Good times!!!! I have discovered fat free Feta Cheese!

  • I didn't know such a thing existed! I love greek food, and the fat free feta will be a big help. Does anyone else like Greek food?
  • Oh my, yes... Greek food is divine.
Fat free, huh? That's great! Now how about the salt? Because I once ate 1/2 cup of the stuff and the salt in it made me gain 4 pounds in one day.
  • LOL! I think the salt is still pretty high. It has a slightly cottage cheesey texture, not the dry texture of the full fat stuff, but it's good in greek salads, and wet dishes.
  • Okay Velvet... could you send some up to us Canadians, please? We'll take a couple of cases. And send us a bunch of your other low/no fat stuff, too. Except the cream cheese. blah. We've got THAT now! yuck! It's like... like... I dunno... seems like it's got baby powder in it or something.

Oh gawd... just found a hair on my neck... excuse me...
  • LOL! I know the the cream cheese is awful! Gag! I'm sorry you don't have the low fat food there. Maybe if you live close enough to the border you could come get some, if they allow it that is. I mean after all Americans go to Canada all the time to buy cheap prescription drugs. Maybe it could be a trade off?
  • YUM!!!

    LOVE Greek food!!!!
  • Yeah, Den. That's why we're fat, right? What a dumb question, Velvet. We love ALL food!

Yes, Velvet, we live fairly close to the border (Ottawa). In fact, we used to do our grocery shopping in the States every once in a while. It was a big thrill to be able to buy all of your cool stuff. Like no-fat ice cream, etc.
Now... are you kidding? Have you seen what our dollar is worth!? Woof!
  • Ellis-Loblaw's has light Feta cheese which is lower in fat than regular. You can find in those cases in between the veggie section and the deli counter. It comes in a plastic container.
  • Thanks, Mauvais. Yes, I've tried it. It's pretty good, but it just doesn't have that ZING! that the regular has. (less salt I think)
