempted by the Soyjoy Bars.
