Went to the Y this morning with a friend. I managed an entire 20 minutes on the bike, 12 minutes walking on the treadmill, and a fairly decent weight routine. My lungs were hurting, but I'm feeling pretty good now.
YOU HAVE A GREENHOUSE!!!?? You dirty dog, you! I'd KILL for a greenhouse!!
Speaking of dogs, here's a quote for you. Or two.
"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts."
John Steinbeck
"Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear."
Dave Barry
"Lassie looked brilliant, in part because the farm family she lived with was made up of idiots. Remember? One of them was always getting pinned under the tractor, and Lassie was always rushing back to the farmhouse to alert the other ones. She'd whimper and tug at their sleeves, and they'd always waste precious minutes saying things: "Do you think something's wrong? Do you think she wants us to follow her? What is it, girl?", etc., as if this had never happened before, instead of every week. What with all the time these people spent pinned under the tractor, I don't see how they managed to grow any crops whatsoever. They probably got by on federal crop supports, which Lassie filed the applications for."
Dave Barry
"Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love and always have to mix love and hate in their object-relations."
Sigmund Freud
45 minute brisk walk. My shins hurt. Think I will do something else tomorrow. I think it is my shoes. I am steping heel first instead of toe first and pulling the muscle in the front of my leg. Time to dig out my rebocks and go shoe shopping this weekend. Unfortunately it isn't something I can do online. Gotta go to the city.
Fourth day in a row... I went walking today. In the cold. And wind. Pushing my three year old niece in the stroller. Dressed inappropriately... froze my ss off. But I did walk/run for a half hour, and I am pretty proud of myself!
Last night DH and I went for a one hour walk together! I didn't think I'd be in good enough shape for such a long walk, but I managed to keep up a fairly brisk pace without too much huffing and puffing.
