Good grief that last thread got awfully long! Guess we just like to gab!
I had a thrilling weekend.... Spent most of it running errands and then purging closets and drawers wheee....
Managed to stay OP for once on the weekend with the exception of some Greek food but tried to limit to a few appetizers, salad and skipped the rice and potatos.

Heather, I hope your little one gets better soon.
Still, I always skip the dessert section in Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants. My taste buds don't appreciate their desserts. Oh, and East Indian, too. Just give me a bag of chips and a bag of Bridge Mixture.
Hey, Mauvais... you know what I miss? The Party Palace. It was tacky, but a classic.
Where's Den? Den, how is your little DS? Is he doing alright?

Ellis- Re: Indian desserts -what coconut barfi is not appealing to you? ahhh the name alone says it all although I do like the gulab jamon
As for Chinese - I stick with fortune cookies, lychees or green tea ice cream.
The Party Palace had the best burgers and club sandwhichs EVER!!!! Too bad it is gone - lots of good memories there
blugirrl- that is too funny about your DH Hope your is feeling better!

Just a fly by as I have 5 seconsd at work.
Hangin in there. Had a blast last night with K at dinner! It was really good to see him. And he likes my unhappy self. He thinks it is fun/funny. I was so mellow in high school he thinks it is funny to see me ready to yell at everyone.
Work is still nuts. I am starting to have dreams about it.
I am not a huge dessert person unless it is pastry or cheesecake. Sometimes pie.
Heather - at least DH remembered at all!
Hi to Ellis, Den, Mauvais, Still, and the rest of the chicks!

hello. sniffles and all katie is running around today, so i guess she is feeling better. sad that i actually enjoyed yesterday for being such a low key day ..
yeah i was shocked DH remembered, this is first year in the past few that he has membered, without someone telling him day before or day off, he says it is my fault cuz i was dropping hints the night before. so he rushed out and got something to surprise, not hinted at. but i am happy, and thank god it wasn't candy ..
ellis: by chance do you have stock in the bridge mix co?
re desserts : my stepmom is 1/2 italian and 1/2 thai. ( strange mix i know) but she made this dessert that was similiar to jello, but creamier, with coconut milk, and denser not as loose as jello, eveytime i saw it in fridge i would eat the whole damn thing..

And the older one says he "doesn't believe in arranged marriages." HAHAHAHA!!! He is growing up to be as funny as his Dad!!!
Heather-Hope your daughter feels better soon!!
Squeak-HI!!! Glad you had fun at the dinner.
Mauvais-US? TALK A LOT? HA!!!!!

Anyone picked up this week's issue of Woman's World? I saw it in the drugstore at lunch today but didn't read it. The bid headline was - Amazing Canadian Diet Plan!
ummm... is that the Tim Horton's coffee and buttertart diet? Or the maple syrup and back bacon one?
I may have to pick up that issue just for that one article!

Mauvais - As much as I was hoping it meant I could eat at Tim's everyday, it is actually just the Glycemic Index diet. There is nothing really Canadian about it other then it says the book is "flying off the bookselves in Canada".
Den & Ellis - you girls are nuts, but that isn't anything new!

No, Amy. Not lately.
Mauvais, I saw that magazine in the grocery store today. But I have a problem with picking up trashy magazines, so I wasn't able to buy it. What I REALLY wanted to buy was the one with the picture of Bill Clinton and his new sex goddess on it. Enquirer?
