Well, as of a few days ago, we (Future hubby, kids and I) are on a Vegan plan. The goal is to cut out all animal products in our diet. Aside from that, we'll be watching our fat intake and calories to make sure we aren't making bad choices. We still have some dairy in our fridge and I do intend to finish that off, but we are almost out and I'll be replacing it with plant based products (like rice milk, soy cheeses, etc). I don't feel restricted by this, but it takes a conscious effort to *know* what I am putting in my mouth and it's an effort that I am not used to.
We did not choose this eating plan as a "diet" per se- we chose it because it is healthy. I have been researching Vegetarianism for almost 2 years and the evidence supporting it as a healthy lifestyle choice is amazing. Everything in research has suggested that meat and other animal products destroy your health, so we just decided that it was time to cut those risks. This isn't a plug for Vegetarianism- it's a personal choice. I am just describing my own thought process on it
