Gotta brag for just a second. My cheer team took 8th place out of 19 teams in their division yesterday. This team has not even placed in years and was coached by two people that have never coached before so we are SUPER pleased.
My daughters cheer team took 2nd place in their division. They were beaten by a team that regularly competes on the All-Star circuit. My daughter is part of the stunt crew and I am glad to say that those trips to gymnastics each week is really paying off.
We had a fun night last night. Munchkin is finally "getting" Halloween. Or at least more then last year. He had fun. He yelled "Happy Halloween" instead of "Trick or Treat" most of the time. He also had a huge grin on his face when he saw me dressed up this year. I dressed as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas - which is currently, one of his favorite movies. We were only out for about an hour.
Today I can't seem to keep my eyes open. No good reason. I just need a nap.
I voted!!! I voted early but I forgot to mail in my ballot so I just went and turned it in earlier today.
I'm stressing a little bit around here...I have to have yet another surgery. That will make 3 surgeries in less than 2 years. My ovaries have to come out. I wish they would of just taken them out in June 2003 when I had a hysterectomy, but my doctors heart was in the right place and he wanted to try to save them. Fast forward a year and a ½ later and they're worse than before. AHhh well...
The good news is I've already reached my max for deductibles and out-of-pockets so it will be all paid for. Phew!! I just DREAD another hospital stay though... Can't get any sleep with them poking you all of the time, coming in and making racket, running that floor cleaner at 4 AM, UGH!! 5-7 days of that and I'll be ready to climb the walls!! But the good part is...I have a laptop now..with wireless net for those boredom blues.
I did my part in the election this year. I went at 7:30am, and there really was no wait. I was #18 for that table already. I am happy the commercials are over! We had a very nasty race in my district, all attack ads all the time. They are now so close (less then 3000 votes apart), they are contesting the race. So it isn't quite over yet.
So far the day is going well. Quiet is a good thing.
The election, the returns are in, things have passed, been banned and at least there will be no more smear campaigns for at least oh, another 2 months, then somewhere, somehow the madness will begin again.
I also voted, waited over 3 hours to do my civic duty, but I hung in there and was counted.
I have a DATE tonight. Yes, on a Wednesday! Me, with the fuzzy eyebrows, unkempt hair from weeks of neglecting myself due to cheerleading. AND the guy is CUTE and SMART and just as CYNICAL as me. I'm a little geeked.
I went out to the office dinner party, had a lot of wine then, headed over to my house where I was throwing a HUGE election shindig. The Cute Boyfriend and I are very active and involved and have been since the primaries. As the evening progressed, I drank more and more and got more and more depressed. I cried all morning this morning and I'm trying to keep it together. I know, I should grow up but this stuff is very important to me.
Oh well. I'm trying not to stuff my face in despair.
My day of cheat resulted in a 4 pound gain (in one day!). But diet-wise, I learned that all those things I was "craving," weren't as yummy as I expected.
