Default navel piercing

For a long while my goal has been to get a piercing when I lost some of my weight.....I decided on my navel....I am unsure though of how much I want to lose before I indulge in my incentive. Does anyone have any experience with one? Since it is on the stomach I am concerned that further weight loss would affect healing, I know that working out will have an affect on healing. Right not I have lost 20...but I was thinking like maybe 25 or 30 more before I get it done... just wanting feed back from anyone who has one thanks

I am interested in this, because my reward for reaching my goal is going to be a navel piercing... and maybe a tattoo, lol. I wish I could tell you, though, the information you are looking for. I am int he same boat. Good luck though. I think it's awesome that we are both using the same incentive.

i have had my navel done and i have done the lose 30 - gain 45 - lose 15, you know.. the yo-yo thing. the cool thing about where the navel is pierced (the skin directly above the belly button) stays relatively consistent. i especially love the way it looks the flatter the tummy gets, so it is good motivation!!!!

gen

p.s. i also rewarded myself with a tattoo on hip (front - bikini line). i know i'm backsliding when my tummy starts blocking the view when i am standing looking down!!.

Make sure you get the barbell type of ring, instead of the actual ring. It's easier to heal with the barbell. I started out with the ring, and it just wouldn't heal right for over a year. I thought I was going to have to remove it. I finally got the barbell and it healed right up. I don't think you'll have any problems with extra weight. Just be sure to follow the after care instructions and you'll be fine! Have fun!

I got one done when I got close to goal and should have waited even longer. It hurt for a long time, I'm not talking major pain, just uncomfortable, whenever I'd bend over or twist. Also, ab exercises and jumping around or running was difficult and slightly painful. It was over a month b/f I'd sleep on my belly again and over two months before I stopped feeling at all. I think all the extra discomfort was b/c my belly still stuck out more than it should have so the ring would rub things or move too much when I bent over. Also, b/c I had a little flap of skin over my belly button (possibly from pregnancy...or maybe fat....LOL) she had to do more of a surface piercing than actually belly piercing.

thanks guys...I think I am gonna wait until I hit about 145 to get it done.... the exercise was the big concern for me going into it. I will also keep the barbell advice in mind too thanks!
