Hi everyone.another sunny day here. I went school cloths shopping with my dd and grdd. she is such a fun kid and def has her own idea of her style, I tootled around and checked out the home dept and the craft dept, and sniffed candles and didn't spend a penny. Cajun, days start to get more lite starting in april, its now going the other way. in winter we have maybe 6 hrs of daylight. and yes I have watched the northern lights right from my deck. we always have snow by haloween till may. summer is short but beautiful. Ive seen a few yellow leaves on my way home today we have moose stroll thru our yard and once in a great while a bear. I can hear coyotes yipping and of course we have owls and eagles. In fact our dog pen is covered with a large chunk of gill fishing net so my little dogs can run in and out the doggy door and I don't have to worry that an eagle or owl will swoop down and get them( it happened to our neighbors). I can see mountains from my kitchen window, and we are only a few miles from the inlet (ocean) my dh hunts moose every yr,and we also put up salmon. he used to hunt caribou when he had his airplane but doesn't fly anymore, we have a remote cabin with 80 acres where its his favorite place to be,its quite a trip to get there, usually 14 miles down the beach when the tides out and then up the bluff and 3 miles inland, thru swamps and across a river. he uses a 6 wheelerto get there. If I had one wish it would be to go with him at least once but with my handicaps its not a smart thing for me to do. hope ive answered some of your questions,my favorite show about Alaska's is Life below Zero. I do love where we live. Oh we have a log home built by my dh,including felling the trees. Its typical Alaskan home, a work in progress and probably will never be finished

thinking about you Karen and sending and you too Bobbie and praying your grson listens and sees the light . well here its 11pm and im rambling.. ttfn for all rosey

Tam tomorrow 1 at day of fall. What a wishful thought.

K3 more weapons. Just so you know I'm doing floor exercise and still jogging on trampoline. I increased my jogging to 5 more minutes this week. I'm a deer hunter I know what comes out of the other end of the barrel. I'm being good. I'm hoping I'll look decent in a dress. I'm so short and with my weight I don't want to look like a barrel.

Rosey I could live your lifestyle very easily. It sounds like paradise to me. I can picture everything you described. Were you born and raised in Alaska or moved there later? Sad for you that you can't get to the camp.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. Hope it shows on the scale.

Hugs
Cajun.

Oh I know how it goes with the accountant! Lol! Actually our CPA is my husband's cousin, and we only see them twice a month to drop off the paperwork and then to pick it up. I do dread when we have to go and have the sit down meeting when it is tax season, though.

Good day all....If this is one day of Fall down here I'll eat my hat (I don't own one). Cleaning girl was here this am. I can do most everything but pushing the vac about kills me and with Dash you gotta vac! Got my hair cut. Weird I go from okay to Phyllis Diller look over night. Picked up 6 items from store. They all fit it cart seat. Bagged into 4 bags???? Been doing jigsaw puzzles on line. Liking them more and more because there's no mess. Dinner cooking and kindle charged. As you can see a do nothing day.

I did fill out my NHS questionnaire. 1976 = 38 years! We started with 121,701 nurses and 85,000 are still alive and 78,000 are still doing the study. As we age the questions get scarier. A lot this time were on memory. They now have enough funding for 5 more years.

You should smell my house...sorry Cajun....I made a butter pecan apple dump cake for Dh. Can smells come in layers, because the deeper you snift the better it smells?

Ohh....blah the stupid snake was swallowing a black bird this morning on the porch......it's gotta go k3

K3...I've been known to scream bloody murder just seeing a snake on a page of DH's hunting magazines. You must have grown up around those creepy things to tolerate them like you do. In Minnesota we have mosquitos as big as snakes and tornados. I read a few years ago the most ideal spot to live in was Colorado Springs, weather wise. Not sure if that still stands. I'm guessing Rosey has mosquitos like we do. BTW Rosey, your acreage and cabin home sounds ideal, I'd love to live there. (I'd spend lots of time in your craft room) Maybe I can take turns living with you and Donna, how's that sound Donna? Oh no, I'm allergic to cats.
Cajun...what color mom of the bride dress are you looking for? What color is your hair and eyes? We'll all help you pick one out.

Carol Sue & Glynne...what's happening with you?

Levi is whining to me, he wants to come sit on top of my computer desk while I play Words With Friends, he's such a little bully. He likes to look out the window and growl at all the critters. We have a momma turkey and her 2 babies out eating bird seed right now. I pull his hair back and up in a top knot each morning so he can see. By evening it looks like it does now, a total mess.

