I'm new, too. A huge music fan, though I was out of the loop and in the back of some kind of musty closet the last 20 years. Now I'm catching up with a vengeance.

Discovered Rhapsody.com's streaming internet music service for $15 a month, that I can blast over my home stereo system via our Tivo, and I've been listening relentlessly to about eight favorite new (to me) bands including Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Stars and Belle and Sebastian, among many others.

I'm 43 so my day was the Ramones, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Cure, Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Black Flag, etc. I think I invented "emo" though until about a week ago I'd never heard of it. LOL!
