You need to be a member for 20 days before you can use the PM function. We hated to put that rule into effect, but we were overrun with spammers who signed up for accounts and then started mass PMing our members with spam. It stinks that the spammers had to ruin it for everyone else.

But hang in there! The 20 days will be over before you know it. And if you need any assistance, use the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page.

The 20 days was hard for me to wait...but you can do it! I think it made me post more to answer questions. And today I did notice a spammer on here and it wasn't long before the SpamBall was spiked to the ground

I think newcomers should be able to PM mods, though.

So how do you reply if someone sends you a PM full of lies and untruths? I received a PM but cannot reply and want to make sure this particular person doesn't PM me again. What can I do?

If you have an issue and are unable to PM, you can always email using the "Contact Us" feature at the bottom of the page. That will allow you to email the site directly.

Actually, as I said, my issue is that I received a PM but I can't reply or forward it to an admin. I'd also like to block the person who PM'd me. Using the "contact us" feature will not allow me to forward the PM or block the person who PM'd me.

Hello,

Using the "Contact Us" link lets you contact a site administrator, which is usually me.

New members cannot send private messages until they auto-promote from junior to senior member after 20 days, which unfortunately was put in place due to a problem with spammers. In the meantime, you are welcome to copy/paste any PMs received of concern to the administrators via the "Contact Us" link and your concerns can be addressed privately instead of here.

Thanks for letting me know how that worked. I met a really nice girl here yesterday and we wanted to PM. Now we know why it didn't work.