Ta Ta everyone

Hi GG's. Just have to shout today. I LOST 4 lbs!!! 1 lb was a gain I had but I lost that and 3 more. Grand total since I started: Operation Wedding 15 lbs!!!!! Woop woop! Can y'all tell I'm excited. Exercise has boosted my weight loss!!!

Bobbi that's not fair. I asked about Rosey's Alaskan home 1 st. Push over cuz I get to go live there too. Well maybe they would have enough room for us both because I would be outside on the deck watching wildlife and admiring those gorgeous mountains.
My dress will be tea length because I'm short. I was thinking a champagne color. My hair is brown and eyes are green. The brides mom is short too so we talked and decided to both go tea length. Like right above ankles. I would like to have a dress that has a scarf type bottom. I will wait until February to buy my dress. That way I will have lost all that I can lose before the wedding.

K3 you are so mean. Yes I can smell that darn cake. Wish I had a rolling pen. Want to guess what is do with it? Okay you did say you were sorry. (Yea I bet you are). WHY DID YOU NOT GET THE SNAKE? You are braver than me.

Hi cherry and tam. Taxes are never fun. It's depressing how much goverment gets.

Babies are piling in here. Gotta go

Hugs

Default Morning!

Morning Ladies! Got up at 4am, usually it's 4:15 but the bladder said, "Not this morning girlfriend!" I did good with my eating yesterday. I am reading a downloaded book by Josie Spinardi and it is really good (cannot remember the title at the moment) It is on Intuitive Eating. I did great yesterday, ate when I was hungry and stopped at full. My blood sugar was great this morning. I hope to be free of Type II Diabetes one day. That would be so awesome!! No more picking fingers and taking Metformin twice a day! Well off to work. I hope you all have a blessed day.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being MIA. Have been doing HORRIBLE with my eating. Am up 10 lbs in the last year.

I have knee surgery scheduled for 9/10. Kind of apprehensive about it. I know that the extra weight is NOT good.

My problem continues to be at night - after dinner & before bed. All I want is sweets. Thinking about the upcoming surgery is not helping.

Karen & Bobbi, sending you my prayers & best wishes.

Lynn

Cajun, congratulations on your weight loss! One minutes I'm reading about all this delicious food you eat, then I'm reading about your weight loss. It doesn't make sense at all, but I'm happy for you! I know how all that fish and seafood helps!

Deelou, everything is relative I guess...I would be so happy to fit back into my size 14's. Congrats to you for getting into the 12's. I think that ship has sailed for me.

Lynn, it's good to hear from you. I hope your knee surgery goes well. Once you are finished with that and you are healed you will feel so much better and will get rid of that weight you gained.

Tam Tam, you are doing very well with improving your blood sugar. Exercise and proper diet. Diabetes is a terrible disease.

Bobbi, I am researching the process of making a home-made soft cheese called Quark. Ever heard of it? It is a soft cheese similar to yogurt cheese but with a different taste. It is made with milk and either organic sour cream that contains active cultures or organic buttermilk containing active cultures. I can't find the buttermilk but did find the sour cream. It can also be made with cultures you buy, similar to the yogurt starter. When DH sees this stuff starting to curdle on the kitchen counter he is going to tell me to throw it out. LOL

Karen31, I pray that you have loved ones around you to help you get through this difficult time.

Where is Mary? Did she go away? It isn't like her to miss posting. Hope everything is OK.

Good Morning, Goldens!

Mary – I think I should have you buy my lotto tickets! If you come to town, I’ll take you to the casinos to play on my behalf, too! I know that I send the self-fulfilling message to the Universe every time I say this, but I don’t seem to have much luck in things like that! My life has been lucky, but games of chance… not so much! It sounds like you and the pup (tell me her name again, please?) are doing well, and it also sounds like you’re enjoying your son.

CarolSue – oh, blah, blah, blah, and blah…. I could HEAR that you were tongue in cheek: “Donna, I try to be understanding. He is very patient and puts up with a lot of my shenanigans. LOL” Really, though, I think it’s great when two people can be calm with each other and not jump down throats at the first provocation. It’s probably why you’ve been married a long time… in fact, that’s probably why all the goldens who are have been married a long time! Yes, I think Mary is on vacay.

KarenFL – your call for the prayer group worked! Tim got to come closer to home; he got to see his sister again; he got to spend some quality time with CK; he felt good, and then he passed in his sleep. What more could a body ask?

And you’re just a marvel of accomplishment! You’ve done a LOT in this life of yours! I can see you on the wild frontier with your slouch hat and your rifle, taking out the varmints!

