First of all, when IS it? (We want to harass you that day!!!) Do you want to have a quiet celebration or something BIG? Do you want that to be a splurge day or do you want to stick to your WOE? Suggestions depend on what kind of celebration you are looking for.....WE'LL OVERWHELM YOU WITH IDEAS!!!

Get your picture taken professionally. It will be nice to look back on it when you are an old broad like me!

Yeah. And get it taken fully naked. Even if you're fat now, you'll still look better than you will do skinny in 40 years time.

Wow, that's encouraging. I love being reminded of how my looks will deteriorate with time! NOT. :-D Anyway, for my 21st birthday (which was this past June) I went with a couple friends to Chicago and walked around bar hopping. And, of course, got totally drunk. It was a blast, but the next day everyone wanted to go shopping and I had the WORST EVER hangover and wasn't feeling normal until at least 3 PM. So, if you plan on getting drunk, don't make plans for the next day. :-D

Why don't you go buy yourself something special to commemorate the occasion like a nice peice of jewellery, then get together for dinner, drinks and dancing with your friends....

defitely go out and DO something. Start EARLY!!!

Make sure you get one of those 'its my birthday' buttons. Use it, there are alot of places that give discounts and free stuff on your birthday.

If you go out, get a limo so no one will drive, and if you don't that you have a Designated Driver....then, just don't make any plans for the day after, and make sure that you have plenty of gatorade in the fridge...

Have Fun!!!!

I can't tell you what I did on my 21st. It might make you nervous. Have a wonderful time, Rachie!

What ever you do, DON'T go out on your first date with your future ex-husband.

Maybe you could buy yourself something timeless to look back on, like a jewelry or keepsake box.

I also like the picture idea! (Nekkie or not!)

I think the picture idea is great, wish I had done that! When I turned 21 I gave myself a party, the cake said 'happy birthday to me" on it. I used the occasion to liberate myself from all the negative crap that had been going on in my life and declared it, NEW GINYA DAY. I invited all the people (read:guys) I never had the nerve to talk to and college, work and high school buddys, mixed in some Bob Seeger tunes and a keg...
2 years later I married on of the guys I invited, still married after all these years. Basically, do the thing that makes you happy, if it is getting drunk...use caution and go for it. You will never feel more empowered as when you are doing something for yourself in a non-hurtful way.
