Default not getting email notifications

i am new, so maybe the answer is out there already....but I've been clicking on the "instant email notifiations" option before posting a new thread, and I'm not getting any emails. What am I doing wrong, or is this because I'm new? thanks!

when i subscribe to threads i'll get an email when someone responds, but after the first response it doesnt email you again until you have looked at the thread, whether there have been more responses or not.

i dont know if that makes any sense.. lol. thats weird that you're not getting any at all though.. maybe there is a misspelling in your email when you typed it in on here? just trying to think of what it could be.. !

Ok, I think I fixed it. Your settings were 'do not subscribe' to automatic subscriptions, so I put it on send instant email. If that doesn't fix it, let me know and I'll see if there is something else I'm not seeing.

Hi Lucky I checked your previous posts and it shows that the subscribe option was not selected when you posted them, so no replies were sent. Jennifer changed your account so that you should get notifications from any future postings. If you don't want an email every time you post, you can change it back in your UserCP so that it won't be automatic and you can manually subscribe to the ones you want to subscribe to. Also, if you don't get any email after that, it might be that your email provider is blocking automated mailings. Many email providers consider that type of email to be spam. Also, there seems to be a technical problem with email reaching some members depending on their ISP. Hopefully it will be resolved soon

Well this thread was a learning experience. I typically use the quick reply box and had no idea you could subscribe like that. Huh. Good to know!

weird. I just select the drop down menu under thread subscription and select "instant email notification". It works on other boards. Anway, I'm still not getting any emails. I'll try to post a new topic sometime and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for all the help!