Gayle – when does school start, so you can retrain your DH? And I laughed out loud at your comment to CarolSue about the husbands: “I am a delight!” Yes, you are!!

It’s been LOVELY to have my life back this week! I was glad to see everyone, and I was so glad to say “buh bye!!”… they all just make me tired! But it was good to see everyone, even BrotherA**.

Your DS moved into his own place, yes? Is he doing well? And how is your DGS doing with his job? Will he be able to continue when school starts? Did you get over the sting? Are hornets worse than bees or wasps? I hope you’re all better!!

Bobbi – how goes your battle? Is your foot doing so much better? How’s Baby Levi? You haven’t mentioned the babies for a while… (and I’m including DH in that, too!). And how’s Dami? I hope he’s holding his own… Your DD has to be an emotional wreck. Good thoughts, good thoughts.

Sure, you can come and live with me, but the cat comes first. You’re welcome to the shed in the backyard, though (it’s fairly large). I could fix it up into a nice little bedroom. I’ve told Mom that’s where she’s going if she ever has to live with me. She’s going to live forever, so you might end up sharing with her!

Thanks for the Levi pictures… I think he’s either rotten or much loved. Is he behaving with poor Charlie?

Cajun – as always, you’re busy, busy! I’m glad you’re still babysitting the pup. She’s getting a good start in life! Not to worry. If I just abstain from sweets and manage my portions, CONSCIOUSLY, I can drop weight fairly easily. I have to qualify all of that: for the first week or so, I drop weight fairly easily, and then I get stuck. I’ve gotten rid of the weight that was creeping up after last week’s massive socializing. I figure if I can keep off what I lose, then I’ll come back to it at a later time and lose some more. When I’m about 112, I’ll be where I want to be, and then I’ll be dead….. so who really cares, anyway?

I am SO impressed with your weight loss! How long did it take you to drop the 15#? You’re going to be so very gorgeous at that wedding! GOOD JOB!!!!

Lynn – so good to hear from you! Are you having a TKR? And just one done? Do you have someone to be with you the first week or so? Good thoughts, good thoughts!!!

Deelou – congrats on your 17#! And I’m with CarolSue: I barely fit into a 14 when I came out of the womb!

Tam – hola! I so agree that October is the best month of all… we get this kind of shimmery orange around 4 in the afternoons in October that makes everything just breathtakingly vivid and beautiful. I can’t describe it well, obviously, but it’s just way cool. And, of course, when the trees turn red, it’s just lovely.

Rosey – sounds like you had a fun day with your girls. I’m so glad your DGD is doing so well! Will she be able to be in school without the help of cane/walker, or anything like that? Your “typical Alaskan home” sounds wonderful, and I CAN’T WAIT!

Cherry – hola!

The cat who tried to eat Samson, Geoffrey, apparently still considers my patio to be his new home. I AM NOT FEEDING HIM! However, he sleeps in the dog’s old doghouse and lounges on the patio chair during the day. He doesn’t even have the decency to run away when I open the door… I’m very careful that Mr. MachoSamson is unaware of his presence. I don’t want any more vet bills!

Life is good. The weather continues to be quite lovely, early 80’s, rain every afternoon. This is how our summers are SUPPOSED to be and haven’t been for many, many years. I’m enjoying! And now I’m weak with hunger, pale and wan. Therefore…

Have a good day, and later, lovelies!

Carol sue. We do eat a lot of good food. I make and tell y'all about the delicious desserts I make too. Most of the time I don't even eat the dessert. I'm still following the low carb diet. I'm back to exercising too. When I eat the delicious seafood I eat in moderation. I will not give up the foods I like. I'm just trying to have control. It's working.

Donna I started June 16. So that's 10 weeks. I had a 2 lb gain one of those weeks and it took 2 weeks to get it off. I'm happy. It is a lot of hard work and plenty of pity parties for myself.

Deelou. Congrats. Awesome feeling huh!!!

Lynn. I'm not going to sit here and tell you 10 lbs is not bad because I put back 30 over the winter last year. It's depressing. It's hard. A lifetime fight. I'm guessing just having a hurt knee is depressing enough. Get yourself better and then maybe you'll be able to make some changes. Don't give up. You can do it!!!!!!! Please don't stay away. We can help you through this.

Donna, we DO scream and yell. A lot! But we get it out of our system then forget it and move on. Neither of us hang on to our anger.

Bobbi, loved the pic of Levi.

Cajun, how's it going with the medical problem you were having awhile back? Did the antibiotics do the trick?
